She is very nice, you can get whatever help from her. And you can get some snacks from her class too. Go to the office hour, it's very helpful
she is very kind woman. She is relly responsible for her students, especially for their paper correcting.
can't love her more !!! She is super nice and super helpful! If u think her class is hard, u r insane !
she is really nice. she gave students more change tpo do better and help students how to improve to write. Also we got more writing in her class. Finally She is nice person. Enjoy her class and office hours. office hours are really helpful.
She is an angel living in this world. She literally treats you as her own children and you never realize how time passes in her class. She always gives you second chances to review your papers and always gives you helpful comments. I can't imagine of better professor
she is amazing and I was very lucky to have her :)Her teaching strategies are very effective. She is very confident and knowledgeable. I learned a lot.... TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shes so annoying. I mean shes nice but she changes the assignments everyday and she contradicts herself all the time. The class is easy but shes annoying.
Amazing professor but sometimes disorganized. She is always willing to help you with your writing. She will help you develop your writing technics. Anyway, she is a very good teacher but need to improve her clarity.
The professor is a super nice person. Just choose her, or you will regret!
Dr. Heba is the best professor especially for someone who has language problems. She can understand you and help you no matter who you are or what your problem is. Sometimes, it is a little bit confusing that she changes her mind a bit, overall, she's the perfect professor. She is masterly skilled to help you how to generate your own idea.
She is the most helpful professor in the entire writing department, no doubt about it. If you demonstrate you are willing to work hard for her, she will work hard for you going beyond anything any other professor would; all just for your learning. She is simply AMAZING!
the MOST helpful professor at Rutgers. Super nice, gives amazing feedback, is actually willing to help her students do good in expos. Def take her if possible. Love her to bits!!!
I just don't like the way she is teaching. She makes the writing skills so confused.
I don't know what bothers her so much this semester but she's always late for our class. You spent 9 or 10 hours on the paper and she won't even read it through. She will give feedbacks that misinterpret your main idea and ask you to revise ideas according to the quote(instead of adjusting quotes)She also tend to lose focus on the topic on class.
Dr.Haba is very nice. She repeats important points over and over again in your every practice to train you in a habit of organized writing. Although I felt it was hard along the way, I did learn a lot writing skills in her class . Get inspired from her feedback and put more effort after class to get a good grade!
Honestly, I don't like writing, but Dr. Heba is really a nice person and always willing to help her students. My friend recommended her to me and I feel lucky that I chose her!Thank you Dr. Heba~
The best professor i have ever had, i hate writing but the most helpful professor you can find in the entire rutgers
The best teacher at Rutgers working in the English department, she really cares and sacrifices her own time to improve your paper. She will make sue you understand the text. She corrects you and gives you constructive feedback and teaches you how to think critically and analyze. The best teacher ever. AK
great professor
She is the best professor in English department. She makes what is expected in your paper very clear and would spend an hour reading and fixing your paper. She treats everyone in her class as her own child and with her extraordinary patience, writing is not as hard as you think.
Dr. Heba is the one of the most helpful and nicest professor at Rutgers. She is always willing to help out, inout class. She literally tells what she wants in the essays, and makes the topics lots easier for students to understand. If you want to really improve your writing skills, take her. She is always there for her students, evenon weekend
She always give students clear and useful comments on their paper and patient to help them improve their papers
The best Professor I have ever met.
She is definitely the greatest professor I've ever working with. Go TO OFFICE HOURS, u will learn a lot! She does not only work on the current paper but also help u to become a better writer so that u may be also capable of passing basic and expos. And of course, she is really a GOOD GRADER! (which matters, right?)
She really can inspire her students, and help them in writing, critical thinking, even guiding their life paths.
Dr. Heba is so helpful and nice. She gives inspirational feedbacks and conferences. Her lectures in the class are so impressed and not only relate to the readings, but also contain her own knowledge. I learned a lot from her. If you pay attention to her commons and make the essay logical and straight to the point, you can definitely get good grade.
Dr. Heba is a best professor I had ever met !! she helps students to developed their own ideas . She always give students clear and useful comments ! GO TO OFFICE HOURS !
She is the best professor that I have met. She will give you more suggestions to improve your writing skills. I learn a lot from her, not just in class. She is the best if you want to study writing.
She gave her students a lot of ideas and she encouraged us.
She the best teacher I ever had in my life. She cares for her students. Always there for you and even go off her limits to help every students, even after passing the class she is there to help you out. She made the class interesting. Just listen to her and take notes of what she's saying and you'll pass the class with a very good grade.
