Okay, this guy is for the gifted hardcore writers. If you're not good at writing or discussing don't take him. But if you are, your efforts will be highly awarded (I got an A)and you will enjoy his class. Historically very interesting topics are handled.

Not an easy class, but I got an A because I worked hard for it. You earn your grade here. If you are respectful, do your readings and do what is asked, then you will pass. I learned alot of Greek mythology because of him. He's stern, but fair.

You must work for your grade in his class. He is very strict, but he is fair. You must read and do the work he asks of you. He gave a quiz every class on the readings from the night before.

I really liked this class. The professor was nice and his quizes were easy if you read the materials.No final;he talks a lot about places that he has gone but knows the material very well.

Alright in all fairness he has his favorates and I was one of them...but seriously a C? U have to be one bumb mother ****** to do badly in his class. He doesnt like imbassils and smart asses so just sit back, listen and enjoy the movies...do ur papers and stop complaining already I got A's 3 times!

Prof. Brent is not the easiest teacher if you love to procrastinate. But taking his class gave me better knowledge about the subject. His movies as well as stories about his travels are so interesting. The papers are not bad at all, but the quizes could end up biting u in the a**. Do the readings!

If you like drama, it is a very easy class. I got an A-, and english is not my mother tongue. Just go to class, watch the movies, and listen to the few words he says. It is not a rocket science, and he's not that horrible of a person. Just don't ever be late and ask stupid questons.

this is the easiest professor i have ever taken in english. he is very interesting and an easy A. he makes the class interesting and entertaining. all we did the whole semester are daily quizes, of which i took from spark notes and recieved 100 on allof them. and one five page paper. thats all. i dred taking english but this prof is excellent!!!!

This professor is a great college professor! He's not there to babysit the students, so if you miss class, he's not going to hound you like you're still in grade school. Just do the readings and do well on test and you will do great. He belongs at a University!

He may be strict and lectures can be boring sometimes, but the screenings helped with the passages and there were really only 2 assignments and tests (the midterm and paper). Just read up on what he assigns.

One one hand, the class is kind of boring. There is no participation in class at all; he basically talks the whole time, hardly any questions asked to trigger interest form the studets. On the other hand, there is no midterm nor final, but daily quizes on the readings, and one final essay. Check out Sparknotes.com and u'll do just fine.

Very easy professor. Even though he gives quizes every day, the questions test your basic understanding of the material. Only 1 final paper. He is not that boring. The stuff he talks about can be quite interesting.

Not that bad of a professor. Gives a lot of reading, but most if not all of it is on sparknotes. Daily quizzes on the readings, which werent too hard. Only a final paper that wasnt too bad. just take notes in his class and it'll help u on the final paper.

OK this dude has some major issues, he is easy enough and not that boring, but he is soooooo arrogant and tyranical, i am not kidding i have seen him make people cry!!!!!!

I really enjoyed his class. He was a bit strict on food and electronics, but other than that, he prepares you for his exams, and i had a take home final.One of my favorite classes this past semester

His class was easy, quiz everyday about the chapter he assigns to read. One term paper where you have to visit the Metrop Museum. Mostly lectures and movies. DO NOT ask him questions, share your thoughts, bring any drinks to class, wear a cap, use any electronical device, be absent more than 3 times (he will drop you).....and you'll be fine.

Don't ask him stupid questions. Easy quizes, no final and midterms; only 1 paper. Take him.

Got some serious issues but hey, do your work, zip your mouth, don't bring drinks, read the assigned materials... basically do everything he tells you and you'll get an A.. he takes attendance SERIOUSLY so don't be absent 4 times or he'll drop you out of class! Other than that, just laugh at how he turns red when you drink water in class. GL!

Very easy class, do your reading ( i used Spark Notes), attend classes, dont drink or eat, and you'll do fine. Daily quizes based on reading, ONE easy final paper and thats it. Highly recommended if you don't mind being bored

This guy is super easy. Just follow his simple instructions. Read the easy assignments he gives and sparknotes the long ones. Easy A. One paper, but quizzes every day.

