New professor, hope they will "keep" him. He speaks very fast and has an accent, but teaches physics very well as far as explaining where all the forces are in space and where the equations apply. He makes sense of the math. Very laid back, but there is no question as to whether he knows his stuff. I think he presents physics very well in general.
He is a great teacher, but his grading, dear god. He gives you a random grade based on his mood and whether you have made him happy that week or not. He'll give one person a 50 and another 70 for the same questions wrong.
Stay away ,change major even you will hate physics if you take him .
Every thing said about this guy is true ,dont take his class you have to be a genius to pass other wise you wont make it guarnteed big F or D
Please if u are a future engineer, stay the heck away from this professor. He is not sure or good with his stuff, even if u take harder professors like Montanna or lamela at least at the end of the semester you will understand the material. Tried my hardest in the class but failed it. PLEASE STAY AWAY.
bad stay away worst professor in plant earth.
Difficult to understand. Homework assigned has nothing to do with the tests. At times he can't figure out the problems. In the labs he is unprepared and doesn't show how to setup and doesn't assist. His grading system is a mystery. For being off a decimal point u could get -5 today and -10 next week. Will answer questions when he feels like it.
He is a great teacher as I did my exam totally based on his lectures. I was working full time in summer and taking other classes so could not study much but getting B+ is only credited to his teaching style.
Great professor, very intelligent and knows how to make physics looks more or less easy. I was just looking to register for Phys-134 with him again after taking analytical physics I but he is not giving it this fall. Highly recommended!
Lab course. He didnt teach at all or prep for the lab. He didnt know how to use the equipment. And he couldn't set up the lab. For the Final we asked what would be covered. His said not to worry about it. The final had questions that weren't covered in the manual. He said that he covered it during his lecture and it's too bad you if didnt take it.
This guy is the worst professor, he counts one question on a test for 45 points stay away
worst professor ever! i am taking him, and half of the class dropped already. His questions are worth 45 points, no partial credit. He doesnt answer questions clearly. And it seems, he doesnt like to teach! research before taking him. but if i could give a suggestion: STAY AWAY
I find him as a great teacher. he gives 10% of the total grade just for attending and taking his class seriously. He practices a lot of problems in class prior to each test. If you review them you could get as much as 100%, easily.
He is a very good professor. His teaching methods are very practical and easy to understand. I would recommend him to any student as a physics professor for he is very smart and pleasant.
I do like his teaching. It was informative and taught me new tricks and quicker ways to solve problems that I didn't know. He was direct and straight forward and didn't waist any time on anything that was pointless.
Class went by fast. It was not boring like other physics classes
One of the best classes I have taken. Very Fair in his grading, scales when tests are too hard, and even drop tests sometimes.
One of the best professors at the college. Good lecturer, try his best to make you understand the material.
This was one of the worst classes I took at middlesex. He doesn't help you and lectures are boring. You do not learn anything and will not get a decent grade. I would not recommend his class.
Avoid him at all costs. He does not help you and makes tons of mistakes. I took his class and struggled the whole semester. It was the worse professor I ever took. You are better off taking anyone else but this guy.
He is great professor. I have never taken physics a day in my life until her class. I learned a lot! And he makes the things look easy. As long as you attend and lookup the problems practiced in class, you can be sure of an easy A!!
Great professor! make sure you redo the problems practiced in class!!!!!
He is very helpful and knowledgeable. Go to him for help if you need it. he is a great teacher and makes class interesting. Study for tests, focus on the material practiced in class and you'll be very fine.
He was very helpfull in the lab section. He answers all your questions and make you understand how to relate the lecture material to the labwork. very easy going. I learned in his lab far more than I learned in the lab of Phy125. A great professor...
ok with helpfulness and lenient with grading
Great lecturer, wants students to learn as much as possible in his class. Review well before testing. Lenient in his grading.
His exams are exactly like the online homework problems and he's very good with giving you partial credit on exams, but he can't teach physics. Get ready to teach it to yourself. There are about 5 exams and one gets dropped. I just studied from doing the homework. Try to find the homework solutions online bc they help a lot.
