Very nice and helpful!
He didnt seem to know his subject and didnt communicate it clearly.
Mathematica sucks, Shea won't answer questions.
Its really hard to understand him at 8 in the morning and he doesnt really helpU
Paranoid about cheating. Rigid lecturer.
He'll help if you ask him at the right time, but his lectures are incredibly boring. If you're able to stay away you are doing well.
the other dude is right..mathematica is dumb. the rest is ok but shea is terribly boring. I got current on my emails though!
He Sucks. Can't teach and his lectures are just babling. He can't answer any questions about anything.
He is very intimidating, and mumbles so that no one can understand what he is saying. He really doesn't like to help, but if you ask at the right time, he will give only small hints. At all costs, do not take his class!!!!!!!!!
he SUCKS! he treats people like they are dumb-stay away-far away!
This guy absolutely sucks. He talks to much on stuff that doesn't have any relevance and he does not answer questions or explain himself. Needs to quit his day job!
he is funny but goes fast
Terrible at lecturing...I payed attention 15% of the time. Doesn't know what he's talking about so he doesn't make sense or answer questions.
Very unclear. He talks and talks but he doesn't say anything. I space out big time cause it's hard to follow him. If at all possible avoid him!!
wow, this man is extremely bitter towards the world. he is not helpful and is REALLY boring. He likes to think that he knows what he is talking about. He simply frustrates me and I cannot wait to get out of his class! Take someone else if you can!
I HATE THIS CLASS!
this man is so extremely mono tone...and boring. If you can, take a different teacher
He is very mono-tone and this will be the hardest computer class you will EVER take!!! dont take it unless you want a challenge
This man is the worst teacher ive ever had , if i could id rather kill myself than sit through his class. He has no expression in his voice and its like he is pissed off at the world when he talks, AVOID HIM AND THIS CLASS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE< trust m
this class sucks, its soo boring dont take him he wont ever help you
So boring I can't bear to listen. First part of semester is hard, but second half is easy. He does respond nicely to emails though.
Harry Shea is sooooo boring!! Knows his stuff but can't teach very well. Teaches too fast. Don't have to go to class but probably should. Test are hard. Don't take this class!!
He is a great guy but a crappy teacher. He made me confused on stuff that i already knew how to do. He will gladly help you though if you ask though. Gives some homework but not a whole lot. I recommend not taking him for this course.
The class it's self is boring, he is hard to understand but he is very helpful. He gives you workdays to do homework. Not Bad
What are these people talking about?? He's great! He lets you screw around online in class and doesn't give a damn if you pay attention to class. He is very helpful if you approach him and ask for help. He's really nice too!
Harry Shea is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. His voice is really annoying, he doesn't explain things clearly, and the tests are extremely hard. This was one of the hardest computer classes I have ever taken.
Awful! Do not take 111 unless you have to! Hard tests about stuff that is so boring you fall asleep listening to. He is never wrong, even when very clear that he make a mistake. Stay far far away from Harry Shea unless you want to fail.
odd, kind of unreasonable but as long as you do the work ahead of time you can surf the net all hour
boring
Shae was pretty boring but incredibly easy if you knew jack about computers, you could pretty much play games the whole time and make an easy A as long as you do his hw.
Wow, I had him last year and I just had to get on here to tell everyone to avoid him if you can! He was horrible. Sometimes he was nice but he was not a very good teacher! He seems so bitter towards the world and his students. He is not much help and is a picky grader. Avoid if you can.
Shea was very boring and droned on...if you don't know comp terminology you'll be lost. he is kind of a picky grader and isn't that helpful
He is hard to understand at first. It sounds like he has crap in his mouth while he's talking. You get used to it though.
This class was hard even for people who know how to use computers. He always stumbles over words and doesnt make sense when he is explaining things in class. His bad attitude towards his students doesnt help either.I would recommend taking CIS or at least another CSC teacher.
This guy is really picky. You do anything BARELY incorrect and he counts it wrong. He also isnt very clear when talking and mumbles sometimes. I got an A in the class and still think it was difficult for what it is since im a computer science major.
I have never had a problem staying AWAKE in a class before Harry Shea. I am currently in the process of DROPPING OUT OF CSC because of this man. Nuf said.
This man has no respect for students. He's so picky on papers too, if he asks you to do somehting and you do it but not how he wants you to its automatically wrong even if the outcome was the same. He mumbles. Stumbles over his words and seems unconfident. I think he needs to get his butt off the computer and out into the real world.
