She teaches with the assumption that you know as much as she does and you understand it completely. At times when you ask question she gets a bit irrated at it, and by that time she is 10 steps ahead of you and you are even more lost. Good Luck
she's a good teacher
She gives a lot of homework and expects you to spend time in her class. She tends to give a quiz on the first day, either on the syllabus or prior knowledge. and she does tend to get irritated if you don't know something. she looks scare if anyone ask question in the class.
She gives good notes, and make sure you did spend times on her class. Otherwise, you're not gonna pass~ Avoid to ask her questions in class, since you may get more lost after she explains it.
one of the worst professor i have ever taken
she seems nice giving out easy points. she doesnt seem mean because of her size, but dont be fooled. she can be very scary. she almost made me cry, honest. )-;
great teacher with great lecture and note. she is really helpful. recommended, and great easil y on hw and project. sometime curve midterm.
Even though she was confusing for the most part, she tried very hard to make the students understand the lecture. She is not mean and if she sees that you are making an effort in her class, she will help you. Reading the chapter before the lecture helps you have a greater understanding.
BAD ONE
I can NOT imagine someone who has a DR. dgree can be such idiot. Fist of all she has some stuped unorganized exams. As I experianced in every test she has major mistakes which make you confused. Beside that she does NOT KNOW accounting. If you chinese student you may want take chance but you will fail it anyway. THIS INSTRUCTOR IS UNRECOMENDED
Even though you cant understand her that well, she is very easy. She make sure she covers everything before she gives work. If you need extra help, she always have office hours and it works. Great teacher.
Very Clear and systematic lecture style, will guide you step by step
Easy if you do the work and listen during lectures. I had a few "proven accounting experts" trying to teach the class, with the excption of the real Ace from UCLA, they should try to learn instead of giving their input, why are they at school working on their degrees? Maybe this one chic is a clerk who "knows everything". The professor is great!
The class itself is difficult to grasp the subject let along understand the professor. Though at times I did blow up on her she still remained helpful and even liked me. You have two midterms & a final. She goes over the possible questions on the midterm the class before, even goes over homework. The only suck thing is the Quickbooks-that boy is rude
Her english is pretty bad. It took me several weeks to realize that when she said "Var," it actually meant "Very." Her dry monotone voice makes a subject as dull as accounting even more excruciating.
Terrible. Just terrible. I fancy myself a fairly responsible and generally good student, but no matter how much effort I put into her class I couldn't suceed. I received an A in Acct A. In her class I received a D. The first D since I've been attending college.
This woman is the worst most arrogant instructor I have ever had. Not only was she not helpful she discouraged students from asking questions. Her communication skills are terrible, and she keeps her back to the class the whole time. She supposely graduated from school back east but she can't even speak english. She rude and very painful to look at
This instructor doesn't seem to like her job. She obviously doesn't want to be teaching and she takes it out on the class. I highly recommend people avoid her class. She was arrogant and rude. Her lectures were very hard to understand, she has a very heavy accent and isn't very coherent.
Wonderful professor, goes over everything in great detail to make sure u understand. ONly test on materials she has covered. I would totally recommend this teacher.
Very systematic lectures, somewhat dull, but it is accounting, so what can you expect? Wants to help students and posts very good notes online. However, to her problems, she doesn't provide answers except during class, so going to class is pretty important in that way. Not too difficult, tries to give partial credit when she can.
Despite the other comments, she is a very good professor. She teaches in an easy to understand manner. She does not rush and she actually follows the syllabus. She goes over the exams and homework. The homework reflects the exams, there are no surprises. Does not give too much homework. Very relaxing class...
I highly recommend taking her. I love her style of teaching. She really stresses the concepts and makes it very understandable. I wish she taught other upper division accounting classes. I wouldn't hesistate to take other classes with her.
Dont listen to what others say. I recommend her very much. To the comment below, what do you mean she "doesnt seem to like her job?!" She has a PHD in accounting, her lectures are very simple to follow, shes a friendly teacher to approach. although she is a tough grader, I got 2 A's on the midterms but ended up with a final grade of B.
good intention... not so good expectancy
Don't pay attention to the bad remarks about her. I have taken acctg upper div. classes at CSUF b4 & she is the best acctg instructor I have ever taken! This is the first time I'm getting A's & B's! Do the hwk & take good notes. Midterm come from her quizzes, hwk & she provides study guides. She welcomes feedback from the class & is eager to help.
I will not recommend Dr. He. She expects too much from her students. She requires her students to memorize formulas that are far too many. The first mid-term consisted of 5 chapters.
Don't take her, you will be lucky to get a passing grade. Far too many formulas to memorize for the exams. She comes across as very helpful, however, you sense your roll as a student to her vast knowlege of accounting.
Weekly quizes multi choice. Weekly HW. 1 mid/final. Gave us ch highlights and example questions which r simular to exams. If you ask for help she is very nice. Nice in class too. Has a little asian accicent but still easy to listen to. She says "first'est" a lot.. u get use to it. U have to work for grade, yes... 1 ch per week. 9-11 chs total.
