TOO MUCH WORK for a boring Humanities Course!! (Don't take HU 280)
Good Teacher. Easy, but made you work for the grade. patient
Makes you work hard for the grade, a lot of work, very time consuming
A LOT of assignments that are time consuming, but a caring and patient teacher.
A lot of Work!!! - Not Easy Class
he likes his job, good speaker, enthusiastic, homework on many topics work is
tons of work! NOT a fun class. Not worth it!!!
never take a class with him, he is the devil
Worst class ever taken, didn
difficult but I learned a lot
Tried to be avilable for us. He helped me with some tough problems.
TOO MUCH WORK FOR A GEN ED COURSE, BUT A GREAT AND CARING TEACHER, ITS NOT EASY
Lots of work, very very nice man though
He lives in what he teaches. Incredibly smart, but also incredibly moody. Very hard class. High expectations. Excellent prof though.
Very knowledgable. Demands the best from his students but will help if you try.
Lots of busy work--seemed pointless at the time, but paid off in the end.
Expects a ton from his students. Class can be overwhelming but in the end you realize that it was worth it. Believe me I haven't had another class where I felt like I earned that A. Awesome teacher. Very good guy. But don't expect to squeze by!!
Great Guy!! A wonderful sense of humor. Learned a ton, more than any class before. Weird stuff that I never knew before, but am glad I do now. Taking him again for another humanities class!
Mr. Lee, will have your testicles in his clutching grasp and will NEVER release! LOTS of work, very hard teacher. If you decide to brave through the torture, be ready to read every night. And give lots of oral presentations.
This man is awesome - any chance you get, have him as your prof.
Expect a ton of work. But also expect to leave class looking at things differently. This man makes you think about things in a different light. Very brillant. I would reccomend his classes, just be sure that you have time to read and write alot.
Assigns a lot of work(mostly papers), but grades easy, as long as you meet the expectations of each paper. HU 240 is an interesting class. We had many good discussions, which made the time go by quickly. For the most part, he is a pretty good teacher.
very nice person
Expects a lot from you but you learn a great deal also. He wants you to apply concepts and ideas--not just memorize and forget like some professors. Will help you if you ask--but won't give you an easy way out.
To reiterate, he's tough. He knows what he's talking about, and you can tell. Go out of your way to make sure you have him once, and you'll want a class of his every semester.
Professor Lee will teach you to look at film in a differnt way. Expect to struggle with assignments but also to really learn about film because you will apply what you learn. He is very helpful if you prepare and if you really try to learn.
Its a pretty demanding class but its not as bad as it may seem when you first look at his agenda/syllabus. He rambles on in his lectures w/o much room for discussion but they're pretty interesting (and often a little crazy). He's a decent professor
Professor Lee tries to provide you with the most knowlege he can about the world's religions. If you read the assignments his lectures will fill in with examples and even some practices. The meditation walk was my favorite. It got the ideas of slowing down and concentration across. Be ready to r
Although film could be an interesting area of study, you will watch horrible films, be expected to know everything, and learn nothing. Mr. Lee is constantly late, and very moody. He has high expectations on all assignments, and is inconsistent with grading.
VERY UNHELPFUL! Do not take him for a telecourse! He never returned calls, was late sending tests, and always changed his syllabus! Couldnt get ahold of him EVER!
Knows what he's talking about but, he says that he doesn't have favorites but he does. If you do the work and act like you want to learn you will do well.
He can get pretty cranky and moody, but he can also be pretty funny. Lot's of paper writing in his class though which he grades pretty generously but he grades tough on tests.

I liked his class! You were never afraid to speak up. He always made your opinion feel valued and never made you feel like you were stupid or wrong. With all of the controvertial topics that were discussed in our class, he always seemed to keep an open mind.
Fun Prof. Lots to learn. I had a blast. Only problem is there is way too many papers. Take if you have a lighter class load. The work can get a little overbearing toward the end of the semester.
When I first sighned up for this class I was scared b/c of the comments butit turned out quite well.He is moody at times. There was a lot of writting, each week you had to write a film log. Before you take this class make sure you have acess to a camera your final project is to make a 3-8 min.video.
