I'm suprised no one knows about this Chem teacher. She is one of the best professors at Chabot/ Very staight forward tests, clear letures, helpful in lab. Most people praise Ms. Schumacher but Miss Sawhney is easily just as good if not better. Take her if at all possible, she will make sure you learn and do well.
very clear. tests are not that bad if you study. the teacher is super nice. i took her in the summer where classes were long and i still manage to keep my focus and most importantly i manage to get an A. shes probably one of the better chem teachers are chabot.
I was scared going into this class because she was new, but what fun i had. She's so funny. Her tests are really easy meaning they're practically straight out from the example question from the book. She is willing to help with any questions you have. Her grading of labs is a bit hard. Her teachings are very clear and enjoyable.
Great teacher. She is very straight forward. Exams are not bad. She grades a little tough on her labs. She is deffinately better than my Chem 30A teacher. She really makes the class interesting. I strongly recomend her. You will do well as long as you try.
Very clear and straightforward, always makes sure you understand something before moving on, has a sense of humor, labs were kind of hard but she grades them lightly, only takes of a fraction of a point for missed questions, I never needed the book I just used her notes from lecture and have an A, Her tests are simple and to the point.
smart allic. smarty pants but very knowledgeable. lectures are clear...on time and everytime is the key. study study don't be a fool chemistry sneaks up on you.
This was one of the easiest chem classes I've ever taken.
This is a review of high school material. Easy A. She's willing to explain things over again in class. Just take all the notes she writes on the board and study. You can get an A in the class. Totally willing to help students...is easy to get a hold of.
veeeeeeery veeeeeeery easy teacher. lectures are very clear. give some extra credit to boost up the grade. exams are based on multiple choice. very helpful teacher. whenever need help, welcome policy. it's my first chemistery class in my life. and i got "A". just study hard
hi guys, very good instructor for chemistery. midterm are multiple choice. very easy, like piece of cake. but only one or two question are nuts. i mean one or two question are little tricky. otherwise everything is fine. i just study hard and get an "A". recommend her.
Great teacher!Very Helpful&4 office hours, she is ACTUALLY there to help you, just ask!Lectures are clear&detailed and her tests are straight foward expt for a few ?'s.U do earn your grade.midterm multi choice&final cumlitave but mult choice with a few short answer problems has , lots of worksheets for xtra cr.Nice ladyTake her!!! she will help you!!
She's very funny + easy. Clear lectures + labs. Tests were also easy + straightforward. Just come to class n take note + do homewords, you can get an A.Highly recommend her for those who want to be good at chem. :)
Don't take this teacher she is really hard....IF you don't want to fail Chem then don't take her..From 23 people onely 3 that got A on her test.. rest of 20 got a D and F's and C's... pretty much everybody fail her class
Her quizze's are really hard. She never collect hw..She never give extra credit, the way she explains is really comfuse. I hated to come to her lectures they are really boring
she is very good teacher and her lecture is very clear. i took first time science class with her and i got a A. just study and you will pass easily
She is one of the best teachers that I have come across. She actually makes u want to come to class. Works with the students and is very helpful. She made chemistry fun, and not to forget shes hilarious. I recommend everyone to take her for chem 30A! ! !
she is an amazing teacher!
Do the homework and you'll do fine. Her curve is pretty good. Got an A in her class.
A nice teacher overall but is a bit unorganized and scatter brained, it seems like she has too much on her plate. Never remembers what she has assigned, but she has good intentions and she will help you if you ask her.
study her notes.the books isn't really used that often, only if u want 2 practice hw.She teaches realy wel n is always making great ex. til the u get it.i ended up w/ a B+,but thats bc i didnt study as much as i should have(I had another harder class).quizzes help ur grades alot n her tests r okay hard.i would still recommend her 2 b ur teacher!=)
greatest chem teacher by far! she is very helpful, gives good examples, good notes, weekly short quizes on chapters(keeps u from slacking off) midterms and quizes are multiple choice(some write in questions but very few)she takes roll every day & u must do all hw & labs b/c in the end it will make u or break u when it comes to ur final grade.easy tho
Hmm I can see where people would say that shes a good teacher but not for me- her way of teaching is confusing and you dont know what she expects of you. She grades assignments far to slow for my taste so before I could even know I was failing she gives me another test-
She's fun, good sense of humor. Quiz every week, along with lab. Lots of worksheets. Midterm every 5-or so weeks. Lots of studying required. Book homework is optional but recommended for studying. Extra credit occasionally.
