Absolute queen love her so much.
Not very helpful
She was very condescending to her students and did not respect our schedules. The class was asynchronous online with quizzes due every sunday, and would not post lectures until friday and would get annoyed when we emailed her asking questions. She was not very nice, and would not take her again. She's one of the reasons I switched majors.
This class was my most favorite online class that I have ever taken. Dr. Charles is very straight forward with tests and gives a review prior to the test. If you do the review, you will be fine. I made an A while serving Active Duty in the military and being a full time mom. This class was excellent! HIGHLY recommend her.
Very, very lecture heavy, responds late to student emails, and always posted lectures and power points close to their due date.
took professor Charles for Bio during COVID, and the class was asynchronous. She always had an excuse when it came to posting the lectures only 2 days before the chapter quizzes were due. Prepare to have a quiz every week (sometimes 2), and 3 tests that basically everyone will fail. All tests and quizzes are on lockdown and webcam is mandatory!
this class is a quiz every week and an exam every 5 ch. she curved all our tests and the final was optional. she wasn't the absolute worst but def difficult, a student got covid & asked for an extension on an exam and she said no. the NEXT week, SHE got covid and was out for 3 weeks. if u study, u'll be fine but overall, id pick someone else
I took this class during COVID-19, so her class was asynchronous. I suck at doing online school so I kinda struggled. She only gives out quizzes and exams. You get no homework in this class, but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing (just depends on how you study I guess..). Besides that, she really nice and responds to emails fast.
Her lectures were never posted on time and she would wait until the last second to post her lectures. They were hard to listen to and I felt like I learned more from Youtube and reading the textbook. She prioritizes other things over her students learning.
The people who say this professor is good are LYING. She never respected her students and always posted lectures late. She always had some excuse as to why she posted the lectures two days before the quiz. The lectures/powerpoints she posted werent helpful at all. She had to curve every exam because the average would be fifties EVERY TIME.
I took this class during COVID. DO NOT recommend her at all, this class really discouraged my ability to become a nurse. The quizzes every week were based off the lecture but the tests covered NOTHING that she taught.
She never helps with ANYTHING!!! She literally said that we were on our own. She never posted anything on time. Would never answer students' emails and found an excuse for everything. She gave curves on tests only because all of her students were getting 50's, she gave the curve to make herself look good in front of the other professor.
Dr. Charles provides everything you need to pass this course. I will say this class was difficult, but I expected that. I did well on the exams, but not so much on the lab practicals. Be aware some are fill in the blank, but thankfully she goes back and adds a lot of extra points. She even changed our lowest test score! She's great!
2nd time taking AP II. Of all the AP II teachers, she's 1 of the best. Just like other AP II classes, YOU HAVE TO STUDY, but Dr. Charles gives good lectures. Drops the lowest exam grade & Ch quiz. The quizzes are easy but the exams are hard; extra grades help. She has 1 week window for exams. Easy A if you listen to lectures thoroughly & take notes
Very good professor. Cares a lot about her students and what they have to say. She does upload her presentations before class and only uses class time to "review" those presentations so it's kind of hard to keep up sometimes, but overall very straight to the point. Class isn't mandatory, but she notices who joins and keeps that in mind at the end.
I liked the class, it was a little hard in the beginning, but as long as you read the textbook you'll be fine, DON'T DEPEND ON THE SLIDES/LECTURES ALONE!!! She gives big curves and I ended passing the class.
I would not recommend as a first choice. The professor never posted lectures, quizzes, and exams on time. Hardly anything from the quizzes was on the exams and just about every student I've talked to from the class was also failing and had the same issues as I did. I wish she would have given some homework or posted reviews so that we could pass.
Dr. Charles truly cares for her students. I really believe that Dr. Charles wants her students to do well, and her grades reflect that. Compared to other A&P professors, she is a breath of fresh air. The downside is that she was often late in getting materials to the class in a timely manner. While frustrating, I still highly recommend.
