Valencia should make a bronze statue of Ms. Bryson. She is a gleaming ray of hope and admiration in this sometimes bleak life. She has inspired me to fly. "Your exactly right", Ms. Bryson.
Professor Bryson is an amazing teacher. Her lectures are clear and easy to understand. You only have to do a couple of short and easy essays and then two exams. She more than prepares you for these exams as long as you attend class. She makes class fun as well. She is amazing at relating to students. As long as you attend class+ study you will pass
I absolutely loved Professor Bryson! As long as you attend class and take good notes, you will definitely get an A. Do not worry about stupid questions because she will say everytime, "That is a great question!!!" Do not hesitate to take her class, I wish I needed to take the second half of the class because I would take it with her!
Professor Bryson is the best professor I have ever had! She is incredibly helpful, sweet, and encouraging. The class is mostly lecture, with only the midterm and final for tests. She goes above and beyond for her students, and is extremely funny. Take her class, it's easy, but engaging. A+++++
I loved this class - it is exciting to be in her class b/c of these great discussions. You have to show up and work on your papers - you will want to, the topics are great - you learn a lot about America. She is a stickler when it comes to writing.
Professor Bryson is amazing! She is so nice and so positive. She actually engages us as a class and even though it was online I LOVED all the discussions. Test's were read the chapter answer 20 questions. I loved it and learned a lot. I am taking her again next semester fro AMH2020!
Great teacher. I am finishing up her online class and she is super patient and clear on what she wants you to do. Doesn't grade strictly. I recommend her class for sure!
She is probably the nicest professor I have ever had. One midterm, one final, and four papers throughout the semester. She is serious about the writing though! Only professor to every throw a pizza party while we study. Taking her for AMH2020. She is awesome! Very Helpful and encouraging as well. Take her for history if you can.
It isn't easy to make early western civ interesting, but professor Bryson did. Her lecture outlines are an amazing idea. The lectures are interesting and full of information that engages the class. It is easy to tell that she puts effort into the course material. Overall, her personality and love for history make her classes amazing.
AMH 2010 by Prof. Bryson is a very interesting and fun class. You have 5 papers and a midterm and final so there isn't much work. Class is mandatory and will hurt your grade if you miss to much. The lectures didn't make me want to fall asleep and the essay topics were not dull. This is a very fun class and you will enjoy it.
Great professor. Go to class, take notes and write the few papers she gives and its an easy A.
very knowledgeable on her craft. would definitely take another class with her if i could!
Even while pregnant she maintained a great classroom experience. I highly recommend doing a great job on the midterm, it will make the class less stressful and maintaining the grade will be easy. It is a bottom heavy course though. A large portion of your grade will come from the end of the class. Did not use the textbook! DON'T BUY!
Professor Bryson was my favorite prof this year. She is clear, funny, and into history. She treats you like an adult and it feels like a real college class. Go to class and work on the papers if you want to pass. She will help you.
I've taken two classes with Professor Bryson because she is by far, one of the best there is. She holds you accountable, but understands that sometimes life gets in the way. The class isn't necessarily easy, but as long as you give it the old college try and ask for help when you need it, you will get the grade you deserve. Definitely enjoyed her!
Great professor, I loved taking her AMH 2010 that I took her again for AMH 2020! She gives you a week to complete an essay (2-3 pages). She responds to emails and even emails helpful examples for your final essay. The midterm and final are just an essay and a number of terms that can be defined in bullet points. One of my favorite professors ever.
After taking one class with Professor Bryson, I decided to go full time at Valencia. I plan to take every class that I can with her. If you have a chance, take modern America with her. She makes the lectures and class discussions interesting. The papers aren't bad. Go to class if you want to pass.
Made me love history. By far the best professor I ever had at Valencia. Her lectures are amazingly engaging and informative. Test are a good gauge of knowledge and are not too hard. Essays are challenging and fun, not dull and tedious at all. Take her for all of the History classes you can. Plus she's pretty good looking.
Amazing and best professor I've had at Valencia! Makes history lectures really interesting. Tests and essays are easy, easy grader. Super helpful and actually cares about students.
