It's true- she really does think she's hot. She wears different outfits everyday- that's the highlight. There is a lot of work that she never really makes clear, and the lectures are more boring than Stampfl... well, maybe not.
She is a really nice person but her teaching skills are very poor.She rarely grades assignments on time and doesn't explain them well.She posts assignments after they are due, so don't miss class or you won't get credit if they are late.Bad org. skills.

She definitely needs help as far as clarity, and there wasn't too much learning going on in this class. Everyday is definitely a fashion statement with her, but that does not coincide with her teaching at all.. these people above me are jealous..

Really nice teacher. Very helpful when it comes to exams and projects. Didn't learn too much about Internet Marketing in the beginning, but towards the end, things begin to make sense.
She is smart, fair, and nice. The class will make little sense in the beginning but towards the end you will see the whole picture she is trying to paint. Take the class, you won't become an expert in Internet Mktg but it will be fun & pleasant experience

Easy to look at, but annoying voice. Lectures are boring but the class is an easy B. Good choice if you need a marketing elective.
Should be a class to learn a lot in, but by the end I felt cheated. She is nice enough, but so disorganized and fails to mention a 20 pg paper until a week before it's due.

Overwelming assignments. She doesn't care about how many other classes students are taking.
She does NOT listen nor really talk to you unless you have a ****. She smiles and is very attentive when males talk... when females talk, she rolls her eyes. Lots of BUSY WORK. The BATS lab was fun.
one of the most challenging classes i've had. Dr. Honea is a great professor.. although she is a lil unorganized sometimes. I did end up learning a lot from this class... so no regrets
Professor Honea knows a lot about the subject she is teaching, lectures can be long and boring, tests are not too bad, lots of assignments that are tedious but if you do them all you will get a good grade, better then the other teacher who teaches, take her, interesting class!
Her good Looks help to make lecture go by. She is a Fair Grader. I was absent for a Mid Term and still got a B in the class. Be sure 2 do good on final project.

2 exams which aren't too difficult. Just print out review slides right before the exams and study them well. Lots of little assignments which are VERY doable. Plainly said, she's hot. I recommend this class, she is very knowledgeable in the subject.
Interesting class. There are 2 tests and a final group project. She is very nice and helpful but she takes forever to grade...FOREVER!!!
Heather is always more than happy to help you with any questions you have. Study hard for the first two exams and you'll pull B's. The final is pretty easy, just know a little bit about EVERYTHING. One of the best marketing classes I've taken! Highly recommended.
This was a great class. Heather tries to scare you into dropping the class by all the reading. Although there is a book a week the first 5 weeks, the books are not hard to read. Plus she doesn't grade as hard as she claims in her syllabus. Interesting class.
Really knows her stuff. Do the readings, not just for the grade but it will help you understand the trends in the internet. this class helped me get a job!

I had her during her last trimester and she was soooooo pregnant. She always came into class panting and sweating, and then we had 2 other teachers take over 2/3 of the semester cuz she had her baby. No guidelines for project. So you will be blind going into it. But just do what you think is right and youre golden. Midterm is challenging and final is kinda easy.
She was late to every single class, it drove me nuts. She's pretty hott though. The class wasn't terribly difficult, but the multiple choice on the exams was a lot harder than it should have been. The online assignments weren't that bad either. SHE IS THE SLOWEST GRADER IVE HAD IN 4 YEARS OF COLLEGE, ITS RIDIC.
She was late everyday.Goes through powerpoints 2 fast gives no guidelines for final project.She is very nice though.Takes 4ever to get back to emails if she even does, but always willing to see u in office hours.Way into green stuff so do you IMU on anything green u'll get a better grade. You learn Photoshop, dreamweaver and flash. So Take her!!!
Interesting course but majority is theory, not application. Prof is very well versed in the subject but not good about putting concepts together in a logical manner- hard to follow. Not clear about what she expects which makes it hard to get a good grade. 30% participation, 30% final, 40% project. Only given project topic 2 wks before due date.
...worst class ever. I am currently enrolled in this class and I have not learned anything until today. We have no references (book) nor do we get helpful PP slides to understand her lectures. She is always off and talks super fast, which makes it even more difficult to take notes.
Terrible teacher. Lectures are horribly boring and make no sense. Midterm is half multiple choice half essay questions that are unreasonably hard. Her powerpoints contain little to no useful information. I am an A-average student and I am struggling big time in this class and learning nothing. I would HIGHLY discourage taking this class.
Unless you like talking about the philosophical aspects of the internet, DO NOT TAKE HONEA. Do whatever you can to take Berkley. If you get stuck with her, read the articles she assigns and cross your fingers to do ok on the midtern. The final isn't that bad and the projects are ok but you will have to teach yourself.
If you interested in learning about internet marketing.. do not take this class. She talks a lot about the philosophical aspects of the internet and its structure. MAKES YOU TAKE A FINAL AND THEN DO A FINAL GROUP PROJECT DURING FINAL'S WEEK.. (includes 30 page paper and presentation)....
This class is very difficult. Honea is a very intelligent woman, however her teaching style is not for someone new to internet marketing. If you have a background in the course material, you will do well. Avoid this class if you can!
Very kind, helpful and informative
Very passionate about what she does, knows a lot and willing to help anybody. A few in-class presentations, 1 mid-term (essay + multiple choices questions) and 1 final (multiple choices questions).

