Prof. Hal has a wealth of real world knowledge which he correlates with the material. Good class, interesting, and pretty easy.

Professor Assael is one of the best professors I’ve ever had. He speaks and lectures to the class using real-world examples and experiences he’s gone through. He is very knowledgeable and has a tremendous amount of marketing experience. Each class is so engaging, informative, and entertaining that the time seems to fly by. I highly recommend him!!

I really like professor Assael because he knows marketing and makes the class interesting. You have to attend class, but the class is fun and you will learn a lot about the subject. There is one short presentation which is easy because it is only 3-5 minutes, Easy! Assael cares about his students and operates the class so they succeed. Great class.

I took Assael because of the reviews on this site, HUGE MISTAKE! Everyone copies from the book for hw, he says nothing. He is very blunt and rude at times. He claims he is organized. Tests: are easy because he doesn't read your answer, he just looks at the length and marks a grade. I feel like I wasted my time in this class.

In response to the comment below, you must have missed Prof Hal's intent. He really cares about his students. Maybe by rude, you meant blunt, but that's all constructive criticism to make us better future employees. I definitely recommend his class. He brings his real-life experiences coupled with the latest news in marketing YOURSELF and firms.

MBA style teaching at an undergrad price. Learning through interactions and discussions. Hal teaches beyond the theories of the book; hands-on learning, professionalism, valuable life lessons. Cares about his students, always there to help, easy to talk to. You WILL know your classmates and build friendships, a major reason why this is a must take.

Professor Assael gives you a wake up call to the fact that you are responsible for marketing yourself! The text book is used to introduce business concepts and examples concerning marketing. This Professor was a little hard, however if he hadn't been, I wouldn't have passed the class. He has a formula for teaching that seems to work. He's organized, thorough, and always interesting to listen to. He brings real life situations to the classroom which makes for entertaining lectures. I'd take him again if he taught other classes.

What you get out of a class is based on what you put in. Professor Hal really expects participation and if you are willing to be heard, he is willing to listen. He understands the students wants and needs, especially in today's world and his lectures help us understand what we need to do in marketing ourselves to be more noticed for our futures.

Knows what he's doing. I pay dearly for my classes with time and money and I expect my moneys worth. I got it in this class. Learned more in this class than any other college class so far into my senior year. Funny thing was that I enjoyed it at the same time. Looked forward to class lectures, I was allowed to voice my concerns and opinions.

As long as you participate, this class will be both helpful and quite easy. He gives the problems that are going to be on the test to us prior to the exam and his lectures come from real life experiences, not out of a textbook. Got a 100% on both the midterm and the final and I am a 3.0 student

His approach to Marketing goes beyond the text. He teaches about marketing products and services, with a great deal of emphasis on "Marketing Ourselves". I have never had a Professor so concerned about how we are looked at by our future employers. He really cares about our futures and our successes. I usually don't do this, but he's Special.

Connecting real world experience in the work place to the course subject matter. Prof. Assael's insistence on giving presentations to the class utilizing real work place material and situations were invaluable. The marketing plan my team presented in both written form and to live class was an experience that will stay with me for years to come.

Professor Hal was very detailed on his expectations from Day 1 as long as you are in class and do the work on time he makes the class worth attending. He has plenty of experience in the subject matter and defiantly brought that knowledge to the classroom. Although at times the amount of work for his class was overwhelming, it was worth it.

Assael is the BEST. Knowledgeable, helpful, clear, organized, professional in every sense, holds students accountable, made sure we got the most out of the course, teaches from a place of real life experience as well as text book knowledge, challenges and encourages the students, best professor I've had at ULV and this is my 4th course.

He delivered true to life experiences and followed up with our text. He is not only a professor, he found a way to trigger my interest so that I only wanted perfection on each and every assignment. Without a professor like Hal, I would not have realized my true potential, was very sad to see the class end, but all great things must come to an end.

With 2 weeks to go to complete this course, and this being my first class in an MBA Program, I hope all my classes will be taught by Professors just like Professor Hal. I learned more in the last 8 weeks in 1 class than any of my undergraduate classes. He teaches with passion and treats all of us like we are his family. An unbelievable man.

He is more than a teacher, he listens to us and understands us. He explains how to market ourselves to make us better for our futures. He knows so much and has so many experiences that he shares to help us understand what the world is like and what we need to expect when we start looking for jobs.

I thank him for allowing me the opportunity for taking his class. The information I obtained from his class will help me succeed in the new chapter of my life. He truly taught me things that I will never forget and it had such an impact on how I market myself today. It was a privilege to experience a class with such impact.

