Professor Leidy is really caring towards her students. She constantly checks in which goes a long way. I turned in an assignment late and she gave me points back for telling her the truth about why it was late. I am beyond grateful. It made my day and really helped my grade. Super straightforward, intelligent and genuine professor.
This class was super easy since everything was online. The assignments are straightforward, the quizzes and tests are open notes. Class was live streamed so you didn't have to attend. There were also multiple extra credit opportunities.
Professor Leidy is great! She really cares that you do well in the class and sends e-mails giving course updates so you don't forget deadlines. She really listens to feedback and adjusts the course accordingly. This class was awesome and I feel like I learned so much! The lectures are always applicable to real life, so it makes it interesting!
Great class, great professor, highly highly recommend if you're looking for an easier yet interesting science course
Not too difficult of a class, Professor Leidy is very helpful and accessible as well which was very nice.
Nutrition (NTR 306) was a very boring course for me, but the professors did well at telling us exactly what they expected to get an A+. It's very manageable if you do all your work.
literally the easiest class i have ever taken at UT and im on my last year. they gave a ton of extra credit and everything was open note so there was truly no reason to make anything less than an A. both professors were so sweet and made class interesting and easy to understand. literally 10/10 class
Profesor Leidy is a very caring and nice professor. Quizzes are the main thing, so study with ppt slides. Dont really need the textbook, but good for more detailed info. A very great choice for a science credit!
Leidy is awesome! Shes loves what she teaches. This class was not bad but definitely not easy. You have to put in the time to get an A for the class. Especially the quizzes because they can be difficult. Only thing I didnt like was the all due dates are crammed at the end of the semester
Excellent teacher and fantastic course. Do your work, and youll pass; nothing else to say except that I had a wonderful time taking this course
She is super sweet and passionate about nutrition. Her class was easy to take. However, the speed was too fast. I learned a lot from reviewing before the midterm and final. She was also super understanding and accommodated for an online format. Overall a lot of information to take it and it is not a challenging science class.
Dr. Leidy was excellent. NTR 306 was not very challenging if you have a science background, and even without, it's definitely not super difficult to catch on! Reading the textbook and typing lecture notes (since open note) led me to success on quizzes (straightforward)/exams (application), but I know many who did not read & still did just as well.
Take this class!! There is a good amount of work and you have to keep up with the lectures for the quizzes but the material is not too hard to understand and very interesting too! (coming from a non-science background).
It's a great science class for non-science majors. Dr. Leidy was nice and she answers questions in the discussion section, which is really helpful. You should watch the lectures to be able to do good on quizzes and exams, but both of them are open books.
I did not go to the live lectures very often and I was still able to get an A. There are a few projects and papers, which can be time-consuming, but they are actually pretty interesting! There are CFU's (quizzes) about every week but they are normally pretty easy. I would definitely recommend this class if you're looking for an easy science!
Super easy class. The workload is heavy at times, but it's not difficult, the workload is more tedious if anything. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. The projects in the class can be fun. Her lectures are also really interesting, as I think she's the better lecturer between her and the other professor teaching with her. Easy science credit.
Professor Leidy is great and easily accessible. Grading and content is pretty straightforward with plenty of extra credit opportunities.
Ntr306 with Dr. Leidy was great. I did not attend live lectures and passed with an A. Overall very easy class 100% recommend.
Dr. Leidy was pretty cool. Clearly knows what she's talking about and has a lot of personal experience. Lectures can be watched asynchronously, but you'll honestly do fine if you don't even watch them. Class is pretty interesting but a little slow to sit through since it's online. Definitely an easy A. Taught with Prof. Michele Hockett-Cooper.
I recommend this class to everyone I know. Easiest and most laid back science by far!! All the information for tests and quizzes can be found in the powerpoint they provide. Because of this, I didn't attend but the four debate lectures we wrote 1 page papers on. Everything in this class is open-note and teachers give reviews for tests. Take it!
Very cool that she used to be a body builder and is on the board for the department of nutrition, is very engaged with what she is teaching and a trusted resource. As long as you watch the lectures and pay attention, you can understand the content without the textbook. I love that tests and quizzes are open note! Class slides have everything.
NTR306 was such a great class to take, I took it for my final science credit after countless recommendations from friends and it did not disappoint. Attendance is not necessary and all the grading criteria is extremely clear and with tons of examples, just stay up to date and complete things and I guarantee you will get an A.
