Very nice and helpful. She tries her best to make sure you pass! She gives out 4 extra credit assignments and drops your two lowest quiz grades! You read the entire book but she explains everything to you. Great sense of humor! I recommend her for anyone!
Great teacher, she explains everything and after class is always available for questions. She is easy going, uses funny video clips that correspond with what we are going over. I highly recommend her to anybody
She is a very good professor, very clear, and fair. It's not hard to get an A if you read the book and complete the assignments. Extra credit options, a plus! It's not a boring class even if you don'y like politics.
She was a super cool teacher and we watched a lot of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert which we hilarious she made the class fun and funny only two papers in the class which are easy and you have plenty of time to complete just have to read every week
She's an extremely nice teacher & is willing to WORK WITH YOU. She gives quizzes almost everydays so look over the vocabulary at least! She give extra credit & has 2 easy papers at the end of the semester. She clarifies everything & even gives you rewards (: really nice professor!
one of the best teachers evr and class extremely easy quizzes like ever day at begining but mostly on vicab words there are plenty extracredit and she gives us thorough study guides for only one test plus the final. Then one case brief and 1 essay but mostly opinon base you cant fail..MUST tAKE tHIS CLAss!!!
Really great professor. Easy to understand. Passed the class with 105 A!
Vary Good.
Professer Ramsier is such a great teacher! Very lively and active, has a clear voice and is more than willing to work with you on anything! Coursework was really easy, I passed with flying colors. She's amazing I recommend her for ANY course she teaches.
She is a super laid back teacher, I took her fast track class and it was very easy! as long as you take notes and pay attention the class should be a breeze, there are only two major assignments, and the quizzes each week are all online and open book!
She was an amazing teacher. I wrote my first college essay in her class and received a 99%. As well as I am voting this year because of her! I took the flex start American Government and passed with a high A. Open book quizzes, and only two major assignments. I enjoyed her class, hope everyone else does to!
Great teacher! She makes sure to explain everything clearly and shows a lot of funny political videos to keep class interesting. Online 10 question quizzes every week, some HW assignments here and there, 1 essay, 1 case brief, midterm, and final. She definitely helped me understand politics/government way more. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
TAKE!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING CLASS. every single class was entertaining. She shows crazy funny videos all the time. Super laid back. I learned so much. Very passionate about her job. she is a fun teacher and this is a good class, you will love her!
Amazing teacher. Laid back, gives out study guides, extra credit opportunities. A very easy class yet I learned so much. Recommend 100%
Take her! She's an amazing teacher. You have 1 midterm and 1 final. You do get study guides. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. 14 quizzes, usually vocab, so read the chapters in the book. She drops the lowest 2 quizzes. 1 political socialization paper, but not difficult at all. Lots of Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert videos. Fun class. Loved her.
She's the best. A lot of videos, she make the class very interested.
This class is pointless . You learn nothing from it and its a waste of your money.
Amazing professor !
Super nice and helpful teacher. She gives quite a few assignments, but they are mostly all helpful and easy. Would highly recommend!
With the amount of activities she does, she helped me figure out what I wanted to do in my future. Shes very clear, helpful and gives plenty of time between assignments. She's a talker, that did bother me just a little. Just make sure you do your co curriculars & all the little assignments, they make a difference.
She speaks a lot but she only wants the best for you and you to gain all the experience needed for a better education. The class has so much assignments it hard to keep up. No test at all. It's easy just a lot of work.
She speaks a lot but she tells you things you probably wouldn't know about school activities and to better future in college. There are so many assignments it gives you a headache. Some assignments are dreadful. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities. You need both books, the SSTM is crucial and the other one you only need the code.
This professor makes this class a breeze as long as you're able to do your part as well. If you don't do the simple assignments she gives you, you will not pass this class.
Professor ramsier is a GREAT professor. This class will help you a lot through college. Easy A as long as you're willing to put the effort to do all of the assignments. Although she speaks a lot she is very helpful and there for you throughout the class and after to advise you.
