Great professor, very willing to help out outside of class. Highly recommend.
I thought she was a great teacher! she makes sure the whole class knows the material. she doesnt put any surprises on the test. overall i really liked her! if you can definitely pic her!
She is overall a good teacher, but makes many mistakes. She hardly ever realizes she has done the problem wrong until someone corrects her. She is rather boring, but she is willing to help any student out no matter how long it will take. Is a relative easy test giver. If you go to class and half pay attention you will make a good grade.
Very easy class this past semester; she seemed concerned with the students liking her a lot. If you want an easy A or B, this class is for you.
Dr. Booth is a really nice person, and she is very willing to help. However, her teaching style doesn't really click with me. She skips steps and doesn't explain things well. She also makes a lot of mistakes. Tests are ok. I'm just not a math person; I'm hoping for a C+ in this class. Overall, Dr. Booth is not bad, not good-just average.
Great teacher if you come to class. Easy to understand and easy to approach if you do not understand. Tests are very similar to study guides posted on blackboard. I would take her again anyday.
I think she's great.
Will go slow to help you understand. She is good but studying is required
She is such a good teacher and really wants everyone to do well! She tries to make sure that everyone understands the material and is really approachable if you need extra help. Her tests are pretty easy if you do the review sheet and she doesn't give that much homework. I suggest taking her if you can!
The easiest math class I've ever taken! She assigns online homework that's 10x harder than anything she will ever give you on a test. She really wants everyone to do well and always tries to explain things the best she can. I got an A with minimal effort/studying.
I adore Professor Booth. She is easy to understand, and get along with. I admire that she is concerned about the clarity of her explanations, and if you do not understand her lesson, she does her best to come up with another way to answer the problem. Just be sure to study for the final - which is 30% of your grade.
Since Algebra isn't the easiest subject to learn, the class wasn't easy. But she was a really good teacher and her tests were easy and fair compared to other math professors. The department final is harder, but she does a good job of preparing you. I would highly recommend her.
Dr.Booth was a wonderful professor. She was very helpful and very sweet! She always curves and will always allow you to have a second chance for anything. I had to take 119 twice, and when I had her for my second time she explained everything so much better and was a much better help. I would recommend her any day!
Dr. Booth is great! I'm not the most mathematically minded person, however Dr. Booth makes this class interesting and extremely simple. She is gemerally 5 minutes late to every class and even accidentally forgot our final exam at her house. Super nice woman, take her if you get the chance-definitely one of the easiest classes I have taken at UT!
Dr. Booth is a great professor. If you go to class & do the WebAssign homework you should be more than okay in this class. I got a A- in her class. Tests are beyond easy because she posts practice exams almost exactly like the real tests. She is very cooperative and understanding when it comes to making up assignments & tests. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!
Dr. Booth is awesome! She's really, really helpful and will do everything she can to see that you understand the lesson. We never used our book, but you really have to do the Webassign homework to make a good grade. Take a math class with her if at all possible!
Dr.Booth was very helpful, it was a tough class for me but she was patient and helpful
She is a random lady, but her class is super easy and she will definitely work around your understanding. She cuts out questions and lets you make up attendance quizzes. Very easy stuff.
She is a very nice woman and she wants you to do well in her class. She does not make this class any harder than it needs to be. Go to class and pay attention and do your homework you should do fine in this class for sure!
She is super sweet! She's kind of ditsy and spacey at times but trust her when she tells you her class is easy. I didn't feel like I was doing so hot until I started seeing A's on blackboard. Make sure you do the Webassigns though, crucial. She grades super easy. Random quizzes too.
Dr. Booth is really nice and the class is incredibly easy. She takes attendance, so you should go to every class. I'd definitely recommend her!
Awesome teacher. If you stunk at math take this class because she will go easy on you.
When it comes to math, I am horrible. Dr. Booth made everything clear and was there if you needed help. If you struggle with math, take her class
Great teacher and a great person. She's extremely nice and helpful. Also, she's VERY understanding. I would recommend her to anyone. Go to class, do the Webassign, make an A. Oh and she posts a practice test a few days before the test on Blackboard(maybe two practice tests if you ask!).
i am pretty good at math so this class wasnt that hard. but she is a good explainer and gives good examples. will go over as many problems as you need. gives out practice tests that are the exact same as the real test so that helps alot
Very helpful and nice, works a little fast sometimes, makes test questions easier then web assign, going to class is recommended unless your a math prodigy, in which case why are you in 119?
