Harriet is one of the best professors I have ever had.She is bright and knows her chemistry.She will require you to work hard but is very fair and helpful.This is a labor intensive class but you can expect to get your moneys worth.

Had her for 105. Class is fun. I would reccomend anyone that is afraid of chemistry to take Harriet. She will leave you with a love of Chemistry.

She is one of the best teachers I have had at lane. She goes fast but is very clear on how to learn the material and what you need to learn. Do the homework, go to class, take notes. Lots of information, but she is organized and on top of the Chemistry thing!!!

Chemistry is a very difficult subject for me! Harriet made it interesting, learnable, and FUN! She's got alot of energy and it shows while she is whizzing away at the board explaining topics!

Good teacher for a hard subject. Chem 112 is a very rushed course by nature, she takes it in stride and helps you too as well. Gives a massive study guide for the final, final questions are STRAIGHT OFF IT. How cool!

Spectacular teacher. I hate chem and I'm awful at science in general (particularly chem), I started the class just hoping maybe I could pull a B- and I walked out with an A+. I also actually understood the material because she explains things in a way that anyone can understand. I highly recommend this teacher.

Harriet covers A TON of information in her class. Show up, take notes, do the homework and you'll do well. Very helpful if you don't understand the info presented. Just don't hold up the class with your questions, see her during office hours.

Her corpopration with students was great and teachng was fun. She does not through swing ballsat her students or prepare tricky exams. I loved her teaching style. She is very transparent about what will be on tests. Things that she says 3 times and gives you "the look" are all on the test. All the questions on the final were the exact same as the homework problems (homework isn't mandatory). If you pay attention in class you'll do well!

She has got to be one of the most intelligent women teachers I have ever had. She will go out of her way to help her students too. She will NOT tolerant any cheating or attempts at cheating either.

A lot to cover, but by putting in the time you can succeed. I got a lower score due to my own fault, not the instructor. She will find points to give you.

Class isn't mandatory but its a necessity! She skims the book so if you aren't in class you will study way to much nonsense information. She lets you know what is exactly on each test (even gives you a run down of the actual test!) Learned a lot and actually had fun learning chemistry!

If you do all the homework problems and reading you will succeed! She talks fast and every other word is important so be ready to listen up and take notes. Great chances for extra credit. Behm is a great teacher. Very clear and what is to be expected. Do all your homework, show up everyday, and study consistently. You do all these things and you should be just fine.

Harriet is a great teacher. She makes every concept clear. She is approachable, understanding and is so knowledgeable. Sometimes she has some strong opinions but any story she tells is directly related to the subject being studied and makes it easier to retain the information. Harriet was by far my favorite teacher! Every class was none stop info and if you didn't do the homework you would fail the class. Harriet did a great job with her handouts and test preparations. The tests are hard and nearly impossible to pass if you didn't do the homework. She has a great personality and will help you wherever you need it! :)

I never thought my best grades in college would come from Chemistry but Harriet is truly an awesome teacher. The classes are solely lecture based but if you attend, engage, and study you will get an A. She is clear with all the material and loves questions. She clarifies what's tested ahead of time so there's no reason not to get correct answers!

I was so nervous to take this class because Chemistry isn't my absolute strong suite, but Harriet made it very simple and clear to understand. She gives very clear study guides for tests and there is no busy work. She is really funny and personable. She makes it possible for everyone to succeed. Harriet is my favorite Professor at Lane! She's very straight forward and tells you exactly what you need to focus on. She'll point out possible test questions during lectures and gives out focused supplemental reading materials, so you don't have to read the whole chapters to find what you need. Harriet is now one of my favorite teachers. I struggled with Chemistry in high school but she makes Chemistry so much easier. She keeps everyone engaged during lectures and always uses stories to help us remember certain material. Definitely take her class, seriously she's the best!

She gives handouts that supplement the textbook (which she complains about constantly) and actually tells you every question on every test, including the final. Harriet's class was great! She knows how to teach and who she is teaching to. She is very organized and helpful. The class/subject is challenging for most, but she makes it accessible to everyone if they are willing to put in the work required. Skipping lectures and falling behind is not wise, you will be lost in A & P even if you pass this class.

Harriet's class was challenging because of the material but she always used analogies to make sure you understand it. She makes sure we are in this together and all on the same page. Takes time to answer questions and will email you back promptly if you have questions outside of class. Stay on top of your work and you will be fine.

Best teacher on the planet. Took her in spring of this year and she is still hands-down my favorite teacher. Easy to understand, fun and you can definitely tell she is trying hard to help you rather than just ramble on aimlessly. If she taught a higher level i would take her again.

Harriet sets you up for success. Not only does she CLEARLY outline how you will be graded in the class, she is also tells you exactly what will be on exams. Homework is not required, but definitely do it. If you skip assignments it is easy to get behind during her lecture because she moves very fast.

I had never taken a science class before, and went into Harriets class with absolutely no prior knowledge. I took Harriets class twice. The first time I completely failed. The second time I got an A+. Harriet breaks things down and makes things very simple so you can understand. Shes one of the best teachers Ive ever had. She cares a lot.

Harriet is straight to the point and gives good analogies to understand the material you'll be learning. My class went fully online due to covid, and she was pretty nice with our class and gave us extra credit opportunities, open book, and even dropped our lowest test score. I'd recommend if taking her class online to do the homework!

Behm is a professor I can learn from quite easily. She leaves success up to students, I recommend being very proactive with her chemistry course. The only weighed work you'll be earning a grade from are quizzes (EC available) and forum postings (only EC). She is willing to help outside class, is very amiable, and gives us all resources to pass!

Harriet is amazing, I cannot recommend her enough. I always struggled in chemistry but she breaks everything down so it's digestible. I have never had a teacher who I felt actually prepared me for future classes; I took her's 2 yrs ago & now I can honestly say she is the exception to this. She loves giving A+'s, do the work and you'll get one too.

I loved Harriet! She made Chemistry easy to learn. I studied her lecture notes vs book and did great. DO the assignments which arent graded but help lots with the tests. ALSO DO EXTRA CREDIT!! Those who dont, dont get As. Every week you read, do assignment, take a quiz, and post 2 ex credit forums. Then 3 exams including final. Take her class!!

THE BEST INSTRUCTOR EVER. Material was very thorough and clear. She assigned HW every week, and weekly quizzes are related to the HW, so if you aren't lazy the quizzes will be easy. She responded to emails super fast if you had ANY questions. GREAT communicator and a very like-able person, and genuinely cares about your success!!!