Very boring. Very confusing. Tests are over things that a computer user does not need to know. It is all technical stuff like what kind of wire is needed to do certain tasks. Awful, and definitely do not take it at 8:00 in the morning if you absolutely HAVE to take him.
Very boring. Not helpful at all. Tests were difficult even though I studied. He counted off whole answers on the homework, even when the smallest thing was done wrong. Try to avoid having him.
Shea has no idea what he is talking about and he never says anything that will be on the tests. He is an extremely picky grader and gives study guides that have no relevance. Just avoid him at all costs.
He ruined my college 4.0. Don't take him. He doesn't explain anything, so you will be teaching yourself about computers.
Not helpful at all. Horrible. Doesn't explain anything. The tests have nothing to do with what he gives you to study. Only good thing about him is that everytime he talks he reminds me of Kip from Napoleon Dynamite and I start singing "I love technology" to myself.
HARD CLASS
He seems lost and confused most of the time. Sometimes he gets a little pissy.
this is a gen ed class, not a major class at all. oh but he somehow finds a way to make this the hardest possible class in the world... he refuses to help you, he doesnt know what hes talking about... i have all a's and 1 d. dont take him. ive talked to so many ppl taking this class w someone else and they love it. DONT TAKE HIM!
Lost, confused, and most of the time just stares at his computer screen trying to figure out what he should do next. The class is one of the easiest I've ever taken (including HS) but he's a boring moron and I wouldn't recommend him
I thought this class was going to be easy and help my GPA, cause i took a class like this is high school and got A's. the worst class ever! dont take shea! all he does is read the power points and try to understand them the tests have nothing to do with the notes! hard tests!
I HATED this class...
I HATED THIS CLASS! NOT ONLY WAS IT AT 8AM. I THOUGHT THIS CLASS WAS GOING TO HELP MY GPA I MEAN HOW HARD COULD IT BE RIGHT? WELL HE PUTS CRAP UP ON THE POWERPOINT AND NEVER EXPLAINS IT! DONT TAKE HIM OR YOUR GPA WILL SUFFER FOR SURE!
Horrible. He sucks at his job, he should really think about quiting. He is more confused than anyone else is the class normally. If possible dont take him.
dont take him! he is soo boring, half my class slept through it, and the other half were on facebook. he is a terrible teacher!
He made no sense through the entire course!
BAD TEACHER!!! AVOID HIM IF YOU CAN!! I seriously was bored every lecture..it's hard to stay awake..and you can't ever understand what he's talking about because he mumbles. Take CIS because I heard that was a lot easier
Very unhelpful, stuck on himself, too good to say good morning prick, he could care less if you understand what he is talking about or not
This man makes my skin crawl. If you are in his class, he will get all his instructions wrong, mumble and say UMMM a lot during lectures and then act condencending when you ask for clarifications. Very bad teacher.
Horrible class and an even worse teacher. He actually gave out incorrect instructions and marked me wrong when I followed them. He's bitter and nasty and rude. He mumbles half the time and the other half, he's simply wrong about what he's telling you. I didn't realize you could get paid to do something so very badly.
For the material required for him to teach in this class, I'd say he did an above average job in keeping the class not extremely boring and teaching in general. Very easy material, just play online games.
DO NOT TAKE SHEA! he is horrible! his lectures put you to sleep - he just reads off his slides (i've nodded off on more than one occasion) -- He is EXREMELY picky when it comes to grading he'll take off 1/4 or 1/2 a point for the craziest reasons (i'm pretty good with computers yet he manages to find the littlest things to take off for)
HORRIBLE teacher. Don't take him. His tests are soo hard, the average is 60% but he doesn't grade on a curve. His lectures are powerpoint, he reads all the bold topics out of the textbooks and doesn't explain them. He grades insane. If it's not the correct word, according to his answer, it's wrong. There's no alternate ways of saying the same word.
Class was easy and he was very helpfull. Is really picky but doesn't take many points off when he is.
He is very picky about every little thing on assignments ... but if you show up to every class and get everything done you should get a B
One of the worst teachers ever. read the book and its ok, but he never explains anything about excel well and you are forced to teach yourself. But otherwise its ok, just read the book!!! he is incredibly boring, and homework is required to be turned in on time- spelling and grammer counts. Find another teacher!
Useless knowledge nowone should know about computers
It was a hard class, but if you come in for extra help, he's really helpful. I know absolutely nothing about computers, but if you do all the homework, you'll get a good grade. Plus, if he sees that your grades are curving up, he'll cut you slack. At times he's kind of hard to understand, so most of the people just goof around on facebook.