Excellent Prof....He is interesting, has great insite on many topics. Be ready to expand your mind. Any one who wants to learn something that is not traditionally taught, then take HU 293 Tech & Human Values it could literally change the way you live your life. 4 GOLD STARS!!!
Prof. Lee is a Godsend to students who are actually in college to learn. He assigns alot of work, but it's all very interesting. He's funny, and smart, and has a unique perspective. He is late alot, but he lets you out early alot, as well. Take any of his classes...he's awesome.
He's not a hard teacher, but he does assign a lot of work. Just do it, and you should get a good grade. He's just looking for your thoughts in your papers so don't worry about citations or quotes. Most people will find him interesting, some will find him crazy, just don't take anything he says too seriously.
Great professor...be prepared to watch a lot of films a write a lot.
Great guy. Has a different kind of humor. I guess if you are on the slow side, you won't understand his quirky remarks. He makes you think about stuff you normally wouldn't and it's interesting. The tests are hard and he doesnt really help you prepare for them. The work load looks like a lot, but he always ended up cutting out a lot of assignments.
He rocked! Yanni's not THAT cool though. He was fun and kept things interesting. One of the best I've had in college!
He really gives your mind a run for it's money.
This is a interesting class, and it is nice to be in a class where our thoughts are highly regarded. I will enjoy learning and it seems to be a non intense atmosphere.
VERY interesting teacher, made the Humanities worth learning. Is very accessable and listens to you, and interprets your responses without criticizing them. Makes you want to think about what your opinion is, and how to understand it. One of the few prefessors who actually made going to college fun for learning, and not other activities.
Easily one of the few real profs I've had in the years I was at CC. The class was a breeze, all you had to do was be able to explain why you felt the way you did about whatever the topic was that weak. He gave a lot of people a lot of second chances, not many people used them. Thoughtfulness pays A's.
Great teacher... He knows what he's talking about... But, he does seem to be a little ADHD from time to time. He tends to randomly wander off topic if someone or something distracts him even slightly. But either way, even when he goes off track he's pretty amusing... If you've got patience.
Definitely highest ranking in my affections for professors. He never turns down a student who wants to continue discussing a concept after class. When he says he wants you to think about what you're writing a paper on, he means it! He has a LOT of knowledge to share with the world. I've met my humanities requirements, and I'm still taking classes
This is a class where you will have to work hard to earn your grade. Lee is a good prof, but he missed a lot of time and seemed unorganized. Lee wants you to think when you take this class, and if you do then A's will come easy. It's a serious course and there is a lot of work, if you are close-minded or afraid of hard work, don't bother taking it.
This was a fun class, but he wasnt always on time.. but it was an easy A class.
Completely passionate about the subject matter. Will go to great lengths to understand someone's perspective and is a good listener.
This was the most fun I have had in college. How can a person fail on their own opinion. Alot of work, but the understanding and comprehension that comes from it makes it worth while. Wish I could take more of his classes. Also, how idiotic must someone be to not know their own opinion? Or is it laziness?
good guy. decent class. likes it if you come to him for help. a little unorganized, and not so timely, but respect him, and he'll respect you. Not too hard, just get all your work in.
He is awsome. I have had his twice already and passed his class with hard effort because he can actually relate the stuff everyday life.
I really enjoyed his Humanities class. I don't suggest taking the 7:45am session (a little early for this subject). Lots of media interaction and Professor Lee makes class time very enjoyable. He is happy to help in any way with a smiling face or a joke. Be prepared to read and WRITE.
A lot of work, some of which seems like busy work. Be prepared for this class to take over your life and you will have to put the most effort in to this class. However, he is an EXCELLENT professor, very willing to help, and manages to make the information interesting.
HE SUCKS
Great instructor. He cares about students succeeding and is easy to talk to. Gives students extra credit opportunities. Great instructor.
Excellent professor. I was the only one in my class remotely close to the same generation and life experiences. Lots of writing required, alot of opinion papers, which I thoroughly enjoyed. If you're young and arrogant, be prepared to be called to the carpet. This class is not an easy A. Show respect, receive respect. Thanks Mr. Lee.
