She is great!! The best teacher that I've ever had. English is not my native language so I usually ask a lot of question and she ALWAYS responded them! I really recomend!! She is really organized, she grades tests, quizzes and paper right away!! She is great!!

I took an online course with Mrs. Johnston last quarter. She was very prompt with emails and extremely helpful in letting us know what to review before tests. I would gladly take another class from her again.

Dr. Johnston is a wonderful teacher. She is so willing for her students to do well. She does make it so that you work for your grade. I took the online course. I would not suggest going this route. Having her teaching it makes a lot more sense then learning it on your own. I'd suggest her to anyone.

Dr. Johnston is my favorite professor thus far. She was very entertaining during lecture and also extremely thorough.

Dr. Johnston is the best professor at CSCC. She is very caring and encouraging, but she isn't "too nice". She is hard on the students that need it and rewards students who do well; her classes get to know each other because she makes you work together - a lot! You should go to her classes; all of her test material comes from class lectures.

Mrs. Johnston is the BEST TEACHER EVER! She is a good person, she know's how to talk to her students and treats all fair. Her lectures a very clear and she tells you what she is testing on and makes sure you know it. I got an A, should be easy! :) Good luck, take her class if you need it. You will be happy

I would recommend anyone to take Dr Johnston's class. Seems to really care about people learning the material. BTW, don't buy the book. I didn't even open it all quarter. Got a B with minimal effort.

I loved her! If you do everything and study for exams, there is no reason to not get an A. She always made it very interesting. Excellent professor.

Great instructor. It's easy to see that she cares about her students and loves her job.

Great teacher. Grades very easy. Do the labs, papers and study for tests and you will end up with a good grade. Does except work late to an extent. Learned that the book has to much material so use her study guides that she gives for her exams.

She really likes what she teaches. She told us if we don't understand something or just want to talk about psych with her she would love to do that. i took this online and still thought the material was easy and the quizzes were pretty easy too. just read the material or at the very least scan through it. exams are departmental so study for them!

It was really short fifty minutes class but it was fun to take class with her. She made it interesting. She has activites everyday in her class and all are based on current topics which will make you think harder about issues going in the world. If you attend her class you get points for it. I will definitely recommend her for this class.

Dr Johnston is an awesome instructor who loves what she does. She's always offering to help and encouraging us to reach out if we have questions. She gives you all the information you need to do well on the tests in her handouts. Would love to take another class with her.

Easy course to take online! Weekly assignments due, but most of them didn't take very long and it was extremely easy to work ahead. Had an issue with a test grading from black board and she was more than willing to find a way to let me receive the points when the system was not working correctly! From he messages she posts, she was very friendly.

Fun fun class. Debates happened a lot, she got you thinking, and Johnston overall is a great and funny person. Its one credit but its a class worth taking if you are doing an Arts or Science degree. Easy A too, 5 points per class if you show up. Take her for ASC if you can.

Professor Johnston cares about every student's experience at CSCC. Quick to respond to emails, and very personable. Grades are turned around quickly after the deadline. This class is laid out very well, and can easily be completed in a few weeks by working ahead - and you will never step foot on campus! Highly recommend her for any online class!

Heather is a real, down to earth person. Best Professor I have had when it comes to attention and how it works in the real world.

I took Psych 1100 and had no real issues. As long as you keep up with the readings, you are likely to get a good grade and Professor Johnston is clear in her expectations. Words of advice, don't buy the book. You won't use it very often if at all.

She provides printable notes, assigns about 1 hour of homework a week (or less), and will discuss topics with you outside of class. Her exams are straight from her notes, albeit there's usually a lot to study. Never opened the textbook for this class, not sure if you would need it in her intro class. Got over 100% with extra credit.

She is an absolutely amazing teacher! She has a great sense of humor and makes class very enjoyable. She is also a very lenient grader. As long as you do the homework and study for the tests you are sure to receive an A!

She is one of the best teachers I've had. Her lectures are great and really funny. She explains concepts clearly. Extra credit questions on each test. Most of what is on the tests is covered in class. Take notes and you should be fine. The only problem was she was too tolerant of a student that kept interrupting. Still overall she's awesome.

