Professor Lee is the funniest professor I have had. She never fails to crack me up with her chemistry puns. The thing with her is that she is a great person but her lectures are way to long and tend to be very confusing at times. She tries to explain formulas and tries to show us how to do them but she makes it more dificult on what it actually is.
For the lab, she explains everything so clearly and she cares about her students' safety in the lab. She is always smiling and is always helping her students. Overall she's an amazing instructor and has an awesome personality
She is nice and clearly knows a lot about chemistry. However, she is a little bit weird in communication. For homework, you have to do the pre/post labs, the report sheet, and write three errors and a conclusion for each lab in your lab notebook. Just make sure to do your work and pass the test, and you will definitely pass.
She's funny and caring when you get to know her. She is extremely helpful during the lab and wants her students to do well. Although there is a decent amount of work, it's extremely helpful during the midterm and final. You can tell she knows what she is talking about and wants her students to do well.
She prints out a note packet for each chapter that you can use on the exams. There is one one page paper and online quizzes with multiple attempts due every chapter. May be the easiest class I have ever taken, attendance does not count
Dr. Lee is a super nice and quirky person. She really cares about her students and is always willing to answer your questions and help. She gives back the labs you hand in to use on the midterm and final so it's technically open note. Sometimes she can be hard to understand but she tries to be very helpful.
She really just wants you to pass. Will go out of her way to make sure you are accommodated. If you have to make up a quiz or test, shell probably give you cookies or buy you coffee. Total sweetheart. If you need to get your chem & society out of the way take her! I think the only way you could fail this class is if you dont do the online quizs.
Prof Lee is the sweetest human and cares about her students. Her accent can be a little hard to understand, and the lectures are boring but what gen chem lecture isn't? It makes a difference if you go to her office hours and show her that you're putting the work in. Quizzes are all take home on Blackboard and she lets you fix your homework grade!
This is absolutely the best professor I've had at UT. I really thought that I was gonna fail this class but she makes it so easy and goes over it again if you don't understand. She is really helpful and truly wants you to do good in her class. She even brings snacks for her students once a week during class - I wish she taught all of my classes.
Her class is extremely easy. However, I do not think her lectures are helpful. The syllabus is somewhat unclear, and she is a little hard to communicate with. But, I still enjoy her and would take her again.
Best professor at UT. You don't need the textbook or mastering chemistry for her class. She prints out powerpoint and genuinely wants her students to do well. Best Professor in the Chemistry department!
She is probably one of the kindest professors I've had at UT. Labs are very homework heavy, but that wasn't her fault. She always gives great encouragement, and will answer any question you ask her. So so kind and I would highly recommend taking her class.
Professor Lee is so caring and she understands that most students taking this class aren't a science major. Quizzes on blackboard weekly. Topic Analysis essays weekly in class. Doesn't take attendance.
She cares a lot about her students and goes the extra way to make sure you're passing, but she is confusing at times. She writes out the calculations you'll need but she isn't the best at explaining. The work is a little confusing, but if you just do everything you'll pass. I wouldn't take her class again though as she isn't the best explainer
Dr Lee is one of the nicest professors i've ever had, and she is very easy to reach outside of class. However, there is a pretty significant language barrier that can make lectures hard to understand at times, and she takes forever to grade assignments so you don't know your grade until its practically too late.
BEST PROFFESOR!!! Dr. Lee was super helpful and super nice when I asked her questions about the labs and when we met virtually. There are weekly labs, which she discusses both the procedure for the in person lab and also explains and discusses how to do the post lab calculations PERFECTLY. 9 Labs & 1 Test. Answers emails pretty fast. Recommend.
Attendance not mandatory! Great prof but hard to understand and usually goes off on tangents. Recommend getting the textbook and teaching yourself but also printing out the slides and copy what she is writing! Very easy class each week you do a topic analysis, discussion board and a quiz on chapter learned and one big test about every 3 weeks.
Dr Lee is the literal goat of chem professors. She teaches at a slow pace and gives a reasonable amount of work and also makes it very clear when to do what. She is very helpful outside of class and a very sweet and kind hearted person.
