Lots and lots and lots of papers. I really enjoyed the class and I learned how to improve my writing, but if you are looking for an easy course to fill your English requirement, this one's probably not for you.

I thought Schneider was a very good teacher. I actually liked reading poetry after his class. He obviously cares a lot about english, but all his essays kept me a nervous wreck.

Very helpful if you ask he will explain exactly why your essay got a certain grade, but to get an A you have to have style and other things he does not teach and is only hinted at by the book. If you have talent take this teacher.

Mr. Schneider is a University level teacher instructing at a community college. I took a creative writing class and he helped my writing so much. He was supportive of everyone, but critical enough that you improved. Highly recommended.

Not only it will give you extra credit in his class, but if you have appts with him... he'll tell you how to write the perfect essay for his class. Its like getting your paper review before it's due! Kind of a cross between Paul Simon, Woody Allen, and the professor from Stargate SG1. Great sense of humor, even if a little dry. He is guaranteed to clear up any writing or grammar problems you have in the most enjoyable way possible.

Professor Schneider created a passion for writing in me. English is my second language, and I wasn?t capable of writing good essays in the past. However, after taking his class, I feel like now I write better than a native speaker.

Very soft spoken teacher with a very underhanded sense of humor. It takes a sharp thinker to pick up on his jokes. This was the 3rd time I tried taking English 1A and I was NOT looking forward to it. All his essays were interesting, I got an A and by the end I had fallen in love with writing. This guy is magic!

I'm one of those people that look for the easiest teacher. Going into this class, I wasn't so sure of it. But boy was I wrong! All you have to do is keep up with all of the essays and assignments. Theres 5 essays and 4 reader responses and there's an ec journal where you can get up to 12 points and going to wac gives you 10 ec points. take him!

I havent had a teacher that would inspire me to come to class everyday to learn boring english. Makes it fun to learn. wish this professor can teach every English class on campus.

Moderate to light reading (with mandatory reader responses). Strong emphasis on critical thinking, informative lectures. Attendance is a must! Lots of extra credit opps!

I took English 52 and 300 with Pr. Schneider. I never though that English Writing is a such fun class. I was able to express my thoughts through writing my essays, and the Professor was very encouraging in my studying process. He is also very intelligent and polite as a person, as well as gifted teacher.

Prof. Schneider is the best English teacher in the universe. If anybody has reached Nirvana, it would be him. This shows in his patience and gentleness that he displays in case. He gives individual attention to every student and firmly believes that anybody can learn to be a great writer. Just take his class, already.

His expectations are clearly defined, he's extremely helpful, and the assignments are both thought-provoking and fun. He even finds a way to weave in film and photography into the coursework. You have to take English anyway, you might as well take it from someone who may actually inspire within you a love of literature and writing!

He is a great teacher that pushes you out of your comfort zone and expects your best. I have grown so much as a writer from him! I enjoy poetry now because of him. This class is an easy A if you get the concept. The lessons are easy and so as the chapter tests. Professor does a great job on teaching and have a great sense of humor along with it.

Schneider is the zen master sensei of English literature, creative writing, and grammar. I first entered his class full of bad habits in my writing picked up from grade school. Schneider guided me through my transition into writing at the college level and beyond. You must take his class. It will change your life.

Best prof at ARC hand downs. There was a total of 5 essays (also 5 reader responses) and I got an A on every single one. I was pregnant at the time I took his class. He was very helpful and understanding. I'm def going to take more English classes with him. If you need to take ENG300 take it with Schneider, seriously.

Love this guy! If you want a hilarious teacher who cares about his student, Schneider is the way to go. You do use the book a lot and he assigns a steady stream of homework and essays but he's very helpful, sweet, passionate about his craft, and really loves his students. After taking 301 with Schneider my writing has improved tremendously. The skills I learned in Schneider's class have transferred to every class I have taken and helped me become a much better student.

He assigned 5 essays. Word count min 900. We did fiction, poetry, film/drama. Gives SO MUCH Extra credit. take advantage of that. He is a stickler with Grammar and editing mistakes. Particularly DC/IC mistakes. HW is simple. Mainly reading responces. Essays are responces to what you have read also. Research paper is 1250 min words. watches movies!

I was on the verge of not passing this class because of my grammar but this professor helped me through it he did everything he can to pass me he's super cool just be ready to put in the work I enjoy this class whoever wrote bad reviews just wasn't trying Harold is awesome!

Took him this semester. Have to say one of the best professors i ever had. You will have lots of writing to do, but its 300 class so it's not bad. He gives good amount of extra credit. Whether you need WAC or no, take it. Its extra credit. Plus at this level of writing extra help and advices will always help. Very good teacher.

Professor Schneider is great. I took him this semester, and I haven't regretted it even once. For 300, you have to write 5 papers and 4 reading responses. It might sound a lot, but it is not (trust me). Moreover, the paper's topics are really interesting , self revealing, and insightful. Well, if you have to take 300, take it with Schneider!

He's really nice and very understanding. I had a doctors appointment and a surgery during my finals week so he gave me more time and was very understanding. So I'm not a fan of comp., and therefore took English last. However, words can't do justice to the character of Prof. Schneider. Exceedingly kind, helpful, and funny, he makes it not just tolerable but enjoyable. I saw incorrect postings about attendance with regards to his class, it's standard rules. He doesn't dock for 2 missed classes (maybe 8?)

This is by far, my most favorite English professor. He is very kind and nice, and he doesn't rush. I received outstanding grades. He is clear, and answers students' questions. Sweet old man.
