I took Dr. Nguyen when he was teaching at UT and I thought he was great! Super nice guy, always willing to go back over anything you are unclear about. Tests were always over lectured material. I cannot say enough about how nice this guy is!
Very helpful and nice instructor. Tests are straight out from the lectures.
beside his weired twitching problems, he is a nice guy, lectures are very unclear, very hard grader, strict on changing grades, even if u beg him. hard grader on exam, u have to be very specific even though his questions on exam are unclear.don't spend time on reviews, focus on lectures.
Tell him your pre-med and you got it made! Very Cool guy, likes to party it up with his students!
Grading is based upon other students. He will grade your exam, and proceed to cross out your grade and give you a lower one if he later reads a better answer. Very nice person...very frustrating grader. Gives VERY VERY FEW A's.
Even if you know everything he presents inside and out, you'll probably get a B. Also, he's very unclear about what's expected of the lab project. Get everything he says in writing. He says not to argue about your grade, but do it anyway. He'll ask test questions never covered in class without realizing it. Very nice guy though!
I would take this teacher again because he tells you what he expects and there are no surprises on his test. You might think a question he ask was not covered in class, but if you think about what he is asking you can draw all the answers from his lecture notes. Sometimes there could be more than one correct answer--just think it through.
Knows his stuff, but his very unclear and forgets what he's lectured on. He plays favorites often. Tell him you're a med student to get graded more leniently and tell him you have a disability and you'll get extra time to take his extra long tests.
He treats you like a grad student. This is good and bad, depending on what kind of test taker you are. He basically hands you a few questions on blank paper and you are intended to answer them in an essay form using logic, reason and accuracy. Given that most students have been taking MC tests up to this point, this can be VERY hard for some.
Knows the material well and really is a GREAT professor, but as soon as he speaks regarding anything other than cells he starts to get annoying. Sometimes he is outright insulting, but I think he doesn't get it. One of those profs. you take because you have to. Great teacher, lousy guy. BTW the class isn't difficult his attitude is.
He is the best Bio lecturer at sac state. His exams are graded hard which leads to people having negative things to say about his classes, but thats because he teaches conceptually and expects people to understand them.
Be sure to do the thought questions well in advance to exams. If you practice writing out things, it does help a lot. Make sure your notes are clear, and ask q's if not. The book isn't necessary. He likes it when you ask q's. He does tend to play favorites, so try to get on his good side. The lab takes up a lot of your time.
Also had him for 180. Extremely intelligent man, no doubt about that. The notes are extremely detailed and you must understand the concepts or you will do terrible on the exams. I've never run out of time for his exams for both classes I took, so maybe some people just don't know the material. He is definitely the best professor I have ever had.
He is a good teacher. Lecture style is different then other classes but it is to prepare you for Grad school. Plus the goal is for you to understand the material not just memorize it. Test are based on his lectures. If you take good notes and understand what is said in class you are set. Just study the notes and you will do well on the tests.
One of the hardest professors I've ever taken, but LOVE HIM!!! So intelligent and concise during lectures because they are story-like. Lectures are intense, but if you study them, tests are easy. No book necessary. No favoritism, but he likes students that genuinely try and not brown-nose.
Difficult teacher, but amazingly clear. Isn't that just ideal, though? You learn the most out of classes that you struggle in, and I guarantee you'll walk out of one of his classes feeling like a pro. All of his classes are difficult.
Not the greatest speaker, but he does try his hardest to help us learn. I went from getting less than 50 on the first test to getting 75's on the next tests, simply because he pushed us to try harder. He is very sincere about what he does, even though it may seem like he doesn't like his students. He will teach you to try harder AND grow thick skin
This class was tough but interesting. Definitely see him during office hours if u do bad on the first test. He will teach u how to study. And study study study. Know all the pathways in details. One of the hardest class I have taken but I learned the most.
I took him in Fall '11 and found the class fairly difficult to follow. He used a different prof.'s PPT and didn't review them prior to class. Not real clear in many of his concepts and due to time constraints of the course, moved at a vigorous pace. He also will not post exam results for you to learn from or verify.
trying to understand him takes special skills. he uses so much verbal flares that it becomes impossible to focus. He laughs weird making you uncomfortable to talk to him. USES SOMEONE ELSE SLIDES and complains about it. very difficult class and the teacher makes it worse. The professor switched on the students 1st day. I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR HIM..
