It's a hard class but his jokes make it more interesting. On days when he's in a bad mood it is difficult to want to be there. But overall he's not a bad teacher

Hard course. Fun prof! Very friendly guy. He's cool in my books. Just work hard in Accounting and you'll be fine.

Awsome teacher, participate in his class and you will do good. He marks fair, but if you show up everyday and do your reading, you will ace this no problem. He is always willing to help

Great teacher. Hard course. Dedicated teacher. He knows students by name, will personally help all students. He does try to use scare tactics about the course which doesn't help. However he makes the course as manageable as he possibly can. Highly recommendable.

Excellent teacher! He was extremely helpful and was always willing to answer any type of question! I recommend taking this course with him!

Harjinder is a good teacher. Although he does get off track sometimes in class, if you want to do well go to class. Either way accounting is a subject that requires a lot of study time. Study hard, and study EVERY thing that was touched on in class if you want to do well.

Harjinder is very passionate about his teaching, and sometimes he does get frustrated when students do not show the same enthusiasm. If you want to do well in accounting, you have to work hard. He taught us up-to-date material (IFRS) when the textbook was not available. That was a hard choice but he made it. I totally recommend Harjinder.

This guy is just passionate about accounting and you can tell! Is fair in exams and really wants you to succeed. We had a lot of people from our class attend a CMA case competition and we rocked! Harjinder motivates you to succeed. He is super helpful too if you show up at his office.

Harjinder is helpful if you ask for help. The course that he teaches is hard but if you just follow what he tells you to do(STUDY!) then you'll do fine.

I never comment on here but I feel I need to challenge some of the comments left here. Harjinder has his faults and he is not the most helpful prof but if you fail, take some responsibility. I took the same course in the same semester and got an A-. Maybe its just you:)

I had Harjinder last semester at SAIT for FN1. Amazing lectures that were the perfect pace for me. Gives enough problems to work on for self-studying. Always answers email questions and if it was something relevant (such as an incorrect textbook answer) he would forward to the entire class. Would LOVE to somehow get him for FN2.

I don't see how any serious student could possibly have any issues with Harjinder. I learned five times as much in 3101 as I did in 3100 last semseter with another professor. He knows his stuff, his proprietary lecture guides were great, and he rewards effort. He genuinely cared about the students and wanted us to succeed.

He is a good teacher, when it comes to teaching. I liked everything about the class. The only down fall is that, he really have some attitude problem. Sometimes, his humour gets on your nerves. Overall, he knows what he is teaching. He loves reading comments on rate my prof.. so Harjinder this is also for you. Motivate students with openness.

Harjinder isn't bad, but he's not great either. He's a fair marker, but he's disorganized for the class at SAIT and doesn't come prepared. He also didn't bother to make sure that his notes that he brought from Mt Royal matched up with the structure that SAIT had. Ended in some confusion for students trying to prep for class.

I found Harjinder to be highly entertaining. His examinations are slightly challenging, but a strong accounting student will succeed in his class. To obtain a designation will be much more challenging than what we experience at Mount Royal, and so I think he wants to prepare his students for that.

I have to disagree with some of the comments. I found Harjinder to be quite good. He is genuinely concerned about the students, and maybe he does not mince words in class but he's telling it the way it is. I worked hard in the Spring, and I am very happy with my B+. I am taking ACCT 4222 with Harjinder in the Fall. He is good.

Really good professor. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss any accounting class you will fall behind. Fair marker and final is hard. 35 multiple choice and all calculation :( just do assign homework and you will be fine.

Great professor. BUT ALWAYS DISCOURAGE HIS STUDENTS.he tell his student to drop accounting. Attendance is not mandatory but learn accounting u have to be in class & his negative thoughts bring everyone done. Bottom line: Avoid him. Everyone will not be DOCTOR but everyone will be successful for sure, no matter what he say.

I disagree with the earlier comments. I took this class last fall and I found Harjinder to be an amazing teacher. He's funny and has a ton of real world examples. Tries to engage non accounting students (including me) and does a great job overall.

This was my last Accounting course and I'm happy I took it with Harjinder. The course is really hard but Harjinder helped make it easier. I did not do well on the final and that hurt my grade but I wont blame him for that. He let us know what would be on the exam but some of us ended up second guessing and focused on he wrong topics.

I am glad I took the class with Harjinder. He has an MBA in Marketing and made the stuff make much more sense to me. He has a dry sense of humor that some students will not get. He is a PhD in Accounting and clearly knows what he is talking about. If I had to take any more accounting courses I would take them with Harjinder. Go Harry!

I can see why the reviews for Harjinder are extreme. If you are a serious student, he is amazing. If you are looking for an easy course, better go elsewhere. He puts in a lot of effort trying to explain concepts in different ways. He is a tough marker though and will not give marks for free. Can be a bit preachy sometimes. Recommended!

