Some one please rate thinking of taking this professor please advise
Dr. M is a FABULOUS chemistry teacher. Hybrid class. She bends over backwards to help you understand material. Have to do the work. Easy going but serious - don't abuse the easy going part. You will really enjoy her class if you have a good attitude and want to learn! You won't regret taking her.
She is the most awesom professor. Smart and caring!! She has a very open office policy and urges anyone needing help to visit her. The class was mandatory for me and I really had very little interest and I took the hybrid, but made a B. She is funny and just very approachable. She will teach you even if you think you can't learn. A+++ Professor!
Great professor. I was dreading this class but she did an excellent job. Great lectures. She can be understanding, but she is also very strict. I took her hybrid course which I don't really recommend ONLY because you don't get the lectures, but she gives you an opportunity to sit in on her other classes lectures. Excellent teacher! :)
Great professor. I was dreading this class but she did an excellent job. Great lectures. She can be understanding, but she is also very strict. I took her hybrid course which I don't really recommend ONLY because you don't get the lectures, but she even gives you an opportunity to sit in on her other classes lectures. Excellent teacher! :)
Great professor! Extremely helpful. Excellent at making you understand. I would DEFINITELY recommend her.
CHM1025c - Overall a great teacher. Attendance was not mandatory but I suspect that will change as hardly anyone showed up regularly. As long as you attend lectures, read the chapters, and complete the labs you'll do fine! She has no problem explaining anything to you if you have any issues.
She's fantastic...she'll bend over backwards to help you pass. You just have to do the work. A+ teacher.
this professor is so good it is a guarantee that you will pass her class. you have to do her work though...all tests are mutiple choice...study and you are sure to pass
Take her if you need help with chemistry. This was a hybrid class so you're supposed to learn the material yourself. However, after the labs she goes over the material. Labs, homework, and 4 tests (lowest grade dropped) and no final if you average an A. If you attend and study, you should get an A.
I took Dr. M for Organic Chemistry 1. She is by far the best organic chem professor at FSCJ. She is a really nice woman. Does a great job at explaining the material. I took her 12 week course. We had 3 tests and a final. Final replaced lowest test grade.
She's a really great teacher!Even hybrid you'll learn a lot from her!
I just finished my final today in this class and she gets an A+++ from me. She can sound a tough when it gets towards the end of the semester, but as long as you are keeping up with your work and making an effort there is no excuse to not get an A. 4 exams, lowest exam grade dropped, all multiple choice. Great class and great professor.
Just finished up her class, it was a hybrid and I have no complaints. She is very funny and class is very laid back but you must do your work as well as study for the exams. Highly recommend this professor. If you study and do your assignments you will pass with no problem.
This was not my best subject, but if I have to THANK Dr. M for her patience and assistance through the semester. All multiple choice tests, study and do the homework.
The hybrid class is great - but you need to the work. If you come to class and follow her study guides, you will definitely earn an A. Professor is very nice and very helpful. She will take the time to explain things during office hours, via email, etc. Highly recommend!
Professor Malhotra is amazing! She is a really sweet lady and really tries to help you with labs and homework. Homework is all done online through Connect and counts for a good portion of your grade. She gives study guides for the tests too. I would def recommend her.
Very hard subject, but I made an A because I studied very hard for 16 weeks straight. Passing is manageable but if you want an A take it seriously! She's very willing to help. Do all your labs and homework.Read the book until you understand!! & pay attention in class. Don't miss class, it's very important. No t many students in my class made an A.
Excellent professor, I can't say enogh good things about her. She has SO many resources for the students to suceed in this class, it's incdible. All her lectures are recorded so you can listen to them as many times as you need to, and the homework is online, and there's hints and examples ifyou need them for each question, and several attempts.
hard class. great teacher.
Excellent teacher. Plenty resources but you have to take the time and do the work. Makes herself available to students who need extra help. Not sure if she is going to be teaching this course in the future but know that you will be well served taking any of her courses. Thank you Dr. M, you made a difference in my life.
Dr.M is a awesome professor. You have to really not do anything to fail her class.. Very Clear about what she wants. Plus She gives you Apple Smiley Faces that add up at the end... I recommend her for All Chemistry She teaches.