SHE IS THE SWEETEST PERSON! She's so nice, so flexible, and totally there for you. I could add more tags, but I'm only allowed 3. Not too much homework, which kind of stinks, because I want to make sure I have an A, but other than that, no complaints. I'm not a fan of history, but she's not boring, and she's pretty funny. A great teacher!
hands down the best teacher that i have had so far. Lectures are very clear and youll learn a lot in her class. Very nice and makes the class go by pretty fast. There are a couple of papers that are 800 words long, and 1 really long paper about 8 pages, but she keeps tabs on you to make sure your paper is on schedule. Would take again, amazing :)
Hands down BEST teacher I've ever had. I am so taking her for AMH 2010 and EUH, I totally love her, actually changed my major because of her. She is a sweet heart and truly cares about her class and has this passion for history. TAKE HER TAKE HER do not hesitate.
The nicest professor I have had at valencia. She truly cares for her students by making sure you understand the material. The lectures are entertaining & if the subject matter gets dry she has a way to make it entertaining. 5 essays, midterm & final. Highly recommend for history buffs or for those who find history boring. Amazing semester!!
Professor Bryson is one of the better if not the best History teacher Valencia offers. I took her 3 times. Twice in person, and once online. All amazing experiences. Her lectures are amazing and engaging and will make you enjoy History. She more than prepares you for test's and her essay topics are fun, and engaging. She is just amazing.
Extremely knowledgeable, discusses the current controversial subjects without biased indoctrination, the number of writing assignments through out the semester is very few, but their is an in-depth research paper that will be look at very thoroughly. I had a mid-term and final exam, that's it. Lecture heavy, attend class, very easy on the eyes.
Had American History online. Get all work done on time, elaborate on what is asked, participate in group discussions for minimum, one research paper, EASY A. Get all work done on time though, this is online with the idea of self initiative. Discussions can be fun, not all are regressive communists. She does not indoctrinate, treats all equally.
I took Ms Bryson's summer AMH2010 class and it was pretty simple. Read two chapters per week with 20 questions to answer with it. Also, there is a discussion post every week as well, relating to the chapter(s) that were read. That's pretty much it. The final is a long paper of your choosing, just has to be approved. Easy A, just do the work.
Dr Bryson loves history, but she gets that some people are just filling a requirement & tries to make it enjoyable. Usually has about 2-3 papers (500-700wc), and 1 major research paper (8-10pgs). Research paper subject is student's choice (as long as it fits the time period of the class). Awesome in-class study preps for both the midterm & final.
I signed up for her class thinking it was full term, but it was flex start. I was almost kicked out because DE students can't take flex, but they allowed it for 1 term. EASIEST PROF. EVER. Read 2 chapters a week and take the corresponding "quizzes" (it's pretty much an activity) and a discussion. TAKE HER! Only thing is the final is an 8 pg paper.
EASY A. 2 activites (taking you can keep taking until 100%) and 1 simple discussion per week. No quizzes or exams however, there is a 7-8 page paper due as the final, but you can literally pick any topic. Easiest class ever - I literally passed with a 100% grade.
She is so kind and caring like a mom. I would highly recommend her. An easy A
The workload is moderate - three short papers, weekly quizzes, midterm, final, and a long research paper. It sounds like a lot but she is really specific with her feedback so you know how to improve. She is crazy smart, nice, and quirky. You will not regret taking this prof.
I took her for online; a fairly simple and nice teacher. We had an unlimited tries chapter test and a discussion per week, which we had to reply to two other students. No midterms, we had a research paper final which was 30% of our grade. You can choose the topic, but it had to be in Chicago MLA format which threw me off a bit.
She is hands down the best professor at Valencia. Her lectures are really interesting b/c she knows her history. There are online quizzes due every Sunday, but you keep answering until you get a 100. Midterm & final are the same format, very easy. There are 2-3 short papers & one research paper. She works w/ you on the papers & gives a lot of time.
Great Class - one of the best classes/professors I have taken, I would take class again - will look to see other classes she teaches and take them if needed. Link says attendance is mandatory -it's not but she rewards attendance with attendance and participation points. Can turn Research paper in early for her review - then allows corrections
The online quizzes are tedious and assigns a quiz, discussion and sometimes an essay all due on Friday, which I believe students need until maybe Sunday to finish. Its cool that theres no final but ridiculous that the Final paper has to be in Chicago Manual Style, completely unnecessary and a waste of time. Easy A though.
