I'm not a psy major but I had to take this class for requirement and I'm glad I did. A top notch teacher like the others said. She explains what's expected and she is very fair. I liked the activites we did and passed a couple of them on to my girlfriend who thought they were pretty cool too.

Took the summer class and it was extremely good! Quizzes on every chspter but you go over them 1st in class. Really helped me remember the information this way. Professor Heather is awesome. Knows her stuff and kept the class awake in a 4 hr class. Probably one of the best Ive had!

Heather is amazing. My only complaint would be her lack of in depth explanation on anything. She keeps her class interesting, but its more of a self exploration than a psychology class. Regardless, this class was fun and she is a wonderful woman.

My favorite class ever! We did learn about ourselves for sure but we learned a lot about psychology too. Attachment theory was my favorite and all the activities babies need for their brains. If I had to sit through some boring lecture I would have died!

heather has a love for teaching that affects everyone around her. This class is atypical in every way. No exams, one big presentation (that wasn't bad at all) and a ton of writing (which wasn't bad either).The journals were actually really helpful with my stress management levels. Thanks Heather! I honestly can't put into words just how interesting and fun this class was. Heather is an amazing professor who is not only well educated, but loves the subject she teaches. I don't know where else you can go to get a psychology lesson, a philosophical conversation, and a Yoga practice, all fit perfectly into two hours.

You have to give a 2 minute presentation on a chapter that relates to your life which I loved hearing others stories. Also there is a quiz on every ch. and 5 papers but dont worry they are short and not too bad. Until you take this teacher yourself nobody can express just how awesome she is. Do yourself a favor and try to get into her class.

I have to say this professor is one of the few left who really cares about student success and she is very fair. She won't accept late papers but she is willing to help out students and meet them halfway as much as possible. Professor Valle does not miss any details when it comes to teaching and motivating. she makes the class extremely comfortable to share stories. The work is easy if you listen, study, and write. She has your best interest in mind and education. I recommend having her as a teacher because she is worth the work. And she's a comedian in a scholar.

This teacher changes your life…for the better! Take her! There aren’t many teachers like her around. I use so much from her class in my life. The workload seemed a lot at forst but once you get into it, it’s useful and I had no problem keeping up. You have a paper due every week and the points add up so stay on top of those.

Heather is, hands down, the greatest professor i've ever had. Not only does she provide help to her best ability, she is HILARIOUS. Heather is one of the happiest people I know. She is unafraid to make a fool out of herself in order to help students learn better. Every time I go to her class, I come out feeling inspired. Very few, if any students have dropped, at the end of the semester there are still not enough seats in the classroom. She makes me proud to be at my college.

If you dont take Peace psyc you are missing out!! My eyes became open since day 1 of class about global issues and how peace is possible and also why people resort to violence. There is a lot of writing in this class and a lot of work like the the posterboard project but its actually interesting you will be amazed. Thank you Heather!!

She gives you reading assignments & you must write the papers. She gives you the chance to express what you think through & by way of experiences. Pretty funny and VERY Compassionate!!!!!!!

Heather has been mentor to me and other students, and theres not enough words to describe how much she cares about students!! She always says how much she loves her job but its all of us who love HER! She helped me be a better student and a better person. I dont write on here normally but do use it to check out teachers so thought Id give back to the next person. The workload was heavy for me to keep up working 30 hours a week plus school so dont take if you dont have time for the homework. Alot of writing and reading. As a teacher she is great. Good personality and you can relate to her.

Heather helped me figure out my major and booked a tour for a group of us students to chico state. It was amazing! She doesnt force her opinions on you and always says take what you like and leave the rest which has helped me with sooo much in my life. Great class and information I can use.

I have taken 3 classes with Heather now and as far as taking psychology, I plan to take more with her. She does give a lot of work so thats true but nothing you cant handle. Shes reasonable and gives group exams. She grades everything fast and its like she takes the lectures and makes them one part life lesson and one part comedy. Take her!

Great teacher! I enjoyed the class, there are pop quizzes which you get to take as a group. There's also a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation, you'll do fine even if you don't present for 10 minutes (add a YouTube video you can talk about and that will eat up some of your time). If you show up it's an easy A! Very understanding teacher.

