Nice guy, and challenging but extremely helpful. Will do his very best to make sure that students understand. I recommend taking his class if you get a chance.
Lim is horrible. He is too anal in his grading. He talks about his students seeing the "big picture" but the one that he conveys in class is very fuzzy and frankly is unclear. Lim is a nice guy but a frustrating teacher. Consider other options first.
He was EXTREMELY easy. (Note to the 2 people who rated Mr. Lim, they were probably dumbasses since they were in precalc). In my class, he gave us a lot of "surveys" to take which counted towards homework points, which in turn raised your overall grade. He gave quizzes once a week and had group work.
Very good teacher. Always willing to help students outside class. Only gives 3 tests. He drops the lowest one. On top of that, you get to redo all three of them and add the extra points to your original score. The ?'s from Tests and Quizes usually come from the homework. And he grades on a curve.
Mr. Lim is a very polite teacher. He prepared me for calculus better than most algebra teachers. I recommend this teacher to anyone taking math 111 or pre cal.
Really kept me interested in the classroom even though the material was sometimes challenging. Colored chalk expert.
I liked Lim and his teaching style with the handouts. He only graded us on tests; no homework; which I liked. The other poster was right, except in my class he used colored markers. ;)
My favorite math teacher at Highline. He will always answer any question he can, in or out of class. If you have chemistry or Excel questions, he'll answer those too. My first teacher at Highline...made coming to class at 7 am worth it.
this teacher is very nasty when grading and never take the time to understand the problem, he spend more time doing the color painting than making things easy. even though he we bought a book he wants to follow his way, well, we are only in the class one hour what about the other 23h. All i can say is that think twice before taking his clas
A great artist!! However, he sometimes allows more time for his pictures then for teaching and material. He also is EXTREMILY picky on quizzes and tests! I forgot to factor something and got 8 out of 10 off.
You learn his way or you fail the class, that was frusterating and thats not how you teach math.
A STUPID TEACHER I EVER FOUND IN MY LIFE. HE NEVER EXPLAINS THE THINGS TO U. DONT TAKE HIS LAB. CLASS EVER IN UR LIFE.HARDLY HE HELPS IN CLASS.HE MOSTLY SAYS THAT FIRST READ UR TEXTBOOK AND THEN ASK ME, AFTER THAT HE JUST GIVES U A CLUE NOT THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION.
He teachs ok but i dont like all that note taking and sometimes it REALLY has nothing to do with the sections. Notes...notes...notes...
very clear on what he wants and I had a fun time in his class.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIS LECTURES! He always introduce a new concept by tying it with an old concept. He made sure there is a clear understanding and that we see a connection between everything (GTA: GRAPH, TABLE, ALGEBRA) Funny and nice guy. I HIGHLY recommend him to teach ANY math class.
Mr. Lim was a pretty good teacher. He was clear on his lectures, and took the time to explain things further. He put up with a lot of crap from bad students too, which showed his patience. I'd take another math class from him. Use colored pencils!
Took Math 124. Very good teacher. Takes complicated topics apart, and explains each and every detail. However, TESTS ARE COMPLICATED if you did not understand the concept completely. Study outside the class, and do a lot of examples from the textbook. I would deffinately recommend this teacher!
?
Excellent for a beginner...step by step..do the work and you will be fine I loved the weekly quizzes it gave you and idea of what you understood or not. a very fair person
Needs to engage more vocally with students. Needs to communicate ideas in the form of a lecture despite this being a computer AND bookwork class. Most of time sits at his desk. Only time he has talked to class is when there is a test and on the first day of class.
THIS INSTRUCTOR IS HORRIBLE!!! HE DOES NOT TEACH WELL AND THE TESTS HE GIVE HAVE NOTHING TO WITH WHAT HE TEACHES! I DON'T RECCOMEND TAKING ANY OG HIS CLASSES. IF MATH IS NOT YOUR STRENGTH DONT EVER TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES BELIEVE ME!!!
this is a horroble teacher hebasically is you and the pc who are in the class the teacher is useless
Professor Lim's class is unlike most other college math classes. He teaches little from a book and focuses on making sure you know concepts and if you put in the effort and interest, there is no reason why you should not do well.
