She talks way too fast and jumps from topic to topic. Does not provide notes for her class and your notes end up being incomplete and incomprehendable. She gives weekly papers and no grading rubric. Marks off for whatever she wants, such as a correct block quote that she doesnt want out of the blue. Takes weeks to get grades back from her. ****y.
I thought that I would enjoy this class but she went way to fast in her lectures and made note taking pointless. Every day was a stuggle to keep up. Every thing I learned I ended up teaching myself out of the text book. Her projects were very vaugue and she didnt explain them at all! Then you would get a grade back without saying why you got it.
She went very fast through her lectures, but at least class was never slow and boring! Would grade harshly on papers and tests, but does not make it impossible to pass.
She has slides for lectures but talks fast- lectures go up on elearning at the end of the week. She has a paper due each week but as long as you write them and use documentation from the book you will get a good grade. Her tests are difficult but if you study by the study guide you will get a good grade. She is very generous with makeup tests.
GREAT teacher! Probably the best history teacher I have ever had. If you go to class and pay attention, easy A. You will learn a lot in her class. Very easy to understand. Very clear expectations.
She is the most arrogant person I have ever met. She knows EVERYTHING and you better not try to make her think any different. I am switching my major from history to...whatever, just because of her class.
Definitely knows her stuff; gives standard assignments that are relevant to the material being covered; grading is fair but exacting; tests are fair and from the lecture and notes; she lectures quickly but covers a lot of things that I got in high school too; makes the student pay attention and doesn't put up with rudness in the class.
Her powerpoints are long, but they help a lot. If you come to class and pay attention, you should do pretty good. She's pretty nice too. Just make sure you study a lot for the tests, because they're pretty hard.
I had to drop this class at the midpoint. Her class follows an electronic syllabus given at the beginning of the semester has all assignments on it. She gives a LOT of reading to do each night, chapters about 30 pages long each. Strict on papers-assigns one a week using documentation from book. If you aren't a good listener, DON'T take this class!
very helpful! show up and pay attention in class and you will do great! you write a paper every week...very easy..only one page! love the class! this class made me want to change my major to history!
Prof. Murray knows her stuff! She's confident and very knowledgeable of her lectures.Go to class, take notes.Ask questions if you have them!Always email her if you need to contact her!Friend her on facebook too!You don't have near as many papers to do as she puts on her syllabus,so try hard on the ones you have! And be on time with assignments!
She was a good teacher and clear on what the essays and tests were about. Only 2 tests-- midterm and final. Study guides were given and helpful if completed. The tests were hard but the essays were pretty easy. Overall it was an ok class. I probably would use only as a last resort.
The class is easy if you pay attention and take notes during the lectures (this makes the ridiculous amount of reading unnecessary, never opened my text book). The study guides and power points made the two exams relatively easy. I thought the lectures were interesting, she knows the material well. Very cool class, if you're into history.
Her lectures are VERY clear. only a midterm and a final which she gives you a study guide with the multiple choice and essay questions. easy if you pay attention. never opened my textbook unless you wanted more study material. just take notes and pay attention in class. have to write 1 one page paper every other week + the two tests. that's it
GREAT professor! She knows her stuff! Go to class or you'll miss a decade in history! Take lots of notes, rarely opens the book, 1 page paper's due every other week plus one 3 page paper at the end of the semester. 2 tests (she gives study guides in advance) and 1 quiz! Funny and sweet! I've taken her twice already and I'm taking her again!
I never liked history, but while taking it, history was my favorite class.
She is a great professor!! I never liked history before but she makes it very intersting and applicable. Her class is never boring and you learn so much. She only has two tests during semester so you have to do well. As long as you come to class and study you will be fine though. Def take her for history, she is the best history teacher ever!
classes were fun and i learned a lot. you write a few papers which she grades easy on then a midterm and final. Make sure to study for those test there are only two and count for a big part of your grade. it is mandatory to come to class you can only miss four times but if you go you dont need to read. I strongly recommend her.
She is the nicest lady and is very willing to help. You have to write about 4 essays, which she grades pretty easily on. You have a midterm and a final, which count for a good portion of your grade. But, they are fairly easy if you just study the study guide!