Professor Elkhateeb is a very nice and patient teacher. Every time I try to talk with her about my essay she always inspire me a lot. I appreciate her work.
Dr. Heba is really nice and kind and she is alway willing to help everyone in the class. Her feedback and comments are really useful and clear. Without her, my essay cannot get improved. She is the best writing teacher that I have ever met.
Dr. Heba is very nice to her students. She is willing to do anything she can for students and tries her best to make students pass. The only thing that is annoying is her schedule is chaotic, so we are always confused about the paper deadline.
she is the best writing professor in Rutgers, if you want PASS the class, TAKE her class !!!!
She is best writing professor at Rutgers
Dr. Heba is the best professor I have ever met! I enjoyed her insights and learned a lot. She gives clear assignments , instructions, and feedback.
Dr. Heba is an excellent Professor! I enjoyed her insights and learned a lot. She gives clear assignments , instructions, and feedback.
Best Professor in the English Department! She is very nice and spends extra time and effort to help her students.
Professor Heba is the best professor in Rutgers. I enjoyed her class. She is very knowledgeable, and skilled.
Dr: Heba is the most amazing professor in the English Department at Rutgers. She is very inspirational, dynamic, and motivational. I have taken several writing courses before, but this is my best class and learning experience ever! Thank you, Dr. Heba, I have learned a lot!
Dr. Heba is one of the most inspiring and knowledgable professors I have ever met. Her lectures in class are so inspirational, and she does not only cover the textual readings but also shares her own knowledge and in-depth analysis. I love her interactive teaching approach. She also gives clear feedback and helpful students conferences.
First, she's always late for our class. Second, she won't even read your papers through. Third, she will give feedbacks that misinterpret your main idea and ask you to revise ideas according to the quotes. Also, She tends to teach nothing and doing meaningless peer reviews in class.
She never gives us enough time to read and write papers. Also, she always let us do the peer review instead of looking at our papers and giving us useful feedback. Her class does nothing to help me to improve my paper. She don't know how to manages class time. She always finishes the class late more than ten minutes. Her class is not interesting.
Professor Heba is a very smart, but strict professor. She expects ALOT from her students, so don't expect to slack off and earn a passing grade in her class. But she is so helpful, and also inspirational. Definitely recommend this professor!
I hate writing and English classes, but Professor Heba techniques of teaching were very useful and clear for me understanding this course. She's a nice teacher and the assignments are clear-cut and easy to complete. Best English class ever!
she is a really helpful teacher, she helps me finding quotes and connecting with a topic sentence. She is also really kind and careful to all students.
Dr. Heba is very nice to her students and she would actively help students improve their papers after class. As long as students work hard, they would get satisfying grades.
Dr. Heba is the best professor I have ever had! If you dont pass or earn a good grade, dont blame but your laziness. You must attend class on time, and be willing to work hard and actively participate in class.
Excellent professor! Dr. Heba is very inspirational, motivational, and punctual. She supports her students in and outside the classroom until they reach their highest potential. Get ready to read, write and participate in peer-reviews.
Great professor, very caring
Dr. Heba respects every idea her students write down in their essays. Shes caring and wants her students to do well in her class. But shes sooooo unorganized, we did peer review in basically over half of her classes in last semester. Its pretty easy to get a B+ in her class, but pretty pretty hard to get an A.
Her feedback is not timely. I wrote 5 papers in the whole semester but I only got 3 feedback on 3 papers. And she didn't gave feedback on rough draft.
Dr. Heba is actually inspirational and caring. We were so happy when she continued to teach our class last semester despite of her excruciating family circumstances. Shes by far the best teacher in the English department, and always gives us the best feedback.
She is an excellent professor who respects students a lot. She has magnitude value and positive views toward life. Thus her speaking was important for you to develop the paper. Follow her guide then you would get a good grade of class.
Dr. Heba is an excellent Professor! She is so inspiring and creative thinker. I learned a lot from her continuous feedback and support in and outside of class.
Dr. Heba is the best and the most inspirationa Professor I have seen. She shares her amazing interpretations of assigned readings with her students to teach them how to think creatively and critically to develop their independent positions. I greatly improved not only as a reader and writer but as a person- to reach the highest potential of myself.
Professor Elkhateeb is a lovely professor who wants to see you succeed! Contact her outside of class for any questions & concerns. Take all of her feedback into consideration when writing the essays. Do all the assignments (with all expectations met) & on time. Participate in class when she asks questions or for volunteers. Get to know her as well!