I recommend him! He pushes his students in a non demanding way to learn the material he teaches. He has an accent however it wasn't a problem. Just do the homework and you will be fine.
I took this as a computer-based class. I always signed in and left and did it at home, because he was so USELESS!
I really did not like this person....he really was a bad professor. He's teaching style was horrible and his test were extremely hard and unrelated to the math book. Hurt my mathematics course overall. I would recommend taking Terry Meerdink or anyone else besides him.
Keeping up with notes and homework was not a problem at all. Pointless to study for his math tests or quizzes because he expects you to just understand math problems that he never even shows in class. First test was a total failure he put in questions that involved using your calculator to find the answers in which I fail horribly with calculators.
He goes off topic in class and makes the class harder then it should be. if i had to take math again it wouldnt be with him.
Mr. Lim rocks. I used to hate math, now I only mildly dislike it. Mr. Lim explained the material in easy terms.
Very efficient. Always comes prepared. You start learning the first day. Very clear on expectations. No wishy washy "let's get to know your neighbor with flash cards" garbage in this class. Attendance and class participation is mandatory, but he doesn't seem to be rude about it if you don't do either. Very respectful and model teacher material.
Horrible, Do not take him, will regret every day. Goes off topic all the time. Tests have nothing in common with homework. He should not be a teacher.
He is a teacher who clearly knows the material and the expectations of the world. As an instructor though, he expected you to not only do the work, but to dig really deep and to be able to apply concepts learned to entirely new material during tests. As a person, he is honest, clear and wants the best for you. As a teacher, you best look elsewhere.
He is a good teacher. It's easy to understand his lectures. We rarely use the textbook in this class. He grades kind of hard on Test or Quiz because he subjects the points even though just little mistake. Also, you should be careful because most of the questions worth many points.
He is an anal grader for quizzes and tests. Easy grading on HW. He does offer extra credit later to make up poor test scores. Drops 1 low quiz and test score. Does go offtopic sometimes, but overall is laid back and kind of goofy in class. He doesn't really use the textbook much except to assign HW.
Quizzes & tests are difficult. Usually have to view topics from several different ways. Great guy, hard professor!
Good teacher. Content isn't hard itself because it's a review from HS math. Drops 1 low quiz/test score. Study from class notes and you'll do good.
VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND
Very upsetting. When a test is coming up, im not worried if i know the content, im worried if i will do it the way HE wants - which i can't seem to understand. Very disappointing, grades unfairly. Anal grader, the worst of the worst.
Very harsh grader. I went into office hours twice to ask questions and neither time he could give me an answer! He told me to go to the tutoring center. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The content wasn't hard, he was just a bad grader. Takes a long time to grade tests, no feedback on homework. The homework doesn't relate to the tests and quizzes.
He's really nice. He tries to explain every little thing, but he's not a type of math teacher I want to study with. His class is so boring. I don't understand why everyone complaints about the grade. If you're a good student and study hard, you will get 4.0. I got 4.0. The problem is his teaching skill is too boring, and no challenging.
Compared to the other stat teachers, I highly recommend Han. Basically gives hw answers, his explanation to everything relates to the quizzes/tests almost identically. Drops lowest quiz/test. Basically attend every day and study and you're gauranteed a 3.5 or above.
Mr. Lim takes responsibility for his class. When we weren't getting something he delayed quizzes and slowed down until he thought we would do well. He likes feedback and wants to know what he can do differently in the future to make things more clear. Very helpful and approachable. Would be better if he used an online program for practice.
This teacher was pretty funny, he liked to keep class somewhat fun. He explains things pretty well he just spends a lot of time on really easy stuff and spends less time on the more difficult stuff. His grading was a little unfair sometimes, he would mark you down a lot of points for silly mistakes but he does grade really quickly. Decent class
He is very deliberate and clear in his explanations. Gives homework but you get credit just for turning it in. Attendance is mandatory and you get credit just for coming. There is no extra credit but he does drop your lowest test score and quiz score. Fairly helpful if you ask for help. I got a 3.4 gpa in his class and I put some effort in.
He is overall a good teacher with clear expectations, if you study hard and do well on the quizzes it will be easy for you since the test is very similar to problems on tests and what he goes over in class. However every day when he lectures he asks a couple students each time to go answer and it could suck if you have a little social anxiety.