Makes what should be an easy class very difficult. Because computers are picky, he is too. Don't use "&"-write "and", and double check your spelling and grammar or you will lose points on homework. Lectures are hard to follow & the first two tests are over the entire book, so do the reading.
The class was extremely boring, the tests weren't too bad
He is a nice guy but his class is boring. Just come to class do the homework and the tests (easy) and you will be fine. Take him just not at 8 in the morning, he will put you back to sleep!
He is a great guy and all, but boring. I'm good with computers. I didn't bother studying for tests and managed a B. He gives study guides which are nice.
It was a bad choice to take CSC instead of CIS in the first place, but this class makes something so simple so difficult! Excel about ruined me and im not even that bad with computers. Go to class for points if you find yourself not getting the work. Tests are suprisingly easy...
Grades homework extremely HARD! However the tests are easy, but he grades them hard and youll probably get a bad grade. Poor teacher. DONT TAKE!!
He is a bad teacher
He is so ridiculously boring and the class is so pointless! He isn't helpful and his lectures are such a waste of time. Don't take this class if you have the option and definitely don't take it with him!
This professor is really hard. he loves his red pen and will use it to mark up all your work. Lectures are boring. If you have difficulty sleeping you don't need medicine, just take this class. Homework is long and tedious. Excel section is the worst, murders your grade and im reasonable with computers. He's a nice man and will help if you ask.
I curse the day that I ignored what I read on ratemyprofessors.com and took Harry D. Shea's CSC 101 class anyway. He is a nice guy, but makes computer class incredibly and unnecessarily difficult. I should mention as a disclaimer that I also happen to hate PC's :( I had a 4.0 until this class, and at this point I am hoping for a C. boo
This class & teacher were absolutely ridiculous. Almost none of the informaion was in the least bit helpful & the majority of the class period was spent watching Mr. Shea try to figure out how to do what he was trying to show us. I left this class more confused than i came it. There's a ton of homework with SO many steps. Stay away from this class.
class was soooo boring. we got out of class early almost every day cuz he would let us do homework work in class. not very approachable or understanding
horrible. he made the subject super boring and the tests were incomprehensibly hard. im probably going to have to retake this class because i didnt learn a thing. he doesnt seem to care about student success and isnt very approachable.
Easiest class I've taken in college. He may be boring, but it's a mandatory computer class, it's gonna suck. He let me make up a test I slept through, no questions asked. Good guy and good teacher.
Harry Shea is a knowledgeable teacher, however, his class is harder than it needs to be. An introductory computer class should provide a good overview, however, he assigns every assignment in two of the three textbooks used in the class. Other CSC or CSI teachers teach basics, Shea on the other hand is meant more for Computer Science majors.
He was one of the worst teachers ever. He was relatively unapproachable and didnt really teach anything. If you didnt understand, he figured it was just because you werent paying attention and wouldnt help you. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!
At first i thought Dr. Shea was rude and a complete jerk, but as the semester progressed, I realized he wasn't so bad. He tends to ramble on about useless subjects that have nothing to do with anything we should be learning but as long as you don't pay attention to any of his useless lectures and do the work on your own the class isn't half bad.
Bad teacher has favorites and if you are not a favorite he will take random points of assignments
He makes this class much harder than need be, everyone in the class right now is not doing well. Find a different teacher than him!
He is the most boring teacher.I believe he literally bored me to tears. This subject matter isn't too awful, except for mathematica. It's just hard to learn from him.
He has a pringles guy mustache and tries really hard to be funny. He is very interested in what he teaches. But! he expects his students to just get it. I feel he grades too harshly and is unfair. Reading the book is required to make a good grade.
Personaly Mr.Shea Is a good guy but he gave us an outrageous amount of homework.I did in fact learn alot about computers. He went over things very fast in class and i would not recomend his class.
Personaly Mr.Shea Is a good guy but he gave us an outrageous amount of homework.I did in fact learn alot about computers. He went over things very fast in class and i would not recomend his class.yes
SO BORING!!! TOO MUCH HOMEWORK!!!!! Very forgetful, if you can get a different teacher
Harry Shea is a very nice person. If you are boarderline he will bump you up, but all in all his class is extremely time consuming for a 2 hour class. I learned a lot, but it's probably the first time I've ever felt like I learned too much! It was overwhelming how long each assignment took me to do. Good luck!
Very boring.
