pure badass...funny too
Great teacher! Makes class fun, which is hard to do since it was history. Very funny. His tests can be hard, but he offers extra credit for being in class occassionally. I only made one A out of 4 tests and i still made an A in the class. Take him if you can!
The best history prof at blinn!! He is so funny and is really a nice guy! I took him for 1301 amd 1302! Take him if you can!!
Tests come from his lectures. He gives a few quizes from reading but reading is easy. If you go to class and take notes you will pass!
pretty goofy, but he keeps you interest in class. All major exams off notes, if you go to class and take notes you should do well
TAKE HIM! he is really funny. keeps class interesting. tests are easy but you need to study only the notes. gives quizes from book and they are hard. EASY B. must attend class. He hates it, if you leave early. LOVES to talk about football. He hates the Clintons. Great GUY!
I love him!!! I think he's hilarious! He'll have you're attention the whole time! Great professor :)
Hilarious. He has a very blunt sense of humor and it's awesome. Not hard to stay focused at all. Tests are all off notes so TAKE GOOD ONES. Test difficulty is moderate, though I usually scored fairly high. He's a really great professor. Passionate about the subject. I highly recommend him!
great teacher. really funny. his tests are straight from the notes, so take good ones. and his quizzes are straight from the book, which is the only pain in the class. do the extra credit and it'll be an easy A.
He is a really good teacher. i think the tests were pretty hard. but i deff. recomend.
He is a really good teacher. i think the tests were pretty hard. but i deff. recommend him!
Without a doubt the best teacher I've ever had! Test are straight from your notes, if you write word for word and reread your notes almost guarenteed 100. His quizes are straight from the book, pretty easy for the most part. Hilarious during lecture, FUN CLASS!
Tests come straight from notes. Write down everything he says, and then study that. Quizzes are from the book. Don't waste your time trying to study for the quizzes. They are not worth that much. He is really funny. Some of the crazy stuff he says is on the test as extra credit. So if he is talking something silly write it down.
Apart from being rather opinionated, I think Haussman was a good teacher. He DID make the lectures pretty interested and if you take good notes, listen well in class and do the extra credit, you will get an A. He's kind of funny and tells crazy off-topic stories.
Awesome teacher!!! Very funny!!! Overall great teacher. Very easy to listen to and his tests are straight from his lectures so dont bother reading the book when it comes to the exams. All quizzes are straight from the book and none of it from the lecture. Lots of EC opportunities. Take advantage of them and you will get an A.
he is prob the best teacher i have ever had. i have him for hist1302 in at 745 in the morn. i thought it would be a mistake, being so early.... but he is so entertaining that i always stay awake... he talks about everything in his stories from killing poodles to smoking weed in mexico.... he keeps things fresh. best part- his story-is from the book
Best proff. ive ever had. This class is so easy. I actually look forward to my 8 am class.just right down what ever he says and youll be fine.
Very knowledgable and interesting to listen too. Gives lots of extra credit. Listen to lecture and you will do fine. He Sometimes teaches out of chronological order and gets you confused of order of historical events.
Definitely the best prof i've had at Blinn so far. Very knowledgeable on the subjest at hand and conveys his point clearly with a delightful touch of humor infused. I actually looked forward to this class and what 'historical funnies' he had in store for the day. Highly recommend everyone take him.
Loved him easy class If you attend
Everyone says he is cool, funny, and easy but they are exaggerating. His jokes are rarely funny,he carries on about things that arent on the tests, then he tends to put the most random stuff on the test. So you have to write everything down and study everything bc you never know what will be on it.C student trying to get A's dont take him
I love him! he is the best teacher ive had so far. easy to talk to if you come to his office. He is more than happy to help you and with your grade (as long as you TALK to him and show your working hard).his test not that easy but not that hard as long as you come and take good notes. the quizes r horrible! but that doesnt count much.A if you study
I HATEEDDDD HIS CLASS! DO NOT TAKE IT IF YOU SUCK AT HISTORY!
NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS DURING A MINIMESTER!!! That is my only warning...he will talk the ENTIRE 3 hours with only one 10 minute break. He doesn't give out lecture packets or do powerpoints so you are totally on your own when it comes to notes. His jokes are also not very funny, a lot of dry humor. He is a really nice guy otherwise, though.
JUMPS FRO ONE SUBJECT TO ANOTHER
I had never studied american history before, and I had no interest on it whatsoever; yet I learned a lot in his class and even though everything was new, with proper note taking skills I managed to pull an A on it. Now I am looking forward for 1302 with him again, hopefully it will be just as fun. P.S I am foreign and his english can be complicated
I took 1301 in the Summer and got an A. He is a funny guy who looks like his name "Harley". He does skip around, but brings it all back together at some point. He is helpful, easy going and willing to answer all questions. Good times.
He is a very easy teacher if you know how to take good notes and pay attention. His tests are pretty easy and he gives a lot of extra credit.
