Professor Silvis is a great instructor. She truly cares for all of her students and wants everyone to success in her class. I am a very shy and anxious person and I was able to successfully complete all of my speeches because of the judgment free atmosphere she provides for all of her students. I highly recommend Professor Silvis.

Mrs. Silvis cares for her students. Show up, follow your rubrics, do your homework. She is compassionate and genuine. Shes not hard to pass, as long as you do your part.

Very respectable professor, very funny and very open- she will help you out with any personal issue as well as give you a straight road to how you can pass the class. Takes attendance every class but gives credit to those who dont skip. Very easy tests. Lots of public speaking (which is to be expected) but very easy A if you try.

Do exactly what Professor Silvis tells you to do and there is no way you can fail this course. Even if you are afraid of public speaking! I was too and she helped so much. She is super funny, knows her stuff, and gives great feedback on what you can do for your next speech. Also gives plenty of opportunities for make ups and extra credit.

Really good professor who takes the time and patience to help each student. Grading may seem harsh but great feedback which allows to fix the problem. Overall great class!

This class, was a lot of fun and there was never a dull moment. Make sure you do speeches on time it can hurt you in the long run, take the time to do extra credit opportunities, they are worth it.

Professor Silvis is a great teacher with awesome classes. She provides great feedback after large projects explaining where we did well or why we lost points. She also provides plenty of extra credit throughout the year.

Class goes by super fast. Be ready for your speech time. Do not be afraid. 5 minutes is not long enough to be so scared. Have fun. If I could take this class again. I would but I got an A in this class. I wish I could take another class with this professor.

She's a little hard at the beginning but by the end it is going to be easy. She times everything great that by the time that the other classes are piling up her class does not interfere with those.

She is such an inspirational person. The class can be difficult if you do not go to class, but if you show up, the class will be much easier. This class was one of the best classes Ive ever had.

Attendance is pretty mandatory, but she makes the class fun so you will want to be here, forsure my favorite professor and class! Would recommend to anyone in need of inspiration & allows up to 100 points extra credit! very helpful

I believe that she is a really good teacher for Group Speech I would highly recommend you take her class if you need the course and it is sad that I was limited to three tags for more tags would fit her then is allowed.

Professor Silvis is an overall great person to be around. She does anything in her power to help you pass the class, its just up to the student to put in the work. She made getting up in front of a class a lot more enjoyable. Remember not to skip any assignments and you will definitely pass with an easy A.

if you don't like to speak on your own then you should def take group discussion. at first this class may seem like its too much to handle and might want to drop it, but don't. just stay on top of everything and turn everything in and you'll for sure pass the class. also, she gives a lot of extra credit so there's no reason to not pass this class.

She was a very good professor. Her assignments where very clear and not difficult as long as you have a good group. Having a bad group can really hurt your grade so be sure to group with people who will be willing to work hard.

Mrs. Silvis is a fun teacher and made this class more enjoyable. The hardest part about this class is the group work, but the assignments are clear and for the most part easy. This isn't for the people who are lazy, and if you hate group work, you might not want to take this class, unless you want to become better at public speaking and group work.

I took Group Discussion with Professor Silvis. She's a great professor and is always willing to help with anything. Be prepared to work in a group the whole semester! A lot of group projects and group graded assignments. Through it all, Professor Silvis will guide you through each assignment.

Professor Silvis is a great instructor, I highly recommend. She is funny, and genuinely cares for her students. She is not a strict teacher, so as long as you prepare for anything that is upcoming, you should be able to pass everything. It is easy to pass with an A, or B, just do all your work, and some extra credit here and there.

She is a wonderful teacher. She is cool. If you do all your assignments and do extra credit you can pass this. If you love working in groups this class is for you. Trust me if I passed this class you can too.

Mrs. Silvis is a truly inspiring person with a vast knowledge that she lays on us. While being very educational, she is incredibly hilarious and has a very "don't care what I say attitude" which I admire in people, so this was right up my alley. If I could fail this class to take it with Mrs. Silvis again, I would. That's how much I appreciate her.

Easy class.

As long as you show up and turn in all of the assignments you will pass. Do not miss speech days because those are very important. Professor Silvis follows the syllabus so you should know what is going on each day but attendance is very important. I thoroughly enjoyed taking this course with her and definitely recommend her class to everyone.

Professor Silvis is a caring and compassionate professor who will help you with any problems you may have, in and out of the classroom. Participation matters, as much of the work is done in class, and you need to show up or you won't be able to pass. But if you come to class and participate,. you will have no problem passing this class.

She made public speaking fun even for me who hates public speaking. Follow the guidelines and feed back that she provides and you will pass her class.

Theres very few people you will come across that will leave an imprint on your life and Heather is one of them. Teaches you to grow as a student and as a person.

Silvis is a chill professor, she talks a lot though but her stories are usually always good to hear. She really makes public speaking not as scary. As long as you show up and do the work youll pass. Her grading scale is a 7 point based system.

Prof. Silvis grades on a 7 point scale which at first I was skeptical about but she give the chance for a lot of extra credit. Ms. Silvis is understanding but does not tolerate missing class or not doing assignments. She is a great professor and gives lots of details and will answer any questions you will have.

Great Class! She makes speech fun. Hilarious & relatable.

She is reasonable if youre reasonable. The rubrics for the speeches are a little confusing, but, I went from a F to an A in two and a half weeks by the extra credit assignments. Also, there are a couple of higher level scoring speeches that really helped my grade.

Heather was one of my favorite professors. She makes the class fun and she makes you want to show up so you dont miss out on her stories. I would definitely take her class again.

A fantastic teacher! She wants you to pass her class more than you want to pass the class. I had her for speech, as long as you show up and do what youre supposed to, you will pass easily. She allows late work and if youre failing, she will work very hard to get you back to a passing grade. If you dont pass her class, school isnt for you!
