talks about stuff that you learned in 2nd grade all hour
can't understand, does not help at all.
Didn't understanding a thing he was saying!
Great teacher!
He gets confused when he is lecturing. Then he can't say some names right. He said Rachelle instead of Rachel. Soooo irritating
He gets confused very easily
Get's very confused well lecturing hard grader marks every little mistake wrong than can't figure out why no one is doing good in his class.

Easiest teacher you will ever have! Day before an exam he reviews and gives problems very similar to the exam. He just changes the powers or the specific numbers. However, he constantly makes mistakes on the board and talks improperly! Easy A though!
Hard to understand with his accent, spends forver on one problem, doesn't curve tests even when the average is below 60%, and grades very harsh on test (if you didn't use the right formula he loose all the points possible)
Accent gets in the way sometimes, but he talks slow. Teaching could be better, but I've had much worse. He grades our class easier than some before. Spends lots of time on a problem, so only ask him important ones! Very nice and very approachable!
Makes lots of mistakes on the board! Spends lots of time on one problem. Not always very good a explaining himself. Pretty easy tests if you study and know what you are doing.
not very good at answering questions. hard to understand.
This guy really wants his students to learn. I hate math but I did learn alot and enjoyed the class
I think he could be a good teacher but his accent makes understanding him almost impossible, and he really does not show concern for his students
this guy sucks, can't understand what he said, he was more interested in getting through the material than if anybody learned it. very bad professor
Very hard to understand
very hard to understand and that makes the class very difficult
Spends forever on one example and when he finishes 90% of the times he did the problem wrong. However, gives students no slack on their homework and exams.
By all means not a bad professor, just different. Make sure all questions are relevant otherwise 1 hour will go by on the same question. He gives you an exact template of his exam the class previous to it, more than willing to help also.
Worst professor ever.
Very bad teacher!! Don't learn a thing and he don't care. Always makes mistakes when doing problems but don't give no slack if you do. Does not like to answer any questions!
He is interested in whether you learn or not... you just have to have patience, because sometimes he confuses himself. I enjoy the class for the most part though - just do your homework - or you're screwed.
Enthusiatic & cares, but just doesn't know how to teach! He constantly make mistakes on his examples and even makes stuff up sometimes when he doesn't know the answer - unexcuseable! He does tell you what will be on the test, but he is tuff grader!
He is a VERY tough grader. I got points back from him on every exam i took because I know math and he does not. on my last exam I didn't even have to explain to him why he just gave them me :D. he really needs to learn how to minus negatives.
He does not know how to teach. The only reason I passed his class is that I already knew most of the material and had my notes from high school. Stay far away from any class he teaches.
i found his class very hard for the simple reason that half the time you can't understand him. if you ask a question, i found that he talks himself in circles and never really answers your question. i foud myself afraid to ask him questions.
He explained things very well and was fair.
AVOID HIM !!!
He is hard to understand because of his accent. I know that a man who is able to obtain a doctorate in math can get rid of his accent. He says to come to him for help and then when you go to his office he makes no sense. Thank God for the math resource center. He says he will quiz on one thing but.
I think that his class is very easy as long as you pay attention. He goes through and tells you EXACTLY what questions he is going to ask on the exams in the order that they are going to be. Hard to understand at times, but will clarify if you ask.
This professor is very hard to understand. He's from the middle east, nothing against that, but he has a really bad accent. If you ask him questions, he does talk in circles, or just states that it is understood and refuses to answer you.
I dreaded going to this class every Mon and Wed. Hard to understand and isn't very clear. He tries to make the class easy for his students. Randomly calls on students and puts them on the spot. He will totally embarass you if you start to dose off in class. Avoid this class! It's a waste of 4 credits
I'm glad I had calc in high school. If this was my first time having it, I would be in some trouble. He doesn't explain things very well, and people are more confused before than after. Things have to be done his way. If you do something right (but different than him), you're wrong. Steer clear
Horrible. He told me to my face he wouldn't help me with homework, along with a few other students. He's an absolute jerk. The whole class answered the same way on an exam question and he refused to drop the question or explain it. Aweful!

