This was the hardest easy class I had. It was super easy in the way that all you had to do was a little reading and the class was all discussion and debate however, the way she grades is weird and makes it almost impossible to get an A. There is only one test and a few quizzes. She is fairly unorganized but it's not a bad course. Not my favorite.
Tough grader when it comes to essays. Lose points with every missed class. No book but you will print off material for every class. Overall okay class. Wouldn't take in hoping for an easy G.E.
I tout this class was extreemely easy. There was a lot of reading but it was all doable. The class is mainly discussion with everyone's opinion. There typically isnt one right answer. As long as you can defend your response, your opinion is not devaluized.
This class was frustrating to say the least. Syllabus was changed multiple times. Teacher didn't respond to emails often. Was unclear on assignments at times. She is nice, will work with you if your unsure, willing to listen to your opinion, but unorganized. Two papers, inclass debate, journals, and mandatory attendance. Not an easy A.
Very hard grader did not really know what she was talking about. Clearly no business background.
This lady is very unorganized and has no idea what she's teaching. Her lectures were straight out the book, she's an extermly tough grader for a professor who can't spell herself. She comes off as unstable and problematic person. Her grading criteria makes no sense. Attendance is mandatory she will fail you if you miss to many sessions. AVOID!!!!
Not an online course but half the material is posted on moodle. Not easy. Don't speak up in class unless you plan on being politically correct all the time. Unorganized. Three essays, debate, community service, group video, quizzes and readings every week. Must avoid this class at all costs.
Avoid her at all costs. Yes she is unorganized but even if you participate and do all the work it's not enough. I passed with a B- and I am not happy with the grade I got at all. Expect tons of work and harsh grading no matter how much effort you put in.
20 hours volunteer service on own time. End of year debate. Attendance is mandatory, if you dont go you wont pass. Dont bother emailing, she wont respond. Lectures are incomplete and confusing. Havent received any homework or papers back all semester. Students have no idea what their grades are. Dont recommend this professor. Many students dropped.
DISASTER!!! Avoid this professor for this class at all costs!! Lectures are confusing, as she is easily confused. You have to also put in several community service hours - which is not difficult so long as you're not a full-time EMPLOYED student. No CLUE what your grade is during the semester. 2 group projects. VERY SCATTER BRAINED!!
Does not explain assignments clearly. Then grades hard on them. She'll give a rubric after you've turned in an assignment. Barely ever prepared to lecture. Gives quizzes almost every session.
Horrible master student teacher. Avoid at all cost. Doesn't know what she's teaching, often makes mistakes. Very unorganized. If you have a question that sucks for you because she can't answer it. Worst instructor I've had in my life. Always talks about her religion in class
She is very unorganized, her lectures are extremetely boring, 20 hours of mandatory community service project. Does not respond to email. I always got the feeling that she didn't really know what she was doing. Do yourself a favor and do not take this class with her.
Very hard grader. Does not know what she is doing. She can't spell and is a scatterbrain. A lot of reading with no text book. If you do not show you will not pass. Do not take avoid her at all costs.
Not a good teacher. Disorganized and asks for too much from students (community service project, several papers, tests, video project, end of year debate, homework assignments). You cannot skip a single class without being penalized. Everyone is right, avoid her at all costs.
Although Professor Muser's intentions are well meant this class was not the most clear. Group projects, random lectures, and forced attendance for credit made it feel like a high school class. On top of that community service in the class was mandatory. If you have other obligations avoid at all cost. Not worth the work.
avoid! You will have no idea what your grade is all semester. We did not get things back for 3 months. If internet (on campus) is down during class, you are out of luck because quiz (on moodle) will not be postponed. Hardest class of the semester and only B I got. Avoid her at all costs! Grading criteria is also not clear for assignments.
Muser wasn't the most horrible professor, but definitely was not the best. very passionate about the philosophy of ethical decisions in a business setting, but VERY opinionated. we had a lot of reading, quizzes following. we did 2 major projects. as you can see I got a B+. she refused to round my 89.9 to a 90. she was smart mouthed/rude responses
avoid her class, was not worth my time, money, and effort. i did not learn anything in this class. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS
She does ask a lot out of you, but she also isn't a tough grader for what she does ask. The community service took a long time, but the best thing to do is get the hours done as soon as possible. She allows the class to discuss moral situations with each other, which I felt allowed me to see things through other lenses. Her lectures were vague.
this lady definitely asks a lot of you! Skip class you wont pass honestly since you're graded as well on attendance. readings every class and if you don't read all 25 pgs of each reading you wont pass the quiz the day of class, simple as that. other assignments is an easy grader. Major attitude and a hypocrite too!If you decide to take her goodluck
Did not enjoy this class at all!! Hoped to learn a lot from it but its kind of one of those classes that the teacher makes it or breaks it for you. She is so bi-polar and if she catches traffic to get to class she will be really moody!! If you ask questions about something she kind of acts as if you are stupid but will still answer it. DO NOT TAKE!