Professor Ramsier is a tough grader when it comes to grading assignments but when she grades she will leave feedback on what should be done or could have been done. There is a lot of homework and a lot of reading, but its expected from a in the purpose of finding ourselves. She's respectful and there to help, if you reach out and in a timely manner
Best teacher ever. Super helpful if its your first year of college. Assingments are very easy and help you get yourself together. Although, ALOT of assignments. if you stay involved and don't slack off its an easy A. Many extra credit opportunities. She we make college easier for you. also, 2 different short books to read.
Usually gives work but there's always enough time to do it. Mostly small assignments every week or two. Not hard, just take the time to do it. Professor talks alot but that's who she is. Also funny, and enjoyable to have especially early in the morning. Would take again. Great professor, well recommended!
Professor Ramiser is Awesome, She Helped me out so Much and she is hilarious and jokes around a lot, She talks a lot but its ALL INTERESTING THINGS! you will never be bored in her class. There are like no test, a lot of homework and class work, But all Super easy and beneficial. One Big Cool final presentation that you can be super creative with.
Professor Ramsier was one of the most helpful people at Valencia. She held me choose my degree and set up my schedule for my time at Valencia. I found the university I was really interested in and she's currently helping me to get there.
Great Professor! She really care for the students in her class and if you need help for anything she'll help you. A lot of work for this class but is not hard work. The only way you could fail her class is by doing nothing.
She's very clear on what she want and she's not afraid on what's on her mind. She cares about her students and she gives good feedback when asked. She give a lot of extra credit. Great teacher :)
Prof. Ramsier is pretty good. There's quite a bit of assignments for this class which are both easy and helps you plan your future, but just make sure you spend time doing them. Lectures are not that bad, show up to class. You might be flustered with all the assignments on Bb initially, but send an email or talk to her to clarify. Overall, not bad.
One of the best Professors I have had at Valencia. She is VERY helpful with Career and education path. She will help outside of class. Homework amount is is a bit much but it is manageable, Homework are assignments that usually take an hour or 2 Tops, if you properly use your time.
Professor Ramsier is very knowledgeable. She will use her resources to help her students. She tells it how it is. Text book is useful unless you like e-books. There are many assignments they are easy as long as you pay attention. Don't miss any. definitly recommend her to anyone to take her
Professor Ramsier is a very approachable and important professor. I highly recommend her for Student Success. I had been out of school for 25 years and had no clear how to navigate college. She shows you what is important for your academic success and is accessible after class. I just received an email from her checking on us after two years!
She's an awesome teacher, very caring and helps in any way possible. YOU HAVE TO ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU GET CONFUSED. Don't wait till last minute to ask her something.
Ramsier is a Professor that genuinely cares about you and the educational path that you take. Prepare to dig deep and do all of your work. There's a lot of work, but it's all easy because it pertains to you. Be prepared to attend skill shops, and make sure to schedule your skill shop appts. in advance! She is also hilarious, makes the class fun!
Professor Ramsier herself is a great professor. I can't say much about the SLS class. The class is not useful and has not taught me anything. I'm not happy that I have to pay for a class like this, but it is what it is.
Professor Ramsier is a great professor. I highly recommend to take her if you can! Professor Ramsier does a great job of keeping the class's attention. There are a lot of papers, assessments, and a few quizzes, but it is easy. She gives clear instructions and grades completely off what the rubric says.
Always available to help if you ask. Treats everyone with respect. Makes the class fun but educational. Would gladly take a class from her again. Lots of assignments but it helps you learn you.
TONS of extra credit. A lot of work class of 800 + points. She gives a lot of workshop work and assignments. Strengths quest tests on BB.
She is an amazing professor. The lectures are really helpful if you feel lost on what major would fit the best for you. Also, she is full of helpful information about college and opportunities that the college offers. Her advises are amazing; overall great professor
Professor Ramsier really cares about her student. You really can't go wrong with her as your professor. Yes there is stuff that is required for her to do but she makes it easy as possible. You can set up meeting with her outside of class if you need her advice about anything school related. I highly recommend her as your teacher.