Professor Al-Halees made the class pretty easy. He gave out a template of the actual exam and told everyone exactly what topics would be covered. Sometimes he spent the first half of the lecture answering problems students had trouble with. His accent isn't to hard to understand. He knows his stuff.
Cannot speak English well. One good thing about him is he is very intelligent and will give you lots of shortcuts. His additude is very poor and he is known for yelling at his students.
Somewhat hard to understand. Not very helpful
To those people who said he was easy and helpful...I envy you. This man didn't help my class at all. One has to strain to understand him and he is more quick to accuse individuals of cheating than to help them understand what they're doing. Once a straight-A student, I nearly failed his class.
prof. halees is by far the worst prof i have ever had. Good luck passing this on folks...
He's a horrible teacher!I've always been a straight A student in Math and took Calc in High School.I got in to his class and was incredible lost.He would spend an entire hour on one problem that everyone understood and then test you on completly different material. He wasn't worth asking help from.
If you can understand what he is saying in the lecture take notes. Otherwise learn the material from the book and teach yourself. He does give a study guide before each test so look over the problems he suggests on it. You do get extra credit for coming to class which can make a difference.
He expects you to learn the material, but explains it well in class and tries to be helpful if you have questions. Accent a little hard to understand at first
Excellent Professor! I hate math, but he took time to explain every concept step-by-step. I would recommend this professor to anyone. The accent takes a couple days to get used to.
I have never been a person to complain, but this man is rediculously aweful! I was a straight A student, before him. He made me cry and always shot the class down, making us feel like we were idiots. he didn't know the material and could never help during his office hours. He would always ask to see my answer manual. He is a horrible teacher
this teacher CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH!!! it is hard to understand him he dosen't cover all the material on tests. He is really hard to understand and has problums copying his notes on the bord he will forget to write a number or letter and the whole class gets lost.
This man cannot speak english and refuses to correct himself when he misspeaks. He refuses to help students when they ask. He doesn't cover all of the material on test and then gets mad at the students for not knowing it. He talks down to his students and makes the entire class feel bad about themselves. Do Not Take His Class If You Can Help It!
He is the worst math teacher that I have ever had!
The guy cant speak enlgish very well. Difficult to understand what hes saying. I think he means well he just doesnt know how to help individually. Doesnt go over tests well. Grades difficult.
I have never struggled in a math class- but I did in this one. He spends too much time going over the review/easy stuff and speeds through the stuff we need to learn. I found it easier to learn from the solutions manual! The attendance points help, but make sure to buy the solutions manual! I'd suggest taking someone else if at all possible!
He was very unhelpful. He would explain really easy concepts learned before algebra II, then throw a calc problem at us with very little explanation. I aced calc in HS, but barely got a b- in his class. He also grades tests really hard. I knew all the material, but if I didn't show every single step, he took off several points. Very frustrating!
He is the worst teacher ever. I dont think there is any other teacher in this university who is that rude. I would ask everybody to not to take him.
you have seen the other ratings... all true. all i can say is that if you have to either take him or delay your graduation...unless you are really good at math definately go with the latter.
ok, so he's stodgy. but if you've gotten this far in your college career, profs expect you to know your stuff! If you can't prep for class, don't know how to get questions answered outside of class, and can't resolve small problems before they become big ones - then maybe you should change your major. Don't expext hand-holding at this point!
for me he was very hard to understand, he doesnt know how to pronounce alot of word. eg person= % and "suck-less"= success. He also makes you feel like an idiot when you ask questions and only sometimes he will answer what you ask, (if he understands what your asking). He also reads out of the book when behind, instead of doing examples.
Although he is foreign which makes him difficult to understand, he is very helpful and gives you everything you need to know before quizzes and tests. He almost makes it impossible for you to do bad in his class because he is so helpful. Awesome professor definately take him, you won't regret it!
If you are really bad at math/have a hard time grasping concepts, I would not recomend this professor. He always tells students what is on the exams and quizzes, and will do problems in class or in his office. However, he has trouble understanding students' questions, so in some ways, you have to be able to figure material out for yourself.
Dont take this one if you want better than a C. He told us that is all we should get. Thiswas a very stressful class. When he talks too fast you can not understamd him. He can go through 4 sections in less than an hour. basicly you are teaching yourself. He tells you what is on the tests then puts the hardest problems on it. Go to Delta for math.
