Dr. Boustique is such a nice teacher and helps out the student a lot (he even gave us his cell in case we had questions before tests). He was always in a good mood and says the most halarious things. He is from Morocco but he sounds kinda like Borat, which makes this class even better.
Nice!
Always there for help. Funny too. He takes attendance every class.
Fair professor. Replaces the lowest test score with attendance score. Without that I couldn't pass the class. The problem is that professor gets mad sometimes (I would because of some situations caused by studenrs), but he is a super nice guy.
This guy is not a teacher - he is a grad student that has a very nasty side. He thinks a C is a good grade. I felt real bad for some kids that he was nasty to. I don't think it's fair that students can't speak up for fear of being graded down. He gets mad when he's shown to be wrong and won't admit it. He made a lot of mistakes doing examples.
The last post is simply wrong. professor Boustique (By the way, he is a TEACHER at Valencia college. Check that out) is a patient instructor and was always willing to help. Graded quizzes and exams on time and always provided feedback. Making a lot of errors! Nope that's not true at all. He alwys finds different ways to explain things.
Too many quizzes but you will learn a lot
I didn't like him. While he is a nice guy that has nothing to do with his ability to teach. He didn't always test on things covered in class. Plus he would go on and on with problems in class that were hard for him to solve. I have had better math teachers.
Professor Boustique tried his best to make sure the class did well. Your attendance grade replaces one test, and there are also plenty of quizzes to help your score. If you do the HW every night the quizzes are no problem. Would take again. Only problem I had was that exams were hard, but he normalized the curve. Show your work on everything.
He is a very helpful teacher! He makes sure everyone does good and he holds help sessions after class. In class, he gives examples and explains how to do each problem. He gives pre-tests and the real tests are almost identical. Also, if you participate in class, you get extra credit.
I love the clickers.
Super easy class. Just study the practice tests and you'll A the real tests. However, the online homework sucks, but professor Boutique and his assistant help a lot in doing homework. All you need is showing up in the helping sessions.
He goes out of his way to help his students which is definitely a good thing. OFfers help sessions. The online homework system SUCKS. It was still pretty hard to understand the material though & I wouldn't take this class if I knew beforehand what it was like.
Very easy class. I'm not good at math but still received an A. Online homework assignments are very annoying so I suggest you do them with a friend. If you still can't figure it out he's very willing to help you out in the help sessions where he basically answers the problem for you. Tests are super easy if you study the practice exam. Recommended.
He's very easy. The class is the lowest offered at UCF in math and it does show. Take him if you dont need any higher level math req's.
This class is such a joke and he knows it - he doesn't hide his disappointment in having to teach it. The online HW is buggy - but he's understanding if you have a problem. Any questions - definitely go to the after class study with him. He's completely committed to helping students understand the subject. Buying the book isn't necessary.
I don't find that class easy at all; it is full with tricks. I rather take college algebra. The online homework site SUCKS, but the professor is always there to help. Over all, come to class in a regular basis ans do your homework including the practice tests and you should be fine.
LOVED HIM!! i will miss his class- he made it feel like we were a family & somehow even learned every single person's name. so sweet & willing to go out of his way to help. truly wants every student to excel. genuinely nice. some of the math we learn is silly, but its all easy. i would definitely take any class with him again. highly recommend!! :)
He is one of the best calc teachers, but his tests are long and sometimes difficult. He grades generousely though. Would recommend
the best teacher ever. He is willing to help all the time. I loved him. I loved his class definitively recommended. He made all the subject very clear.
Very generous grader and gives NCs with no questions asked. He will thoroughly address any and all questions you ask and make sure everyone understands him. The class was pretty casual and laid back, too.
Prof Boustique is the best teacher. I enjoyed been in his class. He made the subject as easy as he can. Calculus is not easy for a lot of student but he is a good helper. He is willing to come even outside the class schedule.I got an easy A in his class. Highly RECOMMENDED
Very good professor. Fair grader. Likes to see good mathematics and thought process. Difficult class, but Calc II is difficult due to the material. Gives lots of quizzes, but drops a few of the lowest. Go to class because quizzes aren't usually announced. He's always willing to help. Very nice guy that wants students to do well.
Knows what he's doing. Will make work hard since week 1 of class. Unlike my previous calc II teacher, he is always willing to help, just ask.
Good teacher. His lectures are often pretty interesting and he tends to be pretty funny and well-spirited. Covers most of the material pretty well and his tests and quizzes aren't overly challenging. Definitely a tough class, but definitely possible to get an A if you study hard and GO TO CLASS.
Excellent calc 3 teacher. He was a very fair grader. His lectures were great because he always threw in jokes as he taught. There are 3 test plus the final exam. Before his tests, he makes you do a selection of problems that he will put on the test. Do those and you will be just fine. I highly recommend this professor.
I highly recommend this professor for Calc3! He is goofy, extremely nice, and cares about his students. His quizzes are challenging but prepare you for the tests. He grades fair and you'll learn a lot&do well if you do the problems he assigns. I wish I had had him for Calc1&2, and for future courses. I got an A when I didn't think it was possible!
Professor Boustique is an awesome one. He takes such great interest in his students and will stay as long as you need after class to answer all your questions. I thought there was no way I could get an A but he gave me one. His questions can be a bit hard at times but they are definitely doable. Funny guy who loves what he does.
Not an easy class and be careful with the quizzes. I had a solid A and ended with B because of scoring low in the quizzes. He is so unforgiving in the quizzes. Always stays after class to go over any questions you might have. Recommend
An excellent teacher that wants you to succeed and pass the course. One quiz every 1-2 weeks. Quizzes are fair if you study and are also great preparation for tests. He gives review questions for each test and the final, and stays after class to answer any additional questions. Drops lowest two quizzes and final replaces lowest test grade.
Great and funny, but you will be challenged; you will learn a lot.
Dr.B is an amazing instructor of mathematics. He's so passionate about math. He loves his students and he always jokes around with them. The class is always happy when he's around. He's a great guy over all. His tests are challenging, but his notes are AMAZING. He writes sentences on the board! and he's a very merciful grader! Amazing instructor.:)
Take him, hard test. But you WILL learn. He helps you rather than fail you. Recommend him 100% Good guy too.
I dislike all math in general so this class was bound to be difficult for me. Although I struggled with some concepts, attending class, class activities, and the online homework helped me to understand better. Definitely don't skip assignments! They're all important and will help you on the exams!!
I despise math courses, and if your major requires Explorations, it's likely that you do too. This course isn't too difficult, but doing the online work is a must. Homework doesn't take too long, and MALL hours aren't required! Prof. Boustique is kind and caring, but he can get annoyed by students / questions. Attend class for the activity grades.
