Exceptionally helpful professor, extremely knowledgable and well respected in his field. This was perhaps the hardest module of any description I have undertaken over the course of several degrees but with Harjs assistance we managed to get through the module in one piece!

Dr Lallie has high expectations of students, but he is excellent at making sure all students achieve it. He is great at breaking down complex technical aspects of digital forensics into pieces that are easy to understand and memorise. He is also there for those students that are struggling, outside of class.

Dr Harjinder Lallie always gives us plenty of opportunities to practice what we have learnt through exercises and tasks. Instead of creating a module filled with traditional lectures, he makes it so that we have enough time (even during classes) to go out and use the skills we have learnt in realistic situations.

The course content presents modern cryptographic systems in great detail and provides a series of lab sessions to help us understand them.

Harj has gone to great lengths to have face-to-face classes this academic year - very commendable. It cannot be easy running a hybrid class, but he made it work for everyone. Daily labs helped learning. There were daily tests, however I didn't always feel prepared for them. There was an in module assessment that was too ambitious for time given.

I like the more practical elements but with the new tools it would be helpful to get a bit more hand holding as it is not obvious what functionality is available in Cryptool. The support from Harj was quite good but I think more time spent explaining how to complete tasks would be helpful.

I loved the structure, the exercises on Cryptool and the IMA assessments made us revise the content but also implement it on Cryptool.

Massive levels of committment clearly evident in Prof Lallie's classes. He has put in hours to set up the practical crypto tutorials. From my understanding of other cryptography courses, they are almost entirely theoretical. In Prof Lallie's classes, he uses simulation tools to show you how to build complex cryptosystems.

My background is not massively technical, but Professor Lallieade this subject engaging, but most importantly for me, helped me understand cryptology especially its applications. This is a really practical class, around 75% is lab work. If you are going to attend, be prepared to work!!