WOw she is super awsome she is super clear about the work and has a good sense of humor, she has two midterms but its cool since its seperated into three chapters which all the info is fresh. i definetley recomend taking her chem class
she is a very helpful teacher. she makes sure you understand and she will help in any way she can. i totally recommend her!
VERY good chem teacher.. Her teaching style is very straight-forward and clear. HW is online and counts for a small part of the overall grade. Tests (in my opinion) are not hard. In high school I got a C in chem, but right now I'm able to keep a A/B thanks to Prof Sawhney!
An Amazing Professor. Abosolutely clear with her lectures. She's very helpful kind and down to earth. Her exams are easy as long as you do the chapter quizzes at the end of every chapter. Use that as your study guide and I promise you, you will pass her class with no less than a B.
Great Chemistry Professor! Helpful with a good sense of humor. Lectures are very clear and understandable. Exams/Quizzes are not difficult just take good notes and study. Gives lots of practice worksheets and HW is online. Most of the labs are fun with few being boring.
She is a great teacher! It wasn't an easy A but if you work hard you can definitely get one. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!! You will not use it ever. Everything is from the notes and worksheets. Let her know if you are not satisfied with something in her class and she will fix it. Loved chem with her even at 8:00 in the morning. TAKE HER CLASS!
Professor Sawhney is a marvelous chem teacher. At first, I was a little apprehensive about taking her class but now, I can say that I would take her 8AM summer class all over again with my wonderful classmates. She cracks jokes and uses memorable analogies. Her exams are ridiculously easy as long as you pay attention. Do the work, get an A.
She is very strict in attendance, and labs report. The test not too hard. I would say she's great teacher. You can get an "A" as long you study. Take her, she's is good!!!
I took the class this summer at 8am...she made it very clear that if you did not come to lab on time you will get docked points one thing you need to focus on is making sure your quiz grades are good if not your grade will suffer...Other than that if you show her that you care and you want to learn she is willing to help you...its a lot of math
What sucks more than taking a chemistry class at 8am during summer, right? Well thats what I thought before taking her class but omg after attending it the first day I fell in love with chemistry. She makes it clear, easy and interesting. If you hate chemistry than this is teh class to take you'll love it! Pay attention n get an "A"!
HORRIBLE!! Text book is required and so is the purchase of OWL. Online homework required and she WILL drop you if you do not complete it. Annoying and yells at the class if no one is interested or wants to respond to her lecture. Not making that mistake again
Her class is clear, must take notes! Lab takes time n she graded fair enough. She always curve the exam. Dont need to buy text book but yes on OWL, OWL is 5% of ur grade. Clear notes, keep going to class, study, an easy A will go to u! ^o^ good luck
I took her during the summer. I didn't do too well on the tests because I was too busy complaining, but her tests and the material itself is not that hard. She is really clear and has a lot of energy. I ended up raising my grade to a B but because she is helpful and clear!
Professor Sawhney is one of the best teachers I have ever encountered. Her lecture style is VERY organized, not too fast paced (which is saying alot since I took this as a summer class), and she uses lots of examples so you get to practice the concepts she is teaching while she's there to help you understand. Do OWL and the worksheets = A on tests
Although she was a great explainer in class, she was a hard grader. No extra credit offered. She marked you down for sloppy handwriting, pencils & no goggles. She has no sympathy for anyone, for any excuse. Gave me a 69.5%, didn't curve my grade & made me repeat the course. I won't ever take her again, right now I'm talking a better Chem professor.
