Two words: Open. Book. If you passed Math 125 than this class is like a vacation. You have to come to class though. If you don't, your grade goes down.

he's a very laid back kind of teacher who gives many opportunities for a higher grade. his stats tests are open book open notes, and his psych tests are open notes. but he keeps track of absences and u can only have a certain amount of absences. u have to take him.

Fink is a good proff.. if u want a good grade in his class.. be sure to pay attention. Homework is given like 4 times and takes 30 min.. very easy quizzes..Fink makes class fly by really fast.. !

He tends to wander a bit but he does go over the material using many different examples until you know it inside and out. Your best bet is to rely primarily on his lectures and take good notes because tests are open book/open note. Overall he's a good professor and you will actually learn a great deal without undue stress!

I think if you have a math mind and are good at multiple choice and math concepts, this class is incredibly easy. Do your homework very very clearly with lots of detail. All the tests are open book & multiple choice. However, a LOT of people have a very tough time with this class because of his chatty teaching style and general unhelpfulness.

Prof. Fink is a great professor! He gives you unlimited opportunities to do well in the class. He is very supportive and explains things over and over again until you understand. Make sure you complete every homework assignement and take good notes. Quizes and Final are open book. If you need extra help, see Greg at the Learning Center.

Not such a bad teacher once you can get over his corny jokes. you wont need to read the book. just write good notes and watch him. The book can confuse you. he does a good job of getting you to learn the subject.

If you have a math mind, youll find this class a lot easier to deal with. Its hard to follow him sometimes because of the way he breaks off into tengents during his lectures, but just take a LOT of notes and study HARD. The book is confusing, so don't bother most of the time. Quizzes/final open book, open notes. (HW given only when tests are due.)

He is a little out there but don't let that fool you. He lets you take tests with notes and if you go to the learning center they will help you out because the tutors their know what he asks. take him he's easier than Gardner!!!

Cool and funny, makes stat. fairly interesting...believe it or not. Open book/note tests that require a little bit of preparation but as long as you take good notes, you'll only need the book for supporting material or in case you forget something. I Highly recomend Fink for your Stats Req.!

Easy A, no one ever comes to class. Tests are OPEN NOTES! Other than that, no homework, but two 5 page papers. Take him if you can stand HORRIBLE jokes.

Great teacher. He keeps it fun and breaks up the monoteny of numbers for 1 1/2 hours!!! He enjoys teaching and he know his material. Class is not too hard but studying is definetly required.

He's a good teacher. If you go to class and pay attention during lecture, you should get at least a B. It is very helpful to go to the tutoring sessions; practically gives you the tests if you attend them. Homework is easy points. He side tracks alot and thinks he is hilarious, when he's actually just super weird. Good class though. Recommend him.

Wants students to learn concepts and apply common sense. All tests and work are open book. No memorizing formulas is required. His lectures are very helpful in helping us grasp the general concepts. Perfect lesson plan for an introduction to statistics class. Great teacher with a VERY generous grading scale. Tells lame jokes, though. :-)

Fink's social psych class isn't bad.. Thought I'd hate it, but ended up liking it. A few tests, easy because he goes over them, and they're open-note. A bit boring, yes, but definitely passable with a good grade pretty easily. If you miss class too many times, you'll have to do a paper to make it up. There are 2 papers to do also, but not hard.

This class was a bit boring he says a lot of jokes through the semester. You have 3Quizes and 2Papers, but pretty easy. Quizes are open notes you do learn and class can be fun at times. I recommend this class! :) Oh yea there's extra credit available as well.

A very good teacher--and funny!

He tells weird jokes; some are funny some aren't; but pay attention to the jokes--there is useful information in his jokes that apply to his class. The class is only easy if you prepare so attend class, know where the material is in the book, and take notes. I enjoyed this class way more than Algebra.

Fink is personally one of my favorite teachers at Valley. I absolutely love his dry sense of humor, and his less then funny jokes. I find them really amusing and its even funnier that he laughs at his own jokes when the class isn't laughing at all. He's very literal which is hysterical.

for his tests you need to read the book to do well. he asks about bunch of experiments covered in the book. you cold get by with writing down the key terms for each chapter, but i recommend reading the book. You can use your notes on tests.

you can use your notes and book on his tests. all multiple choice. his tests are more concept oriented then actual problems, you need to understand key terms and how they relate to the problem. very good professor overall, definitely recommend.

you can use your notes and books on all 3 tests and the final exam. there is hw which is collected on exam days and an extra credit assignment which is due on the final exam. kinda of an easy B gotta make that extra effort for an A. but overall okay teacher makes a lot of annoying jokes but some are funny. hes okay.

He really teaches and shares stories a lot, but it definitely makes the class more interesting. Jokes are hilarious. He explains well and teaches all the necessary information. The tests are open book, but still potentially tricky. If you know your stuff and have been listening, you'll be good. He seems to be very very lenient...

I have to say, for a math class, he made it very interesting. Only teaches you whats on the tests, very clear on the notes, offers EC work, his class structure is very easy. He knows what he is doing. Stats 1 is maditory for transfer, if your dreading it take Fink!

