Don't take any class with this Delta if you can avoid her. Her broken english, bad lectures, lack of form in teaching, her awful hand writing, and shes always late to her own class! She plays favors and likes to challenge the students that already had her. She is also willy nilly on how she grades your work. It goes on..
can be tough to understnad, especially if you dont know computers.
Is very tough class. You really need to get involved, try hard and ask many questions. If you show the effort and ask questions during office hours you will get the help you need. The classes are not easy but that is what you are there for not to coast, what do you learn then. You better know computers and math. Their is much you can learn from her.
Have you ever late for any assigment due to sick? She will give you Zero without second thought. I have no appreciation to her as I have in any other professor. She is no good. Avoid her at any cost.
Nice personality. Just like friends.
High recommendation. She made me to work hard and I appriciate her as many times as I use excel at my work.My friend that did the same class to another school doesn't know to create a table. The most important is the knowledge not the grade.
Hard course. A lot of material to cover in just one course! A lot of HW, but you learn a lot. Really prepares you for the next level up. Delta is very knowledgeable and really wants her students to learn. But do not take this course if you just want an easy A! It is really nice (although challenging) to work with groups in half of the projects.
She's a the greatest prof. I've ever had. Knowledgeable, energetic, very helpful!!! It's a tough class, you can't expect an easy A. But you really get to learn a lot in her class. She really prepares us for a higher level. STRONGLY RECOMMEND TAKING HER CLASS.
Nice teacher. Friendly, helpful, knowledgable... Tough class, but that's only good for you.
If you're serious about learning, her class is the one you really should really take. The class covers a lot of interesting material. YOu'd get to learn a lot. In short, she's a great teacher.
Prof. Delta is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She's hard on her students without being insulting. She makes the course difficult but not impossible. And even tho she speaks with an accent, she is skilled at explaining the material.
she is most horrible teacher i have ever met. she is strict. she likes to give students 0. her quizzes and exams are hard, you could not even find answer on book. broken english makes me sick . Please do not take her classes. 23 students in the beginning of the semester. but only 6 left in the end.
If you want to learn CS seriously you should take her class. You need to spend more than 20 hours a week to get an A, if not you can't even guarantee to pass her class. My class started with 18 students but 12 students droped before final. However, I got an A. Try her!
She is not for everyone. I agree with the other statements that she plays favoritism. However, you will only pass if you are completely commited to cs. But if you are kind of student that doesn't have a good study habit, you should avoid her. The class is very hard in the beginning but gets a lot easier toward the end of the semester. Good Luck.
She is a nice professor.
She is horrible. Possibly worst teacher of all time. Many projects not involving actual programming. Mandatory group work. Weekly reports. She plays favorites. She is rude. Had arguments involving 6 page papers go to the dean. I ran nuclear power plants on submarines. Her final exam didnt work. Most of the class quit including two at the final exam
Take her class if you're serious about programming. Seriously. Just do it. Other profs are easier, but she'll go out of her way to help you if she sees you making an effort.
She is asking for a lot of time commitment outside the classroom but is very good at explaining the theory and cementing the knowledge with exercises. She clearly makes an effort to give everyone a fitting challenge so if you are ahead of the game you can get even more our of her class. Easy A? Definitely not! Worth the effort? Definitely yes!
She is very controlling. If you aren't a full time student (no job), then do not take her class. She will treat you like you are an idiot if you make mistakes. She has no issues with over half of her classes failing every semester. You have to be the perfect student to pass her class. If you struggle, don't ask her for help; learn it on your own.
If you do not have 20+ hours a week to devote to this one class, don't even try it. I am an engineering major who finds diff eq and physics to be quite easy, but not CIT-120 w/ Delta. Take it from me, this class is TOUGH. However, she is a good professor in the sense that you learn a LOT w/ her. Jusr not worth the effort for non-CS major imo
Very difficult. But the point is not on the homework or the techniques, which means she will let you do a lot of time-wasted dairy work and never tell you how to get the correct codes that she thought. Finally, you get tons of them undone and get a X grade.
She is very taght. If u don't have more than 20+ hours to study, drop this class please.