Loved her!!!! I had her for a 7am class and she made it very interesting! Definately recommend her :)
She is wonderful, she knows her material, is always prepared. Is truly involved in the students understanding and success. She has been the only reason I would recommend this school to others. Other teachers at this school should take a lesson on teaching from her.
Dr. Murray was probably the best history teacher I have ever had. She knows her stuff, even has a degree in military history, which is pretty gnarly. Her class is a lecture, and the notes you take are very important to study from, not the power points. She is very open and personable to her students and asks us all to be friends with her on FB!
Mrs.Murray is awsome, she is really helpful and make things really understandable, i hate history but she made me love it, her essays are extreamly easy and if you study the notes she gives during lecture you will do great on the test. there is no reason for you to have less than a b on her class..
Mrs. Murray has made me love history! I've always hated it but she teaches it in a fun way and helps you no matter what! She is bubbly and so much fun!! If you take notes in class and study them, you will make easy A's on the tests and the essays are short and easy! I can't say enough about her! She's my fav. professor out of all that I've had!!!
She is an excellent professor! She has been my favorite so far. She knows the course material and explains it til it is crystal clear to everyone. She would give an occasional essay assignment which weren't bad. And at the end of the semester, she assigned a book to read with an essay assignment pertaining to the book. Only 2 tests (midterm/final).
Mrs. Murray is an awesome professor and I highly enjoyed her class. She occasionally assigns a writing assignment but they were easy 1 page papers. Her lectures are far from boring and I only studied my notes for the Midterm and Final, got A's on both. She is passionate about what she teaches and she is extremely helpful. I will take her again.
Awesome teacher I highly recommend her! You wont need a textbook because everyday you walk into class you'll be learning as if you're reading from the textbook. But she does require you to read a certain novel, which I suggest you start reading it early. She makes history easier to undertand, especially if history is not your best subject.
Nice teacher! She grades fairly but your test grades are a big part of your final grade. You do use your textbook and you do have to read the novel. Overall, you have to study and she lectures every class so attending class is important. Every test will have an essay part. She will help you when needed. She wasnt my fav. but not my worst.
I took her for Hist2112 prior to this class and she is the reason that I now enjoy learning History! She teaches from power points but she knows her stuff so she doesn't rally look at them, she actually teaches the material! Her tests are challenging but if you study you'll do fine!
I love her! Makes class interesting! YOu have to earn it, she wont give it to you but she is great. Go to class, study and you will do fine! She grades more than fair!
Love Love Love her!!! Gives quizzes and papers but makes them to where they are easy to manage. Make class fun and the information easy to understand.
Loved her! Attendance is required but as long as you show up to class and take good notes, you will make good grades on her test. Papers and quizzes are pretty easy, you can use the book and the info she gives you. She doesn't grade harshly!
Professor Murray is an amazing teacher! I highly recommend her and would take her class again. She really knows her stuff. Makes lectures interesting and really prepares you for tests. There were three essays overall. She started out with the hardest essay then they get easier. Best history teacher i've had so far
Dr. Murray is an incredible teacher. I absolutely hate history and somehow her class became one of my favorites. I would recommend her to anyone. You must write 3 essays and take 4 exams I think but she prepares you well for them!
Dr. Murray is an excellent professor. She is engaging and her lectures are exciting. I can honestly say I look forward to going to this class. She is also very approachable, very nice lady. Just give effort and pay attention and you'll do fine.
she is great
Absolutely love her! My favorite professor by far! This class is very simple. Has weekly quizzes but they are all online and you have two attempts. Gives out study guides before each test! Has a few papers but the topics are always interesting and fun to write. Cares deeply about her students and will go out of her way to help. Such a great teacher
Prof. Murray is WONDERFUL. Her class is interesting and she has a great sense of humor. I have had her twice and I wish I could take her more. She grades super easily. You have three test and write a few 1 page papers. Highly recommended.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. She is very helpful, and is creative. She keeps the class interesting. You have to take good notes though, her class is not hard as long as you are willing to pay attention and do the work. Awesome teacher!!
Absolutely love her! Had three classes with her and walked away from all of them without stressing about my grade and knowledge I didn't previously have! Makes learning fun and teaches in many different ways so everyone learns the information! Is super nice and always willing to talk to you and help you in any way she can!
great teacher. Made history very interesting. Study Guides are great and helpful. knows everything that she is talking about. Awesome teacher.