I've always HATED Math and have never been good at it. This was my first A in a Math-related subject in my life! Sometimes I dozed off in this boring class, but Fink is the easiest Stat professor at Valley. Tests are Open-Book, Open-Note, AND Multiple choice! You don't need the book but he calls you out if you dont bring it to class. Easy class!

What can I say about taking stats with Fink? Overall it was a good class, Fink makes statistics seem easy and bearable with his sense of humor. If you like math, this class will be a breeze. However if math is not your strong suit, there will be a tutor to help you. Grading consists of four assignments, three midterms (lowest dropped) and a final.

STAT 001 If you aren't good at Math you can still pass this class. You MUST go to the tutoring cntr & get every practice quiz & complete it before class bc you can use it to refer to on tests. Open book, open notes, open practice quizzes & even with all this info I only got a B. It takes some time to study for this class & I didn't mind his jokes.

Professor Fink is a good teacher. Open book tests, the homework is assigned a week before the test and you do need to put your time on it. The professor explains the problems and makes statistics an easier course. Even if you are not that good at math, this class will be good and easier.

Awesome teacher!!! Super easy, take his notes! Books are needed but not used too much, just for graphs. Everything else is notes and in class practice. He can be funny. One homework assignment before each test(4). and you have a week to do it. He makes it up as you go by letting you give numbers for the homework equations. Don't miss class !!!!!!!!

Love this professor! He's so funny. Most of the students did not understand his jokes though. He spends a lot of time making sure everyone understands the material and does not move at a fast pace. The homework is appropriate and definitely not an overload. His tests are clear as well. Put in a decent amount of effort and you'll do great.

Not everyone will get his sense of humor. It's more like "grandpa" humor - corny puns...but, I loved it. Explained concepts thoroughly and used real-life situations to enhance his lectures. Open-book tests with practice quizzes that you can use on your actual quizzes. Need I say more? Nope. Don't make a Type II error by missing out on his class!

Fink is a great professor! This was my second time taking Stats ( I received a 'C' needed 'B' or better) and I passed with an 'A' He has some weird humor, but I enjoyed it. Even if you dont enjoy his humor, he is worth taking because he is clear in his lectures. He answered all ?s clearly. He is THE best stat teacher I have had.

I definitely was pretty scared to take Stats since I haven't been the best at math in the past. That being said, I somehow got an A. I can attribute this to the fact that I was never absent, took notes and paid attention in class, and read every chapter. If you put in the effort, you will get a good grade. Also, don't use your cellphone in class!

Statistics isn't an easy class to begin with. Attendance is mandatory so attend class and pay attention, do all HW and online HW, get all the points you could and if you need help there's tutoring at the library. Open book quizzes what else would you want, and he would assign extra credit at the end. Easy paced class overall good professor.

I enjoyed taking his class, I thought he was funny. You take 3 OPEN NOTE tests, drops one, which includes the final. He assigns 2 papers, pretty easy, they're allowed to be research and personal experience based. He get's a little distracted during lecture, so make sure you read the book and take extra notes on top of his lecture notes. Great guy

He will show you just how it will show up on the test and even gives a great opportunity for extra credit at the end of the year and it is literally a letter grade worth. Professor Fink is a fair grader, he's good at teaching the formulas need for the hw, and his final and exam is open book and open notes. The only issue i had with him is he takes his class time way to seriously if we finished lecture and had 5 min left he would go on to the next lesson to make sure he get those 5 minutes worth.

Class consists of: 3 tests (25 questions each), the final (60 questions), 4 long assignments based on data in class, and a short, weekly online assignment. The final and tests are open-book, open-note but don't be fooled; they are still tough. Pay attention to his lectures, take great notes, and, even if you suck at math like me, you will pass.

Make sure you go to class, if you miss get notes from a good student. His test/quizzes are open book/notes, on etudes he has a review for quizzes which should really help. In class he goes over what he expects on the homework (pay attention). He gives extra credit, go to club meetings and an extra assignment at the end.

This is the first class I have ever worked hard for. It's not easy, but you will learn a lot. He's a funny teacher who understands sarcasm. Make sure to show up every day with a calculator ready. Participation really matters. He recognizes when students show effort to pass. Have a good laugh and work hard. You will do just fine! Take this class!

I've never been good at math and have put off taking Stats as long as possible, but it was a breeze with Fink! He's patient, goes slow, shows everything step by step, uses real life examples to help make sense of all the numbers/symbols, and always willing to answer questions without judgement. To top it off, he's laid back, silly, & full of jokes!

He's a funny dude. He often side tracks a lot bc of his jokes. But teaches well and is fair. He is strict with policies though.

He's pretty clear in lecture and teaches concepts in a way that actually helps you understand things. The tests are all open book/notes but they are based on application instead of just plugging numbers into formulas, so you actually have to have a good grasp of things. And you get candy for participating.

This class is open book/notes which is helpful and I like that we do hw on paper instead of online. He's very funny/silly at times during lectures. If you have questions he will help you and is very straight forward. Do not be on your phone and do not be late because he will call you out lol. Do extra credit!!!

I've been studying at Valley College for over two years, taking classes with many teachers, but I must say Professor Fink is unique. He does everything in his power to make the student succeed, the lectures are easy, his quizzes are a lot easier with open note tests & drops the lowest. He's great, amazing, just wowowo, one of the kinds.
