very hard to understand, sort of confusing at times, but pretty easy, if the class asks him to make the quizes take home. in our class he only assigned hw problems that were in the solutions manual, made all the quizes take home. Just remember to ask him.
He also teaches intro to visual basic. He is rude and refuses to anwser our questions. Even when you fullfill an assigment Haji will take away points if you did not use code he expected to see. Marsha Williams is a better Teacher. Trust me.
I had Mr. Nazarian for my online class in fall 2004. He was one of the best instructors I ever had. He was very organized, supportive and attentive to his student's needs. He always responded to my emails with respect. He was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend him to my friends.
The instructor was very well organized though he was strict. He really cared about our learning. Haji had a passion for teaching and a special sense of humor which made learning Math easy and fun. I didn't get an A but I learned a lot.
The worst teacher I have ever taken. He refuses to answer questions. He is not helpful. He even ended class because a student insisted on a question being answered. He seems to get mad when students refer to his intro to programming class being about programming. He seems to think its a Math class.
Haji doesn't like being asked questions. He is not helpful during the class period. There were no disruptive students in our class, only those who had questions to ask. Haji does not seem to have the time to go over work assignments. His way is the only way with code. He is not good to learn from.
Worst teacher and worst online class I've taken. No teaching was involved. The material isn't hard, but getting any help if you need it is impossible.
good, caring.
I took this course online. I don't know how he is in person, but he is very organized and consi with everything as far as grading our assignments. Good online teacher. He knew what he was doing.
great guy. very helpful
Great guy, very helpful. He takes extra time aside from class to set up group study sessions, and sometimes does your homework problems as examples in class.
listen to lectures and don't do your homework in class.
Nice guy, Had weekly study sessions, 20% extra credit on weekly quizes, only 10 questions a quiz. Goes over homework in class before due. Reccomended!!
easy. does homework problems in class.

Sarcastic, but amusing. Open book/open note tests. No final. Worked hard to help us succeed. Went over tests each week. Answered questions. Gave extra bonus points each week.
super visual teacher, awesome examples
Stay away from this guy! Cant word the questions right and makes you pay for it when it is Test Time. He f**king yelled with an email stating that his trick questions arent tricky and I told him about other "other" teachers that thought the same as I did and he told me to "get some credit from them" Total Wacko, all my friends hate his guts!!!!!!!!
Haji is a teacher who knows what he is doing, but is not fit to be a teacher. On the first day of class he told us that "He doesn't care if we pass or fail, as long as we Learn....". I'm sorry, but having a teacher with an attitude like his is not appropriate. We as students care if we pass or fail, as this is our future in his hands.
He tries his best to explain, but gives up if he sees you don't care about learning. You have to be thorough about your work and won't be able to ace the class with minimum amount of effort because if you think he doesn't care, he does. You either have to know math really well or work at it all the time. Take the class if you are here to learn.
the reason why many of these students did not like him is because they did not do the work. at first i thought i could get away with not doing anything, but then i realized that he said it right from the beginning. DO THE WORK GET AN A+ and that is what i got. and i still had the time to kick it hardcore, haha
He gets frusterated very easily but he does a very good job of teaching. He doesnt like when students question him or dont care about learning. If you care about learning then you will do fine, but if you are going to slack he wont like you and you wont do well.
This teacher was okay, but not great. He explained things fairly well, but graded hard. Material on the quizzes were harder than the homework. Won't curve a quiz even if the whole class did poorly. There's no extra credit in his class. I got a higher grade than expected though.
He is very clear and very thorough when he's explaining stuff.. But he can get quite offended when his students dun attend classes.. And he really wants his student to LEARN, and not MEMORIZE!!! Which i think it's a good thing.. I will storngly recommend him for those taking Math 099.. Just do assignments and most importantly, TURN UP FOR CLASS!!:P
Poor explanation.