MS SAWHNEY IS ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS I HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN COLLEGE. Her lectures are so clear and helpful. If you write down exactly what she writes down on the board, that's all you'll need to study for your exams. Be neat and organized, go to class, and you will pass this class because Ms. Sawhney will teach you everything you need to know =)
Great professor! Her lectures are fast paced but make sense. She relates chemistry examples to the kitchen and cooking. (I guess she likes to cook) Quizzes every week are pretty simple. Midterms questions are straight forward. Don't buy the book; she explains everything in class. She will help you if you're confused. Learned A LOT this sem!
If she is going to give a test and wants people to move, how about telling us instead of screaming her head off at people for no reason and being rude and mannerless? And she will keep telling people: you are moving to slow. She said it two times, does not need to say it three times. Not helpful at all. Don't take her!
She comes off as tough but she cares and wants to help. Visit her during office hrs and she'll help you understand. Tests are what the worksheets n lectures cover. She makes a difficult subject easier to grasp. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Chemistry is no joke so study the maerial again and again.
Definitely worth it to take her class over the summer. A lot of people dropped after the first day because she comes off as intimidating, but stick to it! She is a great professor and also quite funny. The exams are graded on a curve, which helps, but don't rely on it to boost your grade. It's not hard to pass as long as you put in effort.
Ms. Sawhney is a really good professor! Keep in mind it is a very difficult subject but somehow she made it seem so easy! I passed her class with an A! Her exxams are based off of lectures and wrksheets. she also curves. Def not an easy class to pass to but if u study hard its easy to get an A.
Very helpful and understanding. Didnt fail to warn us on how hard it is to take Chem on summer but also walked us through the whole thing thoroughly! One of the best teachers I had!
I have dreaded taking chem since day 1 of college, but man, did I luck-out with having Ms. Sawhney as a professor! She is so great, she makes chemistry so easy. Very thorough. Two midterms, a quiz almost every lab day, easy online homework (once a week). She takes attendance so make sure you're there. Such an awesome professor, seriously take her!!
Super kind. Doing well on labs is a must. Will work with you if you're having trouble. Attending lecture not mandatory but lab attendance is. Overall great professor. I never used the book and got an A. Easy to raise your grade quickly.
She is a wonderful professor. I was honestly SCARED of chemistry before taking her. But I have to say I lucked out with her. Very helpful and clear in her lectures. Make sure you do the online HW and come to lecture! Whatever is in lecture is on the quizzes and midterms. Also if you ace your midterms you don't have to stress for the finals!
Very great teacher! I have always been nervous about chemistry, but she makes everything very simple & clear for you to understand. She has quizzes every week, 2 midterms & a final. Never had to use the book once since her notes covered everything on the tests/quizzes. I loved being in her class & highly recommend for students that need this class!
I just finished taking a 6 week summer class with her and she is amazing! I went from getting a D in a previous semester with a different instructor to an A taking it with her. Even in the summer, it was not that hard to get an A. If you take notes in lecture and practice problems from the book and her worksheets, you should be golden!
The best chemistry professor I've met! only online hw on sapling due every week. labs are clear and fun. her lectures are very clear, neat hand writing, doesn't miss stuff that will eventually be on the test. Is very strict about her rules on the syllabus; besides that, would love to taker her again and again.
She's ok.I would not take her again. Come to class or you'll be lost. She can be VERY rude at times and picks on you in front of others.
I thought she was nice at first, oh boy was I wrong... shes really rude! she marks every little thing on your labs. She also said if you keep asking her for help she will start deducting points, Isnt she getting paid for taeching? you think she would help you and not discourage you! I wouldnt recommend her unless you want to put up with an attitude
Prof. Sawhney really wants to make sure she does her job well and teaches chemistry by interacting with students instead of simply writing out her lectures and talking at students. She makes a not-so-easy subject understandable and doesn't give much homework, although does make you purchase a mastering chemistry access code that you can do without
She teaches soley from notes so book isn't needed. Make sure u follow her strict pen only rule while writing data or you will get points deducted. Gives good study guide for every quiz and exam so come to class take your notes and you'll get it easily. She makes chemistry fun and so easy to understand!
Very nice and straight forward teacher. She tends to not sugarcoat her statements about tests or quizes, so you always know what to expect. Always willing to help students off class time. Standard lectures, which are based off primarily off of the book, which is also a great place to study from for her tests and quizes.
really good professor started out a little disorganized but midway through the class the remaining people left started to understand things more.