Dr. Charles used lectures and assignments from Prof. Pollock. In his intro video he stated that he would not help with anything and we have a week to figure it out. It pretty much went downhill from there. What was being studied was not on the exams and when I expressed frustration, I rec the, "well other ppl have gotten A's this time." response.
Dr. Charles's teaching style is very straightforward. AP2 is generally a challenging class, but with Dr. Charles, it didn't feel overwhelming. Coupled with her genuine care for students, in my opinion, she's the best AP professor I've taken. There are two types of quizzes to cushion your grade, and the lowest exam is dropped. Highly recommend; 4/5.
Dr. Charles is really nice! I took her for Neurobiology as selected topics 3310, but she actually has the class set up as a 5000 level course for master's students. Don't really need to the textbook. Two exams are worth 30% of grade each, showing up to class is 20% of grade and open-note and book quizzes are 20%. Interesting class, not too hard
Dr. Charles can be a little disorganized, but she is sweet and cares about students. She struggled to get our lectures posted in time, but she would give us extra time and attempts on quizzes when it was her fault. Tests off PPs and not text, so really focus on her lectures. Overall, easier professor.
Professor Charles was sometimes disorganized, but she recognized when she was not on top of things and made it right. Made our tests open-book and provided extra-credit assignments to make the class fair for a 5-week. I can tell she genuinely cares about student's learning and wants us to get the best educational experience possible.
Took her async-online. Quiz every week with a 40-80 minute lecture over the quiz. YOU DO NOT NEED THE BOOK DO NOT BUY THE BOOK she will provide you the book. Take notes and review the lectures, even past ones weekly. Exams are not cumulative. Quizzes are 10 questions each with 3-attempts (Lockdown browser WITH webcam)
Took her asynchronous class, it was okay. Her review days arent worth the gas lol. If you want to succeed in this class you NEED to read the book. Quizzes arent so bad. She only has quizzes every week as homework, and three exams, and the final is optional. She also does curve exams depending on how everyone did on it.
Took her async-online class, lecture days didn't really help. She gives you 3 attempts on the quizzes which are 10 questions each. Tests are really hard, so don't cram for it. Everything is on LOCKDOWN Browser with WEBCAM on. No extra work given either, it's just the quizzes which are worth 25%, and exams 75%.
Only assignments are quizzes (25%) and exams (75%). I took the asynonline course. There are lectures uploaded for every week along with a weekly 10 question quiz with three attempts. Lockdown browser and webcam required for every quiz and exam. She provides the textbook, READ IT! That is the only way you will pass the exams! Gives curves on exams.
Dr. Charles is amazing. She truly cares! This is not an easy course in general, you really need to comprehend the material before you take a quiz or exam. Overall she's awesome and curves her exams a lot!! I had a 68 and she curved it to an 80! Take her please!
The reviews she gives don't help whatsoever. Maybe only two things from the review is actually on the test. On the exams, the questions are based off of 2 other professors. The quizzes kind of help you on the exam but not so much. You have 3 chances to retake the quizzes but she only tells you that once.
Avoid her please. Only have quizzes and test and the test are made up of 75% of your grade. Gave me zeros for all test. Failed with our even taking the final.
i would say to take Dr. Charles if you can. For me, it was asynchronous, which means we only met before exams. the class was mainly only quizes, which there was one due each weekend, and three exams. She gave pretty solid curves, which honestly saved my grade. Definitely recommend.
Only have quizzes and text. Only good thing about her is the curves. Gave me zeros for test 1 and 2 and waited till the last week of class to file a report knowing we needed this credit for A&P. Definitely makes me want to transfer. AVOID HER!! She should not be teaching bio.
Took professor Charles Fall 2021, and was okay in terms of lecture. Quiz every week w/ 3 attempts, and exams were the bulk of the grade but had curves due to the exam material being shared between 2 professors. Study quiz questions and the textbook as you will need those to pass the class. Everything has lockdown browser w/ webcam.