She's a really easy teacher, and great at explaining things. The book is only necessary for the 7 "study skills" assignments, but it IS a useful tool that I would recommend. (Although I may not be the best judge of this class, seeing that I took it because my advisor made me. I took AP Calc in high school.)
Dr. Booth is great! i had her for 119 as well and She is really good at explaining the material that will be on tests and she always posts 2 to 3 practice tests on BB with answer keys that are identical to real tests. Super nice lady and really understanding, will try and help you as best as she can if your struggling. TAKE HER CLASS!
She is a GREAT teacher! I am terrible in math and she made it seem really easy. She curves test grades and also gives partial credit. Favorite math teacher I have EVER taken. I highly recommend her and wish she taught other courses other than math
Dr. Booth is incredible. She is always there for help when needed. She goes at the pace of the class to make sure everyone learns the concepts and reviews them at the beginning of the next class and I found it really helpful. She is also really easy on tests. I only got partial credit on every problem on the last exam and I still got an A. TAKE HER
She is really nice and is really good at explaining solutions. Highly recommend her if you have the chance.
Really kind and reasonable teacher. She is really good at explaining the material, and she keeps the lectures interesting. My only complaint is that she almost never responds to your emails.
Heather Booth is amazing. The class moves slow, but she goes over everything in detail. Super helpful and nice! Take her class!
Really awesome teacher. She explains the material very thoroughly and gives you every opportunity to succeed. Get her class if you can.
I highly recommend Mrs. Booth! She has a great sense of humor and keeps the class really interesting. The homework is very reasonable, and she explains everything extremely well. She also gives out candy and prizes in class sometimes! If you can TAKE HER!!!
One of the best Math teachers on campus. Personality that you'll fall in love with and she just gets teaching. She is an easy grader who gives a lot of partial credit for blatant missed problems if you show you can do most of the work. She is awesome and would recommend her to anyone. Also has a lot of helpful office hours
She is an excellent teacher. Explains the material well, and genuinly cares about students and whether they understand. Adds humor in class which makes it enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!
Fabulous teacher! She's fair and is willing to go at the pace of the class if necessary. She adds funny little anecdotes to lecture which is great. She may seem spacey at times, but don't be fooled; her PhD is in computer science. I would wholeheartedly recommend her, even to the less confident math student.
She's an excellent professor! She goes a little fast, but is willing to answer any and all questions you may have. You'll learn a lot from here, but watch out for her tests. They can be tricky!
I have always struggled with math, but Dr. Booth has made calculus my favorite class this semester. She explains everything so clearly, and if you put a lot of effort into the class you will succeed! She is very intelligent and genuinely cares about her students. She should run the UT math department. Best professor at UT: Take her class.
Dr. Booth is an amazing teacher. She is a very fair grader giving tons of credit for wrong answers as long as you miss your work. I was required to take 125 but luckily i got Dr. Booth and ended up with a B+. She is excellent and cares about you as if you were her own kid. She really goes out of her way to help you. Take this teacher if you can.
Dr. Booth was a great professor. She was very sweet and helped with any question I had. She always seemed in a good mood and would email us words of encouragement before exams. You felt like she really wanted you to be successful and do well. Great math teacher.
Great professor, really helpful and caring. She works hard to make tons of study guides and practice problems for every test... use them!
I had a hard time enjoying this class because I wanted to finish gen ed with an easy class and got M125. However, Booth is a great professor who has everything you need to succeed even if you don't ask for it. She's also very entertaining for a math teacher and I'll miss most her funny stories and energy.
She can try to cram to much as once during one class period. She gives quizzes all the time but she does grade pretty easily.
Very easy class if you go, and very helpful even for questions during a test. Always moves tests or homework's back, or goes over material again if she feels like students aren't getting it. Only negative comment is that she is very scattered brained
Easier than my highschool calculus class. I would highly recommend taking her for Math 125. She does not use the textbook, but does use webassign. Made a 96 in the class and barely did anything.
The only math teacher I would take over and over again. I would highly recommend taking her. It's an easy A if you go to class and do the online homework. She is always willing to help you as much as she can. A very small percentage of your grade is based on attendance but it's very easy to get behind when you don't go. All around awesome class!
