she goes step-by-step, i recommend taking her if you have trouble in math because it really helps you. there quizzes and exams but she does expect you to be at class everyday and if you are there you get 10pts added on to your grade. she is awesome

Mrs. Howington is a great teacher. She goes very slow even in her upper math classes.She's more than willing to help her students in any way that she can so that they will be able to pass her class.I recommend anyone to take her class..especially if you aren't very good in the subject of math.

I am NOT a math person, so taking Calculus wasn't exactly my cup of tea, however, this was a pretty good class, considering. She goes step by step and explains everything thoroughly. It is easy to follow, and she makes sure you can understand everything. This was the best math class I have taken.

I did not have a great understanding of math b/f this class. She really helps ALLOT!!! Her tests are very straight forward... She will give you examples of EXACTLY what is going to be on the tests. So if you don't study its your own fault. GREAT TEACHER!!!

great teacher. she tries to cover a section a day so you don't need to miss class unless you are good at math. gives quizes and tests, but quizes only have about 3 problems on them and tests are fairly short. she is good at explaining the material. take her if you suffer in the math department.

She Is the best math teacher I have ever had. She only assigns odd problems for homework bc she does the even ones in class to make sure you know what ur doin. Tests come DIRECTLY from the homework so if you know your homework you will do fine on the tests. Take her for math and you will not regret it.

She allow me to come to her office and get homework/note help and also emailed me back problem answers that I had over the thanksgiving holidays. Shes nice, funny, helpful, sweet, and pretty. For those fearful of math, I recommend her. She wants her students to learn the material and breaks things down for those of us that just don't get it that easily. I think she is an excellent instructor. Her tests cover exactly the material she has gone over. If you run into a problem, she will help you.

She is one of the best teachers I've ever had ANYWHERE. She goes over every type of problem in class that you'll have for homework. Then she takes questions over the homework and works them slowly until there are no more questions. That's when she moves on to new material. I HIGHLY recommend her!

Great teacher! She explains the content thoroughly. She also uses the SMART Board, which is EXTREMELY helpful and allows you to pull up class notes from the internet. Her test arent too hard and A's and B's are very possible.

WONDERFUL, genuinely sweet, and funny! You can easily view all work done in class from home b/c she uses a smart board & saves all work to shared class files. She explains things very easily & makes sure that everyone understands before she moves on. Neat policies: drops lowest 2 quizzes & you begin with 10 extra credit points (-2 per absence).

She's a great professor who really wants you to learn the material. Just make sure you do all your homework and study for tests if you want to pass. Attendance is not mandatory, but she will give you 10 extra points on your final if you have perfect attendance and takes off 2 pts every time you miss her class.

You take notes everyday that's on PowerPoints, but she explains things VERY well. You have 4 tests that if you know the material, you'll do fine, and then a final. Once a week, she will give you 5 minutes to do a homework problem, and take that up for a homework grade. Nice, sweet lady, take her!

She is the SWEETEST lady ever! You take notes everyday, but you can print them off and just fill them in, so it is easy. She explain everything very clear. If you ever need help, she is always available. Her tests are just like the notes and homework, which makes it much easier. I am not great at math but I have an A! If you want an awesome teacher

You get to drop two quiz grades at the end of the semester. You need the textbook to do your homework. Overall, really good teacher!

I received 100% on my first test & a 90% on my second. She gives partial credit. She drops the lowest test grades & is great at explaining things.

Yes, she teachers very well and goes step-by-step but there is one problem.She picks the hardest, most confusing math problems to test you on.The class avg was 60-65 for every test. She can def. teach math but she needs re-do her tests.You would think the failing grades would tell her to re-evaluate her tests but no, she would get upset instead.

Helps so you don't have to write so much. Missed class, notes found right after class on Shared Class Files. I barely used the book. The book is only used for HW.

I am terrible at math and I have never had anything above a C in a math class and I aced this class, it's rather simple, just pay attention in class and do all the homework and you're fine. If you have any problems she is willing to help! She thoroughly explains everything to a T and she even brought the class donuts one day. Highly recommended!

This teacher is the best math teacher! At first, she came off as really hard, but she isn't hard at all!!! She will not go on with class until she is positive everyone understands the material. She lets us work in groups every class, and reviews before every exam (4 total) gives some extra credit and grades attendance. She dresses nice, too!

This is going to sound so cliche', but Heather literally made me believe in my ability to do Math. As a LS student who also receives Disability Services specific to Math, it is safe to say that Math is difficult for me. Heather went above and beyond to help me and I left with a 97 on my final and an A in the class.

She throughly explained on how to do calculus. She gives homework and checks to see you did it but its maybe 10-15 questions of what you did that day. Taught from powerpoint on a smart board uploads everything after class. She gave 3 bonus points on the test for attendance. GIVES PARTIAL CREDIT** She's the greatest teacher Ive had in College.

I took this class online. Her notes were so organized. The tests were always 21 questions long, each question was worth 5 points, but you could omit 1 question. She was very nice and she gave good feedback. I highly recommend taking her class!

I am not good at math... at all. Math is my least favorite subject. Professor Howington does a great job making sure students are given material to be sucessful. She gave our class the option of having blank or filled in notes. We did have homework on mymathlab. The tests were around 20 questions.

I am so so so bad at math and made bad grades on the first tests, but she worked with me and never once put me down for not doing well and continued to encourage me and help me with anything I needed. Favorite college professor I have had thus far. She really cares about her students.

This class was fully online and she made it so much easier than any other online class I have taken. She left a lot of reminders for when things are due. She provided slotted notes and videoed herself teaching based exactly on the notes. She was also easy to reach if you had extra questions and provided extra credit!

If there was ever a close to perfect math teacher, professor Howington would be the one. She genuinely cares if her students pass or fail, and she does whatever she can to help. I gave a 3 for difficulty because I am not strong in math at all. However, math would have been a lot more difficult this semester without her teaching.

Took her short semester summer. She is SUPER caring and nice. She takes the time to check up on you and make sure you're doing okay! The class wasn't too difficult, she is a picky grader so make sure you show ALL your work on tests. Her notes were super organized and lectures were super clear and easy to follow along and understand.

Ms. Howington was undoubtedly my favorite professor this semester. Uses guided notes and they were a lifesaver. 2/3 sets of homework + a check-in per week and the notes help you prepare for all the work + tests. There are not enough good words to say about Dr. Howington. I highly recommended to take one of her course, either online or in-person. Online, there are packets that she provides along with videos and addition resources to help you succeeded. She also uses MymathLab for homework and weekly check-in's. She also responded in a timely manner!

The tests are tough, so studying is key. If you don't understand something, don't be afraid to contact her or to go to the math lab.

Learning calculus with her was so amazing! She truly cares about how her students learn and she is incredibly organized. She provides good examples and her examples are similar to her tests. The only thing that brought my grade down was not completely some of the homework because there was kind of a lot but it was good preparation for tests.