I've graduated two years ago, but still come to professor Hal for mentoring and guidance. He's literally one of the best gems at ULV, so if you can take one of his classes, I strongly suggest it. Professor Hal was the best professor that I have taken at ULV. He wants his students to do well, and will set you up to succeed. Just make sure to put in the effort. Just finished this class. We had to do a Marketing Plan which I didn't want to do, but now I am grateful that I did. I learned so much in this class. More than any other. On my team I felt like I was a big contributor which made me feel needed and respected and liked. I wish Professor Hal taught other classes, I will never forget him.

I am international student from China. Best teacher I have had. I enjoy listening to his speeches, he inspired me to be a better person in and out of school. He is very liked by all students. He pressure us to speak more English so we can be better at English speaking. I will miss him.

This is BS. I was in this class with a couple of guys that should not be allowed in college. They had a definite edge to them. Professor Hal is honestly 1 of the best Professors I have had at ULV. Yes he teaches like we are his kids because he cares about us more than some professors. He takes a personal interest in our succeeding.

You have to speak in his class, participation is important. He is a very good teacher. I took the class last year and he recently helped me get a car for my room mate. He has a lot of connections in the car business and we got a great deal and my room mate was treated very professional thanks to Prof. Hal. I recommend him. Good guy.

This is my second class with him for obvious reasons, he is a wonderful professor who cares about his students and wishes them nothing but the best. He prepared us well for our exams and made learning easier than other professors that I have had. He always comes to class prepared to discuss the days news as it relates to our class subject.

I'm ex-military and not a young man. I thought going to college at my age could be really tough, but Prof. Hal made the process easy, not the class but the process, if you know what I mean. He's very likeable and knows his business well.

Do exactly what is written in the syllabus and you should pass with an A grade. The downside is the group project because you will most likely end up with slackers, so make sure to keep them in check. He's a fine gentleman. But, he can easily go berserk if you aren't paying attention or doing the homework. So do the homework and pay attention.

I GOT 100% MORE THAN I EXPECTED. HIS STRICT TECHNIQUE KEPT ME AND THE REST OF THE CLASS IN CHECK WHICH WAS GREAT, I FEEL I GOT MY MONEYS WORTH AND MUCH MORE. He taught me more than I expected. I didn't feel like I was just going through the motions. His class was enjoyable with many different learning tools. I enjoyed the class and might take him again later in another different class that he teaches. Good dresser.

Great Professor. I had to miss some classes due to an ailing family member, but Prof. Hal worked with me and got me through the class. He is very good at what he does, he's understanding and sympathetic to every ones needs. I learned a great deal from him.

Not what I expected in one of my first classes in college. His teaching methods made me want more. I was concerned about not making time for school, but I now I feel like a sponge and want to get even more. Taught me a great deal while making it fun and interesting at the same time. I will take another class with him down the road.

He's a little on the hard side, but I went there to learn. He lectured on the questions in the book which made it easier to follow and understand. Everything he talked about was in our homework which helped me a lot in getting my "A". He's a first class professor that shows a great deal of compassion for his students.

His tests aren't hard but they take a while to answer all the questions. He goes over the questions from the test before it, which helps a great deal. Nice guy with a lot of smarts. Helpful in understanding the subject material. Cares about the class as a whole and wants everyone to do good and succeed. I learned a lot.

His lectures are so motivating, I leave class on a high. He's approachable and easy to talk to, not like some past professors I have had. This was actually my second class with him and I would take a third but I am 2 classes away from graduating. Good looking also, I wish he was 30 years younger.

Took this class at the College of the Canyons. Professor Hal taught me more in 10 meetings than some professors have taught me in a year. His experience is overwhelming and he is so understanding. Single parent with a child and I have 2 jobs, missed some classes, he made me do the work but was fair about it. Great teacher in life's lessons.

I never do this kind of stuff, but this professor warrants this. He's a cool dude that knows what he is doing. He rides me for always showing up late, but I deserve it. He is very fair and honest in his teaching methods. Wish I had met him years ago, would have taken more of his classes, this is my last class, oh well. Maybe in the MBA.

I am not a very good student. Been going to college for almost 6 years. I actually hate school, but Prof Hal convinced me that I had to do this. My only chance on getting a good job is to finish. He was somewhat of a parent role, but that was good, I haven't any parents. Someday I will come back and thank him, this will have to work for now.

Almost everyday I was the last one to leave class and he would take the time to chat with me about my current and future life dreams. He is a great listener and cares about his students. He knows so much and he is always willing to help students grow. He is a fantastic Professor. I hope to take classes later in the MBA Program with him.

2nd class with this prof. and I would take more if I could, but LOL, I am almost done with BA. I enjoyed everything about his way of doing things, I actually enjoyed going to his classes. His style was never boring like other profs. He was fair and understanding, and could relate to the students. If I come back for MBA I hope to take him again.