He is a really intelligent guy but with all the respect he is a horrible teacher. If you can't sit for hours and teach yourself the material than don't take him, especially for labs that he always came unprepared for. If you do end up taking him make sure you do all the hw problems and the problems that he solves in class.
Great professor! If you're planning to go to NJIT, Rutgers or any good school this is the professor you wanna take. He really cares. His method is straight and very practical and will teach you lots of skill to solve physics problems and makes sense of the math part. Also his is very lenient in his grading
Professor Alouach is not the professor you want to take for analytical physics. You will be teaching yourself the material. Lectures are not very clear, I never truly felt comfortable. Once you are on your own, homework and tests seem ten times harder. Fact is, he is not a good teacher. Put in an intense effort and you'll pull through . I got an A
He's a great teacher and you will learn a lot. Much better than the professor I had in Physics I
He is a very good instructor who is extremely student-oriented. As many of her former students will often state, her analytical physics courses will prepare you much better for future courses at Rutgers or NJIT.
Worst guy I've had. Speaks with an accent that's hard to understand. Class is extremely boring. He is a very tough grader. Told the class he would give a take home test and then switched it to in class and made it very difficult. Class is hard to pass, his problems are to ridiculously difficult I studied at least 15 hours a week and got an an F.
This professor is the worst I have had yet. Don't understand his lectures. Don't take his class
has difficulty explaining things. online homework is very difficult and he will not help you go over it. tests are literally copied from elsewhere or directly from online homework. online homework is 15 percent of the grade but doesn't include unlimited chances nor does it offer any help in solving the problems
Took him for PHYS 123 and the equivalent of PHYS124 at Rutgers. His class was relatively hard but when I took PHYS II at Rutgers, it was almost a walk in the park (ended up with an A) compared to 123. Even if you don't like Physics, he will help you to think logically and apply these concepts to other real world applications. Thanks Professor!
he is an incredible teacher, his lectures are very clear and does his best to make things look simple; and his tests are fair. Do your homework and ask questions if you are struggling and he will make sure you do well! Challenge yourself and don't go for the easy physics course, you ll be only hurting yourself!
Half of his tests are based on the homework. The other half are conceptual questions where you really need to understand the concept. He has a tendency to get his own practice problems wrong in class. And is not clear during lecture. He gets confused himself half the time. It's alot of self studying when you take a class with Alouach.
Hes a very good professor. He started class by going over Vectors and Vector addition. He breaks it down and explain until you understand. I wish I took him for physics I. Practice the homework and you will pass the exams.
Its college, not high school level. Dont except it to be any easier and try to get used to it. Hes the best professor in Physics you can take. I took him for PHYS I and II. Doing the homework is key and he will tell you that. Practice the homework and youll get an A, for sure.
Physics is my worst subject but I had to take both Phy. 1 and 2. I took him again because I understand him more than any other professor I had in the past. He is so easy to get along with but at the same time very smart. he breaks the things down and make you understand. He's awesome
He's an overall great professor. He teaches very well, and he is serious in his class, but he is very concerned with how well the class is doing as a whole. His exams are based directly off the homework and the practice problems he gives you in class. I'm planning on taking him again for Phy II.
Physics is not an easy subject, so you really need to study for better grades. However, professor Alouach is the one who willing to help you anytime. Also, if you want to do good in his class then do homework and attend classes for understanding concept questions. Overall, I really recommend this professor because he is a great professor.
Professor Alouach one of the few professor at the college who are well qualified in their subject matter. I learned far more than in Physics I. I really which I would have taken him for Physics I. Glad to have taken his class..!!
Good thing I know the subject or else I would have failed! Aaaaaaand I'm pretty sure some of the good reviews are written by him. Text analysis, ladies & gentlemen. Nice guy & all but always in a rush to be somewhere other than in the classroom. Oh, & tells you you're wrong, finds out you're right, then tries to pretend he never made a mistake.
If you want to take a class where the professor has his GPS set to leave halfway into lecture, go ahead. It's not like he's going to pay attention to you during lab anyway b/c he is busy grading during class time and nodding at your direction as if you're a servant when you ask him anything. He lacks respect and has this authority complex to him.
Most students I know like his teaching. He's kind and likes to help. If you put an effort you'll be surprised..:)
If you care about learning the concepts of physics he is the "best" if not find somebody else.