This was a hybrid class. Dr. M was very helpful and very organized. If your not willing to study and do the assignments don't bother! Dr. M does everything she can to help you understand the material. It had been 8 years since I finished my last degree, so this subject material was a little hard for me but I got an A! Thank you, Dr. M :)
This was a hybrid class, yet, Dr. M. gives you the study guide to follow so you can grasp it. It is fast paced, being a hybrid class sometimes it was hard for me to follow; do the on-line homework in advanced and this will help you to stay ahead of the concepts for the test. Thank you Dr. M. =)
Excellent professor, very organized and thorough. I took it as a hybrid class- stay on top of the reading and HW or you will drown. I got an A with plenty of effort and a weekly study group. She makes chemistry interesting and enjoyable.
Dr.M is a great teacher who helps you understand chemistry. All HW online. Has lectures online. Tests she allows one side of a note card. Pass the four tests you are exempt from the final. Tests are easy if you understand the material. Study/HW time appx 4 hours per week. I passed with an A. I would recommend her.
Dr. M is super awesome! I took the hybrid class and got a B. Definitely have to study for the exams and she drops lowest grade on them. Organized and easy to work with. Makes taking chemistry more enjoyable and doable. She will help you whenever you need it. I highly recommend her!
I took this class as a hybrid, and still ended up getting a B. Even though I barely did my hw online. Just do everything you're supposed to and you'll get a good grade. Her study guides are really helpful and she really cares about her students grades. Plus you get so many extra credit opportunities!
Dr M is great! She is very informative and really wants all of her students to do good. She gives tons of extra credit opportunities. I took the hybrid lecture and in class lab and you really need to stay on top of your reading but she gives study guides of EVERYTHING that will be on exam and you can use a onesided note card. I got an A+.
I found the tests and HW questions to be hard, but I don't think that is her fault, because she is a great teacher :) Experiments were interesting/pretty easy, study guides/PPT's were helpful, gives a decent amount of extra credit opportunities- take them to give you a cushion for your grade. She really makes an effort to help you learn Chemistry.
Nice person, but can be rude at times and tends to rush you. This was a hybrid class that I would not recommend. She provides lots of resources, such as, YouTube videos and PowerPoint presentations, she encourages you to use them but never asks if they are helpful, which they were NOT. She does allow a note card to be used on each test.
Hybrid course -provided resources such as youtube, powerpoints and study guides online but were not very helpful. Only used class time for exp. and testing -1 side of a note card allowed for each exam but she doesn't give you any direction. There are 3 chaps being tested at a time. Nice lady but seemed to think we should know everything coming in
Prof M is AWESOME!!! You get a one sided note card for each test. You get study guides with q's similar to the test. She has an accent but it's bearable. Her hybrid class was easy with labs there, but hw online was slightly tedious. You get the answers for the hw though. She gives you so much xtra that you don't even need to buy the book. Take her!
Please don't take this professor. I went into the class thinking she would be able to help me understand the material and pass the class. She is not interested in teaching in a hybrid class and always refers you back to the videos (which don't help) she has on Blackboard. Her tests are overwhelming and not passable unless you are a chemistry major.
Wonderful professor, provides enough resources to succeed in the class unless you are a brat and just there to complain.
I really liked her class and will strongly recommend taking her.
I got C in her class but that's not her fault. With two jobs, I hardly got the time to study. But she helped me as much as she can so that I can pass the class. I am taking her for CHM 2046c in spring.
I'm a little surprised to see so many positive review for Dr. Malhotra. She comes across as very rude and does not understand why you do not understand the material the class is on. Not very helpful in explaining problems to you. If you just need chemistry to just get into a specific program seriously consider finding another professor.
This teacher does not prepare you for upper level classes. I was lost once I got to CHM2045. Lab was a mess because she was unprepared. People rating her high are just happy with their easy A.
Great professor, very helpful
I took this class online because at the time I did not have a car to go to school. Online classes are not for me specially when math is involved. There are never discussions. Homework and quizzes are hard. I wouldn't take this class with this professor.
She is awesome. I took a hybrid class and still learned a lot but didn't give us to much work. She definitely understands that as a college student we get overwhelmed and gives you opportunities to make things up. Answers emails immediately and really gets students involved in the lectures. She does have an accent but it isn't hard to understand.
This professor was not interactive. Be prepared to work on your own & research answers on your own. There are quizzes & assignments every week, the book was little help to me on either of these. There are no discussions, no feedback on assignments, no lectures. Be sure to do the extra credit provided.
This class was not that hard. I was afraid of taking online chemistry class but it was not that bad. Very clear directions and professor was very fast in replying emails. She was very understanding. She gave me extension for some of the home works and quizzes because I was not able to finish it at time due to family problems. Extra credit helps.
Great professor, I really liked her. She was very helpful and provided a lot of resources to succeed in the class.