Would recommend for the New Student Experience class.
Awesome professor all around
This class did not help me at all. It's an easy A if you know yourself and exactly what path you want to take. I still don't know what I want to do in life. This class has done nothing but confuse and cause stress about my future. She never answered any of my emails when I needed help. I would take it after I have an idea of what career I want.
Amazing. Wonderful. Awesome. Turned my opinion of the new student experience class around 180 degrees. I wish I could have her for all of my subjects. She responds to every email, she's on top of every student when it comes to helping them pass, she's genuine, she makes sure everything is do-able even for the lazy kids, if you fail, that's on you.
Professor Ramsier is a HIGHLY recommended teacher to choose for SLS! She helps you in anything you need assistant with!Just make an appointment with her and be on time! Responds to every email in the same day. Not like other's might say. Final exam is a final project, and she makes it in a fun way to do it.
Expect: 3 exams, 4 journal checks, 4 big assignments, classwork everyday, 3 thank you letters, 1 debate, 10 service learning hours. The class is easy, just have a bit of time management and you're pretty much good.
I loved Professor Ramsier, she was always there when I needed help and she was really understanding. While the NSS class itself felt kind of unnecessary it really did help me and I would recommend Ramsier as the best professor to take it with. She is very clear with her expectations and if you put in the work you will get the grade you want.
Great professor teaching an easy class. Just show up, pay attention, do your work correctly, and you'll pass this class with an A. This class is to help you figure out your strengths are and what your purpose is. This will help you find a career field.
Professor Ramsier is a great professor. Writing assignments are easy, just follow the guidelines. About 10 easy quizzes in blackboard from textbook. Her assignments are very interesting and fun. They will definitely help you to fine your purpose, goal and career match. Do your assignments and you will get a good grade.
Didn't care for the class but the professor is caring and puts in effort to interact with every student. A lot more work than I expected but there is a lot of useful information you learn in the class. You have to do 5-8 min presentation for a final so be prepared and don't wait to the last minute. Gives extra credit.
Professor Ramsier is fantastic. She might come off a little tough but she is so nice and really cares for her students. She wants you to do well and if you are confused with anything she is always there for you if you need help understanding something. A lot of chapter quiz and little essays but they are easy! Go to class and read your book! TAKE!
She is a great professor but gives too much work. I received more work in her class than I did in my English Comp and College Mathematics course combined. Makes me not want to stay in college.
Although she does give a lot of work for what seems like an unimportant class, if you pay attention you'll note that a lot of what she throws at you is useful info. She comes off a little tough at first but she genuinely cares and wants the best for all her students. Overall a great professor and would take again.
easy class and an easy a. amazing professor I took her my freshman year and i still miss her i would definitely take her again. I know the class seems stupid but if you keep an open mind it really will help you discover who you are and what you want to be and that the whole pooint to the class anyways. she has awesome activities. love you!! -j
LOVED this prof, very helpful and understanding. Thought this class was going to be wack bc I knew what career I wanted, but it helped me developed a clear set of steps to achieve my goals, and learn more about myself and others (not in a boring way). Downside there are a few papers due (on average 1 or 2 pgs max) but grading is lenient.
By far the best teacher on this campous! Forms great relationships with the students on an individual basis. Sincerely works one on one to make sure your on track and you'll have all the tools you'll need. Funny, never gets bored to hear her speak. Great personality. The class itself is mandatory. Paperwork is a bit on the high side but easy.
