One of the best prof you will ever have. Seriously. Many other profs phone it in or have tenure and haven't updated their syllabus in 5 years. Hamza brings real-world concepts in from that week. Your assignments also become things you can right away add to your resume. You're forced to critically engage. This is what learning should be.

I was in the first university class Hamza ever taught-- and he was amazing. He took the Social Media class and redid the entire curriculum to make it actually relevant. He brought in talented guest speakers and interacted with us on facebook every day. Despite all this, getting an A was still super easy as long as you hand everything in.

This was the best class of my entire life, it changed so much for me. It completely opened my eyes towards not just social media but life in general. I've only had about 4 instructors at Ryerson I genuinely liked and wanted to attend their class, Hamza makes 5. Honestly, he's a real one; understands your struggle as a student, especially a 4th year student, really engaging with the class, and super accommodating. If you're a cynic about University, take his class, he'll change your mind.

Hamza is very engaging and makes class not boring. There isn't a final exam or essay, just weekly assignments. His presentations are very relatable to the current in school student. You don't have to attend class for participation, however, he recommends it because his lectures are fun and can be useful when preparing for your weekly assignments.

Simply put, Hamza is a life changing prof. His class is what all educational institutions should strive for. I never had the urge to touch my phone once, and he puts in that extra effort to personally relate to whomever he's teaching. The marking is not very complicated and you don't have to work hard for marks, beware of two online certifications (worth 30% total). Get them done early!

This class is like entering a live podcast and getting a social media run down in record time. It covers current events and explores how the digital world impacts our lives. Hamza has created a couple of thought provoking group assignments & provides a lot of guidance on how to establish your brand online through different means and platforms.

I mean how can I not leave an amazing review. He is so captivating with his lectures. You might not need to go to class, but trust me your going to WANT to. His classes were a great note to end the week on. You'll smile at least once every time you go to class. Also like 30% of your grade is pass/fail on something really easy to finish.

Hamza's a great professor who cares about students wanting to come to class and take value from his lessons over assigning a ton of assignments. He even made adjustments at Week 8 to cut back deadlines so we could focus on learning - he's a knowledgable and accomplished prof - only wish we learned more about social media strategy and less theory.

Professor Hamza is extremely socially aware, and is very understanding of every student. He's pretty big on mental health too, and I think that's incredible. Due to our classes being switched offline midway through the semester, he understood that it was stressful and without us even asking, he extended all the deadlines to the last day of school.
