Great teacher! Lectures were very interesting and sometimes funny. He gives a lot of extra credit and really wants students to do well.
awesome
Great teacher
If you do all the recommended work it's easy. Very good lecturer and a great guy.
Moderately entertaining, gives good examples so you can understand/remember. Not hard-all that's required is to sit, listen, and take a few notes on the powerpoint printouts, a tiny bit of easy hw, and easy tests. Lots of extra credit-he's nice and wants everyone to do well.
Trys to make the class interestinglots of extra credit, and willing to make time for his students
He is THE GREATEST professor I have had so far! He does a lot for his students and he really wants them to do well! He is VERY willing to help students and he is funny and entertaining!
Great teacher, lots of extra credit. Must know the examples he gives in class.
He's one of my favorite professors in Emory. He explains every thing super clear and gives a lot of extra credits. You can learn most of the materials by just paying attention in class. f you go to the class, print out the power points and take some notes of the examples he gives in class, you will easily get an A.
Not that great - he isn't very clear and if you miss class if you're sick of anything, you're practically screwed. Terrible at responding to emails. Didn't find him helpful. Don't take unless you need to take Econ
Really nice guy and makes the material interesting. Pretty important to go to every class because his in class examples show up on tests. Gives a lot of extra credit. Definitely take Dr. Dez if you can.
There are many bonus points. Midterms and final are all based on lectures. A really nice and helpful professor. Definitely recommend!
He's amazing. He is willing to answer questions and explains concepts well. He's also very funny and engaging in lectures and gives lots of bonus points. The only problem is that his tests are only worth about 40 points so if you only miss a couple questions it affects your grade. Tests are based dominantly on lectures. Would definitely recommend!!
Dr. Dezhbakhsh is the type of professor who makes the undergrad experience worth it.
Professor Dezhbakhsh is engaging, friendly, and funny! The tests are based on the lectures and in class examples, so if you pay attention in class you'll do well. If you do poorly on a test there are always chances to earn extra credit, like through the experiments, which are fun and help demonstrate the concepts we learn in class.
Amazing professor. Great lectures. Bonus points system is very helpful.
He is really funny, and keeps class engaging.
Dr. Dez is by far my favorite professor at Emory. He's such a great guy and makes his lectures interesting. He gives bonus points that can really bring your grade up even if you struggled with the exams. He knows what he's talking about and is a really smart and funny guy. Definitely take him if you can.
Professor Dezhbakhsh is incredible, gives great examples, and is also pretty entertaining. Technically the entire grade is based off three tests, but he gives a bunch of bonus points. Plus he's the chair of the department so he's quite experienced.
Dezhbakhsh is amazing. His lectures are engaging, lucid, and occasionally funny. His knowledge on the subject is immense and the examples he provide add a tinge of life to a subject that can be rather dry. The tests are fair and lean towards the easy side. The bonus points he give should easily push most students to the A- or A range.
Professor Hashem is awesome! He is nice, sweet and hilarious. He is super smart and expects a certain level of effort. Second midterm was SO hard, bonus points are great but they make up for the tough tests rather than making your grade higher. Also loved his sweater collection.
Dr. Dez give the best lectures at Emory and it is always engaging. He also provides plenty of extra-credit points for generally show up and doing your work, so even though the test can be tricky you should get an A
He is so friendly. And there are many opportunities for bonus point. The attendance is not required.
Best guy I've ever met. Difficult topics, but not impossible. Take this class regardless of your major. You won't regret it
Best guy ever and an amazing lecturer!!!! He makes me want to major in economics. Class was not too hard but I learned a ton. No curve but LOTS of extra credit.
All round excellent lectures, he is a hilarious guy too. Perhaps the perfect professor for an ECON101 class. He gives A LOT of bonus points, so if you attend class, take notes, do your homework and study before the exams, you should have no trouble getting an A.
He is super funny and nice, but tests are crazy hard. Incredibly lecture based (I recommend asking him if you can record his lectures), I never even bought or read a book. He gives tons of bonus points and uses this to balance out some of the hard questions on his exams. Homework and quizzes are only for extra credit, so a low maintenance class
Very engaging, always enjoyed the lectures. Pay attention to in class examples!
He is incredibly interesting, funny, and easy to understand and follow, but if you mess up either of your midterms it will be difficult to come back. Each midterm is 40% of your semester grade, so if you do well you have a lot of the class behind you, but if you fail theres no coming back
The best class to start learning about economics. With the addition of the textbook (which is in no way mandatory), Dez makes the material super easy to understand. He is so funny and nice and if you go to office hours, it will make your life a lot easier. His tests are challenging, but if you try you will do well.