Seriously the easiest class ever, his lectures are easy to keep up with and he is funny too. Easiest history class I have ever taken!
History is my favorite subject, so to be honest I wasn't impressed. He fluffs up and exaggerates on material which is unneeded and then gets those extra facts wrong. He has very dry humor and uses it on the test... Overall it's an easy class, just take notes. He seems like a really nice guy, I just didn't care for the class as a whole.
Haussman is a great professor. Take notes and take advantage of the bonus points offered. He is extremely interesting and an overall good guy.
best teacher ever! he likes to make fun of Fred and Ethel, easy class, interesting lectures. Will make you want to come and attend his class even if it's super early. definitely recommended!
Best. Professor. Ever. If you dont learn anything, it's your fault. If you dont make an A in his class, it's your fault.
TAKE HIM. EASY A if you show up to class and take notes. study your notes and you'll do just fine.
BEST teacher I have had at Blinn. He is very funny and keeps the lectures interesting. Just take notes and study them and you will get an A.
His stories keep class interesting and theres tons of extra credit. I took him over the summer and he gave us free points instead of having to take two of the quizzes! TAKE HIM!
He is awesome! Keeps class entertaining with jokes and he puts himself in the stories. He is an excellent teacher and gives really good lectures. Study your notes and you will be fine!
The class is not a cake walk. Strictly lecture class... Quizzes from readings and are hard... But he is an awesome professor and if you do what is expected of you, you'll do fine.
He is a very good professor. He knows what he's talking about but is STRICTLY lecture. His essays are cake, 300 words double spaced no big deal. His quizzes are a little tough but as long as you read and understand the 40 paged chapter you'll be fine. NOTE TAKING = A! take good notes! He makes class very interesting!
Very good professor! He makes the lectures very interesting and easy to follow. If you take good notes, and actually pay attention you will make an A in this calss. His test go almost exactly in order as your notes. The quizes you take are straight from book and are the most difficult thing in class. Also has one extra credit essay per test. (EASY)
Good professor. Keeps lectures interesting. Test are over notes and quizzes are strictly over TEXTBOOK. Gives a review for final study the review and you will do fine!
Tests are over lecture so make sure you take notes, and he doesn't grill you on dates which is nice. I Wish he gave a review for the exams, but he does for the final. He's a pretty funny guy and teaches history by telling stories not just throwing facts in your face. I would recommend his class.
best prof at blinn if you are mentally competent to take notes. He is funny and makes the class interesting, class is strictly based off lecture so if you show up and just take down some notes you will be Gucci. I took him through a winter mini mester sitting with him 4 hours so trust me, he makes it funny for a reason, take him if you can
I am not one bit interested in history, but Haussman changed that. He tells stories that help you stay focused and interested through out the lecture. I took it in a minimester, so that's probably why I didn't make an A. He is ALL lecture so take your laptop to type up the notes and study ALL of it. He gives you extra credit opportunity as well.
As a history major and wanting to pursue a career as a History professor I would HIGHLY recommend Haussman. He explains everything in detail, he's down to earth and funny. Very cool guy and one of my favorite professors. TAKE HIM!
His classes are super fun, but his test are a little hard I made B's and one A. the quizzes are impossible to pass. cool teacher though. anyone should be able to make an A
Great professor. I took him in the summer for my first class i've ever took in my life and made an A in 1301 and a B in 1302. TAKE NOTES. He tells a story and you write it down. You story your notes and you pass the test. I think you could get by without the book..I didn't read it much
He is by far the best professor I've ever had. If you take good notes in class and simply read over them you'll do great in the class. The quizzes are slightly harder, but nothing that is impossible to pass. He is hilarious and I would definitely take him again in a heartbeat if I had the chance.
Take good notes and make an A. Great professor, simple and clear.
He is super laid back and down to earth. lets my class out 10 minutes early most of the time. easy work load, tests are easy, but quizzes are tough. his lectures are awesome, he makes history interesting. if history isn't your favorite subject, take him. best teacher ive ever had, very easy to make an A in his class if you just take notes.
Probably my favorite professor at Blinn. He knows his stuff and is a great teacher. Although his lectures are long, he makes them very interesting. His tests are over just the lectures, so if you show up and take notes you will do well. The quizzes are hard but I wouldn't worry about those too much. I expect to make an A
Show up for lectures and you're aces.
Definitely a cool guy! He is super hilarious in class which really helped keep my attention because it does get boring in some spots. His tests are strictly lecture based so take REALLY good notes and remember them. The quizzes are almost impossible to pass, but they don't count alot towards your grade. Overall I would recommend him to anyone!!
Tests are based on lectures. Attendance is necessary for receiving a good grade. Take good notes and look over them before each test and you will do well. Three minor quizzes based on chapters in the book. The quizzes are extremely hard, but aren't worth too much of your overall grade. Extra credit offered.
Just finished this class over the winter mini mester and I loved it, would take again.