I took online class. Once, I tried to take quizz, but it was not available. He closed the quizz for 1 hour early. He said that he sent emails to all students about changing time, but I realy didn't get it. He refused to let me re mark the quiz. I don't like teachers witch don't give apportunity for getting better grade.

Great teacher! He explained things very clearly. There was no homework, only weekly quizzes which made it perfect for me. If you can, go to his office on a weekly basis or just before each quiz. I did it and it was really helpful. I think I am acing this course (or at least I am hoping). I do recommend him to all my friends.
I can't explain how worried I was about the grade. I never thought that hard work could pay off this much. Haji really cared about his students which gave ME more confidence when I needed it. He is one of the best professors I've ever had, because his teaching style really makes the learning challenging. Thank you so much for teaching this quarter.
He is one of the toughest and most organized teacher I have ever had. I am glad I am taking only one class this semester. I like the way he teaches and I am beginning to understand and like math. He is a passionate teacher and wants his students to do well. I just wish he was more flexible in grading quizzes. I do recommend him to my friends.
Grades quizzes too harsh
I was thinking about dropping this class but the teacher encouraged me to continue. I am glad I did. I am expecting a B+ or at least a B. If you are serious about learning, take this class with Mr. Nazarian. It is an experience that sticks with you for the rest of your life! Thank you Mr. Nazarian for caring!
This online course was excellent. I really enjoyed being able to share suggestions with my instructor via email. He was very considerate. He was very accommodating too. He always responded with respect, great attitude and knowledge of the material. I am very satisfied I took it and would definitely recommend it to my friends and etc.
Very good teacher. Explains everything perfectly and he is an easy grader. His tests are simple if you study the textbook. If you ask him questions he will gladly answer them and explain it in a way so you understand. I wish Haji would teach 120+
He was so cunfusing, that i had to withdraw. I failed a test because i listened to him!
worst teacher, barely could understand him. lectured mostly about how well he wanted us to do, didnt really teach much about math just mostly us succeeding. boring, almost fell asleep everyday. did other homework instead to keep me awake. grades tough, marks you down for the smallest mistakes ever. i got a D wish i dropped out!
Great organized online class. I always got a quick, comprehensive response from this teacher. Mr. Nazarian is a demanding instructor. But his requests (reasonable requests) were clearly stated at the beginning of the course. So it was easy to follow class rules with no problems.
He is a horrible teacher. All he talks about is how much he wants his students to succeed and then cant answer a single question in class. He thinks we all want to cheat and just get answers. Complete weirdo and cant speak english very well. PLease do not take him
Worst teacher I have ever took. Was re-taking this class to get a better grade than a C+ from previous teacher. That was a mistake. Im going to end up with a worst grade. He rather preach about how we weren't loved as kids by our parents and how he knows so much about math than teach us. Pretty hard to understand him as well. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Online class - Haji may intend to be a good teacher, but he falls short of being even a good one. He treats students like children, is very controlling, and won't allow students to discuss problems to learn together. Obviously, the culture barrier plays a part in his communication - which is difficult. Don't take him if you have a choice.
Professor is not his passion, he is board out of his mind and completely hands off when it comes to teaching. I honestly did not learn one single thing from Haji, No voluntary feed back at all. BCC could save a salary and keep the class by simply having an administrator post the class.
I was nervous after reading all the other reviews on here, but after taking his class I am skipping summer qtr math just so I can sign up for his next class in the fall. Very passionate about what he is teaching. He really wants you to learn, and will explain it as many ways as he has to. GREAT instructor.
Great teacher! I am repeating this course for the third time and I am finally getting it. I wish I had him first. Haji really cares about his students though some may call him a harsh grader. I recommend him to all my friends!
He is a horrible teacher. All he talks about is how much he wants his students to succeed but it is not true. He enjoys when his students feel stupid. He thinks we all want to cheat and just get good grades and pass the class. PLEASE, PLEASE don't his class if you want to learnand pass the class.
This is an online class and the teacher is totally useless as he does absolutely no work. The book is taught using the power points from the publisher and no discussion about Math is actually taught unless you email him questions. If you do not understand fractions and decimals, take this class from a real teach, not this hack!!!