I really liked her, you could tell that she was really passionate about teaching. The lectures were easy to understand and as long as you watch them and look at the slides you will be fine with the quizzes and assignments. She is also really good at keeping you up to date and getting back to you when you have questions.
Take NTR, the easiest science class there is and you can learn some pretty valuable insights about your own life.
Loved this online course! All assignments are open note & there's 2 small projects.
Professor Leidy was very sweet and caring! The class itself is fairly simple. If you do the work, it is an easy A. There are weekly quizzes, 2 projects, a midterm, and a final, and everything is open note! The material in the lectures could feel excessive at times, but overall, this is an easy science credit with interesting material.
Great Professor! Super easy class, with lots of extra credit offered throughout the course and especially at the end. Didn't go to class for like the last couple of weeks and still made an A in the course because it's just that easy.
easiest class at UT, if you need a science credit take this class!
You can easily never join the class and just use the slides and quizlet for weekly quizzes. Professors and TAs can be extremely rude however about any sort of mistake in turning in assignments, and will make no exceptions whatsoever. Class is a joke but the profs take it way too serious
Great science credit. Quiz (20 questions) almost every week but it's open notes and comes straight from lecture slides. One major project. 3 reflections. Alot of extra credit. Def take this class.
Professor is very rude when asking for feedback or clarification. TAs tedious grading is very not merciful. Points off for minor to irrelevant mistakes. I would recommend having GOOD communication with both the TA and Professor Leidy to get your questions answered and issues resolved.
Taught with Dr Lashinger- both are obv very knowledgeable and do Q&As throughout class. 1 weekly quiz, 4 debate assignments, 1 project, midterm & final. I never read the textbook & attended about 65% of lectures. Light workload but sometimes info got very in-depth and complicated to me as a non-science major. Several opportunities for bonus points.
This class is a really easy A. Everything is open-note, and they even have bonus point opportunities. I spent only 30 min/week outside of lectures on this class. The debate reflections and the dietary analysis project are pretty easy. I would just recommend to start the dietary analysis project early.
Best science credit to take at UT. Straightforward grading guidelines laid out at beginning of the year. Extra credit opportunities. Simple open note online quizzes. Took helpful dietary knowledge from the class to apply in my life. Dietary analysis project very interesting. Take this class if you want an A
This class was the most boring class I have ever taken. Attending lecture felt like pulling teeth at times. However, I learned some basic nutrition stuff and Dr. Leidy is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable. I would recommend ANT 301 with Shapiro over this class for science credit because its easier and more interesting. It's an easy A, but at what cost?
Very easy A in a science credit class! The lectures are boring and at times complicated, but the professors are very knowledgeable and all the assignments are open-note and straightforward. The class is made up of weekly quizzes, 4 debate reflections, a project, midterm, and final, as well as bonus point opportunities.
Dr. Leidy is great! She taught NTR306 online with Dr. Lashinger and I have to say it was one of the easiest courses I've ever taken, while simultaneously being really interesting. There's SO MUCH extra credit and attendance is not mandatory. Take this class if you need a science credit.
This is a super easy science credit. Both professors for Nutrition are very caring and smart. Lectures are recorded and the Google slides make it very easy to do the weekly quizzes. Highly recommended.
Prof is very passionate and knowledgeable on what she lectures. It's a shame that lectures were online because this is a class I would look forward to going to if it was in person. Really hard to not get an A on assignments unless you straight up ignore the rubric. Only issue is that CFU's were worded confusingly- made it hard to get 100s on them.
Easy class! There's a textbook, but reading it isn't required to pass. There are various opportunities for extra credit, and all lectures are posted on Canvas. Dr. Leidy was very helpful and answered questions on discussion boards in a timely manner. I definitely recommend this class for non-STEM majors looking to fulfil a science requirement.
Taking this class with Dr. Leidy was such a joy! She was so articulate in simplifying complex concepts and was always open to answering any question thrown her way. The class structure is simple, and so were the assignments attached with it. I especially loved the debates we had in class!
Dr. Leidy is very knowledgeable, which made every lecture very informational and insightful. The class is relatively easy, assuming you complete every assignment with diligence. Dr. Leidy was very responsive on discussion boards for any questions about assignments or topics. This is a great class to take to fulfill a core science requirement!
This was one of the easiest classes ever: lectures are optional, and all the quizzes are open notes and straight from the lecture slides that she posts. Exams are also open notes; however, it is advised to at least look through the notes prior to starting the exams as it is a time crunch to flip through all the slides during the exam.
There was one project that took a few hours and that was the most work done all semester.