Nice lady and an easy grader. Grades based on content rather than grammars. Her class is easy. The Bad is she makes this 3 unit course feels like a 5 unit course. 3 papers, 11 hours community service, group video, group debate, weekly reading and quiz. No text book. Mandatory attendance. She makes you pay for a service just to take attendance.
Assignments: (1) 11 hours community service (2) research paper (3) self-reflection paper (3) comm. service reflection paper (4) Reading quizes (5) Debate (6) Group video. Dont buy book! Pay attention to her lectures & take EXCELLENT notes because these notes are basically your answers to your final. She allows 3"x5" cheat sheet note card. TYPE it.
I recommend taking this class online with another professor. Assignments include: 1 research paper, 2 self reflection papers, 11 hours of community service, group debate, group video, and weekly readings that are at least 20 pages. Read everyone's comments, DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!
Readings for quizzes are looooog. You miss one requirement from an assignment your grade drops tremendously. Her way is the only way. The course was meant to teach methods of reasoning for decision making, unfortunately she only considers her own reasoning. Only take her if you have no other choice.
Do not miss her class because it will affect your grade. Only excused absences such as medical or school activity will not affect your grade, also need to do an participation assignments to make up absences. Used Moodle for our readings and Top Hat for attendance. There is a lot of group work and community service. Do not do it last minute.
Way too much work for this class. Trust all of the bad reviews. Attendance is mandatory although she gives you one day to miss and if you do, you can make it up by summarizing any business article of your choice but you will still lose points because you'll miss a quiz. DON'T RECOMMEND. She tries to seem nice but acts likes she's smarter than you
She is a philosophy professor. She Does not give out any A+ because in philosophy she say there is no such things as perfection! Highest she gives is a A-, how is that even fair? No such thing as fairness in philosophy! Lol! Avoid!
Professor Muser is a nice teacher. Weekly quizzes based on academic readings, three papers, 11 hours of volunteer work and a group video. A lot of work for a 3 unit class, but all of the work is easy. Attendance is mandatory! Take good class notes and you'll do well on the final. She allows you to bring a 3x5 note card.
Must attend class for participation points. Late work is automatically worth 50% of your grade. She incorporates philosophy concepts into business ethics. I advise those who are not familiar with philosophy to pay lots of attention in class and take very good notes. Lots of written assignments and readings. 11 hours of community service
She's nice and really cares about students, has great class discussions, but she's a tough grader. There's SO much reading, and a quiz every class on the readings. She says they just ensure you read them, but they actually ask about obscure details you don't remember. She's really sweet and interesting, but she's awful at teaching.
So incredibly rude and totally not understanding. Would not recomend
Reading quizzes are super specific, she asks for very precise details. Very harsh grader. Gives rubric or questions for assignments and only give 95% max except multiplechoice. I will avoid her the rest of my academic career.
Professor Muser is straight forward. There's a lot of group projects, required to volunteer 20 hours to a community org. Research paper, Group debates, reflection papers. Read lecture materials as they are heavy quiz questions. Downfall is you are in two groups for debate and community service. Needs to stay on top of schedule for schoolwork.
This professor most definitely lets her religious views interfere with class time. If you question her about anything that seems unfair she takes it personally rather than professionally. The class itself was not difficult really but seemed more so than it actually was because of the way she goes about things. DO NOT RECCOMMEND
Worst professor, she acts like people take this class for fun it shouldnt be this hard and she makes it too hard. Shes so difficult and over the top it is not worth it take anyone else i promise you its better for your mental
Assigns long and complex reading but never really breaks it down in her lectures. Will grade harshly if you do not follow her instructions exactly as written. Writing prompts are not very clear or assume your opinion on a matter. All this and after 15 weeks I can't say I learned something that wasn't common sense.
One of the worse professors I've had so far. The way she grades is not only hard but very inconsistent and takes forever to respond to emails. She will also allow some students to turn in assignments late if they're "honest" but won't let others do the same. She talks about religion a lot so if you aren't religious I wouldn't taker her class.