Tries really hard to explain the material despite difficult subject. No nonsense approach to teaching. You will work for your grade but a great teacher overall
She is easy going and very helpful. Two midterms non-accumulative and you can use a cheat sheet on her final which includes all chapters in quarter. Based only on her notes, I never used book once, too confusing, she explains it a lot simpler. Must attend in order to understand. Take good notes and you'll pass easy and simple. Recommendable.
Very nice professor, always willing to help her students. She's one of few professors that are actually lectures. She has her own style and following the book. Her tests are not so easy thou, study hard and ask her any questions you have before the test.
Personally..i pretty good professors. Her quizzes are actually very helpful. At first, didnt enjoy her class but as the qtr went by i began to understand the material. if you want to learn take her!
Her ways of teaching make the class easy to get through, even if the concepts are sometimes difficult to get. This was one of my first classes where she actually followed the syllabus without rushing at all. Take her. With any accounting class you do have to study, but her class makes it manageable to take on an accounting class.
I would not recommed herl. She actually expects you to memorize formulas. Avoid at all cost. Don't be fooled by her easy going demeanor.
Dr. He is very helpful to students who are really serious for accounting. You should take this professor, if you really want to learn something about accounting. You will get many staffs about this class.
prof He does not explain as well as expected. she follows the examples from the book and the website. waits for the students to ask something to explain it. there is a group presentation and project that takes a lot of time to complete. her final was nothing like what she said it would be. you need to work hard to pass.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER!!!!!!!!
She is very nice but the subject itself is hard. READ the chapter BEFORE and you'll be able to understand what shes talking about in class she explains it well. If you pay close attention to her lecture and do your homework you'll be ok. plus her presentaiton is easy, but her final is really hard
Her lectures are crystal clear but however her tests are hard. I work really hard to get a C.
If you are good at accounting then take this professor. Otherwise if you have a hard time with accounting I would not recommend this teacher. There are weekly quizzes and four homework assignments so be prepared to put a lot of effort into studying. The exams are fair but hard so you cannot slack off in this class.
Class is not mandatory. But I suggest you show up because if you are not clear with the concepts of accounting then you will be lost on the midterm. Sometimes she is hard to understand, but always helpful during her office hours. There are 2 midterms and 1 final. Hw is also counted, so be sure to do it! The tests are hard, but manageable.
The lecture is clear, and she is very helpful if you have questions. Understanding her lecture is not enough though. Her exams are hard, at least for me. If accounting is your world, then take her for challenging.
Do the homework, and be sure to study whatever is on her chapter highlights cuz it will be on the mid term & the final. If not on her chapter higfhlights then don't bother with it.
Her lectures are clear and informative. She gives you chapter summaries which are helpful, especially if you don't want to read the textbook. Do the homework and show up and you should get an A. The class moves a little slow, though.
Very good professor. Takes her time and thoroughly lectures. Daily quizzes and HW is due each week. Be prepared for a very tough midterm and final.
Great Professor, the lecture is very clear. She will help you if you have any question. Good professro learn with!!!
She is a great professor. clear lecture and try to help students. 1 hw each chapter and randomly collect 2 of them in the whole quarter, and assign 2 hw. 1 mid 1 final. not hard. She's nice. Take her.
very nice prof. collect 2 hw for the whole quarter, thats it. 1 midterm, 1 final. 4 problems for each exam, easy to get an A!!!
She teaches well and explains everything clearly BUT her exams are hard and may not be the same as the ones done for homework.
Read the book and zone out in class. She talks in circles; you won't miss a thing. I got a B in the class but never received anything back (no homework or test). Like I said, just read the book.
She does not know how to teach. She gets mad if you ask questions, and her lectures are useless. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!
BAD PROFESSOR SHE REALLY DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH
It is a manageable class to get an A. Just read the chapter once, and do the homework problem and practical exam question three times and you will get an A because the exam is so similar to the HW and practical exam questions.
If you understand her lecture, and done all the online Hk and exercise, you will get a great grade in this class.
NICE PROFESSOR, teach class very clear, the hint is u need to do the MC online before the test, some of them show on the test. got A
First of all, the textbook isn't very necessary unless you need the help. She takes attendances everyday but just a sign in yourself which if u make good class friends they can be you too. She acts like theres no curve but really she does. Exams ARE NOT difficult and she gives points for trying. Overall ifyou want to learn something or just pass...
She is the best professor at Calstate LA. She explains everything clearly. All you need to do is pay very good attention and practice her examples. The tests are not hard as long as you study.
Guys, cost accounting is the hardest accounting class. and this teacher makes it harder. If you miss just one lecture, you will lose points on a test. Her tests are based on study guides she gives you and problems which topics will be on what was the most covered on a lecture. Dont trip. Come to class. Hard A.
One of the hardest accounting class I have ever taken. There is one midterm, one final, and 8 sets of hw assignments but they are only due on the two test dates. Attendance is mandatory and it will help your grade. Take good notes because the problems are somewhat similar to the test. Teacher is extremely nice, but doesn't explain/teach well. GL!
