This woman is a great teacher and makes class fun each morning.Always upbeat and positive, never too strict.her assingments allow thinking outside the box which provides deeper learning.She is a great asset to the education department and she definitely deserves a "gold star" for the day!

Outstanding Teacher!!! Take any class she offers, you'll love it. Only one student out of about 30 dropped the class... pretty unusual for a GCC class! I wish she taught Accounting and Macro-Economics!

This is one of the best professors we have on campus. She explains things by comparing them to real life experiences. If you hate reading your text, you will never need to if you take a couple of notes. She is understanding and takes attendance but doesn't let it determine your grade. Overall, she is amazing. You will never be bored in this class

I wish I could take her for every EDU class. She made me really enjoy learning about diversity. She does fun activities and has a passion for teaching. What I liked best was even her lectures never felt like a lecture. You may never use your book if you take good notes and participation in discussions is required.

This is a teacher's teacher. She always went above and beyond. Very easy on due dates and always willing to help. The only reason I didn't like her class was because there was one student that 1, didn't shut up and 2, thought he was always the right answer. Heather did an awesome job teaching over him. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

Wonderful teacher

This was my first online class that I took and it was great! You had untill Sunday @ 12pm to get your tests in, but you could move on and work ahead. I was very hesitant about doing an online course and she made it very understandable and easy to use! She was on top of her e-mails everytime I needed her. This class was very FUN! Lots of learning!

I've never had such an amazing teacher! She not only is passionate about her job but has a great personality. This was my favorite class and never missed a day. I am definitely taking more classes with her! I did not fine the class difficult, she made it very inertesting therefore I was excited to learn and be there. Take this class!

Best teacher I've ever had! Very passionate about what she does. Mostly powerpoints, but most days we begin with an activity. I got an A without the book, although it might have been useful. Not a tough grader; as long as you follow ALL directions and she can tell you care, you'll be fine. Very interesting class, especially for future teachers.

I am so incredibly happy I chose this as a last resort honors. I am a business major and took this class simply for honors and cultural credit. One of the best classes I have ever taken. I don't care what you're studying, everyone needs a class like this. Wonderful, intelligent, caring, entertaining teacher. This class was so much fun and useful.

SO NICE! Doesn't deduct for late work but that doesn't mean you should turn in everything late. As long as you pay attention in class you'll pass all the tests. She makes class interesting with group assignments. The only thing is you take the quiz before you go over the subject so make sure to use the textbook.

Mrs. Merrill is inspirational! I thoroughly enjoyed her and her class. I feel very empowered by what I learned in her class. She is very knowledgeable, helpful and fun. We had a lot of fun and interesting group activities. I can't wait to take another one of her classes.

There was only about 3 quizzes and the final was considered extra credit! The easiest class I have ever taken and I loved it! Very easy grader, very inspirational! Best teacher ever and I have many more classes with her! The portfolio is a huge part of your grade so as long as you do your work during the semester, you will be fine.

Merrill is definitely in the running for best teacher I've ever had, she just has this presence that makes you want t listen. She makes things easily understandable, she lectures beautifully, and the text-book is definitely worth reading. I took her hybrid class, she held optional classes during the online portion, even if only one person showed.

One of the best teachers I have had. She is very much into education and keeps the class interesting the entire time! Very energetic more instructors should be like this, I know a few other teachers that have the same classes and do not teach it as well.

One of the most passionate and caring professors I have had at GCC. She shares inspirational insight while hearing the voices of her students. This course is the most enjoyable and easiest-to-pass honors courses I have taken. There are no tests, just online homework assignments and class discussion with a creative honors project.

It was an easy class. She gives out lots of opportunities for assignments and projects. Very lenient. She seemed really cool, strong opinionated though but you can tell she really cares about what she teaches.

Merrill was a great teacher online. She moves slightly quickly in class, making it difficult to keep up with annotation.

Super sweet, cares about her students. I took this hybrid (attend in person, but do assignments online). Attendance wasn't mandatory, but if we did go we just worked on the homework together while she showed videos and lectured to enhance the material. The book is cheap, like $10ish, but she said you should keep it if you're going to be a teacher.

I just loved her! Her feedback on all my assignments were always so kind and motivational! Her assignments are easy to understand, not too time consuming and fun to do! I had turned in a few assigning late and she still gave me full credit which was a blessing! Would love to take a course by her again.

Merrill is fantastic, you can tell she has a true passion for teaching. Her class was easy and very informative, she was also great at giving feedback and answering any questions regarding becoming a teacher and the EDU courses as a whole.

I loved being in professor Merill's class simply because I can relate to her as an individual. I liked how she always made learning fun for the student's and she really helped me when I was struggling with some of the material. 10/10 recommend for those students who want to become teachers. She's super nice, and you're gonna love her! :)

Wonderful woman. I felt safe and welcome in her class and she is willing to work with students. I learned a lot. Her late policy also saved me (she only took 2% of for each day late).