The absolute rock-bottom worst college professor I've ever had. He once delayed class for about 5 minutes to ask people how to pronounce the word catapult ("karrapar"). One exam I had all the correct answers but didn't show my work how he wanted me to, so he failed me. Had to withdraw/pass at the last minute & wasted my $$. Got my A at Delta
He is really excited about math. I look forward to going to class everyday. He makes calc intense. He may have a little accent but its not hard to understand at all. I would say that most of these rating are not correct. Hes not good at answering questions sometimes though. Other than that he knows what hes doing.
Teacher is terrible. He's friendly enough, but he's hard to understand, and sometimes stutters, which makes it worse. He's more then willing ot help you at his office, but chastises you in class, or at his office if you take too much time. He believes we should have an initiative to learn this on our own, without him standing over us.
idiot dosent know what hes doing, can hardly undertstand him, says 2 and writes 5, makes a lot of mistakes. i feel like i understand the material that hes trying to teach better than he does from me learning it in high school
Forget it. I took through Calc in high school... Lets just say that was easier than this guy. You can't understand him, he doesn't know what hes doing, yes he tells you what the quiz will be like but its nothing like it. Good luck with him, I'll be lucky to pass!
in terms of teaching math - ick! he makes mistakes a lot which is confunsing, if you didn't understand this math before i took this class i wouldn't have gotten it. in terms of him being a teacher - double ick! he yells at students, he embarassed me in front of the whole class. i would avoid him, there's got to be a better prof out there.
I am not even talking about calculus or basic algebra, I am taking advance math classes and found it appalling that they allow him to teach. When an entire class of advanced math students does not understand you, most teachers would question themselves and wonder why. He is arrogant and might know math but that does not make him a teacher!
Can't really understand what he says in class; he makes more errors than the students; class is really boring; he seems a little too happy which freaks me out; doesn't care if you miss class for a very legitimate reason; quizzes are easy, but tests are harder... DO NOT TAKE HIM OR YOU WILL SUFFER
absolutely horrible! only thing good is that he is at least a happy person but nothing else is good at all! hes not clear on problems, knows what hes doing but can't explain it for you to understand...tests are the worse. honestly your better off trying to teach yourself
I loved goin to math class everyday with Al-Halees. yea the first couple days it was hard to understand him but i got used to it. He really knows his math but does have trouble presenting it but college students dont need to be spoonfed! this professor is good so dont get the wrong idea from these other ratings.
Worst teacher ever. Try taking tallys of how many times he says "right" in class, you will be amused.
I would highly recommend NOT taking this professor. He is to difficult to understand not only with his accent but how he presents the material. He is rude and disrespectful to his students and makes you feel that you are incompetent if you do not understand a certain concept. His tests are nothing like he says they are. IT'S A JOKE!
SVSU is on academic probation in the math department, this man is one of the reasons. Do not take him. He is arrogant, nasty and does not care about the students.
He did try to help the students, but I could never understand him very well, and he always treated me like I was stupid.
Why cant SVSU just have teachers with NO ACCENTS. Gets mad when students talk with each other even if about math problem, but the real problem is concetrating past his accent "RIGHT?!" you'll hear that alot. Hard quizzes, stiff grader, DO NOT TAKE..this guy is why math at SVSU is not worth the time...GO TO DELTA, you will learn a lot more! trust me
Solid professor who knows the material. His test review guides are almost exactly like the tests, which aren't too bad. He does make some mistakes while working examples, but you just have to correct him. He's helpful, but doesn't always get what you are asking. Do the homework and read the book, and it's a pretty straight forward class.
He's horrible. I've never had such a frustrating teacher. He gets mad when you ask questions because he "doesn't have time to lecture and answer questions".... REALLY?! He's very hard to understand (beyond the accent... it's a given with SVSU math.) He tells you one thing, but means another. He makes a lot of mistakes. DO NOT TAKE!
Not a easy A class especially if your not good at Math. He will cover alot of material in a short time frame and sometimes hard to understand. If you are a good student, show up to every class, and show interest in passing he will try to help you. Must do the homework, study for the quizes and test and use the math lab. He is a fair professor.