Amazing Professor.I would have taken her even for Chem 30B, if l had a chance to do so. Amazing lectures and interaction with students. Loving Chemistry for the first time in my life, and the credit definitely goes to her. Please take her if u really want to learn Chemistry.
Tough but fair and clear teacher. She definitely cares for her students and gave us plenty of material to study from and time. Chem is a tough subject. Put in the HOURS, dont slack and you can get an A. No book necessary. Ask questions, take good notes, STUDY DAILY. I got an A in the class, but I had to work for it. Definitely recommend her.
Professor Sawhney was a great professor. She seems boring at first, but got funnier as the semester progressed. She really does want you to succeed in the class and makes you talk to your neighbors to so you understand what she is explaining. Stay on top of the material you learn in lecture as it can get overwhelming, especially later on.
2 midterms, one final. There are 5 question quizzes every week- 10 points, and a lab report due every week. Her lectures aren't boring, but she does go a little quick so make sure you participate, and go to class. Book isn't necessary, but you do have to buy internet program, and keep track of online homework! Otherwise, if you study, you'll pass.
She definitely gives plenty of chances to bump up your grade. She's an absolute gem and made chemistry as easy as possible without practically giving away grades.
One of the best professors at Chabot. Super clear lectures and what is expected. Gives quizzes but nothing you wouldn't expect. Doesn't accept late work but I think it's a good thing since it forces you to do it on time. Honestly, the class is kinda easier than it should be but that isn't to say you can just show up and pass!!! Genuinely cares.
Sawhney is such a good chemistry teacher. Her lectures are clear and easy to follow if you pay attention. The textbook is online but I almost never used it because all the info was in my notes. She loves questions and is always willing to go over things that others dont understand.
Review for 5-week course: It can be intense because it's a condensed course(2 quizzes/week, 2 midterms, daily labs, 1 final), but the constant grind helps to keep the material fresh for the exams and time flies. Labs are fun and lectures are not boring. It's easier than it sounds(although I was close to a B). Go to class and keep up. Recommend.
I took her for a summer course which I was pretty freaked out about however, Ms. Sawhney made things pretty clear and if we had any questions, she was free outside of class to help. Also, I really liked how she made us interact with our classmates to check in about the material after she was done explaining/teaching it. Gives you quick review.
Sawhney is an AMAZING lecturer and has a very fun and relaxed personality. There was a small quiz every week so you do need to review notes and the book in order to be prepared for the quizzes which can either boost or bring down your grade. Very caring and wants her students to succeed but leaves it up to students to study in order to succeed
Hw, was a lot of work, didn't coordinate w lectures, was supposed to be 5% but only moved me up <2% for full credit, not worth it. Took months for our 1st exam which was a midterm 5-6 ch's. 2nd midterm was stalled & only on two ch's. Course outline was not clear or followed, notes were unclear. Didn't receive much help from prof. self teaching req.
Professor Sawhney is a true gem. She really cares about her students. She sacrificed her labs for worksheets and study time during labs if she noticed students were struggling. She is available outside of class and is in the stem center. If you miss even one class you will fall behind. You have to study to pass this class. No clowning around.
she care nice She knows chem but dont know how to teach In lecture just follow the book which feels ok But if you ask her question outside, no she is like talk to herself not understandable A lot mistake in exam influenced by student easily Messy labs with a lab technician never do right at the first time like to insist on something makes no sense
Her lab skill is horrible, her way of doing lab report is WRONG! if use that lab report to interview lab job, no normal lab will hire. Her exams are tricky as her worksheet and homework not helping. I dont understand her logic of giving out tons of mc will help student get good grade as any tiny error can result in lose whole credit.
Good teacher. Tests can get a little confusing. At first I didn't like her teaching style but then it grew in me. She makes you get up and help other people which makes it hard to fall asleep in her class. She tells jokes and labs are fairly fun. Go over notes before the test and you will get at least a B. Review HW/WS's for and A.