She is so funny, nice and caring. I've never had a high A in a history class before. She made you feel very comfortable in the classroom and we had a lot of interesting conversations. I would recommend her to everyone! There are many extra credit opportunities. You would really have to try to fail this class.
Professor Bryson was awesome! I took her for AMH 2010 & 2020. The most recent class I took was online and it was hands down one of the most straight forward online classes I have taken. You do have to buy the book, but it is needed since the quiz questions come from there. One research paper at the end, but you can pick your topic. Very responsive!
The "quizzes" are short answer/short essay worksheets. I spent hours on them each week, granted I was in an accelerated course, but still, hours. The discussions you do each week are normal and interesting topics. She seems really nice, but just get ready to do a lot of work. Also the final essay was in Chicago Manual so that sucked.
Professor Bryson is a great teacher. She very understandable and her lectures are a little long but interesting. Her midterm and final are essay questions on specific things she wants. Take her class she is great.
I have taken Dr. Bryson for two classes. She is smart, relaxed, and interested in what her students think about every topic. The class is lecture and discussion and some group work. She kind of jumps around the room when she lectures which is funny. You will write a lot but she helps you. One of my favorite profs ever.
She is energetic, fun, and loves what she teaches. There's not a lot of HW, but there are some pretty tough essays. She will answer any questions you have though. The textbook was only used for a few HW assignments and just if you want a refresher outside of class. It's been a pleasure being in her class. I plan on taking her again next semester.
Professor Bryson is super hilarious and gives very interesting lectures. Quizzes are take home and the answers can be found directly in the textbook. This class is definitely an easy A and I will be sure to take her again for AMH 2020. Although many students complain about the final 7-8 page paper, she breaks it up into deadlines to make it easier!
Pretty much every class was a lecture but was very interactive where us as students were able to give input and our thoughts on what ever the topic was. There weren't many assignments so the few we did have meant a lot.
She was awesome!! I loved her class. She didn't give much home work I think a total of 4 short assignments and long ass paper (8pages). We had a movie day. she prepared us well for the final (except for the essay part i took an AP class that taught me how to write essays for tests) the only thing I'll say is a lot of what we learned was fluff .
History is usually my worst subject. However, this teacher makes it really interesting and fun. I'm currently taking her for the second part of American history and it is great so far. She lectures a lot, but it isn't reading off a powerpoint. It's very obvious that she is passionate for the subject, and wants to make it interesting for students.
Do yourself an awesome favor and take this teacher! Up until my freshman college year, I despised history classes. I struggled to memorize useless dates and names. But this teacher doesn't make you do that! She doesn't give an of hw and focuses more on students getting involved with lectures. She is really funny, caring, and loves what she teaches.
Do yourself a favor and take her class, very fun, interesting class. She cares for her students. Personally she made me start thinking outside the box and get rid of my bias opinions. She never expresses her opinions in any way she just wants people to think about all the possibilities out there. She gives a lot of papers, but the class is fun.
She has been my favorite professor at Valencia. You learn about social movements and regular people as much as you learn about powerful people. I would agree with comments below. She pushes you to think about everyone affected by history. Lectures, group work, and many papers. Cool lady.
My favorite professor EVER! She's so nice, caring, and understanding. She will feel like your 2nd mom! Her class is very informative and engaging. She brings up very hot topics but is respectful of all beliefs and opinions. In terms of classwork, there really isn't any homework except for the occasional essay and she provides study guides for test!
Online. Weekly discussion and quiz due on Friday, discussion reply on Sundays both at midnight. A few essays thrown in. Overall good teacher, I skipped several discussions because of pure laziness and was still capable of getting a good grade, she messaged us each weak on monday with inspiring messages "Keep going, you got this". Would take again.
Professor Bryson teaches in an unorthodox fashion which is important to note before taking her. She has many group discussions throughout lectures. We only had papers which actually made me learn A LOT about the material. I wish I had known there was so many papers, but overall she is very passionate and helpful.
On a scale of 1 to 10 for an easy A, her online class was a 9.5 or a 10. The quizzes were over 20 short answers and essay answers, but they were not timed which welcomes the student to complete it open-book. It was not hard to get perfect scores on discussions and essays, because she is not a picky grader. She responds to emails very quickly.