Mr. Lim was pretty passionate about Math and I think thats why stats was easy to understand. His lectures came along with notes and examples to really grasp the subject. But beware during quizzestests to be VERY clear with the little things like a ($) or your units as you will get points taken off and trust me when I say missing one point can hurt
Honestly, he is so tough in grading. But he's so clear and i know my mistake after each test and quiz. You have to be careful to him because there will be some traps in his quizzes and tests. i'm originally good at math but this class is quite tought for me to get 4.0. But i still got 4.0. So challenged to get this class. But it's a good class.
He's great with his explanations and lectures. For hw, you get credit as long as you turn it in and points just for showing up to class. There are some things he's nit-picky with like whether or not you use pencil, using the units, etc. The tests and quizzes are kind of hard but he gives you an answer sheet after that explains everything clearly.
Great teacher!
His lectures are long, but very clear and and helpful so you wont miss anything. There is a quiz every week and a test every 2 weeks. It is a little tough to understand him do to his accent, but he tries really hard to make everything as clear as possible. He is a though grader (regarding quizzes/tests), but if you put some effort in you will pass.
Great teacher, I took math 111 and 146 with him. The tests are always based on what he does on the board, so practice along with him and do the hw assignments. Math 146 with him is probably the easiest math class I've ever taken, its just simple reasoning. Side note: He has an asian accent but is still very clear and is great at explaining ideas.
Does not help at all if you want to make up any work or tests.
puts things on test that he didn't teach, grades toughly, and long lectures
Terrible at explaining, and do not have clear grading criteria. He says will grade however he likes, and it can change at any time. He will tell you that you can't use calculator on the tests, right before the test. So yes, lots of surprises. His lectures are based on memorizing problems, not the core concepts.I would never take his class again.
Hard to learn a lot considering he wastes a ton of class time having people go up to the board, which is time he could have spent actually teaching and going over material instead. I understand he wants everyone to participate but it wastes a ton of time. Calculus is hard enough as it is, so you want to get as much learning done as possible.
Really nice professor! He is patient and kind. He always focus on teaching students by a simple, easy way.
I am a nursing major and this class is a specific requirement for my degree. I recommend that unless you are very strong in math and ready to move fast pace with little practice you take this class with another teacher. I plan to re-take this class with another professor later on. Only 3 unit tests and a final make up your entire grade... good luck
Mr. Lim was a hilarious teacher who makes his lectures fun yet challenging. There is at least one homework assignment per week. Quiz every week and test every 2-3 weeks. He always makes sure that people understand what he is talking about and he respects questions. He does have an accent but its not too bad. Overall fun math class! 10/10
This class was pretty hard, but with hard work it is possible to get an A. Professor Lim's tests are on the application of things we have learned in class, not the actual skills so be prepared to think outside of the box. I recommend doing extra practice problems to familiarize yourself with the material, either from the book or Khan Academy.
He makes lectures very enjoyable by inputting jokes here and there. His lectures are very comprehensive (if you're good at math and go to class everyday). He doesn't use web assign and he grades homework by completion. You probably don't even need the book (tbh). He can be extremely picky when it comes to answers on tests or quizzes.
Han Lim is one of the best teachers at Highline, but also one of the hardest. He makes concepts clear, but his exams are a bit tougher and his grading is harsh. You need to give this class time to succeed. In addition, your grade is curved Did well in the class due to daily practice and lots of book example problems. Not easy money, but still good
Mr. Han explains well and uses class time wisely. Has an accent, but not terrible to understand. Weekly quizzes and homework, and tests every 2-3 weeks. Participation counts and will help you to do well on exams. He explains well and does multiple examples in class. Exams are based on his lectures. Tough grader, but not impossible to get 4.0.
He is a good teacher but is a very tough grader. Puts stuff on the quizzes that are not on the review, there are definitely easier teacher for introduction to statistics. The final is 50% of the grade. He does not offer any additional assignments to help with the grade. He takes off everything for small mistakes. I would never take him again!!!