The only downside about this professor is that he's not a great lab instructor, he uses the other lab instructors lab exams and seems lost half the time.
This is a difficult class, probably one of the most challenging classes at Sac State, but Dr. Nguyen is an amazing lecturer. He is very thorough and gives many examples to aid in your understanding. I am sooo glad that I had him for 121. I recommend recording lectures because the class moves quite fast.
It was one of the hardest classes I've ever took. Immunology is hard by itself. However, Dr. Nguyen was very picky in his exams (half fill-in, half essay) in many instances. He said he goes by the book, but sometimes what he says/tests on contradicts the book. He lacks clarity and sometimes says stuff in a twisted unclear way. Not recommended.
Professor Nguyen was not that bad. I admit he talks too fast and has an accent, but if you go to his office hours he'll help you understand. Recording his lectures is a must. Book isn't really required since PPT's has everything he wants you to know. Go to lectures because he explains things more in depth, which will most likely be on the exams.
Without a doubt the worst teacher I've ever had. He will say that you are only responsible for what he says in lecture and what is on his power points hut that's not true. He routinely puts questions on the testthat never covered by lecture or pp. his questions are confusing and he teaches things wrong and then puts them on the test right.
Class is extremely difficult. Tests have subjects not mentioned in lectures. Coming from a bio major, I recommend you take someone else.
Super hard. Put things on tests that were never on the pp. Can't stand him. Better luck reading the book. Knew someone who got high B's and never showed up for lecture whereas I struggled to get above a D. Awful.
Of course this class is difficult, but it's not as bad as other reviews make it out to be. I think Dr. Nguyen is a great lecturer; he is to the point, but will explain further if you ask. People complaining about him are simply lazy and don't want to study. Tests are based off of lecture material only, so recording lectures is a MUST.
Very unclear with his lectures. Says one thing on one day, and then contradict himself the next. Watch out for the exams: He will grade you on the grammar in your fill in the blank responses (even though his own phrasing is terrible and confusing). Avoid at all costs or you will have one miserable semester!
I'm not sure what kind of student would actually give this guy a good rating. He is the professor I've ever had. Has no interest in breaking down the material for us students to understand. Don't give yourself a migraine and stress take someone else
He is terrible instructor. Class notes are never clear, he say something one day and the next day class he correct himself and confuse you more. there is a Online Class in Berkeley, If you can take this class online, due a least you will pass the class on the first time. If you can not pay for it I will have his pass test on Ebay around summer.
Attending lecture and recording his lectures are a must. He goes through the material very fast. Memorizing won't do you any good in this class. Grade is based on 5 exams, but curves depend on class performance.
He wants to help students, but he just doesn't know how. He is extremely knowledgeable, but not very good at teaching the material. You must be primarily an auditory learner to do well in the class. Class average D+. Something is wrong. Take this class and no other classes the same time, you will need to devote all of your time here.
If you've been breezing through your other bio classes without much studying andor procrastination, get ready to fail. This class is no joke. It's difficult even for the students who usually get A's in their other classes. The lectures are super detailed and Dr. Nguyen talks really fast, so record his lectures! Brush up on your study skills, srly.
Dr. Nguyen teaching style is kind of confusing, however if you record his lectures and pay attention take notes in class, you'll be set. The only problem is his exams are very convoluted and confusing because he has needed to change them up.
Dr. Nguyen is quite a character. His class is not easy but it is doable. Record every lecture because his tests come directly from them. It is a lot of info but if you ever have a question go to his office hours and he will help and even offers advice on how to study for his tests. Watch out for exam wording. Overall a tough but good professor
He is a great lecturer and provides a lot of material to assist his students. It was a really hard class but if you go over all of the material, attend all the lectures, and put in effort you will pass. People that don't like him tend to be lazy and want the material spoon fed but it is an upper division bio class for a reason.
Nguyen is... a great person, but is not cut out for a lab professor. His examsquizzes are open notebook which would lead you to believe it would be a piece of cake. Its not. You need to make sure you write EXACTLY what he says during the lecture part, because his exams are tricky. No points for notebook. Hardly any ppl passed the lab portion.
Nguyen is a good professor and understands the material. He has ALOT of material to go over each lecture, bring a recorder.. you WILL want to re-listen to the lectures and take more notes after each one. Any questions, just ask him. Hard class, really need to take a lot of time and memorize what he says in order to get even a C+.