Would not recommend this professor at all. His accent is difficult to understand and he was poor at explaining course concepts.
Professor Al-Halees is not a bad guy! He will try to help you, and if you can jump the communication barrier he will do what he can. The class was simple for me (review, actually), but he is a good teacher. His homework isn't bad.
He is good at teaching. The accent is a bit confusing at times, but if you show a geniune interest in being succesfull this professor is a good ally.
You basically teach yourself the class. He screws up in class on a regular basis so you have to keep an out on him an tell him when he messes up. Forget about partial create on questions. It's either right or not. The one fun part is that every time he says "De plane" he sounds like the guy from fantasy island.
I won't ever take him again. Hard to understand and takes a longgg time to explain things. He gives you quiz/exam reviews, but exams are still pretty difficult. He does give extra credit for attending class.
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had, after 130+ credits. Bad in every way! Take him if you want your GPA to tank. He shouldn't be even teaching the class I took. Poor explanations, poor teaching style, barely speaks English. My engineering advisor even told me he is on an informal "do not take list". SVSU staff even knows how bad he is.
Horrible professor. Hard to understand and does not care about students and their grades. Should not have a job and he makes quizzes and tests all hard. Would not even consider taking him, hes awful
Never take him. He never answer you questions. His grading scale is horrible.
He is very annoying and you can't ask questions in class or you will have to repeat yourself a million times to he can comprehend. His accent is rough and he makes multiple mistakes throughout the class and it's hard to follow. Open note quizzes are helpful though
Easily the worst professor. While it's clear he has passion for the material, he often gets confused, gives out the wrong information, and is very difficult to understand. His tests are poorly written and confusing. I learned more from copying from the book than from him. If you must take him, show up but copy from the book instead from him.
Horrible lecturer. Always stopping and restarting.
Although he is very passionate about the material, he has a strong accent and when you ask questions he does not comprehend. If you work really hard in this class you can probably get a B or a C he is tough, but also tries to help out in any way he can. Would recommend to someone who is willing to put a lot of time and effort in.
Getting extra credit for coming to class is the only positive thing about having him as a teacher. You can not understand a word he says and he does not even teach very well. Make him a last choice for a professor!
Worst professor I have ever had in my life. Has a heavy accent. Doesn't speak in complete sentences. He doesn't even teach, he just writes the lesson on the board and says the stuff he's thinking in his head out loud. Also, he makes about 5-6 mistakes on the lesson every class and doesn't even do HW problems on the board correctly.
I truly cannot fit my description of how bad this teacher is in the 350 characters available. I am 4 days away from my final and I still don't know what my grade in the class is because he does not post them. 25 kids showed up for the 1st day of class and now there are only 7 of us. I highly recommend this class if you enjoy high levels of stress.
He has an accent that is difficult to understand, but you get used to it after a few weeks. Come to class, you get extra credit for attendance. His tests are tough, expects you to do the work his way, DONT skip steps when solving problems. He gives multiple quizzes along the way. He really loves what he teaches, he just is a little confusing.
Hasan is a terrible calculus teacher. He teachers the class in a very choppy unorthodox fashion. While in his class, the math dept. was put on probation because of the amount of people that were failing his class. Hes rude when you ask questions. Also, you can only understand him about 60% of the time. Constantly makes mistakes on the board as well
Dr. Hasan Enjoys what He does, He tends to rush towards the end Of Lectures, He makes sure to Write down what You need to know how to use, If you can do the homework you will pass the class, Plan on spending time in the tutoring center for Clarity. He is very logical in his approach to teaching. Dont Expect a spoon Feeding.
Hasan gives extra credit for attendance and has quizzes, which help boost grades. He will also drop your lowest quiz grade at the end of the semester. Homework is typically optional, but do it anyway. It's the only way you'll learn. And do NOT be afraid to ask questions, he is passionate about the subject and loves to help.
Dr. Halees wrote on the whiteboard for 2 hours every class, and was willing to answer questions. The problem is he could not understand the questions the class asked. I received a B+ in Calc 3 but did not pass a single exam in this class. He is an extremely tough grader, offering almost no partial credit. He is not a very nice person either. Don't.