Mr. Nazarian has helped me so much with math and before his class I had taken 3 h.s. Algebra 2 classes and his is the best. yes he is a stricter teacher but he lays all of his expectations at the beginning. those who dont like him are the ones who dont try. i reccomend him and his english is good, those who disagree werent listening.
I liked Haji. He went over a lot of details and was helpful to the students. He gave out many practice problems that did not need to be turned in. Also, his homework assignments were quite simple and he went over them the next day. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Haji. Take his class already.
You will go bananas!! Very helpful when it came time for Final Exam.. he made videos of lectures on youtube which helped a lot. Wished we had more practice in class.
funny middle eastern dude. really helpful and makes sure everyone understands the concepts. just do your homework and you'll get an A. I did and i don't understand math very well.
Haji is passionate about what he is doing and if you can follow the accent you will be fine. Alot dropped out at the end, more than half the class.
I find his lectures helpful when he isn't wasting time daily preaching about "you memorize instead of learn".
Funny guy, which you need when taking math during the summer! Attend class and make sure you do the homework, if so you will be fine.
Do not take Haji if you hate being ridiculed. We started out with 28 kids in the class and finished with 12, he will rip you apart for asking questions that have be gone over before. He talks seriously the whole time about how you do not "learn" the material but "memorize" he wants you to break the pattern. He is an awful teacher and made a girlcry
I am taking this online. I'm 42 years old, run a non-profit corp and this guys makes me feel like I'm an idiot, which he seems to actually enjoy. Super rude in his responses when you ask a simple question, although he says to ask anything. Never heard of a teacher being so picky while at the same time making it hard to know his expectations.
He does problems on the board. If you learn like that that's fine, but questions are discouraged and he often stops to rant and preach about making mistakes and memorizing instead of learning. I wouldn't recommend him.
I was very disappointed with this online math class. You are required to write 450 words weekly about various math subjects (for a math class!). Also, some of the questions on the tests/assignments are poorly written. Not to mention that the instructor seemed absent from the online environment during the entire quarter.
He's easy to understand & obviously knows how to teach. He will spend 40 out of 50 minutes ranting about how awful students are. He will make you feel stupid for asking questions, but his youtube videos are VERY helpful & he doesn't rant & rave in them! The youtube videos were only reason I passed, you can FF thru his complaining :)
let me tell u something hes useless and jumps around wen hes not needed to. hes online math homeworck is retarded and sometimes u put a right ansewer and it becomes wrong wat is that??? u tell me!!! obviously the person who hired him wasnt thinking striaght and he dosent noe how to explain!!!!
This teacher is very tricky. He states that he wants to help his students but his actions speak otherwise. He will have online quizzes and tests that have confusing questions and he seems stubborn about fixing mistakes. Avoid his class if your grade is important to you.
This teacher was horrible, doesn't care about anything especially his students, I was retaking this class because the prereq for next class was a b- and I had previously recieved a C, (so I already passed this class from a different teacher), he makes off question even if they are right,
This teacher was horrible, doesn't care about anything especially his students,he makes off question even if they are right, HE IS VERY DISCRIMINATIVE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, can't understand, constantly calling everyone stupid, and has even said it to my face. AVOID TEACHER AT ALL COSTS.
This teacher is passionate; its clear that he is, and I commend him for his passion. He wishes to see his students succeed, but what teacher doesn't? This guy was terrible in the way he teaches. He had it setup so that only unremakeable quizes were the only thing you were graded on. Though he had suggested assignments, the students were left alone.
He is a really bad teacher. You may get the concepts in his lectures or his homework recommendations but he makes his tests extremely hard with types of example we hadn't done in class. He also lectures for a good 1/6 if his class about how we don't learn correctly. Seeing as his tests were the only things he graded I had to drop his class.
I took Math 99 with him. I think he is a good teacher if you really pay attention to him. He is passionate about teaching.