Really enjoyed this class and the reading material. She is a great teacher, She grades pretty easy so if you are not an english major you will still do well.
AWESOME teacher. DO NOT miss a class if possible because you will miss a lot. Tells great stories while teaching. Requires a lot of papers but grades pretty easy.
Heather Murray! she is absolutely amazing. I am not a lover of history because of her. A lot of writing but fair grading. Super funny and dorky. Never a sleep fest. very informative. TAKE HER!!
LOVE THIS WOMEN!!! so clear with everything! we knows her stuff and is super funny! She uses alot of visual material =) her stuff is kinda hard and she doesnt sugar coat things. some of her stuff is a bit grafic given the fact that she teaches over slavery, trade and world history (you might cringe). there is a quiz almost every week on D2L.love it!
This woman blows my mind All the way through my high school career I absolutely hated history. She has made the class so interesting and actually makes me want to learn more about some of the stuff she talks about She also reviews everyday TAKE HER She''s great
Awesome teacher! I really enjoyed class with her so far, and no one in my class dropped out so that's a good sign. 3 tests, which you should definitely study for. Plenty of online quizzes and essays, but don't worry about those. And for the most part, forgiving with grading. Her lectures are very interesting and informative, so don't skip class!
Mrs. Murray makes history very interesting. After taking her class, I feel like i can speak with knowledge to others about historical events with confidence. I am looking to see what other classes she lectures for. Long papers but she isn't a hard grader. You must study for the test.
Professor Murray was an awesome teacher!!!! The tests were pretty hard, but her study guides really helped! My only complaint for the class was the amount of papers we had to write. However, the papers were short and she is an easy grader! She has a great personality and makes class interesting!
Mrs. Murray is my favorite professor at UNG. I have had her for all of my history classes thus far, and would love to take her again. She is truly and inspiration and helps all of her students fall in love with history.
She is a very sweet professor and she is VERY passionate about what she teaches. If you are one of those people that will have a crazy school schedule DO NOT TAKE HER! 5 Papers, 5 quizzes, 3 tests and 1 project. For me the tests were hard and all homework is due online on Sundays. She expects you to buy THREE books for her class. lots of reading.
This class requires attendance to learn the tested material(gives study guide). I did not read every chapter, but the book helps with the work. Work load? 5 papers (not graded on grammar just content), 3 tests (multiple choice and detailed essays), final was not entirely cumulative (this was a plus for me), and 5-6 online quizzes. Amazing prof.!
She's just all around amazing. I didn't receive the best grade solely because i didnt have enough time to read and study as much as i should have.
She my favorite professor, I've taken 4 of her classes. She genuinely cares about all her students. I can't say enough good things about her and her classes. They're great for history and non-history majors. If you don't know what you want to major in and like history take one of her classes, she's part of the reason I am a history major. Love her!
Great teacher. She is very passionate about her work. She is willing to helo if you fall behind. She is extremely easy to talk to.
Her class is fine and extremely informative, however her assignment do aid in support of learning the materials! If anything, it only hinders students to drop the class and causes more stress on them. take her if you got time to blow but if not, look for a different teacher. Don't believe, take the class yourself and you'll know.
She has a great voice! She doesn't take her time to read papers because she gives the same comments to others. She makes us do diagrams but she doesn't like drawing on the board. Used both books. Makes you work: 5 papers, 5 online quizzes (on quizlet), 3 exams, 1 in class project, 1 extra credit. Although, everything is weighed as 20%, easy grader.
I wish she taught more classes. I've taken her twice and she is my favorite professor by far.
She was a wonderful professor! I had her at 8 am but did not mind waking up and going. She makes the class very interesting and comical! Great teacher but make sure you do all of your work!!
History of World Religions was a very fun and informative class to take. You should definitely take it if you can. Mrs. Murray is a great professor and really cares about what she is teaching.
She is super nice! She tells you exactly what she wants on each assignment before its due. Attend every lecture and you'll be more than set for the tests! There's a good amount of papers but you can knock them out fairly quickly (they only have to be one page). Would take her again!
AMAZING!!! She brings history to life. Tests are pretty difficult but as long as you show up to lectures and study, it's typical college grading. Mrs. Murray is the best professor I have had!