Professor Malhotra is amazing! She is so nice and if you don't understand something you can stay after class or visit her during her office hours and she'll go into great detail. I'm taking her again this fall for Chem 1. She offers some extra credit throughout the semester.
Im taking an online class and since week 2, nothing has been posted to our class as far as course materials. Ive emailed with questions and asked for a detailed explanation and got a 1 sentence reply. Im carrying a B in the class so this review is not a result of a bitter student with a poor grade. Prepare to teach yourself if you take it online.
homework: not too long 10 to 15 questions. Quizzes: 10 questions Midterm and Final 20 questions. Homework is through mastering so you have up to 5 times to get right answer although points deducted each one. Homework is detailed, need to watch her videos/read book/ get help, but 10 Q's(not bad) Quizzes are EASY!-google answers. Easy for online!!
Does not teach whatsoever. You spend all of your time doing lab work that is not relevant to the tests. Her videos do not help and nor does her study guides. I would never retake this class again.
I took her for intro to chem and thought she was a great teacher, I just took her for chem 1 and she was HORRIBLE. Doesn't give study guides "you aren't babies anymore" & she can't explain anything. She brings drama to the classroom. If you take her class good luck, you'll need it. Pissed off 3.86 GPA student who just made a B-_-
She was awesome, taking her for intro to Chem. In high school I passed chem with a D and in this class i have an A and even considered switching my major from Bio to Chem if that tells you anything. Tests are 20-25 questions but you are allowed a one sided note card. Videos are your key for what to put on note card. Wish she taught chem 1&2.
She gives a a lot of chances for extra credit (learnsmart and "Apple smiley faces"), she also gives you videos of how to do everything and the study guides are exactly like the tests so if you do them you'll do fine on the test. The class I took was hybrid (half online, half in class) so you had to come to the one class weekly.
My class was a HYBRID course; homework/labs weekly. Quizzes and tests are straight forward. I struggled in this class, as I am not one to self teach. The younger students (recent HS grads) caught on faster and had no issues. Prof M is very passionate about Chemistry and wants you to be too; be prepared to put in the work or you will fail.
I took her as a hybrid class. She does not teach but there are videos that she prepares online on blackboard. She drops your lowest tests/ quiz grade. All homework is extra credit, and to be honest doing the homework helps you out, even though it doesn't seem like it when your doing it. You can use "helping card"/study from study guide is a HELP!
Dr. Malhotra is a great professor! I had no interest in chemistry entering the class but as the semester went on I gained a new appreciation for Chem. Dr. Malhotra makes the class worth taking. She gives great instruction and makes/helps you to learn the material. I would definitely take the class again.
This professor is hilarious. She is always making jokes and making everyone laugh. She is a great professor! Tough grader, but she does offer extra credit for class participation. 4 exams, 1 final and she drops the lowest test of the 4 to help out. Always offers help! I would take her again if I could.
-4 exams -3 lab quizzes -final -if you make all A's on the exams or have a 90% average on all your exams your exempt from the final -hw is online ch 1-10 -pre-labs and procedures due before the lab -offers extra credit by participation in class and for additional hw questions
I really enjoyed this class. I don't need CHM 2046C class for my major otherwise I would have taken it with her. She loves teaching and care about her students' success.
She is a good professor but she 's tough on grading. She will help you understand what's on the test if you are confused or need help. She is hilarious.
Took her for chem1032c, great professor. Gives study guides for all exams, as well as helpful pre recorded study guides for each one. He the study guide and you'll do fine on exams. Really fun , and you can tel she really enjoys chemistry and teaching. Would reccomend.
This teacher was awesome! She was hilarious and actually had students engaging to learn, people who did not do well pretty much did not even try, or would not listen to her speak. Just pay attention when she is talking and take down notes and you can pass this class. Don't be ignorant and ask the same thing when she has said it already.
Dr. M is an awesome instructor. She is a very positive person and basically a comedian. Show up for the lab days during the hybrid course, labs are easy and she is very helpful. She gives study guides and instructional videos for each chapter to help you study for the test. Make sure you pay attention to what she says.
She can be nice and funny, but can also be aggressive and bring drama. Some days, I felt like the whole class was walking on eggshells. I would get anxiety thinking about going to class . I used to love Chemistry, she totally ruined it for me. Pros include index card for tests, HW is useful, videos and other resources provided are very helpful.
If you have self-discipline, good study skills and are motivated you will do fine otherwise do not take her online class. You're almost on your own. No discussions or interactions after wk1. MasteringChemistry is required for HW and tests. Slow to respond, and not directly helpful. The resources through Pearson and the school were a huge help.
