Very very difficult but not impossible. Is very critical on essays. Even one little mark will bring you down one letter grade with no explaination.

She's not difficult! Her class is actually easy if you do your work, and there's not much. She's not a hard grader. Essays(4), the main thing she looks for is that you understand the concept and style of the paper your writing. Fun class, and she's nice.

Heather is one of the nicest teachers I've ever met. She is someone you'd want as a friend outside the classroom. She never got mad in class, and gets along with all the students. She just always has a cheerful disposition and her classes go by quickly. Just do the assignments, and you'll be fine.

Was the best teacher I have ever had at c.R.C. I have taken her more than once for differnt classes. She is my mentor out side of class. If you do the work or ask for help you should not get less than an A.

Great teacher. If you take her you are guaranteed to learn a lot. She is willing to help those who stick with the difficulties of the class and as long as you try, you are rewarded fairly by the grade. She really tries to reach her students and help them understand the material better. I give her 2 thumbs way up.

She is very nice and the essays and assignments are pretty easy. Although sometimes she can be confusing. You have to ask a lot of questions to understand anything she assigns or says. Overall she is very nice and she gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities. She also takes attendance everyday.

Heather was a great professor to have! She's very kinda and helpful...and as an added bonus, she brings in cookies sometimes..!! ^_^ The essay assignments were rather fun, and in contrast to some other professors, the time you spend on each others essays actually helps!

2nd time taking her. shes not too hard not too easy. id recommend her because she's understanding and easy to talk to. she puts us in groups that we work with all semester. we do essays(like 1 or 2 big ones), some quizzes, online journals, and 2 oral presentations. theyre easy though

Heather is the reason I passed English w/ an A. Long story short I planned on missing the last classes and final because of home issues. After missing one class Heather emailed and was very motivating. She didn't even dock me for having missed watching others present their finals. Former classmate took another class w/ her for fun, wasn't required.

She's the coolest english teacher ever! Her class is pretty easy, we did alot of essays but she guided us throught them so it wasn't hard at all. She let us choose the movie for our movie review essay, that was awesome! She lets you turn stuff in late with a valid excuse. Would definitely recommend taking her.

easy class, few textbook readings and 1 book. suggest you keep up on that. class was really boring. the days we didnt have a test or to turn something in we didnt do much, nothing important anyways. she has too many essys, 7 total i think. and peer edit everyone of them, complete waste of time. no one showed up, and no one reads the comments

Ms.Hutcheson is so nice and funny. She cracks jokes and trys to have a good time but gives quite a handful of work. Its mostly busy work. You write 5 essays throughout the semester and on top of that u have to write these journals every week (but everyone usually does it the night before) and little assignments. Shes cool if your up 4 a fun challen

Heather is great. The assingments are simple, but do require you to have brain. The journals seem daunting, but once you get into them they are actually quite easy. She is always willing to help; even if you cant make the office hours you can still talk to her via e-mail for all the help you need. Overall, she is a great choice for the class!

Excellent teacher. By far my fav English teacher ever. Very kind and humorous. 5-6 essays throughout the semester, fairly easy grader. Journals are once a week, 150 words each ~15mins per week. Pretty light if you ask me. Show and Tell project once. Overall very easy and enjoyable class with Heather, thats why I'm taking ENG302 with her spring09 :)

Great teacher! I'm taking her for English 300 online right now. I was so nervous to take an online english class, but i would advice it for anyone if you are planning to take this teacher. She gives plenty of help and she grades fairly. You do need to do the reading but nothing is impossible to get done in her class. Great techer!

Heather is an amazing professor! I took her Engwr300 class online and it was great. There are essays to write, but she is great at giving you feedback and letting you know what she expects from you. Whenever I emailed her with a question, she always responded within an hour or so. I plan on taking her again for Engwr302.

Heather is a great teacher. A "cheerleader for English", somehow she truly loves the subject, and when someone is passionate about something they can actually teach the material and answer all questions! The assigned reading were usually easy and interesting stories, and class discussions really helped develop writing skills. Take her!!!!