The class is extremely boring. He makes the subject a lot harder than it should be. He gives a lot of homework and takes off points for the most ridiculous mistakes. He's also one of those teachers than when you ask a question, he says "well what do you think?" If you have him as a teacher, I highly recommend you get out of his class.
AVOID THIS CLASS!!! Most of his students understand computers better than him, and at one point in the class he informed us that if we had a question he probably wouldn't answer it. The one program that I wanted to learn how to use, Mathematica, he avoided the main use of the program, solving Calculus problems, instead teaching us meaningless uzes.
So boring. He talks all class about absolutely nothing, then gives you homework right before you leave. If you have questions, you're on your own. Takes off points for stupid things. He's not mean or vile, but makes things harder than they should be and is quite boring.
Harry Shea really is a nice guy but makes this class extremely difficult and as boring as possible. I highly recommend not taking CSC101 with him because you most likely won't do well unless you have a burning passion for computers...
The subject matter is rather tedious, and he tends to speak geek so if you're good at computers you won't do too bad. Though I recommend trying to test out, he's not that bad of a teacher. He really wants to help his students pass, but you have to go to HIM. He worked with me to help me pass
Gets upset when students have questions. Does not explain anything necessary for homework.
Only attend when homework is due. The readings are not that important. Tests have a lot of information that is not even gone over in class. Sit in the front because you can never understand what he says sitting in the back. I would suggest taking CIS honestly.
Mr. Shea wasn't at all helpful! He would lecture for 45 minutes on useles stuff and then give a massive homework assignment! Don't bother asking questions either. He also nit-picks at the homework and gives assignments that you are designed to fail! so unless you already know everything about computers, don't take Mr. Shea
Absolutely awful. He was very condescending in class and assigns homework that is impossible due to his ridiculous requirements. He turned what should have been a fun, relatively into class into the worst class I've ever experienced.
Terribly confusing, especially whenever you asked for help, he would make you feel unintelligible and small. Harry Shea needs to update his information and have an open mind.
Professor Shea knows about computers, but doesn't know how to teach it. No one else I've spoken with struggled through a CSC or CIS 101 class, but Shea's curriculum is ridiculous. Avoid this professor.
Shea is nice enough, but his lectures are extremely boring and confusing. The class grade is mostly homework, so if you do take it do it all, get it in on time, and do it right. He nitpicks a LOT of things, and it's extremely difficult to get 100% on anything. If you ask a question he just confuses you more. Definitely pick a different professor.
The way he grades homework assignments would make it possible to get a 'negative' percentage. He will take off 3 points from a 15 point assignment for a small error on one of the 70 questions in the assignment. Avoid this professor because he doesn't know how to teach a class.
Do everything you can to avoid Shea. He is so picky about EVERYTHING. You will never get a 100% on anything. If you ask a question he will have something rude to say and will just make you even more confused.
AVOID! He's a great guy but the class should be easy and he makes it hard. Don't torture yourself.
NOT A BLOW OFF CLASS but Easy class. Makes Excel very difficult. Impossible to get a 100% expect for extra credit assigments. Actually have to try to receive at least a B.
This class started off very hard and then got easier. He teaches the material backwards (hardest stuff first) so you will freak out in the beginning but it gets better. He is a nice man but he is pretty strict and also can be confusing in his teaching. I think he means well but just isn't the best teacher. I would take someone else if possible.
Tries to help students sometimes, belittles them other times and humiliates them. Makes parts of the homework far more difficult than need be. Is a patient fellow when one-on-one, but his wording can be confusing.
This guy is a joke honestly. While I think he means well, he's an awful teacher. He has to backtrack his words constantly as if he doesn't know the material himself that he's teaching. He completely humiliated me in front of the whole class by yelling at me when I was actually correct about his mistake on the grading of my paper. AVOID AT ALL COST!
If you can, do not take this professor. No one in my class had over a B for the semester. Grades homework really tough and all other work. Lectures are long and pointless.
-Goes through notes super fast -Horrible at explaining things -Does not assign much homework, so it's hard to get any practice -Never answers emails -Rude to students -Disrespectful
One time he assigned an 86 question test review that was to be completed in 3 days. Also don't expect an email back and if you're good at algebra, don't let him confuse what you already know!
Very scatterbrained and ill-prepared, which makes following a lesson difficult. Speeds through lessons and little home work means it's hard to be ready for the test. Many students have low grades. Asked three times to correct a grading mistake, and still hasn't. Grade checks only available 3/4 into the class. Doesn't seem to care if students pass.