I think she goes at a decent pace, but this class is hard. Her accent is thick, and it's hard to follow what's going on sometimes. She means well and is nice, but I'd say overall it's mediocre. Quiz on every chapter, and there's a couple tests. You have to use proctorio for quizzes which really sucks, and u only get 30 minutes for 10 hard questions
Prof. Lee is very nice and the labs arent too difficult. But her practicals were very difficult. There is a prelab quiz and post lab quiz however they arent worth many points, She is a tough grader and very stern on calculations.
I love Chemistry, so I may be biased but this is by far one of the best classes I've been in. It can be very lecture heavy, but she breaks it up with some pretty good jokes. She is also very understanding if you are sick, so be honest about that. She is also even better during office hours, and goes slower, so don't be afraid to reach out for help!
Dr Lee is really nice. However, be prepared for her Korean accent. She's very caring about her students and enjoys what she's doing. You don't have to show up, and as long as you do the work, youll be fine. Also, she is probably one of the best dressed professors I've seen.
Overall a good teacher. Not a lot of examples, and moves at a very fast pace. Hard to keep up. Homework and quizzes for each module, and quizzes are timed. Says you need a textbook, but I haven't opened my book once. Exams are not easy and on a lot of material. Your grade is based mostly off exams. Some available office hours. She is super sweet.
Highly recommend Dr. Lee for chem lab, super helpful. expects alot for the lab reports but has a clearly outlined grading criteria and your grade will reflect that. easy to meet with during office hours and cares about her students.
She is awesome! my favorite professor freshman year. Her lectures are awesome and she is very caring and understanding of her students. She always answers question and is available outside of class (her office hours are very helpful). If you struggle with chem she will do her best to help you. She is serious in lecture but occasionally cracks jokes
Dr. Lee is amazing. She teaches fast but there's just a lot of material to learn. She'll stop for questions tho. She always makes jokes in class and is so friendly it makes chem more enjoyable. Her office hours are super helpful I went almost every week and she gives hw and a quiz almost every week but they are very helpful in preparing for exams.
I love this class! She is lecture heavy but makes class engaging. Chemistry is a very hard course but she breaks it down. She is always willing to help and gives you all the materials you need to succeed. Everything we do in class is representative of exam material. If you put in the work you will do well.
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor! She is so kind and will always help you outside of class. Her office is tiny so office hours get crowded. There are combined homework and at-home quiz assignments for two chapters at a time but are fairly easy. She gives feedback on all assignments. The tests give the same types of problems as the homework.
She is very caring and kind for her students and will be there if you need help. The reason she gets a 4/5 is the way you turn in your work. She makes her students use "Proctorio" which is basically malware that only works half the time And she expects you to print out all of the homework to then turn it in online. She is also very fast at lecture
First of all, there is no language barrier and her accent isn't hard to understand. She cares both about your grades, and your overall well-being. She has reasonable office hours and will help you check over your homework before you turn it in. Study sets are always harder than the actual tests and she answers emails really fast!
Dr. Lee is nothing short of fantastic. She makes chemistry more simple to understand. The amount of effort and time she puts in to make sure her students succeed is above and beyond anything I have ever seen before. Her patience is unmatched. If you can take her, take her. Also take advantage of her office hours, she is a huge help.
Dr. Lee is very patient with students and cares about not only your performance in class, but you in general. Tough class, but going to her office hours every week helped me tremendously. She makes you work hard for a good grade which pays off. She's extremely smart and remembers literally everything about everyone. I love her.
Dr. Lee is one of the best chem professors I ever had! She truly cares about all her students and wants everyone to succeed. Her office hours are the key to getting full credit on homework, so please take advantage! Prepare for exams ahead of time and make sure you understand the concepts. She also has extra credit opportunities for study sets.
She's a super caring and kind person in general but a though teacher. The lectures consist of mainly practice problems but the homework questions are way harder. She's not too accessible outside of class but definitely take advantage of staying after class because she will check and help with homework.