Dont buy the textbook, you can just google for all the quizzes. Discussion posts and quiz were easy points. Essay was actually graded so put time into that. 40% quiz and essay, 30% discussion post, and 30% final essay.
She is a really good professor. She is super nice.. Her lectures are really good and she grades pretty easy. She tells you clearly what she is looking for for each assignment. There are a few quizzes (which are really easy) and she provides a study guide for the midterm and final. There is also a research paper due at the end of the semester.
Not my favorite professor. Very boring teaching style, tried to stay awake but most of the time I did her piles of work instead of listening to her lectures. 3 quizzes on textbook material, 2-3 analysis papers, and 9-page research paper due at the end of the semester. A few extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Bryson is literally one of the best teachers I've ever had. She actually loves what she does and teaches and cares about all of her students. Her essays (which we only got like 2) are a little hard but as long as you do what she says you'll be fine. She is lecture heavy, but if you pay attention and take notes you'll be good. I HIGHLY recommend
Bryson is the best instructors I have ever had! I would definitely take her again if I could. She is an amazing person and will work around any complications you might have in her class. I have never enjoyed history until I had Bryson. Definitely would recommend her to anyone!
Professor Bryson is one of the best professors I have ever had. I hated history until I took her class last semester. I signed up for her again next semester, she is the best! She does have a few papers and one big final research paper but she prepares you well. Her classes consist of lectures but they are actually interesting.
Your quizzes every week are sent through a plagiarism checker so good luck with that. The quizzes are really long and take forever to complete. You have a quiz, discussion board, and essay due every week. Your final is an essay that is suppose to be 9 pages long. So much work!! Choose a different professor!!
I took Bryson for online early American history. Quiz and discussion each week. The quizzes take time. Discussions are usually interesting. Shes good about feedback. Seems cheerful.
You cannot Google for her quizzes since she checks for plagiarism. The quizzes are long and require so much work. Her discussions have a rubric. Overall, the workload is insane and requires so much time! I spent about 13 hours a week doing her work alone. You sometimes have an essay due every week besides quiz and discussion.
Online class has a quiz and a discussion every week. Really straightforward online class. The quizzes are short answer and short essay on book chapters. Discussions are sometimes controversial. About 2 hours of work a week. She is easy to get in touch with and always nice. Taking her again.
Probably the easiest course I have taken. Each week consists of a discussion board and quiz and are graded very lightly. The quizzes are not even timed so you have plenty of time to write out your answers. The final is just a pretty simple essay. I took this teacher for both my history requirements and I am glad I did.
This woman loves her job and helps students in any way that she can. I had a touch semester and she worked with me. Great lectures!!!! One thing, your grade comes from writing assignments so if you hate writing then dont take her.
I took Prof Bryson during the 2019 spring term. I had her for online AMH. The assignments we had due once a week consisted of quizzes and discussions, both of which are really easy if you use your resources. I never even bough the textbook because the information was found online. The final is just one paper. The class was relatively easy.
This class was really easy. Each week we went over 1 chapter (sometimes 2). We had to answer a discussion question and respond to 2 peers. There was also a quiz each week, but they are pretty easy even if you just skim through the book. The final was a set of letters as if we lived in different eras of our history.
Taken her twice. SUPER EASY. One quiz, discussion post with two responses a week. Quiz is in a word document, about 12 questions and one paragraph question. Don't need textbook to pass but I recommend it. Doesn't grade strict at all, got 100 on all assingments (pretty much completion grade).
I took Heather Bryson for AMH 2010 and it was amazing! I have never been a big fan of learning about history but her lectures made me enjoy taking this class. Her work load is reasonable and she always grades fairly. I would definitely recommend taking this class with her!
She is an easy grader, just do your work and you get full credit. I took her class online and I passed it so easily with an A. I reccomend her if you don't care for history because it's an easy class. But you do need to read and know a lot. She does a discussion and a quiz every week.
Professor Bryson is perfect for her job. She explains everything so well and provides a very welcoming environment for students. Her class includes interesting lectures with information that you cannot possibly find anywhere else. The extra credit opportunities are quite engaging. Highly recommend her for all your American history classes.