Was very nervous taking her in the summer but tbh it was the best descion ever shes is so sweet and answers all your questions , is always on zoom for help . Honestly Dr. Shawney is the best . Her exams are a little heavy but easy if you follow her study guide and workheets also be very specfic on lab and be neat .
Online CHEM 1A because of COVID. Attending class is optional, she has good videos. Didn't use the textbook once. ALL OF HER TESTS/QUIZZES ARE MULTIPLE CHOICE. Her teaching style is good, you just need to practice outside of class. Chem is hard in general, but she breaks it down. We reviewed Chem 31 stuff for the first 3 months of class. She's nice.
The professor is nice but her test is made to confuse you. If you don't pay so close attention to the questions you won't pass. Her lectures are sort and informative but she expects you to learn more from outside class(on your own).
We had 1 lab due every week and 1 quiz every week. i found her lectures very difficult to keep focus on and some of the assignments were very confusing. She is a tough grader, I got a low score on one of my labs and it was hard to redeem my grade (even with all As following) since there are not opportunities to make up for it.
Mixed bag. This class only requires attendance for quizzes and tests, with quizzes being almost every week. Requires webcams to be on during quizzes/tests and switches up the order of the multiple-choice to prevent cheating. Lectures are prerecorded which was nice on x2.0 speed. Not accessible outside of class. Be prepared for indepedent study!
Her videos are not that long and don't cover all the topics- like for each week she would have 5-8 videos and there is some content which is being missed out. Sometimes you have to teach chemistry yourself and she is only accessible during office hours and doesn't reply to emails sometimes. The class is like 70% test and others to lab and quizzes.
Your grade relies on weekly labs and tests/quizzes. She gives a quiz every week expect when we have a test. The only assignments turned in are weekly lab worksheets. She has optional worksheets for your own benefit. Her lectures are well explained and her quizzes and tests aren't impossible. She has office hours where people work together too!
you basically have to teach yourself in this class. It is not too hard if you go through all her lectures but it can get confusing at times. The only thing I didn't like is if she made a mistake on a question on the homework or quiz, it's hard to convince her to give you credit even though it was her mistake. Get a study group and you should pass.
Test days mandatory attendance, lectures are either super clear or vague, never used the textbook, all of her quizzes were based off the lectures and worksheets. Towards end of semester she checked out, would rather send you into breakout rooms to work with other students. Highly recommend getting study groups, you won't pass otherwise.
caring professor but the course was very test heavy. finding a study group to study with is very important as her midterms and final were relatively difficult. don't be afraid to ask questions as she is always ready to help!
Ok- while I really do respect all of my professors, I did not like the teaching methods of Professor Sawhney. I feel that her lectures covered very important topics far too quickly and even after asking for clarification she would repeat once and then tell me to review the material on my own time. Long story short, after midterms I withdrew.
Professor Sawheney is by far is one of the most amazing teachers I have had for science . Reading the reviews I think you need to make sure you study and do your work, everything is not just handed out without you learning. Study groups are good and making sure you do your own work counts the most.
Honesty, a pure soul. Lectures are very easy to understand given with multiple examples. She provides everything in order to succeed. She did her part and you have to do yours by studying. She would give worksheets that really prepare for quizzes/ midterm/ final. Take her, you won't regret it!!!
Very understanding and helpful but subject is difficult
Swahney does not allow make up quizzes or make up labs regardless of the situation- which is a double standard bc she was gone herself most of the beginning of the semester. She is a tough grader and wants step by step to be shown to receive full credit. Lectures/worksheets are old- she would fix them during class online if a student catches it.
She was not very helpful through out the semester she promised the class things would change but they never did. About 80-90% of the class was failing through out the entire semester. She does not give extra credit and thinks her class is above all other courses you're taking. She expects you to have no life outside of chem.
Easy class. She is probably the best chemistry teacher i ever took. This is the 1st chemistry class I'm taking in 9 years. If you don't understand anything just ask her. You have to study. The thing we learn is not even hard. She gave us 2 free quizzes, dropped 2 lowest quizzes and 2 lowest class work. She gave random bonus points often.