Nice guy overall, and not too demanding. Recommended for those who would rather listen to the professor say something meaningful, instead of the usual random contributions of their classmates. You'll get a respite from class participation, which is way overrated anyway. Lots of poetry, 2 novels, many movies and even a visit to the BPAC. Take him !

Prof. Brent is little bit weird. He gives no final/midterm. But quizzes every single day + 1 paper. A little bit boring. somewhat recommended for those who hate writing ;)

Quiz every class and one (another one optional) final paper.If you read the assigned poems and pieces, you'll be fine. He grades fairly. Class itself might be a bit boring, but overall the class was ok.

Best teacher I have ever had. Very easy. Quiz every day (5 min writing on reading he assigned) and a final paper. There is a comment about him not being very bright. WHAT PLANET ARE YOU ON!? The guy is an academic and can speak multiple languages, taught in china for 10 years and has been all over the world studying different things. Great man!

The class is not hard but he is strict.No cell phones or drinks in class and he means it.Do the readings he assigns and you'll pass no problem.He speaks languages that havn't been spoken in centuries and has some pretty interesting stories.I recommend this class because it is a very straight forward and easy A if you do the readings

Okay here's the real deal. Expect to have a quiz every class at the beginning of class so don't be late even though he drops 3 quiz grades, which is more than generous. You can Sparknotes and wiki everything, but make sure you have the books in class. He assigned one 5 page paper, which was easy. His class is REALLY interesting...

Professor Brent is brilliant and his class is not hard at all. His class is interesting because there is always interactions with students. He is definitely the best English professor at Baruch, so take him if want an easy A. Must take.

75% of the grade is quizzes based on readings given every day at the start of the class and the other 25% is a 5 page paper which isn't too difficult. He drops three of the lowest quizzes, but some of the questions are very detailed / specific. (Who's the author? What's the name of the person who said this quote?) He talks all class, shows movies.

Professor Brent uses modern and interesting selection of literature and shows movies' interpretations based on the used novels. 4 in class essays, clear grading system

Professor Brent is one of the most misunderstood guys I have ever came across. In the first week, we got quizzes and most people did poorly. However, once he set the tone of the year, the quizzes seemed a lot easier. Yes, he does ramble, but the man knows his craft, and appropriately demands respect. Fantasic professor

One of my easiest class just get the book he requires and use sparknotes before every quiz. i literally sparknote on the train ride there and did ok maybe a 80-90 average on all the quizes. He gives hints on what the quiz question will be. I dont know how anyone can do bad in his class.

Maybe this wonderful man is relaxed in drama class (as opposed to bad reviews) since he inspired me to seek and buy sooo many books, novels, plays and discovered the whole new world of writers and theater plays, as well as giving me a myriad of ideas for my own writing. Eternally grateful and will remember Baruch with fond memories.

Prof. Brent is a very intelligent man and makes you work for your grade. The poems are very interesting. Every class there is a quiz on assigned poems(75% of the grade). He drops 3 of the lowest quiz grades and 25% is a 5 page paper based on an exhibition. The man talks about life and death, he does not ramble irrelevant things. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!

He can be rude if he feels you aren't respecting him (talking when he talks or checking your phone during class). If you just sit there listen to his lectures and say something when he asks for the opinion of the class he will give you that respect back. The quizzes aren't hard just read the poems and sparknotes and you can get an A.

If you dont ask questions that can be answered through what he already mentioned in class and are respectful he will give you that respect back. Just be respectful, read the material he assigns for homework as you will be asked to provide a summary for the quizzes, and you will truly enjoy this class and what the professor has to offer.

There's a quiz every class based on poems he assigns to read (75% of your grade) and this obviously means you have to go to class (Pro Tip: SparkNotes summaries make for easy As on the quizzes) The other 25% is a Museum Paper. His lectures are a drag though, he mostly sits at his desk reading poems. No charisma, or energy, but it's an easy A.

He's a great professor! The course was done through email and the class consisted of 1 or 2 weekly one-page quizzes and a final five-page paper. If you put in the work and read his lectures you'll do great. Would take him again!