Delta knows her stuff and is effective in teaching. A LOT of time needs to be invested in this course to do well. I enjoyed her course but had to withdraw due to time constraints. It is a TOUGH course. If you're only mildly interested in programming take a different course.
worst class i ever took in my life; had to withdraw in the middle ; not only that i changed my major; tore my life apart
Perfect Professor for those who really interested and majoring in Computer Science
This was the most rewarding course I have ever taken at BHCC. While Delta is tough, she is also a wealth of knowledge & quite helpful. If you take CIT120 with her & do (at least fairly) well, you will learn an incredible amount about both programming essentials & also what it takes to succeed in CompSci/programming. Just be prepared to work hard.
Very confusing, She has horrible writing and grammar. She can be more helpful. Her labs examples have mistakes. Her grading is not fair. Any mistake = minus ten pts. Better off have a classmate explaining you what she is looking for before submitting homework. She expects you after class. Play favorites. Waste time, late. useless weekly reports.
Though professor Delta is knowledgable in computer science, she is a terrible at teaching. Here is a list of what to expect. Bad pronunciation. Hates to repeat herself. Cryptic labs (Yours will never be right or like hers). And an irrelevant midterm who's concepts she doesn't go over ever in class, which decides whether you pass or fail.Withdraw!
Great professor, but really tough. The time commitment is huge. Expect group meetings almost every weekend and lots of work outside of class. She is not joking about the time required. If you have a part time job, you should definitely look for a different professor.
Excellent professor for those who are willing to work hard. I suggest you dedicate at least 20 hours a week strictly to this course. This is the real deal, she focuses on theory in class, and has TONS and I mean TONS of great labs that will make most future programming courses a breeze. If you are serious about CS, take her class.
If you take CIT120 with any other prof, you are doing yourself a disservice. About 7 out of 26 passed when I took it, but if you pass you will have a deep understanding of the material. The people who don't like her failed the class because they didn't put in the work needed. The pace and challenge is refreshing compared to avg BHCC bird classes.
teacher she is hard to understand grammar is always off This teacher believes that her class is the most important and gives you work like a full time job she wants you to put in more than 80 hours on her class not to helpful she rather send you to a tutor than answer a question do not take her class unless you want to pull your hair out
She's uninterested inunsympathetic to students who don't have some grounding in either hard math or computer science. If you're not getting it by the end of adddrop, DROP. For the rest, she's an effective drill sergeant. You'll learn to code in very specific ways. It's a bit too myopicoverwhelming, but still decent practice. LOTS of time & work.
Coding for three years already. Honestly, her class did spent me a lot of time to master, I read through the whole text book in order to get an A from her. She pushes you to spent hours and hours to learn stuff after class. I want to say this to all the beginner programmers, that worth it, you won't regret if you truly want to write good programs.
Will have you know everything about programming in and out, no gaps in between. Perfect teacher if you really, genuinely want to know your stuff.
Before registering for this class read the following tips: -Read the book before registering; -Form solid study groups; -Expects you to know everything before entering the class; -She is a tough grader expect that your code is identical to hers even with the errors. Beware before taking this class that you should already be fluent in C++.
Expect to invest 20 hrs a week into this class. Many due dates are unreasonable. I spent more time writing group reports than writing programs. Her expectations are very unreasonable. She will check your lab until yours is 90% similar to hers, but only gives a small picture of what she wants. spent most of my lab time figuring out what she wanted.
First CompSci course I've ever taken. Recently graduated from Wentworth. I still think back to some of the fundamentals I learned in this course. Delta is an excellent teacher and will teach you what you need to succeed. The reality is, if you can't get a decent grade in this course, then you're not cut out for Computer Science.
expects high level skills from you. very tough..
I though I paid for this class to be taught. She just sent you to read at home, do labs without teaching, explaining it to you. You are on your own all the time. Google,YouTube are way more helpful than she is. Just a waste of time. Bunker Hill sucks.
If you have any questions doing a lab!! Better you go ahead and find that on google!! If you skip class you won't pass, if you get 10 min late you are absent. She can come to class 20 30 min late, nothing happened. Do a favor to yourself and don't even take this class.
She's TOUGH. But you'll learn a lot if you're paying attention and doing the labs. Hardest B- of my life, but I set up to handle the other classes with relative ease.
About The Professor The bad: 1) No help in and out of class. 2) Talks unclear and fast, and does not like to repeat parts of lecture. 3) Unclear in grading material (you need to ask her for your grade) 4) Perfectionist. Your code needs to be identical to hers and won't show the solution. The good: 1) You will learn excellent code formats.