Just a really ineffective professor. You wont learn anything practical from her, mostly theories without the proper explanation. I agree with the other reviews, she's REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. She wont respond to emails, and just seems out of place as a professor. Avoid if possible

Not pleased with the class at all. Professor honea was late everyday. Showed a lack of interest in teaching. And when she did teach, she failed to hit the mark, and it was always a useless lecture with no real takeaway. Do yourself a favor and don't take her.

You will learn more from her class than any other class. If you don't want to work hard than don't take it. Attend office hours because she is extremely helpful, kind and informative.
Professor Honea is the best professor I have taken so far at State. She is extremely knowledgable about the subject of internet marketing. If you want to actually learn, take her. If you want an easy A, then this class is not for you. Do not pay attention to all of the people saying she is a bad professor. She is a great professor!
Honea was nice but very unorganized. never posted grades, never sure what was going to be covered on exams, more material than you can fit into class so she has to designate half her classes to just keeping up on the videos and reading she wants you to do. Projects are poorly defined. never knew what she expected and how to get a decent grade.
there's a month long marketing brief project. It takes a lot of self motivation to do it but make friends to ask ?'s if ur confused. if you're really stuck she's has office hours. its a hard class but i learned a lot useful information about the future of MKTG. exams are doable if you think outside the box. she's really nice but expects a lot.
I really wanted to like this class, because the subject is useful, but honea really ruined it by being completely unhelpful. Everything I learned, I learned on my own and not because of her. It's really a shame a better teacher is not teaching this class.
Honestly, the class is really demanding and Honea expects a lot from her students. However, Internet marketing is a skill that every marketer must learn today and Honea has soooo much knowledge regarding the area. Honea is incredibly smart and nice, but if you want to do well in her class, you must stop by her office hours to get extra guidance.

Very unorganized. Expect sudden write-ups due any time, meetings and plans not mentioned in the class schedule. Announcements are not clear. Didn't get what I was expecting from it. Too many books which is okay but all the books were so repetitive and all I learned was collaborative consumption. Lectures are very long and don't end on time.

Honea is my least favorite so far. She is somewhat rude to students. There has been many days where she is in a bad mood, and takes it out on the class.
Yes this class wasn't an easy A, but the course subject is so relevant and interesting. Idk why Honea has such a bad rating on here. She is honestly one of my favorite teachers. She is so knowledgable in the subject and is always trying to help you with assignments outside of class time. The only downfall is that she is a bit unorganized.
Professor Honea is not good at the actual teaching portion of her job. She expects more than she gives. I would not take her again if given the option. Everyone is right about her organization deficit, it's genuinely at a level you won't believe.
This is an important class for the marketing field, but does not really deliver. You will end up teaching yourself everything. To give her the benefit of the doubt, she is always available after class/office hours for clarification. The required readings were interesting. Yes, she is very disorganized and you will never get anything back on time.

Took the class online over summer. It was ROUGH. Tests had select all that apply questions with 10+ options.. Final project is a 20pg paper. 40+ articles to read each week. Impossible to study for. Was supposed to be a curve but my grade didn't change. She didn't grade anything till the last day of class so don't plan to know how ur doing in class
Look, a lot of these reviews say she's a terrible professor but I have to disagree. Her material was HARD but she made herself available. She invested time even outside of class for me and listened to me when my personal life was hard and made accommodations. She makes you work for it, but you need to do the work and reach out. Took her SU20 online
I took her class to get complete my MBA credentials on Digital marketing - I learnt nothing - NOTHING!!!! If you think taking this class will help you in your marketing or digital marketing career - Walk away now!!!! Youre better off on learning from YouTube like I did. She did not teach anything about digital marketing ! REFUND!!!!
Took the internship credit class. Very clear structure and easy to follow + get credit. But, she's very difficult to communicate with and the semester is over and 0 assignments have been graded. I spoke to her on zoom once and she seemed very nice. Would recommend for mktg majors needing more elective credits if you're already working
This professor is an idiot, gives out ridiculous, repetitive busy work and does not grade anything until after semester is over. She takes way too long to respond to students' emails. Grade is not based on the success achieved in your internship - based on how well you can follow her vague, and ambiguous, syllabi for her waste-of-time assignments
Gave no rubrics for any assignment, project, or papers. Could not get her to respond to emails in a timely matter. Said she would do things and then never would. She posted our final exam 2 hours later than she was supposed to. Did not explain what she was looking for on any assignments.
Does not reply to emails AT ALL, you're on your own for the entire semester. Insane amount of work for the time provided to work on it. This class was a dumpster fire, nothing was EVER posted on time. There are no guidelines/rubric for projects and no study guide for the quizzes. Lockdown browser on all quizzes but no camera and notes are allowed.
Honea gets a bad rep. Lost of busy work, but ez tbh. Hard to contact her through email, so stay updated with the Canvas calendar & her Zoom sign-ups to meet. Honestly, I procrastinated on the assignments (which have nothing to do with the internship...) during the course, but had a genuine convo with her & she made accom. & gave good career advice.
Took in Summer '25 ASYNCH. Class was a good complement to my summer internship. 12 weeks long. However, I dislike the lack of feedback on assignments and the fact that she graded things at the very last minute. She does provide great advice for the Professional Development Plan, which was very insightful. Overall easy class & impossible to fail.