Dr. Heba is a great professor! Who's very responsible for her students. Her class is interesting. She helps her students pass exams and helps her student with their paper. She's doing as much as she can. I will definitlty take her again.
Great great professor. The most caring one I have ever had! I love her teaching style and the way she's taking concern for her students. She takes students as her children.
Good professor, learnt how to read articles after the class. Feel worth to take her class as basic 100. Recommended.
She is the best professor you can take for expos. 10/10 would rec commend. She will do everything in her power to make sure you get the best possible grade you can. Unlike other expos professors, she actually cares about her students. Very dedicated and passionate about what she does.
Best Expos Professor there is. She actually cares about her students and wants everyone to succedd. As long as you stay on top of your work and listen to her comments, you will easily pass the hardest course. Most caring professor there is. She wants everyone to do well. Highly recommend her!!
She is a UNFAIR grader. She gives points totally depended on her mood. She gave me two different grades on the same ope, and then she took the lower grade instead of the higher one. She never explains what she is looking for in the paper. She always gives useless comments. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.
Dr. Heba is a phenomenal human being; super caring & involved in her students lives but as a lecturer, it just didnt work for me. I felt like half the time we were doing busy group work & then she would randomly assign a paper on a poem. The class itself is not hard, minimal effort required but i dont feel like i learned anything from her class
Dr. Heba is an amazing and inspirational professor. I have taken all English writing courses at Rutgers, but her class was by far the best! We covered many English and American poems written by famous poets. I never knew how to analyze and close read a poem before, not to mention writing an analytical essay on a poem. I learned a lot from Dr. Heba!
Dr. Heba is an amazing professor. She is so nice and kind. She really cares about her students and want them to succeed. She worked hard to help their students and make them feel relax. Her lectures are very interesting. After taking her class, I have developed a lot of reading and writing skills. Take her class, if you want to learn something.
I took Poetry with Dr. Heba. I LOVED this class. This professor cares a lot about her students. She puts in so much time and consideration into this class. A decent amount of work was assigned, but it was all completely doable even with my premed classes. I genuinely enjoyed doing the assignments, I learned so much about poetry and life itself.
I LOVED Dr. Hebas class! She is an exceptional professor! She is a very FAIR grader and does not stress her students, but you MUST put the effort and participate in class. Great class, I highly recommend it!
Dr. Heba was an amazing professor! I took this class to fulfill the SAS requirement for writing and thought I would hate it because I hate writing, but Dr. Heba made it easy & fun. I'm not too much of a participator but as long as you show that you care about her class and want to do well, you'll do well in the class. Definitely recommend her!
The professor knows what she's and is always accessible. when I joined her class, i had no confidence that I can teach undergraduate classes myself but she boosts my confidence and helped alleviate all my worries. I learned so much from her that I go a second job offer after I finished teaching the first class successfully. She is an amazing teache
She is a respectful and caring professor. She wants to make sure every students have the appropriate teaching skills for their academic life. She will have regular individual meetings with every students to know they wish to learn from her class and then she can revise her teaching plans in time.
Prof. Heba is a really wonderful teacher. I learn how to write research papers and how to become a good teacher in the class, which helps me in my teaching and research. I also improve my presentation skill in this class. I suggest all TAs are supposed to take this course.
Dr. Heba taught me how to be an independent thinker! Through the engaging class discussions, we had on-weekly basis. Also the readings she selected were very interesting to me, motivated me to participate in class and generate my own ideas in my writings.
This Professor is absolutely amazing, I took an online course with her, with Zoom meetings Thursday which you have to attend as it is not only mandatory but also you learn a lot about the readings. You get to see ideas from other students and come up with your own ideas. The professor is also very engaging and deeply cares about her students.
Prof. use a great amount of teaching methods, including online meeting and discussing, canvas/google docs, active learning methods, scaffolding, bloom's taxonomy, to build a great education playground for students to realize their ideas and guide them to a higher level of thinking. She is a very good teacher and I'll learn with her next year.
She is super caring and nice towards her students. She takes the time to listen to her students and gives very good feedback She encourages her students to talk and give their own ideas. Make sure to go to her class, it helps you understand the reading more and come up with new ideas for essays. It might seem difficult at first, but it gets easier.
Disorganized class materials, lengthy announcements, and boring lectures with nonsense topics. Students easily get bored and will never attend the class afterward. Only half of the participants in the end. Never met such a terrible instructor! Also, she kept a close eye on your course survey and made sure you rate her 5. How weird she was!!!