Best professor I've had at Columbus state. On top of being a stone cold fox, Dr. Johnston is very very knowledgeable and teaches to the tests. She gives halarious examples to explain everything, and shows very interesting videos. Only complaint is she messed up the dates on syllabus, but she was fair in making it right. Take this class.

I took Cols 1100 online with Professor Johnston. Easiest class. A+ She gives extra credit for the last assignment which is a project about your major. Easiest project every. The quizzes are open notes/videos, all you have to do is submit the assignments on time.

Fantastic professor, she is intelligent and makes class interesting and fun. Hard not to get an A in this class. Don't need the book, tests are off her slides/lectures.

Heather is very nice, funny and entertaining. You can print off the notes. She usually assigns about an hour and a half of homework a week. The exams are multiple choice and then a few short answer questions. She often finds the examples of the disorders in movies.

Oh, she's wonderful. She does a great job explaining things, keeping the class on track, giving examples, and highlighting keys points of the lecture. Well-organized.

She is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. Her class was very straight forward with the max amount of studying done just reviewing notes 10 minutes before. A's for everything. Also, don't get the textbook, you won't need it once. She provides an abundance of resources for her students and is very funny. I never got bored or off track

This class is easy if you take time and study the material. Some material (parts of brain) may be difficult. The only complaint I have is the grade weight, I think tests should be worth more because I received 95-100+(bonus questions on tests!) on tests but missed only 3 textbook assignments, and that sunk my grade to a B

Heather was AWESOME. So much fun and so beyond caring. She makes the class fun and enjoyable. She knows so much about what she is teaching and ask for input on how the class wants to do things which was super cool. Would take her for all of my classes if I could. The first couple of weeks she takes attendance but after that, she didn't much. GREAT!

Someone who's just good at their job. Clear criteria, helpful when things went wrong, reached out a healthy amount. I had her for COLS and PSYCH1100. Solid professor, knows what she's doing.

Makes lectures very interesting with plenty of video examples and real life connections. If you turn in your work and study for exams you're sure to do well. Not excessive with work load or exams.

Wow was her class fun. Professor Johnston was seriously an amazing teacher. Her class was my last of the day and I usually zone out but she was so funny and made class interesting that I always paid attention. Fair professor, easy exams if you listen and take notes, and fun case studies that are easy if you try. One of the best professors.

Easiest class I have taken at CSCC. Her blackboard is super organized. You don't need the text book, just the access card. All homework is through that. Multiple discussion board posts, but easily graded. She responds to emails very quickly. It was a breeze. Study guides for exams gives you all info covered in test.

She's funny and easy to approach, very casual. Class is almost always just lecture/discussion, so you'll be alright if you miss class if you read the chapters. That being said, her class is fun/laid back and presented in a way that makes it make sense in life... unlike the consistently irritating required "smart textbook" that's online.

PSY1100 WEB. 3 exams and final comprehensive exam. She sends emails each week about all due dates. Very lenient in rescheduling exams. Homework through launchpad and discussion boards were easy as long as you complete them by the deadlines. You don't need to buy textbook if you cannot afford. Just access code. Fill out study guides for exams!

PSY2340 WEB. 4 Exams. No comprehensive exam. Took her PSY1100 WEB too. Summer semester has 2 chapters/week for 11 weeks. Kind&funny. Nice video lectures. Gives you all points if you do discussion boards before the last day they're due. 4-5 pages of Final Application Paper during COVID - easy cuz DBs help build up your writing. Don't procrastinate.

Although lots of reading, I LOVE doctor Johnston!! Shes so caring and nice and actually responds to emails. PSY 1100, 3 exams and a final. Exams can be tough just study. Shes such a caring professor, although this will be my only PSY class I would love to take her again. Thank you Doctor Johnston! This class was very manageable. I highly recommen

I study Speech and Hearing at OSU now, but I felt the need to come back and leave this review to say this class was a HUGE help! Dr Johnson's class has me ahead of the game in multiple classes compared to peers at OSU that took this class there. While they're working hard to learn I'm doing review. Not to mention she makes this class interesting!

You can tell she is very passionate about psychology and that is always a plus. Overall not to hard of a course just make sure you do all the weekly work. Hardest part was definitely the exams, they are all at least 75 multiple choice questions.

