Super fun teacher. She loves to use technology when available, so be prepared for a lot of computer use. Only downside is the amount of group work we do (which doesn't so much have anything to do with her, my group members just sucked) but she makes it easy to get an A as long as you do everything in the syllabus. Mrs. Draper is one of the nicest teachers i have ever had. I was dreading having to take a communication class due to the almost guaranteed awkwardness of standing and talking to a class. Mrs. Bowers made sure everyone was comfortable in the class room. Classes were fun and flew by. Almost no textbook work and all grades were fairly easy.

She was a great professor! I was not interested in taking this class at all, but it turned out to be great. Everything she taught was very useful for our speeches. She didn't rely on the textbook that much except for the midterm and final which were really easy if you paid attention to the reviews in class.

Mrs Bowers was my favorite professor I've had at AACC. I was a little nervous before taking this class because I don't like public speaking but she made the class easy and fun! She has a great attitude and really wants her students to do well.She let us pick every speech topic which made class very interesting. I would recommend her In a heartbeat!

The best communications professors out there! Really enjoyed her class. She is extremely approachable and clear about what she wants her students to do. Grades fairly and is understanding about how nerve-wracking public speaking can be. Study the guides she gives you for tests and you will do fine!

This class was my favorite class I have ever taken. She has a "flipped" class, meaning she doesn't lecture, but instead the class discusses the information need for the next topicassignment. If you get up and give the speeches you should have no problem passing Speaking is tough but Prof. Draper-Bowers makes it fun! I recommend this Professor!

Mrs. Bowers is not only a good teacher, she's an all around cool woman. Her care for her students is through the roof & is always going above and beyond to make sure everything is understood and fair. She's flexible, understanding and absolutely loves what she does. Sign up for Draper-Bowers if you don't like public speaking. She is very nice, and makes speaking in front of everyone comfortable. All the assignments are doable, not a lot of homework.

She really did make the classroom like a family. Always laughing and having fun. Its an easy A and its inevitable to get at least a B. Only thing is you have to keep track of your own grade and her grading is easy but not always consistent. You can bank on an A or B if you put a little effort into the class. Not to much homework. Awesome teacher!

UMMM ... Awesome teacher ... UMMM really nice ... UHHH Makes the classroom a comfortable environment. UHHH I would recommend! UMM teaches you a lot about speaking and its fundamentals. UHH also very encouraging. Lastly, she will stop you from saying all those Umm's and Uhhh's during a speech ;) Have fun!!!!

I learned a lot in this class, and she taught it pretty straight forward.

She is an awesome professor. Fun and easy class, At least every other class has a speech to be given. She gives a good amount of extra credit. As long as you don't say "um or uh" and can give a good speech, you're golden. Tests are super easy. Text book wasn't really used that much. I'd definitely take another class of hers.

If you take any other Comm Professor you are doing it wrong. Honestly the best professor I had at AACC and I legitimately enjoyed classes.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Mrs. Bowers really cares about her students and wants everyone to do well. She has a passion for what she does and I love everything about the way she teaches. I took this course over WINTER but if you keep up with all the work, you will have no trouble getting an A. Oh, and don't say "Um" or "Uh" much LOL.

Mrs. Bowers made every student feel like part of a group. Her teaching style made it easy to learn new things and she always encouraged us to do better. I liked the NO WHINING policy she sticks to because then students are forced to have a better attitude in class. Very fair grading and clear instructions.

The instructor really worked hard to keep everyone involved in the assignments and projects done in class. We were given plenty of time to complete the work and she went out of her way to provide us with good resources.

She is great! If you're not taking her class for communications you're doing it wrong. She is really hands on with the class and make sure everyone is involved. Just watch your "uhms, and uhs" during speeches. Hands down one of the best professors at AACC.

Prof. Bowers was absolutely one of the best teachers i have ever had at AACC. Everyone gets nervous with public speaking, but she really goes out of her way to make everyone feel great about their work! as long as you do some short readings, and go to class, you are golden and ready for an A! I would totally take another class with her.

Taking a speech class online was super scary but she really made it fun and useful. Speeches were filmed and uploaded to YouTube (which takes forever) so it was easy to share my video and I was able to keep it private with the unlisted setting. She encouraged me and gave me specific ways to do better. Awesome experience!

Professor Bowers was a good teacher. She was clear with her instructions and assisted students any time they needed it. I felt she was pretty lenient as well. She also assigns people into groups which helped you get to meet other people you were in the class with. I liked that. All in all, easy class.

Awesome professor!

I don't understand the other comments saying she was extremely hard. This class was easy. I took it in the winter (2 week program). she emailed me back each time within 24 hours and graded everything within 2-3 days of the time it was due. Definitely take her, and don't be afraid to email her.