Worst Professor so far at Sac State. Doesn't curve even when the average for an exam is below a 50%. Not organized at all, not clear regarding material on exams. Doesn't use any form of study guides for tests either. 6 tests consisting of 3 lecture and 3 lab exams per midterm session. one final exam. No extra credit.
The worst professor I've ever had. Super hard talked in monotone and had a strong accent. DO NOT Take
I really like Dr. Nguyen. He's a tough grade. If you don't go to class, you aren't going to pass. The only factors in your grade are tests. You don't need the book at all. Everything on the test will be said in lecture or on the powerpoint slides. I recommend recording, just to make sure you didn't miss anything. Sometimes he goes really fast.
Take the time to really know Dr. Nguyen and you will find that he is always compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about his content. He is an encyclopedia of knowledge and draws connections from many of the other classes he teaches (immunology, cancer bio, and cell and molec). His exams were fair and covered the content that was lectured.
Dr Nguyen is a great professor. His class is challenging but the subject matter itself is difficult ( this is upper division bio folks). Listen to his lecture, takes notes and I found it most helpful to record his lectures and re-listen to them again the next day ( while going over my notes). Grades based only on exams. he adds points. take PAL
Grade in this class is basely only on 5 exams. Doesn't curve exams, even if the highest grade is a B. He has no structure, he comes to class and speaks what ever he remembers. He has no powerpoints, whatever he remembers is what he teaches, using no notes, or without reviewing his notes as he tells us in class. He contradicts himself, and the book.
He is a great guy who loves what he teaches. He is very big into critical thinking and is expecting absorption of very fine details which cn make test hard. The averages float around 60-70% on test but he adds points. Be sure to record his lectures because the power points dont have all the info you need.
This class is all what you put into it. Dr. N is the most helpful Professor in the department, he will literally talk to you for an hour. A lot of individuals don't know how to study for this class and struggle. In all reality its super easy. RECORD THE LECTURES and use them to annotate the power points. The tests are WORD FOR WORD what he says!
Passing Bio 121 with Dr. Nguyen is possible, dont believe everything you hear. I loved the class, and I think he prepares students better for other upper division Bio classes, theyre not easy! Go to class, record his lectures, write down everything he says, and you will get a good grade. Hes always willing to talk to you outside of class as well
I took this class with Micro and Chem 124, and still managed to do well. Dont let the other reviews discourage you. Youll learn a lot, the material is interesting, and Dr. Nguyen is very good at teaching it. Record his lectures!! I loved this class, and I would take him again.
I took this class along with biochem, ecology, and evolution and got a B. The content for this class is hard no matter what professor you take. i personally liked him and enjoyed lecture and learned alot. I would take his class again or others he teaches. Make sure to record lectures and study. He gives extra points on exams if class scores low
If you aren't an auditory learner, you will become one because thats the ONLY way you will get your information in this class. His ppts are not his so you only will know whats relevant if you record lectures and write notes (which are DENSE, about 10-12pgs white paper per lecture.)5 exams, structure: a, b, c, a AND c, ALL/none of the above.
He is very passionate about science and is a great person. He has extreme knowledge on what he teaches but you might struggle if you're not a good auditory learner. He teaches very fast which causes him to mess up often and contradict himself often. You MUST record the lectures if you want to learn all the material and take very good notes.
I took Dr. Nguyen for Bio 121 and for Bio 149a, and I honestly liked him a lot for both. Put in the effort, and you'll get the grade that reflects it. For both classes, there are five exams and no other graded assignments, so you have to do well on exams. Record his lectures, and rewrite everything exactly how he says it.
This is a hard class no matter who you take it with. Theres no grade buffer for his section but if the class average is low then he adds points. Four lecture exams and one cumulative final (50 cum+50 last lecture stuff) will make your grade. Record his lectures and listen to them 2 or 3 times. Multiple choice and some essay ?s on lec exams.
His lectures are long and have a ton of excess information that isn't even on the exams
Dr. Nguyen is a nice guy but the worst professor I have ever had. Huge discrepancy in what was on the lecture slides and what he was talking about which made it extremely difficult to know what to expect on the exams. He makes his exams difficult for the sake of making them difficult, not really testing you on what you know.
I had him spring semester and he was honestly one of the toughest professors Ive had thus far for my Sac state career. However, if you put in the time and work in his class, your grade will reflect that. I really like Dr. Nguyen despite the negative reviews, hes a nice person both in and outside of class, hes very knowledgeable!
