heather is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I had soo much fun in this class and I learned so much!! I learned more in her lab then in lecture. She was so helpful, clear and organized that you breeze through lab and you actually understand what you are doing. I have retained more knowledge from this class than any other.

Professor Murdock is a great instructory. She is very approachable and is willing to answer any and all questions. She does not make students feel as if their questions are dumb, or unintelligent. She makes class fun and entertaining and is fair in her grading. I give her an 15 out of 10.

Heather did me dirty on a couple notebook checks (just kidding) and picked on me all the time in class (just kidding again) but she was a great teacher overall. i would recommend her to anyone taking bio-230. She made everything that was confusing in lecture very clear in lab. I think i may have walked away from this lab a little but smarter.

Heather was great! About 3 notebook checks, a few quizzes (easy), and scheduled practicals. Her written practicals weren't too hard compared to the lab practical. Her lab notes rock! I had a great time in her class and was never afraid to ask questions. Highly recommended!

Heather is great! She is really interested in your success as a student and helps students by doing reviews before tests. A quiz every week, but that is the same with all bio lab instructors. Heather is FANTASTIC! She is welcoming and has a very bubbly personality. She acknowledges that the material is hard and when she doesn't know the answer to the question, she'll get back to you by the next class. Go to class, everything you need to know is in her lectures not so much of the book. You can always get 100% on the quizzes, no doubt!

Her class was 2 days a week, and after each class you need to read a chapt. of bio. you can survive w/ out reading, just type all notes in class and print for studyguide. Heather is probably one of the best lab teachers I've had so far! She's really nice and open to many different points of view. She's also pretty chill and makes biol lab fun. If you have to take BIOL 240 make sure you have Heather for lab! There are usually 4 quizzes and a final and her quizzes are super easy.

Super nice teacher. Lets you have a cheat sheet on the two mid terms and final. Make sure that you go to all the study reviews because she goes over everything that is going to be on the midterms and final. She gives 10 points extra credit which really brought my grade up. Take this class!

Heather is amazing. Instead of making you buy a $100 book, she makes a reader that you can buy for like $30. Her lectures are straight from that reader, AND she gives tons of extra credit. She just genuinely wants her students to pass, I loved it.

Very good teacher. We did 5 online quizzes with unlimited tries for each. Other than that we had 2 midterms and a final, all of which allowed cheat sheets, and you get points for the cheat sheet too. Also she'll allow you an extra credit to make up something. I got an A rather easily in this course.

Though this is an extremely easy course, I would urge everyone to attend all the lectures because the information Heather teaches will help you when you are required to create study guides worth 10 points each that you can use during exams. She is funny and very nice.

I had Heather for bio 230 lab and she was super nice and made the course really fun and easy. She gave notes on each lab so we didnt have to sit and write down everything she said since we all had it in front of us. She is a wonderful teacher.

She purposely made her tests easier to negate the bad test scores received from pattersons lecture. i received a 93% in her class. She is very nice and explains things clearly. Sweetest professor I've ever had. She's so funny and tells the best stories! Her lectures are very clear- go to every single lecture and take notes because she tells you everything you need to know. The online quizes are super simple. The exams are sort of tricky but she requires 1 pg of notes, front and back. You get credit for it too.

EASIEST BIOLOGY CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN. She is so nice and helpful. She lets you use your notes on tests and gives you as much extra credit as you can do. Her notes are so clear. It is not necessary to go to class everyday because she wrote the reader and coppies it word for word, but I still went everyday because she is such a good teacher.

If you're a non-biology major & are looking for a class to kill off your physical/biological requirements for G.E. then take this class! Prof. Murdock is really enthusiastic about biology & she even wrote the book for the class. Tests are all open note & MC, & attendance isn't mandatory but she sometimes gives extra credit to students who attend.

The course material is just what you need to know, she wrote the book herself so you know just what you will be tested on. The tests are pretty easy and they are open note.

You can easily pass this class, but it's not that easy to get an A. If you want an A, ATTEND CLASS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, study hard and make good study guides. I couldn't get that A because of slacking off. Just 'cuz this class is easy doesn't mean you can slack off. I would take this class again though. She's really nice and funny.

Class was very interesting. We have 2 midterm and a final. However final was not cumulative so it was very easy. Take good notes with a laptop so you can use it on to study and as cheat sheet.

I attended this class only on the weeks of the test. (I was not about that 9AM life) and I still managed to pass the class with an A- so there is no reason you should get lower than a B. She reviews all the questions on the test the Tuesday before test day so make sure you at least go to class that day. I definitely recommend this teacher!