Many problems in the exams are straight from the homework. Curves each test.
DO NOT TAKE if you're new to physics 2. He never showed us how a voltmeter and ammeter work during the first lab, which for someone new, would need a fair bit of explaining. Rarely ever helps during lab, and doesn't give decent explanations for anything . From what ive seen, this guy couldnt care less for the individual student
he did a fine job teaching our physics 2 class . I took a partial semester of physics 2 in the spring but dropped it because I could not grasp the concepts partially due to a less than enthusiastic physics 1 teacher. I did learn some interesting concepts this semester.
I found him to be an awesome Professor because he challenges students during lecture. Hes constantly asking questions and keeping students participating and paying attention. His feedback really helped me learn.
I could not have asked for a better professor. Very intelligent with a strong background in his field. He is very helpful and he always help solving the online homework.
If you pay attention, participate, do the homework, you will pass his class with a very good grade.
In my opinion he is not the best educator. He hates a lot questions and reads off of a powerpoint 85% of the time which is mostly useless. Not only that but he really hates physics 2 so your learning experience suffers. The homework is all done online and the exams are partially based off of them. Very tough grader, definitely avoid him if you can
Great Professor. He made me learn a lot about physics and its foundations as a core subject in everyday life.
OK professor. Does take the time to teach us. Uses videos to help us further understand.
He is very knowledgeable about the subject and gives much insight. He was difficult to understand at times. It was good that he incorporated videos graphs and diagrams which helped tremendously. Overall I would rate it very good.
good job. excellent demonstrations
He did take time to explain unfamiliar concepts in class. But I always felt like he was unprepared. We would spend a lot of time trying to solve just one problem. He would cancel classes and never did any review in class for the exams. Class atmosphere was boring. The final exam was a disappointment (Everything seemed so new!).
Professor Alouach had dull lectures. He only reads off of slides. He gets frustrated when students ask questions and is rude. His homework is much more difficult than material taught. More than half of our lectures were ended early because he didn't want to teach anymore. Finally, his grading criteria for tests were tough. No partial credit ever.
Professor Alouach was boring and only taught from slides. He was condescending towards students and laughed when they asked questions. He didn't prepare before class. He would do problems wrong on the board because he had not done them on his own yet. Never gave partial credit on exams. Was very hard to work with. Hope to never see him again.
Unless you like teaching yourself, do not take this professor. He wasnt prepared for lab or lecture. He would do problems wrong on the board and realize halfway through. Tests were graded harshly & he never gave partial credit. Our final was not like the review he provided. Lectures were boring. He was condescending when students asked questions.
Very good Professor and the best I ever had. Having him as your professor is just a blessing. Very accommodating and helpful. He understands the material and know how to teach. All questions are always welcome. I highly recommend him. Try your best and you will be delighted.
Very good Professor and the best I ever had. He was very helpful with the lab procedure and teach. Glad to have him in lab 2 as I learned a great deal about graphing and data processing. H really cares.
While Dr. Alouach lecture is somewhat fast, he definitely explains it well. You get the full program and he does not cut material. He seems to have a good command and is an expert in the concepts of physics. I would have got an A If I had studied more.
I took him for four credits: two lectures and two labs. I wish he taught chemistry as well...! Thank you.
Do not take Physics with this teacher. Hamid is extremely rude & not accommodating. He doesnt answer questions clearly, leaves class early, and is a harsh grader. Also, he definitely writes his own ratings on this website... read through all the good ones & you will notice that the language is very similar. Youll thank me later for not taking him
Great professor. Just do your best in the tests and you should be OK.
Very good and most knowledgeable professor Physics I had. I liked his physics classes and I highly recommend him. He knows physics and you can tell he enjoys it too. If you work hard, you will be fine.
Good professor.
I really liked taking physics 1 lec with Dr. Alouach, he made the lectures fun and exciting. He used to do many problems in class to make the concepts easier.
One of the best professors. He really helped us with all of the reviews.
professor Alouach is an excellent teacher, I was very afraid to take this curse but he made me feel confident with his way of teaching.
good professor who really knows his stuff and really helps you understand the information.