Had him for the Art of Being Human, horrible class. Everything related to some sort of religious text or lesson. It wasnt a religion class and it shouldnt have been treated like one.
Mr. Lee is one of my most favorite teachers ever. He is so knowledgeable, and really cares about what he is teaching. You HAVE to go to class... HAVE to read the book, HAVE to take good notes, and HAVE to study... but if you are interested in what these classes are about, then take them from MR. LEE
I agree this class is way to much work. Group projects really suck. lots of reading way to much reading and he doesnt' even go over the readings the following week. Takes way to much time from other classes. You basically learn on your own from the readings. You have to take your own notes from book as you read. Very Very time consuming stressfu
I had him a while ago for two classes, and he does give you a lot of work to do. However (and as cheesy as it may sound) he has a heart of gold and genuinely cares for his students and their academic standing. If he feels you deserve a second chance, he'll give you one. A great professor-not nearly enough like him!
I don't understand why all the smiley faces when rating this professor and class. The class is very stressful to the point where i hate it. take this class and you will understand
completely anal concerning all things history
for all you hater of prof. lee need to understand this COLLEGE not high school. suck it up, jesus christ. this man is a great teacher if you allow him to be. he is understanding and though he hands out lots of assignments, that doesnt make him a bad teacher. its not his fault there are lazy ass students. drop out of college if you cant handle it.
Lee may rub some people the wrong way. He's no very responsible, is late for class and generally not prepared. Lee will def. rub some people, especially those with high expectations, the wrong way. If you're looking for a junk class this would def. be it. Don't bother.
nice guy, good teacher, good heart, but very unorganized and tends to give a lot of work at one time, but other times, you will have none. Fun class though!
At first this class and the load of work can seem overwhelming! But if you stick with this class Prof. Lee will stick with you, and when you get your grade back you'll realize you made it, did well, and learned A LOT about life in general!
mr. lee is an awesome guy. he teaches from the heart. he does assign a lot of work, but THIS IS COLLEGE! he is one of the most unique, genuine professors i have ever had. Student who rate him bad only are angry because they chose not to do thew work. Mr. Lee is AWESOME!
If you want to take a class that will make you think, then take HU 210. I had him and his wife for the class and their approach is thought provoking. She is great with Japanese culture, art, and poetry. His specialty is philosophy and religion. If you like to make excuses and don't want to work, don't take this class.
Take this prof!!!!!!!!!!! Yes he makes you work and think for your grade--but isn't that why we're here? The take home tests seem unending--but if you apply what you read and hear in class--you'll learn even taking a test. He rewards those who go above the requirements and actually work hard. If you just do the minimum--then don't expect an A.
There is no wrong answer in this class; be able to back things up with examples, and you will be fine. If the homework load is light, I would reccomend reading your texts ahead of time and taking notes on them as well. Do everything and put thought into it; it will result in an A.
absolutely no organization and i can't deal with that.. so i absolultely hated it.. he came in late and always always was barking at someone about something stupid... get out of his class while you can!
He is a nice guy but you definitely have to pay attention, and attend his class every session. Quizzes and test are hard.
Very disorganized and doesn't even stick to his own schedule. I made the mistake of taking 2 classes in the same semester with him. The homework load is ridiculous and you might want to brush up on the Reniassance no matter what type of humanities you take (or you'll be lost). Funny guy, but he loses you a lot. No time to absorb anything.
While I did get something out of taking this class I would not recommend it to anyone who works full time or who has many responsibilities outside of school. Yes, I thought this class was a good experience, but he could have taught me just as much with about a tenth of the homework he assigned. This class will consume a great deal of your time.
easy, just do the work, bs it if you have to, i didnt buy one book for that class and still gor a b, just do the work and youll get an a
Tests are very easy
Great guy. Wants to prepare you for the future, so can be firm. Easy grade if you do the work and pay attention to detail. He does not like disruptive or lazy students and he will let you know it. Opinion based class, but be prepared to explain and back up your opinion with reasoning and logic.