I hated history until I took her class. I'm taking her again for another class because I've never had a better professor. I took a mixed-mode class and it was definitely worth it. I learned more from her in one semester than in all my years in history classes.
This class was a lot of fun. There was a total of about 4 essay type assignment. One of those was a 10 page research paper that we spend half the semester working on. After the midterm there is something due every week so get ready to work. Dr. Bryson is a wonderful professor and always gave good feedback.
I am not the biggest fan of history but this professor made the experience very worth it, making her my favorite professor by far. I took this class online, and once you get the hang of the deadlines and the class overall, it is very easy. She is very clear on her grading criteria but she is a very easy grader. Must take!
Usual online class with a boat load of writing assignments. I took this in a protracted, 6 week summer course so it was double duty. Tests are tedious but not very difficult. You will need the book, though. She doesn't seem to grade too hard, though. I didn't drop a point the entire semester. Easy A in my opinion, and a fun class.
I had Professor Bryson for summer term A and as long as you do the work you should pass with an easy A. We had about 30 questions we had to do every week (answers in the book) and discussion posts every week. Also, she gives good feedback and helps you out if you need help.
Took in Summer A, course was not the overload. For this 6 Week Course, Five Discussions (250) and 2 replies (75), 4 Quiz which are based off textbook with questions of 4 different Chapters, Final Exam was Six Letters that you had to write in the perspectives of living in different time periods in Modern History. She grades everything on completion.
Weekly Discussions, Post relating to American History (250) and 2 Replies (75), Quiz occur every Week for Questions based off Chapters from Textbooks, Final Project is a series of letter of Point of Views of different points in American History, Easy A in Summer B, might have spread out Assignments every week if its Fall or Spring.
This teacher loves history! She made it come alive! Dr. Bryson made the class the most interesting class i have ever had. The grade consists of attendance, a quiz for each chapter, 3 papers including one final paper, a midterm, a few small papers, and one take home final Paper that was easy. Take her class!
Wow, I loved this class. It was super interesting and not a heavy course load at all very manageable. 2 essays and a discussion every week, and nice constructive grading/feedback :)
Professor Bryson makes this class very doable. Discussion and quizzes every week that are pretty easy and help you to keep track of your work, one midterm essay, and one final paper that are not hard at all. 100% would take her again and I will probably take her for EUH 2001 Also, she answers all emails really fast.
Prof Bryson was a great professor. Her class was the easiest class I've ever taken. We had a weekly discussion where we wrote a 250 word post, and then we had 2 75 word replies. There was also a unlimited attempt quiz almost every week. There were no tests, just 2 papers. I didn't like that the class seemed to have a liberal agenda.
I absolutely loved professor Bryson, Shes very passionate and a great professor, she makes all her lectures extremely interesting. I totally recommend you to take her, you wont regret it
Professor Bryson is my favorite instructor. She is well informed on all things concerning AMH. She teaches mainly in lectures, but they are fun. You will learn things that you never knew. She has a lot of fun facts about history and really makes you think about it's long term impact. She's knowledgable and is willing to work with every student.
Dr. Bryson is the best professor that I've had so far. There are no tests in this class and the only real assignments are a midterm and final paper and she gives plenty of time and provides help to do these. The quizzes that are due every week are straight from the textbook and are participation grades through learning curve.
Amazing professor, probably one of my favorites I've had yet. She's so wonderful and understanding. No big tests just 2 essays for a midterm (5 pages) & final (10 pages). It's easier than it sounds. She likes discussions in class and online. Really tries to make the class fun. Work is minimal but you still won't pass if you ignore assignments.
this teacher is an easy a+ for anyone who wants to slack off and pass. I would highly recommend this teacher to anyone because of the fact that she is a super easy grader and the quizzes are just as well. super easy grader and a fantastic teacher.
Her online class is straightforward. Every week is a textbook quiz, a discussion about a chapter or documentary, and there is a midterm essay and final essay. The quizzes are for completion, the discussions are graded on easy rubric. Be careful with essays tho. She grades those like an English prof.
Professor Bryson is so amazing! Her grading criteria is so clear and she is also very kind. We had to transition online due to COVID-19 & she made it such a simple and smooth transition. I look forward to taking her class again for my civic literacy credit.