Very good lecturer, sometimes funny..:). Taking him again next semester for my PHY-124.
Attendance is 5% of your grade so go to class. He goes over hw problems throughout lecture so write them down so you know how to do the hw. Usually weekly webassign hw is due. Tests are scantron so no partial credit but he does take a lot of his questions from webassign so if you do the hw youll do well
Put in the work, if you're going to be transferring to a University after your local community you will find professors who teach much harder than him. He doesn't skimp on the material and he is fair with grading. Boring lectures but they're packed with value.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is the worst professor and dont answer to student questions. If you want to self study then take cuz I personally dont understand his teaching style. He is also so rude with students. Also, his lectures are so Boring.
hes okay, but make sure you get a chegg,
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS! Hamid Alouach has to be one of the worst professors I have ever witnessed. From boring lectures which are hard to listen to and even read because of his terrible handwriting to getting into fights and making threats to his students. He takes offence to any questions and is extremely unhelpful. DO NOT TAKE!
This teacher sucks! He's rude and lazy. He also is inconsiderate as heck, he thinks our worlds revolves around his class only. Too high expectations especially for an online course. He sucks and talks soo much and doesn't interact with his students at all
This professor makes you fall asleep during class, especially on a Friday night during his 4 hour long lectures that start at 6:00 at night. Gets confused when someone asks questions and replies with an attitude. If you want to self learn in physics, this guy is just for you!
Very chill professor. I dont like his time frame that he chooses to teach, but overall very easy professor!
I took him for Physics lecture & Physics lab and it wasnt too hard. The lecture part is challenging so be prepared to study a lot but the physics lab is not too bad. The physics lab was usually 1 hr-30 mins long. Just make sure to fix any mistakes you make on the labs cause it will help you with the final exam.
He's very knowledgeable and you'll learn a lot in his class. Mainly, he practices lot of homework. and tests are basically right out of the lecture/homework. Very fair.
H knows how his material and how to teach. I didn't really use the book but must do the homework online. I learned a lot for here!
I took him for physics 133 and 134 . He is a good professor and easy going. Most of his tests are from the webassign homework. Study them understand the concept. Some though problems just memorized them. Got A in both classes.
It was my second time taking him for physics lab 2 and I dont regret it! He was very clear on what he wanted for every lab. I passed with an A
Professor Alouach’s class gives me so much anxiety, he is not accommodating at all. He does not help much during the actual labs either . Don’t take this prof
Do not take this professor if your work schedule leaves you little time to get to his class. If you're late by 5-10 minutes, he will mark you down as absent even if you took part in experiments and helped write lab reports. He won't grade you if you are "absent".
Very good professor and most knowledgeable in the physics department. I liked his physics classes and I highly recommend him. He knows physics and you can tell he enjoys it too. If you practice the HW, you will be fine.
He knows the material in and out, and he's very good at explaining it. Gives many examples and practice problems. Don't really use the book but need the code for HWs. The class is fun but challenging so get ready to work abit.
He is very helpful, and will go over practice problems similar to the homework for every chapter. Keep your handouts (it has everything you need).
he does not explain why you get your grade, just throws it at you and expects you to be fine with it.
the guy is the guy
The worst professor ever he is very rude the way he is interacting with students inappropriate don't take him please he won't let you pass easily for one credit class final exam was very hard whenever you ask him question he answers you in very rude way shows you that you are stupid. either take other professor or don't take class worst professor
you have to be willing to put in the work and attend all the labs if you want an a. he does round your grade up and wants you to do well, he passed a lot of kids who really didn't deserve it . he is a tough grader but like i said he lightens up towards the end to boost your grade. final was relatively easy and he prepares you well for it.
Argues with students, grades based on his mood. First three months he was in a bad mood so most we could get was an 80.Thankfully his personal life got better because then he started giving us 90s, 95s.Only grades in intervals of 5 so you either get a 70 or 75, an 80 or 85, a 90 or 95 you get me. Looks for any reason to take points off, literally.
honestly a great professor. i think other students forget that this is a college class and you have to put in the effort, you wont get a grade for free. regardless, he was very generous with grading towards the end. just participate in class and especially labs since he cares a lot for participation.