Super strict with how he formats his exams and he makes you work hard for the grade you want. He doesn't like it when students tell him how to give out exam (extend test time, etc.). He likes you to think critically. Attend and record his lectures and re-listen. Then if you still need clarification go to his office hours and he'll help you a lot.
DO NOT TAKE! I only took Nguyen because he is the only professor that teaches Virology. The class is interesting but the professor is challenging and confusing. Only graded on exams. No extra credit and assignments available. HARD!
Hao was the hardest teacher I took this semester. No type of other assignments or homework. Only quizzes and exams. Very hard to understand. He believed getting a C was doing perfectly fine in his class. I do not believe that. Not something I enjoyed. Class average was always low.
Senior, taking 121 during my semester. The hardest professor I've ever had. Thankful this is virtual learning I wouldve dropped if this was in person. Unless this is the ONLY class you're taking, avoid Nguyen like the plague
Don't take this dude. semester after semester of students have had issues with him, raised issues to the dean, and seen little change. he will test you on material not covered in his lectures which he states is where he pulls the questions from. he thinks having a class average of 55 on tests is funny and means we are doing well. trick questions.
so difficult to understand his teaching. I am NOT referring to his accent but his constant use of "uhhh" and "umm" every other word make it very difficult to follow what he's teaching. I am thankful we're online this semester so i have the opportunity to watch his recordings, if this were in person I'd be done for
I feel bad for those taking Nguyen during fall 2021. He says he'll be the only professor teaching all 3 sections giving you no other option. Not worth the stress. His exams are all trick questions. He gives 20 points extra on exams to raise the average score to a 70%. Imagine having to give 20 points just to raise the average to a C. Horrible prof
All I got to say is the exams don't seem to correlate to the lecture material. His exams were hard just to be hard but did not actually go over the lecture. Not to mention he is hard to understand. He constantly says uhhh over and over. While the lectures may have been recorded, his connection wasn't great. Overall class averages were insanely low.
During the lectures, he was very clear and gave us useful slides to use as a study guide, but during his quizzes, he mentions information he never said during lectures. Whats even worse, he would not let us have access on what we got wrong for our quizzes which left the whole class confused and worry for our grade. highly not recommend.
I took his class when it was online and I also had him in person for cell molecular bio. Lectures don't correlate with the exams, he has exam answers a-d with all of the above, none of the above, and two are correct. Very difficult class just take it through UC Berkeley online it is way easier.
I took his bio10 class online and definitely would not recommend. He talks super fast during lectures, stutters a lot, and says uh and ummm a lot during lecture which makes it super hard to follow along.
He is really sweet but only does powerpoints so pay attention
I really enjoyed Professor Nguyens online class. Hes a really sweet and understanding teacher who curved all of his tests so my grade definitely benefited from that. Grades are solely based on tests but test questions are based off his lectures so if you study and go over his powerpoints, you should be good!
The material is difficult but its very possible to pass the tests solely on the slides and not attending the lecture- for online at least. Very generous with curves so overall great professor.
professor nguyen is a really nice and sweet person that cares about his students and wants them to succeed in this class. even though attendance is optional, its really really important that you attend if you want to do well his exams. attend his lectures, and study from the slides and youll be fine :)
Class is tough but if you listen to lectures twice you should do well and type his slides for notes and everything he says for the exam! The class consists of only 4 exams plus anoptional final that can only benefit your grade. Always curves for class average to be above 75% overall if you study his lectures your good just need to put time into it.
I whole heartedly believe that you must really work for what you want, especially in this class. I personally was NOT on my game this semester but I did fairly well but I knew I could do better. Anyone can get a good grade ONLY if you put in the work. Go to the lectures, listen well and always take notes. STUDY. For example quizlet.
Dr. Nguyen is probably the most difficult professor youll have as an undergrad because he expects you to do well. Dont be intimidated by what other students have said about him. He truly wants everyone to succeed and LOVES teaching. You can see he puts a lot of effort in as hes constantly lecturing many classes in a semester. Hes great!
Great intro bio class! He incorporates some real world medical related stuff, since most students are pursuing health science degrees. No homework, 3 or 4 non-cumulative OPEN NOTE tests, the final was optional and cumulative and replaced the lowest score. He gives you the slides to use as notes, still go to class! Take if you're a good test taker!!