I took this class with another instructor and had to withdraw. I did much better with Dr. Doel. He really cares for students and tells them what to expect on the exams. The exams are hard but there common for all sections. He does past exam questions in class for practice. Come to class regularly and do what he says and youll be fine. I did fine.

Harjinder mentions RMP, so here goes... Harjinder, you are awesome. Keep doing what you do... your lectures are great, and you obviously care for students. I would have failed but for your help. You need to be a bit more positive in class and not get mad at those who don't work hard. Let them fail. Not everybody is going to make it but not ur fault

Harjinder is the instructor who really cares about students and has the passion to teach. I wish I could take more class with him. Highly recommended.

If you have Harjinder for Managerial, run to the bookstore and get the book... he teaches by example. Expect to read the book on your own, but make sure you come to every class. Worth it. I learned a lot from coming to class. Can look scarey but is a softy. Go ask questions in office hours. Really into Starbucks coffee. Wish he taught 2121 too.

I don't understand all the poor reviews. Harjinder is an amazing prof, he relates to the students and tries really hard to help everyone understand. You learn without really realizing it. Keep on top of the connect/LS activities for bonus grades and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. You will be fine in this class.

Dr Deol is an amazing professor. He teaches through examples and ties concepts to real life situations. He prepares the class well for tests and does past exam questions in class. I would not have done as well in the class without his help. I would love to have him again. Excellent!

One word - DEADLY! Helped me understand accounting with that mantra. Really cares about students but that means he can take poor performances personally too. I found him a little intimadating in class but he's really helpful if you meet him in his office. I'm an Accounting major and look forward to taking Harjinder's class again.

Harjinder is a great prof! Although this class is difficult he makes sure to give his students everything they need to succeed.

Dr Deol is very good. He helped us with our budget assignment and also took time to do a final exam review which helped me a lot. I wish he taught ACCT 2121 also.

Advanced Financial Accounting is a very difficult course but Harjinder makes it manageable. I liked his two midterm and final structure. Consolidations is hard. The final was a little tricky. However if you do the Connect homework it is a free 15% which goes a long way. It's a pity Harjinder does not teach Intermediate anymore.

Excellent Prof, engaging and knows what he is teaching. Course is tough. However he makes it easy by his teaching style.

Harjinder is a amazing professor. I did most of my accounting courses with him. He is helpful, approachable and like to trick his students. He really care about his students and want them to succeed.

Harjinder is a fantastic guy and is a real deal. This guy knows his stuff. Took him for accounting theory at UofL and he was great.

I took his class because the other sections were full. I am glad I did, because I learned a lot in Harjinder's class. He prepared us very well for the exams. I did not do well on the second midterm but made up for the lost marks on the Final. His review questions were very helpful.

Harjinder is hand down the best prof at MRU. He explains stuff clearly and does lots of examples in class. His review questions are very helpful. Come to class, do the work, and you will get an A!

Harjinder is nice teacher. He has pretty nice on his subject matter. The only negative thing I saw on him is, he is very tough grader. He tells the class go for the examples that we worked on class and you would be good for the exams but that is not true. He asks a lot of questions even in quiz which looks like it is final exam.

Harjinder is very entertaining in class. This is a tough course , but Harjinder explains tough concepts easily and does lots of practice questions. He is also very helpful during office hours. He hands out practice questions for the midterm and the final. I studied from these questions and got a B+.

By far the best prof I have had at MRU. You can tell Harjinder cares about his students and encourages everyone to do well. The midterm, if unprepared, may slap you in the face. However, he gives plenty of practice questions from previous midterms to help prepare. Do the work and you will be fine. Would highly recommend.

Harjinder is a great professor. I was terrified of taking management account. However, Harjinder made the class a lot easier and I was very comfortable with this course. He is really funny and witty and really cares about his students. DO all the online assignments and get easy 20% + 10% of the budgeting assignment. NO quizzes in class.

Harjinder is so so great! He has a great sense of humor! He can explain questions very vividly and clearly. He only tests what he teaches in class but of course, what he teaches in class is not easy. You can get what you deserve as long as you work hard on it. Will take any course he teaches!

Harjinder cares for this students so he will push you to do better. He will go out of the way to help but you got to ask.

Harjinder is a blessing in disguise for this capstone course. He cares about his students and is preparing them for the CPA. If you are in your fourth year and you don't want to work hard then you will not do well. The class is challenging but Harjinder is VERY fair and gives many opportunities for bonus marks.

This being a 4th level course it is meant to be difficult, I had to readjust my time commitment to this courses after the first assessment to make sure I perform well. Every lesson had multiple examples he worked through to help give deeper understandings. Was always available to meet up outside of class if needed. Encouraged asking questions & never judged anyone. Managerial is less difficult than financial, but going to class is crucial & be proactive with assignments. Final & midterm were tough, but fair

Harjinder is great. Funny, caring, and willing to help you succeed. He gives you online quizzes and assignments that are essentially free marks if you do them. You need to go to class since accounting is hard, but if you go, it will be a breeze. He makes sure to give you a break or let you leave early instead of overloading you with content too.