Very good lecturer, and I found it easy to pay attention during the class. The bonus point system is forgiving and makes getting a good grade much easier. The class is still very exam heavy, however. The first exam wasn't bad, the second was mediocre, and the third didn't even seem to be over the material covered in class. Still liked the class tho
Professor Dezhbakhsh is an excellent economics professor. Easy A if you pay attention to the classes and do the homework.
Dezhbakhsh is probably the best professor I have ever had. He obviously has a lot of experience in the field and is very widely respected. His class is structured in a way that means if you work hard you will do well. Even though the class I took was a large lecture, he still was available to talk to and wanted to get to know his students.
Dr. Dezhbakhsh is an excellent professor. His lectures are engaging and he clearly explains the material. He assigns textbook readings to help students get a fuller understanding of the concepts, but exams are based almost solely on the content of the lectures. Dr. D is funny and makes a 200 person class seem like a 20 person class.
I really liked Dezhbakhsh as my first economics professor. The exams are weighted heavily but take advantage of all the extra credit he gives because it will really make a difference. Many of his examples are used on the exams so pay attention to those details. If you put the effort in for this class you will reap the benefits. He is super engaging
Offers a lot of bonus points, which is great. However, your grade is based on 3 exams (40%, 40%, 20%) and tests are challenging. This class is not an easy A. Wouldn't recommend taking this class if you are not an Econ major. Did not find him helpful
Do not take this class unless you really need to. You will have three exams and that is it. Therefore, no chance to fail. Requires textbook but all the needed information is on the slides I think. Skip class - won't pass
Prof. Dezhbakhsh gives great lectures that have everything you need to know for exams. Your grade is basically determined by three exams but he gives lots of opportunities for extra points to help you.
Dezhbakhsh is really great. His lectures are easy to follow, he is super funny and cares about his students a lot. His class may be my favorite so far. The class is hard however, with your entire grade based around three tests (40%, 40%, 20%). Go to class and the review sessions, ask for help when you need it, and you should be fine.
Great lectures and engaging professor, highly recommend
Go to class. Even though attendance isn't mandatory, his tests are ENTIRELY lecture-based. The class is made up of two 40% midterms and a 20% non-cumulative final. He boosts everyone's grade by 6-8% at the end of the semester, so everyone that tries should get an A-/A. He clearly has a lot of experience in Economics and explains the concepts well.
Respected- Has valuable amount of credibility, given that he is the Chairman of the Economics Department. Inspirational- Personally, he was the one who got me to love Economics in the first place (now planning to minor in Econ)! Amazing Lectures- With a well-versed knowledge in the field, his lectures enabled me to connect how I think to Econ.
There's no homework, you don't need to read the textbook (although it is helpful), and attendance is not mandatory. All you need to do to get an A is make a study guide with his powerpoints and do all the provided practice problems the day before the exam. Ended with over a 100% in the class without putting in a crazy amount of work.
I enjoyed Professor Dezhbakhsh's class for the most part. There's only 3 tests, so I would say be cautious if you are not a great test taker, but there are opportunities for extra credit. Even though attendance is not mandatory, the tests are heavily based on the lectures and applications of the material. He is a great person and really funny too!
Dezhbakhsh is a very good professor. He is funny while he lectures, he gives you so many points to get a good grade in the class, and the tests are representative of what you read and learn from the lectures.
I loved him. He's a great teacher and cares about students. Tests were challenging because they are mainly based on applying concept we learn in class but he uses a lot of in-class examples. You have to go to class and pay attention well, which isn't hard because he makes his lectures interesting. Lots of bonus from pop quizzes help your grade.
Professor Dezhbakhsh has been one of my favorite professors at Emory. He is really caring and funny, but also explains the content in a very engaging way. His classes are test-heavy, but manageable if you go to lecture.
Great professor with a very kind demeanor. Uses realistic examples in class. Tests are a bit tricky but I have never taken an Economics class prior to entering college, so that may be a lack of background knowledge. Offers a lot of bonus points, which is great for an overall tough Economics department at Emory.
Professor Dezhbakhsh is fantastic. Lectures are engaging and he gives really helpful examples. Willing to help outside of class and I highly recommend utilizing his office hours. There are a ton of extra credit opportunities - if you work hard it will pay off. He is kind and hilarious - best Econ professor out there!
