She is passionate about Chemistry but does not know how to teach, She is easily frustrated and condescending with students who ask too many questions, She said the text book is trash and not to buy it but I noticed that all her examples are from the book Buy it anyway so you can teach yourself, No study guide/reviews,Tests aren't multiple choice.

She is very intimidating and an awful professor. Instead of teaching and trying to help her students understand she would belittle you and make you feel that you were incapable of doing the work. For any student who wants a teacher who cares about you actually understanding the subject & actually wants to help you learn please avoid this teacher!!

Worst teacher I've had. Homework is assigned every class and you HAVE TO DO IT because she gives you a quiz EVERY CLASS, you have the first 10 minutes of every class to finish the quiz , which is how she also takes attendance. Her study guides suck, might as well not uses them. Exams are 60% of your grade so you've been warned. FYI no extra credit

Stay away!! She knows her stuff, but she also assumes that's everyone does too. To me that's the worst kind of professor. I hated when I didn't understand something and had to ask for clarification, she's so rude! Hard work does NOT pay off in her class. Her tests had some things she didn't even mention in class and her study guides are garbage.

Mrs. Michael seems nice at first but its all an act, she doesn't care for her students. she shows you an example of what will be on the HW and or the next quiz but she gives about 2 or even 1 example and expects you know know it right after, no matter how many times I went to the ASC LAB or her test review I failed every test. Oh and no Extracredit

If there's a few things I have learned from taking Dr. Michaels' class, it's that she likes to make her students feel like incompetent idiots and is not at all a nice teacher. Her study guides are completely irrelevant to her tests and gives a quiz for every class. If you want a professor that is considerate and helpful, find another professor.

Professor Michaels is not very good at delivering concepts proficiently. You waste two hours sitting in her class not retaining any information. Ive learned more from YouTube lol. She doesn't answer emails, doesn't help students who are struggling and gives rude remarks when it comes to the classes poor grade performance. Take someone else.

The homework she gives out is taken up for a grade which is ridiculous because homework should be used as a learning tool not something that will effect your grade. Her exams are extremely hard and do not match the study guide at all. Do not take her for chemistry because you will not get a good grade!

This professor should look into a different career other than being a teacher. She isn't good at teaching as she "assumes" everyone should "know" certain things she's barely taught. She spends too much time elaborating on non-important aspects (sig figs, units of measurements) and not enough time on the hard stuff (solubility rules, acids, etc.).

She takes her attendance using quizzes during the first 10 minutes of each class. Her quizzes come directly from the homework which took me hours to do. I had her for organic chem and she gave an exam on the second day of class with the class average being 58. Dont take her unless you have a strong background in chemistry.

She knows her stuff she has a PhD but because of that she expects you to know just as much as her she is really condescending & rude if you dont understand something expect her to make a face at you & have a smart comment half of the time she wouldnt answer my question just get mad that I didnt ask DONT TAKE HER HORRIBLE TEACHER.

Very condescending to say the least. was a flipped classroom so lectures were done at home and class period was used for worksheets and questions, but she'll mostly just say "that was in the lesson" and roll her eyes. If you know chem and don't need to ask questions you'll be fine, easy class.

Take anybody BUT her for chemistry. She doesnt teach she just hands out a worksheet every class and doesnt review it, if you ask a question she tries to talk down on you as if its not normal to not understand everything right away . Dont waste your time take somebody else the reviews are TRUE .

She expects you to know everything. Sometimes without even going over something. Her class is confusing and its a pain. Especially when she has quizzes every class. Her class is designed to make you work especially out of the classroom. Even in lab she makes it difficult.

With COVID-19 our lab class switched online. I had her for Orgo lab 1 but NOT for Orgo lab 2. Somehow she is taking over my class now, all I can say is i did NOT sign up for her again for a reason. Her attitude towards students is very sour. She speaks to us as if we are all dumb. Her tests and work load are too difficult for a 1 credit course.

Nobody can pay me enough to take another course with her. She looks down on students and expects us to know everything, even when she does not teach everything or give us study guides. Never responds to emails. Homework takes hours to get a passing grade. Tests are extremely difficult. She couldnt care less about you, this class will be your doom.

very rude and doesn't respond to emails if she does she's rude about it. struggled with her class because she gave quizzes & tests that had nothing to do with the lessons. for the final she literally said it would be based off the NLN test not what she taught at all. she takes forever to grade assignments and doesn't explain your grade when you ask

I have never struggled in a class more than I have with one. This whole teach yourself at home and do hw in class did not help me. The modules are very difficult. Our final is based on an NLN exam, mind you we are just CHM1020. That is an intro level class. On top of that, we have to make a youtube video explaining a lesson done weeks ago.

This is the most terrible professor I have ever had. Shes rude and loves to blame others for HER mistakes. Definitely a waste of time and money. Her homeworks s are wayy harder than the actual lecture and her tests are even harder. Her course doesnt make sense at all. This has been one of my hardest classes. I was supplementing what I learned from modules with YouTube videos to help explain some of the material. I went into tests not confident if I would do well even after trying my best to study.

Heather makes you feel less than, if you have a question she will respond with; "you should be able to answer that with the information provided" with no information on how to proceed! If you ask for anything that will cause her to put effort in, then you will get the response "I have too many students!" Positives: she responds to emails quickly.

At first I thought this teacher was more on the helpful side but she isnt. In the middle of the semester I had to move to Orlando ALL of my teachers made accommodations for me except for prof. Micheals. The whole concept of having a hybrid lab class to begin with is already difficult on the students but she doesnt seem to care about that at all.

Worst teacher at IRSC. She belittles her students and will not answer any questions. She does not care if you fail. Half the class dropped out and there was only a couple of us left! And she did not care at all! No one ended up with a A that semester

I would always have trouble with the online labs. She would never explain them. The quiz she would give with them werent explained either and would be a fill in the blank and automatically graded. You will suffer. She does not care about the students. Post lab questions usually have nothing to do with the actual lab/virtual lab. "Get ready to read?" More like "Get ready to teach yourself." You are expected to teach yourself topics. If you get anything from this review, let it be "Avoid Professor Michaels at all costs."

Online classes have been a hell as it is since COVID-19 started and its been even worse since Ive been in this course with this professor. The labs were simple, but barely introduced harder material, so you had to teach yourself. Post labs had material that WAS NEVER covered. She was rude as well whenever a student needed help. Shes not good!

Worse professor for chem. She was rude to students who asked for help and got mad at those who didn't. Took online Spring and there were like 8 labs, 3 in-person, no EC, tests were not the material we learned from HW. YouTube &ASC lab did a better job of teaching me. She should be instructing the lab, but instead it is some man that is not even our instructor taking us through the lab. 50 plus question homework due in two days and on class you have a quiz on nothing that was on homework or just a way more advanced version you were not taught. Do not take this teacher you will find yourself teaching yourself and it still wont be enough. On test ask questions/concepts she never taught.

Harakiri is far more enjoyable. Unclear expectations, half of every class is spent telling the class they suck and they should know better. She once got mad at the class for not reading stuff in a textbook that she didn't assign.
