Tests are based on her overhead notes so you need to attend all classes...she is hilarious...keeps you laughing...awesome class. I had lost of fun...oh and the exams were easy! :-)

Hannele is a very easy going teacher. Her powerpoints are all organized and are very easy to follow, plus when it comes to quiz or exam time, Hannele tells you exactly whats on the quiz or test because she bases everything on them from her lectures that she gives. In her crim 1150 class she gives no paper.All your marks come from the tests &quizes.

She is an amazing professor. For those who just want to jump through college and look on here to get "Easy teachers," you have to learn to work your way up. You have to work hard and study and you can get an A+. Slack off and you can get C-. She's amazing, rest depends on your attributes :)

Super helpful and understanding! Attendance is not "mandatory" but if you don't go you'll probably fail. If you do go and take notes/pay attention you'll get at LEAST a B-. Marks are based solely off quizzes and a midterm all of which are extremely simple and straighforward as long as you take notes(she will leave the slides up)

shes awesome if you work hard and study you will be atleast a B for sure unless u dont know what ur doing but yeah shes awsome she messed up my mark though and then fixed it but w.e

She's a good teacher and I enjoyed her class. But part of her tests are a bit tough. T/F and m/c questions are fairly easy, but short answer questions were pretty hard since she expects you to write ALL the information about it. Although you answer correctly, if you miss any little info, you'll lose mark. Overall, she was okay.

Absolutely the best teacher I've had so far. Makes class fun and takes interest in what YOU want to talk about in class. Very flexible lectures. No use of the textbook, all notes taken in class, must attend to write notes by hand. Wish I could take more classes with her but I've taken them all already.

Hannele is a great teacher, one of the best that I have had at Douglas so far. Material is clear, weekly quizzes on her notes are very easy. There was no final, and no term paper, just a journal summary. Definitely a GPA booster, and if you're into criminology, Hannele really knows her stuff and her passion is contagious!

She is always entertaining and keeps class interesting. I took crim 1100 and 1150, definitely one of my favourite profs at douglas. minimal studying needed the tests are easy and a lot of the questions are given to you beforehand. Doesn't use a textbook anymore because she doesnt want to cost you money!

Hannele is an amazing teacher, very funny, really helpful, and passionate about her work. Always has great stories to tell and keeps everyone interested in class. Quizzes every week or so but study and you'll do great, and just one article review really easy stuff. Highly recommend taking crim with her, you'll fall in love!

I thought she would be strict and a hard marker but she's not. She is very understanding and would wait for you when you're slow in taking down notes. Her quizzes are MC and her tests are MC and short answers. It's very easy when you study her notes. There's no textbook & she uses power point. She's very knowledgeable. She's so cool too! BEST PROF!

She DOES NOT use the textbooks since all of her lecture notes are clear and to the point, which her quizzes are exactly based on. As for the notes itself, she lets you take your time in copying from the slides. She's patient and will answer any questions you have. She's hilarious and will go off topic from lectures to 'wake' the class up.

For a class with a heavy amount of information and note taking, Hannele makes the class surprisingly fun and informative, her quizzes are fair and to the point and she always has time for your questions.

I have had her for two classes, and she is definitely one of my favourite profs at Douglas. She is very passionate about the content and the stories she tells relating to the material are very relevant, as well as funny & entertaining.

Hannele is an exceptional professor. I had her for both CRIM 1100 and 1150 this semester. You do not need the textbook at all, as her lectures are from the power-point slides that she provides. Class is mandatory as she does not post the notes online. Her stories are funny and relate back to the material, helping you understand it a lot better.

First of all, Hannele is the best professor at Douglas College... HANDS DOWN. I wish she taught all the crim classes at the school. 7 quizzes throughout the semester, TF with some written. Do not bother buying a textbook, her notes are what she tests by and are WAY better. Very kind, approachable, and takes the time to get to know her students.

This professor is by far, one of the best professors I have ever had at the college. She has seven quizzes spread throughout the semester and that it! It's usually every two weeks but in the middle, the class has two quizzes back to back. Take it with her!

Honestly one of the most helpful and funniest profs ive had. Her lectures are fun and she explains when you dont understand. short answer quizes require detailed explanations. Would love to have her as a prof again!!

She is just an awesome prof. No midtern or finals. Instead, you might have 57 quizzes but most of them are easy true/false questions; dont need a textbook. the attendence is not mandatory but you will need her lecture notes for quiz since she's not using textbook nor uploading her ppt.

