Prof. Grewal knows his subject but is able to make Physics accessible to non-stem majors like me. His lectures sometimes go off on weird tangents that end up returning to physics. He reminds me of Rick Sanchez from Rick & Morty. Grades hard, but is very helpful outside of class. He is also kinda cute :P

Pros : One of my favorite classes at CSUDH. Professor Grewal does a very good job of explaining the math. He grades hard, but gives EC and lets you correct mistakes and resubmit in order to improve your grade. Cons: Lectures sometimes go off-topic. The coarse material is sometimes difficult to understand. Class is three hours long.

Fun Class

Makes you work for an A. Talks a lot about how to weaponize physics. As a consience objector to war. I would prefer he used examples of physics that were for peace.

I guess Prof Grewal graduated from CSUDH. He has TORO Pride. He grade hard. But he help alot and will help you pass his class. He bring real world demostartions to class and posts his lecture notes so you do not have to copy them down in class.

Prof. Grewal has been the past teacher I have had at CSUDH so far. I learn more about Physics from him then from my other physics professor. Prof. Grewal clearly loves his job unlike some other professors I have here at CSUDH. I am taking him again for PHY132 in the spring. He is a tough grader, but grades fair. I went from a 60 avg to a 90 avg.

This professor makes me want to get hit by a campus bus. He is also funny because he got shocked during an experiment. So the labs are bearable, but they take forever (not his fault). Good professor, but the fact I have to take physics as a Math Ed major sucks.

Prof Grewal is AWESOME. He seems to be the smartest professor I have. I went thru are very difficult break up with my long time b/f. I was a wreck. Prof. Grewal noticed and said I could take some extra time on the homework. He also talked to me outside of class and told me "it gets better". I am sure I would have drop out had it not been for him!

One of the funniest professors I've had at DH. Great guy lol I love that gets lost af with us sometimes but we figure out what to do and we move on.

This dude is hilarious. He makes the class interesting it very weird ways. Goes on tangents, but somehow they are always about his car or weapons.

Hated this guy in the beginning. Full of himself. I have now come to respect him. I have learned more about chemistry from professor grewal than I have from my PChem class. He grades hard but gives extra credit almost every week. He lets me call him outside of class if I have questions about the lab. Plays sweet music during the lab part.

Dr. Grewal is a hard grader. He expects you to study before coming to class. I thought I was going to fail his class. After going to office hours he helped me understand the math. I just saw my grade and it is a B. If you are looking for an easy A do not take him. If you want to learn than he is the best in the department! Lectures are fun.

I switched to Grewal's class on a recommendation from the CSUDH FB group. After the first lecture, I can see why he is highly recommended. We did an experiment on the very first day. He clearly loves what he does. He was very helpful in teaching us math. I wish he was my lecture professor. She did not go over anything!!

Dr. Grewal expects you to come to class prepared. If you do not put in time to study or do not know the math he makes no apologies about failing student. Exams are open book and via computer. If you just need the class for credit/no credit do not take his class. If you want to go own to Grad school take Dr. Grewal

I DREADED physics. I used to be so lost in the labs and then went to office hours weekly to get help. My scores improved within each lab. Our group with phys/math/bio/chem majors was always lost. But we had fun making (shocking) mistakes with Grewal. Even if we spend too much writing the reports. As a math ed major, i appreciate physics now.

The best of the best. If you want an actual PHYSICS lab where you learn, not just a boring class this is it. You will do physics. I had this guy for 130. Our class was one of the only classes that kept meeting (online) after the campus closed. Since we are online 100% for now I rushed to sign up for his 132 class.

I left my friday lab and xfered to Prof Grewal's lab. His lab is the only class at CSUDH that is being serious. My lecture is a joke. CSUDH is not the University of Phoenix.

Prof Grewal is one of the best professors I have had at CSUDH. He gets very excited about physics when explaining stuff to me. I took physics at the cc and failed it. Prof. Grewal is able to explain this complex topic in a way I can understand. Do not be fooled, this class has a lot of work and he is a tough grader. But he makes everything clear.

How to you teach physics online????? How can you even do experiments???? Grewal makes this possible. He does live demonstrations (Lasers, Rolling Marbles, driving in he car ((he seems to be in love with his car)) etc.) CSUDH is going to be online again in spring. I am going to reg early so I can take Harneet again.

Great Prof. Made Zoom seem like we were in the classroom. The only prof i had that would actually communicate with me outside of class.

Honestly one of the best professors I've had here at CSUDH. I had him during Fall2020, online, during COVID, and learn more PHYs from him than from my lecture professor. If your lab report is wrong, he'll let you know how to fix it. I never got anything less than an A on each report. Labs were a bit confusing but he's always there to help.