BEWARE UNREALISTIC WORKLOAD FOR AN ASYNCHRONOUS COURSE! I did 100x more work in this class vs my WP one last semester. Avoid Dr. Muser like the plague if you want to steer clear of busy work and pointless time wasters. Prompts are not clear. She grades harsh, requires a massive semester project, and a group debate, which is so hard to coordinate.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. Never in my life have I ever been in a class where the professor doesnt help nor really lectures. Shes gets side tracked a lot. I needed help for one of the big projects we had and emailed her. Instead of helping she said theres more opportunities and this was very early on. Avoid her at all cost.
I would not recommend for anyone to take this professor. She is difficult to get in contact with and that is very upsetting when questions need to be answered. Professor Muser rarely inputs grades, you don't really know how you are doing in the course. Her lectures, readings, and assignments are ok, she is a nice professor just unorganized.
Please give her a call instead for anything. Make sure you post comments on the lecture and has a total of 9 quizzes, easy. She gives out two big projects in this class: Debate group project and Business Investigation project. She will give out 6 writing assignments based on the readings, etc. You will have a final exam at the end of the semester.
She gives out a lot of unnecessary work so make sure you read everything carefully bc some students didn't complete them and she's confusing too. Make sure to reply on the comments on the lectures, respond to the question & answer forum, quizzes are okay, & two big projects. SHE GRADES SO HARD ON THE FINAL! SO BE CAREFUL. CONTACT HER THROUGH PHONE!
Don't procrastinate on homework, reading, quizzes, and projects. The readings were hard, but the video lectures helped me understand them. She was a fair grader and accessible outside of class. Projects take some work, so don't put them off. Even though the course took some effort, I enjoyed it.
Makes it difficult for students to succeed. All the Projects where thrown at us in a week when not relevant to what we where doing at the time. Makes it to where you have to figure it out and work together to succeed. Its a class where you have to have adult skills. Some notes that you take are valuable others are not. Big projects in class
Made it very difficult to succeed, even for students that stay on top of their work. This professor was very unclear on a lot of the assignments as far as what she was looking for and even their due dates.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. She gives an extreme work load for only a 2 credit class, with group projects and community service and is not flexible at all. If you take this class with her, make sure you are not taking a bunch of other classes at the same time. She takes forever to respond and says she will help but doesnt.
Be ready for heavy lectures. Prof Muser is a very kind professor and loves to talk about Ethics. The class was very interesting but there's a lot to read and write about. There's one group project and a community service project. Also quizzes about the readings weekly. I would take it again if it was mandatory. Otherwise, good class overall.
This is the worst class I have ever taken. Avoid at all cost.
Online lectures are super outdated - hasn't updated since 2020. Doesn't give any feedback for assignments. Very lecture heavy. Lectures are too long for what they're worth - talks too much about herself and doesn't relate it to the material well enough if at all.
Please avoid this professor, she has caused so much stress in my life. Long reading, little points. She requires you to do community service hours. She wants you to write a 4-5 page essay. including interviewing three people. Her lectures are super old so it caused so much confusion. Pls avoid her. Goes off topic
Dr. Muser is not very clear on what her assignments are. for her online class she uses lectures that are a couple years old, but her class has changed since then so it is hard to understand her lectures at times. tough on grading papers and does not provide feed back.
Don't take her, she hands out -5 on assignments. Instead of a 0 you get a negative 5 which drags your grade down a letter.
No feedback on my papers. No explanation for the grade I received. She has no idea what she is doing.
Clear grading criteria of what is expected from you. Easy class to pass if you turn in ALL your work. Tough grader in papers. 1 final, 1 group debate project, 11 volunteer hours from a list of companies she has, 2 extra credit opportunites (2 pts, 4pts), weekly quizzes on that weeks reading,4-5 written assignments with min of 2-5 pages.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Her lectures are from 2020, it is very confusing to understand what is expected from you when she is saying one thing in the lectures and another on the prompts. She expects a lot from you and is a very hard grader.Very lecture heavy and off topic. Assignments are worth a lot of points, if you miss one you basically failed.
May 15th review has perfect workload summary. Can occasionally get off topic. Bus Ethics is just a poorly taught topic across the board at Stan State, all professors. Class is tough compared to others, do readings and show up and you should pass. Take notes in a doc for all lectures. Avoid if you have a lot of other commitments. Unfair grader.
