Absolutely great teacher. Real, down to earth and a pleasure to be in his class. Finally a prof at the U of R that is a really teacher, not those socially unfunctionaly types that haven't even been out the doors of the university...Great teacher!

Pretty good. He was very helpful, and used WebCT a lot, so you could ask questions and have answers within the day. He writes a LOT of notes, and moves through material really quickly. Overall I liked him, he's a good prof. Take his class.

He is adept at the process of teaching material so that it will stay in your head. Each lecture has a brief summary at the beginning(for last class) and at the end (for the material you just learned.) Smart guy real helpful.

This guy goes thru the material so fast...6pages of notes easily in 50 min and 5 chapters later. Midterms : STUDENTS UNION

Weger's class is FULL of notes...which is a good thing in bio 100. He goes through them like a raging bull though. If you know them, you know bio 100.

You will never encounter a prof as good as Dr.Weger at the U of R. He is an excellent instructor and has maximized his abilities to teach a huge amount of subject matter to a large number of students in a short period of time. Highly Recommended!!

Tests are easy, just know the main points. Tests are like WebCT's. He doesn't go into extreme amount of detail.

Best science prof I've had in university. Knows his stuff cold, and can actually convey knowledge very well to students. Doesn't make anything more complicated than it needs to be; explains everything clearly. Hard tests, but he prepares you for them.

Werger is a great man. Knows his stuff!Word to the wise:don't even look at what he writes on the overhead (its chickenscratch) just LISTEN and write as he talks, it will save your life. Over all GREAT prof, everything on the test is in your notes. His diagrams suck but thats what the text is for.

Weger is knows his bio!! he is so organized and his notes are exactly what you need to know for the exams. He moves quickly, so write fast. his writing is terrible, but after a while you get used to it! always willing to help students out! definitely take a class from him if you can!

There is a lot of material for this class, but Dr. Weger explains everything clearly so there are few problems. His notes are all you need to know for test purposes and if you put them in your own words (so you will understand them 3 months later) you will do great.

This guy is brilliant, it's like he has a knowledge gland excreting all this info. There's alot of info, pay attention. Write down what he says, because what he writes is just the jist of what the subjects about, use the webct bulletin board, study regularily, his notes are kind of hard to figure

He goes fast enough that you're never bored, and pay attention to the 'take home' messages, because you will see them again! I like the use of the overhead notes compared to power point. Really enjoyed learning from him and wouldn't think twice to take another one of his classes.

Easy class as well as the exams. He is very interesting to listen to and his writing is not as bad as everyone says. He also posts his notes on WEBCT incase you missed soemthing. He also answers any and all questions about the material. He makes bio fun and interesting. He's an amazing prof and i highly recommend him to anyone.

took him in Fall 2005.We didnt get webct notes but you didnt need them if u just went to class. Anyways, SMART guy, knows his stuff and is a great teacher. Always open to questions and tries to make the class interesting ie "Fuzzy Grelbers"? for hybrid crossing. yeesh. lol. Cool class very interesting. Beware of the boring and pointless labs!

His classes are hard but they are higher level bios so that is to be expected. He is super hot and really funny. You will learn tons in his class and he will force you to participate but in a good way. In 366 you have to do a presentation for 20 min but he makes it really unintimidatng and he gives everyone 100 on the presentation. Brilliant guy

This teacher is AMAZING - He teaches using an overhead... crazy writing, however, what he writes is exactly what you need to know for exams. He answers all questions on WebCT and can be frickin hilarious at times. His explanations are very clear and if you memorize your notes, you'll do great.

Good prof for an alright class. Seems to understand his stuff. Since he writes all his notes by hand on the overhead you're never going too fast or too slow. Go to class just in case you cant read his posted lecture's handwriting. Dont bother buying the textbook. I bought a used one and havent opened it. Tests had fair questions on them.

HARDEST CLASS EVER..he was better than Brigham...write down exactly what he says and writes you'll be okay.. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU DON'T HAVE TOO! midterms and final super hard! when in this class not knowing chem 30 would have been useful..take bio 140 or 150 instead..

Come to every class, take down ALL of his notes (and there's an ass load) and you'll do fine. This course is rank for amount of stuff covered. So be there every day. He's quirky funny, but it's hard to laugh when your busting out notes.

