I wasn't really sure what to expect when I registered with her because she's a new professor. I've heard this class is really hard, but she teaches in such an engaging and interesting way but I have learned a lot without feeling overwhelmed. She is easily the most supportive teacher I've ever had, and she will only get better the more she teaches.

Professor Davidson is AWESOME. She's unlike any professor I have had which makes a seemingly mundane course like professional communication into a very valuable and fun class. If you put in the work you will get a good grade. If you are struggling she will help you. It's very clear that she wants all her students to succeed. Take this class w her!

If you are committed to your work, you will do good in this class. She genuinely cares about this class and she can tell when you don't. If you aren't going to do the reading, at least skim the key vocab and concluding points of the chapter so you could potentially participate in discussions. This class may seem to be an overload of assignments but these assignments are only difficult if you make them. Everything you participate and learn in during this course you will take out of it.

She is half sprinkled donut with pink frosting, and half knuckle-sandwich to the face while blasting punk rock. Heather was unorthodox and entertaining to say the least. Overall I learned a lot in this class, but she is pretty crazy dude. Get ready for a weird and productive quarter.

I absolutely adore Heather, she is understanding and is very clear in what she wants us to do. She understands the material and gives excellent advice and real life experience. Her attitude is very positive and she makes the learning environment almost perfect. Her class does require you to attend and work for your grade, but it's so worth it.

Heather is an absolute gem of a human being. She expects the best from her students, but makes sure that they are all in a position to get there. I would take so many more classes from her. Her feedback on assignments is always prompt and personal to your needs. Also, she's funny as heck, you will laugh.

Heather is an excellent professor. This class, however, lacked the substance I really wanted it to have. She was often unorganized, but her content was powerful. I would have liked more practical application from the text to her lessons. As a student I prefer very literal lessons- have class discussion about the assignments.

This is a great class. You will learn a lot about advocacy (as one would hope, considering it's in the course title) and will gain skills in video creation, website/blog design, critical thinking involving media, and teamwork communication. Many of the class topics are pretty heavy, so prepare yourself for that.

Professor Davidson is one of the most amazing teachers that I had the opportunity to get to learn from. She makes class interesting and you will actually want to attend class. She cares about every single one of her students and if you have the chance to take a class with her before you graduate, DO IT! You'll be happy you did!

Heather is a wonderful teacher, probably the best at WWU. She is incredibly caring for her students, pretty funny, and loves dad jokes. I highly recommend that you take a class with her, but good luck because the waitlist is insane, like I'm not even kidding, it is so difficult to take a class with her. WWU needs to charish her. Davidson is a great example of a professor who will come down to the students level during a lecture. She tends to talk about touchy subjects and won't sugar coat anything. Expect a lot of work, and expect to always be working. Consider this course a wake-up-call, and treat it as such.

HEATHER is the best professor there is in the COMM department. Her classes are always fun to go to. You will never be bored. There is work but if you manage your time right you can do it! She is very inspirational and will motivate you to be the best student you can be. This class is great!!

As everyone else says, you should take this class. Especially if you want to learn useful skills and get credit for doing things that will help you in real life. Her assignments help better you for your post-college life. She's incredibly funny, caring, and genuine. People should take this so they can understand Dead Poets Society.

TAKE HEATHER DAVIDSON'S CLASSES. ALL. OF. THEM. 318, 306 and 308. Yes, there is lots of group work and yes you will have to work with other people. But the work that you are doing and the community (#WeAreWWU) that you will be a part of is honestly worth every second of your time.

If you're looking for someone unconventional who has a passion for teaching, look no further than Heather. You will need to read the book and be in class, but your class becomes your family. The classes are enjoyable and your group-mates will become your buds. Awesome class and awesome prof!

This class is a lot of busy work but nothing too difficult. Heather works really hard and cares about her students. You get pretty close with your classmates in this class!

She should get a raise, by far the best professor I have ever taken. You do have to work for your grade but it is material that is fun and interesting. WWU is lucky to have her.

Heather really cares about the students and Professional Communication is a great class choice with her. She helps foster the class as a group of colleagues rather than strangers. Be sure to be prepared for a ropes course at the beginning of the quarter!

Heather is super fun and is not afraid to connect on an emotional level with all of her students. Don't hesitate to take Comm 318 (it's relevant to any field that you want to go in to, trust me.) Also prob the only professor that you'll risk running into downtown on a weeknight.

Such a great prof. she really cares about her students. she may brag about herself sometimes, but one of her main points is that we need to brag about ourselves too. definitely plan on taking her classes in the future.

As a non-COMM major, Heather's class was EXTREMELY valuable to me. Seriously, her Syllabus might be a little scary, but she is an absolute delight. This is a class that will stick with me for the rest of my career, and I am grateful for the experience. Take her class seriously: it's important and she won't waste your time.

Heather is one of the best professors that Western has to offer. If you can take her class you should do so; if you can't, you need to find a way. I learned more in this class and also felt the most comfortable in this class than any other at Western so far. Also I even managed to get a job due to her helping me build an amazing resume.

I'm so pleased I took this class my last quarter, but I'm so sad that I didn't take her class sooner! The material was incredibly beneficial and Heather is the most REAL person/professor you'll have teaching a course. Real life experiences are core. Participation and respect are fundamental. Take her class, you won't regret it!

Attending class with Heather is one of a kind! I've been to a lot of schools and worked with many para educators, and it's not everyday you meet someone who cares about your background. When you take a course with her you will learn about yourself and how to be compassionate towards others. Focus on the message and not necessarily the lesson.

By the end of the quarter, Heather was a friend to us all. The first couple classes are a little scary, and she's gonna stress how hard the class is, but if you stick with it, don't drop the class, show up almost every day, and participate, it's really not that difficult.

The content you learn in this class will be used more in the "real world" than anything you learn in any other class. If you are looking for practical skills, then take this class. Heather rocks. Lectures are transparent and personal. Does not skate around issues or tough conversations and treats her students as equals. Grading is clear and feedback is always helpful. Too many breakout rooms for my personal taste but she made them more fun than most classes.

I took this class online after we had been in quarantine a year- YMMV in person. Professor Davidson's strict syllabus that may intimidate before you've attended her class. It will set you up for success professionally. I appreciated that she held standards but accommodated for circumstances. Best course I've taken all year- she'll be missed at WWU.

When first joining Heather's class, I was thinking, "oh man, this professor swears a whole ton and is a bit crazy." After getting to know Heather and her background a little bit better, I understood how authentic and real she was. Her assignments are easy and doable. She is also very motherly and is a mother who protects her flock of children.

Going into this class, I had no idea what to expect. Heather had clear expectations and made the online environment very friendly and easygoing on the first day. The most badass instructor I've had, she keeps things real and points out what may not be accurate about the textbook used because there are many overgeneralizations. She also really cares about the students and helps the students feel prepared for applying for a job