Mrs. Murray Is literally the most favorite professor I've ever had. She was awesome, and I honestly wish I could have her as my professor again. Thank you for being amazing. TAKE THIS CLASS
Prof Murray conducted a very informative online class. Took a while to get grades back, so it was difficult to gauge whether you were meeting her expectations. However, I enjoyed the content of the class. She is very fair and kind. Discussion topic & reading quiz each week. 4 papers. Final was 5 short essay questions from the last unit, but easy!
Heather has been one of my favorite professors at UNG, she makes history interesting and not boring. If you want to excel in this class do the reading.
There was a lot of group-based projects in her world religions class, but students get to pick out the activities! She makes a more difficult class a lot of fun. She is very funny and down to earth. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed her class. Became my favorite class of the semester.
I cannot go on enough about Heather. I HATED history until I took this class. Her lectures feel like a storybook that I actually want to listen to! I enjoyed going to this 8AM class. She is so knowledgeable . 3 tests, 7 online EASY quizzes, 4 papers. A breeze if you just do your assignments, not a tough grader.
Prof. Murray does a super good job of discussion and opening the class up to discussion about religions and the history of them. She assigns everyone groups at the beginning of the semester and every Friday one group has to lead students in crafts or exercises related to the religion we discussed that week. Kinda unique but all in all a fun course.
Her lectures are really interesting and told as a story rather than facts. You have to take a lot of notes during lectures and there are a decent amount of assignments you have to do, including several essays. Overall, she gives you all the tools you need to succeed, you just have to put in the work. Definitely would take her again.
Professor Murray was by far my favorite teacher I have had so far. I had her class for 9am (first class of the day) never once did I nod off or almost fall asleep. Professor Murray keeps you entertained with her wit and tells history like a cool story. 3 test, a couple short one page papers, and online quizzes ever few weeks. All the work is easy!!
She is amazing! She has lectures everyday but they're very interesting just make sure to take notes. There's two exams and then a final. Each exam has one essay but not tough. There's essays and quizzes online but you have a week or two to complete them
She is a very caring professor with interesting teaching style and super organized with class materials. What I love most about her is that she answers emails with light speed, doesn't matter if it's during the weekend. Tests and papers are manageable. She grades papers easy. Take her class, you will learn a lot and you won't regret it.
She is amazing! She is so kind and funny and super organized. Two one page papers and one two page paper. She gives study guides with all her tests (multiple choice and four or five short essay that come directly out of the book). She gives you everything you need. One super easy and laid back group project. Honestly my favorite class I've taken.
She is so great! There are online quizzes and then papers every two weeks (they are only one page) based off articles she gives you. Super easy to do it! If you go to class, take notes, and look over them before test you will do fine.
Professor Murray is a very passionate about history. The material is good and her lectures are not boring. Just make sure to take good notes. She is always there to answer any questions you have. Gives study guides and goes over material to make sure you get it. Tests are not that hard as long as you study
Professor Murray is awesome. I have always thought History was such a boring subject, until I took her. Textbook is rarely used, but you do need it for a group assignment. Her lectures are amazing and I learned more than i've ever learned about history in this class.
The lectures are very interesting and helpful for the tests. The quizzes are easy. She gives study guides for the tests and they are very helpful. 10/10 would take again.
I cannot express how WONDERFUL she is! She lectures every class and puts the notes online but they are mostly images so make sure to take good notes. She makes history a story and is easy to follow! Tests are usually 25-30 questions and have an essay component. Three papers and the last one is over a book you have to read. Overall AMAZING!!!!
SHE IS AMAZING! History is not my best subject but she made it so interesting and enjoyable to learn american history. She takes her time to make sure you have the important notes she wants you to have. She also gives study guides before every test which is super helpful. And on the essays they are not hard at all so take her you wont regret it!
She is very passionate and knows so so much about the vast variety of religions she teaches over the course. She presents each of them without bias and her lectures are very informative. There are 4 papers you have to write, but she grades them very easily as long as you do what the topic says.
awesome history teacher, passionate and funny about the content! 3 papers to write and online quizzes every week. i'm not a huge fan of history, but i look forward to and enjoy ms. murray's class every day!