Gives WAY too much work for the class it is. I did all the work and maintained an A throughout the course so laziness wasn't the problem. It's not hard work, its just a lot of unnecessary work. She also grades extremely tough for no reason. I would NOT take her if you want an easy A (as most likely everyone wants from an SLS class)
She is funny and she is a good professor. Classes are never boring, but there is way too many assignments. Everyone I know said the same thing about her. Some of them are really useful, but some of them are just there for you to have something to do EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Be prepared for a lot of due dates and assignments where you have to go to places
This review is for the Leadership Development Honors class. I don't think anyone has done a review for it so here is one from a student who does all his work! *Make sure to split up the reading in daily chunks so it's not bad at all and read the reading journal questions beforehand to know what to look for and get them done fairly easily!* :)
She's a great person. Although I was hating to take this mandatory class, it wasn't that bad in the end. She knows every single one of her students by name in the second week and develops relationships with the class which is pretty impressive. Lots of work, nothing too hard. I would recommend her with no doubts
She is a fantastic professor! Read some of the comments below and yes sls is going to be a lot of work regardless of the professor you take. The assignments are all mandotory because its required by Valencia. Professor explains every assignment so well and to the point. She grades very fast and responds to emails quickly. Definitely recommend her.
Saw someone else's review of this course and wanted to chime in. There is a lot of work, yes, but nothing unmanageable for an honors student. I received a 104% (A+). Lots of extra credit opportunities for you to take advantage of and the syllabus outlines all requirements. Ramsier is a great professor. Do your work and readings, and you'll be fine
This class was a lot of fun, and Professor Ramsier is an exceptional instructor! She really cares about the students, very funny, and helps you decide what path you want to take in your academic career. The grading criteria is very clear, she grades fairly, plenty of extra credit available, and gives plenty of reminders about due dates.
good teacher, she is really caring towards her students and provides information you can use for a lifetime. she answers any/all questions asked. her grading criteria is extremely clear, most of the assignments are fill in the blank.
Amazing teacher, very helpful, assignments are given but they are easy. Answers questions, fast email replies, very caring in your future education choices.
Professor Ramsier is a fantastic professor! She is very clear about what she expects, and very caring for everyone in her class. (by the third class day she had everyones names memorized) There is a lot of work, but when you come to class and pay attention... it really is an easy A. I highly recommend her as a professor. you will not regret it!!
Very caring, funny, and easy to talk to. She answers emails fast and her advising sessions are helpful. She is specific on what she wants to be done for each assignment. I would recommend looking at the rubric. Although sometimes she grades tougher than the rubric she made. She does give a lot of assignments but she makes exceptions.
There's endless assignments, I had at least 2 things due every week for this class. Some of the work is helpful but it usually feels like busy work. If you never take the initiative to do the assignments she's not going to cater to you once your grade drops. She'll help you out if she knows you tried and if you consistently do the assignments.
Professor Ramsier is great! She makes SLS an actually interesting class due to her passion for the subject. Class is formatted simply, it has a lot of tedious assignments but they all have an underlying purpose. By far, the best option for SLS as she really takes the time to get to know students individually and help them succeed in college.
I love her, she made Valencia so easy for me. AMAZINGGGG she worked with me several times she helped make my schedule for my whole time in Valencia. She also sat with me and looked up my major and found classes I could take while being at Valencia. She gives amazing homework that is worth doing I promise.
Leadership track honors students, class is required by Prof Ramsier does a good job of trying to make the coursework and curriculum relevant. Exams are take home, there's A LOT of writing assignments (journals, service learning reflection, biography project, etc.), and 10 hours of service learning. She's an amazing educator, it's just an eh class.
Professor Ramsier is a great professor. The problem with this professor is that she asks for too much. There are so many papers that you have to write for this class, you have to conduct a leadership interview and lastly, you have to do 10 hours of service learning. She takes points off for the most ridiculous things on your paper.
Everyone should take her class! You will grow as a person and as a leader if you put in the effort. Her class was a joy to participate in; I can not say enough great things about her. You must do the readings and the assignments, but she works with her students and is easily accessible. One great feature of her class was the great class activities!
Great professor & favorite class. I recommend taking SLS as soon as possible (freshman), if you take it later, you'll regret it. Professor Ramsier was very caring for each students needs and was always willing to help. Many times she went out of her way to assist me. The class was work-heavy but fun! Time management & prioritizing is necessary.
There's a lot of work but it's simple and the professor did most of it in class together to make sure everyone understands it. She takes the time to explain things, she makes individual videos for every student to give them feedback on how to improve, and she's very organized. She genuinely cares about all of her students and is very helpful.