Hard Grader but he lets you redo your work. He uses discord. I wish all professors used this at csudh. He responds to my questions in 1 hour or less. He has office hours everyday and also tutors in math and chemistry

He is amaaaaaaazing Loves animals, so easy to reach outside class, lectures nicely. I feel like I learned more in his lecture before the lab more than my professor lecture. Grading alittle hard on the first ones but once you get what he wants, it is easy

Took this class as a CAMS student in Fall 2019, Show up to the lab, collect data, write the report, make sure the calculations make sense, and then boom, east 100 percent on the lab reports. Also, he talks a lot about weapons. I got to Cal Poly Pomona and I need a professor like Grewal there!!

Dr. Grewal made online learning much more manageable and was very accessible outside of class. you will work for your grade but he posts videos where he explains how to write the lab reports. Do yourself a favor and take good notes of this and make a reusable template. It will make your life easier. You will need to know you stuff.

Made Physics accessible to non-stem majors (kinesiology). He will tutor you for hours until you understand the topic. Uses Discord which is awesome . He was my lecture professor for PHY120 where I actually learned something until the original professor came back from leave. Take his class if you can get in!

If you have to take Physics take Dr. Grewal. He is very good at explaining the math to non science majors. I am a phy ed major and have to take Physics. I barely passed the the math pre-recs. Dr. Grewal showed me how to do the math on my calculator. Take his class!

I have never had a professor as amazing as Professor Grewal. With being on zoom & overall online, he really made his online lab fun! He cares a lot about his students & will help them at any cost to understand the subject. Nonetheless, he is the lord of physics hands down (& HE USES DISCORD?!?!). If you have to take physics, take his class! :D

Professor is great, Physics has never been my strong suit and I knew I was going to struggle, but this professor did an amazing job taking his time and explaining something I did incorrectly during office hours. you do have to attend class and do the labs, he lets you do group assignments but only on some labs. communication is key.

He makes the lab hard by not saying that much of instructions or tips at the time of the class. That is why you will really need to go to his office hours because of that. In class, he will call you for questions instead of volunteers and that's what I don't like but it will keep you learning. His teaching method works well with me. I recommend him

Honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. Funny guy, easy going too! Seems more understanding of the struggles a student faces especially during these covid times. Prof Grewal is the G.O.A.T. I switched to his class after my g/f told me about her experience with him last sem. He demands that you come prepared with the pre reading but will spend time with you both in class and outside class helping you become an expert in kinematics. He has over 10 hours of office hours per week plus online appointments

Professor Harneet Grewal is an amazing professor, he is very accessible when not in class. He is a professor with tons of office hours and he is helpful. If you don t understand something, he will help you as long as you seek his help. His class is super fun and makes physics interesting. WORTH TAKING HIS CLASS.

He is very helpful and very accesible. If you fully do the lab report, he grades it and allows you to fix the mistakes for a better grade. He's very entertaining, and makes lab less boring. He is always either at school or on discord which is so much easier to contact. He always is available to help with understanding equations or labs in depth.

Prof. H. Grewal is invaluable to the physics department. He has the ingenuity, knowledge, and a way to connect with students at a level that makes physics make sense. His sense of humor is superb! Overall, he is one of few professors that care. So when in doubt, ask him. If I were extending my physics journey, I would retake his class. Brilliant!

This is one of the best professors I have taken at DH. He has amazing lectures and was the best part of PHY 130. Take this with him either lab or lecture they are awesome. Starts off with group lab reports but then transitions to group work making everything a lot smoother with a great group.

Professor Grewal is one of my favorite physics lab professors I have ever had. His real life examples are extremely entertaining and funny. He will make you work for your grade and if you have any questions regarding lab write ups, attend office hours and he will tell you exactly what you are missing and how to fix it. 100% WOULD TAKE AGAIN.

He's a good professor. Like if you like physics you will vibe with him. He's pretty tech savvy and understands a lot of things. But he will lag forever in answering a DM. He uses discord which is cool and he's ALWAYS on discords so like him lagging in answering doesn't make sense to me. but other than that he's a chill professor.

The professor shows enthusiasm and obvious knowledge of the topics discussed in class. He engages students every week with group labs and lab reports so attendance is mandatory. The lectures can be a bit difficult at times as the professor is occasionally unorganized when teaching topics in the class so ask him questions for clarification.

To succeed in this class it is important to participate in your groups, at the beginning of the semester choose a group that you think is going to do their work, it matters. You can make up you're low scores and aim for a higher (need to redo the lab). I would definitely take this class again.

Fantastic professor who makes it a priority to keep students engaged while simplifying lectures to make physics easier to grasp. Lab reports are difficult at first but get easier the more you do them. Luckily he is very understanding & provides students the opportunity to redo them to increase their initial grade so long as they goto office hours.