If you don't already have a clear understanding of math then don't take his classes. He is very hard to follow during lecture, he often shows ways to do something and then proceeds to tell you that it's not how you should do it. He likes it when you ask questions, but never understands what is being asked. His accent is also hard to understand.
What can I say about professor halees, first he is rude to all students. Secondly he is very confusing because halfway through a problem he'll realize he messed it up. we had 22+ kids in our class to start and now we have 8 because so many people wouldn't put up with his attitude and poor teaching skills. Stay away if possible. Terrible expirence.
Hasan is the worst math professor Ive ever had. The material in the course wasnt horribly difficult, but if it had been it would have been difficult to pass. He grades tests very hard and if you dont do it exactly how he wants it, expect several points taken off. Lectures were either very slow (barely covering a section in a day) or too fast.
This prof is the WORST I've ever had. final exam was NOTHING like the review sheet! half the time he doesn't even write notes on the board, instead he has worked out problems on a sheet of paper that he just shows under the projector but its impossible to copy down in your notes because he goes over them so fast. tough grader, no partial credit.
Although Hasan is extremely passionate about math, he is often rude to students, and his thick accent can make it difficult to learn effectively. Furthermore, he is an EXTREMELY tough grader, often docking points for nit-picky details. One positive, however, is that he offers a good deal of extra credit, given you show up to class every session.
Don't use your phone in class, he WILL catch you if you are. Do the homework because most of the quizzes have questions that come directly out of the homework. Overall, he's an okay teacher. I'm learning from him, but I also do a lot of self-teaching if I want to go in-depth on a topic he barely brushed over in the lecture.
At first he is hard to understand, but eventually you will get used to it. Unfortunately, he has a very hard time understanding students' questions and often times does not answer them correctly because he didn't understand the question. The tests/quizzes are quite hard. He is not reliable for help outside of class. Attendance extra credit :)
WORST TEACHER I HAVE HAD HERE. Doesn't understand when you ask him questions. the only way you'll get points backs if you cry. he is very rude and is very tough with grading. Quizzes are nothing like exams. Attendance is extra credit but if you miss class you'll fail.
This guy is not rude and truly does care if you do good or not. He does make a lot of mistakes during lecture. He does not hear well also, but he does everything you can think of but give you the exact questions on the exams. You will take a lot of quizzes, but only the best 8 count. Plus you get 1 extra credit point for showing up to each lecture.
skip this professor you won't pass. I have spend 6 hour every weekend in library to pass this class. I made it with C.
Very funny, but not a very good teacher. Quizes seem to be rigged, and while this professor is very smart and knows the material, you will most likely not learn anything and fail.
Took calculus in high school received a B- . Good Luck Passing if he's your professor lol. Odds are you won't be able to understand him, and the quizzes are completely a hoax.
Guy is the worst; he springs homework on you the night before it's due and demands it be done for credit, he is extremely unclear on his expectations, he calls out students for using the restroom during lecture (which is a straight hour+ of him belaboring simple points), and he tells us to do certain things but then might hold it against our grade.
This is the worst experience I have ever had with a teacher. This man is not only ridiculously tough on the way he grades the examshe marked several problems wrong that were not in fact wrong -double checked that with other instructors-, and he refuses to admit error on his part. Please save yourself the trouble of having to drop a class
Hasan is hands down the worst professor I have had at SVSU. Lectures consist of copying word-for-word statements from the book, rude comments, and confusing examples. Most examples are from an outdated version of the book. Hasan is a prime example of why I regret coming to SVSU for a Math degree. Avoid if possible.
WORST Professor. Avoid at all costs. Waste your time, literally. Says you'll have a quiz next class, next class comes and you studied for nothing bc he forgets he even said there was a quiz! Assigns Hw at 8pm the night b4 it's due! Doesnt show all work on board but EXPECTS you to show all work on quizzes/tests. Spend money on a better professor!
He is the worst professor I have had at SVSU. He is hard to understand. If you try to go to him for help, he will make you even more confused and act like you are stupid for not knowing the answer.
Bring a pillow to this class because you will not understand anything that comes out of his mouth. If you are on your phone, oh boy, he will spend 20 mins insulting you in front of everyone but you will still not understand anything that comes out of his mouth. I learned only one thing in the class that is there were 29 chairs in his class.