Professor Ramsier does like to talk a lot, but she is super helpful and she wants to make sure you pass. She assigns LOTS of extra credit, so if you work hard you can get an easy A. Make sure you have time management, easy papers due every week, so make sure you turn them in on time. If you don't, it's ok; tell her and she will let you submit later
I took her for an honors class and This lady is by far the most best professor. She truly cares about your grades and her doors are always open for questions not only for her class but for anything with school or life. I have a ton of respect for her. Trust me you will NOT regret taking her. She is always smiling and keeping the class entertained.
OMGG I love Professor Ramiser. She made everything soo easy and if you don't pass her class with a B or higher then that would be your fault. SHe couldn't make that class any simpler. she cares so much about your grades not only in her class but all of your classes. Barley have any tests. Just hw assignments, lectures are funny and entertaining.
I will miss Prof Ramsier, she made my first semester so great! Her class is easy if you pay attention and put in the effort to complete your work. She offers ALOT of extra credit opportunities. You will complete a lot of homework and work through modules, but its fairly simple, dont be lazy! Your final is a presentation. She was so helpful!
There is a LOT of homework and time consuming. She is very fair with grading and understands technical issues etc so you can hand things in late and all be fine. Class is informative and easy going most work is done out of class but sometimes you have class time on bigger projects. Loads of extra credit. If you put in the time you will get an A
she is awesome! her class is interesting and she makes everything easy. I recommend reading the book before her classes.
She's very interactive with everyone it's never a dull moment with her. She makes me feel very comfortable to ask her something if I don't understand. There's also lots of extra credit opportunities, the homework is very easy as well. But there are a lot of activities so if your someone who likes to skip you shouldn't take her class.
I don't understand. I went on rate my professor and saw that she was a "great" teacher. She is not. Do yourself a favor and DONT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER. She hands out weekly assignments that take 2 hours to complete. The the next day in class, she gives us a quiz to "see where we are at" but she grades it. No lectures, no actual teaching.
Prof. Ramsier is by far the best Professor I've ever had. I have been going to Valencia for over a year now and I haven't met many professors like her. She really cares about her students and gives plenty of extra credit. We are at the end of the term and I have a 103% in her class. She is amazing and I highly recommend taking any POS course w/her.
You will have a lot of interesting assignments. No pop quizzes, no tests, no reading a book, and almost all of your work you can do at home. She is an easy grader and gives you a lot of extra credit opportunities. Class is very helpful for every student, and this professor is very caring.
She's nice and caring. There's a chapter quiz/module due every Sunday, extra credit is given which is great, there are discussion boards to every chapter with 3 responses to peers, book is needed, and there are 2 tests and a final both short-essay questions. Grading on test is harsh and this is not the easiest class. Not lenient on late work.
She was okay. The class wasn't so difficult but had a lot of assignments to it. She was a little strict on discussions. She gives good feedback when we do them though. She is a solid choice for POS2041 as she knows what she is talking about. If you do take her, just try not to fall behind and stay ahead of due dates.
After providing guidance on graded assignments she forgets the instructions she passed on. Once I was writing my exam which she allowed to reference the textbook and presentation. Once graded, she faulted me for citing those same exact sources she mentioned. Got a D.
I loved this class and Professor Ramsier! She is extremely smart and her lectures are very helpful. The class is not easy, you will need to do your homework and watch the lectures, but she wants you to succeed and is quick to respond with any concerns or questions. Her tests are open book so take good notes and you will be fine.
Professor Ramiser is a very good professor. You can tell she is a very dedicated teacher and loves what she does, if you just pay attention to her videos, you will pass every exam and you will be set for everything else. The textbook is an up to date textbook and shows current events in the world so it will be interesting.
The are many assignments so make sure to not procrastinate. Discussions for every chapter which may seem bothersome but are really helpful for learning content. Professor Ramsier also provides video for each chapters that clearly explain the content.