He's a little all over the place at times, but is so funny and passionate about what he teaches. Tests are not easy, but if you do all the example problems and review the lecture notes in detail, you can pass. Really, really great guy. Definitely would take again.
Boustique is a fantastic professor, I had him for linear algebra. The course itself is tough and he is probably the best teacher you can get for it. He is a fair grader, but the best thing about him is that he actually really cares about helping his students, which is extremely rare at UCF. I'd take any class with him.
Although attendance isn't mandatory, it does count as 10% of the final grade. Lots of homework and quizzes online; however, it really does prepare you for the tests. Drops lowest quiz grade. Gives options for final grades and chooses whichever benefits you most. Extended the homework due date when the website was down.
Boustique is a great professor especially if you're not great at math like me. If you ever have any questions, he's happy to answer them both in class and by email. He made math enjoyable to me which I never thought would happen. You don't need the textbook, only the online code so go the cheapest route!
A nice guy, cares about math, but it is not very good at teaching people who are bad at math. Grades are based on weekly homework, weekly quizzes, 4 tests, and clicker questions. He teaches you only the basics, & you have to teach yourself the rest. Refuses to show grades, isn't much help at reteaching so if you don't get it the first time, sorry!
I'll keep this brief: He doesn't explain the lessons in depth and doesn't provide examples that help you with homework and quizzes
Math at UCF isn't the greatest but he's an decent math professor. He really loves math but isn't the best explainer when it comes to concepts but that's okay. Everything you need is online and there's plenty of practice homework with multiple attempts. If you ask him about an example problem he WILL do it, so don't be afraid to seek help!
Best math professor I've ever had. He really does care about his students. He makes sure that everybody understands the basic concepts before moving on. After every quiz or test, he goes through any problem you want step by step to make sure you understand it. He owns up to his mistakes and is pretty funny. Attend lec and do HW and you will pass.
Super nice and talented lecturer. Is able to clearly convey difficult topics well. Genuinely cares about his students success and stays after every class to help anyone who needs it. His tests are quite fair and completely passable if you take notes and study. He makes calculus fun is very funny. Wish he could teach every math class I have to take
Overall Great Professor! I have him for discrete math and the class itself is hard, but he does a very good job at teaching and is very entertaining. I would definitely recommend taking his class!
Very nice and funny person, good lecturer in his own right. This was his first time teaching discrete - he is very knowledgeable about mathematics and very helpful, especially if you come to him for help one-on-one. Wants to see you succeed. Course material was difficult and went just a little too fast for me to do as well as I'd like.
I took Dr. Boustique a few years ago for a course in DiffyQ during my undergrad. I came back to take COT3100C as a pre-req for a MS in Applied Math, and he's still the brilliant, funny and kindhearted mathematician I remember his being. Granted, his courses were never easy, but he was always fair. Just be prepared to work if you want a good grade.
Took Hatim for COT 3100 over the summer of 2018 and although the class itself is incredibly hard, he does his best for all students to succeed. He is incredibly caring, and always willing to stay extra hours after class to help his students. Super sweet and amazing guy!
He is an amazing professor and keeps his lectures as interesting as possible. However, most of his homework had nothing to do with the exam and that messed me up. But he's a good guy and a good professor and went over all the exams in detail afterward
Professor Boustique was not a very good professor in my opinion. He taught my Calculus 1 class as if we all have taken the class perviously and should understand the concepts of Calculus. I wouldn't recommend taking this class unless you took AP calculus in high school and even then I would be weary.
Without a doubt my favorite teacher/professor Ive ever had. If I could take him for all of my math classes I would. He prepares you for your test really well and although his quizzes are tough they will end up helping you. He is also really funny 11/10 professor.
I took this class online. He would release one video lecture per module (chapter). That was all you had to complete the project and homework. He would skip around a lot and not really get to the point. His tests are extremely difficult and very error-heavy in the code. You were also not allowed to ask a question during the exam.
Surprised that he cared greatly for his students even in an online class. Assignments were pretty easy and grading was incredibly forgiving on most assignments. Tests and final were just a bit difficult but nowhere near impossible.
Professor bustique is hands down the best professor Ive had my entire college career. I struggled a lot during Calc I, and he never gave up on me. He genuinely cares about his students, is very funny, and very honest and fair. I was sad I didnt need any more math courses because I wish I took take another class with him.
Funny guy, but the quizzes are IMPOSSIBLE. If youre not ready to study for a couple hours and really put a lot of effort into teaching yourself, good luck.
The best math professor i've ever had!!!! he really cares about students and explains all concepts so clearly
He knows the material and can explain it well. His tests and quizzes are fairly normal for the course. He grades quickly and fairly. As per usual for math courses at UCF lots of HW and the final is hard. He will work with you to help you pass in all possible ways.
Every exam had catastrophic problems. He was very inconsistent and sometimes did not do anything to address issues that he admitted existed with exams. His slides had many mistakes on key concepts- that or he had no idea; he said that he did not make them. He curved by 2 points. Other profs have curved by 15-20. Class average was a D.
Professor doesn't respond to emails. He doesn't care about your grade, If you fail or accidentally submit an incorrect answer, then you fail. If you fail the class by a few points then you fail. The exams are tricky, and are multiple choice. There are no curves, although the average test grades are usually around 60%-65%.
Engaging lectures despite the large number of students. All tests are multiple choice so no partial credit whatsoever but the practice tests helped a lot.
Dr. Boustique is amazing. His slides are good. His tests are VERY reasonable considering the practice test. The way he teaches and talks to his students is not intimidating or belittling. His office hours are great. If you have a problem understanding something in class, he will explain it thoroughly in office hours. Highly recommend.
Dr Boustique is great. His teaching style is engaging, straight to the point, and clear. He also gives practice tests that resemble the actual test very well. Also, let's not forget that he gave his direct cell phone number to a class of 300+ students. The man really cares about your success in the class, plain and simple. Just don't expect a curve
Prof Boustique has a nice policy in which tests are multiple choice and you get credit for the labs/hw for simply attempting it. He gives practice exams that typically are a good representation for the actual exams. However, the final was absolutely catastrophic. Also, it is HIGHLY recommended you to go tutoring as this is not intuitive material.
I've had Boustique for Intro to C and Discrete. He's an extremely nice professor and means well, but I don't think he always explains CS topics in the clearest fashion. The difficulty of his tests can range from intermediate to difficult, but all in all, his classes are very doable. If you can self-study well, he's definitely your guy.
Good guy. Had no coding experience prior and ended up with an A. Make sure you run the code on the test reviews before tests. Make sure you understand how things work within loops. Will have to devote a lot time to this class. Don't get behind and find good people to work with. One of best feelings was submitting the projects after a long weekend.