My biggest regret for this semester was taking Professor Muser for BUS2090. Her coursework is so confusing, her lectures are outdated also, plus she's making us do community service. Not only that, but she's such a tough grader. Avoid Muser like the plague.
Horrible. Lectures from 2020, due dates in lectures different than canvas ones.Lots of reading and long lecture videos, goes off topic and mentions faith a lot. Group project and community service project worth half your grade. If you reach out for help she will say to watch the lecture or view syllabus. Wish I dropped the class when I was able to.
Probably the worst professor I've ever had. She required zoom meetings for a fully online class with no meeting time. Additionally she required we work in groups which is the worst for a FULLY online class. She's hard to reach and never answers texts or emails. So many students also had issues with her and not being clear with her instructions.
acquires a lot of work but is very unclear on how she wants projects to be completed, no way to reach out to the professor for help. does not reply till hours or even days later making it hard to understand and complete assignments. grading is highly unclear she has rubrics but does not follow them herself to grade, takes months to grade any work
What everyone else have said! SO BAD! Mandatory attendance even though it was a HYBRID class. Felt like you were taking an in person class on top of an online class twice the workload! She is clueless and awful at explaining, directions make no sense and don't match up. Not hybrid as advertised. Can only miss one class and you better be in a coma.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Mandatory attendance with audio and camera on even though it's HYBRID. Community Service and Group Project are worth 50% of your grade that have nothing to do with Business Ethics. Impossible to get ahold of. Uses old lectures and disorganized information. Have learned nothing from this class so far.
By far one of the rudest, condescending and unwilling to help professor I have every experienced. She refuses to answers questions of clarification. Refers you back to the written syllabus or instructions and then grades you so harshly for not following instructions. Doesn't grade anything on time. Wait WEEKS for feedback and expect it to be bad.
She's is the worst professor I've ever had.
Listen to everyone, do NOT take her. She is a very harsh grader and she is unclear with instructions. Every time I have asked for help she responds to me rudely. She dropped my grade 2 grade levels and gave me half points for missing one thing on a 10 point assignment. Take anybody else but her.
Her lectures are very old and outdated. 50 percent of your grade is community service. I did almost every assignment and I still got a bad grade. She doesnt really follow her own rubric. She removed all lecture videos and course readings off canvas a day before the final was due so I couldn't study. Please take a real professor.
Worst instructor I've ever had. Long/unfocused lectures that were recorded in 2020. Takes months to grade work. Rubrics for assignments are vague and different from what she says in lectures. Removed all readings/lectures the week of the final without warning. The biggest assignments had nothing to do with the course. Very condescending and rude.
This professor is tough on you, but so long as your willing to put in the work, the quality of your learning will be above that of many professors. She expects you to attend each class ( with one free day to miss), she does have a group project, and yes there is a lot of reading, but what you learn from her class is of the highest quality.
Honestly worst professor do not take her online classes. No amount of work will prepare you for how bad of a grader she is. Also her lectures are from covid years so about 4 years ago which is pointless. .I am a double major in Econ and Business Finance. All my classes combined this class was much harder. You WILL NOT LEARN ANYTHING DO NOT TAKE
I do not ever suggest taking this professor. She provides instructions for an assignment and then marks down points for things she never included in the instructions. She does not give feedback on grading. When doing an assignment you will never get full credit because she pulls things out of her ass in order to dock points.
A lot of reading and writing. Mandatory community service 11 hours, an eight-page research paper on the organization and another paper on your experience. careful with the group project make sure you understand or your grade will be negatively affected because she won't accept it if instructions are not followed (the instructions were confusing).
This is the worst professor on Earth. Please do not take her class and take another teacher. I am a A and B student and received my first C bec
This is the worst professor! Please do not take her class and take another teacher. I am a A and B student and received my first C because of her unclear grading and due dates. Her lectures are outdated, she is rude and condescending. If you ask her for feed back she will tell you no and if you ask her why she will say you are verbally abusive.
They just let anyone be a professor at Stan I guess. Don't waste your time. If you have to take a class and shes the only professor left whos classes havent been filled its for a reason. Wait till next semester straight up.
Avoid at all costs. Very long and unfocused lectures which were recorded in 2020. Huge community service project that is not related to the course. Extremely vague rubrics for assignments with no feedback given. Group project that is a huge part of your grade which is also not related to the course. None of these other reviews are exaggerations.