I am a little late to this. I took her class in fall 2020, but want to review to help others. There is about 3 assignments due every week, 3 tests all essay questions. This class is definitely an easy class, all the answers you can find in the book, but it is much easier if you just have the online book read the chapters out loud. LOTS OF EXTRA CDT
Wonderful teacher. Took 2 of her classes for different credits. Always gets back to me and even reaches out when I have not done an assignment that is due soon. Best teacher I have ever had in college. If your taking POS 2041 or 2112 Take her!!
Their are DBAs due every week, she gives you a lot of extra credit opportunities, and gives feedback on what you can improve on the next assignment.
I would say that this class isnt hard but there is many assignments. We had a discussion board every week and had to complete assignments based on the textbook readings. She does offer extra credit though and creates videos on each chapter to help with your understanding. The tests consists of many multi choice and open ended questions so STUDY!
Prof. Ramsier is one of the best professors I ever had. The class consists of 3 Exams (Summer), Discussion Boards, Video Lectures and MindTap Labs, a LOT of extra credit opportunities. During this class, I had to deal with some personal issues; however Prof. Ramsier was very understanding and supportive all time. Stop researching, just TAKE HER!
Professor Ramsier definitely challenged me in this class with her exams, this is because the questions are custom made. However, if you pay attention to her video lectures and actually read for comprehension in the chapters assigned, then you will do great. It has been my most challenging class in my college journey but definitely my most enjoyable
perhaps my standards are high for my first semester in college but she was just meh. you have 2 mindtap assignments, a quiz, and a discussion post each week. a test every three or so chapters (3 total). use quizlet! she has a lot of extra credit opportunities. i read 6-10 pages of the textbook a day to keep up. critical grader and grammar police.
Easy if you actually read the textbook. 3 textbook assignments a week (all on Quizlet), a discussion almost every week (decently easy but take time), and 3 total exams (super difficult, none are online). About 4 extra credits. I got C's on the exams but aced all else and did extra credits to get a 99%. She's nice, but so many videos to watch.
Don't overthink; just choose her. Great professor, you will actually learn something.
She is a nice professor. There are mindtap assignments every week but they are very easy as long as you read the textbook. The tests can be difficult if you don't study in advance but they are open book so if you forget a few things it's okay. She also gives out extra credit occasionally which is nice.
This Professor was pretty easy even if I hate Government she made it alright. She gave quite a few extra credit opportunities, there are weekly mindtap assignments (3) the quizzes were alright if you studied and used the online book or physical book. You can use your notes for all the exams and she gives exam corrections as well for half points.
Her grading system wasn't the best but overall, a pretty good class.
Tough grader. You're gonna have to do a lot of self-learning.
Professor Ramsier is a very very strict grader. Do not waste your time taking this class. She also gives lots of work every week that is difficult and complicated.
It is not an easy class. Don't pick her if you don't like to do too much work. You learn a lot in this class, but she leaves a lot of assignments and homework. Also, she makes some long videos of herself talking, and you have to see them. She is a though grader.
She is a very tough grader. Assignments I don't even understand. She sends lots of homework. I would say 5 assignments per week. She does long lecture videos which can be annoying to watch. If you really focus, and are a good online learner then take it at your own risk. Super hard class with hard topic because state and local gvt is heavy subject
Do NOT take this professor. She is terrible, she expects you to study the whole entire textbook like the back of your hand. Be aware that this class will take a lot of time, so if you think it's going to be a cupcake class, It won't. She has found a way to make it the most miserable class I have ever taken.
This professor is awful. She is not constant in her feedback and grading. She will give a terrible grade for quality work just because she disagrees with your writing style. Warning do not take any class with this professor. Worst professor I have ever had at Valencia. She does not care about her students.
Horrible professor. Not exaggerating. She grades with unrealistic expectations. We are not advanced-level students, and she shouldn't grade as such. Even on assignments with adequate responses and evidence, I would never get the full points. I was a straight A student before this. I would save yourself the trouble and choose a different professor!
DON'T TAKE HER. Very tough grader, which will take points off from your activities just because of minimum details. You may follow the instructions, give a good analysis, do what you were asked to do, and she may take your points off just because she disagrees with one of your analysis points (not because you did wrong) or misplaced a comma.