I read the previous student comments. Yes, he was a hard professor, but I came to learn and I feel I got my moneys worth. He's not passive, he makes you work hard if you want to get an A in the class. One of the hardest profs. I have ever had, but it was worth it and I learned more in his class than any other class in the last 2 years at ULV.

Just had Prof. Hal, one of the best Profs. ever. He gave us a lot to do, but he made it fun and interesting. Has great real life stories to share and makes the class enjoyable. Way too cool. This Prof. made my last class in my senior year outstanding. Lectures were great, assignments legit, homework reasonable, and all in all it was a fun and interesting class. Really enjoyed the fellowship of the students as well, they were all on the same page and pleasant.

Where was he when I started college 25 years ago? I would have never taken a break for so long. He motivated me to finish school more than my husband and kids. He understood me and assisted me with a few difficult tasks. I really liked him and he cared about all of us. Great man.

Professor Hal will be one of your top most remembered and loved professors throughout your whole college career. Everyday was a new story and a new lesson learned. As long as you participate and do the readings, this class will be enjoyable. Professor Hal gives out all the Exam questions ahead of time, so if you do the studying, you'll get the A.

Prior to taking the Mid-term Exam I was panicking. I called him and we met for coffee at Starbucks. He helped me understand the concepts better. I was too embarrassed to ask questions in class. I took test and got A-. he is a good man and all the students like him. He is a fair professor and good teacher.

Took his Professional Selling class 2 years ago and saw he was teaching it again. I might just take it again because I enjoyed it so much. I went into sales and sell insurance and because of his techniques and examples I am earning over 120k today and have no student loans. The guy is brilliant, friendly, and interesting to listen to.

Most enjoyable class ever. !6 days of great information and fun at the same time during Jan Term. He knows his stuff and treated all of us like adults even though there were a few that were questionable. Will take him again in the future for other classes. Very compassionate towards our needs.

Demands a lot however it's all worthwhile. The end result is that you learn a great deal more in his class than in others. Great story teller of past experiences in the Automobile Business, Banking, and Education. Very likable and friendly. We all went to lunch to discuss how waiters and waitresses sell. Fun class.

Took this class on Saturdays for 10 weeks. The time went by so quickly because the Professor always had the class engaged. I really enjoyed all that was said and felt that he knew a great deal about the subject matter. I learned more in this class than any other so far and I feel good about it. The best Prof. ever. He works harder than the students to ensure that his teaching philosophy works. Really enjoyed the class and the outside activities like the campus tour and class dinner out. This is the second class that I took with this Professor. I thought the first was great, but the second class was better than the first. He teaches in a way that you remember everything and it's interesting as well. He's fun and totally into the subject matter. Great Professor who understands a working person's schedule and how tough it is to go to school when you have a family as well. The work load was reasonable and I did enjoy this class. The Article presentations really made the class interesting and it brought me up to what was happening around the world. Strongly recommend this class to anyone.

Great Guy. His style of teaching is different but it works, going over the material is a constant and we all participate in the process. No power points, just point blank discussions on how it all comes together. Teaching the way it should be done. Wish my kids were old enough to take him, but he will be long retired by then.

Liked him just dont agree w/ his views & wish he didnt talk politics so much. Pretty easy class, but participation & presentations are required so if youre shy youve been warned.

For someone to state that this Professor discusses politics too much is preposterous. Marketing and Economics go hand in hand, and the worlds politics definitely effects both. I took this class and Professor Hal is a 10 in my book. He used Politics to define where we were, where we are now, and where we are going. Great Instructor.

Had no idea that Conflict & Change would be such an interesting class. I will keep the 2 short books we used for future reference. It was a constant open dialogue that made it so interesting. I feel better about myself and look forward to accomplishing and putting in place some of the things I learned in this class. Hal was a great facilitator.

Hal is a great professor, he is kind and caring. He just wants you to participate in his class which is an experience, a good experience. The whole class is just sitting around discussing current news topics and their relevence.

Online because of Covid, he made it interesting, lots of reading and writing, but really, how else are you going to learn? This class really should be in person, but what are you going to do? Hal was great and I would take him again. He knows his stuff and explains it all well. Very considerate to all his students.

He gave us lots of homework, but what else did we have to do? We were locked in for Covid. He knows his stuff and his style of teaching was welcoming. The dialogues were very informational and I understood everything, something new for me. I will take another class from him in the future.

During Covid, taking a college course was easy, I had all the time in the world to read the assignments. Professor Hal was cool and always there when you needed to ask him a question. I will take his other classes in the future.

The Professor is a professional. What I didn't know, I learned in his class. There was a great deal to read, but this is college and reading was expected. His article presentation program was awesome. I never read the newspaper before this class, let alone the WSJ, but now I feel so informed about what's going on in the world. He was cool.