Professor Bryson was great, honestly the first few classes I was worried about the rest of the semester because it seemed to lose me in the first few meetings, but if you ask her questions before or after class, she is extremely approachable. Make sure you do the homework, the class is fast-paced so do your homework, dread ahead and it's an easy A.
Loved this teacher I'm not really good in History but her class was very easy 2 research papers and discussion post every week She gives great feedback for everything you turn in and answers emails fast Such a nice person too!
I wish I could take this professor with me to my next school. She is an amazing professor and really cares about her students succeeding. The online quizzes are simple and easy to answer and the final paper was assigned in chunks so it wasn't overwhelming! Lecture heavy course, but she opens the floor for class discussion often. Highly recommend!!!
Weekly quizzes (2) and 250 W Discussion post and 75 W responses. 2 papers. Not that hard of a class just do the work and you'll be fine.
Great Professor! I took this class summer B and it was a very fast-paced (6-week course). Workload: every week 4 chapters,4 quizzes, 1 essay due Friday 1 discussion post 250 Words 2 responses 75 Words due Saturday. So 5 essays and 1 final paper. I devoted a lot of time to this class, and feel that if you have the time and endurance you'll be fine.
Excellent professor with a clear, easy to understand syllabus. Lots of reading with weekly dialogues due but interesting and easy to get through. Only one research paper due at the end but you choose the topic. I would definitely take this professor again!! Easy to get ahold of and she wants you to do well. Take her!
I took her class online due to the pandemic; however, she uploaded weekly videos explaining her expectations. Overall, clear and concise instruction. This class is paper heavy, has Inquisitive quizzes, & weekly discussion.*The book is necessary for this class due to her requiring you use it as a source for your papers* I would definitely recommend!
I took her RTV class in fall 2020 during the pandemic and she was absolutely the best professor I've had. She answers all of your questions and emails you have. She's such a sweetheart. And for your final, it's a research paper and you pick a topic on something you want to research.
I took this course during the full term for Fall, you will have a weekly quiz, discussion post 250 words 75 word reply. During the full term course some weeks we had a paper and the final is a paper. Just as the other posts stated, you pick the topic . Professor Bryson is an amazing teacher and gives great feedback. Be ready to work! Book Needed
I always struggled with history, but Professor Bryson made this class so easy!! She is super duper sweet and cooperative. She has a clear set up for the class which prevents you from being overwhelmed. The class workload is not a lot. I definitely recommend her!!
Professor Bryson was great but her class had a lot of work and discussion posts. It is an easy class if you complete all the assignments.
I could not learn in her class because there were no lectures, only textbook reading and it is extremely difficult for me to learn that way. Maybe this is because I took the class online, but i only passed because i could find answers online with little effort.
There are 3 assignments a week and they are all very simple with clear criteria. The last assignment is a 2000 word research paper about whatever you want. She is very forgiving about late work and always gives clear feedback. It is not difficult at all to get an A in this class and it really takes up minimal time. I would definitely recommend her.
Professor Bryson is a good teacher and is almost always available for questions. She gives a reasonable amount of homework and gives you time to finish them. During the course, you read the book and complete the homework assignments related to it, which she posts at the beginning of the week. She is not a harsh grader and is very understanding.
She is a really good professor. The way she sets up the course is where the true magic happens. The course is designed for you to truly learn. If you do all the homework and participate in the discussions you would finish the semester with lots of knowledge.
Professor Bryson is honestly one of the best professors I've had. She made discussions on current history issues and on the chapters. There is balrey anyassimmgnets besides a chapter summmaray and a discussions. I had a total of 3 essays and one final essay as your final. She is really sweet and responds to email in less than 24 hours.
Took this class online. She is really nice and she let me turn in late assignments from a while back. The class is super easy if you just read the textbook and do the weekly discussion post. She isn't a tough grader. She emails back fast if you ever have any questions/concerns. Highly recommend.
Take her class!!! You won't regret it. She had weekly discussions, occasionally an assignment, and easy multiple-choice questions (which come from an access code in the textbook so you do need the book). However, she graded amazingly, was super chill and sweet, and had a project as her final.