Haussman is a superb prof and I would definitely take him again. Make sure you go to class and take good notes and you will make an A. His lectures are interesting and very entertaining as he has a great sense of humor. He is very approachable if you need something. Definitely worth taking.
Prof Haussman was good and his class is not very hard, however his lectures are very boring, especially for morning class. There were guys, literally falling asleep during the lecture. Grading system is clear and easy. Exams are based on lectures, and couple of quizzes are based on the books. You should attend the lectures and then you will do fine
I really enjoyed his lectures. Not as boring as people might make him out to be. I'm definitely taking him again. If you show up to class, take good notes, and do the small amount of required readings, you will get an easy A. Exams are lecture based.
quizzes are impossible to pass, he does NOT post grades or notes of any sort let alone email you back about anything. This professor has no study materials to help you outside of the lectures. He comes in with either a good mood or a very bad mood. Hot headed.
Barely cracked the textbook. Tests are 100% from lecture notes, so don't skip class and take good notes. History has always been my least favorite subject, but he makes it interesting. He focuses more on the people and events than exact dates.
I really enjoyed Mr. Haussman, i have taken him twice and loved every minute of it. He loves history and he makes you love it also. He is a great professor and cares about your grade, so if you are struggling, then just talk to him and he will help you the best he can. His entire class is a lecture, but extremely interesting to learn about.
Test specifically over material covered in lecture. If you write down what he says in class (even the jokes) and study your notes, an "A" is easily obtainable. Test are long, multiple choice matching and fill in the blank. So a working knowledge of the material is important.
Great professor. Funny but GO TO CLASS! Essential!
Haussman was the best Prof I've had yet! Attendance is a must, not because he'll drop you for missing but each exam (and final) is based "entirely" on class lecture, not book. He made having an 8am class something to look forward to!
Long, narrative lectures, but he attempts to make them more interesting by making jokes. He is sometimes cheesy however he kept me interesting. Tests are easy if you show up to class. Gives essays and grades easily.
Very easy class. There is no homework whatsoever... Tests are based SOLELY on lecture. He doesn't use power points or any kind of online slides or paper handouts, so going to class and taking good notes is necessary. But he's very funny and opinionated, which made class entertaining. I highly recommend him!
My favorite class I have ever taken. As long as you go to class and take notes (even his jokes) you will make at least a B. 3 quizzes which are pretty hard, but test are easy so just do good on those. Also have 3 essays, but he grades very easy on those. I am taking him for 1302.
Professor Haussman makes having an 8AM AWESOME! His class is not easy by any means, but he is a wonderful teacher. His jokes are hilarious!! It is essential to not miss any classes. The quizzes are hard, but the tests aren't if you take good notes on his lectures. He made me really like history. I will be taking him again if it fits my schedule.
Proffesor Hausmann is great. Really made class interesting, make sure you show up to class everyday, lectures are daily and important so make sure you take good notes. Also, take advantage of the extra credit he gives, i didn't do it and passed with a B+ but if i did i would of passed with an A. Overall, easy class just show up and take good notes.
Haussman rocks. He tells history like a story and makes it really interesting. He's funny and you can tell he loves what he does. All tests are over lectures so TAKE NOTES. It's your only resource because they have nothing to do with the textbook. You don't have to memorize dates, just know the information from lecture. Use book only for quizes.
Took this class in the wintermester and it was so easy. He is strictly a lecture class, but he tells everything in a story and makes things very interesting. He is a pretty funny guy so it makes things a little better. No homework!! There are three tests, a final, a paper that is completely your opinion, and an extra credit opportunity.
Professor Hausmann is so cool. His class is all lecture but he has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed going to class because of how he would present information. He's very helpful and will answer any questions you have. He has a wealth of knowledge. Made fun of Hillary Clinton and poodles on a daily basis. HIGHLY recommended.
It is important you attend class we take notes everyday. He's really funny. For someone to keep me awake and laughing at 7 am in the morning is pretty good. He makes the course fun. His test are about the notes you take so you better take good notes. He gives extra credit and about 4 homework assignments. He makes it easy and educational!
This was my best professor the entire semester. His lectures were super interesting and easy to take notes on. Expect to write some papers, but they're easy so don't worry about them. His tests aren't hard if you take notes and study a little, plus he gives a lot of extra credit.
Great teacher! I would taken again in a heartbeat. Very nice guy! Easy A as long as you show up and take notes. Do the extra credit essay, it is worth a lot of points! Does not post grades on eCampus, but you just have to email him to find out your grade. Nice man and he kinda looks like Mr. Bean/Johnny English!
He is a very good Professor. If you don't go to his class you won't pass his tests. He is a very old style type of professor. He doesn't have anything online, the only thing he will probably use a computer for is, maybe to check his email. He works on a point system and not an Average, but don't get too confident. Books are for quizzes and essays.
I enjoyed taking this class. All tests are from the lectures but as long as you write down what he says, you'll be just fine. The only difficult part of this class were the two quizzes we had over the book. Make sure you don't talk to other students during class and stay off your phone. Just pay attention and you'll do fine.