I took this class online, and it was one of the easiest intro bio classes Ive taken. You dont need a textbook, and everything is based on the slides he provides for you. As long as you study for the exams using the slides, you will be fine. I passed with an A+, if I could do it so can you!
his teaching style is to lecture for a couple weeks and then take the test. personally i liked the way he did things because he is clear on the material. your whole grade will depend on 4 tests, but he curves it so the average will even out and it is open note. just pay attention and you will do well on all his exams.
Do not let other reviews scare you. He can go a little quickly during lecture but if you study you will be just fine. No textbook and attendance is not required. He recorded all of his lectures so if you missed one class you could rewatch it (also comes in handy for studying). If you have any questions on anything make sure to ask them!
This class is very lecture and test-heavy. There are 4 Exams and the Final is optional, they are open notes and book. I would recommend attending lectures because he gives extra info that isn't on the slide but will be on the exams. The PowerPoint is the study guide. Also, make a study group and go over the material. He also answers questions.
Dr. Nguyen is one of the most humble and kind professors you will ever meet. He is not a tough professor per se but the upper-division courses he teaches are difficult by nature. grade is dependent on four exams and there are no surprise or trick questions on the exams. As long as you attend class and study the powerpoints well, you will be fine
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. Does not respond to any emails Ive emailed him over 6 times, tests are based strictly on his slide shows! 60 minutes for 50 questions and only graded on 4 exams. No help whatsoever, be prepared to study only! No extra credit or any boosters or any kind of help. WOULD RECOMMEND TO AVOID HIM AT ALL COST
Try to avoid him at all costs. He goes super fast on lectures and he has a thick accent. Prepare to teach yourself in this course. He has a bunch of exam questions in a small time frame. He would add 10 points or less to each exam to bring the average exam score up to 75%. He stated only 26% students are in the A range and it was already exam 3/4.
He is super unclear on his lectures. This class is not about learning as much as we can, rather it is about memorizing every word he says out of fear it will be on the exam. He backtracks and is rarely prepared for lecture. When our average was low, he spent the entire class dismissing our concerns in a very condescending way.
worst professor I have ever had.
This professor was the worse professor I've had in a while. He offered no solutions when the overwhelming majority of the class wasn't passing. His lectures were often off-topic and unorganized. He didn't offer much help to students struggling with his exams. PLEASE AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!
He isn't the worse professor, although he could be a lot better. I'm an A-student, but I essentially gave up on learning for this class as his lectures were confusing due to his accent and organization of content. His lecture exams were online and were composed of PowerPoint notes and what he talked about that we would need to know.
He is fine. Class is graded on four difficult exams. One extra credit final. He is not a great listener and does not like emails asking questions. Overall ok class. Tests are exactly what he says in lecture so record them or take word for word notes. Good luck.
Where do I begin...This professor sent out an email late at night raging about how students need to learn manners bc of grading conflicts. Like what?? he's super unprofessional. Plus, he gets super defensive and upset whenever you voice out your opinion about the exams. NO CURVES, NO EXTRA CREDIT. Your grade is all about your exams. So study hard.
L professor. no extra credit, accent is hard to understand, just reads and barely teaches, gets off topic a lot, has an ego and doesn't like it even if you question the test or make simple suggestions, doesn't answer emails, average for our first exam was a D and only a handful of people got above an 88. no curve and no review no nothing from him.
This class was hard but professor definitely made it harder. Grade depends on 4 exams/Final, no other assignments. When lecturing he would read off slides, get side tracked and not answer questions correctly. He does not respond to emails, told people to drop the class if they couldn't handle it, gets defensive if you question him. Overall awful.
Very understanding professor, He cares about his students and wants to makes sure you understand. Pay attention, jot down notes, STUDY and you will pass !
People said he had an accent that was hard to understand which simply isn't true. Grades only on 4 exams, open note but timed. Don't have to attend class at all, but I'm sure hearing the lectures would help. One extra credit exam at the end of the year that replaces a bad score. Seems caring. Only dropped because I couldn't attend physically.
This professor gave me a headache all semester! he will say attendance is not mandatory because tests are based powerpoint, but its his lectures are on the tests. Most of info he talks will not be on his slides & if you ask questions he gets irritated which made me not ask at all. Grades are based off quizzes only! Record the lectures! Good luck
This class was something. The best advice I would give someone is to record the lectures and then go back to listen to it and take detailed notes. The better your notes are the better you will get in the class! Attendance isn't mandatory but I wouldn't miss a class because then you would't understand what is happening.