She makes every thing interesting and make history as a story that is being told. You should definitely take her. Her tests aren't terrible because she provides study guides for the tests that are extremely helpful. She also provide us with 3 essay prompts and one of them will be on the test. TAKE HER SHE'S GREAT She's not a tough grader on essays
Very nice teacher and is good at what she does! The only thing really is just that she goes fast during her lectures so make sure to record on your phone. if you miss a single day, you're already light years behind so make sure u have someone who can share their notes w you. lots of reading involved but you can skip it if u study hard enough.
Dr. Murray is a really nice professor who cares about her students and is obviously interested in the field she teaches. The discussion posts can be hard if you don't read, so make sure to read the textbook before answering. But she gives you all the links and resources you need to pass the class. I would recommend her.
OMYGOOOOD! SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSOR AT UNG! She's a fair grader and makes every lecture fun and interesting! TAKE HER CLASS! TAKE HER CLASS NOOOOOWWWW!!!! SHE IS SUPER FUN AND REALLY NICE! THANK YOU FOR A GREAT SEMESTER DR. MURRAY!!!
She is an awesome teacher!!! Took her for US history, not very hard if you pay attention. She's very interesting in her lectures; she explains history like a soap opera, very funny and exciting! You will have 3 essays (20%), online quizzes (20% ), and 3 tests (each 20%). Great class, and even better professor! Take her class!!
She made me interested in history again, amazing lectures and really funny! The quiz answers are on quizlet so you don't really need to read the book
She's a really good professor. You can tell how caring she is, even online. Her assignments aren't really hard, but you definitely learn from them. I'd definitely recommend her.
I loved her class. She made history very interesting and told it like a story so it was easy to pay attention. There are essays on the tests but if you listen in class, study, and put in work an A is possible. Take her if you want to learn a lot!
My favorite teacher I have ever had. She makes history so interesting and when I studied for her tests it felt more like review because she taught so well I felt like I already knew most of the material. I would take any class of hers if I could! There are 3 tests, 4 essays, and reading quizzes some weekends! Take good notes and youll do great!
She was a really good professor. She is very caring and nice. She replies to emails very quickly. There are three papers, one extra credit option and 2 tests and 1 final. Her test are multiple choice and free response. But they are easy and she is really caring and nice professor.
Lots of work! Weekly quizzes on textbook, powerpoints, and links for the chapter- does not let you work ahead for an online class. Also, 4 papers and weekly discussion posts plus 2 responses to classmates. For final exam she gives 10 questions on study guide but exam is only 5 of them- and its ESSAY. Fair grader, just wish you could work ahead.
TAKE HER!!!!! I was never really into history before her class and now its one of my favorite subjects. Her lectures are AMAZING. She tells history as a story and not just like boring facts, so it really sticks. Do the weekly readings and the termed study guides she gives you and youll be great! Also come to class :)
I used to love history and then after taking APUSH in HS, I hated it. She made me fall in love with history again. She makes you feel like you were actually there and you can really remember what happened in her class. Shes a great teacher and uses awesome power points to teach. You have to take a lot of notes (or at least I did) but it's worth it.
I absolutely love Mrs. Murray!! I took HIST 2111 & 2112 with her and shes an amazing professor. Each class has 4 papers, 3 tests, & weekly quizzes. She makes learning history fun and keeps you very engaged during her lectures. I highly recommend taking her if you get the chance!!
This is the second time ive taken her and she is great and usually she is very fast at grading but this semester she was slacking. She just finished grading everything a day before the exam was due (11-30-20). Shes a great professor but this year i guess because of COVID she was slacking, but she is a great choice.
I really liked her class. You have to listen to her lectures and always study, you'll be fine!!
One of my favorite professors! It is lecture heavy and requires studying but is a solid choice for HIST2112. As long as you take good notes and don't procrastinate you will easily pass the class. Only 3 tests (including final), 3 papers, discussion posts, and weekly quizzes) Super caring and easy to get in touch with.
Professor Murray is the ideal teacher. She has amazing lectures, super interesting. You will have to buy a textbook and a book book for her class, and you usually read one chapter a week. She clearly defined her expectations on D2L, and anyone can follow along. Large amount of work, yet manageable if you try. Best teacher I've had yet.