He is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met! He really knows his stuff, and he has a gift for teacher--truly! He is super funny, and you MUST attend class to pass. All of his exams etc. are over his lecture. Easy A if you come to class and listen! He makes class enjoyable and entertaining!
I loved Haussman. He is very funny makes lectures not boring. I took him for 1301 and 1302 and would take him again if I could. The main thing is take notes, take notes, and take notes. Thats how to get a good grade in his class along with doing the reading
Haussman is a good person and professor. This class was not as easy as I expected. He doesn't give any reviews for exams and you have to write down your own notes based on what he says and writes on the board. The exams were really specific and not very easy. The xt credit helps a lot.
Professor Haussman has a way of making history interesting! He tells you on DAY 1 that you do not need to buy the book for this class. He gives lectures and I advise you to take good notes. His tests are mostly multiple choice but you will need to study if you want to pass. I used the 3x5 card memory technique and got an A. extra credit offered.
Professor Haussman is a great guy. He's passionate about history and loves his job, which makes class enjoyable. I looked forward to his class everyday and he cracks jokes A LOT. I actually recorded some of the jokes and go back to listen to them sometimes for a good laugh. I still visit him often. Outstanding professor.
He is an amazing lecturer and keeps you interested!! Not much work was done other than a few short essays, and the tests are pretty easy. They go over exactly what we went over, just make sure to pay attention!
Haussman is SO great, he's super funny and makes history so interesting. It's pure lecture, he doesn't post anything online but his lectures are more like stories. Keeps you interested at 8am. Literally the only teacher that can keep you awake and attentive so early. I'm taking him again for 1302!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HARLEY!
He will mention that he is Jewish at least 100 times but he is a very easy prof and is an easy A. No textbook needed, all of his exams are lecture based
Mr. Haussman is a Great Prof! Make sure to listen to every lecture and take good notes. There is 3-4 Exams that are based on the lecture notes. 2 Essays, one required and the other extra credit. 2 Textbooks, one is for just the extra credit essay and the other is for the 3 Quizzes that you will have over chapters that he selects. You Will enjoy!!!!
This is the hardest and least understanding teacher I have had. He doesn't explain lectures well and grades hard. I am an A/B student and am failing his class. His class is only vocal lecture (no board use), note taking from what he says, and tests on that only. If you don't do well with that, don't take his class!!!
Mr. Haussman is one of the most interesting professors I've ever met. I enjoyed his class even though I have to put a lot of effort on it. His tests are not easy and very detailed. Four major tests consist of matching, filling the blanks and multiple choice. You just have to study the notes and be prepared.
Ahh I cried when I left his class today, because it was gonna be the last class I was gonna have with him. Amazing professor! I had him for two semesters 1301 and 1302, and they were the best History classes I have ever taken. My favorite quote from him-- "double chicken winged them". I love Mr. Haussman! He's hilarious and a great professor!
I loved Prof Haussman!I've never been good at History. His lectures are all talk, you NEED to write down everything he says & study it. Sometimes he's hard to hear. Tests have fill in the blanks but you'll be fine if you study enough. Extra credit helps tremendously! Literally had a 100 in the class before the final. Book is used ONLY for quizzes.
Professor Hausman is fantastic, He is hilarious. I would take him again if I could! Study hard for the test because they are fill in the blank and they are long. Tests are completely based off lectures, so take notes accordingly.
Haussman is definitely a real gem. He is a quality Jew.
If you are not able to take notes as he speaks then this class is not for you.
Haussman isn't a terrible professor. I just think his style is not for me. His lecture style: He speaks, you take notes. He doesn't do slides or exam reviews. I got a B in 1301 and have a D right now in the class. You take quizzes from the textbook. I study a lot and yet still struggle. Tests are fill in the blank, multiple choice, and matching.
Mr. Haussman is a fantastic teacher!!!, here's what you need to know about his class, there are three quizzes that are from the textbook, three major exams and a final that are both lecture based, an essay and extra credit. in his lectures he uses storytelling , which is very helpful during exams, cause it just makes things easy to remember .
i love'd this class. Mr Haussman is such a great teacher. if you can't write while he talks then this class is not for you because you need to write down everything that comes out from his mouth there are no slides. i'm not even american and he made me enjoy and understand history. TAKE HIM for your sake!! :) :)
Fantastic Professor who is obviously passionate about history! Is more interested in sharing a story with you than he is with grades, which makes him very inspirational. His lectures are funny! That being said, tests are based 100% on in class notes so show up and write down as much as you can. Textbook used for 3 quizzes (Rent it!) One essay.
Prof Haussman was a unique professor. From the first day of class he tells you exactly what he wants from you over the whole semester! The one paper he gives you is completion (however if yours doesn't make sense, he'll obviously catch it). So is the extra credit. His lectures are dry, but not a lot of studying is required for his tests. Goodluck!