TAKE THIS TEACHER! I am already really good at math, but even if you aren't...if you go to class you WILL do well. She is so nice and is very flexible with grades. She even admits she is! She gives you so much time to turn in homework and offers lots of extra credit. You won't regret taking her class. Easy A even if you put in half the effort.
She skips steps in her work and often doesn't go over material needed for the test. When she does hold review periods she often sends out emails very few hours in advance making it difficult to make it to them if you are generally busy. She is however flexible and willing to help with issues.
The class overall is not extremely difficult by any means but Prof. Booth skips steps when "teaching" material and her way of teaching is just working out the problems in front of us as fast as she can without explaining how or why she does things. She is nice and gives some extra credit but I basically had to teach myself the material.
Ok this teacher might be good for lower level but not for math 141. It is her first time teaching it. And she is slow, does not know what shes doing, and unorganized. If you want to fail here you go.
She is very unorganized and overall quite poor at explaining the topic in class. She relied way too much on the TAs to explain the material that she could not get to. She was behind schedule the whole semester, which will cause me to behind in future math classes. She is helpful though, so go to office hours for help.
She speeds through problems without really explaining what she is doing at all. She also does not seem to know if she is doing the problems correctly because she is always asking us to find her mistakes. She will post solutions to practice tests but if the solutions are wrong and you studied them good luck. Avoid her class.
Run from this teacher like the plague! She is scatterbrained and only got through half the material for almost every exam we had in the class. Makes mistakes all the time and didn't return one email I sent her. The only people that seem to do well in this class are the ones who already know all the material. She is nice but a terrible teacher.
Dr. Booth taught Math 141 for the first time this semester so she is unfamiliar with it. She might sound hurried and unclear sometimes, but she explains the concepts well enough. She is very helpful and holds office hours, has review sessions, and sends out practice quizzes and exams to help people pass. She is also very flexible with homework.
Dr. Booth is the nicest and most likable professor I have had. However, this was her first year teaching 141 so she was unclear with some of the concepts. She refers a lot to math 125, which she previously taught. Despite this, the tests and quizzes are straight forward and as a whole the class is not that bad.
She is a fantastic professor and is really easy. Her test are just like the practice test so study those. She gives a lot of extra credit. Go to her office hours and review session because that only helps you in that class. The only negative thing about her is she is scattered brain. Overall, she was a great teacher and cares about her students!
Love Dr. Booth! She is very helpful to her students. However, you do have to put forth the effort. Dr. Booth is very passionate about Math and takes pride in her students doing well. I recommend her for Math 119.
Didn't learn a thing from this prof. She is difficult to follow in class. Tests are all over the board as far as material covered in class. Avoid taking her if at all possible.
Professor Booth is a great teacher and fun in class. She'll also help you if you need to meet her during her office hours. She cares about her students and often asks the class if we understand to see how well people are following her lectures. She uses class time wisely and stays on topic. Take her class!
This teacher is WONDERFUL! She gave me confidence in my ability and was extremely helpful. She takes the time to make sure you understand everything and WANTS you to succeed! Great pick and super fun!
Mrs. Booth is kind, and she cares about the success of her students.
Dr. Booth is such a sweet and helpful woman. She may go a little quickly through information, but if you seek help, she'll be more than willing to give it. Tests had no surprises and reflected the homework. She gives practice tests. Great sense of humor too and likes to interact with her class, conversing as well as lecturing. Would take again.
She is an amazing teacher. Every Friday this semester she came in with a funny youtube video to watch before class. If she sees the class isn't understand she will push back homework and tests to make sure you understand. If you can take her!
She answers any questions you may have and extends office hours if she can't cover all questions in class. She has reviews for every test and posts many reviews online. She is pretty lenient and understanding about WebAssign homework. She loves to tell stories and always tries to make math interesting.
She is a good teacher, although she is semi confusing when trying to teach material, students will occasionally correct her when she makes a mistake, but they are very few. Tests are easy to study for she gives alot of practice tests that model the exams almost identically
It's really hard to pay attention in her class because she rambles on about the most pointless stuff. She's one of he better math teachers, I'm sure... But lots of people in the class had trouble with her style of teaching.