Prof isn't hard, the chem content is. You're not supposed have prof sawney babysit you throughout the semester as 100% of work is done by you. 80-90% dropped. That's because they're probably either 1. needs this class for there gimmicky major (art? psychology? etc.) or 2. they've no brains to comprehend the material. I boogered laugh the dropouts.
Sawhney is a nice professor, but she introduces concepts very quickly and doesn't allocate much time to reviewing the material. The topics are difficult regardless, but even then, the way she teaches can be very unorganized sometimes. We had weekly quizzes the whole semester and over half of our class was failing by the first midterm.
The Lectures/Quizzes/Exams are extremely heavy which means you can't miss a day. You need to earn your grade by studying! The professor is very flexible and available during her office hours. Seek out for help! The school offers excellent tutoring services. Overall, the instructor is kind and understanding. I highly recommend her, outstanding!
The professor is caring, she is just amazing. If you study her lectures and do the practice worksheets, you will pass the class with an A. I strongly recommended.
Prof. Sawhney is an amazing professor, thorough on lectures covering Chem. She was super understanding and worked with me when I was sick since I wasn't able to come to class, and notified her of my concerns about maintaining my grade. Overall, she is a fun and very fair teacher, definitely study hard and participate in class, might get extra cred!
She is lively. I like Dr. Sawhney's lecture videos. They are not rushed. I have taken this class with another professor and did not do well. I like the class groups to work on worksheets together. We are able to help each other. She explains the experiments clearly before we get started. This was so much better than the previous experience.
I like her because she gave us clear lecture and homework. She gave us more points if the questions were too difficult. She listened to students' challenges and helped us to overcome them. She also dropped the 2 lowest quizzes at the end of the course. If you want to pass, take her.
This was a hybrid class: lectures were prerecorded online and labs were in person. Lectures often had mistakes and I feel like she was unapproachable about clarification of content. There was no textbook but material was introduced fast. There were quizzes every week. Most of my class was failing by midterms.
She made a mistake of her lecture and when a student correct her and asked for extra credit because of it, she said no which I think is ridiculous. She doesn't help us with the lecture, she just expects us to watch all the lecture videos and gets it without her helping us. She gives quizzes every week.
She often makes mistake on her lectures. She doesn't help students with practice worksheet.
definitely hard at first but once you get the hang of her teaching style then you'll be good. quizzes every week(5 q's usually) 2 mid terms and 1 big cumulative final. if you don't watch the lectures then you'll fail. experiments are underwhelming. overall, she was a good professor and funny.
It was a struggle but you will learn. It's hard in the beginning, so really study. The grading was alright nothing to complain about. But the class honestly felt long, and it was tough. I think if she went into the theory more it would have been a bit easier.
She covers material very fast. Sometimes something that she talks about for 10 seconds during lecture is on the exam. If you ask tons of questions and pay attention to every single word she says, you'll pass. She's willing to answer all your questions after class. Worksheets are helpful. This class is hard but she cares for student's success.
I'm maybe the only one in class that did well. Honestly, my class isn't very bright as they continue to complain after Dr. Sawney generously decided to curve. I studied my butt off to get an A and I don't think its fair, for the ones that didn't study, to get curved. Class is content heavy & difficult, so there's no room to complain and be lazy.
this class is online and the labs are in class. She doesn't teach, she has you watch pre-recorded videos online and expects you to understand all the info on your own basically. I would not take this class ever and the reviews are insanely misleading...
Professor Sawhney was a tough professor and made you feel dumb for asking questions. Didn't really work with you and difficult exams
She's an amazing professor, I'm currently in Chem 1A with another professor and it doesn't suit me. I chose the current class as she wasn't available for this class, my grade is cooked lol. If she teaches another class that I have to take, I'll take it without hesitation. I took her class in 1st sem and my chemistry skills became better cuz of her.
Best professor to take for Chem1B at Chabot so far. You need to participate in lecture to get on her good side so she's more lenient on you. Expects you to know things already. Exams are entirely multiple choice. No lecture breaks. Explains well. 1 quiz every week, first two questions are multiple choice, the rest are short answers.