She is the worst prof ever, she expects you to know everything. She has the heavy lab in every class and she doesn't teach you how to do the labs. It's all about you how you can figure out. I had to drop off at the end of the semester because of her worst teaching method I even changed my Major. Please don't take her class you will hate yourself.
Delta, I have learned so much in this class! Ultimately it came down to weather or not you put in the time necessary to actually learn the material (she was clear from the get go) What she has done is taught me how to THINK about an algorithm. She extremely smart and has pushed me to challenge myself. I recommend her if you're serious about CS.
This class is only difficult If you don't pay attention, or miss class and fall behind. She gives very detailed lectures and always stays after class to take questions from students. Great foundation to have and start of with as a C.S. major. If you're looking for your money's worth, this class is for you. Team work is also a mandatory.
This class is by far more difficult than most classes you'll take at the college. Delta expects you to do the reading ahead of time, and builds on the foundations found in the textbook in class via lectures/group projects. Although she is a hard grader, she is very willing to work with you during office hours. You WILL have to commit 20 hours/week
This course was the hardest I have ever had, because she asks you to write a program that exactly like hers, so if you want to write the program on your own take a textbook and do yourself a favor learn at home or take another professor.
When I took CIT-120 with her I thought she was tough but now that I am about to graduate and after taking higher programming courses I appreciate the things she made me learn and I feel truly lucky to have had her.
She is the worst professor ive ever had.
Deltas class is not an easy A, but you should definitely take it if youre serious about programming. Its the type of class where you come out feeling confident about what you learned. Theres reading every week, with labs and quizzes. The labs can be tough, but it was also the most fun Ive ever had doing homework. Take the class, its worth it.
If you choose to take a class with this professor be ready to study on your own. If I knew she was like that I'd had chosen take this course online because I basically study on my own by reading the books and with the help of friends, tutors and internet. She doesn't teach absolutely anything and isn't helpful at all. She wants everything her way.
Professor Delta is one of the best instructors I ever had. She trains her student using her own way but what you get back from that is the solid skill for the future road. I have not taken any other cit-120 instructors but I truly believe she has the most challenging class in CIT department.
Don't take her. She's the toughest professor ever. She will not teach you anything. Expects you to do everything by yourself. Come to class with everything done by yourself.
Delta is a tough cookie for sure and makes you work. But she also makes you understand exactly what youre doing and she sets you up for success. Taking her class as my first programming class made upper level classes a lot better because I had developed good programming habits as a result of this course. She's also really fun! Just do your hw!
Bad idea. Never take her. you'll regret. tough. I had to drop my class.
She is teaching using the flip class room model. You really HAVE to read the book before you come to class. Then you discuss the topic and she gets you beyond what is in the book. She clarifies the hard parts and has labs that helps you apply what you learned. She spends a lot of time teaching you good study skills too. Great foundation for future.
Professor Delta is awesome. Her class is definitely challending but she is accessible outside of class, is very responsive via email when you need guidance, and is overall a great person to know. Groupwork can be beneficial if you end up with a strong group. I am happy to have taken her class as my first computer science course at BHCC.
Excellent professor with deep knowledge of the subject matter that she is willing to share with her students. She always has "extra" things for the students who want to take it to the next level. She doesn't give extra credit for those but they are interesting and fun to try if you want to flex your programming skills muscles.
Give individual feedback to every student. The trick is to do the assigned work including the readings home and come to class ready to be checked. Then she tells you what you need to fix before you submit. The only way not to do well is if you don't come with something for her to check. The labs are challenging though and there is weekly groupwork.
Professor Delta can be difficult at times, but she is a very knowledgeable professor who expects the best from her students and also makes the time to answer questions as they arise. You HAVE to read the textbook and you HAVE to do the work (obviously), but she helps you build good foundations for further courses, which is highly beneficial.
People I just want to warn you guys that these awesome comments to her can be false and we dont know who the writer is. Just dont trust these awesome comments for her.
may be challenging to some students but always has office hours for those who want more help. also lets you attend her other classes if you really need more help or you missed a class. weekly online homework assignments which aren't hard if you read the textbook. reads your code for each lab and gives feedback. will give lots of advice for future
This is college so I don't understand why people are upset that the class is difficult. This is one of the only courses at Bunker Hill that will actually challenge you and prepare you for the real world. Professor Delta has clearly been teaching for a long time and works very hard to ensure students have a good foundation for success.