FABULOUS TEACHER!! This teacher is extrememly helpful. During the first two weeks she even made us cupcakes (sweet). I took the on-line class and was very pleased with Heather's responsiveness to questions and her extreme helpfulness. I have taken several on-line classes and most are very unorganized, but Heather is not. She has it together. There is a lot of work, but it's worth it. I didn't expect to learn as much as I did.

Choose her if you want to improve your writing skills. She is the first professor that helped me with my writing. Attendence was required, but class activities were easy.

Before I tell you about the tough assignments let me say, Heather is not a teacher that will leave you hanging or surprise you with anything other than an awesome personality and an upbeat learning environment, yes in english, who knew. Weekly journals (easy), reading quizzes (just read your novel as assigned), essays (tough!). Best advise, make sure you pay your internet bill, everything's turned in online.

Awesome professor! Very helpful, focuses on the process of learning to write and understanding how to write. Willing to help at any time. The only way you fail her class is from lack of trying. If you do the reading and essay assighnments there is no way to do bad in this class. Heather will guide you thru every step. A close mouth will stay hungry

She's good. It was difficult to get the hang of the class in the beginning because she used such different writing techniques, but what's important is that she cares for her students. Not all her methods are on point, but she's a sweetheart. Great attitude and a great helper.

Professor Hutcheson is very helpful. Available for office hours. I loved her online class. You basically write your opinion on a political cartoon every week, you give your opinion on editorials of your choice each week, her essays help you improve your ability to persuade. Cool teacher. Very community service oriented. That's awesome!

Such an amazing professor. Super easy to talk to and extremely approachable. In total there were 6 papers including an in-class final and midterm. She essential gives you everything you need to succeeded. Gives a ton of extra credit, & she has flexible office hours to help you on anything! Somethings gives pop quizzes so beware. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

She is an amazing English professor, by far my favorite. She does collect rough drafts but in the end they only help you with your final draft. 6 essays, including midterm and final. She's really clear with what she wants in the papers and the journals help overall writing skills

She's a great english teacher to have and is funny. There's about 6 papers and weekly journals that you have to do. If you do well on the journals then you don't have to take the final at the end. She's really there for her students and wants everyone to do well. I would most definitely take her again.

I think she is the BEST English Professor at CRC. She gives students good feedback for their papers and makes sure everyone is on right track. If you feel stuck on your papers, try to come to the office hours. If I were you, I would take her for all English classes.

Heather is definitely a fantastic choice for 302. Lectures are lackluster, but she makes it up for it by giving outstanding feedback. Her "there are no strangers, only people we have not yet met" ideology is going to be sticking with me for a long time!

This class is mostly hybrid, but the professor is really helpful if you go to her office hours she will read your essay and make it a stronger essay. She truly wants every student to pass but she can only do so much only downside to this class is that her lectures are pretty boring at times. She offers extra credit throughout the semester.

We wrote 3-4 times a week(blog, short narrative & poem). For an easy A, I would recommend this class for people that love writing. There's group activities and she addressed any concerns/problems, making changes accordingly. I loved the option for our final (recording of our writing) but I don't know if she'll offer it in the future.

She's definitely a professor that cares about her students & their success. The essays were pretty tricky because she wants it done her way so if you mess up somehow, she will give you a 5/150 but allow you a rewrite. Offers extra credit opportunities which saved my grade at the end! Office hours were really helpful since the class was hybrid

She is a nice lady but things do have to be done her way she is very specific on the grading. Overall it isn't hard work it is just a lot, no presentation or hard tests so if writing isn't a problem for you I would say to take her.

I took Professor Hutcheson during the spring 2018 semester and I enjoyed her class so, so much! She gives amazing feedback on your creative writing assignments; which was what I looked forward to the most after each submission! Her grading is very open as long as you follow the instructions given out. I highly recommend her, especially for CW400.

