He is the best. Very funny, and helpful. you can really learn in his class, and you don't even need a text book. His notes are the best. He has great reviews for exams. It can't get any Better than that. Trust me . You will be vary happy with Dr. Kay.

Dr.Kay is an awesome teacher super fun and extremely good teacher. I took his class in Spring 07 I got a B+ we had 4 test during the semestre 3 of them were take home test and we didn't have to take de final. So definately I recommend this teacher an easy A. You didn't use the book at all b/c his notes covered everything. Definately take his class

He is a nice teacher. He says he doesnt care about attendace, but he takes it every class, so i would advise going! It is part of your grade in the end. Dr.kay was nice...but a little too easy...i studied hard and got an A but his teaching style is very lenient....if you really need to know biology i suggest reading to book well along with his notes like i did..u can still manage an A without knowing anything because he's so lazy!if you REALLY need to bio in every tiny detail take a harder teacher!

Awesome class. It is supposed to be a 3 hour long class but we never stay there for more than an hour and a half. His tests are straight out of notes, plus a review! I am not all that good in biology but with the timing, I don't mind his class. His tests are fairly easy plus there is a take home test! I would recommend him!

I was in the same class as you. The professor was exceptional. He told us he was going to Europe for a conference. Dr. O was brought in to sub for him. He is an ok guy but his teaching strategies are inadequate for optimal learning. He skips over a lot of info that may be important for those taking mcat, pcat, HESI,etc.You must self study.He goes over his portion in class.But many of the test questions are unrelated to his teachings.Labs are a joke- very elementary.100 q's on each test.Bummer...

I enjoyed Professor Njemanze's class. He is professional, generous and has a nice manner. He goes over detailed information and break down for you so that you can understand the material better. There were 4 tests and his reviews get you prepared for his tests, but you will have to study hard to get A in his course. Highly recommended!!

I have not taken a biology class since high school (12 yrs ago) and I was a little worried I wouldn't catch on but he is awesome at explaining things and really wants to see you succeed. I have never been so ready to come to class. I hated when I had to miss. He also responds quickly to emails! You put in your part and he will put in his!

Dr. Kay is worth taking. I had him for microbiology and he broke down the lecture to the smallest microbe. His tests are hard, however they are passable. As long as you take good notes and read the book given. You will pass the class! On top of that, You will LEARN a lot of things that will be on your Nursing entrance exam. Take him immediately!

Dr. Njemanze is easily the best professor I've had at HCC. I'm surprised he's not teaching at a university instead honestly. Great lecturer, writes key points on the board so you can take notes, and very funny man.

The most caring professor at Springbranch campus. This guy is as good as it gets. he is very knowledgeable. He encourages students to ask questions. You have to make sure he recognizes you by always answering his questions.

I have been accepted to pharmacy school because of him. He helped me to study for PCAT, and he wrote the best recommendation letter, ever. All glory to God.

4 exams w/100 questions each & 1 final. he will drop the lowest exam grade. if you have any questions he will make sure you understand before you leave. but if you don't ask then he won't be able to help you. exams are easy if you study. he starts class 10minutes after the start time in case they are running late. i highly recommend!

Lab is very easy. Make sure you take good notes and review them! Because you only have one exam for the entire semester. There is no final. You will also have a lab book you have to complete in turn in, also easy.

4exams w/100 questions each exam & drops the lowest exam. 1 district final comprehensive. lectures are clear to the point. talks at a good pace. will clear up any confusion if you ask. he can be a little intimidating but he is great!

I only took Micro Lab with him. He can be intimidating at times but he lectures very well & makes sure you understand! Write everything he writes on the board! We only had one final which consisted of a written part (a review is provided) & a lab practical where you make 2 slides and observe under the microscope. Make sure you get the lab book :)

This is the first time I would actually go out of my way to write about any lecturer. Dr. Kay is one of THE BEST professors in HCC. He truly cares about your understanding . For the lecture we had a test every week. which came down to 4 test and a final. For lab, we had to complete the lab book and final. He has his own manual and the lab book.

Dr Kay is phenomenal, has a great understanding of the subject matter and delivers his lectures amazingly. You will definitely finish the course with a greater interest and understanding of microbiology, he's the best. This professor is out of this world. They should pay him twice as much as they are paying other professors. he definitely cares about his students. He initially comes across as stern and difficult and you may drop his class. But if you hang in there, you will surely make it. he is a wonderful teacher. i wish i had him for all my science classes.

Dr. Kay is just nothing short of wonderful. He is funny, he is knowledgeable. Micro Lecture and Lab with him were both heavy on content, but his exam reviews are very reflective of his real exams. The textbook is basically a spiraled-together book of his typed notes and includes all the content needed to pass. I wish he taught every science!

Dr. Kay basically makes Micro easy to understand. He makes his own textbook for his class (advises to buy). And his tests (100 questions) match up what he teaches. There's a little confusion if you don't have him for lab, which I didn't, but he helped answer questions beforehand. His lectures are great too, very engaging and explains topics well.

I took his micro lecture in the summer 5 weeks & he made it interesting & fun. For lecture you have 4 exams & each 100 mc questions & you have a comprehensive final and a district test. He gives you questions that could be asked on the test. If you dont understand something ask him or email him. Just study and you should pass with an A.