Great teacher! Tough grader, makes up for it with the curve. To succeed in this class, you've got to "see the bigger picture". Makes you stop memorizing formulas and actually helps apply concepts. Emphasizes applications to the real world, but still a great instructor. Study hard and you'll get a good grade. Good sense of humor
I took Math 142 to learns something and I have to say that, he didn't explain much of the concepts so I rarely knew how to do the homework. We take notes but it's just to understand the basic thing but when you start doing the homework you are confused about doing it and when it comes to tests. It is also different. Do not take this class with him
Best teacher ever. I wish I can take all math classes with him. I took him in math 91 and I have 3.7 and math 141 with 3.5. He relay doing his best to push everyone to pass. He drop the lowest exam and 2 lowest quiz plus he curve your grade at the end, WHAT DO YOU WANT MORE?. Best recommendation 2hr studying daily and pass with 3.0 and over.
Not a good class to be enrolled in
I love him because he is a good teacher ever. Recommend for good students to enroll.
Highly recommend this class! He gives make up points quizzes, drops your lowest test and quiz scores and grades on a curve. He really wants you to succeed. However, the class is pretty boring and all you do is take notes. The HW is pointless but only graded based on completion. He doesn't make you buy an access code. TAKE THIS CLASS!!
He's a good teacher but the tests are really hard. There aren't any extra credit and you aren't graded by many things. If you do bad on the test or a quiz then you are stuck with that grade. Also, he sometimes puts a really hard questions and if you miss it then you lose 34 points per question (the test is out of 20 points).
He's such a sweet and nice teacher and his test aren't that hard, as long as you study! Everything you need to know on the test, he goes over during lecture. He's willing to help when you need it, and is very nice when helping. He interacts with the students and has them go up and write the answers on the board. He's really friendly. take him!!!
He put some questions on the test or quiz that he did not mentioned in the lecture. He's a hard grader! He marked off points small little things. For example, if you forget the % symbol or $ sign in your answer, he will subtract a point (-1) on that question. The quiz is only 10 points, so -1 will bring you down to a B, -2 will bring down to a C.
This professor is kind and funny at times but it can be really difficult to understand the math he teaches sometimes. I don't like when he decides to call random students up to the board to figure out the next step to a math problem you don't know how to do.
I took this teacher twice, the first time I got an F and the second time I got a C. Asking him to clarify the reasoning for something he tends to say the exact same thing that made you confused in the first place. Grading is ridiculous, one wrong mistake and you get full point deducted. Figuring out your actual grade is hard. He doesn't use canvas
His tests are so hard. Literally, everyone was failing in the class. He doesn't even let you talk to him properly during office hours. His lectures are good but his tests and quizzes are way too much harder. He gives you too much homework but his tests aren't related to homework at all.
This is my second quarter taking Mr. Han. I got a C in his class. Had 4.0 GPAs in Biology and Chemistry so I am no stranger to hard work. His methods are ineffective and unconventional - and not in a good way! He's the harshest grader I've ever known, for example if X+0 isn't simplified to just X? No points! You've been warned.
he's a tough grader. Will not give you point (not even half point) if you do missing the symbol such as: % The test is completely different from the homework. Attendance is required.
Terrible. He doesnt use canvas, tests are extra hard, quizzes are difficult. Extremely harsh grader. You only know your grade when you get an exam back. I mean if you can fully understand his teachings and teach yourself statistics then take his class bc thats what youd be doing. Overall just do yourself and your GPA a favor and dont take it.
I read his reviews before I decided to take him. I should've listened to what the other students said. I had to dropped his class 3 days into starting of the quarter. I did not understand his lecture and it was frustrating. I had to go home and go on youtube to learn about the materials we talked about on that day. He made me hate Math more.
Tough grader. His lectures were difficult to understand because he wanted us to know the "WHY'S" but we were graded on the "HOW'S". Tests did not represent things we learned in class. He asks random students to answer questions that we haven't learned / covered yet, and humiliates you if you don't get them correct. This class gave me anxiety.
He is not grading you. He keeps you in his head and he is making the decision based on his stereotypes from you. If your not an Asian don't take the class with him. He was one of the most horrible persons I have ever met.
I am a straight A student and have never gotten below a 3.6 in any class I took at highline. I would strongly advise against taking this teacher because he is not clear when it comes to teaching and will only want you to solve problems his way. Another way will deduct point off your test. Exams and quizzes really hard and no connection w/hw
Horrible, horrible and horrible. Disgusting attitude and behavior in class. His lectures were difficult to understand. Literally, everyone was failing in the class. His English is hard to understand, a very strong accent. Unfairly grading. Obviously, he is shameless he is discriminating student.
