Heather is a nice teacher that really cares about her students and helping them succeed. That said this is a VERY HARD class and the tests are VERY HARD and confusing at times. She is a new teacher and grades on a curve. She gives "quizzes" that usually want to know how she can teach better or help us learn. Just be open and honest with her.

Dr. Seitz is very knowledgeable; her lectures are clear and helpful for exams. Online hw is easy points, quizzes aren't bad and the discussion posts, although done in group format which is a little awkward to work with, aren't bad either. Exams are pretty hard and I don't feel like the study guides are thorough, but easy hw and EC balance it out.

Study guides DO NOT match up with exam! Exams are very difficult due to the material not matching up to the given study material. Professor offers extra credit but it barely helps with keeping your grade above sinking. Many students I talked to in the online class struggled with the exams. Discuss exam frustrations with the professor.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. She deserves to be working in a lab, not teaching. She does not teach well at all, she just expects you to already know what she is supposed to be teaching you. Cancels class and next class period says, "We have a pop EXAM today, but you should know the material". Very smart biologist, just belongs in a lab working.

She is passionate about biology and teaching, but tests are nothing like the study guides and they ask information which is irrelevant to what she asks you to study (study guide). She is not too understanding either. The topic readiness resources she creates do help. You will need to fill out the topic study guides and study each topic thoroughly.

Shes alright. I wish I got a better teacher because I noticed that some of these teachers make these classes harder than they need to be for no reason. Wish I got the grade I wanted after working so hard but even after communicating with her I got nothing. :(

Microbiology isn't designed to be an easy class, and this really wasn't bad until you get to the tests. The quizzes are fine, as long as you watched the 25-50 min lecture video beforehand. The tests were tough. 4 tests, she did provide study guides, except for test 4, but they were really not similar to the test at all. Other than that not terrible

I did not find her lectures helpful at all and I have a traditional learning style. Her exams do not follow the study guides as they are so broad and her exam questions are very specific. Luckily she offers a ton of extra credit which is the only reason I got an A. Overall I came out knowing nothing about the subject because of her teaching style.

I've been going to JCCC for yrs and this is the worst professor I've ever had. She is a big believer in tactile learning, there are very few lectures and everything is interactive. Get ready to read and do your own research to understand the material. Doesn't answer Q's clearly and grades significantly harder as the semester goes on. Do all the EC.

This is literally the worst college professor I've ever had. She is very unorganized and difficult to get ahold of. I have had to email her several times to ask her to post assignments so I could get them done on time. Her study guides are very broad and exams are completely off the wall difficult so the study guides are essentially useless.

Believe all the critical reviews. She is unclear. Study guide is useless and broad. I only got a good grade because of extra credit/work. Hard to get ahold of. I studied my butt off, but the exams don't go with her study guide. Lectures don't explain much. You have to put concepts together on your own. I couldn't believe Majority were failing tests

She isn't good at explaining topics & assignments, and she wasn't the greatest at replying to emails. For each chapter she makes a study guide that should have all the content for the next test. Don't even look at the study guide, it will confuse you more. Ive never experienced a less clear/detailed study guide. Her main issue is communication.

She gave us good feedback, bunches of home Lab( some lab took over a week, so be prepared) she is also very understanding owhat tlife behind the class. She gave us extra credit opportunities. I love her videos. Quiz and exam were not too hard if you study! Ebook was useful also! highly recommended!

The study guides that she provides give little to no indication of what is actually on the exam. Her expectations are unclear and her lecture videos give the bare minimum. Expect to teach yourself. Do all of the extra credit work. She also does not respond to emails. I have never had to deal with this kind of negligence from a college professor.

This professor is awful. Hard exams that aren’t related to the study guide. DOES NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS. There’s pointless group projects where you lose points you deserve. The average for tests is barely 50% Dont expect much if you value your mental health. There’s extra credit but it barely helps. I wish I could rate her a zero.

Its a shame that there are no lecture videos for this class when it is online. You will have to try to understand all of the information from a PDF. She does give retakes for exams which is helpful. Just not the best organized class. She's not quick to respond to emails, but is nice. Lecture and lab don't line up so that is no help.