This is her FIRST time teaching cell physiology (BIOL 3301) and I'm not even half way through the semester and I can already say TAKE HER! The way she explains the material makes it interesting and much easier to understand than the book. There is a lot of material and she wants her students to succeed. Hope she continues teaching this class!
The course is SYNCHRONOUS, meaning she needs to teach DURING lectures but since she was so focused on not "falling behind", made us watch small recordings after if she didn't complete her lecture in 50 minutes. Went to a wedding, did not upload videos correctly, missed quizzes, delayed exam & almost tried making us take it on a weekend LOL.
There is a "required" textbook although it is not& no one even reads it. However she makes it a point in pretty much every lecture to say how much she hates the book or says "I wish the book explained __ better, I wasn't in love with how the book said __/didn't say __" Very repetitive and annoying. Don't even include book name in syllabus then
Exams & quizzes based on lecture powerpoints which mostly only include pictures, not words, so not helpful when studying. Had to stop attending lectures to be able to pause & write an entire transcript of what was said. Complains abt the book too much in every class, no one even reads it anyway.
While the open book quizzes do help bring ur grade up a bit, her lectures are RLY intense. Exams based off slides which BARELY have any words& lots of complicated pictures.Had to write literal transcripts of what she said from Echo360 lectures so I could pause every 2 seconds to write. She needs to make the slides better or give transcripts herself
One of the worst professors you can take. We go behind because of her and she basically rushed us. Shes so worried about not falling rather than making sure we understand the material.
Dr. Charles is a great teacher for A&P. Her lectures were great, and she cared about the material she was teaching. Her Exams were based on the lecture, so if you go to class and pay attention, you'll do well. an A is very achievable.
Dr. Charles made the lecture part for A&P I interesting and easy to understand. Her exams are based on her PowerPoint slides and what she lectures during class. What I used to study were her learning objectives that were given in each PowerPoint. I made study guides based on those learning objectives and was able to make Bs/As on her exams.
This professor does not communicate with the students at all regardless of it being an online course I would not recommend taking her.
I would not recommend taking this lady for an online course this is my worst experience yet. Communication skills are poor and takes up to a week for a response. Exams also may focus solely on one thing while someone else's exam gets no questions regarding the topic. Not very fair in my opinion
avoid this professor at all costs if you would like a fair learning experience.
Doesn't seem well informed on many of the topics in this course. I asked her questions regarding an exam and her response was not only late but did not answer my question at all.
Teaching style?? There is none. She doesn't teach you teach yourself. The exams would make more sense if the information being taught aligned. Don't take this lady.
It's hard to get in contact with this professor so if your one who likes to reach out for a little help don't expect her to respond.
Material is tough and detailed, but her lectures made it interesting. Studied her lectures, and only used the book for details I missed. Studied using flash cards, concept maps, and summaries comparing similar concepts. Quizzes are open book and detailed. Tests are closed book and require comprehension, but less detailed. Optional extra credit.
Professor Charles may be alright in other subjects but steer clear for a&p2.
Her work in this class was minimal and she is unable to provide support or direction to students.
No reason for a professor for this course all material comes from one person and it's not her and you can obviously tell
Be prepared to have exams that go over the smallest part of a PowerPoint for multiple questions if not almost half of exam.
Do not take her for an online course.
Practicals are extremely difficult and nothing like the lab quizzes. Be prepared to struggle.
Retook for a better grade should have takin in with Schargel, she provides literally no help or direction to prepare. She takes forever to respond and does not even answer direct question being asked.
Considering how difficult the anatomy courses are, she does not put ANY effort in helping the students. She is just here to do her bare minimum work so that she can collect her paycheck. Take pollock or schargel instead.. trust me you can thank me later.
The class is easy, lectures are necessary but attendance is not since everything was recorded. Quizzes are open notes with questions that take directly from the PowerPoint. Exams are all online on lockdown browser and open for 36 hours so there is plenty of time to take them if you have other classes, especially when they are on the weekend.