Hatim is the man. Not that great at explaining literally anything, but by far the funniest and most passionate professor you will ever have. Always joking with the students but doesn't even have a rudimentary understanding of calculus. Don't take this class if you want a good grade in calc.
Teaches everything you need to know about C programming during class and will answer questions. Laid back guy but serious when he needs to be. Spent 2 hours a week on homework. Tests laid out as they should be and were preceded by a practice test. Good experience.
Professor Boustique was the first professor I had for a programming class. His lectures are recorded and posted online and all projects and HW is based on those lectures. He allows you to work with other students on projects, and later projects in the class you definitely should! Later projects are long and complicated.
Great guy, not a very good professor. Not enough resources for assignments/tests, a lot of self studying. Seems to put the minimum into helping students, unfortunately. I definitely didn't learn enough about C programming in preparation for CS1.
He's horrible. Taking it online you basically learn it yourself. The videos he post are near useless as all he does is make a bunch of mistakes for 30 minutes straight and barely teaches you anything. His homeworks are ok, too bad they only make 10% of your grade. For online, avoid him if you can.
If you don't have a good understanding of basic coding in C then this professor isn't for you. His videos are short focusing on the logic of things rather than memorizing the syntax. He allows working in groups on hws and projects.
Besides the hws and projects which are somewhat difficult, focusing on the posted practice tests is great to learn the stuff that you were thinking you got and to earn a decent score on the real tests. I am actually surprised how he is easily reachable, and you can text or call his cell. nice guy but unforgeving when you miss your hw deadline.
He didn't explain things very well and sometimes he wouldn't finish solving examples. He grades the quizzes by question which made the gradebook a bit confusing.
Dr. Boustique is very helpful and the best professor I've had at UCF. He's very knowledgable and his projects are based on real-world style projects that build on each other. Weekly homework assignments are related to lecture topics. I did not like Java at first when I began, but now I love it. Great professor, 10/10
This class is basically an intro to Java course. Most of what you learn will be coming from a pre-recorded lecture or reading the textbook. There are 3 exams, all of which can be passed pretty easily if you study the practice exams he provides. Also, group projects are pretty straightforward as long as you keep up with the material in class.
Amazing professor that really does care about his students. Very easy to reach outside of class.
He teaches Intro to Discrete differently than the other professors. Homework is graded on completion, but not correctness. Multiple choice exams, but no cheat sheets or open notes. That being said, he is a kind professor and very approachable, but if you really need a good foundation on this material for your major, take it with someone else.
Personally I found the material much more interesting than other math classes. The concepts taught in this class are not straightforward like Calculus and require logic in order to problem solve. Boustique is an excellent professor who explains very well and makes sure you understand everything so long as you put in effort.
This class was very doable in terms of the amount of work. Weekly homework (no extensions!), straightforward tests, and able to work in groups on projects.
Dr. B's OOP section was acceptable. Did not attend a single lecture; everything besides projects/exams are from ZyBooks. ZyBooks spent way too much time on programming fundamentals - stuff we had already covered in Intro to C - and not enough... you know... OOP. Grading was sometimes inconsistent, but he is forgiving and caring. A safe choice.
I took Professor Boustique's online C language class as the last option as I just transferred into UCF as part of direct connect. He is a phenomenal prof. But I think the hands on component of a live Face to Face class is the key to education, Youtube videos, and emails don't cut it. I got very close, but it may just take some more effort.
Professor Boustique is an awesome professor when you get in person atmosphere (even zoom is close), he opens up his life to use as office hours, he gives you his telephone number, he zooms with you to help your understanding, he does whatever it takes. I took him before, but now I had the zoom/ F to F option. This class is zybooks heavy but doable.
Class was set up where the majority of the learning came from ZyBooks and his Zoom meetings were set up to answer questions or go through problems together. Going through and taking notes from the ZyBooks and then watching his Zoom before HW deadlines or exams was my best learning approach for this class. Tests were reasonable and open book.
Never went to a lecture and I have a 100 approaching end of semester. Zybooks readings are straightforward and simple, his quizzes/tests are ridiculously easy. I feel like I learned quite a bit about Java but at the same time I'm not sure because the tests felt like they could be passed by someone who has never seen Java. Class too easy? IDK, maybe
Get ready to teach yourself Discrete Math. Not a pleasant experience. Tests are challenging, but it's doable. Didn't enjoy the professor's sense of humor.
Very caring professor who really enjoys participation in lecture. A lot of online Pearson homework, but that goes for the whole MAS3105 because of the math department. There is a disconnect between the online homework and the exams. If you want to do well on an exam you need to do additional textbook problems, especially ones that more proof-like.
Amazing professor! His lectures are really helpful. So if you're struggling, make sure you attend lectures. He gives out his phone number so you can reach him anytime for questions or help. Fair amount of work. Three projects and three exams (including final). You have sufficient time for homework and projects and his exams are easy. Easy A class!
The way he taught was by working with code on Eclipse using topics that we already read in our homework. The homework is very tedious but helps if youre new to Java. His exams arent too bad if you know the concepts well. Although, in the last exam, some of the questions were very similar to each other which made it harder to find the difference.
Stay on top of the work and you'll be fine. The final exam was VERY similar to the other two exams. Recommended to work in groups but I did it solo with no problem. Projects were easy but a new language can be scary. Java is easy to pick up so it shouldn't be bad as long as you work ahead and pay attention. Very easy A.
He taught new concepts in Calc 2 by working out problems for the class, but would pepper in intentional mistakes that the class would have to catch with no prior understanding of the concept. This made it extremely confusing to try to grasp new concepts during class. There were many pop quizzes as well, which were worth 10% of the grade.
He doesn't give any notes. He teaches by just going through examples that he obviously didn't prepare for. Sometimes he doesn't even know how to solve them. I had to learn everything from those "Watch It" options from the homework. He will try to be fun and call the class boring if they don't converse with him. We just wanted him to teach.
Boustique is a great guy. He explains things clearly and is available to answer questions when you have them. Plenty of practice assignments outside of lecture for you to practice and understand material. Homework is easy to do and gain from. If you're learning Java for the first time, attend lecture and actually do homework. You'll be fine!
Basically have to teach everything to yourself. due dates are unclear and very unresponsive over email.
Spring 2021 Object-oriented programming. He gives excellent and understandable basic examples when introducing new coding concepts. You do need to have prerequisite C under your belt before taking. UCF supplied TAs with prior A in the course who were also easily available during Covid19. Zybooks also used, plan more study time.
be ready to shell out 75 bucks for zybooks homework due weekly. Do exam review that he gives you. The questions are more tricky than hard.