Just Read the book, and ask question ( FLIPPED CLASSROOM) if you are waiting for the professor to go over everything there is in the book for you... well this is probably not your class.
I have not seen a professor's class that so many people just drop next week of her class, writing as a mentor of her class. She does not teach you anything, she gives the book and homework the rest you've gotta do yourself. This class for you if you want just read, not for if you are a foreign student or person who doesn't like to read a all. luck
Prof. Delta is one of the best professors I have ever encountered in BHCC. she has Very clear grading lines; she makes sure you read and understand every single thing on the book; great labs, which actually helps you develop coding skills; she makes you adopt a very professional way of writing codes. if you want to learn CS, her class is the best!
The CIT-120 class was challenging, but it prepared me for the rest of my journey at BHCC. If you are ready to do the assigned homework, read the appropriate chapters before class, and listen to her advice; you will be surprised to see how much you will grow. I would recommend anyone who wants to have a strong foundation to take her class.
Helps you be a better student. Lots of work but also lots for help. Make sure you get into a good group and definitely READ the book many many times. Plenty of programming practice and quiz study guides so make sure you have time to go over them and you will be fine. Pay attention to the details and don't expect to learn without studying.
Delta is a great professor, but she is very tough, she wants the labs to be nearly perfect. If you read the book, do your work, and participate in class you will get a good grade. The bad thing is that there is no extra credit to make-up for quizzes. Quizzes depend on how good you read the book and also studying the problems she posts online.
She is by far the worst teacher ever. She gives a lot of homework. She doesn't teach anything in the class. All she does is give you homework and labs. Also for the homework you have 2-3 days to finish almost 60-70 questions. The test are almost 60% of your grade. If you fail 1 or 2 test, you will never have a A or B in her class.
Best and most complete course website with great handouts. Make sure you read and understand them all. Many quiz questions come from there. If you read the book and come prepared you will get plenty of individualized feedback to clear any misconceptions you have. Just don't cheat, she checks the online HW manually and gives you 0 if you copied it!
Gives everything that you will need and explains everything thoroughly. However you have to pay close attention to everything and not get distracted because everything is important and everything will be needed. You have to do everything as she says or else she will like take it. She does not give feedback of your work so you won't know how you did
Not the average watered down every one passes course. You need to study and understand what you read if you want to pass. Mandatory attendance but I don't see how you can pass if you don't attend because a lot of the things she explains are insights that are not found in any book. Great labs and projects to help you understand the theory.
Take this if you can commit to spending 8-16 hours for this class alone on coursework outside of class. Lots of work, but you learn a TON. Knowledge/projects from this class got me an internship, which then HIRED me! Great for CS majors who want to know the material well. Textbook covers basics, Delta teaches the tricky bits. Quizzes are hard, study!
Get ready to have things done a specific way and not be shown or taught how to do it.
Class is lecturing about how to do homework; which is already written online. Lectures are vapid and devoid of content. 0 feedback in class about code. Students drop every semester. When she lectures about how to do something, she doesn't allow you to do it if it's on a computer. Good luck remembering 20 minutes of broken english.
She's the worst nightmare you can ever have! She gives a lot of homework. She likes to make things overcomplicated! For doing her work, I had to go to 3 different websites everytime to finish it. She focuses more on "job training" than actual Programming or coding! And last but not least, her jokes are not funny.
SHE DOESNT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR GRADE. NEVER HAVE EXPERIENCED SUCH A AWFUL TEACHER!
Hard but worth it! You get your money's worth. Top notch learning at Community College rate.
she created multiple webpages to complicate students homework submission. she insists you post non-course relate info there and as multiple classes have passed she has not started teach students anything about coding. she waste students time and money but like students to cheer her up. she insists you buy expensive textbook but do not teach it.
Delta is a teacher for only one type of student. The type that will shut up and follow instructions to the tee. Obviously following instructions is important but she does not help and goes very fast while speaking in broken english. The flipped classroom model is just an excuse to make her job easier for herself. Prepare to learn everything bys.
