I didn't like him at first, but grew to like him. His classes can be slightly boring, but he is extremely helpful and friendly. LOVES HIS RATS!!!

Really nice guy. Gives straightforward lectures. His anecdotes are hilarious. You like rats on cocaine? Because he sure does! Attending the class is really not mandatory, but it can be helpful. Reading the textbook gets you by fine.

He was great! Made my first year great. He is very clear and makes everything very straight forward =) I loved all his stories.

He was so much fun. Loved his rat stories. Just a really nice guy all around. Exams were straightforward, no surprises.

Very enthusiastic about the subject. Lectures were very entertaining, funny, and helpful. Attendance not mandatory but ppl attended regardless, due to his interesting and entertaining lectures.

I loved this prof. I came everyday because he gave good lectures, not because it was necessary. Just read the text. Also he has the greatest t-shirts (he only wears them on exam days). Cute too.

Took Drugs abd Behaviour with him. The course has a lot of scientific content, but it's very intersting. He's highly intelligent and is very thorough when he answers questions. Tests are fair, only covers what he covers in class. His anecdotes are interesting and often really funny, especially the ones about rats.

Overall great guy. He provides clear notes, that are also available online if you do not attend class. Although attending class is not necessary, he is funny and provides well thought out examples, making you actually want to attend. Also, he attempts to reduce test-anxiety by waering casual clothing on test days.

An absolutely wonderful prof who tries really hard to make his lectures interesting with his stories and jokes. He gives you more than enough time to copy down the slides. Exams are based off of the textbook but a couple questions come from his lectures (which are not mandatory). Really polite and a really sweet man! Take him for intro psych!

He's a really great guy. I had him for Intro to Psych and he was charming, funny and good at Teaching. I wouldn't nessisarally call his class easy, you learn what you would in any other into to psych class but he made it interesting. Also, if you take his class you'll get to hear a lot about his mischivious kitten.

Good prof. Very nice and polite. He tries to make his lectures interesting by using his own personal stories to relate the material you're learning to real life. Would recommend him anytime as a psych prof. Read the book and the slides and you'll do well.

So funny and charasmatic! He teaches his material by references his own experiences and makes tons of jokes. I'd highly recommend him for Intro Psych, you'll love the class and his friendly humourous demeanor!

Harinder is a fantastic prof! I found the course very difficult, however, but that was no fault of his own. He does a good job of explaining concepts and teaches from the textbook. So either go to class or read the textbook. Really funny guy, so lectures are entertaining.

Don't be alarmed if his class is the first in your day, for his cheerful manner and simple, straightforward explanations are easy to follow, no matter how little sleep you got the night before. He gives students plenty of materials to study in lieu of attendance, but his helpful examples and awkward humour are something you won't want to miss.

Really funny and intelligent guy. Lectures can get a bit boring if you're not 100% interested in the class. Exams are tough and i find that he complicates things alot by using unnecessary terminology.

He teaches directly out of the textbook so you could skip the whole semester if you want to as long as you keep up the readings. If you do go to class he isn't very loud when he is teaching so make sure to sit at the front of the class.

Had him for Drugs and Behaviour, loved him and the course. One of the best psych courses I've taken at U of W. Harinder makes the subject very clear and interesting, even for students that don't have a background in bio. He is a genuinely kind and nice person with an amazing sense of humour. You will love him!

Love Aujla! Great professor, would take other classes with him for sure. Show up to class - saves you the money for the text. I probably looked at the text 3-4 times due to missing classes. Easy A, not easy material which is why he is a good prof.

He is my favourite prof so far! He's hilarious, lectures are awesome. I think it would be hard to fail, all test are multiple choice and he let's you know what will and won't be on exams. 10/10 reccommend taking his intro psyc course, I'll be sad to have it without him next term.

Psychology is the first class of my day and Harinder always knows how to make the class enjoyable. He always has good stories to give examples and they are usually hilarious. The exams are usually pretty straight forward as long as you study his notes. I would take another psych course just to have him as a prof. Overall great professor.

I had Harinder for the first half on the year and he is amazing! Gives many good examples and is engaging. Very funny and tries his best to make sure everyone understands the tough stuff. You can just read the textbook and do fine but his lectures are fun!

fave prof so far of 3 years at uni. really knew what he was talking about, anytime someone had a question he was able to answer right away with no hesitation. no bs. willing to meet after exams and go through reasoning for marks.

Easily one of the best profs I've had. Great lecturer - like watching a good psychTV series. Posts lecture notes but recommend attending class - you'll learn just by going. Clear speaker, elaborates with good examples, and fair with material that will be on exams. Easy to ask questions by email if needed. If you can take Intro Psych with him do it.

Dr. Aujla is one of the best professors that I have had in my time at the UofW. His lectures are clear and entertaining. He is very passionate about his area of research, and he makes his expectations very clear. I would 100% recommend taking a course with him whenever you have the opportunity!

Aujla is a very intelligent and clever individual who simply wants to get the job done. He's a great professor, but not the most engaging, I felt he could have made more of an effort to get the class to fill in the blanks a bit more. But, class with him is enjoyable, and straightforward. I hope to take smaller classes with him to get a second take.