Professor Haussman has been my absolute favorite professor at Blinn. I took him for 1301 and 1302. He tells you from day one that he cares about his students passing. He got me laughing out loud at 7:00 in the morning! I loved him compared to other history teachers, because he tells the lectures as if they were a story. He is a genuinely kind soul
Awsome chiil and funny dude
Very good
Awesome way to start off your days when you have his class. He is very funny and a great person to go to if you need help.
He really cares about his students passing. Gives lectures like he's telling a story so, for me, it was very effective. He's funny but beware of his anti-Hillary comments LOL
Probably the best professor I ever had! I used to hate history so much but he really helped me enjoy it a lot. Even tho it is a lecture based class, it isn't hard to keep up at all because everything he says is in story form and he makes it super entertaining and very very funny and helpful through out! 10 outta 10 recommend!!
Putting funny dude, I liked him. All note/lecture based. Gives options for extra credit. Would absolutely take again
Great prof! Does not use slides so easy to space out but he told lectures like stories. Pretty simple class. Take lots of notes during lecture and you should be fine!
Prof. Hausmann has taught history for years! Grades are from quizzes, exams, an essay and the final, he doesn't give homework. Quizzes are from the textbook, but they don't contribute to the grade as much. Exams are entirely from his lectures. He teaches them as if he's telling us a story. Come to class and take notes, you'll do great. :)
Tests are strictly lecture based. Take LOTS of notes during his lectures and you'll be solid. Always gives a minimum of 5 extra credit points on each test. I studied the night before for the last two tests and received high A's on both. He's a pretty funny dude who made a 7:45 AM class bearable, so that says a lot. Such an easy A!!
His lectures were so fun! He really cares about what he talks about. There are 3 quizzes and you have to read the book for those!!! The tests are all over what you talk about in class so you need to show up. Easy grader. TAKE HIM!!!
Best professor I'll ever have. Super funny and made history fun to learn, his lectures are story telling and helps you understand it. 3 Test all lecture, 3 quiz from the book and an easy A. TAKE HIM!!
Professor Hausmann's class was my favorite class that I took this semester. All of the tests are over lecture so make sure to take good notes, don't be afraid to ask him questions or to have him repeat things! Get the textbook because you'll need it for the quizzes. He is a very down to earth man and is super understanding! Id def take him again
Over all professor Haussman's class is easy but the only piece of paper you get is the syllabus and the final review sheet. he doesn't post anything online now does PowerPoints or any kind of review for the test minus the final review but even that shouldn't count as a true review sheet. Nice man and has a great since of humor. get ready for notes!
Prof. Haussman is one of the best professors I had at Blinn and A&M. He makes his lectures very interesting, and his stories seem like tales which you want to continue listening to. Make sure to take good notes, as all exams are straight from the notes. No book was needed during my class. He gives extra credit during each exam. Great instructor!
Loved this class! 3 exams, 3 quizzes, 1 paper, final and extra credit essay. Don't buy the book. The 3 quizzes are each over a chapter out of the book, get copies from the library. Quiz material is not on the final. All exams are from lectures. If you show up and review your notes you will have no problem getting an A. Super nice guy!
take a dif. history prof. . Exams are 80+ questions in 45 min.. very detail oriented. Lectures are everyday, he's funny at times but I feel he goes off on tangents that are never on exam. Also there r things on exams he never mentions. quizzes from long textbook chapters. he makes a history class way harder than it needs to b, many people Q'd it.
dont take the quizzes lightly they effect your grade more than you think. grades essays very easily which helps your grade a lot
Haussmann was an awesome lecturer. He is really funny and hates Hillary (he is funny about it). Tests are all based on lecture but if you go to class and take decent notes then an A is relatively easy. Also 3 quizzes from the textbook, 1 essay, and an extra credit essay (DO IT). I enjoyed every minute of his class, it made history fun.
LOVE Haussmann. By far he is the best professor Ive ever had. He tells history like its a story and he was there. He makes learning the material easy and the class is so enjoyable and funny. His test are strictly lecture bases so if you take notes youll get an A. I cant recommend him enough
Haussman is one of the best professors I have had! He is incredibly understanding and will work with you if you get sick (this man offered to take me to a doctor because I didn't look well). His lectures are so interesting a funny, though he does make political jokes so be prepared. All in all he is a wonderful man and his grading system is fair.
I took him at the OL Luther campus and he was my favorite professor in 1998 and I would still take his class
Super cool dude! Tells the lectures like a story! Only thing is taht the quizzes are over a separate book, and majority of the quiz questions do not always line up with the book.
Haussman is Fantastic! I took him for both Hist. 1301 & 1302, and I loved him! His tests are straight off your notes. I highly recommend him!
I like him as a person, but the tests are very difficult, 100+ questions in 50 min, the quizzes are over very long chapters. The tests are also strictly over his lecture so if you dont write down everything he says you wont do as well.