If you are not paying attention to every little detail in the book and the course web site you don't have a prayer! I guess that is a good skill to learn in compute science.
You need to know the book content forward and backwards and be able to locate information fast or you will fall behind. Tests are announced and are based on information on the handouts mostly and sometimes on book examples. Nothing that was not covered, but LOTS of things are covered! There are sample test questions too to help you prepare.
Her class is as hard as it gets for bunker hill. Her projects challenge your understanding of the reading material and the projects build of from each other. Overall I would recommend this professor especially if you are serious about computer science.
For fall 2019 Semester, 23 students had enrolled for this class, only 3 people passed. The rest of 20 students either failed or withdraw-ed. I don't think I need to say anything more.
get ready to study on your own here. all i have to say
Stay away from her as far as possible. Most of the students in her class fails. Confusing lectures because of her broken english, she's just doesn't do her job (teaching) and blame students at not reading the textbook even though you've read it thousand of times. Good luck understanding her broken english. Pick another professor EXCEPT her!!!!!
I did not find her grading too tough, but it might be for some as she is very specific about how you complete assignments. All the "handouts" are online and easily accessible, however, I found the formatting and layout to not be the best. You will not skate by in this class, but if you pay attention it's not hard to pass.
I took this course and couldnt pass, received C, BUTT professor Delta is highly recommended. She has lots of homework and makes you ready for the best. Few cons about her is communication, she sends an email with lots of information which makes you overwhelmed and she didn't respond my email. If I had chance, I would take her class with no doubt!
She has a broken English not only in speaking but in the materials she gives to her student too; I guess this is why she does not want to explain anything, instead be prepared to study on your own and read the textbook, which is not so much helpful or related to her Assignments or labs. Hint, STAY AWAY FROM HER.
Stay away from her if you are new to programming.
Delta is a teacher for only one type of student. The type that will shut up and follow instructions to the tee. Obviously following instructions is important but she does not help and goes very fast while speaking in broken English. The flipped classroom model is just an excuse to make her job easier for herself.
If you care, look for other classes. She is really bad.
I do not recommend her at all. Look for other classes.
Unprofessional and rude professor. Don't waste your money and time, you won't pass the course.
She gave clear detailed instructions for labs and always graded them by next class. Make sure you invite her to your breakout room to share your work, get feedback and participation points. You need to choose a teammate by the first week or so and It could be a matter of luck to get a good partner but she moved me to a better team when I ask her.
Although the course description says "Intro to computer science" this course is not a beginner friendly course at all. Professor Delta prioritizes more on getting a job than the learning aspect. Very tough grader. I have found the higher level CSE course easier than this intro course.
Oh boy avoid this women like covid. This is not a beginner friendly course whatsoever, the difficulty doesn't lie in the material itself, but the teachers way of designing it. She's one of those teachers who will answer a question you have with "oh its in the handout" She designed it so she dont have to work and expects the students to grade others
Worst professor ever ! Does not care about teaching or her students. Tells you to read or meet the mentor but god forbid we ask the professor a question! Assigns projects gives you little time to complete it and doesnt set examples for them dont take this class unless you want to see yourself differently.
Professor Delta is knowledgeable but she is not good at explaining the content or accommodating students if they make the slightest mistake. There were a few reasonably bright and hard-working kids in our class, however, only those with previous experience with programming got grades higher than B+, which feels wrong for an introductory class.
Extremely knowledgeable and approachable. She made appointments with me on weekends to give me feedback on projects. Everything you need to know is pointed out in class and was included in her handouts - no note-taking, yay, but you do have to read everything! :(
It's clear this prof is EXTREMELY smart, therefore expects A LOT out of you. I really enjoyed the class but did struggle with confidence because it was very much a "self-guided" class. Be prepared to learn from a textbook and apply/practice in your classwork/labs. That being said - I believe the things I learned in this class will be very useful.
Don't expect to be spoon fed the answers. Be ready to read and exercise your brain. I found it hard in the beginning since I never programed before and I found it annoying that she was picky and insisting on perfection, but soon I found great satisfaction that I was able to write quality code even as a beginner.
if you want to pass don't take her class pls .you'll regret it
Not a straightforward professor. Course seems disorganized and there aren't clear directions for labs and homework (except Revel). She'll waste time in class doing irrelevant things (time management) then blame students for wasting time. Most certainly not a beginner friendly class- you seem to be expected to already know C++.