Alright, here's the deal. She is a nice lady, don't get me wrong. Her organization is non existent, she doesn't "teach" math, she does problems in front of your face at lightening speeds and expects you to follow along. She assigns homework (emails it to you) at the last second and expects it to be done the next day for class. Class is awful.
She is a kind teacher and very understanding of her students... However, it is hard to pay attention in her class and take her seriously as a difficult teacher. Also, she does not challenge you enough IN class to be prepared enough for the final exam that is given to all Math 119 students together.
The best math teacher i've ever had! I had her for basic calc and I completely understood every concept she went over on the first day that she went over each concept. She is always there to help you, and she is really funny and nice. I would definitely recommend her. Cheap class, too!
Very easy, attendance isn't mandatory, options for extra credit and as long as you put in minimal effort you'll do fine.
Dr. Booth is outstanding, and I am extremely lucky to have had her. From what I hear, she is much easier than other calc professors. Offers review sessions and extra credit. She also posts several practice exams online for all tests. She is extremely sweet. The only students who complained were the ones who didn't show up or talked the whole class.
Almost always I have a horrible experience in math classes. Dr. Booth is one of the kindest profs I've had. I had the stomach flu for an entire week of classes plus I missed an exam. She put extra time aside to help me catch up. She has office hours almost every day, and if she sees you trying, she will do all she can to help you and your grade.
Honestly one of the most helpful professors I've ever had. Almost always pushed homework back if the class was confused. She can move a bit fast during lectures but she will slow down if asked. As long as you show up to class and complete the homework you will be fine. I would definitely take here class again! She is an amazing professor!
Dr. Booth is the best math teacher I've ever had. She genuinely cares about her students, and offers lots of office hours. She's pretty funny and tries to engage students, so the class goes by quickly. Doing your hw and attending class are essential. She takes a while to grade but grades very fairly, giving partial credit on exams
I was so scared of Calculus it wasn't even funny. But Dr. Booth taught so that I understood everything she said. She gave very clear notes and gave us lots of practice before tests. She has great review sessions before the tests and she is very helpful in her office hours. We watched a funny cat video at least once a week. Take her if you can!
she is sweet and helpful. the class is kind of tough but going to tutoring really helped. she gives extra credit and practice tests which are really helpful.
Dr. Booth is very helpful and her notes are extremely well laid out.
If you have to take someone for Math 125, take Professor Booth! She's very nice and is very willing to help! Take her on Tuesday and Thursday because she will spend the first 25 minutes of class reviewing everything on the test! It's so helpful! (I had to take a test in the MWF class and she didn't review before.) She's awesome! Take her!
Her handwriting is awful and she goes so fast so if you missed when she wrote it forget it.
She is very humorous. She will be understanding if you need help or have questions and love when students ask questions. She is a great math professor overall.
Dr. Booth is honestly amazing. she doesn't mind to help outside of class, she even has review sessions before tests. she 's really just a nice, caring, and involved professor, one of the best that i've had. She does move a little fast in lectures, but anything you miss she is happy to explain further. take her if you can!
Heather Booth is the sweetest professor ever. If you're bad at math like me, I completely recommend always showing up for class. She's really helpful when it comes to make-up quizzes and does what she can for everyone to make a good grade and never makes you feel bad about asking dumb questions in class. Totally recommend!
I absolutely hated math until I met Professor Booth. She makes sure you know the material before going ahead and always makes you feel welcome to ask questions in class! Never be afraid to ask for help because she really loves participation. The only bad thing is she doesn't reply to emails quickly at all so go to office hours!!
Doesn't teach at all, I've had to teach myself all semester and have had to go to lots of tutoring. She is very scatterbrained and doesn't post grades online. I would advise taking someone else
Sweetest math teacher I have ever had. She will help you out and she is so kind. She isn't that great at teaching, but she's not terrible.
Does not teach well at all. I have had to teach myself all the material. Also very scatterbrained, makes mathematical errors multiple times during lectures.
Holy Cow. If you don't already know what is going on, or have an alternative method for learning, do not take her. She just might LITERALLY be the worst teacher I have ever had. Does not teach well at all. Super nice. Good personality. Horrible at teaching. Moves through the lecture much to fast. Come prepared to hate yourself. youtube is clutch.