I just finished taking her CHM 1020 online class. An easy "A" if you watch her videos on the blackboard before doing your homework or quizzes. She replies emails very quick and very supportive.
I really enjoyed Professor M! She is very nice, & understanding. She follows a PowerPoint for the lectures. Sometimes they're long; she gives breaks. Pre-labs are due the day of lab, no post lab, but lab quizzes. Labs were sometimes confusing but she was always willing to explain. Homework is online. It is very useful to help study for the tests.
She's an amazing teacher. I drove 45mn to take her class and got an "A," yet about 1/3 of the class dropped it too. You must attend class, watch her videos before coming to class (extra credit for answering in class), ****practice the study guides****, and really stay after class if you don't understand something, you will not regret it.
She assigns a lot of work. However, if you do all the required material you will pass. Do the extra credit and you are almost sure to get an "A". Syllabus is laid out well, with clear due dates. I took the hybrid version, great choice! I wish there was a professor like her, with material similar to what she uses, that teaches Physics.
I took it online and it was not bad. Chemistry has more math than I thought. Homework is challenging but quizzes make up for it. You will learn a lot. A good class to take with A&P 1 or 2. She responds quickly for questions. I would definitely take her again.
She will single you out if you are not an A student. She will embarrass you in class, if you ask her how to do something she will tell you to google. Unless you already know Chem I would not suggest this class. She is a good teacher if you make a good grade on everything she then will have favor on you. She also does not speak english well.
Wonderful Professor! I learnt a lot in this class. If you are looking for an easy "A" without working hard, then don't take this class. But if you are really interested in learning instead of complaining, then she will always be there to help you. Extra credits, recorded videos and study guides help a lot.
I love this professor! She seems very strict but cares a lot about her students' success. She provides recorded videos, powerpoint, four mini tests with two drops, mid term and final exam. She is very helpful with the lab part.
online class no extra credit, her videos are often hard to understand b/c handwriting, her accent, and the scratching on the microphone. She stated no notes/books for final and it was allowed when I logged in to take exam. Allow a lot of time for homework as quizzes are timed (too little) take a lot of notes, quizlet was no help
Very helpful professor, her recorded videos saved my life. She answers emails very quickly and understandable.
I really enjoyed her class. She is so passionate about Chemistry. I will be definitely taking Gen Chem I class with her even if I have to wait for a year. She teaches Gen Chm I in fall and gen chem II in spring. Take her if you want to learn Chemistry, you won't regret it.
I took it online, paid extra to take final as required, stated no notes or book but found out as I logged in it could be used. Her videos stink as they are hard to understand, handwriting is hard to read. I used google more, thankful i wrote in book so I had some notes for final, not enough time for tests/quiz
I learnt a lot in this class. She is very passionate about teaching. She responds email very quickly. I will be taking her again in spring.
She is very passionate about teaching. She does not teach CHM 2045C in the Fall. I will wait for the whole year to take her class in Fall. She responds email very quickly. Make sure you pay full attention in the class and don't miss her lectures.
I love this professor. She is very passionate about teaching and cares about her students' success. I will be taking all my Chemistry classes with her. In fact, I feel like taking more Chemistry classes now since I have started enjoying this subject.
Took her for chem1020 online class, great professor. She provides recorded videos, lecture material and practice questions on the blackboard. Drops two lowest homeworks and curved the final grade with extra 70 points. She replies emails very quickly Would highly reccomend.
I have always done bad in chem but pro M will teach in a way that helps you understand and she'll help you if you ask her. she's understanding and patient. She allows a notecard for the 2 in class exams which are multiple choice. 4 mini exams and she drops the 2 lowest scores and homework for 10 chapters along with ex credit. I was in the hybrid
Dr M is the best! She likes participation & gives extra credit for it. She can relate Chem to real life to better understand & is very available to answer ?'s. Exams are multiple choice, but don't be fooled, they're tough. She will tell you exactly what to study though. Use quizzes, prelabs, and slides as study guides. Allows index card for exam
I took her online 8 week class. Do the homework, the discussions, the extra credit, and there is no reason you won't have a A. She responds to emails quickly. Her videos are pretty horrendous but YouTube has plenty you can view instead. She gives you everything you need for an A, use the resources.
If you're looking to take CHM1020, choose Prof. Malhotra. I took her online 8 week class. Do the discussions, the homework, and the extra credit for sure. Her videos are harder to understand, but she has other videos from youtube that makes the content super easy to understand. Do the work and there is no reason not to get an "A" in this class.