Incredibly personable and kind. Her lectures are pretty much all notes, but she has such a kind and positive personality it is not boring. She has great stories about her kids and such. 3 midterms and 1 final , there is some quizes in class for participation, but she will give you the answers for them. no homework! (Besides reading) Study guide is useless, don't bother doing them. When she's in class and asks a question, it is most likely going to be in the midtermfinal.

I LOVE YOU HEATHER!!!!!!!! NEVER CHANGE :) Her lectures are the very self-explanatory. There is a bunch of note taking but that's only because you'll be using them on the tests! You can always go to Heather for anything during her office hours and she will be there for you!

I took this class for a segment of my GE but with her lecturing, I felt as if I wanted to go switch from being a business major to a biology major. She is very clear when it comes to her lecture as well as interesting with her personal stories that make the class interesting.

The easiest class I've taken so far. Murdock is super cool and wants everyone to get an A in her class. You have unlimited attempts on online quizzes. Lectures can feel a little long due to all the notes, which she goes by really fast. But I highly recommend, if you go to class and study a little, you're guaranteed a grade no lower than a B.

If you take the class, you're pretty much guaranteed an A. Attendance isn't really required because she doesn't take role. There is an index card due at the end of class but its not worth many points. Before the exams, she does a review in which she gives all the answers. Copy that down and make a cheat sheet (which she allows). Easy A.

Heather never leaves you bored. Her lectures are easy to follow and interesting. While reading her book does help understand the lecture even better, you don't need it to pass. She wants everyone to pass, so if you're not passing, ask for extra credit. She's a very energetic and compassionate teacher. Loves her students.

Heather is awesome! The lectures are full of her just talking, yes, but she gives a lot of detailed notes and they're super helpful for your tests. You have a group paper, a few iLearn quizzes (easy) and 3 tests on the chapters you cover. She's very passionate and lively and made the subject way more interesting. You can tell she really cares!

This is the best class I've ever taken. Heather makes human bio interactive by relating it to students lives and she takes the time to listen to our stories and include us in class discussion and lectures. Just don't buy the bookshe wrote it so she's going to be a human copy of it.

I always struggled in Biology, and during HS I got a C, however with Murdock I got an A-! She is a wonderful teacher and amazing when it comes to office hours. Im a student athlete and she was super helpful and never once counted me down because I missed or anything like that. I highly suggest getting her as a teacher.

Heather is a great, she's very positive and upbeat in class and cares about her students. However, she doesn't use powerpoints to lecture and uses the board instead. It gets pretty messy tbh but if you focus it shouldn't be too bad. Plus, if you have questions shes more than welcome to answer it. She makes Bio240 fun, at least the lab part of it

Highly recommend taking Biol100 with Heather! Truly inspirational and creates a comfortable, accepting atmosphere for all of her students. Bio has always been a subject I've struggled with but I ended up getting a 97 in this class! She's easily accessible, offers extra credit, study sessions, and a one page cheat sheet for tests. Great lectures. I'm not one for science-related class, but I enjoyed the class. Read the txtbook n take notes are helpful! Quizzes are super easy since u can change answers multiple times until correct. Group essay is not too hard to do either. Tests are doable since u have study sheet.

Heather was the perfect teacher for BIO100. Her lectures are very clear and she has amazing stories. She wrote the textbook herself, so if you come to class each day and take good notes, you won't have to buy it. Easy enough basic bio course, she gives 5-6 quizzes that are very easy to get 100% and 3 major tests. Have to take notes by a pen and paper though, kinda hard to see the board since she doesnt use a projector. Dont buy the textbook, you wont need it since the notes she provides in class were good enough. Tests are fair, allows cheat sheet.

Iconic. A great class! Shes so funny and keeps her lectures interesting. I even went to Europe with her and other classmates for a class trip and shes such a great person :) (she does an optional European tour trip every summer!) Gives lots of opportunity for extra credit too.

Loved her, easy A (online) class but you definitely should pay attention. She shares a ton of personal stories that relate to her lectures. She would go off-topic at times because of the online zoom chat but she strictly went back to the lectures :) I recommend her. There was also just one group project.

Heather has been amazing during this pandemic. Very kind and respectful. She definitely has made this class SUPER easy as theres no possible way you can flunk it. The quizzes and tests are easy and you can use your notes. I would definitely take this class again as the fact that shes up and beyond. Truly a great professor.

Very good professor, super easy and interesting course! I hated Biology in high school and I loved this course in college. Grade consists of 2 papers, 9 quizzes, weekly forums, 3 exams, and Zoom attendance. Exams were super easy online as she allows you to check your answers before submission. Quizzes were unlimited attempts and untimed.