I recommend Professor Sawhney!! She provides helpful lecture notes and a lot of practice worksheets. This course is 50% math and 50% chemistry. If math is not your strongest subject, I recommend taking Math55/53 before this course. 2 midterms and 1 final that are multiple choice. She is very caring and helpful when you need help.
Professor Sawhney's CHEM30A class was challenging but rewarding. While lectures could be inconsistent, using unstuck AI and the free textbook helped me stay on top of the material. Overall, a tough yet worthwhile course.
She is a good professor but the way she runs her class is not the best, she has limited technology skills which leads to everything being submitted on paper. 80% of your grade is quizzes, exams, and final which could be frustrating for some people, no slides to study from only a small study guide, she gives opportunities for extra credit tho.
She is my everything!! She works with the students. I have never loved a teacher more than I love her!!! #bestteacherever😝🥰💞🩵
Professor Sawhney's teaching style is not for everybody. I see some people thrive in her class, but some people struggle in her class. Grade is test-heavy, but she curved many points and gave a lot of extra credit. Compared to other chemistry professors I've taken, she's probably one of the chillest professors.
Prof. Sawhney was nice and made sure that everyone understood the material. Keep in mind some of the things that she vaguely talks about in the lectures end being on the quizzes/ exam. I also wish she had used the projector more so everyone could see her work more clearly, but other than that, I would take her again.
Her lectures were kind of heavy at times I feel like I could've done better in class if I was studied more because she does talk about topics very shortly and then it becomes on the finals or midterms, which sucks. people decided to not drop her class although they were struggling and she gave many opportunities to pass she want you to succeed.
Prof Sawney is honestly the most understand Professor Ive encountered she wants her students to pass and helps out a lot even when they struggle, her study guides are amazing because everything is on the quiz from the study guide. Quiz every week and she allows your lowest quiz score and lab score dropped, please take her 10/10 prof.
It is almost impossible to fail her class. I Went from a 60 percent to an 80 percent in a month before the semester ended. She also jokes with students and is mildly funny.
This professor is quite lecture having, distributing packets and going over the information and problems within. Initially you're given a shot on your own then go over it as a class. Also, she was quite open to changing how much certain were worth on the overall grade. Exams can be dense but were similar to quizzes and lecture. Somewhat funny too.
First mistake is deciding to take this class during the summer and two picking this professor. This professor is nice but does not explain enough of the content and expects you to know it already. Her teaching style is not for everyone. Expect a quiz every week and also in the very first 2 days of the summer coarse.
Dr. Sawhney is the best. Very knowledgeable about the material so ASK(!!) away. She communicated the class objectives clearly everyday. The lectures are organized so that only the things she talked about were on the quizzes and exams. Supplementary practice was provided. The summer course was fast but she was flexible and lessened the exam topics.
I recommend her! She's such a sweet and down to earth person. She definitely wants her students to succeed. I was kinda scared to take her because the reviews were mixed but she was great. She was encouraging and made Chemistry slightly easier by dropping lowest quiz, lowest lab, and curves points. Take her!
Professor Sawhney is caring and fair. Her class moves fast, especially in summer, and she doesn't always explain things clearly in lecture. But if you ask for help and show her your dedication, she's great one-on-one and will work with you. Take this course only if you can fully focus—it's intense but rewarding and doable with effort.
There are many mixed reviews on Professor Sawhney. I also had mixed feelings about her at the beginning of the class. In the end, I highly recommend to take this professor. If you show her you're dedicated to learn she will help you as much as you can. I took her during the summer semester while it was tough it was very rewarding at the end.
She is rude and frequently calls people out in front of the entire class. Taking this class made me feel very dumb. Additionally, her study guides are unhelpful, and she refuses to offer assistance. There's no point in attending office hours since she simply sits in her office and does not explain things effectively.
She explains like she is trying to study with herself and she gets quizzes each Wednesday on paper that makes it harder to pass class, she is tough in grading, I would never get class with her again.
She's more chill than first impressions give off. She likes class participation to gauge where the class is at, and students to help each other. Your grade comes from weekly quizzes, labs, and exams. She always answered any questions I had. Tyler DeWitt on Youtube will save you if you can't keep up with her lecture speed.