Overall, very easy and interesting course. Dr Leidy is clearly very knowledgeable about the topic. Only warning is she does emphasize the use of My Fitness Pal and one of the projects is to track your food so beware if you have any sensitivities surrounding calorie tracking.
Overall super easy class if you need an interesting elective. Learned a ton about nutrition, however the course does a dietary analysis project using a food tracker so beware if there are sensitivities around that.
Just do the attendance and you'll get an A. All the answers to the quizzes are on the slides.
NTR 306 was an easy online elective course. The only real effort needed in the class is on the one big project and both the final and midterm exam. Attendance is required. I recommend this class for anyone in need of a science credit.
Overall, well set up and enjoyable class. It's easy to make an A if you do all of the assignments and participate in lecture/do the instapolls. Both professors taught well and answered most questions.
Very easy A. You do however actually have to show up to the online lectures because a huge part of your grade is determined by instapolls.
Very knowledgeable in her field and cares more about getting her message across than making the class extremely difficult which is nice. Easy A if you want a science credit as long as you show up to the lectures for instapolls which are graded by completion.
I did NOT enjoy this class, but it was very easy for a science. If you have food issues at all, please stray. There is a dietary tracking project that is mandatory (though you can choose to track someone else.) REQUIRED instapolls randomly. All slides posted before class, so I really just used those and didn't pay attention and did just fine.
this was one of my easier classes. graded by a lot of things, but everything is open note. there are instapolls in the lectures that count for your participation. there's extra credit opportunities. 2 tests and one project are most of the grade
Easiest A of all time.
This course is fairly easy - I could have gotten an A but I honestly did not study enough (that's on me). The grading guideline is very clear, and Prof. Leidy is very accessible and approachable! Attendance is graded by InstaPolls. The exams are not weighted as much as most courses, so just do your assignments and you will be fine. :)
Dr. Leidy did a really great job in this class with more than 2000 students in the class. While the lectures can be challenging, she actually does a great job of keeping it engaging and interesting for students despite it being online unlike Dr. Lashinger, who co-taught this course. Overall, the course is easy, and finish the diet plan early on.
I thought the class was pretty easy. Only hard parts is the midterm and final, but it's open note for the most part.
Good lectures.
if you struggle with eating issues be very weary of this course. it's a very easy class, with open-note exams and only a handful of assignments, but at times the professors could be a little insensitive about eating disorders. if that's not an issue for you, it's an easy science credit to get out of the way.
I am a big fan of Dr. Leidy, she is really good at articulating the lecture content so that students understand it. Another thing, you are allowed to use your notes on the quizzes, which is really helpful bc its a huge incentive to take thorough notes. Would definitely take this class again.
Prof. Leidy is a great lecturer! The class only has a project, quizzes, a midterm, some easy reflections, and a final that are all open note! Just review the heavier lectures beforehand. Def knows her stuff (I think she's slightly better than Prof. Cooper, so I'd ask Leidy any questions). But both were really nice, and class was easy!
Prof. Leidy was a good professor and overall the course was pretty easy with a few projects, weekly knowledge checks, and multiple debate discussions. This class can drag a bit and it is hard to stay engaged but overall a really easy course if youre just looking for credit.
Some of the homework had really quick turn around times (open TH and due F), the midterms and tests are a bit difficult, but in general the class is good, and if you enjoy online lectures, this is a good option! The class can make you very aware of your diet habits :,) and the teachers provide a lot of resources to help you succeed.
Highly recommend taking this class for one of your general science requirements!!! People complain that it's a hard class...but it really isn't as long as you keep up with the work and pay attention most of the time. There is a final project that is kind of a lot, but just start working on it earlier rather than waiting until the last minute.
This is a very easy class, and I highly recommend getting your science credit through this course. I ended up barely paying attention, then using the slides to answer all the questions on the assignments and exams since it's open note. I still feel like I learned some valuable things through this course relating to nutritional health, though.
While this class seemed like a lot at first, it genuinely wasn't bad and Professor was super kind. Super helpful during office hours. Assignments are really easy as well. Everything is open note so as long you pay attention and take notes, you should pass.
Just like every other review this class is super easy! perfect science credit class. It seems like a lot at first but everything is open note, and the project is in parts and they guide you through it. I learned some really neat things. The way the lectures are filmed is cool!
Professors are nice enough, issue is the lectures are boring and it's easy to get distracted. Attendance is mandatory. Assignments and tests are open note, biggest problem is the CFUs have a fast turn around for submission (assigned thursday, due friday) and late points will knock you down.