LOVE HER HUMOR, she understands life happens and will help you get through. she doesn't pressure you at all because she understand you have other classes ..she is just passionate about psychology and she is smooth and easy...if I ever need to take another psychology class she will be the 1st I look for

Dr Johnston made me love psychology. She teaches in such an accessible and entertaining way that exceling in the class is a breeze. Come to class, take notes over the lecture, do the online assignments, and you'll be golden. Her lectures are full of anecdotes to help drive the concepts home and her exam questions come directly from the lecture.

This class covered a lot of content, so that was overwhelming. Many video lectures were too long and went on tangents, and I felt more confused after watching them. I decided to study from the book and use the online quizzes to prepare for exams and received high Bs. The exam questions are very similar to the quiz ones.

This is my second class with Dr. Johnston. She is amazing. She doesn't believe in deadlines and will still give you full credit even if your assignments are late. Take notes directly on her lecture outlines and you'll ace every exam. She's a wonderful human though. She makes me want to major in psych.

My absolute favorite professor at Columbus State! I recommend any class she teaches. Although she truly cares for her students, she is also amazing at teaching and making sure her students understand the material

Easily my favorite teacher I have ever had. She did a wonderful job with the lectures and made the class so enjoyable. She had a lot of great stories to tell to keep the class engaged. Grading is not strict and she allows retakes and resubmissions. Wish she could teach my other classes!

Dr. Johnston was incredible. She is very clear on deadlines. Do the extra credit! You get an extra 15 points for minimal work all about study techniques that are helpful for the exams. The study guides were incredibly helpful, especially since the chapters averaged around 50 pages.

I took Professor Johnston in the autumn, and I had a great time in her class. She makes sure to keep you engaged during lectures and is very understanding. Be prepared for discussion boards, and this class also has a website that helps you with the tests you'll have in this class. I would suggest to take notes.

She's very sweet and accommodating! There are 4 tests in this class. You read a lot and do homework online. If you study, you'll pass this class with no problem. I always looked forward to and enjoyed her lecture. To succeed in this class is to show up, do your homework, and study regularly.

Dr. Johnson was great. She was so understanding. She did a great job at explaining concepts. There were no super strict due dates, as long as everything was turned in by the end of the semester. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Dr. Johnston is a wonderful professor. She is flexible and allows late work without any penalty. However, my only critic is that her exams can be a little tough because of how she words the questions, they might be vague or apply multiple concepts which may cause uncertainty. Overall, she is well-educated in her field and gives great lectures.

I cannot put into words how amazing Dr. Johnston is! She is so supportive and is willing to help you no matter what. I took her Intro into Communication Disorders class and I LOVED it. If wanting to become a SLP or Audiologist take this class! She allows redo's on anything you do not get an A on and you should no matter what end with an A!

Dr. Johnston is such an amazing professor. She has such a radiant, positive energy that makes class so enjoyable. She is very flexible and accommodating when it comes to late work (I wouldn't take advantage of that tho because she's so nice). I really admired how she was often vulnerable with the class and related to a lot of what she was teaching.

Dr. Johnston is a very understanding and nice professor. She was very lenient on due dates if you keep her updated. Her course does have textbook assignments which are pretty easy but sometimes tedious.

Amazing Instructor! I had her online, but her recorded lectures were always great; she made you feel like you were in the class. Highly flexible and always allows redos on homework. There were only two exams, mid/final, and both were online, open note, allowing two attempts for each. This course is straightforward and can be passed with an A.

Very lenient & willing to work with her students! There are weekly textbook quizzes for HW which felt tedious since the exams were only based on her lectures. This did mean I never actually had to read the textbook, which was nice. She's super friendly, funny, and very smart! I loved the volunteering I did and I am glad I took this class!

Great professor! The course is clear and easy to follow. If you do the work and study, you'll pass. Tests match the study guides, and she posts test dates early so you can plan ahead. She's easy to communicate with and genuinely cares about her students' success and learning.

She was truly amazing, and she's also really helpful. If you didn't do your homework, she'll give you a whole week extension to do it and turn it in! She's so easy to talk to, and although her lectures are long and I wanna fall asleep most of the time, she's a really great and caring professor!

She's amazing; she uses her husband as an example so much that I know random facts about him now. The homework may take time, the lectures are heavy, but I never touched the textbook. Do the hw, lookover the slides, go to class, and that's literally it! She's hilarious and so understanding too!