I took him during summer 5 weeks. You only have 1 test (comprehensive final) which is 50 written questions and you have 2 do two stains that he tells you in advance. He is very funny and caring, if you are confused or cant get a stain just ask him or email him and he will help you. You dont have any hw and participation matter. Studying A.

Dr. Njemanze really breaks down his lectures in detail so students fully understand the subject matter. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of microbiology (including biochem!). I never actualIy rate professors but he is literally one of the BEST professors I have ever had in my life. He has an amazing personality and makes learning very interesting! There are 4 exams, lowest grade get dropped, one comprehensive final, and district final, so 6 exams total. You buy the manual ,and study that for the exams. Also, use quizlet to help you get more information. Microbiology lecture is an amazing class ,and so informative. Take really good notes in the class to do well.

Dr. Kay is amazing. If this is going to be your only "tough class" for a given semester then it'll be a piece of pie! Just pay attention to lecture, study with his manual, and don't miss class often! His Lecture was a hoot! Loved it!

I also took Dr. Kay for lab... little bit tougher to bounce back from but ONLY because we had 1 mid term, and 1 final. That was IT. The test were very clear, you just had to pay attention and know what you were doing in lab to pass with an A. No extra credit or work.

Professor Njemanze is really good professor. He explains gis lecture very detailed and tries to answer all questions. He knows that there are a huge amount of materials students need to cover so he does not pressure students by giving homework or group project. Very respected and intelligent!

Professor Kay, is amazing all around stand up guy. He really wants to see his students succeed and is willing to do anything to make sure his students do just that. So I took this class in the hopes to be in person. But sadly at last minute, it was changed to an online class and became a pilot class for doing experiments at home. You can imagine how it went. It was a disaster, but Prof K was on top of it, and taught us without texts or anything. He really cares able about us and our education. Take him.

I took professor Kay for BIOL 2320, 5 week summer course. He uses Top hat, there is a post lecture quiz for every chapter (16), 4 tests, a final exam for the course and dept exam! It is a lot of work but if you study you'll be fine. (He does give extra credit). I enjoyed taking his class, he is very knowledgeable, and understanding.

This lab class is easy. He wrote notes on board and it will be on your exam. Just study those for sure. Tophat is completion grade and he read answers to us at the end of every class. Very straight forward class and easy. I learn and get good grade too. Would recommend.

Very kind and fun professor. The main issue I have is that I'm not a fan of Microbiology, so it's hard for me to focus and understand what is going on. There's a lot that's taught in the lectures and can be a struggle to remember, however, he will stop for questions. Not too much work so thumbs up for that.

Prof Njemanze is the best! His lectures are interesting but he stays on topic. It's obvious he really cares about his students and he'll help whenever he can. Micro is hard so you still have to study but if you want a prof with a great personality who will be on your side, take him! He requires cameras be on, and participation is 10% of your grade.

He is if not, one of the best science professor that I took ! His lectures are very important so please try to attend every class. There's no homework or quiz, he give you lectures you and you study for the test. It is a hard class so pay attention !

I honestly really enjoyed his lectures, he made everything so interesting. Tests are lecture heavy so attendance matters/is required for labs. Tests are straightforward if you take notes during class.

Take him! He writes his own notes on board and that is all you need to study for exams. I learned a lot in his class and I recommend it. All I did was go through my notes and didn't miss a lecture. Tests are a majority of your grade so be prepared. I also recommend taking his class with his lab because it helps both ways.

This is the professor you need for your lecture and lab. Class is easy and simple, he will explain in deep detail what you need to know for test. Pay attention and do reviews and most importantly ask him questions. He loves to answer them until you understand. You will love his way of teaching. Thank you Dr Kay, glad taking your classes.

Best Professor for Microbiology Lab & Lecture. I learned a lot from his class, he makes even the most intricate topics appear simple by his simple ways of explaining the details. Just attend his class, and write down whatever he says, even if it is off the record. Ask questions when you don't understand, and don't ever miss his exam reviews.

Dr. Kay is AWESOME! I took his class online for Microbiology Lecture (2320) in Spring '24 and he put everything in simpler terms. He doesn't mind explaining the material at all. We had 4 exams plus the departmental and comprehensive, they were competitive but Dr. Kay's study guides are always on point! 10/10 would recommend!

The professor was great even though our class is fully online. He gives zero homework but mainly focuses on tests. Try to learn by his lectures videos since most of the tests are based on his lecture videos. He curved my grade from an B to an A. Recommend to take him!!

Dr.K is an amazing passionate professor, he does not have any PowerPoints so make sure you take good notes during lecture.. his test are exactly what he says in the lectures so pay attention! HE really wants you to understand the concept so always ask questions if you're confused

Concepts are dense, like all this scary looking equipment, but with lectures, he's all nah, look, this does this and this does this and then this does this, so that's how you get this. He provides study sessions. Attend them. For laboratory, on the last day, he makes you perform an experiment and you only get either 0 or 100. Memorize and practice the procedure. It's not that hard. He is passionate with what he's teaching but not always easy to understand. I think it's better if you take him for lecture and labs at the same time.