Your grade is based off of five exams. He lectures off of PowerPoints but the slides do not contain all the information that he says in class. Attendance is not necessary, but if you want an A, go to every class and type down everything he says and you will be fine. Exams were online and open note and did not need to be in class to take them.
Grade is based on 4 exams. The final is optional, it can replace your lowest test score if you take it. Attendance isn't mandatory but his lectures are more detailed than the lecture slides.
best senior level professor! plus all the course content is super interesting! idk why people do not like him. he has rules set in place in HIS class and ppl complain about it....anyways, just attend lectures, pay attention, record, and study, just like any other class.
Only grades on 4 tests (replaces 1 with opt. final). His multiple choice final is awful and the highest score was only 74. Tests in class are fill-in-the-blank/essay questions which are better than mc. I don't know if I am passing or not because my score is 62% right now but I heard that he adjusts at end so we'll see. Overall, don't take him.
Professor Hao's BIO10 class is challenging, but staying engaged with the lectures and using study tools like Unstuck AI can really help. Attendance is a must, and taking detailed notes is key to acing the exams.
Professor is overall nice and sometimes cracks jokes. Attendance is not required, but I recommend attending. You are only graded on 5 exams and the questions can come from the lectures. No homework at all but studying is encouraged. Honestly the concepts are pretty hard to understand even though his lectures are pretty informative.
as a straight A student, this class was very difficult - but only because of the professor. the concepts are tough (mainly molecular bio: protein synthesis, krebs cycle, gene expression...). but, he also has no regard or care for his students or their success. his emails were full of typos, it takes several emails to get a response. 0/10. horrible.
Just avoid at all costs. I am in my third year as a straight A student, and I have never had a professor so unprofessional and made things so unnecessarily difficult. He accused our class of cheating on OPEN NOTE EXAMS. All of his test questions are designed to have such a large grey area and confuse you. Just take a different professor.
Genuinely the worst professor I've ever had. Doesn't respond to emails ever. Grade is 100% based on 5 exams. He told the class he would curve our grades at the end of the year and never did. Also said that the final exam was optional, yet it still impacted the grade. Do NOT take this teacher!!!
Told everyone at beginning of semester that course is based only on 4 exams and the final was optional (which it was counted towards final grade) then accused the whole class of cheating. On top of that he said he'd add 10 points towards each exam, which he did not. Never explained how to “self-report” grades, and when asked he got irritated.
He is the WORST professor iv had he accused the class of cheating on an open note test that was.The week before finals he said were were don't then texted there are still more thing that need to be taught then the next morning she said we don't have class, I asked and he said we are done with class I am not sure how is that hard to comprehend.
5 exams, no hw, no assignments, no extra credit, do NOT TAKE. his tests are tricky and worded weirdly. i studied 2 hours, 3 times a week and listened to the lectures over and over again, just to end up with a D on a test. i don't recommend this class, please take a different professor. his exams are open note and my class average was a 58.
Made the class unnecessarily difficult. Very difficult tests with simple material. Be prepared to study HARD if you are a health science major
If I could go back in time I would choose to not take this class over winning the power ball lottery
He's lectures are really interesting. He grades based on 5 exams only but the exams even though hard they are online and open notes plus's we can take the exams were ever we want, which makes it easy cause you can use the slides or anything on the exams.
Hes OK. He grades off of 5 exams, which makes it hard to keep a good grade because he words his questions super weirdly. A plus is that he adds points to each exam which is appreciated
Exams were extremely difficult. 40% of the exam is based on really hard fill in the blanks and he rarely gives partial credit for these. Lectures don't help with learning, and your grade is only based on exams. Final is optional and will replace lowest exam grade.
This class is awful you are graded by 5 tests only and his lecture will contradict his slides so you have to make to listen to him not the slides. Chat gpt couldn't even help me. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS
Grades are solely based on exams, which there are only 5 of. Exam questions are multiple choice where you can only choose one answer, but most questions have “two options are correct” or “all options are correct.” Exams are very difficult as they are always worded weirdly. Lectures are not mandatory attendance, subject covered comes from lectures
Attendance isn't mandatory but lectures cover some material that aren't posted in the slides. Like a lot of people said, grades are based on how well you do on 5 exams but he adds additional points. The final exam is optional and replaces your lowest test score. The tests are worded weirdly. Studying with other people help.