Currently in my 2nd class with Harinder and he is the best prof I've had in my 3 years of uni! He clearly cares if his students are learning the material, he's hilarious, super intelligent, and does some super cool lab work. His tests are very straight forward (gives you the possible long answers in advance) and representative of material covered.

Dr. Aujla was the best! Had him for all of my Psych classes so far. Power points are good as they generally outline what you need to know, however you defs need the textbook! For every 1 concept on his slides, is like a couple paragraphs in the book you should read if u want to do well. Tests were fair. Less physiology on tests than in book.

Amazing prof! Super clear in explanations. Really cares about students. I was able to get by without the textbook, but to do so I went to every single lecture and basically wrote down everything he said. His slides alone don't cover all the material, but he goes slow enough to keep up with what he's explaining. Would 100% recommend!

Dr. Aujla is one of the most charming and charismatic professors at the UW. His lectures are captivating, funny, and entertaining. The way he writes his multiple choice tests can be tricky though. Make sure you know all the highlighted terms in the textbook before writing the tests. Would've loved to have him teach both semesters!

Prof Aujla is such a legend! His lectures are super entertaining and engaging. He goes off on funny story tangents that tie into the content and actually help you remember the material better. He always answers any question asked to the best of his ability. His tests are extremely fair and reasonably easy.

Posts notes online, but still good idea to come to class (explanations and anything missed in the notes) Grades based off exam marks (we had three in the first term). They're all multiple-choice, and not too hard, but you'll still need to study a bit. Sets up an alternative exam. Textbook is free online

Harinder's lectures were very interesting, he is very knowledgeable. His exams are fair and he always set up a make up exam incase something came up. You can tell he wants you to succeed and gives you a fair chance. You do not really need the textbook but it is helpful for a deeper understanding.

Loved his dry sense of humour! He made lectures interesting, tested us on exactly what he talked about, his slides were comprehensive, and his test policy is great (if you aren't ready, even on the day of the exam, you can tell him and take the exam ~2 wks later). Wish I could've had him the whole year instead of just for Fall!

Final mark was only determined by 3 exams which are long answer writing format but he prepares students very well with prep questions! Its clear he cares a lot about the success of his students and is very accommodating. would take again!

Dr Aujla is a wonderful lecturer; he has a dry sense of humour that is hilarious and tries to engage with the class even though it is huge (intro class.) Very kind and will explain your mistakes on exams to you in privacy. Super cool guy, would definitely take another class with him. You can tell he is very smart.

Harinder is by far my favourite professor I've had! His dry humour lightens up lectures and explains things really well. He makes sure that everyone understands the material and is available if you have questions. He is also really flexible if you can't make the exam, or even if you're not ready, and provides an alternate exam two weeks later.

The prof is really good but there are only 3 tests all mcqs that determine your grades.

THE RAT MAN!! As a first year, he has been my favourite professor by far. He makes his lectures extremely engaging despite the large classes. Grade based on 3 exams, all multiple choice and based on lectures. He gives great examples and cracks some dry-humour jokes in class. His drawings of rats are 10/10. I cannot recommend his class enough!!!

Professor Aujla is very engaging in his lectures and is always providing examples to aid in understanding the content and topics. He also is accomodating to his students because you are able to write alternate exams that will be held in two weeks! Overall, a very good prof but only critique is his lecture slides can be a bit disorganized.

The class is graded on 3 non-cumulative, multiple-choice midterms, and no final. Lectures are not mandatory, but can help. His exams are mostly easy. Read the textbook if you want an A, but you can do good by just reading his slides. He is really nice and I would take another class with him.

Super amazing prof wish that he was sticking around for the full course. Absolutely hilarious. Always had great stories to connect to the content. Best part of the class was his obsession with rats. He drew us beautiful rats and told us many stories about them. Exams were pretty easy, with alternative dates available, textbook not necessary.

Amazing prof overall. Course was not interesting to me but Dr. Aujla made it interesting. I'm not an MCQ person, so having most of the testing and exams in long-answer format helped me out. He gives clear criteria on what will be tested, so as long as you can put in the time, you should be just fine!

I had Professor Aujla for the fall portion of my introductory psychology class. I really enjoyed his class and would definitely take a class with him again. I found his lectures entertaining, engaging, and well-paced. He is very nice and he has a good exam policy where you can choose to write it later for any reason. I wish he taught both terms.

I had professor Aujla for my fall portion of the lecture and he was easily one of the best profs I've had, he gave really good examples and explanations which made learning the material so much more enjoyable and easier. He also provided alternate dates for tests if you aren't ready for the original date which was amazing.

great prof, knows his stuff and his lectures stick. To fully succeed in Psyc-1000 its better to attend each class, because sometimes content is said without it being on the PowerPoint slides which help tons for tests. 6 non accumulative tests

I've taken his class twice, both amazing! He is a great prof and teaches amazing. Goes over everything in detail. Extremely knowledgeable, lectures are content HEAVY and go fast. Exams are MC, fill in blank, + long answer questions (he gives 10 beforehand and picks 3). I didn't read textbook, but exams MUST study a lot! Do not ever skip class!!!!