Professor Booth, at least in my course, was super cool about grading and testing. Her grading is very flexible and she'll pass out extra credit randomly. A perfect math class for those who hate math. One lecture we had was origami box making and another was finding logical fallacies in Monty Python sketches. Sit in the very FRONT and engage.
I sat in the very back everyday on my computer doing other things. I rarely looked up in class. She doesn't take attendance, but would give extra credit to people who came. The HW is easy and we watch a lot of weird videos in class. She talks a lot about random things, but it is a very easy A. Just study a little for the tests and you'll be fine.
Shes very good at explaining the concepts in a clear way. You have to go to lectures if you want to pass and definitely do the homework
She is incredibly caring and makes sure you understand what she teaches. She wants to make sure you do well in her class. She is very helpful and kind, and will go out of her way to help you. She is also considerate. You gotta pay attention in class, do the homework, and understand each lesson, and you'll do perfectly fine.
I like Prof Booth, she is clearly kind of scatter brained but she's nice and the material isn't hard if you show up and pay attention. With that being said, don't pay too close attention cause a lot of times she doesn't know what she's talking about. But the tests and hw are easy. sometimes she reveals really intriguing facts about herself randomly
Dr. Booth doesn't care about this class, I've never met a professor who showed up later and forgot their materials EVERY single class . BUT If you're looking for a class easier than fifth grade this is the one for you! Prepare to be taught how to count by 2's, fold paper into triangles, and the meaning of a pound sign. Did you know it means number?
This is class is very easy. Easy to the point that it is annoying. You learn how to fold paper, how to look at patterns, and learn all new kinds of symbols, such as: # (by the way, it means number). She's nice for the most part, but honestly she's a little demeaning when she tells you that you're not smart enough for certain types of math.
Dr. Booths lectures were fast paced but she covered everything in detail. The homework that follows each section tends to be long, but thats all you need to do outside the class. PreCal is a hard class because of having to cram so much in so little time. Dr. Booth manages to make it easy-ish. Her class scored higher than the average on the final.
Dr. Booth is the most unprofessional and unprepared professors I have had in my entire college career. She was late almost ever single class and a lot of the time she didn't have enough notes for the class. I only succeeded in this class, because I am good at math. She goes 100 mi/hour during her lecture, and leaves the rest of the class behind.
Dr. Booth was great! She's a really sweet lady and honestly just wants you to do your best and succeed. The homework is online, it's straightforward and easy to get full credit because you get a second attempt. The tests are easy and to the point as long as you understand the material or if you are present in class.
This class was a breeze so much so that I didn't pay much attention (whoops). 4 exams, including the final, and little homework grades. Definitely take for an easy A!
She is a very easily distracted woman, hardly talks about math, and is not a clear explainer. Her tests are way harder than study guides and typically dont correlate. Would not recommend her.
Although attendance is not mandatory there are a lot of points given for completing things in class. I really enjoyed this class and Booth's teaching style, but it is not for everyone. If you are not a person that is willing to teach yourself a little outside of class then she is not the professor for you. Tests, homework, and quizzes are all easy.
Dr. Booth gets off track sometimes, but she's a pretty good teacher. Unfortunately, the 4 exams are each worth 20% of the final grade, but she posts online exam reviews before each of them. She moves pretty fast through the lectures, and I had to go back and teach myself some of the concepts a few times. Not a hard class if you put in the effort.
Really nice. Pay attention in class, take notes, and do the homework and you'll be alright.
She is probably the best math teacher I have ever had. Loves to tell stories and make class very chill. But it is still a little difficult. Show up to class and you'll be fine. It is a flipped course. Watch the videos and take notes before going to class.
Dr. Booth is very kind and also chill. She is sorta scatter brained, but that's what makes the class fun. She always has a fun story to tell when she comes into class. It's a flipped course, so she doesn't do a ton of teaching. However, she is always willing to help and offers lots of extra materials to help you do well on exams. She made math fun!
I really liked Mrs. Booth. She can be easily distracted in class, often telling us stories about her life. While these are entertaining I'd much rather be studying math. She is a very caring person and is always willing to help with any problem during class
MATH 142 (Calc 2) She told us shes never taught calc 2 before, and it shows. The way she teaches is not intuitive AT ALL, its as if she thinks we already know the material. Trying to learn in class is a waste of time, you're better off learning from a 10 minute video online. However she let us redo missed homework, and curved main exams.