Dr. Malhotra is the best professor I have had while at FSCJ. She is very passionate about teaching and wants her students to succeed. I have taken three courses from her so far, but this was the hardest course I have ever taken during my college career, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I would highly recommend this professor to any student.
Great professor I took her for 1020 online!!!
Dr M is the best professor Ive had. Organic Chem is a difficult subject, but she is very organized and if you participate and are clearly trying, she will do all she can to help you understand the material. She encourages questions in class, offers lots of opportunities for extra credit and gives good exam prep instructions. Avg amt of homework.
no extra credit she doesnot upload the blackboard till the end. it will say a completly different overall grade then the syllabus so is hard to tell what your grade is. if you plan to fail take her.
I would not take this course online if you don't have a chem. foundation from HS. If you like to read a lot and watch videos take this class online. Otherwise I hear she is better in-class professor. The final exam was difficult and proctored. She allows 1 page of notes. You will need all the formulas and random stuff not memorized.
Professor is GOOD, She explains very well and you do get extra credit for each chapter. Her syllabus is clear as to what to expect and she reminds you every class whats due by the end of the week. She is hilarious, tells lots a jokes. Her exams are hard but study hard and you will make it. Pay attention to her videos, as they will help w/ exam.
Great teacher!
Best teacher I have ever had at FSCJ. I was very nervous to take this class but she gives you all the resources you need. I heard about her through word of mouth and even drove an hour out of my way to take this course with her. Best decision I have ever made! Take the class, you wont be disappointed.
The pearson mastering can be a little difficult, but for the most part it was manageable. You have one homework assignment a week, four tests, 2 discussion boards, and a proctored final. Easy course.
I took this class online, so basically i took the class with pearson. the only positive thing about online is that you can go at your own pace. if you can teach yourself very difficult chemistry math by all means take this course. otherwise, get ready to teach yourself. she says she has resource to help you but its really a few you tube videos.
Took Dr. Malhotra during the Summer 2019 semester (16 week course). 14 HWs, 4 progress exams, 2 DBs, and 1 proctored exam. The book she assigns is well-written and easy to understand, so teaching myself the basics of Chemistry was a breeze with her. Look out for an extra credit opportunity! Overall, easy A and I highly recommend Dr. Malhotra.
She was an awesome chem teacher! You have a midterm and a final, if you study the study guide she gives you online you will be fine. I took a hybrid class, so I only had her for one day. The labs are fun and easy if you have a good partner! There is a lot of extra credit so be happy and try and get 'em. She made me enjoy chem!
I took her class online. She responds to E-mails quickly. Everything was done on Pearson. Grading adds up by the homework. So make sure you get good points weekly. One proctored test only. It was very manageable and made it easy for everyone. I'm out of school forever. But I was able to pass.
I am not the type of person to base how I feel about a professor just because I got a bad grade in the class, but this professor is the worst prof I have ever had. She was extremely rude to students who asked questioned during the conferences. I had to take this online because of covid and the whole class experience was horrible. Do not take her!
I took this class online and In all my college experiences, this has to be the worst. First complaint, during her mandatory lectures if she ask even the most simple questions she doesnt move on until all students give her a response. Second, her work load is ridiculous, it is not hard but time consuming. Third, prerecorded videos for her lectures!
Professor Malhotra is amazing ; she sounds really tough but she cares and wants students to learn the material. She gives a lot of extra credits and participation points. Take her if you want to learn; don't take her if you want an easy A. She responds to emails very quickly.
Great Professor! I learnt a lot in her class. She provides extra credit assignments and answers email quickly.
Intro to Chem was hard. She takes attendance for her online class. "participation" points for the few who answer her questions first. Don't count on it though. Hard midterm and even harder final. Nice lady in person. Extra credit project was easy. Didn't like the structure of the class. watch videos BEFORE each class
I took Professor M. last semester and it was pleasant. The materials are provided in order for you to succeed. She wants for every student to get a grasp on what is being taught. She responds to emails quickly and offers ample extra credit. Watch the prerecorded lectures before class and be sure to participate! I highly recommend this Professor!
This class is absolutely horrible. Every homework assignment is worth nothing more than 20 points . Then there is ONE exam which is worth 125 points. Basically if you fail the exam you fail the class there is no way around it. The professor obviously does not know how to efficiently use an online platform and fails to efficiently teach her students
Absolute joke of a class. All of the lectures are pre-recorded and make zero sense. The homework assignments are tedious and will take hours. If you fail a test you fail the class because of how little the homework is worth. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the online lectures are pre-recorded. She makes you rewatch them in live lesson then she will go back and pause and ask the student pop questions. Only the top 3 students who answer first on lecture get points to earn extra credit so you have to be an extremely fast typer. Test are weighted VERY heavy and homework is worth barely anything.