Haji Nazarian will form a good basis for your future math classes. The class is solely graded on quizzes and the exam. He is a very passionate teacher. He is very tough though. He quizzes are a bit harder than the examples done in class. NEVER miss class. He spends much time lecturing students. He's very passionate.
omg... this guy has now reached my top 1 favorite teacher ever... he makes the class active every morning by cracking jokes. he only grades quizes and test, no HW at all. as long as you go to class and understand his lectures, you are safe to get a B. i never did any handouts(exercises) yet all my quizes are C+ or better.con! not so easy quizzes
Would not take him again. He is funny at times, but he is very condescending and impatient. He spends too much time lecturing us. He can be nice at times. He has his goods & bads. For me the bads were not worth it.
Nazarian's teaching style seemed rushed most of the time. His quizzes and tests are hard since most of them consist of things barely covered during lectures. I would take a different instructor if math isn't your best subject.
Mr. Nazarian is a great teacher. I enjoyed his class and videos. Attending class everyday and viewing his lecture notes and doing his review exercises has taught me a lot. Out of all my math courses I have taken at Bellevue College, I learned the most in his class.
I'm taking this class online. He organized all assignments and quizzes very well. But, he doesn't help at all if we have questions.
Haji has good online videos. Although, he is not helpful in class. Haji frequently refuses to answere questions and will mark full points off tests questions if work is not fully shown, even if there is little work and a correct answere. Lots of studying is needed to pass the class. You will be on your own with his youtube videos. A's are rare.
Had no homework in this class but he was not helpful at all in class. Talks about wanting students to succeed but doesn't help with student questions. At times he is harsh towards students especially if you don't get his lectures. It's best to avoid asking questions or just learn from home with a text book and come to class on test days and pray.
Haji is a passionate teacher but he is hard. If you want to get an A, you need to attend and study really hard. I am not expecting a high mark since I skipped many lectures due to my work but I watched his YouTube videos. They are very helpful. I may need to repeat this course in winter, unfortunately he is not teaching it in the morning.
I took this course online. Because of my schedule, being able to take it online was very helpful. That being said, you must discipline yourself to complete all assignments/quizzes (through the textbook publisher's website). I didn't need to ask a single question. Class is laid out nice. No due dates - complete all work by end of quarter (I approve)
My favorite math teacher at BC! His way of teaching coupled with problems from his online handouts really helped me succeed in his class. His quizzes were challenging but if you listen to his lectures and study hard, you will do fine. He is willing to help you succeed and get a good grade as long as you try.
All assignments and quizzes are due on the last day of quarter but you are able to complete this online course in one or two weeks if you want. No Final Exam! He has a suggested weekly plan if you are not disciplined enough to be on your own. He is very prompt on responding to your questions through emails and always willing to help you succeed.
Excellent professor! He makes you work hard throughout the quarter but he rewards you with a good grade at the end. Haji is very organized and consistent! He knows his subject matter and he delivers it well. He makes everything so simple so you don’t need to read your book. I wish he was teaching pre-calculus class in winter, I would get another A!
I took his class in the summer of 2012 which was not a good idea. Failed his class but now know that summer quarter goes too fast, especially for math. But its ok, learn from my mistake people:)
One of the best teacher I've ever had. He explains everything clearly and answers all questions. I wish I could take another class with him. It wasn't easy but I studied and got an A in his class.
Don't do it if you can avoid him. Likes to berate the class instead of teach it. Didn't use the book in class. Expected you to use his videos instead of teaching.
Haji is a very straight forward teacher and is funny at times. If you pay attention and attend class you will get a good grade.
Haji is great! His tests are not only the sections you just covered but also sections from prior tests, which always keeps the old stuff fresh in your mind. He's also very lenient if you mess up, and won't dock off so many points if you screw up on a lot of problems. Just show that you're trying to understand, and he'll reward you.