Very Intelligent man, worth every minute of class to listen to him lecture, but be prepared to work!
Mr. Lee is an amazing teacher. He is truly one of the greatest at CC. That being said, he's more of a university teacher. There is a lot of work assigned. If you work full time this might not be the best choice for you. However, if you truly want to learn and be interested in the learning, take his class!
Professor Lee is an amazing man. You must show interest and be engaged in his lectures to fully utilize the lessons being taught, but this is a humanities class afterall. His tests are all written essays- so take a lot of notes, listen in class, and read the (LOAD) of texts that are assigned. Excellent teacher!
This is one of the most unintelligent classes I've ever taken. He is very opinionated and teaches solely on what he believes is right. His wife is a great teacher, very open to suggestion whereas he is opposed it.
Disagree w/ him on his opinions, we share a different worldview. despite that-I learned a lot from this and my Philo. of Religion class. They are insightful, interesting, and make you think. College should do so! I don't expect easy As nor want them. Recommended if you actually have a brain in your head. Otherwise, don't bother.
It was hard to understand him and he never told us what to study. He was rude and mean most of the time. I had a paper to turn in to his office and he yelled at me because he was "on the phone" yet again, another idiotic teacher at GRCC.
By far the worst professor I have ever had at GRCC. He was consistently late to class (while expected us to be timely), very unorganized and took forever to get papers back to us.
Terrible teacher.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS
He was a great professor and i desire to take another test with him. He challenges you to THINK! Speak up and even talk to him after class, he will grade you better. I ended the class with 105% Work HARD on your group assignment, its counts for ALOT!!
I took 3 different course with him and loved his approach. Quirky but a great instructor. If you talk to him after class about your needs he will help. Challenges you to think, He is the reason I began to get better grades and am myself going to be a professor as well. By far the best professor in my 7 years in Higher Ed.
VERY hard work is assigned in this class:handwritten papers that can be 15+ pages; assignments that really make you think & are more than just reading the book & copying the answers from it.That being said,he made a class I though I was going to hate into something I really liked,& I'm taking another class he teaches this semester because of it.
Imagine studying art, music, phil., rel., etc. and becoming enthused about them. I always hated anything having to do with the Humanities but Prof Lee got us excited with his hands on approach to topics and helped us see the relevance to our every day lives and our world. Take this class and this prof if you want to learn and be challenged.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! Do not take this class with him. If you enrolled then just drop it now. He was the worst teacher I've had at GRCC. I thought the class sounded like fun, I was VERY wrong. Mr. Lee ruins it!!! He is a super hard grader, which would be fine if he went over any of the material we are suppose to know. And is usally late, or absent.
This prof was awful. In the beginning I was really excited, he sounded like he was going to be a good teacher. Instead, he was late EVERYDAY at least ten minutes. The first quarter of the semester we didn't have any grades at the halfway point we had 300 points and he said not to worry because we'll have another 1300 points by the end..? What we
were tested on was never clear. We'd get used to one test format and then he'd change it, without telling us. He wouldn't even explain the test, probably because he never wrote them himself. In class all we did was watch things on youtube and then there would be a brief intermission where he would ask us a ton of rhetorical questions that
Mr. Lee although quirky, will take the time to explain things over and over again to make sure that you understand. Whereas he does change his testing styly, most are take home, and are right out of the text book. The way he goes about things (e.g. youtube) may seem strange, however, he is trying to get across a point. Give him a chance.

Prof Lee is scattered everywhere. We never know what we are doing in class or for homework. Always late for class, but gets mad when you show up late.
Professor Lee gets you to think. His tests are given in different formats but you know all the questions for the text book because of the study guides. If you skip class you will get lost-but if you come, read your text and study your notes and readings, you'll do well. If you are lazy don't take him.
Great professor. I had him twice, one class was much more difficult than the other. This guy is very interesting, and the subject matter is as well. Take him for any class and you will NOT be disappointed. His wife (Jackie Lee) is great as well!
Awesome Prof. and very approachable especially when you need help with a concept or when some family crisis comes up and you need someone to listen and show some compassion. He'll work with you and bend over backwards to help.
