Very good prof. Didnt think I would like at first, but everything is straight forward. Take good notes, no text, test are fairly simple, usually gives extra points after each test. Go to class, its usually interesting

If you were to look up the definition of a great professor, his picture would be there. He has compassion for education, his students and the children in the schools. He is in teaching for the right reasons and has taught me so much.

I had professor Jaus for Intro to Education and for Science Methods... He is a wonderful teacher! He is very passionate about Teaching and it is very clear to anyone who is lucky enough to have him as a teacher. Dr. Jaus is always there for everyone!!

Perhaps the best Educ. professor at UNCC. He is beyond nice, will help you out, and makes the class worth going to. BE SURE TO GO TO CLASS! A warning though, be good at taking notes because you will need them. Study+attendance = good experience and an A.

He is an excellant teacher. Likes his subject and gets excited, makes it interesting. It is a large class,but he allows questions/dialogue. (However,won't tolerate B.S. from students.) SHOW UP for class, notes critical.

He's the man. Take notes and show up or don't bother coming though. Your notes will be the test itself. Don't try to BS him though or he'll take you to school.

He is an awesome professor! I have leanrned so much in his class. Its not a an easy A. you have to go to class and study, but I promise he makes you want to come to class. I hate missing it, and I'm not a school nerd. Take him! You won't regret it.

Go to class and take notes and you will have NO problem with this professor. Very clear and up front about exams. Very helpful if you need anything also...I highly recommend taking his class

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CLASS! Don't bother taking anyone else. Very straight-forward and you will have no problem if you take notes, show up for class, and pay attention. tests are pertinent, gives extra chance to bring up grade with attendace policy.

GREAT teacher! He is very interesting and is very willing to work with you. you must attend class because he takes off 4 points each time you miss, attendance being 20 %, but class is interesting. easy if you do all your work and come to class!

He's not perfect,(like he yells sometimes) but after having him for 2 diff. courses he was, and remains one of my favorite professors. Do homework, take good notes, ask questions, and you will learn a lot, have fun, AND get an "A".

Take this class if you want to know the material AND want to make an easy A. He presents well, but is a typical liberal in that he often makes it appear his opinion is the majority. It gets old after awhile.

Jaus is GREAT!!! he is interesting and easy, but the information he gives is helpful. SIDE NOTE-DO NOT BE LATE TO HIS CLASS!!!! He hates people walking in late, so be on time! Other than that he is AWESOME!!!!

Dr. Jaus is fun and interesting. He's very dramatic so lectures are not boring. There's no book but attendance is taken and counts as part of your score. Tests are fair and not too hard. I liked him a lot.

He is a very good teacher. He is very knowledgable and passionate. His tests differ in difficulty but they are weighed the same. That is great! If you get a chance, take a class with this professor.

Dr. Jaus is a very dedicated educator. He engages you in the class by always telling stories and giving examples. The tests are not so bad it you study, they differ but are all Multiple Coice or true false. Attendence is a must but you will enjoy the class. I can't wait to have another class.

This is a pretty easy class, just don't take it in the morning because you are liable to fall asleep a few times. Tests are 110 questions, but if you study, you might do okay. Definitely don't skip class, you will miss 10 pages of notes.

dont let him fool you, hes a sweet guy. easy tests... but the attendence policy is MADNESS. 8am.. and you have to go.. 4pts deducted for everyday you miss.. but thats the bad part.. other than that.. much love for this beer-bellied man

Jaus's intro to education class is interesting and easy enough if you take notes and study the night before the test. He is without a doubt the VERY BEST! I would recommend his class to absolutely anyone!

Ok so day one he is scary!! He yells, will call you out if your doing some thing else in class, and he can be very intimadating. After the first week he is funny, caring, and loves what he does. His pasion for teaching is contagious. DONT MISS CLASS -4pts for every miss!!! Test are 40 MC 70 TF.

Dr. Jaus is the freaking man! I love him to death; his classes were always either entertaining or very interesting content wise. People are right to tell you that his passion and love for teaching is really inspiring... take this class but you must show up, attendance is mandatory. He isn't unreasonable and gives you lots of answers on tests!

Take this class. he is very entertaining and really cares. If you go and take notes its an easy class. Plus, you dont have to buy a book and he gives you alot of test answers before hand.

I loved this guy. One of the few profs that makes it worth while to go to class at 8:00 in the morning. Such an interesting guy and tells great stories. Obvious that he loves to teach.

I LOVE dr. jaus! He makes me laugh. You can't really tell if he is being serious or not... I think he is trying to be, but I just think he is so adorable that he makes me laugh. He's very picky on grammar, but that's easy. One take home test and final is optional. He isn't picky with clinicals, they aren't even a part of your grade. He is just interested in letting you get the experience. He is retireing soon though...