Zero communication from professor the entire course. Tests don't match the "practice exams" she posts and questions are pulled from a huge question bank. Basically impossible to prepare for an exam because you have no clue what is going to be put on it. No curves or lowest grade drops.
I was surprised to see all the bad reviews. Obviously A&P is going to be hard regardless of professor and I honestly think Charles is your best bet for the class. Tons of open note quizzes to help your grade. She makes it clear that she will not test on topics that aren't in her power points. Lowest exam and quiz was dropped. No curves though.
Best professor I have ever had (especially in the sciences). The tests are only over material that is covered in lecture so be sure to go over the videos. Great at explaining difficult concepts and very understanding. The class is very difficult, but manageable because of Dr. Charles' teaching.
She's an awesome professor! Go through the PowerPoints(know how the processes work), read the chapters ahead of time so you won't be behind. It's very easy to slack off in this class, you don't necessarily need to prioritize it but pay enough attention in lecture. She'll say and explain topics that are the exact answers on quizzes and exams.
Took 3310 during the summer, 5 weeks. Lectures online, activities in-person 2 days/week to solidify material (10 pts/week), 2 exams & 5 quizzes (all open book/internet)! She condensed a lot of material so concepts flowed easily since Neurobio can be complex. Pay attention to PPTs, take advantage of open book, easy class easy A. Take in summer!!!
I usually disregard reviews for professors because I know a lot of it is how much you time you put into a course. However, she gives no direction on what to study nor does she reply to emails. I watched the lecture videos, read the textbook, took practice tests, made flashcards, studied 4-6 hours daily, and it's been very difficult to maintain a C.
Choose a different professor if possible
Dr. Charles is very knowledgeable and also understanding. She would record her in-person lectures & upload them later for you to study. The material is presented straightforwardly and her tests are over the textbook & lectures so just put the time in and you'll make an A. A little slow to reply to emails. If you're taking a&p2 I recommend her
Her lectures weren't helpful and actually contradicted the extra reading material she posted on multiple occasions. She then had questions over that material on tests and quizzes that no one knew if they should put the right answer or "her answer". Having bad lectures and little instruction made a medium-hard class quite difficult.
She's really nice and answers any questions you may have. She's not a bad professor but definitely not the best. Her lectures consist if working as a team and completing in-class activities. I wouldn't recommend taking her if you're truly trying to understand the material and go in-depth over concepts during class.
Overall, great professor. Exams only have what was on the slides. On quizzes, there are many things we don't go over so make sure to read the textbook. Good at responding. Very knowledgable.
Took this professor for my Pre-nursing major. Her test are very difficult even if you study everything that she lectures and more. Her lectures aren't the best too. She is extremely hard but she does curve the grade at the end of the semester. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone at all.
You leave her lectures thinking oh my goodness this is so simple and then it in fact it's not that simple. She will lecture about one thing and then her quizzes will be something completely different and it's not even in the textbook. Her tests are about the same she will say oh this won't be on the test but it will be on the test trust me.
Her lectures were not very good. If you want to do well in Biol 1345, you need to teach yourself during your own study time. I cannot imagine passing A&P with her.
You have a quiz each week which is fine because you have three chances for it the problem was the exams it had almost nothing we practiced on most people failed all exams she drops the lowest grade of exams which good but study hard and use khan after you study the material she gave you make reviews and hope she curves
Overall, what will be offered to pass the class is a module with videos, lecture slides, a practice quiz (except for module 10), e-text readings, the lecture, teams + office hours, and your own determination. Make sure you are not underestimating the quiz/exams! You'll have to give up your weekends to take exams and quizzes- that is what I did :(
This professor is fair but tough. You must do exactly what the assignments say in order to receive credit. Buy the book and read the chapters. If you comprehend them you will do okay.
Dr. Charles is an excellent and caring professor, very helpful with any questions during her office hours! The A&p1 material is challenging, so make sure you ask questions to understand the material as the lessons stack up! The lecture and lab grades are merged; be mindful to the outlines and learning objectives as exams topics depend on them!