Prof. Haussman is probably one of my favorite history profs i've ever had. His tests are solely from the lectures so you have to be there to take the notes. He tells stories about the different figures and makes jokes throughout the lecture about them that really helped me memorize the info. For most exams i only studied an hour and made high 90's.
One of my favorite profs I've ever had. I'm not a history person but he made it so interesting. Test are based entirely off lectures, but they are incredibly simple and word for word out of the notes. He gives extra credit on every test. All you're graded on is 3 tests, 3 quizzes, an essay and the final. It would be a mistake not to take him!
Amazing Professor. All test questions comes from lectures, so you must show up to class to pass. However, he makes the lectures interesting and explains everything in way it is easy to understand.
Great Professor, makes history interesting, not boring. Will make you laugh so you can remember the point he is trying to make. Tests are from lectures so must attend class.
He is one of my favorite professors! His lectures are good and he makes them interesting by joking often. He gives extra credit opportunities. He doesn't give a lot of homework, your grade is based of tests. Highly recommended!!
Okay, I love this professor so much! I would literally let him be my mentor in life. He is absolutely hilarious. To make a good grade in his class, you must show up, but trust me it is worth your time! YOU NEED TO TAKE HIS CLASSES!
This professor is the best one I've ever had. His lectures keep you interested and he's hilarious! He doesn't use power points or anything so write down everything he says. The only reason I didn't get an A was because I fell very ill and missed out on 4 lectures, but he was incredibly understanding about it. I highly encourage taking him!
Professor Haussman is a great professor, the only thing I do recommend is get your load of caffeine before class because although he says very interesting things in class, his tone of voice can be quite monotonous and can put you to sleep.
Prof. Haussman s a great professor. I took Hist 1301 and 1302 with him over the summer. His lectures are funny and interesting. He is by far one of my favorite proffessors. He's understanding and reasonable with extra credit, tests and abesntences. We dont use the book and and the tests are souley based off of lectures. Take him!!
I knew someone who had Haussman before and told me that it would be an easy A because the tests were easy. I'm not sure if something changed this year or if I am dumb but this wasn't an easy class for me. Studied very far in advance for every test and always had a hard time. What saved my grade was the extra credit. Great prof but difficult class
Write down everything he says in class because that will be on the test. Most of what you learn in class is not like what is on the test. He does not do a good job at explaining anything. If you skip the class you will not pass. Do the extra credit it brought my grade up 13 points. He gives a hundred on both the extra credit and the paper.
Quizzes are hard but don't count for much. His lectures are funny and he keeps you engaged and interested the whole class period. If you write most everything down that he says and you study it like a story then you will make an A. He is an amazing professor.
Cool dude with a twisted sence of humor. but his teaching type just didnt suit me. No powerpoints, no homework or reviews to study, and quizes are over materials he doesn't teach you, but you have to learn yourself from the book. If youre not an auditory learner, do not take.
Professor Haussman is by far one of the most entertaining history teachers I have ever had! He makes his lectures engaging and is HILARIOUS! His quizzes and tests can be difficult and you must study for them! Overall a funny guy who you can tell loves to tell others about history!
I don't have the time or enough character space to explain why I dislike him, because there are multiple reasons. To give it short, he was rude to me multiple times. The class is purely just him talking forever, no visuals, and hard to pay attention, then his tests and quizzes ask about small details you could easily miss. I wish i could rant more
You have to take notes in his class or else you will not know what else to study. The tests are only over his lectures so write everything down! There are only three quizzes and they are very hard and from the book. As long as you do extra credit you should be fine. If you are good note taker and like history, take his class!
You will not pass if you don't show up. Lecture is just him talking. Your grade is based on 4 tests, 4 quizzes over entire chapters at a time that you must read to do ok on, and a 1000 word essay (grades it very easy). He has 1 extra credit but if you truly try, take very good notes, and talk to him he will work with you on your grade. Super nice!
his exams were 100% based off lecture. he is very opinionated and sometimes I don't know if he's making things up or just teaching. his lectures feel like hes telling stories which do keep me awake so that's good. you need to take notes and actually review them well to do good on the exams if you do that then your set I just didn't have the time.
professor Haussman is a great teacher, i already take with him history I and now history II ,he cares about you, he give you 3 exams and a test review one week before exam, with 50 questions each test, so be ready to study, but if you do the quizzes, and at least you make the effort to try to pass the test, then you be fine and he will pass you .
Mr. Haussman is my favorite professor Ive ever had. He is captivating with his lecture which you need to go to in order to pass. All his test are easy as long as you listen and they are easy to study for. He only has 3 quizzes from the book and you can read the chapters for free in the library. He has a lot of odd opinions which may be on the test
The best!!!!!! Tests are based off the lectures but super easy. He is also so funny!
The best! Taking him again for 1302 because of how easy the class was. 10 pop quizzes, 4 exams, and one essay that he grades super easy!