Heather Bryson's class was very informative and easy in my opinion. I'm a dual-enrolled student and received a 100, the final is an 1800 word essay but she gives you weeks to work on it and it's pretty easy, quizzes(learning curves) are completion grades, and there are discussions almost every week but they are easy. Occasional short essays.
Weekly learning curve quizzes (graded on completion), discussions (250 words) and a couple short, easy essays. Her final is an 1800-word essay, but she gives you a few weeks on that. Very easy assignments to follow through and complete in time and she responds fast and is understanding. Definitely recommend
Great option for taking history. You will not regret taking her class.
Professor Bryson is a great choice for American history. The class has a sizeable amount of homework, but as long as you are diligent and stay on top of your assignments it isn't hard to succeed. Every week there's a chapter to read, a quiz, and a discussion post or a short paper. The final is a research paper on a topic of your choice.
Lovely. It's all I have to say
the sweetest prof ever and so incredibly knowledgeable. take her if you have the chance. passed w an A. only a few assignments a week.
She is the NICEST LADY I have ever met!!! She is SO understanding with everything and truly wants you to do your best! By far my favorite professor I have had at Valencia!
One of the best professors I've had. Super understanding and always has her best interest for her students. Take her class you will not regret it. I took her class online all we had were discussions every week, these learning curve assignments and a paper for the final and we got to choose out topic. She is absolutely amazing so take her class!
Dr. Bryson is a very caring professor, who truly seems to have her students' best interests at heart. I enjoyed and appreciated the subjects she chose to highlight in this course. The final research paper is broken into several assignments that are due during the final weeks of class, making it easier to complete with finals from other classes.
NO TESTS/QUZZES/EXAMS! Lots of homework (that you can't fail), discussion posts, and short papers. Final is a research paper. Come to class ready to add to the discussion. Lot of discussions and class lectures. If you're like "oh man, I have to read a little in order to pass an easy class" then just drop out of college already.
For a teacher, she's very nice and understanding. She sets clear grading criteria for the homework and is a relatively easy class. The homework can sometimes be time consuming, and that's the only bad thing about this class.
Prof Bryson is a very nice person and her lectures are overall enjoyable. If you do not show up to class you will fail due to attendance grades. Her assignments are easy when you put the effort in, but there are a lot of them and they do take time. Her lectures are very interactive so if no one is participating she will call people out.
Amazing professor! Class is v easy; weekly assignments consist of online reading w questions (unlimited attempts), a discussion post, and short reading assignment where you right a paragraph or two on a certain topic. She's willing to work with you, even for late assignments, as long as you communicate with her. She wants her students to succeed!
AMAZING professor. If you're not that much into history, I promise you that you will enjoy her class. Workload was easy, but get ready to do your own research and come to class to share. She was one of the most caring professors I've had at Valencia, and I appreciated how she cares about the success of all her students in her class.
Professor Bryson is hands down my favorite professor yet! Nice and straightforward...located on the East campus, so I was never able to go to any of her study sessions, but her online impression is lovely! Only a quiz, discussion, and assignment weekly...easy grader as long as you put forth your best effort. No final exam, just a research paper.
Professor Bryson was the best! She is very understanding and caring. Don't hesitate to contact her if you're struggling she makes her class a safe space. Her lectures are interactive, usually almost always group assignments so beware (only in class). Her work is very easy, some take longer than others but overall super easy! She is AMAZING!
she's a very nice teacher and an easy grader too! I loved taking her class and she gave us cool assignments to do, she made online learning fun.
Prof Bryson releases modules weekly which are usually a quiz, discussion, and another random assignment. Instructions are clear and assignments arent too long. She gives good feedback and grading is straightfoward. My only advice is to start the final project early and work throughout the semester because I got lazy and turned it in half way done.
Amazing prof! The course material is very easy and she tries to make it as enjoyable as she can. She's very lenient on extensions. I would message her the day the assignment was due for an extension and she will still give it to me. She's very nice and easy to talk to. It's impossible to not get an A in her class. The workload is light.
Professor Bryson is the sweetest! She makes class so enjoyable and her lectures are far from boring. She uses a free textbook which is definitely a plus and the workload is more than manageable. 10/10 would take again!
I would be genuinely excited to go to class and listen to her very educated lectures. Take this professor if you can!