She is nice, she tries to explain the material as clearly as possible but she isn't good at it. Do all the hw and practice practice practice you will be ok. 2 midterms 1 final no projects!
Professor HE is very smart but not a very good professor. She makes things hard to understand. HW problems takes many hard working hours to complete.
Professor Haihong He is very sweet, helpful, and very smart. I never miss her class and always study hard but I do not understand the way she teaches at all. Cost accounting is very difficult but she makes this class more difficult due to her exams and her teaching style. Please take another teacher if you want A or B
Professor He is a nice teacher. Her lecture is easy to understand. Not too many homework. No quiz. The exams are a little bit difficult, but if you review her notes and exam guide, you will survive.
Dr. He is a very nice professor. You must practice the H.W and review her class notes to pass the midterm and the final. Nothing is impossible. You have to put time to do it! )
Dr. He is a nice and smart professor. However, her teaching style is pretty confusing. Even the text book does a better job of explaining things. She should've simplified things so it's easier to understand. She expected u to have solid knowledge of managerial accounting but never reviewed old knowledge for you. You have to work hard to get an A.
Prof. He teaches accounting from questions in the book. She straightly go to the questions and teaches every step. if you did not read the book, you cannot understand her. (book is difficult to read). midterm is ok, final is a little difficult. 1 page cheat notes, close book. Easy homework, attendance counts.
Difficult to understand. Lectures are nothing like the book. Does not explain details in her lecture examples. Abbreviates labels to the point you don't know what the is going on in the problem. Homework is online but do not relate with her examples or her tests. Assumes the whole class has taken/loves cost accounting concepts. Assigned seating?!
Teacher can be difficult to understand at times but, if you write down everything she has on the board then you are good. Everything she test will have been taught on the board. Don't bother studying the online homework, just do your best to understand the stuff she writes down and you will be good. It is very important that you attend every class.
The subject itself is tough but the professor is also hard to understand at times. The lecture is quite heavy. Be sure to take really good notes, even the ones she doesn't write on the board, because her exams are all based off class notes. The homework online is useless. Study class notes and you'll be fine.
She is not an easy professor, her exams are difficult so you will need to practice a lot and do the homework. If you want to do well in the two midterms and final, make sure to do the Pearson exam reviews. Also, she lets you use a concept sheet so that helps a lot.
She is really nice, but she doesn't teach material well. Doesn't explain well. Uses a lot of acronyms to the point of confusion. 2 Midterms, 1 Final (35%), online hw 10-15%, and attendance 5%? Exams are different from hw problems. Teaches shortcuts different from book. My first C, lowest acct grade before was a B+/A. TAKE ANOTHER ACCT CLASS INSTEAD
Cost accounting with her was difficult and frustrating at times. Her homework is insanely annoying to work within MyMIS and her lectures can be very confusing at times so don't be afraid to tell her that you do not understand. Tests were similar to the worksheets that she gives you during class, so attending class when she goes over them is a must.
Her lectures and style of teaching are sometimes really confusing so do not be afraid to ask her for clarification as cost accounting is no joke. Her worksheets that she hands out in class are her best tools that she has to teach. MyMIS is downright frustrating to work with, so be prepared to work on the homework form there. Tests are similar to HW
Her lectures are very confusing and a lot of times students are just lost when she lectures. Cost accounting is a subject that i think is necessary to have a teacher who is clear and very proficient in explaining complex materials. Overall, i was her class was very hard to understand with her teaching method.
Here's the deal, take her class during the SUMMER. Everyone says that Spring and Fall is the worst time, but I had her in the Summer and it was an easy A. TIPS: Buy the book online, PDF form $8. Homework doesn't need to be correct and you get 100%, as long as you try. You get a cheat sheet for each quiz. She drops the lowest of 5 Quizzes. SUMMER!
Cost accounting is not easy, you have to get yourself understood of the materials. The professor is nice, so try to ask her questions. HW 12%, 3% attendance, 2 midterms (25 % each), final 35 %. I attended every class, took notes, did hw --> help me understand the materials. Not easy A if you do not work hard for this class.
Beyond boring, can barely understand, belittles and condescends, cannot believe I was required to take this online to get a degree. worst online class experience, this professor needs to teach in person. if you have ADD, dont even think about it
She is nice. You just need to ask her. Two exams. Weekly assignments. Very manageable.
Prof He cares a lot about her students. She understands the struggles of being college students and will help with assignments if needed. Make sure to complete your assignments on time, the class is manageable so long as you keep up with the readings and assignments.
Very clear and informative lectures on cost accounting. I learned a lot from Prof He's class. Her Tableau videos are so useful!
This professor covered the material well in her cost accounting class. The HW assignments were on Pearson and had unlimited attempts, meaning you could keep repeating them to earn full points. Weekly quizzes and the midterm were all multiple-choice and fairly easy too. My class was hybrid and she rarely took attendance.
Everything is on Pearson; homework, Smartbooks and quiz. So every week those three r due. Maybe like 3-4 discussion boards throughout the whole semester so like 1 every month and u only reply to one person. 1 midterm and the final but overall it's chill. It is a very light class.