This professor inspired me to pay attention in class. For example, he talked about the voyager 2 before starting lab and related it to the lab. This explanation made it more motivating and intriguing to learn about the lab and learn more about physics. I can say he is the Carl Sagan of Physics in CSUDH. Had him last semester on a Friday night. Went in angry and came out delighted. He's THE general physics lab professor at CSUDH. Extremely funny and caring about his students. 120 ONLINE: Funny, nice, AND chill. Super lenient w/ lab report deadlines this semester so I still don't know my grade haha. Overall he showed so much passion for physics. His labs were very interesting and actually helped me learn better than my actual lectures. For his labs he is super helpful and he let you turn in the labs as many times as possible. He also makes time for you in case you need help with any of the labs. There is really no way for you to fail the lab.

Probably the realest professor you'll have. Knows how to deliver lectures without boring the class. He will teach you how wonderful war truly is with physics. Just make sure you don't wear crocs and you'll be golden.

Professor Grewal kept his online lab lectures interesting yet had us engage with other lab group members through Zoom. We finished lab reports together, though the first ones were solo and he gave quick feedback to resubmit!

Professor Grewal cares about his students doing well and offered to help for the lecture portion of physics even though our class only had him for lab. His class can be hectic, and at times I found myself not really knowing what I was doing, but he explains a lot of the concepts and the environment is fun.

this professor is all over the place, he is smart, explains well. show up to lab, do your own reports, date them, and put a title to make thing easier for you when assignment links are open. DO NOT wear crocs to class, he will scold at you.

He is a fun teacher, it feels nice to go to his class. Just do the lab reports with time so they don't pile up at the end of the semester since he doesn't put the due dates until really the last month.

Professor Grewal gives really good lectures in the beginning of class which is useful when your lecture professor is terrible. Don't expect to get out early of lab most days, and don't wait until the end of the semester to turn in your lab reports. Overall he is really understanding and one of the best professors at this campus.

This guy is the GOAT This is the only class that I look forward to each WEEK. He spent an hour past his office hours to help a group of us prepare for our mid term. His lectures explain how to see physics in the real world and its industry applications (I am computer sci major).

This is for his lab. I always looked forward to his labs, always had something odd/interesting to say. He's very involved and try's to offer us as much help as he can and thats rare in professors unfortunately. I'd 100% take him again. I know he reads these, so thank you and don't change! 8/10, (he's a little disorganized but I can overlook it).

Great professor, fairly easy to get ahold of outside of class since he uses discord. Make sure to ask questions whenever you're stuck during a lab, he will help you out. Just make sure you don't miss class and if you do just let him know

Professor Grewal was an amazing instructor throughout the semester. I've taken him before for PHY130 and it's always a joy to be in his class. You would learn so much while also having fun, and even though it's a 2h 50mins class, time would pass by so easily. He is also willing to help anybody who's struggling.

Engaging lab with extensive work load, but manageable since lab reports are done in groups. Professor Grewal is extremely passionate and shares honest perspectives/insights on how physics can be applied to the real world. Took 130 with him as well, and nothing but positive experiences both semesters. Highly recommend!

Professor Harneet Grewal is one of the most engaging and inspiring instructors I've had at CSUDH. He's deeply passionate about physics and goes out of his way to make each class or lab session both informative and enjoyable. His teaching style emphasizes real-world applications, making complex topics easier to grasp and more exciting to explore.

Professor Grewal's class is engaging, with many fun labs. Although the papers are extensive, they are very helpful and interesting to complete.

One of the few professors that I have seen deeply care about the subject. He is always open to questions and is always willing to help on reports. Also is very lenient on labs and will allow you to turn in late. Overall 10/10 recommend as he deeply cares that everyone is able to do the labs and complete the lab reports to the best of one's ability.

The best professor I've ever had. Hilarious, passionate about the subject matter, flexible with assignments, and treats us like equals. He's super honest and caring, and sets a perfect relaxed environment in class. He knows his stuff, and the labs themselves are fun and engaging. Get whatever lab he's teaching, you won't regret it.

1 Lab Report assignment every week. They're not difficult, just tedious. Lab reports can be turned in weeks/months after the corresponding lab experiment you perform in class. Just get it done or it WILL stack up. You WILL need to ask for clarification of the lab manual. Expect a dark sense of humor and an existential crisis or two on your part.

Professor Grewal had really funny lectures. He let the class work in groups for the majority of the lab reports. He also gave way more time than needed to submit lab reports. He offers office hours online throughout the week for students with questions and is approachable if you're confused on lecture.

This is one of the best instructors known to man. He has the ability to turn hard topics taught by other professors into engaging lessons. His explanation of atomic bombs and the physics behind them was one of the most interesting lecturers I've ever experienced.