She is very engaging, but for me personally, bio isn't my strongsuit. She is a good teacher, but very wordy. She is very thorough though, so I can appreciate that.
Professor Charles is a great person as far as personality, but as a teacher, she is not the best. She lectures off powerpoint slides and does not teach the material that is learned on the quizzes/tests. You really have to study on your own for this course. I recommend making a study group. That is the only way I got an A.
i have straight A's in my other courses yet had to drop this one due to her unclarity. i even had a meeting with her on how to better prepare myself for exams and practical's. the practical's is nothing like an actual one, she asks u to label maybe two things out of 50-60 questions... any multiple choice has 6-7 options. Absolutely terrible
This class did not have a lot of homework, although lots of material to digest, but she provides lots of e text readings/free online book and videos. Most of the stuff on the test did not match up with her lectures and notes, that is why you should study the book and e text readings, instead of her notes. Easy course, if you study enough
With any online class, I expect to teach myself. However, what makes a difference is when the professor communicates with the students and discusses recommendations and resources. Charles did nothing. One email at the very start of the course and another one after Thanksgiving break telling us she's behind on emails. She's tough to get ahold of.
She is a great teacher. The class can be a bit rough since there is a lot of material, but that's just how it is. She is very good at lecturing and will answer any question you have. She does not mind repeating herself multiple times. I recommend taking notes of the e-text readings she publishes on Canvas as most of that info is tested on the exams
Hard instructor but if you are diligent in your work and communicate with her or the TAs, then you will do fine. I took her online 8-week course, which was tough because of how fast-paced it was. She gives you 3 attempts for the homework, and I recommend saving the homeworks (with the answers). It will help you with the final.
I think Professor Charles is a great professor. Her lectures follow PowerPoint slides that go over everything on the tests. I studied the lecture slides, my notes from the lectures, and the video resources provided in the modules and finished with an A. I am excited to take her again next semester for A&P 1.
I personally thought Dr. Charles was a great professor. She is very kind and understanding and willing to work with you through any issues. The lectures and material can be overwhelming and difficult at times. There is not much homework, but the more you study, the better you will perform on exams. She also provides extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Charles was a kind professor and was always ready to answer questions. The main thing I have to say is just go to lectures and make sure to take notes to prepare for exams. The homework was not too difficult and there was not much of it. She always emphasizes to ask for help if you need it, so definitely take advantage of her office hours.
Dr. Charles is really nice and provides a lot of resources for her students. She's a good professor it is just a hard class. She provides objectives for each chapter so you know what to study. She responds to emails and will actually answer your questions. She will also give points back if a question is dumb or wasn't lectured over properly.
Dr. Charles is a excellent lecturer, she will answer any question, no matter how unrelated or silly it may seem. Do not be afraid to ask her to repeat a topic. Content is heavy and will need a few hours of studying a week. Kind, however does not respond to emails in a timely manner. Solid choice for a professor nothing I would really complain about
Dr Charles is an amazing professor and really helps students understand the material. The class is a lot of work, but I personally think lab was a lot more difficult than lecture. For lecture, make sure you have a good understanding of the learning objectives and you will do well on exams. She also offered some extra credit which was helpful.
This professor was the best bc she was able to explain the material in depth and answer questions kindly to help students understand. She was fair, but make sure to ask questions and communicate. Study the ppt not the book, follow guides for the quizzes that weigh more than exams and study a week or two before practicals.B+ in lab/ A- in lec= (A)
I took her for A&P 1 and struggled at the beginning as you really have to study for her class. She gives chapter quizzes (1 or 2) after each chapter along with homework. The quizzes are on lockdown browser + webcam so you need to know your stuff. She provides an outline that I suggest spending time filling out and understanding.
She took over the class when original prof passed away, and she was amazing. She came in, told us she was going to support us and did just that. She stripped down the reading to essentials, expanded in lecture, and made super helpful exam reviews. Super available and understanding of a difficult situation.