Came into this class with a pretty good understanding of math. In my previous year I had earned a 96%. Decided to withdraw from this course when the homework and class work had nothing to do with the quizzes each Friday, which counted as the majority of the grade. The quizzes were about 8 questions long and extremely difficult. Wouldn't recommended
About 10 or more students dropped out of this class. Tests were extremely hard; he expects students to know the concepts and apply it to any problem no matter how difficult. Math was my strongest subject, until now. He gets frustrated easily also. However, he can explain thoroughly and answer questions. Much studying is needed for this course.
Haji is really silly. However, this was the first year I had a hard time in math. He teaches the concepts well, but the weekly quizzes have only 5-7 questions so it is VERY easy to lose points even though he gives partial credit. If you ask a question he may think you just weren't listening. I got a good grade, but half the class dropped out.
NOT A GOOD TEACHER. Haji had an okay method at the beginning of the quarter, but as the material got more confusing, he changed his teaching method, which messed people up. He also IS NOT good with questions once so ever. If there are questions in class, he tends to glaze over them. AVOID his class.
Not a teacher I would want to have again. His explanations are fairly unclear, he gets frustrated easily, often doesn't understand questions asked and gives bad answers. Talks about learning not memorizing, and I found myself doing better after I stopped taking this advice. Quizzes are hard, mostly because he includes concepts from previous classes
Haji doesn't like taking questions. He expects students to just understand the material if they study hard enough. He uploaded lectures onto Youtube and used his own worksheets for practice. The book wasn't used. His curriculum was frustrating and most of the class dropped or flunked out. I failed his class but got an A with a different teacher.
Haji is a reasonable teacher, I think. He helped me a lot outside the class whenever I needed. He is a hard teacher. I have been struggling with his class but at the end, he rewarded me with a decent grade, more than I had expected. Just listen to what he says (ignore a few) and you do fine.
Haji’s enthusiasm for math and his willingness to answer in details to students questions coupled with his spicy problems made his class challenging and enjoyable at the same time. Take his class if you are serious about learning math. He will reward you if you show him you are trying to learn.
First off, he is a decent guy. He told us the book wasn't mandatory but guess what he does halfway through the quarter, teach straight out of the book. He changed his teaching halfway through the quarter and that messed up more than half of the class. He had a layout of power points and lectures online but closed them halfway through t he quarter.
Haji is an excellent instructor for those apt to self-study. Be prepared to work hard. His expectations are quite clear and well documented on his school website. His website is current and well planned. Many other math instructors are not nearly as organized as Haji. I was able to find my req'd materials for a different math class on his site.
Self teaching class. You must spend more time outside of class learning on your own. Avoid, don't take this class even as a last resort. I'm an average student, I can only assume math comes naturally to the people that rate this class good. Makes you work too hard for math 99. Take Mandy Nash!
Finally I am in a class with a teacher who is very passionate about math, amazing. He answers all questions and explains everything is details. He makes sure you get it before moving to a new topic. It seems he really wants his students to succeed.
If you need to take precalculus, take it with Haji. He makes hard topics easy to understand and explains everything CLEARLY. He really wants you to understand the concepts intuitively, not just to memorize the formulas. His tests are easy and grades fairly. If you want some sold math skills and good grade, I would recommend you to take his class.
Rude, condescending and terrible teacher. Half of the class is lecture and the other half spends insulting the class, complaining about students, or blaming students for complaints he gets. Extensive use of text and Khan Academy is mandatory to learn anything in this class, because getting a straight answer out of him is next to impossible.
AVOID this teacher. It would be the best decision you have EVER made.
One of the worst math teacher I have ever had. He puts 8 to 12 questions on each quiz that we have never ever gone over them in class and he wants us to complete it in 40 minutes! You are lucky if you can finish half of the quiz! I do not recommend him.
He is an awful teacher. He needs to learn to respect his students and his job. He grades so hard and marks you down for the smallest things. He makes you look dumb when asking question. Everyone is failing and it is obvious to why…hard grader and very rude. If you have any reasonable sense of self-preservation avoid him.