%40 on the final and %30 on the midterm. Meaning %70 of the final grade is based on two sheets of paper. Dont take this class as an easy A, it isnt.
HD is overall a nice guy. His lectures are sleepy and hard to pay attention to, but provide a lot of useful information. Tests are very hard, and you have to do loads of questions before it. The group project is a 20-page paper, which is not funny. The class is much harder than AP microeconomics. Not a bad choice overall.
Pop quizzes so attendance is pretty much mandatory. Very test heavy. Tests are really confusing. All the tests and material are very outdated. Very smart guy but the course isnt great.
My favorite professor and class this semester! Gives so much extra credit and the pop quizzes are easy because the content is from that day's lecture. Midterm and final on curve so even if you miss a few questions you can still get over 100%. Studying for midterm and final is very time consuming, but if you do the practice problems you'll do well.
You can tell that MD is a well knowledgeable professor. His lectures are pretty engaging, especially since he likes to joke a lot. Pop quizzes are pretty straightforward since you're tested on what you literally just learned. If you pay attention, study efficiently, and go to his office hours you will pass (even if you struggle w the topic like me)
I really like him as his class lectures. He made concepts very easy to understand, and gave a lot of bonus points. That being said, two tests are 70% of your grade, and for the final, most of it wasn't even tested on concepts, it was on small random memorization things from the powerpoint/lecture.
Dr. D is an amazing professor. His lectures are organized and delivered in a coherent manner. Assignments and the exams are largely based on the material covered in class.
Pop quizzes are 21% of your grade, the final/midterm is worth a good % as well. I like him as a person, but he is very lecture-heavy. The midterm was ok, but the final was unnecessarily hard. He does offer extra credit which is nice, but he covers a lot of content without specifying what you should focus more on for quizzes, or the midterm/final.
Hashem is a fantastic professor with a great sense of style and humor. However, he gives 10 or so pop quizzes a semester that are easy to pass if you pay attention because they are ENTIRELY based on what he has said in the lecture. He drops around 3 quizzes at the end of the semester however. His homework isnt too hard and counts as extra credit.
My best advice is click on all the links in canvas so you get a high "engagement" grade. Easy A with lots of extra credit.
Both exams are entirely based on lecture-specific examples, so if you don't attend class it is impossible to get a good grade. Dezhbakhsh also gives 10 in-class pop quizzes (only 7 count) worth around 20% of your final grade. He grades participation even though it is a lecture class, and annoyingly does not give full points.
Literally was so easy but I still learned a lot. Wasn't hard even if you've never taken macro before. Only 2 exams, the midterm and final. Gives a good amount of bonus points but does give pop quizzes but they're pretty easy as they are usually based on the lecture we just had.
On top of being an expert in Econ, Professor Dez is engaging, funny, and just an awesome guy. Midterm and final make up a huge chunk of your grade, but luckily he gives bonus points to help out. Although he doesn't curve, he makes the tests out of less questions than they actually are for your benefit. I wasn't into Econ very much until this class!
Midterm is 30% of grade, final is 40% of grade making the class very test-heavy. If you don't do well on the pop quizzes (21%) of your grade then it is hard to bring it up. Although he does offer bonus points there are only 7 making it a very low percentage, along with the engagement. Very lecture heavy and tends to move quick.
SO TEST HEAVY Midterm one was worth 30% of our grade and the final 40%, the average on the final was a 68% no curve, however he does give around 7% of extra credit(at least thats what he claims no one actually got 7 percent of extra credit the mean for extra credit was 4.8) Honestly do not reccomend him as a professor although his lectures are fine
Great teacher and had interesting topics but was very test heavy. Very interesting class but as the semester went on, the spark fizzled and his class became quite boring.
For a Micro 101 class and compared to other sections this was very difficult. One midterm and a final which makes up 70% of your grade. While the class is interesting, if you do not do well on the final your hard work in the semester could be for nothing.
Though lecture content is kind of dry, Dr. D is always cracking jokes. He offers lots of opportunities for extra credit, so grades are cushioned. Midterm and final were primarily based on class examples (don't need to read textbook). A lot of pop quizzes (pay attention in class) and click on all hw links for a good engagement grade. recommend fs.
Realistic Review: Hashem is an overall great professor and genuinely made the course enjoyable. Quizzes are easy, just listen in class. Content is not hard but beware, his tests are very real-life/application-based rather than concepts. You could understand the content perfectly but fail. Memorize the examples in class! Ended with like 103%.