Great class, learned a lot about nutrition and the human body. Assignments were pretty straightforward and graded leniently. Professor Leidy and Cooper explained the content well and made it easy to understand for someone who isn't a STEM major.
Paying attention to the lectures will help you a lot towards the end of the semester
Nutrition was super fun and easy. I actually use a good chunk of what I learn outside of class as well. If you happen to be taking biochem (BCH369) concurrently, you'll be learning about a good chunk of the same stuff at the same time. Pretty helpful.
The class is easy. The hardest part is the midterm, second to part two of the diet project, but I still got an A on both. Don't sweat it at all, but don't blow it off completely either. Dr. Leidy is a kind lady and extremely knowledgeable.
Dr. Leidy is a great professor! I highly recommend taking online nutrition to fulfill one of your science credits. The exams are easy and open-note. Plus, I learned some relevant nutrition information. Overall, Dr. Leidy has a great personality, and she makes an online science class fun!
Easiest class I have ever taken and probably will ever take. If you need to take a science credit, take this course! Super light workload and online so you do have to attend for instapolls, but definitely a super easy science credit. Highly recommend.
You have to try to fail this class. Lectures are mandatory because of instapolls, but it's a very easy class to take if you need a science credit. Exams aren't hard and the dietary project is more time consuming than anything. Very easy class definitely recommend.
As long as you attend lectures, you'll do great. Probably the easiest course at UT that you can take.
Online nutrition was a breeze. Very lenient grading and the assignments are not hard at all. The online lectures are interesting and almost formatted like a TV show. The content is super relevant and has me more mindful of my nutrition. I heavily recommend this class for those who are looking for an easy science credit.
Definitely take this class if you can, it's the easiest I've ever taken. Class is necessary to attend because of instapolls, but you really don't even have to pay attention. Just do good on the online weekly quizzes and you should at least get a B.
Interesting class. Extremely easy. Would recommend. Everything is online/open-note (including exams). Semester project is easy and also very applicable to daily life.
very nice-- in terms of difficulty: cfus are harder than the final and the final is harder than the midterm. study here and there and you should easily get an A
Potentially the easiest class at this university. Great option for non-science majors. Everything is open note; just attend the lectures and you'll do fine.
Prof Leidy is a good lecturer and the class is perfect for those who need an easy science credit. Everything is open note from quizzes to exams. The only negative about this class is that because its both online and some of the material isn't the most engaging you can get distracted very easily during it.
TAKE THIS CLASS. This class is definitely a GPA booster and is VERY easy! The grade is made up of 1 project (3 parts), short quizzes due every Friday, 3 open ended quizzes (opinionated), attendance, and 2 exams SOOOO EASY! Take this for either science credit or a GPA boost!! I cant stress this enough take this class.
dr. leidy is a good prof, i took nutrition online with her and it was super easy, lots of instapolls that count for your grade, not graded on accuracy but you gotta tune in to answer, a couple of projects and weekly quizzes, 2-3 exams, and no papers! it was a very easy and doable class
This class was informative and super easy! I went to the in person recording studio regulary and it was cool but definetly not necessary if you dont have the time.
Dr Leidy and her co-professor were amazing, the class overall was easy and not hard to get an A. Theres no need to buy the book since all the exams and project material is over the lectures. They do multiple instapolls during the lecture so being alert and participating is needed. Overall learned a lot!
Good professor. This class is pretty easy. You can use notes and slides on quizes/tests.
This class was easy overall. There was a lot of information in the lectures, but the exams and homework are all open book/open note. There is one project that you submit multiple parts for, but it was easy. Sometimes this class was boring, sometimes interesting. But overall, a great experience!
This is an awesome class I loved it.
Class brought back an old eating disorder full swing. Classmates with no ED history developed eating issues during the class. We constantly discussed how being overweight was harmful to your health (with no distinction made between being overweight and being obese), but did not discuss the harms of eating disorders or being underweight at all. 0/10
Prof. Leidy is super knowledgable and is a great lecturer. I really enjoyed this class because it's super applicable and easy. Only 1 weekly assignment, 1 project (broken into 3 parts) and 2 tests. Go to the lectures because there are instapolls and chats but they're completion grades. Definitely take this class for an easy science credit.
Super easy class. Take it for a science credit. Tests were easier than the quizzes, which were easy to begin with. Instapolls were annoying but easy to keep up with if you actually attended lecture. The DAP project was tedious, but very easy. Didn't actively listen to a single lecture and got a high A. Super light.