Professor Lee is the best professor I have ever had at CC! He is so knowledgeable and makes class lecture interesting. Not only is he helpful with answering questions about assignments and the schedule, he is also extremely understanding about reasons for missing class. I highly recommend taking a class with him!
he is lazy the semester ended today and the mid term grades are not in blackboard yet. Very scatter brained. i hated his class
This dude is almost always late, he is very lazy, and has no structure.
One of the better profs at the school. If you really want to take you mind and transform it this is the class to take. Gives materials to help with the class and if you DO THE WORK you will be fine.
DO NOT take these classes if you think it is all about fun ! They are very demanding classes. Prof. Lee makes you aspire to a higher level of thinking. He is a very compassionate human being, but in order to be a better you, YOU MUST thoroughly APPLY yourself! DO NOT let the titles of these classes fool you either. Lots & lots of writing papers...
Spends way to much time cracking jokes about everything. One day it took 10 minutes to explain how he wants a title for a paper to be because he feels trying to make everyone laugh is a bit more important. The only thing ive learned from this class is to tolerate "not-so-funny" jokes.
Extremely nice professor, very thorough if you have questions. Although he does have high expectations, he also offers surprise extra credit.
Do NOT take this class if you want an easy A. Lee is frequently absent, loves to post random assignments on BB, gives a lot of homework, and takes this class seriously. However, he is also kind, caring, and pushes you to strive, gives extra credit opportunities, and is helpful, and loves to make people laugh.
Professor Lee is an incredible person. I didn't even know what Humanities was until I took this class and I love it now. He is very passionate about what he teaches and he is also very wise about life. I love hearing his stories, he really knows a lot. His sarcasm is funny. He's also really down to earth and understanding. Great Class.
The class has a heavy workload. But it is interesting and he manages to make it fun. He also offers a lot of extra credit which makes the class more enjoyable. I recommend this class and Mr. Lee as your professor.
Professor Lee is by far my favorite professor at GRCC. While he does tend to be late and absent, he proved himself to be the most helpful and understanding professor I've had. He demands from his students to not just absorb facts but to actually think and discover something on their own. He challenges his students.
PROFESSOR LEE IS AN AMAZING PROFESOOR! I TOOK HIM FOR THE ART OF BEING HUMAN AND BY FAR IT WAS SUCH A GREAT CLASS!!! HE WAS SMART, INTELLIGENT AND KEPT THINGS INTERESTING FOR THE MOST PART! I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE TAKE ATLEAST ONE OF HIS COURSES WHILE ATTENDING GRCC!
This cl;ass is interesting and challenging. Professor Lee is very in tune with students especially older students. The skits are fun and are a great way to learn.
Prof. Lee is a great teacher. He communicates with the class. He will challenge you, in every way. The work load is not to bad, maybe an hour a class. He is usually late for class.
He is a great professor and I enjoyed his class!
It would be nice if the professor was a participant in his own classroom. Being absent half the semester doesn't help anyone.
Professor Lee is a great guy and he's loads of fun to talk to. However, he is not the best teacher. He is always late, he loses focus constantly, his lectures aren't clear, he changed the syllabus so many times we never had any idea what we were supposed to do, and honestly, I don't feel like I learned anything from him.
Professor Lee is a great professor I had him both for World religions and Art of being Human humanities course. sure he can be late a couple times , but who dosent run alitte late sometimes. The class is laid back and you learn alot about diffrent subject, he is an awesome professor and would definelty take other classes with him :)
Best pro ever.
Never on time. Scatter brained. Unorganized. I did not learn a single thing from him and I never missed a class.
Great teacher! Usually late for class. I had a hard time understanding mostly all of his lectures but his tests are exact copies of the study guide. Easy class if you pay attention. I would enroll in any of his classes given the chance.
Lee is vague on his assignments, late to class, and he constantly pushes assignments back. He posts no grades online and took him 2 months to grade our first paper. The grade on the paper was a number. No comments or markings. Group projects are frequent, pointless, and vague
Professor Lee is the worst professor I have ever met. He is always late and is very unclear on what the assignment is. He constantly pushes things back and cannot even keep track of his own schedule. He would ask the class what was due when and had his head up his ass most the time. Worst professor ever.