Along with all of the math department, Professor Al-Halees is one of the worst math professors here. When he assigns homework he hardly goes over the problems the next class period. He doesnt care for his students. If you have him you better run. Furthermore, half the time when were learning a topic he doesnt know what hes writing!
1. did not make sense when lecturing 2. gave the girl who sat next to me a higher grade than me even though we did the same work and got the same answer 3. called me out in class and took away my points for phone usage when I was on my calculator 4. added a curve to all the assignments at the end because no one in the class was passing at the time
Didn't explain the testing system and didn't explain anything ever just got the lecture notes. I would never take him again.
Absolutely terrible. Doesn't care about his students at all, I learned everything from attempting to watch YouTube videos. Switch out if you can, I wish I did.
I'm sure that he is a sweet man but his accent is very difficult to understand and it is nearly impossible to ask him questions because he won't understand you. You will have to basically teach yourself on almost every topic. I would switch out or find another professor.
At the beginning of the semester, he forced us to buy an access code ($100) to be able to take the exams online. We did the first exam online and the rest were written. It's difficult to understand him and he has trouble understanding the students as well.
Absolutely horrible. I showed up to every class except one, did all of my homework, and I was barely able to get a B. The class average on both of the paper exams (one midterm and one final) was below a 50% AND HE DID NOT CURVE. He also uses WebAssign, but never teaches you how to use it and only uses it for exams, so teach yourself before.
Worst professor at SVSU hands down. It's a wonder how Hassan is still allowed to teach, let alone in a college setting. Lectures make no sense and offers no help when I reached out for assistance on the homework. This class is a joke in the worst way possible. I've tried to contact the Dean but the Dean did absolutely nothing. Avoid at all costs
He will make you pay $100 for WebAssign just to use it once. He will then copy and paste the bold from the textbook into a word document and read it to you. Don't ask him questions, he doesn't like that. Good Luck!
Worst professor I've ever had. The class is a hostile learning environment because he will yell at you if you try to ask questions. He also makes a lot of small mistakes while doing his math which gives a bad example problem to students and he grades on his wrong answers.
I do not recommend a class taught by Hasan. Not only does he not truly teach the materials, but he also expects you to know about the material and some. I ended up dropping this class because of the way he taught. Also just order the book online through the class code he sends, it's cheaper and saves you a headache.
This professor missed the first two weeks of the semester and even after returning he required us to submit homework with the most arbitrary and unclear guidelines I've seen in a class. Never felt comfortable asking questions. Required a $100 webassign token for the exams you likely will fail because the lectures and notes are incomprehensible.
I took this class knowing the history of the SVSU math department and thought, "I have never had trouble with difficult professors before. I should be fine." Hasan made us purchase a $100 online tool that was used only once. He does not give feedback, and gets angry when you ask questions in class. Avoid him at all costs if you care about learning.
That fact that I went to SVSU back in 2005, left in 2011, then came back in 2021....and this guy is still here speaks a lot about the university and, in particular, the math department. AVOID AT ALL COST! Take the math course online somewhere, or even Delta. It would be much cheaper and useful than taking math here. STAY AWAY FROM THIS JERK!
Assignments are small/easy. Pop quizzes at beginnings of every lecture. Attendance is not mandatory. Dropped out instantly after the first class because he has a thick accent and wearing a mask. With English not being his first language it is EXTREMELY difficult to understand and pay attention, which is highly important in math.
This professor has a heavy accent which makes learning lecture more difficult. You often do a practice problem or two and move on to a new topic. Would not recommend.
His grading is EXTREME, and not at all consistent from person to person. You will be teaching yourself because he mostly just lectures straight out of the book. He is difficult to understand and constantly makes mistakes. Unless you are already great at every topic in this course, do not waste your money taking it with him.
Yall, please stay away from this guy for your own mental health
The worst excuse of a human pretending to be a professor. Horrifically unprofessional, unorganized, entitled, and disgustingly rude. Never registered for books, didnt upload a canvas page, didnt give a syllabus until the 2nd class with homework expected to be due, emailed him before said class about not having a book, and never received a response.