Fast paced when teaching new concepts, if you miss a day you will certainly fail the quiz. Test answers must be specific and clear to get credit and are based on lecture notes, not the book. HW is from the book and can be confusing because his lecture notes and methods differ. Prepare for trick questions. Difficult even for top students.
It is a very strict class and fast paced. The work load is not much, homework for me would take about 30-45 minutes. He is very nice but be careful on test, you could get an entire answer wrong if you miss even the slightest bit. Content of the class was gone through fast but he explains it decently well if you go to him before or after class.
I am taking his class right now and each time I get a quiz or test back I get at least a few answers correct from the reference sheet provided but since its not his way I get the whole answer wrong... terrible teaching and terrible resources outside of class...
We take notes everyday and while doing so we get problems on the board. His teaching is a lot easier to understand and simplified then the book,we do get at least one test per week but his tests are based purely off of the notes you take he is a bit of a tough grader on test. We have to turn in homework on test days and it based only on completion.
make sure you stay above curve. or average. and he picks on people to go up the board so be ready
He doesn't really teach, he just writes on the board and we copy what he writes. Has a thick accent so it's kind of hard to understand him. He also doesn't use canvas so you don't know your grade in the class until he writes it on the test. You basically have to teach yourself and there are quizzes every week. I would give him a zero if I could.
It was really hard to understand him because of his accent. I can't say he is a bad teacher, but his program is very hard. He doesn't use Canvas, so one day he was absent and, apparently, he didn't notify us. I would go home after classes and look up in Youtube or Internet more about study material. I would not recommend you to take his class.
Everyone in his stats class didn't understand anything, and when I say everyone I mean everyone even the people in the his other stats classes. We had to create a snapchat group just to pass, one girl the test kicked her out as soon as she opened it and his response was, " I drop your lowest test score". He posts test and quizzes last minute.
Horrible teacher, very unorganized do not recommend.
Do NOT take with him online. I have never felt more unsupported as a student. Was initially an in person class, but with COVID it turned online. Offered no support other than notes. Problems on the tests were not included in practice, making it hard to prepare. Overall a very frustrating experience.
Stay away, I repeat, Stay away. Do not take this class online! Does not respond to emails on Canvas, Youtube is your teacher, unknown what to really study until the quizzes were released.
Worst teacher ever. Never responded to emails. Had random quizzes that you found out a day before and the days would always change. He never set a routine or schedule for assignments or tests or homework. Everything was so unorganized. He had no sympathy during the covid forced lockdown and forced online class and I had to youtube everything.
Im currently taking his statistics class, its very hard because he doesnt teach everything in class, we dont have much homework where we can practice solving problems, we just have like 1 exercise a weeks in which you just enter your answer and if you're wrong, you're wrong, no feedback on how to do it the correct way. wouldn't recommend his class
Please consider everything in her syllabus before taking the class. Trust me... Has timed quizzes. NO lectures or videos. Did not give me any feedback on my answers or follow ups. Whenever I asked a question I was told to look at previous work and readings, which don't help since she doesn't have lectures in the first place.
He is a harsh grader and doesn't do well with teaching subjects online. Only assigns one assignment per new topic per week. It is hard to succeed in his class unless you do well with seeing someone else do the problem in front of you and understand this new topic.
Don't take this math class online with him, or in general. Canvas grades answers differently and he will not give you points even if he sees your answer is correct. You can't see the tests and quizzes for the quarter in advance, he posts them a couple days before and on different days. What you learn in the quizzes/exercises are barely on the tests
He does not teach you anything. Tests and quizzes are always a mystery until after you take them. And are usually different from what you learned.
He was not as helpful when I asked questions. There is no extra credit given, just letting you know that now. Most of the tests given weren't what we went over.
Zero support, largely unresponsive, what you study vs. what's on the test is very different. He genuinely doesn't care if learn, flounder, pass or fail. It's hard to believe I paid the same amount for this class as I did teachers who actually put in effort. Felt like a scam, honestly. Run.