Great professor! She encourages students to participate in the class. I was horrible in Chemistry at high school and was scared to take this class but Dr. M made it easy. She responses to emails very quickly. She pushes the students to learn the material. If you are looking for an easy "A" without doing any work, then this class is not for you.
Dr. M is the best professor I've ever had. Provides plenty of extra credit opportunities, makes sure everyone understands material before moves on, responds to emails very quickly
Dr. M is an awesome professor!! You can earn many extra credit points if you participate in class. No lab material required and final exam is not proctored. Definitely recommend her!
If you are looking for an easy "A", then don't take this professor. She wants students to learn and she is strict with the due dates of the assignments. You can easily tell that she enjoys teaching.
I really enjoyed Dr. M's class! She cares about her students actually understanding the material and makes herself available for questions. Make sure to complete all work and participate in class; this will really help your grade, especially if you struggle with tests. She was generous with extra credit points too. 10/10 would recommend.
Professor M was one of the best teachers ive had in FSCJ. She is such a nice, caring professor who really enjoys what she does. I loved the class and cannot thank her enough for what she has done for me.
Doctor M was incredible; she is a wonderful professor who is very caring. Always ready to assist you with any doubts or questions you may have. However, this is a quid pro quo situation; if you are unwilling to work hard or show any interest in the class, you should dismiss her course.
Loved this class! Dr. M cares about her students and is willing to help those who are ready to put effort. It is not an easy A class but you will definitely learn Chemistry. Show up for the class, participate, complete assignments on time and you would be fine.
I took Dr. Malhotra's evening class. I love the way she teaches Chemistry and her real-life examples make it even easier. She is strict about due dates and provides extra points if you complete all the assignments by the deadline. If you attend her lectures and ask questions, there is no way you can fail this class.
It's best to show up, so she can make sure that you understand the class. Lab coat needed Weekly homework . It's easier to watch her video before you do any homework using smarbook included in your tuition. Extra credit for attendance and answering question. 3 test: 2 in class and 1 at Home. 1 practice test exactly the same as each test. Easy PZ
Dr.M is one of the best around , I don't mean just as a professor but also a person. She is sweet , caring, understanding , respectful , helpful , hilarious , fair , generous etc. I wish I could write 2000 words on how great she is. Grading scale super clear, never belittles for asking any question. A true professional , the best type of professor
Love this professor! I was afraid of taking Chemistry but now I want to take more chemistry classes. She is strict about the due dates of the assignments because she wants you to finish them on time and do good in tests. Her practice tests are very similar to actual tests and she gives extra credits to students who participate in the class.
3 Test. 2 in person and 1 online. She gives practice tests of the actual test and that's what helped me get an A. I wrote everything on my cheat sheet. Accent is heavy, & she's funny but sometimes seemed upset or unapproachable. A lot of homework. Attendance is mandatory! you have to put in the work! ton of extra credit, take advantage!
I loved this class and I loved her passion for teaching. She sounds strict because she wants you to put effort to learn the material. She provides a lot of extra credit assignments and very hilarious. You can get an extra credit point by telling a Chemistry joke.
She has clear grading guidelines and gives lots of opportunities to pass. However, she made several remarks about how Americans are lazy students(she's Indian)and was only warm towards a select few. She is biased against peope who don't "look the part" of a typical chemistry student. I did very well but felt overlooked in her class.
Simply Put, Amazing! Straight to the point practice tests. If you know the material on the practice tests, you'll do great on tests. This was a Hybrid Course; time spent on homework, studying/practicing reviewing video lectures, notes & supplement resources depend on your learning style & goal. She makes the best use of your time during class.
A very straightforward class. There is an ample amount of opportunity to get a good grade on assignments. Prof. Malhotra provided PPTs, notes, and study guides for tests.
Dr. M was so funny! She always made jokes. Her labs were easy, she went over the quizzes before you had to take them, and her tests were easy. She allows you to make a cheat sheet to use during each test. Her grading system was very clear, and she provided a lot of extra credit opportunities.
She loves her work and she does make some awkward jokes, they don't always land but that's the risk you take. I saw others say she was biased; that's not true in the sense they meant. But she does seem to give her extra credit disproportionately to those sitting in the front seats. so sit up front
Coolest professor ever! I didn't think I could make it through Chemistry, but she's funny and strict in a good way. She even gives us chances for extra credit. I really enjoy how lively she makes the class.