Tests are based on lectures. If you go to office hours she will make sure you get 100% on homework which is helpful towards the grade. Tests are long and all info is on her power points so don't miss a lecture. I recommend getting an I pad so you can write on her PowerPoint. Made chem understandable. Quizzes are online with a camera.Really sweet.
Professor Lee is a great professor. She's extremely caring and wants her students to understand the material. She is always willing to meet you to go over homework. The tests are very similar to the homework she gives. Overall, I think if you put in the work, you will get a good grade.
Dr. Lee is great. She cares about her students and wants you to succeed. I missed 2 classes in a row and she asked to meet to make sure I understood what I missed. All her tests are open note and she sends the class emails with updated powerpoints, practice problems with work/ answers, and a sheet she made of the important topic in each chapter
Dr. Lee is an amazing lab professor and wants you to succeed in her class. She is available for office hours and they are extremely helpful if you aren't understanding or are studying for an exam.
She's so nice. You can tell she loves her job.
overall she is such a kind and sweet lady. I had her monday and Wednesday 8:30 intro to chem and society and I was originally DREADING this class since im awful at science. BUTT she tries to help however you need, and every Wednesday we work with the two people next to you on "in class analysis". The tests are open note and blackboard quizzes w it
Open-note exams make it easier but I am not very good at chem. If you take good notes and print them out its super helpful but she sometimes moves kinda fast. Easy points on "in class analysis" that you get to work with other people on. Good notes and printed for exams is key
Dr. Lee has been one of my favorite professors. She is so understanding and caring towards her students. Office hours with her are super helpful. I struggled a lot in her class and would have a lot of testing anxiety. She went out of her way to talk and walk me to my next class because I was having a breakdown and made accommodations for me.
I love Heaven Lee. She is such a incredibly sweet lady and as someone who is NOT a science person she makes the class easy to understand. ALL her exams are open note, and we do in class work once a week so attendance is mandatory. IF YOU CAN, MAKE SURE TO TAKE HER, SHE IS SO PURE AND RLYY WANTS TO SEE HER STUDENTS THRIVE, AND GIVES EXTRA CREDIT
Literally the sweetest woman ever. Her exams are open note and if the class does bad she will give extra credit assignments to boost your exam grade. I do the absolute bare minimum for this class and still get good grades. She is always available for extra help too!
This woman need is a saint to the University of Tampa. Like best prof I have ever had. she is so caring and lets you retake the quizzes as many times as you want. all tests are open notes. She is good at lectures and so funny. Like I wish this woman was my mother. I def recommend her as a prof. Praise Dr.Lee. SLAY
Dr Lee was the best professor I could have had. She was such a good teacher to have as a business major. She was very funny and cared for all her students. Even if you came 30 minutes late she was always happy to see you. All quizzes are open notes with unlimited attempts, exams are open notes as well. If you can take her class, do it!
She is the best professor ever. She lets you turn in late work with no points taken off. She is very helpful during the lab and is clear on what she wants from you. As long as you do the lab and follow the lab manual you can easily get a passing grade in this class. She is personable , caring, funny, and helpful; Responds to emails within minutes
I hate chemistry and science but she was GREAT! All of the exams are open book & the quizzes are take home with multiple attempts allowed. She is always willing to help you if you don't understand something and is very accessible. She loves her job and always comes to an 830 AM energized and excited. If you have to take chem & society, take her!
Not a good teacher. Does not help her students succeed. Lecture heavy. Does not help students prepare for exams. Homework and quizzes don't even really matter because homework and quizzes combined are worth 10% of your over all grade. 90% of your grade is based on 3 lecture exams and the final exam. JUST DON'T TAKE HER! IM TRYING TO HELP YOU!
Every other rating for Dr. Lee is for chemistry and society (which is maybe the easiest science class to take at this school). I'm not really dumb, I got an AB in Chemistry 1. However when it comes to Chem 2 you really see that Dr. Lee is not a good teacher. Does not help student succeed. Good lady, bad teacher. Just don't take her, your welcome
good lady, but worst at teaching. Honestly, can't understand anything, super recommend not taking this professor. She teaches us the basics of chem and society, has very heavy lectures, and her accent is not understandable. pls, don't take it.