When I saw that Heather had 100% approval rating I was like, well duh! She is seriously fabulous. I loved her classes so much that if I ever skipped another class I would still show up to hers. She is such a ray of sunshine and truly inspirational. And she treats your like a real person, sometimes life comes up and she is so realistic. Loved her.

She is very sweet and there are 3 weekly assignments, quizzes are easy. Great class, there is a lot of reading but all very interesting.

Heather is what you would call Extraordinary and Amazing. It is nearly impossible to fail unless you want too. There is a decent amount of reading and lecture. You are able to take the exams in pairs. The test's are difficult, unless you are present for lecture and read the material presented. Extra Credit is available.

If you are a nursing major and you have the option of taking CDF 14 or PSY 15, take this class! I took this online while taking Chemistry, Statistics, and Physiology, and this class did not add any real extra load to my workload like the their courses! No exams. Weekly quizzes, journal entries, and group posts. Final is a 1200 word paper.

Heather is by far one of the best teachers at Butte. She cares so deeply about her students and it's obvious she loves what she teaches. It's important to be in class because she does cover a lot in PowerPoints and gives extra information not found on Canvas sometimes. Very upbeat. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an interesting class!

Great teacher, although this particular class was in online her personality and style was just as present as if it was a classroom class. classwork is outlines, offered different levels of extra credit, and pushed for no book but instead had us go to a free book website as well as post our reading in the modules! i thought the exams were pretty tough but its college. The student games were my favorite. Shes probably the best teacher Ive had at butte. She does make you think. Shes real but very very funny at times.

Read, follow grading criteria, do work, quizzes are timed and long, print out the reading and look back over them quickly to do well on quizzes. She's pleasant.

I really wish I could have taken Heather's class in-person -- she's such a positive and vibrant personality that she really brings this subject matter to life. For online, it was a lot of reading, journals, and group posts. The final was a paper. Easy A if you put in the work. She is very generous in her grading.

Fun, easy, and educational class. The only homework is a group project where you present a game related to your chosen topic, and at the end of the semester a paper where you interview someone and discuss where they are in their lifespan development. There are 3 tests, which can be taken with a partner. And there isn't a final.

Amazing! Most online classes are boring or not organized but this class was the best Ive had ever. Heather is hilarious, caring, smart, knows her stuff but makes you work for your grade. Dont worry youll be fine if you do the assignments. Make sure to quote the book in the journals or youll miss points. Final paper was actually fun!

GREAT class! Everything is organized so no searching and clicking all over trying to find things. You can tell she knows what shes doing. Group posts, weekly essay and quiz then a final paper at the end that Im saving forever because its like a life review. Loved the whole class. Take her for anything she teaches!

Heather is an amazing professor! I took her fast track PSY15 course and it was very easy! Just stay on top of your work and it's an easy A :) Final is an essay and the homework isn't too difficult. She replies quickly to emails and gives clear answers to your questions. Definitely would take her again!

Her syllabus makes her seem strict but her class is pretty enjoyable even in an online environment. Textbook was free and provided, same type of assignments due every week on the same days which was really nice. Don't know how much leeway is given for things like illness or emergencies, but there was some extra credit available if your grade slips.

Valle is super passionate about psychology! She really shows how much she cares and does not assign too much homework. She just has a journal, discussion, and quiz due each week. Not super hard at all. A good communicator. She does not usually accept late work so turn your homework in on time and you're fine! Allows two attempts at quizzes.

This class changed everything for me. I learned sooooooo much about why I see life the way I do and where I was stuck. Attachment Theory was my favorite and she assigns homework that actually improves your life. Sorry if some people don't like to read but there are videos and photos and all kinds of good things in the class. Definitely recommend!!!

Heather was incredibly nice! I took the class asynchronously and it was really interesting. Just make sure that you do all the reading and almost all of the assignments are easy. She's really nice and will work with you to make sure that your grades are good. As long as you don't procrastinate, a very easy A and you learn a lot from the modules!

Ms. Valle had this way of making you believe in yourself. She had high expectations and it made a difference. She's brave too always pushing us to think deeper about everything-life, our futures, everything. Ms. Valle changed me. Made me see what I'm capable of.