Professor Delta is not the teacher for you if you are new to programming. Poor teaching style, rushes chapters leaving you confused, expects you to understand the totally foreign information within a couple of practice problems, and grades you off your inevitably poor performance and then precedes to tell you it's your fault. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
This class covers a lot of material in such a little time which I guess is not her fault. She starts from the easiest program of writing your name on the monitor and has lots of clear instructions and screenshots so it is easy to follow if you try. It gets hard fast though so make sure not to skip a class or skim on the readings.
She gives nice examples and explains the hard parts of the readings. She provides starter code examples and gives a lot of ideas to play with it. If you need more help or lab time she allows students to come to her other sections. She gives great feedback in the breakout rooms but I learned much more when I started attending her in person section.
Clearly knowledgeable - doesnt give feedback after assignment due - felt like i was supposed to have experience in C++ prior to this INTRO class - class participation matters as it should - i didnt like not knowing my grade til the end of the semester - made me really nervous for if i was passing or not - id say take a diff prof for intro class
Do not take this course if you're ACTUALLY a beginner in programming, and if you do retake her class, I assure you that you will only be fixing the mistakes that you made in the last semester with her rather than fixing them right after receiving feedback if she allowed it. Extra credit for this course us is nonexistent, as well.
she will disorder you mental health
Rapid fire questions throughout entire lecture, calls you out when you're right/wrong, if you're wrong you don't get class participation. has a dense way of thinking, assumes everyone learns the same. I asked her for help, she didn't answer my questions and criticized me for having a slower computer. She considers all outside resources cheating.
Great live feedback on labs. Helped a lot to clarify things. Were allowed multiple attempts in the interactive lecture part.
Absolutely amazing experience. Concept is tough but she made it clear.
Asking her questions, but she pull up the youtube video. First class test is 7 bridges theory question, then she persuades student to change major.
Very smart professor. Although some may complain about her teaching style, her handouts are useful and she gives you clear instructions on labs. Also, studying for the class beforehand is a must to do well in the lab. I definitely recommend this professor.
Took this to get into the Computer Science field, came here not knowing basics and thinking I was going to learn, teacher will use powerpoints with zero meaning or in depth explanation, puts you through lots of work and will call you out if you are wrong to embarrass you. This teacher will mentally deteriorate you like she has done with me. 0/10.
Just dont take her class
Just dont take it she has some "problems"
Professor is demanding but the course material is manageable with a good textbook and resources like unstuck ai. Attend lectures, engage actively, and you'll learn a lot.
if you valuate you money and your time avoid delta.
Please avoid this class! Her class is not beginner-friendly, with poor materials, a lot of grammatical errors, unclear explanations, and inconsistent grades. If English is your second language, you'll struggle to understand her, and she may blame or yell at you in front of others. Bright side she replies to emails quickly.
Not that bad if you read the book and the handouts. She is very demanding but she gives you study guides and lots of labs so you can be ready for the quizzes. Lots of work but fun with interactive lectures.
Yep I Got an F, Even though i never missed a class and i finished all my homeworks, and i got good grade on quizzez..., all this effort and time was gone for NOTHING! because i got an F on the final exam as it is 60% of class, and it was hard af, a lot of students failed. So next semesters, I rather change school than taking this delta class again.
If you made mistakes in your homeworks or labs she will never let you know and you will never know your grades (except quizzez), until you fail in her final exam.
This class should come with a warning label: "Take it only if you have a PhD in computer science"
do not take this class. only students with prior coding experience will get an A. she will fail everybody . Like 5 out of 20 students passed the course ( not an exageration ).
It was a mistake to take this class. I thought I hated programming and was bad at it, but later took the same class with a different professor, did great, and now love programming.
man wallahi she failed more than half of students in her class, only 5 or 6 student passed her final exam, she dosen't care, i'm very disappointed and i hate the day i took this class :(
The professor is knowledgeable and transparency in tests, emailing missed questions along with suggested topics for improvement. She encourages self directed learning, so this course may not suit non-self-learners. If she provides mock programming final exam practice question like she do for tests in advance, the course would be prefect.