Prof Boustique's lectures were very useful in my experience. He explained concepts with clarity. No major complaints there. Structure-wise, I found his class to work pretty well for me too. We had readings and homeworks usually every week, which were easy. The projects were trickier, but really they weren't that hard, they just took some time.
If you want an easy A, he's your man. If you want to learn Java, I advise not to enroll with this professor. I can see that he's an honest man trying his best during lecture, but honestly I learned more from the assigned homework readings on zyBooks - which btw are very tedious to do. The programming assignments were easy as well.
Gives incredibly easy homeworks but then polar opposite tests which the majority of the class fails. Then refuses to curve, even though the majority of the class fails the tests, and doesn't give any extra credit to help bring your grade up
He's a nice guy, but he really isn't the best at teaching the math. He contradicts himself a lot and makes a lot of mistakes when teaching us lessons. He's a lenient grader though when it comes to the exams. 3 tests and a final that reuses the same questions. If you memorize how he does certain problems verbatim you can get at least a C.
Great professor! Lectures were very engaging and his jokes and sense of humor made them very funny. Programming assignments are not very hard if you are an average programmer. The trickiest part about the class where the tests where you had to trace code, but the study guides he makes helped a lot.
Professor Boustique was an amazing professor. Lectures were very informative and he even joked around during them which made class more enjoyable. The exams were not overly complicated and were most certainly doable as long as you went to class/took notes, did the homework and practiced solving problems.
Lenient on assignment grading and very caring in general. However, it felt like he was learning Java syntax with us, often making mistakes and asking us (Java newcomers) what specific syntax would be. 4 HWs and 3 group projects were easy, but the much more heavily weighted code tracing exams were tricky and didnt feel like what we learned in class.
Professor Boustique is a very nice guy, very hard tests though. His tests are made up of very complicated integrals rather than actually differential equations. He has no remorse for curves even though the class average on every test never exceeded the 50's. Like I said. Nice guy, hard tests. Homework isn't bad. Grade is very dependent on tests.
I bet everyone who give Boustique bad reviews are the students who miss half of the lectures Lol. Hes a solid, fair professor and a chill guy. He makes little mistakes often and is sometimes hard to follow, but hes fair and thats all you need to pass. Just show up, listen and take notes. This course is tough at first but you catch on eventually
do NOT take this class or ANY class with boustique. Terrible professor, lectures are very hard to follow. Projects are extremely unclear, he leaves many directions out, does not seem to care if his students fail. I HIGHLY recommend you steer clear of this abomination of a professor.
His exams have an average of 50% and he doesn't curve. Exams test you on the output of code which certainly is not that hard but with his lack of lecturing skills and lack of providing practice material knowing what types of problems to expect are impossible. He expects you to be a human compiler as if you will not have access to one in industry.
His lectures and course materials were not very helpful and of low quality (pre-recorded lectures had several recording errors, rambling, etc...). This class is 80% self-taught more or less. The tests are brutally difficult and had a 55% class average with no curving.
I swear to god if you take this teacher you will regret it. The material is easy yet he makes the tests to where if you are not a coding nerd you wont pass. Trust me you will not regret not choosing this teacher
Man gives you his phone number at the begining of the semester, that should already tell you about how he is! If your an engineer i would avoid this class its very hard and time consuming! He will have you prepared for cs1!Test are a block of code and you have to know the output. I knew nothing about coding and got an A!
I got through this class by only watching the lectures and doing nothing outside of that. There is at most 1 per week (some weeks have none) and they are no longer than 1 hour, so it was not time consuming at all for me. Most of your grade is from the tests, which are a decent amount harder than all other assignments.
Boustique was good, but his exams became more difficult with time, and not just because of the material. Before the final I had a low A, and after my grade dropped to a high C. Homeworks were a little hit or miss. Quizzes due the nights before exams, difficult but good learning tools for the exam material. Both are done online. Go to class.
Pretty good class. His homework and projects are really good for helping you learn. He doesn't do a good job teaching since he just starts coding with no real explanation or pre teaching like slides. Getting an A will be very hard since a lot of weight is on the tests which are hard to get A's on(multiple choice). But a B is very doable.
Decent class. Learned quite a few things and enjoyed doing the homework and projects. Lecture videos were good but not exceptional. Really disliked the tests and its type of questions as it seems the main purpose is to try and trick you. Overall, nice guy and responds pretty quickly.
This class was online for me, so most of the learning was on you. If you understand java or c or c++, you will think this course is cake. The tests had practice tests, which were very similar to the actual tests. Some tests were curved but not by alot. Homework and projects were easy but not worth alot. Tests make up alot of your grade.
Despite the large class, students were welcomed to interact with this prof. His practice tests helped a TON! He puts more emphasis on how to build the solution without being too concerned with the syntax. I feel I have a good grasp of Java.
Grading scale: A, B, C, D, F. WORST TEACHER EVER HAD. Does NOT know what he is doing. Not that he can't teach, more like he does NOT have knowledge to teach. Frequently asks students how to do things even though this is an intro course to Java. Coding programs are vaguely written. No test cases were given, only a few lines of sample output in PDF.
This professor does not understand what he is teaching. Fumbles his way through the lectures and just makes it more confusing. His exams are full of errors and do not actually give an accurate representation of understanding Java. Homework is easy, but not well structured. I learned almost nothing from this class. I had to teach myself everything.
Half of your grade in this class is determined by 3 exams, which are roughly 30-40 questions of snippets of code where you say the output. If this is your style to learn to code, power to you, but for me this style is trash. His lectures are horrible and constantly asks the class for help. Do yourself a favor and pick someone else.
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR LINEAR ALGEBRA. His teaching style is based on giving you very generic notes and rules about the subject then giving you complex problems based on his simple examples. Most of the class would complain about not understanding much and having to learn everything on their own. HW wasn't even worth the hours put into it.
Overall I really enjoyed this class. You could tell he was relatively new at teaching the course but overall I loved his energy and attitude during lectures and there's so much to learn if you actually show up to lecture. I would highly recommend finding a partner to learn and do the assignments together and the class becomes much more rewarding.
Really enjoyed his class. He is caring, kind, wants you to do good. Keep up with lectures. Go over notes from previous class before lecture. Ask many questions! He is always happy to get questions. Class was always interesting. It was at 7:30 AM in the morning, but thanks to him I had no problem staying awake. Participate in class, you'll have fun.
Assignments are super easy if you already know Java. His lectures get a bit boring past the hour mark. Not the best at teaching but gets the job done. Has exam reviews in-class with near carbon-copies of the actual exam. He throws curve balls on exam questions, though. Never attended class past the first 2 weeks and did okay.