I'm being serious; she grades based on her personal opinion more than the rubric itself and finds any minimum detail from your work to remove points. Another negative thing about this professor is her feedback; instead of trying to support you to do things better, she comes at you and puts you down for a mistake you may commit in her activities.
A professor's point is to help her students to LEARN and become better, not to be rude to them just because they are struggling with an activity or even a single instruction.
Only take her if she's your only option. I'm an A student who gave my best effort to get an A in this class and had a B. I always have gotten an A in every social science class I have taken since Middle School, and this summer, that streak was cut by this "wonderful" teacher and her questionable grading criteria.
Prof Heather Ramsier is tough. Prepare to read a lot during the week because the book is mandatory. The questions in quizzes are very specific and timed, make sure you read everything to know the answer. The analyses are long and she uses videos that are not too easy to comprehend. If you look for a regular class this is not the place. Study a lot.
This is not the professor for you if you are looking for an easy class. Ramsier is an honors professor and tends to treat her regular classes that way. The quizzes are timed so make sure you have read the material previously; attendance is a grade. Overall, a challenging class but if you put effort into the class you should end up with an A.
Part 1: Had in class discussion/lecture with current events and went over the chapter of the week. Had videos that you "need" to watch till the end and you cannot skip them. 1 "detailed" discussion post per week with "required" replies. Discussion posts must be thorough and detailed. And 1 chapter quiz per week which is open book.
Part 2: She offers "LOTS" of extra credit. And they are very easy. Up to 50 points (10 per event) for attending on campus workshop which counted for 10 points if you just attended. Lots of extra credit assignments, that weren't short, but not too long. If you do the extra credit, you can easily end the class with an A. If you take her, DO THESE.
Don't take this professor she is rude towards students when they give an opinion that doesn't align with hers. Grades class assignments by picking apart your logic. Doesn't truly teach the material you have to teach yourself.
Professor Ramsier is a good professor, she just assigns a couple of things throughout the week. Discussions can be somewhat of a hassle as you have to respond back to peers after they respond to you, but the class is fairly easy so keep up with the work and you'll be fine.
Professor Ramsier's POS2041 class is challenging but rewarding. Lots of extra credit opportunities and helpful tools like Unstuck AI make it manageable if you're willing to put in the work.
She takes this way too seriously as a class that is required by ron desantis yet has nothing to do with most of our careers. DO NOT take if youre looking for an easy A. Lots of homework and she knit picks all of your writing especially on discussion boards. Dropped and will never take her again. Only plus is you dont have to buy a textbook.
She's a very grader you will fail this class if you don't want to teach yourself. You go in person to learn about what you tested on last week. You really have to talk to her after class to understand what's going on. She takes up every second in class even if she's done teaching for the day.
INR 2002 is the class I took. She is a nitpicky grader but helps if you have any questions, answers emails quickly, and holds Zoom sessions. 4-5 assignments per week so READ the txtbk. There is a final research paper, offers plenty help. Quizzes are timed. The assignments you can get done so take this class if you're poli-sci, it's very rewarding
This professor focuses way too much on grammar, formatting, and citations. She constantly nitpicks small details and ignores the quality or thought behind your work. She's quick to accuse students of using ChatGPT. The class feels more like an English course. Easily one of the most frustrating and discouraging classes EVER. Would not recommend!
Professor Ramsier gave my class about 4-5 assignments a week. One chapter is read each week for a book. There is a quiz on the chapter on Sunday and a video for it. PLEASE DO THE VIDEO AND TAKE NOTES WHILE WATCHING. The class gets easier near the end, where there is extra credit and less videos. DO THE DISCUSSION BOARDS AHEAD OF TIME, ONE PER WEEK.
This professor is genuinely one of the worst professors. Each week she does a video on the chapter but the videos are from 2023. She takes several weeks to grade a singular discussion board. She is also super nitpicky. If you do a discussion perfectly she will find a way to call you incompetent and dock points. I would write more but out of words.