It feels like he's not very engaged which I feel like is essential when you're taking an online course. He himself doesn't teach his class, random math videos from youtube do. He does require a textbook, but wait for him to tell you which one because it doesn't match the one on the highline book store. Overall really poor "teacher".
Most of the course was watching youtube videos I could have found online for free. Other than that, you have to teach yourself through the use of the textbook and handouts. There is zero communication with the professor. Absolutely would not take this professor again. Was supposed to be an applications class but most of the problems were abstract.
Do NOT take his class! This teacher never interacts with any of the students. His zoom meetings are strictly a paper and a pencil and him taking notes. He never leaves opportunity for questions. And doesnt allow any extra credit. He doesnt give out worksheets or anything helpful. You will teach yourself during this class. 0/5!
Not flexible AT ALL in terms of trying to better any score. All assignments are out of 10 points, meaning if you miss one question, you’ve already knocked down to a 90%. Homeworks only get 3 max attempts, quizzes and exams are final. No extra credit. He’s too strict in my opinion and should show more care. Never even asks for our names.
As long as you do the work you'll pass with a good grade. Make sure to review the materials before class. Everything that you need to know for the quizzes and tests will be provided in the Canvas notes & videos.
He was no help whatsoever, I’d ask for help and he wouldn’t give me an answer other than go look at your book. He never taught the class only sent YouTube links of other people teaching the subject. I’m paying hundreds of dollars for this! It’s ridiculous. Very lazy professor and unprofessional!
He doesn’t really teach you anything in the lectures, I felt like I was learning on my own from the book. No extra credit, no retakes. What you get is what you get. A guide or test every week. Do not take!
Stay away from this class. If you choose to do this class online then be prepared to teach yourself all the work just to end up not needing it on the assignments. He only gives 2 assignments per week that are not really helpful in teaching you anything. Once you mess up on those, your grades are done for because you cannot retake or even have ECs.
The definitive worst teacher I have ever taken. You would learn more from monkeys honestly. If you have the least bit of academic responsibility (which you probably do if you are on this website) or care about doing well in your classes AT ALL, I am begging you to stay clear of this guy and his miracle tale of landing his job as a "PrOFessOR".
He teaches Maths as English. He doesn’t care how you did the problem, only cares the final answer.
Terrible teacher, Gives you videos and expects you to figure out the rest of the work your own self. Felt like he doesn't respond or interact with his class at all. Waste of money and time RUN!!
I am only just starting the class, and by reading the syllabus and ratings, this one's gonna be tough. Can't retake or makeup anything for whatever reason, and he justifies this by dropping the lowest grade of a quiz, assignment, and test, and he won't record his Zoom meetings.
Not good. heavily weighted items are only 10 questions or less.. so there's no room to miss some questions. Once your grade is down, goodluck getting it up because you will need to get 10/10 on everything to cover ur mistake. and the videos he makes us watch aren't even that helpful for the quizzes. will ruin ur gpa unless u love math
Everybody failed his final, with the highest grade a 70% and the median around 35%. It was my own fault not listening to these ratings.
We bought the textbook and didn't even use it. HE DOESN'T DO EXTRA CREDIT! I remember once He got frustrated when some of us didn't understand him. I should never taken his class in the first place!
According to my opinion this class is waste of time and too much stress. He give test every other day. He only teaches 1 problem in class and excepts you to learn all the chapter in your own time. He is very bad at teaching. I won't suggest anyone to take this teacher of math 111 class. -1 out of 10.
Where to begin.. The feedback from all the other people is correct. He does use only a paper and pen displayed on zoom meetings for his "lectures". These lectures encompass his beliefs and interpretations on what the vocabulary means. He put all of his stats to awful and it shows
you know that one tiktok that's like "No more than one unmarkable tomato?" yeah that's this class. He's awful. Refused to put grades on canvas so you never knew your progress. Made you come to class for "review days" before exams and attendance was required which he then would proceed to say "ok so what's your questions for this chapter?"
I did not realize how strict attendance is and now I have many assignments, he does not allow make up work. If you fall behind you might as well drop.
Youtube is your teacher since he does not teach at all He gives "notes" during the lectures, but the notes don't teach you anything since you have to go into the book he never uses because he's going to say this section is the work but never assigns anything to study. You have a test or quiz every week, but don't know what's on it till day of.
Don't take his class.