The whole class is exams and his exams are very tough. No standards in grading. Seems to just grade based on the mood he is in. Overall just a grumpy old man. Would not take again.
Worst Math professor I have ever had in my life. You cannot understand him, he makes constant mistakes when doing problems in class and when you try to question him or ask him about it he snaps back at you for interrupting. Seriously would never ever recommend even if there is no one else, it's not worth taking it. Just wait for the next semester.
I am going to say this as nicely as I can. Please do not enroll in his class. He is the definition of incorrigible. What it comes down to is his personality. Wait a year if you have to, don't take his class if it is a pre req for you. Even teaching yourself won't help you.
The worst teacher I have ever had, can't understand him because of his accent. He cannot hear you when you ask a question or try to correct him. Was graded on four separate assignments; Exam 1, Exam 2, Exam 3, and the final, with attendance counting as a point of extra credit. No homework or quizzes to make sure you are learning the material.
Was not present for first 3 weeks of class, did not post syllabus until 4th week. Only graded on 3 exams (9 questions) and a final. Constantly makes mistakes in lecture or is crossing out half a problem he just did wrong. Worst professor I have ever had/met in my life. Offers no help whatsoever. Please save yourself the mental breakdowns and don't.
Hasan's class is tough with exams that can be grading inconsistent. However, Unstuck AI proved helpful for test prep. Avoid asking questions, but the lectures are worth attending.
Dropped class after one day, changed majors.
Every time someone asks a question they are met with a response that makes you feel like an idiot or that you should've never asked in the first place. Also, he is the hardest grader. On test 1, I had three questions where the answer was right, but I received 0 credit. This added up to -24 total. That's right, -24 on three correct answers.
literally only grades are 3 midterm exams, the final, and then attendance/homework but only 1 point a piece. so 24 bonus points with 400 points from exams and that's it. does not explain why a method is a method, breezes through an example for every concept, teaches for example the simpson rule and no other calc ii prof teaches it.
350 words is not nearly enough to WARN YOU AGAINST THIS MAN. Stay away from him if possible. He's stubborn, inconsiderate, and CANNOT communicate to save himself. Assignments weren't difficult, but he constantly gave instructions that made sense to him, but were not clear, then proceeded to mark down even though you completed what was asked.
Don't. This is the worst teacher/professor I've ever had. About 30% of my class this semester failed the class in a previous semester by the same teacher. Lectures all class, doesn't take questions, inconsistent grading, fall asleep before you understand a few of his words, and his handwriting is somehow worse. DONT TAKE HIM. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED..
If I could give less than 1. Graded off exams only, he is amazing at math, but I've never met somebody with less of an ability to teach(I can't stress this enough). His accent is SO thick you probably won't be able to understand him, his the toughest grader I've ever seen, don't bother trying to ask questions. Rude, horrible lectures, just don't.
Absolutely awful. Often ignored students questions and came unprepared to class. His lectures are straight from the book but somehow full of typos. Rarely posted notes on time. Avoid at all costs
AVOID, if you can't say a prayer, never put so much work into a class for an A. Grade is 3 exams + final. Get one extra credit point per class if you fully attend the lecture, no phone, and turn in the assignment 100% done, totals to 24 EC points attached to the final. Find the textbook online and the solutions pdf, you'll be teaching yourself.
Very difficult prof. He doesn't take questions well and the 'lectures' are just him reading off of the notes he sends out after class. If it gives you any idea, the first week he told a student to 'stop wasting everyone's time' because the guy forgot to put his name on his homework. Don't take him. Just don't.
If you show up everyday, turn in every assignment fully done and not have your phone out he will give 24 EC points. Otherwise your grade is based ONLY on exams. Worked hard for a B- only to be tanked on the final because we had less than 3 weeks to learn our last 3 chapters instead of 5 weeks. TAKE PICS OF EXAM REVIEW & ANSWERS, fast paced on that.
Hasan definitely isn't the best professor, but he isn't awful. He gives you 24 EC points if you show up to every class. Tells you almost exactly what will be on the exam, and gave 10 EC points at the end to curve my grade to an A. His lectures are boring. Exams are usually fair with one or two hard questions. The worst part is his teaching style.