Professor Bryson is one of the most kind-hearted professors I have ever met. She cares deeply about her students and wants them to succeed. Her lectures are exciting and you always leave with having learned something new. I would absolutely recommend this class and her American history class to everyone!
Not much to say, great teacher as far as online goes, always laid out everything in advance for the weeks to come. Inquisitives was used for homework, kinda tedious but all the answers were online so not too bad. If you need this class for graduation requirements than she's a really good pick!
I finished this class with a A+ i was glad i took this course, the one annoying thing is the inquizitives thats it, but they are easy to get done with the help of the internet. Take that as you will. Besides that the assignments are easy. The teacher is incredibly kind and helpful, she makes weekly videos that i watch. And her feedback is great.
Professor is wonderful at first i thought iit was gonna be rough but it was actually a lot of fun but it sucks it was at 10 am but we live. she cares so much about her students and there success. She really focuses on group based learning and always wants to hear our opinion. i will be taking her again soon so I'm excited. great professor.
Assignments largely consist of reading the textbook every week and submitting questions that can be directly answered using information from the textbook. There are occasional assignments that are fun and engaging. There is a final project, but she builds up to it, and the grading criteria is clear, and she is willing to provide feedback if needed.
Professor Bryson makes this class super enjoyable. The workload is manageable, with a free textbook and no final exam - just a research paper. I found unstuckstudy really helpful for essay prep. Overall, a great professor who makes learning easy!
I highly recommend her. Her excellent ratings are truly well-deserved! She releases assignments weekly, typically due on Fridays, but she is very understanding of personal circumstances that may cause delays. For instance, I informed her about an upcoming cruise, and she graciously allowed me to submit my work after I returned. Truly amazing!
Professor Bryson is truly an angel. She was the only professor who really understood when my laptop broke, and she accepted my late work, giving me as much time as I needed to turn it in. The class was extremely well-organized, and I learned so much. She's incredibly kind, which made the experience completely stress-free. I genuinely loved it.
I want other students to know that professor Bryson is awesome.
She is SOOO nice and gives good feedback. Workload is usually like 1 quiz a week where it's just written answers to like 10-15 question from the online textbook (american yawp) and then a discussion. There is like a final project but she splits it into different parts so that you don't wait til the last minute, which is super helpful. take her!
I can't say enough good things about her. She is so kind and educated, and so engaging with students. I got an insanely high A in her course. She teaches things that are interesting and that need to be taught more. She is accommodating and a great communicator. TAKE HER!! SHES LOVELY!!!
Take this professor
If you are taking multiple classes, this class can be a burden. Assignments are very detailed and take time to complete, so be prepared to work all semester (especially if the class is accelerated)! However, Professor Byrson is very kind and allowed late work, which was amazing! Thank you, Professor Byrson!
I was putting off taking AMH2020 for the Civil Literacy requirement for semester after semester. I finally this summer took it online (the accelerated one) and it has been really enjoyable. There is a lot of reading on the online textbook for her Quizzes, but allow time and it's a breeze. She is an ANGEL and SO kind. I'd love to take her others.
Like the review below me, I put off taking the AMH2020 semester after semester because of the Civil Literacy requirement (which is bogus)... I took her mini summer class - it is a lot of reading and the quiz questions are lengthly. But she is an absolute GEM and so, so kind. I would like to take an in-person with her if I am able to. Enjoy!
I took Bryson for AMH 2020 in Spring 2025 and her lectures couldn't be any better; they are very engaging! The assignments are fairly easy, you just need to lock in and focus. Bryson also accepts late work and is such a caring and understanding professor! I decided to take her again for EUH 2001 for Fall 2025 because she's that great!
She's a champ, and she keeps it a beam on another level like a queen does! She's a gem! Don't miss out!
Dr. Bryson is one of the most understanding professors I've had. She gives about five assignments every 2–3 weeks and uses a free online textbook. I once missed submitting work due to a calendar mistake, emailed her, and she let me make up everything. Highly recommend this class!
Dr. Bryson is an amazing professor! Although she assigns long chapters to read, she does not grade harshly. She is understanding of personal circumstances and doesn't take it out on your grade if something happens. Participation is usually minimal but sometimes required during discussions, usually in the form of a couple sentences. Overall 10/10!