Terrible professor, too much homework, hard tests, does not help, no "A" insight
This teacher is absolutely horrible super bad unclear RUDE! I should have dropped this class. I am an A student and love math. Very hard to get an A in his class, too much HW & hard quizzes. If you don’t mind to be ridiculed day after day and don’t care about your grade then this teacher is a perfect match for you. Otherwise, AVOID HIM AT ALL COST!
Quiz every weeks, lots of extra points, open book final. Drop one or two lower score quiz. His lecture is very clear and it's the example for quiz. Do homework and listen to his lecture, you will do ok.
I took this class last spring and really hated it. He spoke super fast, offered absolutely no help, and at times, he tended to be condescending. He read directly from the book and note, made lots of mistakes that we had to correct him. He made things too complicated when there were easier way to get the answer. Take your math with someone else.
He is unkind and insensitive to students. You have to read your book to understand anything. Attendance is required, but not worth the time. Stay at home, read the book, do your homework, and prepare yourself for his hard and long weekly quizzes. No wonder why half of the class dropped.
I took this class in Fall. Half of the class dropped off. Quiz every week. Hard quiz not easy. Luckily math is my strong. I got overall 100% (A). In the quiz, deducted the points on the silly little things. Lots of extra points. Open book final exam. I would not recommend for math beginner.
He has a very sarcastic manner about him and can become annoyed by "stupid" questions. He does teach the material in a clear way, but his personality can get in the way of your learning. Attendance is mandatory, and he expects you to be in class on time or you're considered late. He doesn't give homework, weekly quizzes, no mid-term.
Absolutely horrible teacher. So rude. Complains about student everyday for 15 minutes. If you ask question, he will yell at the student. Do not take his class.
He starts off really easy. I aced his first 3 quizes but suddenly in the middle of quarter, he decided to make his quizez incredibly hard. like unnecessary hard!!! but overall a fun instructor...
Haji is one of the last math teachers at BC who is truly passionate about teaching math. That being said he isn't a pushover. You have to work for your grade no matter what, but he does award people who stick out the class to the very end. If you come every day to class you will pass. The Math Lab was my second home this quarter.
terrible course i've ever attended. But after 3 weeks i have to withdraw because the rude and unreasonable teaching method. Would not recommend to register this intructor. believe me
The best teacher I ever had. He makes math very easy and fun. Just go to his class every day and write down and study whatever he emphasizes on and you get a good grade. If your test score is low, he gives you lots of extra credit to bring it up. Highly recommend him.
In the beginning of the year, I was a bit intimated to take Hajis class because of the mixed reviews. The first couple of weeks, I was too sure if I liked him. though finishing up the quarter now, I definitely can say I would take a class from him again. He really does care about the students learning, and he's also hilarious!
Awesome professor! A prof who actually cares about his students. Great at explaining things clearly and answering questions without being condescending. Wish I had more classes with him!
Mr Haji is gr8 !!!! take his class and listen to his lectures and youll get an easy A he gives pretty much lots of extra credits too
Take his class!!! His teaching methods were straight-forward. He explains concepts clearly, but does challenge you to think about problems. Go to his lectures. Five tests. Fair curve. Got a B+ over all, but I could've gotten an A if I'd put in the effort and attended regularly.
He is an awesome teacher! You just need to PAY ATTENTION in his class. He is really there for the students. Make sure to get a tutor if you aren't doing well after the first test. He is very helpful about that. No HW, but he gives practice problems and A LOTTTTT of Extra Credit.
Haji is very passionate about helping students learn and succeed. He explains things so well and presents the concepts in ways that make great sense. Show up to class, otherwise, you miss a lot, including his extra credit assignments. A good class if you plan on continuing in math.
Amazing teacher. He makes it very easy. Though I do not recommend it, I could skip about half the classes and still do fine. Easy extra credit assignments offered occasionally. Great sense of humor. I wish he would teach math 148. Probably the best math teacher at BC.