I didnt particularly enjoy my time with Professor Malhotra as she exhibited favoritism and bias, which hindered a fair learning environment. I often felt overlooked/ignored.Its important to note that perceptions of bias can vary among students. She has a passion for Chemistry and offers EC opportunities. From my perspective I chose another professor.
I find it astonishing that some students label her as biased when, in fact, she is the epitome of impartiality. She wants every student to thrive. She offers extra credit, teaches with enthusiasm, and wants students to grasp the material. I hope she could offer more chemistry classes like she did before, as I would enroll in all of them.
She is an excellent professor, and I can confidently assert that I have truly grasped the concepts of chemistry.
Her recorded lectures are awesome. She loves teaching a lot. There are three tests, homework, labs, and extra credit, but it's all pretty easy.
Amazing prof. Wish we had more like her at FSCJ.
Dr. M is awesome! She makes learning fun and easy to understand. She really cares about students' success in the course and I'm thankful for how much she helped me during her office hours to understand the concept.
Since being in this teacher's class, I'm thinking of switching to Chemistry. She makes you believe in yourself and leaves you feeling super energized, thinking you can achieve anything with hard work.
Attend the class and ask questions. There are two tests in the class and one take-home test. The practice tests prepare you well for the class tests.
I like the way she teaches, but sometimes she gets upset about little things. She does not like it if students are on the phone during lecture time. Instead of just ignoring it, she tells students to leave the lab. We are not paying to leave the lab. If she can just stop getting irritated by these little things, she can be a great professor.
I used to hate chemistry in high school, but now I actually like it. My professor makes it easy to understand by breaking things down and providing lots of helpful resources. In our hybrid class, she teaches for the first hour and explains the lab, showing us how to set things up instead of just telling us to do it ourselves.
Dr.M is amazing! She really cares about her students succeeding and makes it easy to do so. If I could take classes only taught by her I would.
I never thought I'd enjoy chemistry, but Dr. M changed my mind. She's so enthusiastic about teaching and really cares about her students. She's easy to talk to, and she works hard to help students succeed. I've never had a teacher who cares so much about how well we do.
This professor is awesome! Her grading rules are easy to understand. Just study her lecture notes and watch her videos, and you'll do well.
Complete your homework, attend classes, and participate in all the labs, and you'll do well.
Homework assignments are through McGraw. They are graded for completion. The Post-Lab quizzes are only 5 questions, and she reviews each quiz with the class before assigning it. The tests are only 20 questions. She provides ACCURATE study guides that will guarantee an A or B on the test. EXTRA CREDIT: SHOW UP ON TIME and PARTICIPATE IN CLASS.
DR Malhotra, was amazing pissoir she was very clear in the beginning she will explain everything you need to know about, she is funny, caring, and beyond knowledgeable .she love to help student who ask, and need help if you focus on her class and watch her videos you will do well, overall she is amazing i would highly recommend Dr.malhotra..
Dr,malhotra, is amazing professor you will ever meet on this planet. she is funny loves when you ask for help she caring person if you need help she goes beyond your expectation. she is beyond knowledgeable, professional, and intelligent.i highly recommended Dr. Malhotra, you will learn alot in her class if you focus on her lecture..
Professor M is funny and keeps her students engaged with the lecture and encourages questions and participation. She cares about her students and will take the time to help her students and give examples until you have a better understanding of objectives being learned and give many opportunities for extra credit!
Dr. M is incredible dedicated to her work and her students. She truly is an inspiration. Her commitment to our success and the additional support she provides, surpasses that of any other professor I have had. Her lectures are not only informative but also engaging and enjoyable, making the learning experience much more enriching.
Professor Malhotra explains all of her lectures very simple in class/ in online videos. She also encourage students to ask questions if we don't understand. She's gives plenty of extra credit, study guides, practice tests so it's really easy to get a A in her class. Side Note: JUST DO NOT BE ON YOUR PHONE IN CLASS! Put it up until class is over. :)
Professor M's chemistry class was fairly easy. She gives a lot of information for each assignment in class and is accessible online. It shouldn't be hard to pass with an A or B, she has a lot of extra credit opportunities! Loved her lectures and sense of humor kept me interested in the material.
Professor Harpreet has been the best teacher by far. She makes learning the material enjoyable and in a way that helps you retain the information. Once you start her class she will give you clear instructions on how the semester will go and set you up for success so if you do not pass her class you truly did not put in the work.
Dr. Malhotra is an amazing professor. She made learning fun and interactive. She gives extra credit. She treats everyone with respect. She encourages questions and discussion. I would absolutely take her again if I needed any further classes.