He has a terrible way of explaining things. Often times he would write the problem down wrong on examples and also on exams.
Not good at explaining. Very little homework for practice (10 assignments all semester). Reads off powerpoint slides all class. Often does not know the answer to a question and will end up avoiding it. Can't see your grade until 3 weeks before the final exam. AVOID!
Shea is an awful teacher. He is unclear when presenting the material and he does not seem to know anything about math. I would never take him again. Three tests are 60% of your grade and the final is 25%
Shea seems like a good guy, but he should not be teaching. While explaining a problem, most of the time he would get confused and write the problem wrong or get the answer wrong (if he even told you what the answer was). Tests were pretty tough but he is a very tough grader. Avoid him at all costs!
He's a nice guy but he doesn't know what he is talking about. Lectures were boring and he didn't know what he was talking about. Tests were hard but he doesn't grade hard. Read straight off he PowerPoint from Pearson and flies through the slides. Does not give a lot of homework. Very confusing during lectures and explanations aren't very clear.
Wow. Worst teacher ever. I had to drop the class mid-semester. He was awful, not clear at all. He spends the first 10 minutes of every class telling awful jokes, then the next 5 trying to explain them because no one laughs. Unless you hate yourself, dont take him.
Overall he isn't a bad professor. The way he explains some of the content in the lectures can get confusing because he words it weird, and talks fast. I actually learned more from the online videos than him
The professor was unclear, did not have blackboard working until a week before the end of class, was unprepared and did not look over his own notes (there were numerous typos, even on the study guide and test). He chooses the most complex way to describe things, making simple concepts unnecessarily difficult.
Honestly, I did not like his class at all. His lectures are super long and really boring. He is also not very clear. He basically takes a simple subject and makes it into something way harder than it needs to be. If you can, try an get another teacher.
Never have i ever had a hard time at math but with this man... He confuses himself constantly and rambles. If you take the class then start to have doubts, DROP IT! He's also rather mean and grumpy. Get ready to go to the Bear Claw
Mr. Shea was the worst math teacher I have ever had. I did not pass this class, even though I did all the work and constantly went to his office hours. He confuses himself when he teaches and he gets a lot of answers wrong when doing examples. I'm currently retaking this class with another professor and it is 10x easier. DO NOT TAKE MATH WITH SHEA!
He gets lost in his own notes. It's very boring , very hard to stay awake (I have it at 8 am)
Okay, coming from someone who actually knows how to do math, DO NOT take Mr. Shea. I never pay attention to him in class because he's so scatter brained and teaches math off a powerpoint with no clear examples. I just teach myself out of the book. He really belittles students and doesn't understand why peopled don't get it. NOT WORTH IT DONT TAKE
Professor Shea was not a very good teacher. He talked very quickly, hard to understand. Does a poor job of explaining how to do problems and messes up on examples a lot. Usually with math I can get by with just taking notes and doing assigned work, but in this class I had to go back and re-read the textbook to figure out how to do the problems.
Harry Shea is the worst professor EVER! He doesn't know how to use a computer, strict with grading when he has had several "answers" on the study guide & tests key that were wrong. He doesn't lecture, he just goes through a slide show too quickly to read it. The homework, quizzes, study guides, and tests are not in the same chapter, never prepared.
There are not a lot of assignments so your grade will primarily be exams. He does get lost in his notes a bit, his mind goes faster than his body it seems. I did not enjoy this class because I don't enjoy math. If you show up to class, show due respect, and try he will match your effort. He is actually really flexible and will work with you.
Was very unclear in class. He spent most of the class trying to make jokes and constantly made mistakes while doing examples. His lectures were very hard to follow.
Confusing as hell. Messes up every 3 words. Always teaching the wrong lesson. He expects us to learn 2 lessons before the final without teaching us. Don't take!
Terrible when it comes to explaining things to people who are not already on his cognitive level. It got to the point of being so useless going to class that i stopped going to class, and taught myself college algebra. On top of that he is one of the most unorganized professors i have had.
If you are already bad at math and you have a class with Shea, unless you love getting bad grades and no help, FIND ANOTHER TEACHER. Not once have I seen a teacher who confuses himself more than him. Not only that but if you ask him a question about a problem, he will most likely just confuse you more. In all, I strongly suggest avoiding this class
I had already taken the class in high school but didn't receive college credit. Biggest mistake of my life! Ended up with a D. The day before our final exam he forgot to show up to the review session. He will do a problem on the board then realize he did it wrong. This happened multiple times. Half the class dropped. FIND A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR!!!!