Don't do this class if you procrastinate or let deadlines + assignments add up. He does not offer extra credit or makeup opportunities even when asked due to his strict syllabus. Missed one deadline and it added up and I wasn't able to make it up.
the only way to pass this class is to cheat
Horrible. This class feels like hell. It ruined my summer. At first I thought the reviews was exaggerated but I was so wrong. No retakes even if your car blows up. We learn about something and never use it. He has no remorse, sympathy, or empathy. He likes to sit in his chair and smile at us while we stress out during a test. RUN for your own sake
WOULD NOT recommend if you really care about your grade. This professor was not helpful at all especially after requesting help. His form of teaching is straight videos and zoom sessions that are difficult to understand because of his thick accent. Dont be like me and think you can actually understand this person better because he does not care.
No feedback. No makeup work. No followup. You ask him to go over a subject that 50% of the class is confused on, and he says no. His excuse: "if you need more lecture enroll in a fully in person class." Even for working adults who have jobs. No review over subject. He thinks because half the class is online he only has to do half the teaching.
this professor will give weekly tests/quizes/exercises. they are all a 10 question test. he will test on things he has not taught. he told me if i forget to show my work, that would not affect my point if i got the final answer right, then when i did forget to show my work but got the answer right, he gave me a half point. bad at teaching.
Do NOT take this class. His test and quizzes are only 10 questions, so gotta make sure you get everything right bcuz there's no retakes/open notes. He has modules once a week and those are the only homework you have. He's nice but the way he teach isn't. He a skipped a whole lesson because he said he'll get behind so we have to do it on our own.
This professor is an extremely tough grader. He also gives no extra credit to improve your grade and no feedback on tests, quizzes, or assignments to help you understand what you did wrong. For your sake and your GPA's sake, do not take this class.
Tough class with a strict grading system. Attendance is mandatory, but lectures are not very helpful. Use Unstuck AI, textbook, and online resources to supplement learning. Avoid falling behind on assignments to pass this class.
Honestly he was a great professor, but if you did hybrid like me then he can't cover most of the material within the 2 days you meet with him so independent study gonna happen a lot but overall his lectures were easy to understand and he was good with clearing up any confusions
Professor doesn't care that his average scores on exams are 4/10. Any teacher that cared would realize his students were not understanding the material. Guy doesn't care. His office hours are a time only convenient to him, not students seeking help. He's hoping you don't come to them. Asking him to explain something again is demoralizing. Avoid!!!!
I would only recommend if you absolutely need the credit.
Strict grading system, only graded by tests and Canvas pop quizzes. No retakes and he doesn't answer questions. Tested on things he hadn't even taught us yet and didn't explain what we did wrong or how to improve it. Once your grade drops, recovering it feels impossible, you likely need perfect scores in the future just to make up for the setback.
In my hybrid class, quizzes, and tests were probably every other day. I was told no retakes whatsoever, even when I missed class due to illness and let him know beforehand. Make sure to read the syllabus properly, it explains the drop policy, which drops one low score for assignments, quizzes, and tests. Don't take unless you can teach yourself
He was a difficult teacher for sure, it was very hard to understand the topics since he did sometimes rely on us watching videos on our own time. Overall I feel I did learn a lot, and I appreciate additional help he offered.
the hardest teacher I ever had, I would never recommend this teacher to anyone. You have a test every other class day and the tests have things he never taught us or gave notes on. He doesn't care about his students. Most the class is failing and he could care less. You also can't understand him ever because of this thick accent.
I chose his hybrid class twice & started a PT job to survive & failed. Once my hours picked up past 25 hrs, I wasn't able to focus or send assignments timely. There are NO LATE assignments in his class. Take his hybrid class if you can dedicate the 10+ hrs a week as said on his syllabus. Other than that it's impossible for a pass.
He goes over part of the material for the week, but never the entire thing and then expects you to finish the lectures at home via Youtube videos. I had no clue what I needed to work on as he does not go over your tests with you and doesn't tell you what you did wrong. Doesn't accept questions during class because he "doesn't have time".
Don't recommend this professor .When it came to tests he didn't do any reviews or told as what material the test was going to cover so at least we could prepare for it and when we had a question or needed help understanding a certain material he wasn't of much help. Most of the class is failing and he doesn't seem to care at all.