Prof. Murray is one of the best professors. Her lectures are interesting and keep you engaged. There were only 3 tests, 3 papers to write on (which were easy), and weekly discussion posts/quizzes. She is very caring and her work is manageable. One of the best professors at UNG! TAKE HER!
Professor Murrary posted lecture videos every week and we had discussion posts. If you watch the lecture videos and keep up with the work then you'll do great. I really enjoyed this class!
Professor Murray is one of my favorites. Every day she ask how everyone is doing and she is open to talk to anyone if you need to talk to someone. She is an excellent teacher and makes lectures fun and entertaining. She responds very quickly and she is always willing to work with you. Overall easy great class, take her, you wont regret it.
Homework about every week but its easy and manageable. Lectures in class but most of it was online and they were LONG. If you don't like that, you can look at the power point and still pass. Unlike many professors who uses tricks and weird wording on tests, her tests and writing portions are easy to understand.
She is one of the most interesting professors lecture-wise, I have ever taken. She doesn't drive her entire focus on PowerPoint's, but rather truly tells the story of history. Her grading criteria are also pretty clear, she gives you until 11:59 PM every Sunday to submit assignments.
Professor Murray is amazing! I have always had an interest in history, but in this class she really furthered my interest in history. There are a lot of lecture videos, but they are very interesting and you really learn something from them. Her in class lectures are even better and the assignments are not super hard. The tests aren't that bad too.
Dr. Murray is amazing. Her lectures are super engaging - tip: sit up front! - and she is very understanding about missing classes or needing to turn in something late due to extenuating circumstances. She is funny and relates History to current events, making things easy to remember. Absolutely recommend!
Dr. Murray is a great professor. She gives a lot of information nd goes through the slides kind of fast so make sure you can write/type fast or record her lecture to listen to later incase you miss something. She gives reminders out for when things are due for the week which is really helpful.
Loved Prof. Murray! Very caring and her lectures are SO interesting. You do need to put some effort in though: take good lecture notes (and study them) and you'll do fine on the exams which have 25 mcq and an essay. There are discussions 15%, 3 papers 15%, 3 exams 55%, and quizzes & assignments (easy 100s) 15%. Decent amount of reading. 10/10 prof!
Professor Murray is one of the best professors I have ever had. Her syllabus was accurate, she graded very nicely, always responded to emails, had interesting lectures and was very knowledgable, and the class was decently easy if you showed up, paid attention, and did the work that was assigned. The tests always had study guides and essay prompts.
Her class is heavy based on lecture but she makes it seem like a story. Has weekly discussion boards and quizzes but gives you 2 attempts. If you know basic history you will pass. She doesn't require you to know exact dates just sequence of events and timeline. Her class isn't attendance required can skip a few and still be good. Had her for US H.
Professor Murray is exactly what you want in a lecture-heavy course. If you have a hard time understanding history her class is great. She tells history like a story with humor and life and really pulls you into the backdrop of what's happening at the time. Participation is important. Read the book and take notes during lecture and you will do well
I feel like a lot of professors can be quite monotone or uninterested when they are lecturing, but you can so clearly hear in her lectures how passionate she is about history. It is almost story-like in the way that she lectures. As long as you attend lecture and keep up with readings and other online work, you will do good!
I took her online course this semester and it was really fun! There's only two or three assignments per unit which are mostly discussion posts. I think if you actually look over the material she puts up you'll do perfectly fine in this class.
Amazing prof. Her lectures are super interesting and really engaging. She actually understands the viewpoint of students and is really helpful. She is really easy to contact when you have problems, and works to make sure you figure it out, and she usually responds quickly too. Weekly chapter quizzes, 3 papers, 3 tests. Would definitely take again
Dropped her class after a month. She is a tough grader when it comes to essays. Quizzes were easy as long as you read the book. There are also a couple of other assignments. She has you read articles and has you type a paper. Articles are hard to grasp and understand. It seemed too much for a beginning class. The lectures were great though.
Dr. Murray is probably my favorite professor. I took her class through dual enrollment as a senior, but she was just such a good professor I don't think any future professor could measure up to her. Her lectures were so interesting and funny; you could always tell she had a passion for history. You'll do great as long as you take notes and study!