He is amazing!! Just show that you are putting an effort in the class. The pop quizzes are easy so is the essay. Just make sure you do all the work asked by him. Also, the exams were hard for me but thats because I put less effort for studying. His lectures are very in testing unlike the boring HIST class. Do all the work and get an A!!
Prof Haussman was a nice guy. He takes forever to respond to emails but other than that everything is easy except for the exams! Pop quizzes are based off of what he says in the lecture and you have to attend class in order to be successful on the quiz. Extra credit is super easy and the major essay was graded so easy. Not a bad choice
The best history professor I have ever had, hands down.
This is my second section with this professor and I had to rate him again because of how great he is. One of the best! Take him!!!
Prof. Haussman is a legend tier prof. He makes history extremely entertaining, and when you're waking up at 7:30am for every class, he's a breath of fresh air from the usual lecture. His test are based on his lectures and the outlines, but mainly his lectures. Make sure to watch his lectures, he doesn't make it a chore, this guy was great.
Haussman is a great professor. Reach out to him and he will help you! His lectures are always interesting and easy to understand. There's no homework except for a 1000 word essay, and the pop quizzes are relatively easy.
A great teacher makes the class fun! Grades are solely based on the exams and pop quizzes. He only gives one extra credit assignment and there's an essay due at the end of the semester. Attendance is mandatory but overall the class is pretty easy. PS: He doesn't give study guides or reviews for the exams so make sure you study his lectures!
ONLINE Details abt my class: lecture every class, pop quiz at the end of class most days (very easy and boost grade), don't need textbook, posts all notes, posts lecture videos, tests use honorlock and are mult choice (study notes!), 4 tests including final, extra credit essay adds 25 points to OVERALL grade, very funny and a GREAT teacher!
Professor Haussman is what every teacher should be. His lectures are very detailed and adequately cover the content of the exams. He is a very comedic lecturer and has some very impressive one-liners (if youre paying attention) that help to make the long classes entertaining. I truly enjoyed my time as a student in Professor Haussmans class.
He was a very good professor whe had 4 tests including the final and 1 1,00 word essay and another extra credit 200 word essay the tests are in honor lock.
Prof Haussman was great. I had him for an 8-week course. His lectures are long, but they honestly go by quickly if you listen, he's really funny. I would take him again if he taught another history here. He's extremely passionate about History. His class is made up of 4 tests, 10 pop quizzes and 1 major essay. Do extra credit!
Good guy with a great sense of humor. Just make sure not to miss class, because he has pop quizzes that cannot be made up for any reason. should be an easy A' IF you watch his online lectures.
Tests are tough, but if you do extra credit it helps. Daily quizzes are easy.
Super funny and interesting lectures. He makes waking up early worth it. He offers extra credit, so do that because his tests can be tricky and are not super easy. Very passionate and keeps class interesting. He has pop quizzes almost every class but they are practically there to help you (so easy). Very funny man. Take him!!
He is AWESOME! Makes his lectures very entertaining by cracking funny jokes about History! Extra Credit is was super helpful, so be sure to do that. His tests can be tricky, however, but otherwise, everything was super easy. Highly recommend!!!
The tests where extremely difficult for me, but I am not the best at history. They were over very specific things I would often forget. But extra credit is so easy DO IT. The pop quizzes are there to help you, but you have to be in class to take them so go! and the paper is not difficult and pretty easy to write and get a good grade
Nice enough person, but does not care if you are offended by anything he says. Easy pop quizzes and easy extra credit, but the tests were horrendous enough to make this class unbearable. Each exam had a lot of questions that mentioned things that weren't brought up AT ALL in the notes.
He was an overall Good Professor, having to do a lot of studying for exams, and some material not on the notes. There is extra credit and easy pop quizzes, just need to show up to class. He does make political jokes, which I don't care about, but when you hear them every class, it gets old fast.
although this professor is funny his test are so hard and come straight from lectures and gives no test reviews. do not take him because you will not get an A. i spent more time watching lecture than anything and never got above a C on a test.
Professor Haussman makes the lectures entertaining. He tells them as a story rather than an event. the grading is based off a point system and if you do the extra credit and all of the quizzes you will be fine. He gives pop quizzes at the end of class, but not everyone. They are very easy and give you an idea what will be on the honor lock test.
He is amazing in one class he moved me to tears history has never been this special. I have changed my life around thanks to him. His jokes are so hilarious that he had me repeating them to tell others. I picked him because he reminds me of the green goblin from spider man and I'm a huge spiderman fan! "With great power comes great responsibility"
Professor, Haussman is very straight forward. His class is not an easy A though. Attendance isn't graded, but his pop quizzes are random and you can't make them up. There's no homework, just quizzes and exams. STUDY HARD FOR THE EXAMS! His exams are tricky and you need to really know the lectures
I took this as an 8 week class and it was great. Very caring professor. Was fast paced. Only had 3 exams, 1 final, and a paper due - not really any homework. He did give pop quizzes and took attendance to make sure that students showed up. The pop quizzes are also based off correct answers. He is very nice though and made my 7:45 am class fun
Attendance is not mandatory, but you cannot afford to miss any classes because there is a "pop quiz" every day. His class isn't hard, just annoying and frustrating. I just took a test over WW1 and WW2 and there were maybe 10 questions out of 75 that were actually about the wars. The tests are over minute, irrelevant details.