Professor Bowers has a great attitude about learning and creates fun activities for class meetings. I thought the tests had good information but really detailed. It made all of us a little nervous!

Best online class I have taken so far! It was weird to record speeches at first but it got easier. There was lots of help from the instructor and i will use what I learned in my english classes for papers.

This professor goes above and beyond for her classes! It was mass comm and we got to choose our own groups and develop a business plan and present news stories. We did blogs online and it was cool to learn all the advertising tricks.

Really nice, easy teacher

Mrs. Haley is very fun to work with and she makes sure that her classes are always interactive and that there's always room for discussion among students. I liked her teams dynamic and it made everything very easy. The tests were not hard at all and I enjoyed every presentation I did because she makes everyone feel comfortable and at ease.

She is wonderful to students! One of our classmates from Nigeria did not have money for the textbook and she gave him her extra copy. She also helped me with my college application essay and wrote me a letter of rec. I will never forget her kindness.

Enjoyed the class even though I don't like public speaking. Learned a lot about getting comfortable giving speeches.

Make sure you take your time on the assignments. Make sure you practice more than one time to rehearse your speeches.

Ms. Drapper is an incredible Professor. She was tough and expected high results but was fair and it wasnt impossible to get an A. Shes one of my favorite professors and really got to know me as a person.

As far as online class goes, this was a great class. Easy to complete all assignments and submit on time. Speeches are filmed and uploaded, only need 3 people which is much better than in front of an entire class. If you need a public speaking class take her. Easy class if you do the work and turn it in on time.

Professor Draper is a great professor and overall a great person. She is caring and relatable and replies to emails very quickly. She teaches the course well and gives great feedback after speeches. Do not pass up the opportunity to have her as a professor, you will not regret it! She is a gem to have apart of the AACC faculty.

EASY 8 week class, and I learned A LOT. Prof Draper was clear in her expectations. 3 big speeches, 2-3 impromptu and a final, which is online. She recommends the book, but youll be ok without it. If you show up and put in effort, you will get an A in this course. She makes an intimidating class feel stress free. She usually lets class out early.

Professor Draper is great! She is down to earth and is super helpful. I am so happy I ended up with her after they switched my classes last minute. She helps when you need it and she is a fair grader; however, she makes you work for it. The way she teaches, is you basically teach yourself" I would totally take her again, she helps build character!

Overall, Prof Draper is a good professor. There is a lot of buy work in the class but all of the work is relevant. She is a super easy grader and it won't be hard to get a good grade in the class. The textbook is definitely a must, as you can't do any of the work without it. I definitely recommend the online version of the book to search easier.

I took Dr. Drapers class over the winter semester. I was terrified of public speaking, but she was so helpful and understanding. She eased me nerves and reassured me that this was doable. The two week course was a lot of work, but it was definitely manageable. If you have to take a communications class, I would definitely recommend Dr. Draper.

Prof. Draper went out of her way to meet with me and other students to help. Assignments all had good instructions, templates and examples which really made the work so much easier to complete! Quickly graded work and seemed to be very fair when scoring our speeches.

Professor Draper is the best professor I've had up until now. She is very approachable and easy to relate to. Her class hybrid style of assignments are clear and she gives good feedback. I was out for 2 weeks due to mental health, and she still graded my assignments with just slight penalty. Additionally, the skills learned are definitely useful.

I took the two week winter course which is 15 weeks or work condensed down to 2!! You have to have access to the class book. Theres a option to buy it for the paper copy (which I did) or shell link everyone to the online copy. There was a test do everyday based directly on the textbook. Easy pass on the two speeches.

Professor Draper is great for this intro to COM course. I took an online synchronous class, so we used the virtual meetings for discussion questions and general lecture. The textbook can be used during quizzes and speeches weren't too difficult to complete. Prof. is kind and understanding, not expecting perfection on speeches for intro students.

She is Amazing! From the beginning, I could tell she truly cares about her students and does everything to be sure they succeed! With that, you must put in the effort to come to class and do the work and you will pass easily! I was terrified of public speaking but her class was enjoyable and by the end, I was sad to leave! I 100% would take again.

Ms. Draper helped the class so much! Students were terrified when they first get there but by the time we got to the last speech most people were really comfortable. You will learn how to use research, write outlines, create slideshows, and put together your ideas

Even though I hate public speaking, I LOVED her. She was super nice, and she explains everything, and if you have questions, she'll answer them fully. She gives great feedback and always makes you feel welcomed and supported.

Be prepared to take quizzes almost every day for the next 2 weeks, but it's ok they are open book with plenty of time. free book online which I recommend to use rather than buying a physical one because online has the search bar. VERY helpful when taking quiz.

Good professor. But sometimes grading was unclear. For speeches it was unclear what points were really taken off for. But all assignments were laid out at the start of the course.