I took Professor Hutcheson's ENGCW400 class online in Fall 2018. This was not only my first online class, but one of my first classes in college in general. I was skeptical of this class at first, but I am very glad to have been proven wrong as the semester continued. She gives solid advice for improvement. Just do your assignments on time. :)

Hutcheson's online class was super easy and fun! I highly recommend her if you're in need of a GE requirement. The class consists of 1 Narrative, 1 Poem, and 1 blog post every week. In addition peer responses to works. She's an easy grader and responds to emails very fast!

She was great. I took her online class and she was wonderful at replying back. She gives reminders to turn in work. Yes, it's an English writing class so there are a lot of writing and journals. But you only write 10 out of 15 journals. She allow rewrites and chances so go ahead and take the time to rewrite for a better grade. very nice prof.

You write journals every week and peer grade at least 2 other people. Quizzes are easy and straight forward. Your journals consist of a prompt and your own writing. Overall, a very easy A. Just put in some effort every night and you'll do fine. She was extremely flexible even when I was late with some assignments. Don't push your luck though lol

Prof Hutcheson made writing fun for me again. We had 5 essays and 10 journal assignments along with a pretty easy final based on vocab we were given the first day. Lots of opportunities to redo assignments and get extra credit. Loved her!

This class has a lot of writing, but it's composition, so... The Professor is very responsive to questions, and is helpful. I took this online during the start of the COVID-19-related remote learning, and she was very accommodating. Reach out if you're behind or need help, and she'll respond. Just do the reading and the work, and ask for feedback.

The whole course is asynchronous, so work at your pace. Hutcheson and her TAs give great feedback that actually detail your strengths and weaknesses in writing. You can tell they want you to succeed in her class. Essays/Journals are geared towards personal growth. If you just answer the prompts and write semi-properly, this will be an easy A.

Ms. Hutcheson was a great teacher. She gives lots of assignments, so be prepared to write. If you do the work according to the directions, and listen to feedback, you'll pass. She wants her students to succeed. There's also no meetings, so you have more freedom to work at your own pace.

Professor Hutcheson was incredible, I really wish all of my teachers were like her. She graded according to the level of the class, instead of the level that she is at. She presented fun activities every week in the form of journals. I have never had that much fun learning anything in my entire life. I am just sad I can only take her class once.

I took Professor Hutcheson's class during Summer 2021. I was a bit nervous to start off with since I suck at English, but she made it such a fun class during Summer 2021. She gives great feedback and is respectful. It wasn't overwhelming and easy to do when you manage your time well. I would recommend 10/10.

I enjoyed this English writing class. There are journals, essays, mini quizzes, also giving feedback to classmates about their drafts. Professor Hutcheson always gives great feed back. She puts out announcements weekly that include extra information about upcoming assignments. Most of the essays and journal prompts are about you as an individual.

Professor Hutcheson gives great feedback and fair critiques on your writing, and you'll do well as long as you show that you are putting your best effort. The workload is doable for 8 weeks: a narrative and poem each week, and you get to peer review other student's writing. But don't take it for granted, this class goes by fast! I already miss it.

She gives excellent feedback and is very understanding! She does assign a lot of work, though, so be prepared for that. Nonetheless, I would love to have her again. :)

Professor Hutcheson is honestly amazing. I took her class, EngWr 301, and was scared it was going to be difficult, I was wrong. Of course involves work and effort to be put in just like any other course. At the end of the semester extra credit is offered which can drastically raise your grade. I truly enjoyed this course. I recommend taking her.

Professor Hutcheson is a professor who will help you improve your writing skills. She always provides plenty of constructive feedback on assignments and follows clear grading criteria. There are plenty of writing assignments, but as long as you manage your time, you will be fine. Keep up the good work and effort and you will succeed in the class.

Prof. Hutcheson is a great person. We would have discussions every 2 weeks, weekly journals of 250 words, and projects similar to essays. They're much more engaging than your regular English class. Be aware that she will leave feedback for improvement on almost all of your work & that she strongly encourages volunteer work. I recommend taking her!