Not that the class is hard, but if you arent good at programming before coming into this class, it will be a little tough to catch up. tests are a little hard and he changes the grade to lower them AFTER it was already graded. If you can, take the online form and use his videos to learn as those are actually helpful.
His teaching style definitely isn't for everybody, but he makes the material easy to understand, as long as you study his notes. The class itself is pretty comprehensive, so as long you understand everything before, the class is really easy.
The lectures is a bit unstructured. The professor sometime jump from topic to topic randomly. The tests have wrong answers but he'll correct it if you mention it to him. The tests also kinda require you to be a human compiler. Other than that, he is super chill. Try to talk to him if you're struggling!
If you actually want to learn java, Professor Boustique is not the professor to choose. His programming assignments are overly easy and his tests are ridiculously tricky and not conducive to learning the material in my opinion. That being said, he is a very nice guy and he will help you if you call him.
Professor Boustique was very nice, and showed that he cared, but when it came to his actual class, it was very disorganized. His programming assignments are some of the easiest I have ever done, but his tests were very trick-based for no reason, often changing one line or two to give a different solution and having the most minor errors in them.
Assignments are easy, but you have to be careful not to miss anything, or your grade will take a massive hit. For his tests, you must become one with Java. The tests are pretty simple, He gives a block of code and asks what it outputs. You have to listen to his lecture and do his practice tests to do well in his tests.
he's ok class is pretty easy but his assignments take long for no reason (500+ lines of code for like the last 2) even though they are conceptually really easy. Other than that he's solid, his test are on lockdown browser and ur given a segment of code and you have to put its output(mult choice)
His homeworks were pretty easy and his criteria for his coding assignments was clear. Overall a good class to take online.
Take anyone else. He's very scatterbrained during lectures & has an accent that some might find hard to understand. He never responded to a single one of my emails the entire semester, and he redid almost the entire grading scale at the end of the semester because too many people were failing. If you have to take him, make friends or you won't pass
Prof. Boustique is very enthusiastic and very welcoming to questions and concerns in relation to the course. The coding prompts are interesting and very rewarding when completed. He is very open to you receiving outside help from google on code and working together, but of course, not just copying code.
Overall class is an easy A. I took it online and it was pretty simple, and easy, albeit a bit tedious. If you have prior knowledge of Java and/or programming this class should be a relative breeze. Only annoying part is the exams, I would recommend grinding through the practice exams he gives. Final project is a bit hefty.
grading rubric for final project was all over the place and it was hard to tell what exactly he wanted. Exams were way too difficult and no curving, they were basically all trick questions tracing only. CA exam 1 was 53% and half the class withdrew pretty sure. OOP is supposed to be easy like Intro to C. Also his TAs never showed up the last week
Hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. Not only did he make calc 2 enjoyable, but he also goes over the content thoroughly. He answers any and all questions and makes sure we understand them. He also reviews and helps us whenever possible, considering the class itself is test-heavy. Overall, he is an amazing professor.
This class is pretty easy. His lectures are easy to follow and you could skip class and self-study. His exams are tricky but not too bad. His homework is EXTREMELY easy. He doesn't even punish students who copy code from other people (not that you'd need to). The final project, however, is very heavy and but he allows you to work in groups.
This class Homework's are very easy, yet there is no rubric for any of the coding assignments so you are at the mercy of TAs, Test are very hard and require being a human compiler to look for errors. I taught myself most this semester cause he often told us to go on Google if we didn't know. The final project was very hard, but final was not bad.
The HW is pretty easy, the tests are annoying because they are all code tracing, and the final project is very annoying due to an unclear rubric. He is very easy to reach but the class will mostly be you teaching yourself.
Professor has a poor understanding of Java, relying on students for certain parts of his own lectures. HWs are easy, tests are very tedious but doable with practice exam drills, the final project was extremely lengthy with vague guidelines and no time to complete it properly. If you want to learn Java properly, pick another professor.
Be ready to be human IDE. Exams are 50% of your grade. Assignments do not have rubric.
He is good professor. Easy hw and exam.
Professor Boustique is both an amazing calculus professor and a wonderful person. He made every class enjoyable.
Attendance is a grade but his lectures are useful and he really prepares you for the exams. He's caring and the workload for the class is reasonable
So this class was very disorganized but the work was pretty easy, Test are most of your grade and a group project. Their are no rubrics for homework so you kind of have to get lucky with knowing test cases. I think this class is a free pass but youll learn nothing and have to teach yourself all the way through it.
Assignments never had a clear grading criteria. Tests are "multiple choice", but are open ended, one of the options is always "none of the other options". Tests give you a code snippet, you must print the output, questions differ from practice exams. Final project was a nightmare, took me over 1500 lines of code, no rubric, no time to complete.
Assignments were fair, final project worth 25% and was a lot but was graded leniently. Tests were tricky and I mean tricky. Had some low averages
Calc 2 was standardized when I took it. Meaning the hw and tests were all the same for each professor. Boustique was quick to grade tests and quizzes, not having to wait more than a week to receive them. He likes to use silly analogies to help convey concepts. Overall, he's a nice guy who does his job well.
Funny guy, who also gave me lots of new perspectives on math. Great teacher. The biggest problem with this class is all exams are given by the department not the professor, making it challenging as they don't teach in the format of the test (which isn't their fault). Also the homework is an awful program Knewton Alta. But he is a great instructor
Professor Boutique is not a bad professor like many people claim. It is hard for certain people to understand the class because he goes on a rant sometimes and it's hard to keep up. Other than that he is very communicative, kind, and caring for his students. Most of the students who hate him are the ones not attending class and paying attention
The only bad thing about this course was Knewton Alta which is used for the homework and every Calc class uses it. There are weekly quizzes except on exam days but like I said before from what I know every other calc II class has them as well.
Boustique is hilarious, and his intentions towards helping you learn by simply going over code in the class is a unique and fun way to go about it. His tests were tricky, but it was fair if you studied and didn't overthink. I wish I had taken him for a math class.
To start I am 26 and terrible at math, just got out of the Navy. Dr Hatim is so good at teaching I felt like I learned so everything easily, he writes everything down and lets you take notes. Also, I lost my mother mid-semester and he was very patient and provided very good advice and extensions on assignments. Very good man and teacher!
Best professor Ive ever had. He doesn't grade like normal people, he grades idea rather than actual answers. As long as you were on the right track on a question you will get a majority of points. Also gives great notes and always answers students questions. Wish I could take him for every math class.