Weger is a gem. As long as you attend class daily and somewhat listen and copy notes down, you will do great. I could hear his voice in my head telling me the answers on the midterm and final because he explained everything so clearly. Would take plant phys from him because he is so great even though I dislike plants.

I only had him for half of my BIO 100 class, and he taught the material extremely well. He is very enjoyable, def recommend.

When I met with Dr. Weger, prior to the start of my first semester after many years away, he advised me that this was indeed a difficult course. He was absolutley correct. But even though the course was tough, Dr. Weger -imho- made it completely bearable. He is charming, funny, informative and thorough. Would take a class taught by him anytime!

I adored Harold Weger. I didn't use the textbook at all because he explained everything perfectly. His written notes were a little sparse, so I just copied what he said and did awesome. Tests are very fair. He has a great sense of humour and is just adorable. I'm sad that he isn't teaching my bio course next semester.

Great class! Material is mostly Biology 20 & 30 review. It's easy to tell what he'll put on tests and his miderms were easy. The final was pretty easy too. Very interesting speaker. Id definitely take a class from him again!

Great class. Explains things in an easy to understand way and mostly builds on high school bio. Marked on 2 midterms, the lab section and the final.

Dr. Weger is an excellent prof. He writes the notes electronically during lectures and posts them online, making studying much easier. Midterms and finals were very fair. Very helpful outside of class. He writes his notes in point form, so be sure to expand on his jot notes as he talks through it in lecture, or it won't make sense later.

How many profs that can give you a lecture without any notes and slides? He is definitly a great prof. Hand writing notes, if you can't follow, you can read his summary sheet online. He is a very funny guy, and you have to study hard in his class.

Went into the first midterm, thought I slayed it. Ended up with a 58. Went to go talk to him, didn't really give me much help. I figured I guess i'll just write as much as possible next time. Which is what I did, and received a 92 on the following midterm. He just shreds notes the whole class, it can be exhausting. Use his online important topics.

Wonderful prof! Only things that are mentioned in lecture are testable, and his midterm questions are very reasonable. He's very clear with his explanations, and if you need any more clarification, his additional notes on UR Courses are great too. I would definitely take another course with Dr. Weger if I got the chance.

RECOMMEND! I don't think i opened my textbook once because Harold is so knowledgeable and explains everything so well in his lectures! YOU DO HAVE TO STUDY FOR THE EXAMS! (but did you really think you could get though uni without studying?!) I hope i have the opportunity to take more classes from Harold.

Tests are all form his notes that he writes out in class. His tests are all short answer,and are on random specifics,or require you to piece together things that his notes don't.Not my favorite prof,but he is a helpful man when you ask about things.His best lecture all year was when the guest lecturer didn't show up and Weger taught from memory.

Man, best prof for me this semester. His lectures were excellent down to even his not-so-great drawings. Loved his examples and how he always repeated the most important points- the "take-home-messages" were very obvious for exams! I hope my next Biology profs are as amazing as Dr. Weger.

A great lecturer. Quiz yourself every week. Diagrams important. If you don't do well in bio100, reconsider your interests. Although biol100 is mostly a review, you shouldn't rely on high school knowledge and work hard to get the best marks possible because it gets harder later on. Embrace Weger it's as good as it getsat the U of R. Prepare for labs

Total expert in the subject. Lectures were pretty fast paced so you have to pay attention when taking notes, even though the subject is dry. All notes are on the board so you have to attend class. Assignments and exams were very fair. Lab was marked way harder then the class. Barely used the textbook.

Weger generated notes as he lectured, and posted them afterwards. MAKE sure to expand on his notes in class! it helps for studying afterwards. There was no sidetracking, and all his notes were relevant to the certain topic. He did tend to draw and talk fast. Nice Guy, definitely obvious that he is passionate about biology.

The material in this class is not easy. I would suggest reviewing each week. Interesting way of lecturing generating the notes during the class but make sure you expand so you actually understand. I used the textbook tons during his sections with topics and things I was unsure about saved my butt. Final wasn't too bad.

Whenever i ask him about future things and guidance with what courses should i take to become this or that, he is always there ready to give helpful infos even he thinks hes not helpful:) love him.

Dr. Weger is incredible. He pretty much solidified my passion for biology! I am for sure taking my 101 and any 200 level classes I can with him. He makes you feel very welcome and he is very passionate and knowledgable. His notes are hard to read in class but he goes through afterwards and types them all out and puts them on URcourses dedication.