Prof Heba is super caring towards her students. She's easily accessible and answers her emails very quickly. Expos is known to be a hard course but Prof Heba encouraged everyone and gave helpful feedback. The workload was manageable but you have to make sure to stay organized and on top on your assignments.
Dr. Heba and her Expository Writing class was very well organized and the class discussions very engaging and helped expand my ideas and developed original arguments. Without this class I would have never been able to write an argumentative paper at my fullest.
Dr. Heba is the best Professor I have ever had in my graduate education. She is extremely knowledgeable about the best practices in teaching and learning. She provides her teaching assistants with excellent pedagogical training and her lecture are amazing and inspirational!!! The class site is very organized and assignments are clear!!!
Prof. Heba is super caring and thoughtful to all her students. Her course design is so dynamic based on the current research in teacher professional training. Her lectures engage you in higher-order thinking but you must do the reading and research. Amazing Professor, Ill take her class next semester because there is so much to learn from her!
Dr. Heba is one of the best professors I've had. She helps you grow your writing skills and personal perspectives. She is a very fair grader who grades based on the rubric she provides, and makes sure that you receive the necessary feedback to improve your essays. I don't usually enjoy English classes, but she makes it enjoyable and worthwhile.
Professor Heba Elkhateeb is so enthusiastic about her teaching and course content. The topics and class materials she designs wont only prepare you to a competent teaching assistant but will promote your personal and professional growth! I really enjoyed our class discussions and research as she helped me to publish my first paper this semester!
Dr. Heba is my role model! Before taking her class, I had no prior knowledge in teaching and learning. But after taking this course, I learned many skills and realized my vital role as a teaching assistant in the field of engineering. I was able to apply the effective teaching and active learning strategies I learned in this course in my classes.
Dr. Heba is super caring and respectful to her students!. She considers her students perspectives in her course design. Although this class was online, I felt so engaged and had a strong sense belonging during class meetings and Canvas discussions. Assignments were scaffolded and rubrics made grading fair and clear. I recommend this course to TAs!
I really learned how to think and connect different ideas together and layer my arguments. I also learned to make an original and complex thesis. The readings the professor gave were very relevant to our daily life. I was able to relate these readings to relate to my life. Additionally, the prompts were clear.
Everyone! Please be aware that all the 5.0 feedback are fake!!! Students are forced to write down this. In the last 1-2 weeks, Dr. Heba had individual meeting with us. in the meeting, she required us to share our screen to write down feedback of what she said! In fact, The courses are totally waste of time and useless! We learn nothing from it!!!
Dr. Heba is responsible and good. However, almost all 5.0 rate are fake. You can see most of the rates are at Dec. 8th or 7th. This is because students had individual meeting with her, where she required students to write down what she said. The courses are unorgnaized, messy, and completely a waste of time. Avoid Graduate 590/591!!!
Dr. Heba is the best Professor I have ever had at Rutgers. I was teaching three courses this semester and would have never been able to even manage without her guidance and pedagogical teaching methods. I was able to engage my students and motivate them to learn because I simply put the knowledge I learned from her into practice. Take her course!
Dr. Héba has a great passion for teaching and her students but have no tolerance for mediocrity. You must be serious, participate, and do the work! I learned a great deal from her, and I look forward to to taking her next course in the spring. She is my role model. Her course is so organized to facilitate your learning. An amazing Professor!
I love this course! What I love the most about this course is the Professors inspirational knowledge and dedication. She doesnt not only teach you to be a competent TA but to be compassionate to your students. I loved our individual meetings during which she solicits her students perspectives and experiences and design the curriculum accordingly
Professor Elkhateeb is so knowledgeable. I never liked teaching before having her class but now I can teach and engage my students to actively learn and participate because of the active learning methods I learned from her. She is accessible outside of class and meets with her students individually to give them individualized feedback!
As a graduate PhD student, its crucial for me to learn how to write my graduate research and teach undergraduate courses. Although that was challenging at first, Dr. Heba made it all possible for me! I am so grateful to her guidance and excellent teaching that facilitated my success in graduate teaching and learning. Take her 590 & 591 courses!!!
I would definitely recommend Dr. Heba, shes my favorite professor!! She is super caring to help you do better on your papers. I appreciated the peer reviews and her feedback when it came to my writing. My writing improved so much and I'm pretty sure anyone can improve with her. The class discussions were so organized and readings were interesting!
This class is rigorous but Dr. Heba made it easy on us. She explained the learning theories and teaching methods in an engaging way. I had no interest or prior knowledge in teaching before taking her class. But after taking this course, I feel so confident to teach, prepare, and present class materials to my students. I totally recommend her!