Professor Boustique genuinely cares about his students, and is typically pretty understanding. His tests are difficult because he uses code with bad formatting, but they aren't impossible. The comparison between T1 and T3 was vastly different. You'll get the hang of his tests after a bit and he seems to drop the first one somewhat often.
Tests are MC, mostly made up of trick questions and weird edge cases, no relation to useful Java or OOP knowledge. His examples of OOP principles are often nonsense. Homework sample output is hand-typed (with typos/errors!), homework is a lot of drudgery, the lectures were useless, he isn't good at teaching and doesn't seem to care about the class.
Boustique is one of the best I had. Funny and caring guy. He's a bit all over the place but the lectures are pretty nice. Tests were a bit hard but he gives a lot of partial credit. The bad thing about this class was the homework as it had nothing to do with the lectures or the exams and we had 50+ questions a week, but that's on the department
Easy class, the professor def makes the life of the students easier.
I enjoyed him for C and Java, graded by homework, projects, and tests. Projects and homework is just the right amount of challenge, not to hard but I still learn.
I enjoyed him Java/OOP graded by homework, projects, and tests. Projects and homework are just the right amount of challenge, not too hard but I still learn.
Honestly, the best math professor I've ever had. I learned more in his class than in any other calc class before. Really nice guy, who wants you to participate, very funny.
The way he explained major concepts made it easy to understand Java, however, I did not like his exams. They were all multiple-choice questions involving code tracing with an option of "does not compile." I trashed those, but made up for it in assignments, which are not too bad. The class was out of 110%, so he did have an extra credit assignment.
Professor Boustique is an amazing professor! His class is well structured, lectures are both engaging andcares a lot about his students. Tests were difficult with no curves but if you study enough you will be fine. Homework/final project were both fun and helpful. 2 mid-terms, 1 final exam, 0 quizzes. He responds to emails and is very friendly.
First of all, I want to say that the professor is very nice; he explains well all of the concepts. There is no midterm, but there is a project and a quiz, which count as the final. Overall, the class was good and organized. But he answers emails a bit late, which can be annoying to some people, so just be patient. Good luck.
Professor Boustique's class is not difficult. He records all of his lectures online, so I stopped going a few weeks into the class. The programming assignments are easy and he posts practice tests for every exam. He cares a lot about his students their understanding of the material. He is easily reachable outside of class.
As someone who worked with Java before in an enterprise environment. I found this class useless. Does not teach you exactly what are the principles. Homework is poorly made because no one develops OOP with all classes in 1 file. Tests are all the trick to test your patient no intelligence or knowledge.
For difficulty level I would have given this prof a 1 if it were not for the exams. The assignments were extremely easy, some taking even 30 mins. However, the exams have many trick questions, so essentially you need to be able to properly compile code by yourself.
Boustique's teaching style isn't for everyone. It's a bit slow and unmethodical but very exploratory and honest. If he doesn't know something, he'll say so and either have the class pull up the documentation or get you an answer the next class. The exams are very trick-question-esque but not that bad. Programming assignments are introductory-level.
Overall not that bad of a class. The assignments are not that hard logically but will take some time finish. The tests were by far the worst part of the class. They were online lockdown with webcam. Multiple choice code tracing questions set up to confuse you if you don't know ur stuff very well. I averaged a 55ish on tests and still had a B.
I missed my final for some technical reason. He picked up his phone at 10 PM on a Sunday and told me don't worry about it come later to re-take it.
Took him for OOP. Very easy class, his exams test your Java knowledge though, not your understanding of the OOP design philosophy. Take him if you don't care to learn.
Very nice guy, not so good teacher though. HW is very easy and available to do in groups however his exams are dinky little questions that expect you to be a compiler, each of which designed to trick you, and nothing like his hw, very disorganized as well, avoid if you can.
Like most have said, assignments are straightforward and easy, but boy those exams sure were something. His test consist of gotcha questions and trick questions. You have to be a java human compiler and see what will the code display, and yes, if you don't pay close attention there might be a trick in it or two.... 2 MTs, 1 final, and 1 project.
Incompetent programming professor & waste of time. Lectures are pointless, stopped going. Exams are M/C tracing on lockdown w/cam, but 99% trick questions+syntax (he really uses none of the above!). HWs were vague, TAs were lazy, final project was even more vague and very long. I've heard he's decent for math. Somehow still the best option for OOP.
This class was a joke. I'm not sure if it's the professor himself, or the way the course is structured. No point to lectures, they were totally useless. Exams were mostly trick questions, some will not even compile and you must then spot it. This is frustrating since Eclipse literally tells you if there is an error... so what's the point of them?
Has to be the easiest matrix prof you could take. Tests are worth 85% of your grade (this is true for all matrix profs) but questions are all pulled from lecture, nearly 1 to 1. No curveball questions and he even gives practice tests. Dropped lowest hws, quiz, and replaced lowest test with final. If you want to learn and also get e z A, he's ur guy
Professor Boustique teaches the material well. His lecture notes are neat and he lets us take pictures of them. The quizzes are similar to the tests, and they're hard but reasonable. Three quizzes were dropped and your lowest test was replaced with a copy of your final. Some lessons felt rushed toward the end, but they weren't included on tests.
I don't see why he gets so much hate for this course. I found him okay, but I have some java experience so I didn't watch any lectures. I like the structure of assignments/grading. The "trick questions" are actually very useful to test if you understand key concepts and how to do properly (reference/inhearitence/etc.) because it will show up in CS2
5 coding assignments, 2 exams, 1 final project and 1 final exam. All the hw assignments and the final project can be done alone or with a group. Every exam is provided with a practice exam. The final can replace your lowest exam score.
+ Lectures were recorded & informative - Lectures might be too slow-paced for some + HW was easy (difficulty-wise) - HW was unnecessarily tedious & sometimes unclear + Exams weren't too difficult and were online, with notes allowed - Some of the exam questions had easy-to-miss details He dropped the lowest homework and exam grades.
Lets you form groups for HW and project and replaces the lowest test with the final. Test difficulty isnt bad at all as long as you do the practice test and go to lectures. HW is really easy (think Intro to C but for Java) and the lowest was dropped, although I'll admit the instructions could be vague at times. Take this class if you need an easy A
The assignments are fine, but the exams aren't the best because they're questions about the output as we're human compilers, but tricky. It's multiple choice, but an option says "None of the above" for all questions, which is a bit unfair. There's a group project at the end of the semester, so don't procrastinate. Final replaces the lowest midterm.
Professor is nice and caring and is very helpful in class and through lectures. 6 homework assignments and they are easy/moderate and very similar to class lectures. Exams are multiple choice, online and are purposely trying to trick you. Will definitely learn Java basics from this class.