Dr. Weger is probably the best prof you could have for biology! The class is not easy but he definitely is very clear in his lectures and starts every class with a quick summary of previous day notes. He gives clear answers to any questions especially on UR Courses, he answers fairly quickly! Would recommend!!!

Dr. Weger is a great lecturer and will make you laugh. Im not a Biology person but I actually enjoyed being in his class. Awesome at answering any questions you have on the forum, and fairly fast. His posted pdf's are also really helpful for any topics you need clarification or detail for!

Pretty good prof. Posts all of his notes online. I still came to all of his classes but they sometimes got boring. His writing is pretty bad, but if you are a messy writer yourself (like myself) you can usually read it. He seems like a good guy. his midterms were fair, not as hard as I imagined. The online forum for questions was a great help. He was always answering whatever questions he could. Prepare to write down a novel every lecture. His writing is messy but he usually annotates his notes with type when he posts them online. Lectures don't seem very long because everything is fast-paced.

One of the best profs. to the point where you're surprised that a place like regina can offer someone like this guy. genuinely cares for his students, and his subject. this class was a lot of memorizing but he balanced that by having all the exams multiple choice, reusing old questions, and always available for clarification. GONNA MISS YOU!

Weger is super funny in a dad joke sort of way. I think he sometimes strays from his lecture plan but we always get the information. He is clearly passionate about bio so hes very easy to listen to, class goes by fast. Definitely a 10/10 for Weger and his fuzzy grelbers.

Dr Weger is the best professor for Plant Physiology. He is extremely knowledgeable, cares about the students doing well, is available before and after the lecture and office hours, and he can be funny. I credit him for giving me an appreciation for plants and understanding photosynthesis

Don't waste your money buying the textbook. Everything you need to know for the tests are in the lecture notes so just show up to class. Do not leave studying for the last minute or you won't do well. If you study hard you can do well in this class. Sometimes the lectures are not well organized but if you take all the notes, you'll do fine.

One of the best Bio profs in the university, I have had him for 3 classes so far. very fair grader, but attendance is a MUST and you have to be able to take good notes beyond what he writes on the board. Dr. Weger definitely knows his stuff about plants, and is fairly decent at teaching about it

Accessible outside of class but his lecture notes can be confusing without the lecture. Only tested on material covered in the lectures. Tricky multiple choices questions. Uses URCOURSES successfully to answer any questions you have and provide abundance of resources including practice quizzes, lecture notes, additional notes and online textbook.

Throughout 9 years of university of moving on the U of Sask, Harold Weger remains as on of the best professors I had (and Ive had many).

He writes his notes during lecture super fast so if you're a fast writer/typer you'll be fine. He does post them after his lectures though in case you miss anything. Harold is a real gem! Had him for several courses now and he's by far my favourite prof. He writes his notes on the board so it's fairly easy to keep up. He is the best professor if you are gonna opt for any Biology class. This man is not just hilarious but the best in his way of interacting with students and knowledge. You can pass his class if you attend it regularly or just refer to the ppt slides. His way of teaching is lively and really good. I loved to have him as a prof!

Weger is an absolute gem. He really knows what he's talking about and he manages to explain to you what you need to know without boring you to death. I was freaked out that your entire grade for this class depended on 2 midterms and a final but his test study guides are pretty much exactly what will be on the exam. He cares about your success

Weger is great, his pronunciation of certain words is a little weird sometimes but he writes everything down so you'll still get the info. Do the practice quizzes before your exams and you should be fine. His personality makes lectures much more enjoyable

He was definitely my favourite prof this semester. It was a learning curve for all of us this semester, and was great seeing that the students weren't the only ones learning. He had some difficulties with the tech for it, but 100% didn't give up, and didn't make us suffer because of it. Thank you Professor Weger!

A bit monotone and just reads off slides. Easy to understand what is happening, but it is pretty boring to read everything he is saying. Tests were fairly simple, really nice prof, but just boring.

He is a fairly decent prof for BIOL100, especially since most of what you learn in this class is from Biology 30. His slides have a bunch of stuff on them, but he usually spends a decent amount of time on his slides, so you could get most of the stuff down. Overall, he's quite helpful.

Harold is one of the best profs at the UofR, his lectures are easy to understand and all of the notes are posted. His tests are all based on his lecture notes, no surprises. Wish more profs were like him. 10/10 would take again.