Super helpful! Was a pretty easy class, but if you ever had any questions she was always accessible outside of class.
Very interactive professor and tries to cover topics that are related to current day events/issues and she is very helpful when it comes to answering questions that students have. The midterm and final are open note!! My only complaint is that I wish that I was enrolled in an in person class/I wish more in person classes were offered.
Overall a really good course. She teaches with Michele Hockett-Cooper and they're very engaging and good together. This class is super interesting and is easy to get an A as long as you pay attention and use the resources they provide. Every assignment is open note as well, including both the midterm and final.
Easy class! Just pay attention and write notes, every assignment and test are open note. Very clear on expectations. Can come off as a know-it-all or I know better than you type of person and mentions her age a lot, but sometimes it does relate to the topic.
easiest science credit. everything is open note, you actually have to try to get less than an A in this class.
NTR306 was fun and interesting! Open note, would recommend!
This class is very easy. There's a textbook, but I never used it. All of the assignments are open note, including the midterm and final.
I LOVED this class with Heather and Michele Hockett Cooper! Both professors are AMAZING and made the material so easy to comprehend. It was a live stream course but I chose to attend in-studio, which was fun (helps if you struggle w/ online learning). I didn't expect to actually like the course - but considered switching my major to Nutrition!
Very easy science credit. I would literally have the lecture playing in the background and just listen for the instapolls/chats. There are only 2 tests and one project that's really easy to do.
Girl, I'm being so fr. TAKE THIS CLASS FOR A SCIENCE CREDIT. I'm a film student and want NOTHING to do with STEM courses, but this one was interesting, the professors were engaging and hilarious. Course was easy.
Literally complete the participation instapolls during the lectures, and do the few assignemnts they give. Very funny professors who clearly care about their students. Not a ton of work.
One of the easiest most enjoyable science classes I've taken so far. Would wake up and play the lectures just listening and waiting for the instapolls and chats while making food or washing up. Tests weren't difficult and I already track my food everyday so the project relating to that was a breeze, I even switched to using the app they had us use.
Great class, super easy. Attendances are taken with instapolls. light work.
One of the easiest and fun classes I've ever taken. If you're looking for an easy class to fill up your schedule, I recommend this one!! You will thank me.
Simple assignments, everything is open note and open lecture. They genuinely care about the class, and it's something you can apply to your life. They're genuine people/moms and very relatable. They crack jokes and have fun teaching, which makes you want to pay attention.
Super easy class. Attendance mandatory through instapolls and class chats. Everything open note. Weekly check for understandings and only 2 exams with a week to complete. Really nice professor.
This class is a free A and is super interesting. The coursework is very light and straightforward if you pay attention to the lectures and keep up with the homework. All of the exams and quizzes are open notes which is not only helpful for your grade but in my opinion helped me learn the content better. Professors are nice and TA's are responsive!
This was a very easy class. Professors are funny and nice so lectures weren't bad to sit through. My TA was great too and always graded my assignments quickly.
This is one of the best courses I have taken here at UT! Take this class if you get the chance, it is not hard! It was great learning about Nutrition, and the way it is taught is so engaging and fun! Even if you get the online class, you'll be able to find a great study group to make friends with and learn together!
LOVED this class! Super interesting and applicable; I feel that the quizzes and tests were very straightforward. My TA graded very quickly as well. There is minimal homework for this class, and the semester project was fun to do. Definitely take this class!!
Good professors, good class, easy A. TA's grade a little slow but this is understandable given the size of the class. Tests are relatively easy. Overall take this class for sure.
Amazing and great teacher to take nutrition with. Literally could not have asked for a better science credit to take. I learned a lot about my eating habits and have actually used the information I learned. This class is an easy A if you give decent effort, and the projects are very fun to do and light work! would recommend 1000 times over!
I ended with a 92.49 in the class. They refused my doctor's note and showed no empathy for an extreme family emergency that caused me to miss class. They wouldn't bump me even though I demonstrated probable cause.
Easy and somewhat interesting class.
Took NTR 306 online with Leidy and Hockett Cooper. Super easy class, completely open note but attendance is kinda annoying because you need to attend the entire class - there are multiple “checkpoints” but they take one at random so even if you're late 5 min you might be marked absent entirely. Not bad at all though for a science.
Online (nutrition) class with attendance checkpoints, around 5 open-note exams and one 3-part project. Much of the information is useful in your daily life; overall a chill class.