I did not attend many lectures. With that said: terrible professor. Although his class was fairly easy to get a good grade in, his exams are hell. Every single question on his exams is a trick question. 25 back to back trick questions wears you out like nothing you can imagine, and you get a 60 because you missed one detail of half the questions.
Made my 7:30 a.m. class bearable! Prof Boustique is a great lecturer and makes class entertaining. Online homework is annoying but doable. Tests are pretty hard as he likes to put tricky algebra/integrals in the problems, but if you go to lectures and study a decent amount before each test you'll pass easily.
He cares about his students understanding the material and will thoroughly explain so don't be afraid to ask questions. Very generous grader but make sure to study before quizzes and tests. Overall great professor.
Super chill guy, makes great jokes during class. Lectures are boring, but informative. He makes sure you don't need to memorize unnecessary information and teaches like he's preparing us for a future job. Exams are online in a lockdown browser and open note. They will take some studying so you know what to look for, but are pretty fair otherwise.
Prof. Boustique is hilarious and a great lecturer. Ask questions if you are confused!! He often makes mistakes but always fixes them and has a very casual teaching style that some may not like. Tests are made to trick you so study hard bc they're 55% of the grade. Overall great guy and love his class.
Honestly worse math class ive ever taken its so much information to know for one exam its crazy. No drop. nothing to boost your grades all the hw he gives does nothing to your grade. dont take him
Professor taught like we were already familiar with Java, so this course didn't feel very beginner friendly. Lectures were not helpful in understanding the concepts either. Assignments were okay but the requirements were unclear. The course felt very disorganized
I stopped going to class midway through the semester because Boustique's lectures were extremely boring. I didn't learn much in lecture because I'd always get away with studying for the online exams the day before and doing well on them. I do feel like I didn't get as good of an understanding of OOP principles as I would've with someone else.
just take through valencia even if you do all the hw and are bad at math it cant help you, and the reviews for tests did not help at all.
Boring and very confusing lectures. Talked about microwaves for an entire class once. I thought I would enjoy this class but it was my most boring of the semester. The assignments are pretty much written out for you, so they're very easy. If you want an easy A then take him, if you want to learn the material then find someone else.
Dr. Boustique was a super sweet and funny professor, and it was a pleasure to be at his lectures because he made them so enjoyable. He can be scatterbrained at times, but overall, he did a good job teaching this class. He is very concept-heavy and goes over the theories more than examples. Definitely improved as a professor as the year progressed.
Summer class: He taught C very well in my opinion and knew his stuff. HW is fairly simple (some hw instructions are a little vague) as long as you have a strong foundational knowledge, can also be done in groups of 2-4. Tests are kind of tricky but manageable (definitely study when it comes to pointers) 1 test is dropped. Mandatory lab attendance.
Hatim was very understanding and kind. His lectures could be a bit confusing at t
Exams are worth 60% of the overall, and they are terribly hard. Like, terrible reflections of your knowledge. Other than that professor Boutique was a great prof, just avoid calc at ucf if possible. Our class was curved by 20% on top of attendance / low grade drops. He is very engaging for math in a lecture hall, just a shame the program blows.
Boustique was a very good professor and he made sure during his lectures that he answered questions and helped everyone to understand. His instruction was clear and he is very nice as well as throws some jokes in his lectures to keep it interesting. Course is test heavy with 60%. I would definitely take again. Homework load gets hefty too.
Hatim is a great professor and actually interactively teaches his content. All calculus at UCF is extremely difficult, I'm taking calculus 2 at Valencia instead of here. I previously took this course with Piotr Mikusinski and this class was much more balanced workload-wise and much easier. Hefty curve at the end of the class.
He is truly a good professor, he cares about the students and their success. The exams are difficult and are 60% of the grade. The rest of the material is very manageable. Again, great professor and I wish there were more teachers like him.
Truly a professor that cares about his students. Had to miss a few classes and an exam because of an injury but he was so understanding about me needing to take the exam at a later date. He also responds fairly quickly! Material is pretty straightforward and he posts his lecture notes not too long after lectures.
I know he is mainly a computer science teacher but honestly he was great for being newer at UCF; his personality and lectures were fun to take in, lectures were posted online right after they finished, and he responds to student emails fairly quickly. Exams were brutal so study up. Homework was online and posted all at once. Overall great teacher!
Great overall; lectures get posted online, no mandatory attendance for class but it is for labs. The exams are a little tricky so understand fundamentals and know the practice exam by heart since the exams basically a variation of the practice. Funny, caring, and easily accessible and very open to helping with anything coding related.
His lectures make no sense, we get no study guide to the test and anything he tells you to review for test is not what is on the test when that is 60% of your grade, the only good thing about him is curving an insane amount but he only curved because of the insane fail rate at stake. Just take calc at Valencia honestly.
Great guy. A yapper, but teaches a difficult class so I give him grace. Don't take Calculus during the summer. You're gonna suffer.
Good professor, I enjoyed the lectures. He used a lot of examples that made more complicated concepts (like pointers) easy to understand. The tests can be difficult if you don't study, but there's a study guide for all the exams (except for the final) and he goes over the questions in class. Exams were open note, start assignments early.
Hatim is a pretty solid professor, though the exams are brutally tough. Definitely use Unstuck ai and the free textbook to prepare. The lectures are engaging, and he's understanding if you need to miss class.
This class is more like "Intro to Java" than OOP. I honestly hated the exam format because it pretty much nitpicks Java syntax, but hey, at least there's a practice exam before the actual one to review the stuff. But yeh, I'm here to learn the concept behind OOP with Java, not just Java itself...
Took CSA senior year of high school, made the first exam very easy. Posts all lectures to canvas. Homeworks aren't too long. exams are online with webcam, 3 total including final. Lecture heavy and the material on the test comes straight from lecture and from the test reviews which are VERY useful. Some trick questions, tricky class after exam 1.
Hard tests and quizzes but genuinely an amazing professor as long as you pay attention in class. Make sure to ask questions or come to office hours and you will be fine. My only complaint is that the class page on webcourses is fairly unorganized so don't solely rely on it for tests dates/due dates.
Java class. You get a couple of programming assignments you can work on with a group, that's probably the only merit this class has. The lectures are boring and slow down the learning process. Exams are terrible, and he tests you based on cheap tricks rather than the grasp of the concepts. Find a good group to work with and use GeeksForGeeks.
Professor Boustique was a great professor he was open to answer any questions. He records lectures, Exam are multiple choice easy as long as you review and understand the class material. I don't know if he get back to he's email fast.