I love Professor Lee, but she is hard to understand and learn from her lectures. The tests are open note but very difficult
Chem 2 is a difficult course and you have to study a LOT. Her lectures are pretty standard but her office hours help a TON. It guarantees a 100 percent on the homeworks and after I started going I did a lot better on the quizzes and tests. Be prepared to study a lot and go to office hours and you'll be fine.
Dr. Lee is a very nice lady. A little hard to understand with the accent but her class was super laid back. Every test is open note and quizzes are online with unlimited attempts. Really hard not to get an A in the class just take notes and bring them to the exam and you'll be fine. Offers extra credit, and each assignment is nearly guaranteed 100
Professor Lee is a really nice lady but she believes so strongly in the rules. you'll get questions wrong if every piece of work is not written down even if the answer is right. every week there's a timed quiz that's very hard sometimes I wouldn't even finish. I needed a C to move onto orgo and missed it by 0.5 points she refuses to round up
If you weren't a God in chemistry in high school or any other sense of life, good luck.
AMAZING PROF! Very helpful. HW can be long and hard but go to office hours. She will help and make sure everything is correct (go exactly when the hours start bc she gets busy). Her exams are based off the lectures. Towards end of course she will offer the study sets for extra credit. The course moves fast so definitely requires lots of studying.
She is a great professor and is willing to help outside class during study hours. Exams are worth 90% of your grade so PLEASE study. Failing 1 exam is what prevented me from an A. She tells you what you need to know for exams, and the HW assignments are similar to exams. Chem is hard, but she gives you tools to be prepared.
Tests way so heavily in her class that it makes it hard for anything else to bring up your grade. I did bad on one of them and my grade dropped heavily because of this one test.
she cares crazy language barrier, it'll take you 3 weeks to figure out she tries her best to understand you
I think she really does try to teach, but her lectures are way too heavy and she is difficult to understand which makes it even worse. She has office hours, but when you go they are completely packed and hard to get help. Tests are 80% of your grade so if you fail one you basically fail the class. She is nice though.
Professor Lee is a good teacher, sometimes it is hard to understand though. Theres online quizzes every other week, and 4 tests that are open note. There is only one paper due at the end of the semester. The material is kind of hard to understand, you just have to pay attention in class.
Exams are worth 95% of your grade, 5% HW. Quizzes are online but hard. Very few grades so hard to improve grade. If you fail one exam, drop the class. She is a very nice lady and happy to answer questions. Takes a while to answer emails & almost never inputs grades. Your final grade/Exam 3 grade is not posted till after grades are due by faculty.
prof lee is a nice woman. lectures r hard to follow, so i felt like i was teaching myself most of the time. she posts lectures and notes which is helpful. grades are online quizzes and in-class assignments + final paper, but most of ur grade is the 4 exams. exams are open note but i'm not good at chem so i still struggled even when i put in effort
Really nice professor and makes the class easy.TAKE HER! She sends out emails each week to let you know what you are covering. very basic course. No homework just canvas quizzes with unlimited attempts. In class topic analysis you have to be present for otherwise attendance is not mandatory. Allowed notes on all the exams. One 600-700 word paper.
doctor lee is the best. chem 2 is a hard course and you have to study alot. if you go to her office hours to do the homework and study from those and the practice problems she gives you, you will be fine.
Dr. Lee really goes out of her way to make sure students do well & enjoy the class! She's super nice & gives many extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. If you pay attention to her material online & focus on lectures, this course is an easy A. As a humanities major, I'd take her again due to how caring & supportive she is.
Pretty nice but VERY hard on rules. Won't give you credit for some hw questions if there's a slight mistake in putting numbers down - even if a miswrite because of academic integrity, or if you don't explain every single thought. personally didn't match my learning style, so I had to try to guide myself through the course :/. sweet but frustrating.
Dr. Lee is a good professor but very frustrating. She is absolutely terrible at communicating and grades your homework really tough. She lectures well but you have to pay attention. I can't stress enough how poor her communication skills are. Won't answer emails for a week. Wouldn't take her again because she's not helpful.
she grades the homework RIDICULOUSLY. terrible professor. don't take.