She is definitely the best math teacher I have ever had. This is the first math class I have ever enjoyed. Her teaching style is very relaxed, which I havent experienced from a math teacher at this school. The class was still difficult to me, but Im definitely glad I took it with professor Booth!
Heather Booth is a great teacher. Shes caring, friendly, understanding, and will do anything to help you and your grade. Easy grader & loves talking to her students! Not strict at all. Do the homework, be in class for group work, and do well on tests. Tests count for a lot, as well as the final. If youre good at math, easy A.
Prof Booth is very sweet & wants students to succeed, but tends to be a bit scatter brained & will go off topic a good amount. Non-Webassign items take her a while to grade & put into the gradebook. You just need to pay attention in class, how much work you put into the class will reflect based off your grade.
Professor Booth will teach you everything you need to know. She is somewhat scattered and hard to follow in class, though. You will have a lot of homework to do online. She is average in difficulty. She does make herself available for help.
Seriously avoid her at all cost. I missed an exam due to family emergency and she emailed me and said I could make it up but never heard from her again despite the numerous emails I sent her. Shes super confusing. Shes EXTREMELY scatter brained and spends most time not teaching. When she does teach shelldo a problem and then realize its wrong.
She is a very nice lady but way too scatterbrained. Shes helpful in class if you need help, but goodluck reaching her outside of class. She also takes FOREVER to input grades (over a month for each exam) even though shell say every class that shes putting them in that day. Her tests arent hard and look the exact same as the practice exams.
Do you want a rollercoaster that's smooth and you know exactly what is going on? Or do you want a rollercoaster that comes off a track mid-ride and you're terrified, but somehow its all okay? I was afraid this class would be hard because it seemed unorganized, but I really enjoyed the way she taught and would love to take a class from her again!
This class went kind of smooth, but I dont believe Im fully prepared for Calculus. Dr. Booth was very hard to access outside of class. Quizzes and exams were unorganized. However, when we would have a quiz every class period, I liked how she would explain any problems we had trouble with in depth before the quiz.
Dr. Booth is great professor for precalculus and overall person. I would be her friend outside of class, given the chance. There is a lot of automated homework from the textbook, which is out of her control, that takes a lot of time to complete. Do the homework, study for tests, and you will do fine.
Imagine you log onto class every day and are greeted by a spot the difference puzzle and an announcement that this class has "one of the lowest passing rates". I think this is exactly what happened every other day I logged onto this class. Nice lady but I felt like I learned nothing. The Google Classroom work is all that saved my ass for the exams.
She's cool and helps out a lot, and if you go to her office hours she will explain every little detail to you. The review below me says that most of the class was failing, which is true, but that's just because they spent more of their time complaining than actually doing any of the work.
Dr. Booth is a good professor. As long as you attend class, study, and stay on top of the homework, you should have no issues. Always ask for help if you're stuck.
Professor Booth was great. She frequently stayed after the seminar to help with more math examples. She was great in the DB posts and offered lots of help. Made math fun!!! With I could have all my math classes with her!!!
Fully online and had zooms 4 times a week. Crammed material up until the final. Didn't answer my 7-8 emails over the course of a month, and just told me she was behind. Expect about 3-5 assignments a week, 5-6 quizzes, and 3 tests over the semester. She's passionate but not accessible; I will not be taking her again.
Dr. Booth is really caring and sweet, and she is a pretty easy grader with lots of partial credit. This class is really easy if you've already taken calculus.
She's definitely a good person and cares about the class and the people in it but I wouldn't take her again. Near the end, her test reviews she made half of it were left blank. She also takes forever to put grades in so you can go through 2 exams and a lot of work wondering what your grade is because she takes so long to put them in.
Dr Booth is a really sweet professor, she just isnt very accessible. Majority of our assignments were not graded until the last week of classes, after our final, which was really frustrating. Several of my questions went unanswered, but I still passed. If youre okay with teaching yourself, Dr Booth is a great professor. If not, find someone else
Do not take Professor Booth unless you already know calculus. She took forever to put in grades, criticized your math skills for asking questions, and frequently skipped steps in problems. She also listed her class as hybrid with 3/4 being in person. Less than 24 hours before our first class, she moved the class fully online for the whole semester.