Very nice and interesting lectures. Great professor, but I had a lot of difficulty with the midterm and final. The questions are ultra specific and not at all like the practice questions. Overall, learned a lot from Hashem.
He was a great professor, taught well. However, the midterm and final make up for 70% of the grade. The final was very hard, nothing like the practice questions. He gives 7% extra credit but no one gets full. I didnt like how test heavy this class was. Would not recommend, especially for econ 101 this is harder than i thought!!
His exams are nothing like what we learned from lectures, and most of the students do poorly on them. However, he gives out a lot of extra credits, which compensate for the grades you got deducted from exams. Also, he has 10 pop quizzes throughout the entire semester and they make attendance virtually mandatory. Be aware
Attend classes and listen carefully because lines from class can and would make it into your exams. That said, he gives extra credit points to virtually everyone and pop quizzes are based on things that were just taught and are hardly difficult. Tests make up majority of your grade so you'll have to put in effort.
Great Professor, gave fun lectures and lots of extra credit. Exams make up the majority of your grade but the content's relatively easy to understand. Attendance isn't mandatory but coming to class is an easy way to get bonus points on your exams.
legitimately the best professsor i've ever had, single-handedly convinced me to drop premed and be an econ major. just go to all the classes and you'll be fine. major slay!
The best professor for Micro. He uses fun and accessible examples that make lectures as engaging as they can get for the topics covered. He gives tons of extra credit which makes it easy to get a good grade. Tests are very fair, usually multiple choice and free response, with an emphasis on in class examples. The textbook was pretty useless.
Best professor I've ever had in my life. Gives lots of extra credit in the form of fun games, and takes the winners out for coffee. Great lectures and is a funny guy.
A very caring teacher that listens to students. Got rid of pop quizzes, gave more time on quizzes, and changes his office hours to be more accessible, upon students' requests. Inspirational and passionate about what he teaches. One of the best professors I've ever had!
Great head
Absolutely hilarious. He will shame you if you get a 6/34 on your test but his class really is not hard.
Great professor! Gives a lot of extra credit and takes game winners on outings. Tests are insanely hard. He's very accommodating to what the students need and will be very open to adjusting his class for his students' needs/wants.
Made uninteresting material engaging and come to life. A great lecturer, who actually wants students to get something out of the class. Tests are hard, especially annoying since the midterm and final are 75% of your total grade, but he gives quizzes and extra credit to even things out.
An amazing lecturer who takes what could be a dry subject and makes it super engaging and relevant. Sometimes comes off as snobby, but for an intro class, he's a great choice. The content itself is easy, but the midterm and final make up 75% of the grade, and many questions ask for verbatim quotes from lectures, so pay attention.
Entertaining, funny and kind, professor Dezhbakhsh teaches a class so easy that it gets a little boring. For a quicker pace go to Fin 201 which covers micro and macro.
A very funny and caring professor who genuinely cares about his students. He wants everyone to do their best, and he makes a strong effort to build relationships with students even though the class is fairly large. Just pay attention in class, review the lectures, and do the practice problems! Tests were difficult but there's plenty of extra credit
Dr. Dezhbakhsh makes microeconomics entertaining somehow. He's very funny and very real with his students. He genuinely wants his students to succeed. The tests were somewhat difficult-very lecture heavy and sometimes even stuff he said but not in the slides. But, there is tons of extra credit and the quizzes are mostly simple.
Daddy D was a super good professor. He was very genuine and funny in his lectures. The examples he uses for the concepts explained in the lectures are very helpful and interesting. If you're taking ECON101 you should 100% take it with him. Its an easy A and he gives an enormous amount of extra credit. I got 7 whole extra points to my overall grade.
Lectures are boring. Could be that I didn't like Econ, but he's definitely hard to pay attention to sometimes. He does offer a lot of extra credit though
He is probably the best Econ 101 professor you can have. He is a funny guy who gives a ton of extra credit, and other than the exams there is not much work in the class. The exams are pretty tough though, poorly worded in my opinion, but he gives enough extra credit that you have a significant cushion
Professor Dezhbakhsh is amazing! He knows so much about the topic and genuinely cares about his students doing well. One midterm and final exam. There are quizzes as well. He gives opportunity for bonus points. His lectures were always entertaining. Learned a lot in this class. Highly recommend.