Well the class is a pretty fair class, there are 5 exams but 1 is dropped. There are quizzes which aren't time but only 1 attempt. Then there is homework which is really easy and you get infinite amount of attempts. The professor is good at what she does. Will be taking her for immunology for sure. She's very funny and helps you on various topics.
Make sure you read from the power point and. Attendance is not mandatory but you get extra credit from class participation which may weigh up to 72 points which comes out to be very helpful. Quizes are in lock down browser, carries huge percentage. Your final exam (easier than other exams) replaces your lowest exam score.I had B-(LAB)&A+(Lecture)=A.
I love this teacher. Her lectures were so good and matched perfectly with what we were tested on. A&P was hard, but she explained material perfectly. One time I had COVID in her bio class during an exam and she was super understanding. Just be prepared to study a lot for A&P, but I just think it's a hard class in general.
This was the most unorganized class. This course is lecture heavy, and there is so much homework and projects jammed into one week. The lectures are about 3-4 hours long, along with projects, homework, and trying to study for the exam. In the syllabus, she states that you need 30 hours a week to study for this class. I do not recommend this class.
For context, Dr. Charles was selected last minute for Summer 2024 following internal department problems and did well teaching a course she hadn't taught in a while. She understood her students by providing extensions on exams, 3 attempts on quizzes (5 lowest drop), and providing recordings on Echo360. A&PII is difficult regardless of professor.
She was very thoughtful with her lectures and was more than happy to answer everyone's questions, even the silly questions. The 5-week course itself is hard, but personally, I think she was very lenient in her grading and gave us lots of extra points. If your grade is within one whole point of the next letter, she will curve it!
I love Dr. Charles. I've had her for 3 classes and have gotten an A for them. A&P2 in the summer was so fast and difficult, but I love how she teaches. She cares about her students and will give extra credit for a few things. Use the learning objectives as a study guide. Study the quizzes. Thought lab practicals were harder than lecture exams.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. She makes students feel inferior for not understanding the criteria even though she words and explains it in the most difficult way possible. I took her for bio, I should have known to steer clear when she tried to bribe her students into giving her good ratings on the end of the semester survey with extra credit.
I had her for intro to bio and honestly she's one of my favorite professors this year. She is willing to go into depth and answer your questions after class. Although she doesn't take late work she doesn't even assign as much to a point where u shouldn't be getting it done. Biology is not my favorite subject but she teaches it in a way to help me
TAKE HER FOR CELL PHYS IF YOU CAN! 5 exams (lowest one dropped), 1 quiz a week (open note and 2 attempts), but she does take attendance in class for a grade. Very smart, knows what she's talking about, exams are not bad if you take the time to study but this isn't a super time consuming course. She also offers extra credit!
Dr. Charles is awesome! She's available outside of class and responds to emails very quickly. Her powerpoints contain a lot of information and she also includes relevant textbook pdfs to read. This class had a lot of information but she made it easy to digest. Would definitely recommend her.
I truly don't know why Dr Charles has such low ratings. She's amazing. I had her for A+PI and II and even though I don't have her classes anymore, I still go to her office hours for a chat because she's so sweet. Exams make up the majority of your grade, but she writes the best exam reviews: if you follow those, you WILL pass your exams!
Doctor C is a really good professor!! If you show up take your notes and study ahead of time you'll do good in the class. She does take attendance for a grade but just consider it a free 10%. I will say for some exams there is a lot of material so it's best to study ahead of time because it can be overwhelming to study last minute.
Professor Charles is a fantastic teacher who really helps students grasp the challenging A&P material. Prioritize understanding the lecture slides, complete the quizzes, and use resources like Unstuckstudy to prepare. Expect a lot of work, but the effort pays off.
Good luck! She doesn't test on material you learn in lectures or textbooks. So be prepared to somehow get the correct answer on the test. Oh... and if you are in her accelerated online course don't expect her to teach you. She uploads lectures from other professors.