You have to teach yourself. In her lectures she whispers when she is teaching and you can't even hear her. If you have her make sure you sit close to the front. Test are open notes but the questions she is asking are not similar to what you have on notes.
She was a good professor very soft-spoken, sit towards the front so you can hear her. She is a tough grader on homework assignments but everything on the tests was from the homework so it helps when preparing for tests.
Best teacher I have ever had. All tests are open notes so it is pretty hard to do bad. She posts all of her notes and you can print out her notes and use them on the test. Lectures are boring but worth it. Very hard class to fail. I thought chem was going to be hard but she made it easy for me to learn and do well. Sometimes hard to hear her.
She talks while students are talking so can be hard to understand (and I sit in the front) She lets you do open note tests which makes it much easier course.
Professor Lee is one of the sweetest people. She cares about her students and will clear up any questions. She does move fast, and I will admit, talks quietly but as long as you sit closer to the front(as in row three and up) you can understand her perfectly fine! Tests are fine as long as you know your stuff and not that much homework is given.
Horrible Professor, taught myself the class and did ok. Literally makes a slide show that is the same as the book and reads off of it. Would never take a class with her again.
I would recommend Dr. Lee to any students interested in taking her. She explains concepts very well, and her lectures are easy to follow. She's always ready to help out students and gives great feedback. In the course we had 4 exams which weren't too challenging if you did the homework, study sets and went over the lecture slides.
Dr. Lee was an amazing professor. lectures did get boring sometimes, considering it was a 2 hr. class. Four multiple choice exams, no cumulative exam. quiz each week and a completion graded assignment every week. EVERYTHING IS OPEN NOTE!! Sit close to front, because it gets loud, many people tune out and start talking. Take her if you can!
BEST CHEM PROF AT UT. 3 exams (word for word from hw). Chapter quizzes that are online. Homework (go to office hours bc she will give u the answers). 11 points of extra credit towards end of the semester. Failed this class with diff prof previously 2 times and she is truly the best!!!!!!
She is very nice. The tests are easy because they are open notes. The only thing is, she speaks very quietly, making her hard to understand.
Best professor at UT she's so kind and always brings us water and snacks and gives extra credit she helps everyone individually and is super nice grading, love her
Easily distracted by conversations about her dog. Can be a bit all over the place - refer to her student aide if so. However, it was the easiest Chem Lab that I've taken at UT, as she explains concepts very well and will help you go over labs and make sure you understand them.
She's super sweet and nice and forms connections with her students I love her and she wants u to do ur best and wil sit there with u for hours until u understand. She always brought snacks and water she's the best.
Most kind and helpful professor of all time. Super nice and will help you with anything you need. Class isn't too bad either - exams are open note, and if you take good notes, you'll be totally fine. She's the goat, take her.
The best professor ever! She is so sweet and truly cares about her students and their success in her classes. All of her exams are open note and pretty easy if you study. Make sure to take notes during her lectures and you will do fine on the exams. Definitely recommend taking her she is amazing and the best professor I have ever had!
TAKE HER. shes so sweet and wants you to learn. her tests are open note and she is so nice. kinda quiet but its fine. if you need a core science requirement this is the class its so easy just take notes in class and use them on the test. the tests are kinda hard but youll be fine. anyways shes great take this class.
Shes so nice like actually, her classes are just lectures and for the tests you can have as many note sheets as you want, so they are very easy if you just go to class. Definitely recommend.
Dr. Lee is super sweet and will work with you until you understand something. Tests are open notes but can still be slightly challenging. You don't get much homework besides for some online quizzes. If you miss a class you WILL be lightyears behind though speaking from experience. Lessons go pretty quick. Just take good notes and don't skip.
Attendance isn't mandatory if there are no in-class assignments (check the syllabus), all exams are open-note, and there's a lot of practice with the material in class if you're struggling. Easy class, very nice professor and she's honestly really funny. Hard to understand if you're in the back of the class though.