Tests weigh on your grade pretty heavily, but there is so much extra credit in this class it almost doesn't matter. I find his lectures generally more useful than the readings, and much more relevant to the tests themselves, so I'd say the only reason not to take this class is if you are the type who likes to skip often.
Professor Dezhbakhsh is really enthusiastic about his lessons, which makes learning the material easier. Also, there are lots of ways to earn extra credit, so even if you don't do very well on the midterm or final, you still have some room to breathe. Although attendance isn't mandatory, you will be lost in the exam if you don't go to class.
one of emorys best econ professors
Literally the most knowledgable and fair professor. It was a privilege to learn from him. If you show up, pay attention, and do the extra credit, you will do well in the class.
Amazing professor, truly passionate about economics and makes lectures interesting. Test content is heavily based on lectures so don't skip classes. Extra info: - buying the textbook is unnecessary, you won't need it - final exam is harder than the midterm, median score was 76% whereas midterm was 88% - all homework is optional and extra credit
Very exam heavy and likes to be pretentious.
Good professor. Kind and funny guy. Tests weigh heavy on your grade but a large amount of extra credit is given that provides a great buffer. Very possible to get an A even if you don't do amazing on the exams.
Lectures are interesting but can be boring at times. Attendance isn't taken, but you should attend class as he often takes exam questions directly from the examples he gives in the lectures. Need to study beyond the published course material. Tests are hard and do not always reflect the published course material.
pay attention in lectures! he'll tell u on the 1st day of class that u have to b attentive to succeed, and he's not joking. he can b pretty snobby but overall he's a good lecturer and enjoys his job. you'll succeed if ur genuinely interested. go to review sessions. do the optional homework. do bonus assignments.
Prof. D is the best for micro! He is super engaging and so funny. I always enjoyed his lectures. The midterm and final count for a lot of the grade and they were pretty difficult but not too terrible. I definitely recommend him.
Amazing professor. If you have the chance to take him, do it.
The content of the course is clear, and each lecture is condensed into a powerpoint, however it needed to be supplemented by the textbook. The midterm was more difficult than the homework questions. He gives a lot of extra credit and allows you to get some questions wrong on tests and still get full marks, so there's lots of buffer space.
Many students speak very highly of Dr. Dezhbakhsh and I understand why. The lectures are funny and he takes students out for fancy dinners if they win in-class games (try hard it's worth it). Lots of chances for extra credit, easy midterm test, very hard final (you better study). Makes all slides accessible and basically no homework.
Extremely funny and kind/blunt guy. However, exams and quizzes makeup 80% of this class. Gives a lot of EC with interactive activities in class but doesn't curve. Go to the lectures and do practice Q's - he posts a bunch of them. TA sessions were non -existent, don't take this class if you are not exam savvy, not beginner friendly class structure!!
It's so test heavy. you need to be so tuned into class to do well. Most of his exam questions you can't even study on ur own because you need to be in class. Most of the exams have questions that are specific to class examples he's done so if you miss class you can't get them right
Really great first economics professor at Emory, encouraged me to make economics my major. Lectures are funny and interesting, however exams can be hard so make sure you properly prepare.
Prof. Dezhbakhsh really tries to be a good guy. I've never taken Microeconomics, but he gave a very solid introduction. Tests are difficult, but he gives an insane amount of extra credit. His fatal flaw is how pretentious he is. He mistreats TAs and disregards humility. TL;DR, great professor for getting an A, bad professor for being your friend.
Decent first economics class at Emory. The midterm and final were difficult and were a huge portion of the final grade, and many exam questions came directly from examples discussed in class. Make sure to pay attention in class and do the practice exam questions he posts. He is a pretty good lecturer.
Engaging lecturer, lots of real life examples. Final is worth 45% and is difficult but as long as you pay attention and try to get as much extra credit, you should be good.
Took econ before and sat front row every lecture. Final & midterm will be difficult (bad writing & extrapolated logic). Lecture examples are important (only discussed in-class) for exams. Bonus points important. Would certainly caution first-timers who cram for exams. Prof is a bit pretentious.
Great for intro to micro and gives you everything you need to do well in his class. The lectures and Canvas are organized, there's lots of office hrs, and the tests are challenging but fair. Study hard on the midterm because he takes the top scorers out to dinner, and he's genuinely a nice guy who cares about his students.