I am convinced these positive reviews are troll posts. I genuinely believe she enjoys watching students suffer. Her lectures are an absolute waste of 4 hours, With her fragile ego, she gets annoyed very easily when students question or challenge her methodologies, even when it's her fault.
If there's any teacher to break your spirit and make you question your career choice it'll be her. I'm 99% sure the only reason she's a teacher is bc BHCC knows how awful she is but they want to weed out kids from CS.
She made me to change my major, she treated us like children as she yelled at us with her broken english for using phones and being on our computers. My advice is don't take her class if you are new to programming you would have a hard time, she is very inconsiderate.
If you value your mental health and personal time do not take this class. Her teaching style and English are horrible. she made me question what the hell I was paying my tuition for and why someone like her could be a professor.
My face after every class :(
This class was my first time ever doing coding. The material is very difficult (c++ is difficult for me). However the text book is incredible, professor Delta is also amazing at explaining in her lectures. My advise would be get a head on the book, to be prepared for lectures and labs in class. She cares a lot about her students. She helps advising
This class feels like finding 2 minis right after drinking a big pot every single day until you finish. Best of luck.
One of the absolute worst professors I have come across at BHCC. if you screw up one little things on the exam it's an automatic letter down grade. AVOID THIS CLASS SHE IS UNBEARABLE. Every Monday that I see her, my day is ruined.
Delta class is one of the worst classes that you can take at BHCC, if you made one grammatical mistake either in comments or exams, you ain't get any points on the whole question, The exams are corrected by AI, she require from everybody to past their code in a txt file, So chatGPT can be able to grade your code. My best advice is avoid this class.
Great professor. Take her if you like a lot of structure (her syllabus is 35 pages long(actually read it)). Her class really isn't hard. Read the e-textbook and show up to class and you'll do well. Shes strict, but fair and kind.
She pick up some students as her favourite. Her grading system is confusing, Very very glad this semester is over.
She has a broken english, If you asked her a questions she either would reply "ask the mentor" or "Look at the handout, you're not reading the book". Seriously, how someone with such poor communication skills was approved to teach ?
She yells at students. Her fast pace and lack of patience make it pretty difficult to follow the material.Every class feels like an oral exam. She calls on students by name to answer questions. Only accepts code written her way, one space wrong costs points. Labs = 30min + 5min to submit. Tests up to 70 Qs, some w/ 10 options. If you value peace, run.
Ohh boy. The words are not enough to describe how awful she is, and its funny how you read this positive reviews (regardless the others) while the majority on class got C and F. She expect from you to write the code in the same way she does, in other word to get an A. DO YOUR BEST TO AVOID THIS PROF AT ALL COSTS.
Never taking it again
Each week when the class starts, she comes with three things: 1. Did you read? so, ask me questions 2 if you don't have questions I will ask and that she waste most of the class time asking unorganized and sometimes not related topics from the readings. 3. start your lab which she hides and opens at the spot to hide clue for you. Dont expect more!
Be ready for one of the most intense classes with the worst grading system to ever exist. Test are 70-75 questions, one tiny mistake has you going from 1-3 pt to 0. Instead of admitting it's a failure, she blames and yells at students. Be ready for anxiety surrounding that, especially if you are feeling like you are on the edge of passing/failing.
TBH, if I could go back to the past I'll. She's the prof that'll make u autonomous by doing lab, but if you didn't take the 120, one advice run away, you'll pass a semester without any feedback, and suddenly the administration will email u to drop the course. We start with 15, we only have 7 students left. GO AWAY FROM THIS CLASS, GO AWAY GO AWAY
Do not take this course if you value your time. Basically any student could've walked into this class not knowing anything about computers and still do a better job than she did. She spends half the class giving directions on how to submit the assignments then spends 2 minutes on giving directions on how to actually complete the assignment.
For future students: This Delta class is a waste of time, energy, and money !!
This is not a beginner-friendly class, If you want to stop doing Computer Science, then take her. They say this is an intro class for computer science, but in actuality, you are basically required to have past CS knowledge to even have a chance of surviving this class. She is a very tough grader and she is doing her best to fail the students.
0/5- honestly, void her class She doesnot check anything; she pushes through the chapters so she can say it is done. If you are planning to go into programming or anything related, you would definitely pick someone else. Her style is old school, and I believe she did not update herself to latest programing skills. Bottom line avoid her at any cost