Professor Murray give amazing lectures. Her stories really made understanding material very easy and through her lectures you can really see her passion for history. Very caring and is very accessible outside of class. I would definitely take another class with this professor.
Lots of lecture but she tells them like stories which makes them more enjoyable, 3 papers throughout semester which are not hard. Weekly quizzes and discussions which are also not too hard. Only 3 tests throughout semester with an essay portion on each tests. Overall class is a decent amount of work but not too hard and lectures are not boring.
It takes a little while to warm up to her but Mrs Murray is great. Most of the work is done in the first half of the semester, so if you can pull through early then the rest of the class is easy. Her tests are difficult and include multiple choice questions and short essays. She is very laid back, which some may find boring. I personally liked it.
I suggest that you take Dr. Murray. For World Religions course online, you have weekly discussion posts, quizzes and readings. Along with video assignments and four different essay papers throughout the semester. There are no test given, except for the final! If this is a lot, she is always willing to meet and she responds within a timely manner.
Dr. Murray makes lectures so interesting and relatable! She engages the class by repeating/asking/linking concepts and telling stories. The class is frontloaded so it seems like a lot of work in the beginning but it eases up. weekly discussions, and quizzes are there for extra credit. 3 papers and 3 exams total but she gives study guides. Love her!
I would take this class again, she's a great professor. Super helpful with questions and assignments aren't too hard. If you miss a lecture you will get behind but if you are coming to class and doing homework you should be fine. She makes history intresting!!!
This woman is amazing. She really cares about us. I loved her class. She is passionate about her field and knows a lot. Notes are kinda hard, you gotta listen but as a whole the class isn't tough at all. Definitely take her class!! I'm doing another one of her classes over the summer I loved her so much
she is a really great professor and overall the best history teacher ive ever had
If you can get past the weekly homework, it's a wonderful class. Her tests are no joke but if you actually study then they're not too bad. She's a very caring woman and gives off a warm, motherly presence lol. She is passionate about history and it really helps you get into the lectures. I've had her before and enjoyed it so much I took her again.
Murray gives a lot of busy work, then takes forever to grade it. You'll write your third paper without ever receiving a grade for your first. Her feedback is often just a grade, with nothing else. She's very nice and definitely knows the information well, but her teaching style is not for me. Very lecture and homework heavy.
Gives amazing lectures very passionate and caring of her students. Attendance isn't mandatory but lectures are so good you don't want to miss any lectures. Exams are fairly straight forward.
Took History of world religions online, she was an amazing professor. Very caring and willing to help with anything. There were 3 essays and the final exam consisted of 5 short essays but she is very forgiving when grading. Each week consisted of 1 quiz, 1 discussion, sometimes a video assignment. Seems like a bit of work but it was not bad at all.
Professor Murray's lectures are engaging and full of passion. Though homework can be challenging, her teaching style and enthusiasm make the class rewarding. I found using Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook very helpful for studying and preparing for exams.
Discussion post heavy, expect one every week. Lectures are not boring, she made it very easy to pay attention. Quizzes are textbook based.
Dr. Murray is a great professor! I took her for 2111 & 2112. We had weekly discussion with reply to two students. A few assignments & weekly quizzes. Test were multiple choice with a one page essay. She gives study guide with the terms and important things you need to know for the test and also the prompts for your essay. Highly recommend!
If you can take Murray DO IT! Her lectures were perfect. She explained history in a way that felt like a story which made it easy to understand and enjoy. She made information very clear. Her work consisted of weekly discussion boards which were very simple and two essays. Her grading is very simple. Tests were easy I was able to get A's on all!
Great professor and wants to see her students succeed! There is weekly discussions, which require you to use your textbook! 3 papers that are all super easy. No midterm, there is a written response final. On the final see is very forgiving with the grading! :)
She is amazing. 1000% recommend
She just speaks kind of slowly and very softly, easy to miss a lot of what she says. My main grievance is that she makes history feel like a chore most of the time. US History is my major and my favorite subject, and she makes it seem boring and useless. Random facts strung together, hard to actually learn anything. Feels like a high school class.
All you have to do is show up and be on top of your work! She's a great professor, very understanding and kind. The material isn't hard at all, she makes it very enjoyable to learn as well! Be prepared for lots of discussion posts, though!