Doctor M. is an amazing professor, she's super hilarious kind and very caring and thoughtful to her students, always there for us and making us feel smarter with chemistry as well homework is easy and simple as long as you come too class, pay attention and ask questions you'll do amazing.
The teaching was truly excellent, with lessons that were consistently clear and easy to understand. I greatly appreciate how she presented complex concepts in such an accessible way. Her exceptional ability to explain ideas clearly has significantly enhanced my learning experience.
Professor Harpreet was great! Very clear during the lecture and even cracked some jokes. All homework, post-lab, and smartbook were online. Many opportunities for extra credit!
Professor M. is an engaging and supportive instructor. With clear lectures, helpful feedback, and plenty of extra credit, the class is manageable if you stay engaged. Unstuck Study AI was a great study tool alongside the course materials.
Dr.M's online class is hard if you do not have prior chemistry knowledge and like most online classes, you will have to teach yourself. She is understanding and can be flexible with deadlines, however, the class does contain a very large amount of content to study as well as a lot of work. If you work or are generally busy, you will not get an A.
I took this class online and struggled to make sure I learned it without any lectures or guidance. When I asked for feedback about what I missed on an exam, I was given the run around and then she made it seem as if it was an inconvenience when I followed up a month later. I would not recommend to anyone who is invested in their education.
Dr. Malhotra is the most caring and understanding professor I've ever had. I had quite the semester with lots of difficult life circumstances which held me back from succeeding highly in this class. Don't expect any “free passes” but she will meet in the middle & get you to where you need to be as long as you put in the effort. Take her class!!!
Never pick this professor! does not help you and tried to say I cheated in exam when I had my newborn and wife in the same room and tried to say she was feeding me the answers while I wrote them while she was taking care of the newborn in my one room apartment. Did not want to listen to any explanation and sent me to another person. Do not take!
If you want to fail, take her. Her class was hybrid, and she provided not even one handout. You had to sit down and write from the board, and she would erase it right away. You had to sit there and memorize what she wrote on the board. She barely wrote out problems; she had these weird cardboard things that you had to squint to read.
Do not move, whisper, blink, or anything on the proctored exam she will say you cheated resulting in a zero. The modules are locked until the week of. 2 proctored exams last one is not. Your grade is based off 2 discussions 9 modules on ALEKS with 64 topics, a few quizzes. This class is not easy & the prof. is hard to get ahold of.
Tried to say I cheated on a proctor exam when I got up and stretched. Test and grade heavy, make sure you pass every assignment to score atleast a C. She didn't answer any of my emails, rude to me when she finally did the last day of the class!! man super mad thinking it was going to be a good course. Never take this class!!
Professor Malhotra is one of the kindest instructors I've ever had. She treat students with respect and make sure everyone feels heard. She is very patient when answering questions She responds to emails very quickly and very accommodating. She provides lecture notes, her own recorded videos and study guides.
Dr. Malhotra is an incredible professor! She puts in so much effort to help with your studies. She made learning this subject enjoyable and always kept the material engaging. Her course includes just two in-class exams, with the third being a take-home exam, and she offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. Definitely take her class!
Prof. Malhotra was amazing. She goes above and beyond to help you succeed. She always responds to emails very quickly. Honestly, I wish she could teach microbiology. I kind of miss her—I never thought I could miss a professor!
Professor Malhotra is very supportive and uplifting. She always encourages students to ask questions and explore new ideas. Her positive attitude makes the classroom feel like a space where it's okay to make mistakes and learn from them.
This professor is one of the best I've ever had. In her lectures, she ensures everyone understands the material before moving forward. She uses funny examples that make the concepts easy to grasp. Her lecture videos are incredibly helpful, and she offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. I'm really glad I took her class!
Professor Malhotra is absolutely great! Chemistry is challenging, but she makes it fun and relatively easy. I recommend attending all her lectures. She is truly passionate about what she teaches, which is refreshing. I took her class because my sister had her a few years ago and loved her. I'm glad I had the same experience!
I took the online math class with this professor, and I loved it! It was super easy for me and Dr. M is very understanding and fair. No complaints with this class or professor at all.
okay okay let me honest! she is Respectful, nice, caring as a professor should be. here is the catch. don't be fooled with those extra credits it will only increase one or two point. tests are so hard and horrible. you do good on everything else labs, hw, etc but bad on the test you will fail.
Everything was done through aleks which is very easy to use. She is also very nice and encouraging. There were technical issues on an exam and she was very kind to extend the due date for everyone.