Dr. Heba is a very caring person and very respectful of everyone, however she is an extremely tough grader. She assigns work at 4am and expects it to be done by the same afternoon. There are multiple writing assignments per week (at least 2). She is a very nice person who cares about her students, but I would not take her class again.
She has poor time management skills, and don't expect her to answer any of your emails when you need her help outside of the class. She posts assignments very late and gives you very little time to complete them. She also does not realize that not everyone is a night owl and can stay up until 12 AM to wait for an assignment that's due the next day.
Dr. Heba is the best professor I have had yet. She is really caring and really wants her students to succeed in class. Even though I had her asynchronously, I was able to benefit through her Zoom meetings. She gives really good feedback, broke down every part of my paper and made it clear exactly what she was looking for.
Dr. Heba's Expos section is unmatched. She chooses really interesting and relevant readings for us and guides the class throughout the writing process with tons of quality feedback and help. She's super caring and genuinely has a passion for writing and teaching. I was terrified coming into Expos, but she made this class such a great experience! :)
She is very accessible and accommodating. She understands the student's commitments and provides good resources to help you academically and professionally.
Even though this was an asynchronous course, Prof. Heba made it interesting and interactive. She made great efforts to meet with every student individually to ensure their academic success. She alsp designed engaging online activities and organized discussions based on students' feedback to maximize their professional and personal growth.
Professor Elkhateeb is the best Expos Professor for sure. She made this annoying requirement bearable. She gave great feedback on my papers of what she was looking for. She also cares a lot about her students and wants them to succeed in her class. She also mentioned that our class had the best overall average grade of all expository classes.
Not tech savvy and doesnt know how to use Canvas, so finding assignments and submission folders is hard. Her assignments usually dont make sense, but easy grader and seems to care. no grades on Canvas, do the math. has a few Zoom meetings despite it being an asynchronous course. Posts assignments at 2pm and wants it done by the same night.
Dr. Heba is the best professor I have ever had. I did not only learn effective writing skills but most importantly how to think critically, research, and present my own insights . Her Canvas site is super organized to maximizes learning. She provides clear grading criteria and personalized feedback. She is always accessible. Must take her course!
Easily the smartest professor I have met so far, really cares about the students
Easily one of the most caring professors I've ever had. She truly cares about her students and strives to help them become the best possible versions of themselves.
The professor is kind and supportive but assigns a significant workload with short deadlines. While she offers valuable feedback to help students improve, the assignments are lengthy and detailed. Mandatory Zoom meetings, despite the class being asynchronous. This course requires more effort than expected for an asynchronous writing class.
PROS: Genuinely cares about her students, easy grader, gives lots of feedback, very communicative. ---- CONS: Many assignments with short deadlines, occasional mandatory zoom meetings despite being async, must participate a lot. ---- Overall, keep up and do exactly what she says. It's not hard to get an A but the assignments are time consuming.
I hated Dr.Heba. Not tech savvy at all and has required zoom meetings for an asynch class that you will be penalized for for not attending. Her feedback was somewhat helpful but nothing I couldn't figure out myself. My peers had professors for the same class that assigned much less work and were more straightforward for the same projects we did.
Prof. Heba's EXPOS101 class is challenging but rewarding. She provides detailed feedback and wants students to succeed. unstuck study was a lifesaver for study prep. Definitely take this course if you're up for the workload.
The professor gives good feedback and cares about her students, but is not tech-savvy and can be stubborn at times. She assigns a lot of work with short deadlines, expects expert-level writing, and is a tough grader. I'd probably get a higher grade with less work if I took another professor. Save yourself the frustration and take another professor.
AVOID online College Writing with Dr. Heba! Extremely confusing assignments/instructions. Does not understand Canvas, and makes it very difficult to navigate. Deadlines can be short and unclear. TONS of busy work. Can take a long time to get through without really learning anything. Grades harshly, difficult to get above a 90 on main projects.
This was an online course. Despite this, the class was very organized and engaging. We had a few canvas discussions that allowed us to see what our classmates were thinking. There is a very clear rubric that if you follow you will get a good score on the projects. What you get is what you put into the class.
Avoid if you can. Mandatory zoom meetings for an async class, but largely forgot about them after the beginning. Assignments are disorganized, and she gives barely any time. She'll ghost/forget to post assignments for a week and assign 5 things back to back. Not a harsh grader but grades every essay around 85-94 for me. Never seen her give high As.