She was an amazing professor! The course materials were tough, but if you go to lectures and pay attention, it makes it so much easier. If you struggle with any of the concepts at all, reach out to her or go to office hours, and she will help you! She gave me so many tips on how to study, and I will be taking more courses with her in the future!
PowerPoint's are very straight up, no need to read the books as everything on the test will be straight from the PowerPoints and quizzes are also straightforward.
bio1301 first of all she uses other teachers lectures. her class was my last resort or I would have taken it with ida Klang, take her. she's also SO INCONSIDERATE. I know so many of my friends and me with literally an 88 or 89 cuz she wouldn't round it like what. some of them are literally dropping out of college cuz of this class ruining their gpa
took her for summer A&P2. She includes breaks and pauses to answer everyone's questions. She is really helpful whenever you need help and super kind. She wants her students to succeed and understands that this is a difficult class. But, she does go off the slides sometimes, so it's hard to follow, but she takes her time to explain all the info.
Not the easiest to communicate with or the most understanding. I also didn't find the lectures helpful and towards the end of the semester just stopped watching them completely. I recommend making Quizlets from the power point and taking the quizzes over and over, as they are a great tool to study.
I truly don't know why she doesn't have a good reputation on here. She has been the best professor I have had at UTA so far. I took A&PII with her over the summer. I felt super supported and had any questions answered by her.
She was an amazing professor. I never took biology in high school so it was very new to me. She does read off the slides but does explain everything further. Retake her assignment before the exams, those questions will be on the exam!
It's just a stupid invasion of privacy to have a camera flag you for suspicious behavior and being unable to do your literal test for minutes that breaks focus, but also heightens anxiety. Not to mention it is a live person staring at your side view. Take this professor if you like your privacy invaded and enjoy being spied on
I've taken her for two classes now and haven't enjoyed her either times. I have always made decent grades in her class. All the class weight is on your exams basically. Her online class gets confusing with the side camera and proctor. Overall, I just would take someone else.
I've had her for the majority of my science classes, not by choice. I've miraculously been able to get A's, no thanks to her though. If you ever have a problem and email her just know she is strict, and her email responses will contain 0 empathy. If you're able to take another professor, I highly encourage you to do so.
I was forced to take this professor as there were no other options available. Terrible experience. Exams are lockdown browser + extra side camera. There's no reason this class should have 2 cameras during exams, it should have been an easy A. The exams are also nothing like the slides!!! She doesn't give extra credit. Do not take her.
For the first time in my three years at UTA I've scored a B with this professor. I've gotten A's in all my sciences including patho, this professor is probably one of, if not the worst I've taken. Save yourself and take this, what should've been an easy A class, with Ida Klang, if you can! Honorlock is the worst, literally no need for two cameras.
This is my second time having this professor. (A&P II & now Nutrition). Every class is the same format: Do the homework + study the powerpoint and you will get an A. She will never test you on something that isn't on those slides. The side camera for nutrition online is a downside, but I've had no issues with it!
As long as you complete the quizzes, study intricately the lectures weather on echo 360 or in person (highly recommend not missing the lectures) and completing the learning goals and depth it will be impossible to fail. There is no textbook for the class, but that may change in the near future since she is currently writing one.
She is probably one of the best professors I've taken. In any of her classes, all you need to do to get a good grade is show up and pay attention. Her lectures cover almost, if not all, test material and she is always looking for questions. I've taken her for multiple classes and it's the same in all. She is a fantastic professor.
The second and third exam is the hardest. She drops the lowest exam. I was able to bomb the last exam and end with a 90. Please don't rely on Echo360. Go to class. Ask questions. Go through the processes. It's a lotttt of info but she's chill. I do not play about her!!!
This class is hard. As frick. BUT. There is echo360. Her exams, if you actually lock in the material from lecture will set you free. You don't have to use the ebook she gives you. Her lectures are gr8. There is a required cumulative exam you have to take that replaces your lowest grade BUT it will help if you lock in for the third exam.