Professor Haussman is the most critical and disrespectful professor I've had. He lectures by reading off an HTML document and elaborates on topics that do not matter to the current subject. He creates exam questions that have never been discussed, adds requirements to an essay rubric but doesn't tell anyone, and criticizes you for not expecting it.
He is a very good professor. Even though attendance isn't require, he will give 5 easy questions quizzes to deliver on class, so you'll need to attend to have the questions. I would take him again because as long as you study a little for the exams you can easily pass.
Attendance matters due to pop quizzes every class. His tests are specific and require a lot of studying. Definitely pay attention during lectures because he says a lot of info that isn't in his written notes. Lectures are interesting but can get confusing. One extra credit opportunity.
He is very nice, but I sometimes get lost during lectures. He gets sidetracked on the timeline he is trying to describe sometimes. Not a challenging class, though, if you study for the exams. One extra credit essay and an essay at the end of the course too. Attendance pop quizzes at the end of each class. Also, his note document is a nightmare.
The class was not too hard. Graded mostly on tests and one paper. Although the teacher was a little crazy. He gets very mad when you ask simple questions. He directly said the final was cumulative which it was not. Overall it seemed like it was time for him to retire.
He is so rude when you try to ask him questions. Makes attendance mandatory but he goes extremely off topic during his lectures. Get ready to hear his personal opinion on US History. His lecture notes are extremely unclear to the point where I had to do my own research often. The class itself is very easy and you can definitely do good.
This is the best history teacher I have ever had in school. He makes the class enjoyable and memorable for all. He doesn't need to fake his personality and he shows why he is great by the way he teaches. He is always interactive and wants to let everyone know how much he know on the topic. You can ask him anything, he knows the information fully!!!
took the blended class & was a great prof. explains his lectures well & tests were not too hard as long as you go over notes. gives pop quiz questions at the end of class(doesnt give them on 5ish random days so go to class or have a plug) & you turn them in online. gives extra credit sometimes, as well as sometimes going on random funny rants.
Professor Haussman took some warming up to, he had a unique teaching style, he made his own PowerPoints and his tests covered everything on these PowerPoints. He had no review guide which made studying hard. However if you take the time to go to his office hours and get to know him a little he is a very nice man and a very good and unique professor.
Haussman is genuinely one of the funniest teachers i've had and makes class interesting. He is clearly very passionate about his job which makes the lectures all the more better. His tests are difficult, but everything is in the notes. Beware of pop quizzes every class. 1 extra credit and 1 paper. Love this guy and I would take him again.
I took Professor Haussman's 8-week course for 1301 and struggled a lot with his tests. I would dedicate so much of my time studying for his tests and never got an A (even tho I attended every lecture and watched all of his recorded lectures). There was often material on them that he never went over with many true/false questions.
Nice professor, reads off of an unorganized HTML file for his lecture. Has a pop quiz after every class and cannot make it up under any circumstance, so you need to be there. The pop quizzes are very easy and boost your grade. There are no reviews and tests have questions that were never discussed in the lecture or anywhere. Tests are very hard.
Don't show up late for class, he gets very agitated and it shows in the lecture. There are Pop Quizzes and you never know when they will happen. If you miss class he will not, under any circumstance (not even for a disability), allow you to make up the pop quiz. I really liked how the exams were formatted. Watch the online videos, they cover more.
Professor Haussman's class takes some adjustment, but attending lectures and using resources like unstuckstudy can really help you do well. His tests cover a lot, so be prepared to study hard.
This guy is amazing. He is not boring at all and keeps my attention the whole class time. I would recommend going to all the classes because he gives a pop quiz at the end every time. Im taking the 8 week btw. The quizzes are easy tho they are 5 questions and you can use your notes and google so dont let that stump you into not taking his class.
This dude is so funny, I laughed out loud a couple of time in class on accident. His pop quizzes are guaranteed 100%'s pretty much as long as you go to class. Super nice guy and his lectures are interesting. His test is difficult, but just read the lecture notes again and you'll be fine. I would definitely take this guy again.
Such a funny guy and I definitely looked forward to his classes. He has "pop quizzes" but they're every class, only 5 questions, and he gives all the answers in the lecture. Some of the test questions are pulled from thin air and we never covered it but it's easy enough to guess or at least get a decent grade in his class(es).
I took his 1301 8 week course. His lectures are AWFUL, he reads off of old notes from 2021 & there is a pop quiz at the end of every class. His tests are really hard and his lectures barely cover anything on the test. Attendance is mandatory and when you try to ask him a question he's not nice about it. Do not take him.