Weger is a pretty solid prof for biol 100, nothing special although he gets the job done. His lectures are essentially reading off the PowerPoint and if you spend enough time looking at the notes the class is essentially bio 30.

Dr. Weger is a good prof, his exams are not too hard and reflect what he has taught. He does basically just read off of PowerPoints but I don't mind. Lots of notes.

Dr. Weger is very knowledgable in the contents of this course (plant physiology). He always just reads directly from his powerpoint slides, with little extra information that isn't on them. Attendance isn't mandatory which was nice for a student with heavy course load. He is respectful, nice, and I would recommend taking this prof.

He was really nice and tried to keep lectures interesting, self study quizzes helped a lot and he provided lots of other resources too. The class is just hard in general no matter who teacher it but him and the other two profs were super professional, reachable and well organized it made all the tough content feel easier to deal with.

Provides a great amount of detail in his slides. Makes his lectures very interesting, and he is very funny. Even though he reads off his slides he EXPLAINS each point in a way that makes sense. Super approachable and is willing to meet with you to get clarification about topics.

Prof's lectures were basically what were in his slides and his slides were very detailed, I did not even use the recommended textbook for his section of the course. I only read his slides and some notes I took from lectures. It's bio so there's a lot to cover. If you read the materials, then you're good to go.

Make sure you practice whatever questions he posts on UR courses. Just read his slides and you shall pass the class. His slides are literally in form of notes so he basically just reads off the slides because every explanations is on the slide already. He posts so many slides and you will feel overwhelmed by it but his slides are fun to read.

Overall good prof. He pretty much just reads off the sides, but he's not bad by any means. His slides are great, and his exams are fair! Seems like a nice guy.

The lecture slides that he provided were excellent, the lectures were a touch boring because he just read from the slides but the information was still interesting. Gives practice quizzes before midterms which were very similar to the actual tests and made studying easier!

Bless his soul. The content in this class is absolutely insane.... he could've done us so dirty with the tests, but instead he made our lives significantly easier. He's genuinely just a really nice guy too

Prof Weger's lectures are detailed and engaging. While the course covers a lot, his slides and self-study quizzes were very helpful. unstuck study also proved useful for prep. Attend class, utilize resources, and you'll do well.

Awesome Guy. Reads off of the lecture slide but makes the topics easy to understand. Would easily take him again, and if you actually try in the class you will do well.

I love this man!!!! so nice and really knew what he was talking about. tests were fairly easy if you put effort into studying. He wasn't trying to trick you and provides practice multiple choice questions that were very similar to the ones on the exams. would definitely recommend!

Loved this course! He is a great lecturer, never needed clarification as his slideshows gave all the info needed for tests. You have to study a lot, but his slides make it relatively simple. Hes also a super funny guy and makes very fair midterms and finals.

While BIOL100 has a lot of content, Dr. Weger made it a relatively simple course. He provides self-study quizzes that are near identical to parts of the tests. Lectures are a bit boring. However, his slideshows are so detailed that you almost don't need to bother showing up to lecture because everything he says is on them!

He was very kind!!! I enjoyed his lectures and his tests were very manageable if you put in the work!

Thorughly enjoyed taking Biology 100 with Professor Weger, he is a funny guy who is very easy to reach out to if you have questions. Practice tests are identical to actual tests, and there was no required textbook. Overall had a really good experience.

Professor Weger was a good prof, he just reads off of slides but the slides are very informative. Going to class makes all the difference, no matter how tempting it is to skip

Such a good professor! His lecture slides are very detailed and he thoroughly explains them in lecture, you can tell he is truly passionate about biology and teaching!

Dr. Weger has very comprehensive slides. As long as you know everything on the slides you're good. Though this does not mean this course is easy, it is content heavy and it piles up. Might help to attend classes. Overall I would say he is a good lecturer.

He reads off the slides, which makes it feel like going to class is pointless since you can just read them on your own time. However, his PowerPoint slides are detailed, so they're helpful when it comes to exams. He also made practice quizzes that are very similar to the multiple-choice portion of the midterms.

Knows his stuff and is very kind, but lectures can be content-heavy and a bit disorganized, and the class can feel boring at times. The practice multiple-choice questions he provides are extremely helpful and very similar to those on the midterms and final, so spending time on those is key for easy MC marks.