Professor Lee rarely showed up to class on time. His lectures rarely coincided with the tests, so they were pointless. His tests are easy, but projects and papers are vague. The first half of the semester we had nothing due, but in the last few weeks he remembered the things he forgot to assign and gave them to us all at once, with few directions.
Terrible Teacher. Worst I've ever had.
Professor Lee, rarely was on time for class, halfway through the semester and he has not been here two class periods, and has been on time twice. He never responds to emails, and says to text him instead, but still no reply. I would write more about how Lee is the worst professor I've had at GRCC, but the website only allows 350 characters.
I'm sorry but i have yet to understand what this class is even about. i can guarantee that when we turn things in, harold asks himself why these strange people are handing him all of these papers. there is zero resemblance in anything that comes out of his mouth. how does he have a teaching degree is what i want to know
I really liked him as a person. He's really interesting and funny. But as a teacher he kind of sucks. He's never on time and incredibly scatterbrained. There was a time where my entire table didn't know he had assigned a paper until someone in class asked. Would recommend if you want an interesting class but don't mind a bad teaching style.
Harold has a deep understanding of the beauty of the arts and can explain it in ways that makes sense. However, he is NOT punctual what so ever. Has failed to show up a few days and is consistently late. Do NOT need to read ANY of the books to pass. Seems to not care about anything, even his assignments he doesn't remember if he assigned. Bad class
Although Prof Lee is a nice person, he's an awful teacher. I went into the class hoping that I'd learn a lot about world religions, but I ended up learning more about his daily routine than anything (he was easy to ramble off topic). Above all he was consistently 15 minutes late to every class of the semester. I don't recommend taking his classes.
This prof really Knows film If you like to see technical terms applied to film, take Prof. Lee. Also extremely helpful and very kind.
Dr. Lee really knows his philosophy of religion. The videos of Alvin Plantinga and William Lane Craig are worth watching. He uses multimedia to teach not just books. If you want a challenging philosophy course and one that will transfer I recommend you take this course.
one of the best teachers ever!! He is late to class sometimes..which is sweet! He explains VERY thoroughly, we watched a few movies wrote like 10 essays,& group presentation. He is sooo funny!! And very laid back and chill, so it was great having him! He is VERY knowledgeable about the subject at hand too.
Favorite teacher so far & I've been at cc for two years! His lectures are simple. I noticed a lot of other people seemed to not get anything out of the class, but those were the ones not reading! Read the books people⦠(this class had 8 separate books) I got a lot of them.
Not a hard class. Prof Lee is a very nice man. He knows his stuff when it comes to film. Says no late work on syllabus but he does accept late work which is awesome. Doesn't post grades on Blackboard at all or hand back work until end of semester. Class was boring sometimes. I did learn a lot about the technical aspects of film which I appreciate.
Awesome teacher! This class was fun to take. I enjoyed learning about how movies our made and he taught it in a fun way. Very friendly and helpful. If you show up and do the work you will pass the class. Mr. Lee thought is understanding and will allow you to hand in things late. Just enjoy a class where you can watch movies.
Great class if you apply yourself--take notes--and are not afraid to study.
Honestly not my favorite class to attend, but in the end it was an easy A. He assigns mostly projects and seems like and easy grader on those. His lectures were long and pretty boring in my opinion, but I also have 0 interest in humanities. The 2 exams I took were pretty fair. You must take a lot of notes to do well, aka you should go to class.
I really enjoyed the class. The prof was often about 15 minutes late to class, which was perfect for me as a student who always seems to walk in the door a few minutes late. He didn't hand any material back or post grades until the last day of class, which was a little frustrating. He's clearly knowledgeable and lecture was fascinating. Worth it.
Pretty funny at times but grades papers pretty harshly, at least with mine. Was late to class at least 10 minutes every day, cancelled class quite a lot, got very far behind on lecture material , didn't grade a single thing until the day of the final. Overall I did not enjoy the class one bit, but he's a decent professor who knows the material.