Professor Haji is my savior! He is the guy for you if you are a business major and math is not your thing! Took this class in winter with another Professor and failed it but the second time around with Professor Haji was amazing and I aced it! He gives out so many chances to boost your grade and test questions are exactly like his lecture examples.
Its like Jackie Chan and emptying the cup in the forbidden kingdom. you have to forget any old ways of doing math and do the exact way Haji shows work. Haji is a great enthusiastic person, i just disagree with his teaching method. The best time to ask for clarification is during lectures not after. SHOW EXACTLY LIKE HE WOULD SHOW WORK OR LOSE POINT
he called out many students and embarrassed them in front of the whole class. Everyone is afraid to ask questions because of that. quiz every week on material that is 10X harder and next level than what he taught us. class average on a quiz was 10 out of 30 and he blamed us for not knowing the material?
wouldnt take again. quiz every week, the material the quiz is on is completely next level to what he taught in class. He told us "if he makes the test easy the math department would get mad because students would actually pass" then said "he needs a few students to fail". horrible experience, i picked this class based on reviews. i hope this helps.
Not sure why Haji has such a bad overall score on this. Come to class EVERY session, and take notes on EVERYTHING he says, & you will succeed on all the quizzes. Drops the lowest quiz score, and gives some EC, especially towards the end, but don't rely on that! Never used the textbook/mathlab even once . Quizzes based off notes combined that week.
He didn't like me, I didn't like him. His quizzes are much harder than what is shown in class. When you try and ask a question, he likes to insult your intelligence and has a tendency to want people out of his class rather than in his lectures. He seems to always want to start conflict all of the time. Would absolutely not recommend.
Haji does not care about his students or their grades (he literally says it). Don't ask questions, he'll just make fun of you. He has a quiz every week and if you get the answer right, but don't show the work exactly the way that he teaches, you will get the whole problem wrong. On every single test the average grade was an F.
Haji doesn't tolerate distractions, like looking at FB or texting during class. He expects professional behavior. He's too harsh for children, but adults looking to REALLY learn the material love him. He's funny too, loves teaching, and he's invested in his student's success. Haji is awesome!!! Textbook is used for practice, not mandatory.
the class was great. the way he spoke and explained everything was good. however, at the beginning, the quizzes were difficult and the grade was low. he gives extra credit only on the quizzes. there's no homework, so your only way to earn points is through the quizzes each week.
I lost interest in math during my high school years. However Mr. Haji reminded me how much fun & important math can be. Taking his class was the best decision I have made. He is an amazing teacher & I would definitely take him again. He cares about his students & wants you to genuinely be successful. Make sure you attend every day & you'll be fine.
horrible teacher. save your money and just wait until another math class opens up. most of the class was failing 80% of the quarter until the end when he told us to just "guess A" on our last few multiple choice quizzes
The majority of your grade relies heavily on the quizzes he gives out weekly. He is harsh, saying that if you don't understand his lecture, you don't belong there. He also doesn't assign homework, so if you feel like you need more practice, you MUST study from the textbook in order to pass his class. Overall, I would not recommend him.
Randomly got angry with the class and quit teaching the class.
He was an easygoing professor I've met. Sometimes, he got crazy about some students who didn't participate at all or didn't respect him. His lectures were easy to understand. He provided lots of extra credits. Anyway, if you attend his class and pay attention, you'll pass the class with a B at least.
Very funny. Clear in what he expected us to know before teaching new things and his lectures are very understandable but are pretty fast. His quizzes aren't too tough but you HAVE to study for them. COME TO CLASS. PARTICIPATE! DON'T COMPLAIN! Has optional HW, but doesn't collect for credit. He ONLY grades the weekly quizzes and the final test.
Haji is very clear and straight forward about his requirements. He's willing to answer questions but its important in any science/math field to do your own leg work. He won't hold your hand. If you want to be successful with him, pay attention in class, take notes, and participate. It can be a fun class and he's funny too