Professor Boutique's class was easy in my case. If you're Mech E major, you should take Intro to C with him because he isnt work heavy. His tests are multiple choice and watch the recoridng of the reviews before the tests. People dont watch the recordings for the review and are confused about their poor grade on tests. You can work in groups on hw.
Tests are brutally hard. Like insanely hard, doesn't test you on concepts or anything important, just on the intricacies of java syntax. Most of the answers to test questions are "None of the above" so you can see how that gets confusing and impossible to learn from your mistakes. Lectures are painstakingly slow.
He is a really cool dude. He offers some drops, but don't count on it. Make sure you know all the definitions for the tests/quizzes. Super helpful, but also strict. Fair to the rules.
His lectures were kind of all over the place but still informative. We often went at a faster pace and saved more time for review before big exams that were helpful.
Professor Boustique records all of his lectures but I still recommend attending them. His lectures are kind of random in the case that he does not use a textbook or even PowerPoint slides when teaching. Instead he just starts coding and you are supposed to follow along and understand it. He also teaches linked lists which other professors don't.
Very understanding and patient with students. Always tries to make room for test reviews while most professors dont. Made the course material much simpler to understand with his lectures than trying to learn it using outside material. Very laid back and goofy professor who doesn't mind re-explaining and making visuals for students.
I highly recommend attending every lecture, as the topics covered are sometimes confusing. The midterm difficulty is a bit inconsistent but overall the class isn't too bad if you care about the subject. Topics aren't too advanced, practice quizzes help a ton, and working in small groups is highly encouraged.
The main complaint is the odd and very difficult tests involving tracing Java code for small quirks of its syntax rather than OOP concepts. Otherwise, homework and final projects are solid exercises for OOP. Posted lectures get learning concepts across too slowly so it is best to learn through homework with other learning resources.
Took onliune so I cannot complain about the teacher. If you do the work you will pass.
Overall pretty positive experience. Tests involve tracing java code which is quite tedious. Lots of tricks with java syntax you need to be careful of. I wish this course covered more concepts in OOP, than straight java. Lectures are okay, but are LONG and not concise. Play on double speed and use youtube to supplement your learning.
Very flexible class. Few assignments that take partial credit so not time consuming. Attendance not mandatory. If you have taken Java before or CSA in high school, you should get an A with minimal effort. If not, you should pay attention to his class but you will still get an A. For the test watch the recoridng of the review before you take it.
Very nice and knowledgable
Nice, chill class. Assignments are super easy and they get a bit more challenging from there but nothing you can't do. Instructions are clear and teaching is easy-to-follow. Records stuff on Zoom and posts them after the class. Final Exam replaces lower of 2 midterm grades. Requires using the lockdown browser but he lets you use any paper notes.
The workload of this class was very easy to manage. As someone who went into this class never having done java and not being a very strong coder in general I defiantly enjoyed his teaching style and left this semester significantly more confident in my coding skills. Don't cheat on the projects and you'll actually learn something lmao.
Hatim my goat 🙏🏻🙏🏻 he's a very funny and caring professor, he knew everyone in class by name even if they hardly spoke at all, generous grader who didn't put any stress on us at all (pushed hw back, moved quizzes). The hardest thing about the class is just the material, which put the time into it and you're good.
Dr. Boustique was my professor for Calc 3 and Linear Algebra(w proofs). It was his first time in a long time since he taught these courses. Despite a lack of prior experience teaching these courses, he taught exceptionally well. He has a captivating lecturing style that incorporates humor, but is also thorough. His lectures are great and important.
Very nice professor who does everything he can to help students by always checking if anyone has homework questions or questions in general.
funny, zany professor. pushes back homework and quizzes often, very relaxed. knows everyone by name. lectures are a good introduction to the information, rarely see something on the tests that wasn't covered in lecture. sometimes drops a nugget of life experience.
Hatim Boustique is the GOAT. This professor is incredible and not just a teacher but a life mentor. Grades very fairly and has plenty of review for every quiz and test. Lectures are super useful and the professor knows everyone by name so good luck trying to sit in the back of the class without being recognized!
That's brochacho
Best Professor I've ever had, hands down. Very good energy, constantly making students laugh, very good at explaining things, and a kind person well beyond what is required. I took him for calc 1 and calc 3, and he was phenomenal in both. Take his class and you'll look forward to showing up each day.
Super caring and humble professor with the funniest comedian spirit. Calc 3 was such a joy to learn about because of him. He is great at explaining difficult concepts and providing helpful notes. As long as you study regularly and take his class notes, you will do great. Easily my favorite professor! P.S. don't drink energy drinks in class lol
Prof Boustique is hilarious but he also tries to give everyone the maximum possible grade. Incorrect answers with work will still net you about 30-50% credit on test questions. He does everything he can within reason to make sure students pass. I recommend Prof Boustique for all students.
If you have the opportunity to take Mr. Boustique, genuinely please do! Honestly among the best math professors I've taken ever! He's great even if math isn't your strong suit and feels like he genuinely wants you to succeed as long as you match the effort that he asks of you, which is totally doable. 9.5/10!! TAKE HIM
One of the best profs I've had at ucf, he cares about his students, is an amazing teacher, and is very fair. Ended up dropping a good amount of stuff but you have to show up and do the work ! Take him if u can!
I took his summer Calculus III course and it was hard at first but I've never seen a teacher so involving and caring about his students. He will work with you if you work with him, its a two way street. Coming to class was enjoyable but my only critique is there's not enough homework to feel confident on the tests
Dr. Boustique is among the best professors I have ever had. The way that he explains math concepts outdoes any previous math teacher I've had. He is willing to meet you where you are, and help you build your intuition and skill. He is also a great guy who brings with him a sense of humor that makes the class feel inviting. Take his class!
I had dr boustique for mas3106 and mac2313, he is by far one of the best math professors I have ever had. Makes everything clear about expectations and what to know for tests and final.
Hatim is one of the most amazing professors I have ever had. Very quick paced class but this leaves time to review before an exam. Amazing lecturer, keeps the class focus and entertained the entire time. Very transparent about exams and grading, very generous grader. I cannot say enough good about this professor please take him! HE CARES!!
Amazing professor! Just complete your assignments and you will pass! He will meet you before or after class to go over work ensuring you know what to do!
Very nice person. Truly cares about students and whether or not they're learning the material. Make sure to review on your own because the course is very material heavy. Lectures ARE mandatory but he drops a lot at the end and their entertaining.
Made class entertaining and engaging every day despite it being very early in the morning. Would always encourage other students to stay enrolled despite a couple bad scores that made them worry about passing or failing. He knows every student by name and is quick to respond to students messages, it shows his care for the students in his class.
One of the best math professors I've ever had would highly recommend him for anyone who struggles with calc