Harjinder really cares for his students' success. he has high expectations but he also helps students achieve better outcomes. You need to see him during office hours as asking questions in class can be challenging. He could tone down the sarcasm though.

I used to think Harjinder was the issue, then I realized I was the issue because I didn't go to class. ACCT 4381 is a hard class, and he does his best to simplify it and prepares you for CPA. He definitely has high standards, but if you go to class and try, he will acknowledge your efforts and you will do well.

Harjinder is the best prof I've had for any course at MRU. He is very helpful and blunt... You need to attend lectures and do practice at home but it's Accounting which needs that regardless but with Harjinder he has plenty of videos and is reachable at any time. I really really suggest him, third Acct class I've had him. 12/10

Honestly Harjinder was one of my favorite profs I've taken being at MRU. Taking an accounting class online isn't easy, but he made it doable because of his lectures and teaching skills. If you get the option, Id recommend Harjinder because he made accounting easy and somewhat enjoyable to attend!

Harjinder is a great teacher. He has high expectations, however, he will do everything he can to help you succeed. He is extremely organized and makes it easy to catch up on missed lectures. Great prof.

He is a great prof. Ill be honest, the class is very difficult and I struggled! Other than that, Hardjinder is always around for extra help and is very kind to his students!

Harjinder is one of the best profs at MRU. He cares a lot and makes sure to provide meaningful lectures. He does get upset when people dont attend class but he makes you want to be there. Homework is a must do to do well.

Harjinder Deol is a great professor and a great guy. He gives you so much advice for helping you with exams and relating the content to practical matters. I had him the semester we went online and he made sure to prepare us with excel for the final. The project is well guided, and in class examples and homework is relevant. 11/10

Harjinder seems tough but I found him approachable and understanding. I enjoyed learning Excel in this course.

Harjinder teaches one of the hardest classes in the accounting department, and he knows it. Harjinder knows the material like the back of his hand, real life applications and is very honest. He is very funny, but you have to work and work hard in order to do well in this class.

Harjinder is a great professor. He tries to engage the class by cracking jokes, and his attempts to make accounting less boring are always apparent through his use of real-world examples.

This class I found to be pretty tough, but I wouldn't have taken it with any other professor. Harjinder has a great personality, is very knowledgable in accounting and cares about the success of his students. I definitely recommend Harjinder and would take another class with him if I ever have to!

Harjinder is an amazing prof. He is super clear about setting his expectations for the class and how he will grade - and he does just that. Super intelligent, caring and personable. I could not recommend another professor more for this class. It is a hard class, you will have to work more than you have before - but he paves the road very well.

Harjinder is a phenomenal prof. He began teaching the course as a lecture and showed a few examples and after feedback from students, he changed the way he taught the course entirely for his students. He went through examples with us and provided his explanations and the theory that way. I started off the course rough but am going to finish strong.

He was open to feedback when I requested a more hands on experience with more practice. He consulted the class for a vote on the matter and is very respectful to students. Being so knowledgeable it can be hard for him to dumb things down. He's vague on what learning objectives to focus on and expects you to know it all. Just prepare to work hard!

Harjinder is a decent prof, who explained concepts very well. I really liked his teaching methods through excel, and how he made sure to go through things step by step to understand the concepts. He makes sure to let us know what is exactly on the midterms, and gives us very similar practice questions that are going to be on the midterms as well.

Dr. Harjinder my GOAT! Best accounting prof at MRU by far! His lecture is super enjoyable as he always try to make funny jokes! His midterm and final practices was nearly the same as it was on the test! Show up, do the work, ask questions, and you will succeed in his class! YOU MUST TAKE A CLASS WITH HARJINDER ONCE IN YOUR LIFE TIME!!!!

This course is tough no matter who you take it with. Harjinder is very methodical with his lectures and they are fairly organized. This class you can take as much printed notes as possible to the final. Do well on the quizzes so you do not have to stress for the final. Harjinder is a nice guy and he treats students with respect.

Honestly the GOAT, easily a legend one of the greatest people I have had the honour to meet in my life. How could you not like Harjinder? If you want to do well in Accounting please register under his class so that he can save your grade, because he will! Absolute legend! Everything from his teaching style to how great of a person he is is amazing.

Harjinder is an engaging professor who makes accounting enjoyable. His lectures are clear, and he provides valuable guidance for exams. While the course can be challenging, Harjinder's support and resources, including Unstuck ai, help ensure success. Attending class and doing the work are a must, but it's worth it.

Amazing prof, exactly what you should expect from a high level acct prof. Its not his fault that advanced financial is hard. Only way to survive the course is by upping your dose of Adderall and getting absolutely blasted every night to forget the dread that is the final exam. I need a brain micro chip to download this class into my brain

Yeah Intermediate 1 is hard whatever. class sucks but Harjinder is the GOAT. stimulant abuse required for final.