Scatterbrained, unprepared, and mumble-jumbled. Constantly the power-points were wrong, or different from that given for student use. He is a nice guy, tries to be funny, but sucks at delivery. Will and has taken students cell phones, has asked people to leave for talking, banged on the desk and yelled. Homework online, and different form lecture.
Worst professor I have ever had. He gets lost in his own notes and forgets what he is teaching. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
He's squirrely in class, but visit his office and he's so much clearer. Seems to be in his head when he's teaching. I took him for 103 as well as 135. I chose to stay with him because I failed MTH 103 four times at a different school , but with him, I passed on the first try! He wants you to succeed, but you have to reach out to him. I like him.
Incredible teacher! Super nice, real gem.
Don't take this class. This is hands down the worst teacher Ive ever had. He doesn't post grades to blackboard instead he makes a excel spreadsheet which has everyone elses grades on them too. If you want to see your grades any other time you have to beg on your hands and knees. I emailed 12 times and even visited his office during his hours.
Hardest math grader I've ever had. On my last test I got the answer right showed my work, but he said he said my work was too scattered. I didn't get any points for that whole problem. If your work isn't perfect you will receive no credit. He can't teach either.
Disorganized, Doesnt know the material he is teaching, hardest grader Ive ever had, NEVER TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
He may be a little quirky, but he's very kind and not a bad teacher. He's always willing to work with you if you're willing to put in the effort. Although he may be a tough grader, he insures that you know the material for future classes. Give him a chance and be willing to put in effort outside of class.
Warning to anyone taking his class... DON'T DO IT! He is so frazzled and scatter brained. His teaching style is wack. He will take off points on homework and tests for not spelling a word correctly... we are in math class not english. He doesn't even show up for his own scheduled study sessions. Oh, and don't expect to easily view your grade.
Im good at math and he made it more confusing than it was. Takes him 40min to do 2 problems.....
Awful. I ended up having to drop the class on the last day. Save yourself and do not take him. He doesnt know how to teach at all and makes zero sense. In one lecture he mad 12 mistakes that students had to correct him on. Yes, I counted. Im astonished at how he is even a professor on this campus.
Great guy, bad teacher. I have previously taken Algebra 1, 2 and College Algebra but am really bad at tests (placement exam, ACT) so I got forced into Intermediate Algebra. Do not listen to his lectures they are super confusing and dragged out. Print off his slides, watch youtube videos and teach yourself the lessons or get a tutor. SUPER confusing
Blackboard is too new for him I guess. Has a background in CIS, so to access his PowerPoint slides you have to backdoor your way into the school servers and get it that way. There is no blackboard for him so all homework has to be done directly through MML and he randomly put HW up without telling you. Oh, and test have to be done his way to pass.
. he was a hard grader, which i have no problem with except he was unclear in most of his lectures. He also is not on blackboard, as some of the other students have stated. He posts the grades on a spread sheet for everyone to see, which can be confusing at first. I wont be taking him again just because hes classes are confusing.
The worst math teacher I have ever had. Luckily I had the book, so I could go back and teach myself again that he never taught in class. His lectures are solely off of a powerpoint, and doesn't explain any problems. Tries to be funny, but just uncomfortable and awkward.
Doesnt know how to work technology I dont even know my grade in the class.
He is a very poor teacher and does not take the time to actually teach the material. Also raises his voice a lot and makes it hard for students to ask questions.
Overall worst teacher I have ever had. He is a nightmare. Makes you feel dumb for asking questions and it the pickiest grader ever. No bonus thought the entire class. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM.
I have never struggled in math and this was probably my hardest class this semester because of how awful his teaching was. I already took this class in high school and it still made no sense. You can't ask questions in class without him being rude. He gives you the option to call him outside of class yet he never answers. I never knew my grade. BAD
took last semester and was a very rough time. the material wasn't clear and he didn't do a very good job making it understandable.
Harry Shea is without a doubt the most difficult professor I have had the displeasure of working with. He is barely competent as a teacher and it made for a terrible class. Multiple times he would lose where he was or even flat out forget how to do a problem. There were even a few times when a STUDENT had to walk him through his own problem.
Terrible proffessor thats all i have to say
Professor Shea gets a bad rep to his name, but I personally enjoyed his class. It is a pretty basic class, and he is more than willing to help you understand concepts you do not understand if you ask him. He always tries to crack jokes and tried to make class as fun as possible. I would take him again.