I was a first year student and was nervous about my classes however, Hannele was an absolute gem! She genuinely cares about her students, and will do what she can to hep you succeed. You must go to class because her class is powerpoint based. Her tests are ALWAYS fair! I'm going to miss not having her as a teacher, she's hilarious and ADORABLE!

Best class I ever took. She's funny, relatable & super chill. Knows her stuff and is super knowledgeable. Easily approachable and a great person all around. Textbooks are optional, as they are not vital to the course. Just don't use your phone during class, she CAN tell and WILL call you out on it. (Totally not speaking from experience)

Easy credits. Does not get too deep into the topic though, but teaches what matters. Wants to help everyone pass. Nice, approachable and delightful. Take once a week class if possible.

Easiest class I've ever taken and it doesn't hurt that Hannele is such a lovely professor! Most of your grade is on several quizzes and as long as you show up to class and take notes/study a little you should do really good! There is no textbook necessary. Finished the class a week early and still wanted to go to the last week!

Amazing teacher, she is always willing to help you and is understanding. Will let you makeup tests if you tell her ahead of time. Everything you need to know is from her lectures, and we always ended class early.

The only class I don't find myself falling asleep in. Everything she says may not be in quizzes, but it is usually relevant. You'll find yourself thinking about it. One of the best teachers I've had in a long time.

Hannele is my favourite prof at Douglas! Her lectures are easy to follow and quite interesting. I learn a lot in her class and she tells cool funny stories. She gives you reviews on what exactly her quizzes will be on, and they are relatively easy. Her style is on point too! She never teaches a full 3 hour lecture either, she isn't Oprah lol

All I can really say is she's an amazing professor makes learning the course very enjoyable and fun. I personally look forward to her classes and lectures. Shes laid back but strict! show respect get respect back from her. just wish she taught more courses, shame she doesn't. OTHER PROFESSORS CAN DEFF LEARN A THING OR TWO FROM HER ON TEACHING!!!

Hannele is an amazing professor, her classes are engaging and interesting with no dull moment. There are about 6-8 biweekly quizzes which are super easy as long as you attend every class and a summary paper but no final. She is truly caring and understanding. Her biggest pet peeve is cellphone use so just give her some respect. The best prof ever.

Thanks to her 28 years teaching experience - lectures are clear and concise. No finals, no midterms - only bi-weekly quizzes and an article summary. Always uplifting, really good at what she does. Pay attention in her class and it wont be a problem at all. Most of the time her classes end anywhere from half an hour to an hour early!

Hannele is by far one of the past profs in the crim department. She's got a dope sense of fashion sense but apart from that, she GENUINELY wants you to do well in school and life. She's always there to help if you need it. Absolutely love her!!

Hannele is a really great prof. Her stories as a social worker and experiences at a youth prison were very enlightening. Hannele also cracked some jokes and shared funny stories, so her class was quite entertaining! For tests, each one was a true or false quiz with a possible short answer. You'll pass the quizzes as long as you study the notes.

I love Hannele!! She's so funny and cares about you getting a good mark. A few true or false quizzes and a paper are all that this class requires. We would take notes and she would let us out early more than half the time. She's a great professor :)

If you have an issue with the class, or are sick, and are honest and willing to work with her she will help you catch up or make up the work. She is very interesting, and genuine. Probably one of the easiest classes I've ever taken in my life. If you want a class where you could realistically get over 90-95% in a uni transferable course, this is the class/prof to take.. lol. Hanelle is also super nice and outgoing and she knows a lot about the crim field.

Hannele class is one of the greatest thing I had in my uni/college life. She is a caring prof. While we doing the online class, she always ask for our opinion, what she can improve, and she will work on it, she explained everything pretty clear. If you wanna learn something difficult in a easy way, you should take her class, and I got my first A.

Very funny, very caring, and she lets class guide her with teaching. If she can sense that class is tired she will try her best to accommodate and cut her class earlier. Or if she can sense that people cannot keep up with her phase, she will slow down. She also has lots of hilarious stories to share with the class! which is a bonus.

SHE IS AMAZING and so funny, she never runs the class for the full 3 hours because she says no one can listen for 3 hours. All the tests are open book and online the only thing is if you dont go to class you wont understand the test but if you she pretty much teaches the whole test and makes it super easy for you to get a good mark in her class.

There's no textbook, there were about 6 tests (most of them you could bring a cheat sheet), and there are no exams, midterms, projects, or papers. She explains the material very well with real-life examples. She is amazing and hilarious.