I love Dr. Jaus! I had him for intro and science and thoroughly enjoyed both. He is getting on up there in age, and it is beginning to show, but despite feeling ill and being sick some of the semester, he still did a great job teaching science. He is very PASSIONATE about teaching, and he only wants the best teachers out there in the real world!!

Great guy...really loves students and teaching in general! The only bad thing is you have to take your on notes and try not to fall asleep during his lectures.

He is very honest about the requirements of being a teacher in today's world. He has a lot of stories to tell. Be prepared to take notes, complete a curcuit board, and do a science experiment.

Attendance is required, and studying is a must. This class is difficult.

Please don't believe that this class is hard. Yes, you have to study for the tests but most of the information covered is common sense. Jaus may be a smart guy but sometimes I get the impression that he doesn't always know what he's talking about. His study guides are barely legible and his lectures can get incredibly boring! Overall decent.

Attendance is mandatory, but thats because he wants you to get the best grade you can. He is a very funny guy and likes to tell stories. he gives a really helpful cheat sheet for the material on the first test, and as the class goes on throughout the semester, the smaller the cheat sheet gets

Dr. Jaus is great! He is the cutest little old man. But, seriously you would think he would put you in the mind of your grandpa and just ramble, well that's true but you pay attention. He likes talking about monkeys and rats. BUT I RECOMMEND HIM 2 ANYONE WHO IS AN EDUCATION MAJOR!!!

3 tests, 1 final. 2nd test is the hardest due to it having a lot of content, 3rd and final are total breezes. Attendance is MANDATORY, but don't get me wrong, I loved going to every class. I honestly learned so much. Be prepared to take a lot of notes. I know all this MIGHT sound bad but you will not regret taking this class. B at the lowest.

Very intelligent man. I wouldn't have wanted any other professor for this class...He's a little arrogant, likes to yell (only because he's passionate about teaching), and makes you hold a mealworm for 10 seconds. That's as bad as it gets. He's a wonderful professor and person.

Dr. Jaus is the best instructor i've had, and will probably ever have. I look forward to getting up on fridays just to go to his class. He lectures the whole time but they are on personaly experience and things to help remember the material. He does not require a textbook so he gives handouts to go by. He is very approachable and funny.

This man is SO PRECIOUS. He was my first education professor and made me absolutely love wanting to be a teacher! He is so much fun. 3 test, one final. Two of the test are all T/F and the first two tests have about 75 T/F! He's amazing and one of the best here at UNCC

Dr. Jauss is really one of the best teachers I have had in a long time. He actually knows the material and had many stories or coathangers as he calls them to help you retrieve the information or to better help you understand the material. He loves his job and you can tell by the way he teaches, no text but as long as you study you will get an A!

this was my favorite class since i've been in college. he is stern but he knows his stuff and he's very knowledgable. i wish every professor i had was like him. there was no textbook required. you took notes and had test. i believe his observations were extra credit. he was awsome and very funny!

He gives excellent supplements to the lectures. His tests are fairly easy as well, and there is opportunity to earn 15 extra points each semester

He was a pretty good teacher. Sometimes he gets off track and tells random stories but other than that he's pretty good. The test are really hard and most of the questions are T/F. Lectures the whole time. Feels more like a history class than an education class.

Unlike many teachers, he knows how to give an entertaining lecture. Takes attendance every class and no book so you need to go! All multiple choice exams, last 2 only T/F. 110 questions, gives you 10 free answers on exams. You do have to study! Do Teacher Observation and write 3page paper for EC. "A" or "B" final grade

Lets you miss a few days, but deducts after a certain amount (this wasn't written in stone as far as I'm concerned). Sometimes his theories are a little unbelievable/out there, but just go to class, remember them and agree with them on the tests and you'll do fine. He's intimidating at times, but really he's a nice guy with good intentions.

This man is a great teacher. I wish that he also taught Bio. He gives you all the info that you need for the test and tells you what to study. Just make sure that you ALWAYS attend class, he doesn't tolerate stupid silly kids in his class. shut up and listen you will learn from this seasoned teacher.

He has a lot to offer and is very wise, but his class is extremely boring if you're not into history. EDUC 2100 deals mostly with the history of educational leaders, not tactis or other info you'd think you need before you enter into the program. I would have chosen another professor for this class if I would have known this...Nice/smart guy though

This was my favorite class during the fall semester and he was my favorite professor. He really knows what he's talking about. Make sure you take good notes and pay attention to his stories because they will help you out on his exams majorly. It's an easy A if you do the extra credit, pay attention in class, and study for the exams ahead of time.

Dr. Jaus is a fantastic professor. He is retiring next year so take him while you can! There is no textbook, he prints out all the notes that he goes over and give them to you, his stories may seem pointless but they are actually really helpful and he uses them as questions on the test. It is easy to get an A in this class if you show up.