The worst professor I have quite literally ever had. Not sure how she is still teaching. Stan should probably look into that. Verbally abusive, unclear grading rubrics, due dates change mid-term. Many assignments don't make sense nor relate to the class. Volunteer hours required. She tries to push her own beliefs and agenda on students.
This is a horrible professor, if you enjoy your life, please AVOID THIS PROFESSOR.
There is a group project which consisted of a 30 minute presentation. You have to do 10 volunteer hours for this class which both of these assignments had no significant correlation to the class! You have to write 4 papers for this class (they are spread out). Would not take again. Probably my most stressful class ever! also lots of readings!
Verbally abusive teacher. Does not help outside of class. Dont know how she is a teacher. All lectures are prerecorded. She puts no effort into her work but expects students to put in 110%. Her class is the only one available for a reason. Everyone AVOIDS her. Please avoid if you can!!
Tough teacher. Speaks about her personal life and not actual content.
I swear this was one of the worst professors I've had here at CSU Stan. She did not put anything under the assignments tab, but rather she had it all set up on modules. No reminders on canvas. My dad passed away so I missed the first two assignments but she did not care when I contacted her. Literally terrible. Please avoid her if you can..
The class itself is okay but professor wants things done specifically. Gives no feedback on graded papers/assignments and VERY strict grader. Honestly don't recommend taking it with her!! take someone else!!!!
This has got to be the worst professor. It's actually getting sad how much this school has failed to hire respected professors over the years that know what they're talking about. She doesn't teach, but talks about her personal life like it matters to us. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS.
Personally, this class has too much of a work load. You need 12hrs of community service and meet and record with group members for a debate. For an online class its inconvenient. Too much overall on top of weekly assignments , quizzes and readings. Personally, I don't like that her lectures are from Covid zoom recordings with other classes.
Do yourself a huge favor and Avoid taking her course, it's almost impossible to pass. She's such a hard grader and doesn't communicate at all. Zoom recordings are old from zoom full of students
Professor Heather Muser should not be teaching here at Stanislaus. She is an awful professor who politicizes all her classes as well as having the worst attitude during the class. She also provides a hostile learning environment. She has no idea what she is talking about while teaching as well. So much for all those degrees. Take another class.
She is one of the worst professors that Stan State has to offer. Her lectures make zero sense! At this point we as students should come together and petition for Heather Muser to be fired from teaching here! Save your sanity and choose someone else!
Demands are given to you the first day of class. I don't agree with some comments, she actually gives us a wake up call that we are at the university level! I mean its ETHICS. Learned how to do investigative research and the final is long. Specific on what shes looking for didn't impact my grade much since I completed all my work. Solid B! Im good!
At first I thought this class was gonna be difficult. But as long as you show up to class, take notes and turn in work on time you will do fine. While this class wasn't super difficult, it wasn't super easy either, but I'm happy with my grade.
Not the easiest class ever, but as long as you show up to class and do the assigned work its not bad at all. One big group project and a community service project will make up a good portion of your grade, so showing up to class will not be enough to pass. DrMuser is really helpful and cares that her students learn the material in a meaningful way.
This professor has no sense of real-life circumstances. I missed two assignments and was given a no-credit for the course due to a scheduling mistake. Claims to be an ethics professor but does not have the faintest idea on what the topic means. DO NOT TAKE.
Hard to reach because she is so busy. Doesn't understand personal circumstances. Willing to listen but will not change her ways.
I've taken this professor twice now. And have had terrible experience both times. She puts her syllabus out weeks in advance however it is outdated. Personal or profession life circumstances are not acceptable excuses for her. I'd recommend avoiding this professor to avoid condescension and unwillingness to really teach.
Well first off, she sets up assignments with a bunch of questions needing to be answered but there is no rubric and then grades it from a rubric. It's either all or nothing on the points you either get a 0 or a 50 no in between. She waits until the last two weeks to grade everything and so its annoying as we have deadlines and she doesn't.
Please do not take this professor! Her syllabus has no due dates, and there are no instructions on how to complete participation assignments. Lectures are really long, and she mainly talks about herself. It's difficult to contact her, and when she does respond, she's rude. Stan State should not allow this kind of professor to teach.
Had an A in the course but received no credit because I missed two lecture videos. She has all the assignments in the calendar but the participation are in the modules so I missed it as there was no reminder for it. So now I can't graduate due to two lecture participations that are worth 4 points and it's a 1 unit course. She doesn't even care.