Prof D was probably one of my best profs in my first semester. Super knowledgable and generally pretty caring for his students, despite massive class sizes. Quizzes are laughably easy (based only on the content of the lecture on that day) but be wary of exams! Huge part of your grade and they can get difficult. Highly recommend.
Professor gives good lectures, but does not pace himself well. He will spend too much time on one random example and then speed through the actual content for the day. His exams are ludicrously difficult and make up 85% of your grade so it is nearly impossible to do well unless you can remember every minor detail he brings up in class on exams.
Professor Dezhbakhsh was amazing. He had lecture slides of every lecture with voice notes so you could go over. Need to attend lectures because he says stuff in the lectures with come in the tests, but overall easy class, and many extra credit opportunities.
Easy class. There is up to 8.5 points of extra credit. Dezhbakhsh himself is a nice and approachable guy if a little pretentious at times and does the best he can with a dry and kinda BS subject. It is very lecture-heavy but the content itself is very light. Midterms was easy. Final was doable. Quizzes are very easy. I barely studied and did fine.
Great professor. Gives extra credit opportunities. Gives great lectures and homework just leads to bonus. The tests are kind of hard but he gives so many practice problems that it prepares you well for those tests. Would highly recommend him for Econ 101.
Absolutely loved this class such interesting lectures and opportunities for extra credit. Throughout the semester we were given the chance to participate in experimental games that could win you extra credit as well as a dinner outing. As long as you attend the lectures and take notes you will be fine.
Lectures were very interesting and engaging. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about economics and I came out of the class deciding to major in it. Very exam heavy (one midterm exam and one final exam worth 45%) but there are so many extra credit opportunities (optional homeworks, games in class). Overall great professor and interesting class.
Although classes were not "mandatory" I found that a lot of test questions were related to topics specifically mentioned in lectures that would not have been easily understood if one simply looked over the slides on their own. Huge grade boost as long as you participate in the extra credit activities. Final and midterm are mcq.
I love his enthusiasm when teaching, and he's definitely a very engaging lecturer. I took the class purely for GER, but I still learned a lot, and it definitely showed that he really cares about his students. Although attendance is technically not mandatory, there are some questions on the exams that are only covered in lecture, so don't skip!
The course is exam-heavy, attendance isn't mandatory but there are frequent in-class quizzes and the exams draw primarily from the in-class lectures. Overall, the class is easy and there are lots of extra credit opportunities. It's a large lecture so if you like to ask questions or get distracted easily make sure you sit in the front.
Exams and quizzes make up a majority of the grade, but as long as you get enough extra credit the course is easy. Most of the questions are about examples discussed in lectures, so go to class if you want to do better.
Lectures can get a little dry sometimes, but definitely must attend because a lot of what's covered shows up on the exams. 75% of your grade comes from the midterm and final, but there are plenty of extra credit opportunities to help balance things out. TL;DR - Good not great
Attendance is not mandatory but there is a lot of content on the tests that come only from lecture. Your grade is also heavily boosted by bonus points throughout the class which makes the weight of the tests much more manageable. He is also a very nice Professor who cares a lot about success of students. Overall, I would definitely reccomend.
Great professor who clearly cares about the well being of his students. Lots of extra credit opportunities (up to 8.5 points on the semester) if in-class games are won and with participation. If you attend class, pay attention, and study, you will succeed in this course. I highly recommend Dezhbakhsh for any students interested in economics.
Professor Dezhbakhsh is an incredible professor and his class is a must-take if taking micro. His lectures can be a little slow, and it's pretty important to read the textbook and articles he assigns. Don't miss the lectures though, you will fall behind. Exams are tricky, so plan on studying a lot. If you pay attention, it's an easy and fun class!
Great professor, lectures can be boring sometimes but make sure you add his in-class examples and games to your study guide. Tests are extremely difficult but his extra credit opportunity adds a cushion against those lost points. He offers to take many students to restaurants and dessert outings if you do well on tests or games.
Really nice and engaging teacher who made material pretty easy to digest and understand, lots of in class examples. Tests were weighted really heavily and decently hard since it referenced a lot of things mentioned in class so if you weren't super dialed in then you would miss some questions. Apart from that would recommend.
I definitely recommend taking Econ 101 with Professor Dezhbakhsh. He is an amazing teacher who keeps lectures engaging with his sense of humor. He makes the content very accessible and provides several opportunities for extra credit because he really cares about his students' success.
Class is very test heavy but the tests aren't incredibly difficult. If you watch AP Micro videos to review you'll be fine. The content is almost identical.
