Mr. Menchaca was very helpful when it came to his class. If you had problems (home, work, etc.) he was willing to work with you. However, he did require that you did the work and wasn't a teacher who would let you slide and not do any work. I recommend him if you want an interesting class where you

His classes are very interesting! He has lots of stories to go along with the lessons, so class is rarely ever boring. Pscyhology was easier that sociology to me. He just gives 4 tests, no other grades. The tests are pretty average, but will require some studying.

I loved taking his class. He is interested in everyone of his students. Take him if you can. He gives extra credit that is easy to do.

He offers plenty extra credit and tells you exactly what to expect on a test. And he gets along great with every student. I definately recommend taking his class if possible.

Incredible teacher, I never thought sociology could be so interesting. I learned a lot, but it didn't feel like a chore.

Extremely kind and good sense of humor as well. He made anthropology easy to take! I would take another class from this instructor!

He is one of my favorite professors. I took both PSYC 2301 and 2314 with him, and the classes were a lot of fun and also easy to pass. He is very laid-back and funny, and we had interesting discussions in the classes. My experience was great, and I wish I could take him again, but I don't think I need any more psychology classes. :(

I took him through an online class. A lot of people on here say those tests are hard, but they really aren't. He was also very flexible with me. I had an issue with my computer one day and he was understanding about letting me take the test late. I got to meet him once, and he was a fun dude.

Easy on-line class if you know how to keep up. The test are easy also. Good Professor who does answer emails on time.

Best class taken so far at TCC. Always intriguing and always bring personal stories of his or colleagues psychological endeavors to class. The tests are not to difficult and he reviews. HIGHLY recommend!

Professor Menchaca is a great teacher. I took this class online and it was very easy so long as you do the assignments and read what is asked of you. Would take another class with him teaching again.

This class was interesting. He answers his phone calls. Assignments are simple. Read the textbook and you will do great on the test. Wish he could be my professor for all of my classes. Thanks Mr. Menchaca!!!

Hands down the easiest class I've ever taken. Took the class online during the Summer and got a 98. Anytime I had questions, he was always prompt and helpful. Seemed like a super duper nice guy! Wish I could take him again for another class!

If you want to boost your GPA then take Mr. Menchaca! I always looked forward to going to class because he made it so interesting. He actually cares about his students and will bend over backwards so that his students pass. You do need to study, but he loves giving extra credit. He is one of the best teachers TCC has to offer. If you plan on taking sociology take Mr. Menchaca!...I took his online summer class and made an easy A. He is helpful and doesn't drown you in work, tests aren't too difficult as long as you do the review that he tells you to do. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Amazing class! I had Menchaca for Psychology. He is hilarious and is willing to help. You do need to buy the book...I barely scraped by though because of some distractions, but he gave me a "C" anyway. If you do the work you should be fine. Don't recommend a Hybrid course, though.

By far the best prof. I've had. PLEASE take the hybrid course. It's so worth it. It might go fast but yo will remember everything. He teaches with stories and makes the class very enjoyable.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Made the class something I looked forward to going to every week. Always has good stories, full of jokes, and gets the students involved in discussion. Easy daily homework due every day, tests are a little difficult, but show up to class and he tells you exactly what you need to know. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Don't take this class online, you will miss out on the most amazing instructor, and cheat yourself of a great classroom experience. Not the easiest class, but if you do the work, read the chapter before lecture, and study, you will excel! He wants you to succeed and will give you every tool you need!

He was very helpful, funny always had a good time in the class. it didn't even feel like it was 2 hours long. textbook use is very high. as long as you read your book and look over the reviews you will pass.

This is the best teacher ever! He was awesome and so helpful. His funny comments and pictures on the slide shows makes your attendance worth it. I took his 8 week class while 8 months pregnant and still excelled. I would tell everyone to take his class, I'll be taking 2314 with him as well.

I took Mr. Menchaca for my intro to Sociology class online. He was VERY helpful. His slideshows are nice but the key to making an A is really reading the book. As long as you read you will make an A. There isn't a lot of busy work like other online classes. I recommend this class to anyone who needs it.

He is a very good at what he does, however, his test are hard, AND OVERALL THE WAY IN WHICH HIS COURSE IS TAUGHT MAKES THE CLASS DIFFICULT TO PASS. I absolutely enjoyed Mr. Menchaca's class. He is an awesome teacher, he always made us laugh and his class never seemed to be 2 hours long. As long as you read the book and go over the review he gives you, you should do fine.

Course was easy. All exam questions were from the questions at the end of the chapter. The textbook was horrible and had lots of errors. I took the class online so didn't interact with the professor, except by a single e-mail, but recieved a quick response. Required 3 short written assignments and 3 exams. Assignments were graded quickly.

Took this online class fall 2013 semester. 3 exams, including final. All exam questions come from the multiple choice questions at the back of each chapter (which also has the answers). 3 papers but they were short. A very easy grader. Honestly, didn't read the material except what I needed to know to write the paper.

He was super easy! All the test questions come from questions in the textbook at the end of each chapter, word for word! There are 3 "essays" that only require about a half of a page each, and he grades them very easily (I'm not sure he even reads them...). I got a perfect score on every assignment in his class.

I highly recommend him. Couple things, he will tell you that all the information is directly out of the book, but that is not the case.Take notes profusely, write down as much as you can.Every class you have an easy paper due.All 4 tests are open book/notes so that helps.I liked the way he taught class, he gets everyone involved with discussions.

Hands down my favorite professor of all time. Not only will you learn about the world around you, you will gain insight about yourself as well through his funny stories and his style of teaching. Tests can be tricky but take notes and read your book and you'll have no problem. I can't recommend him enough. A++++

The book is key to getting good grades on the exams. I did not read the assigned chapters for the second exam and ended up failing the exam. Tests are only an hour for 50 questions which stressed me out a lot. 3 easy essays that boost your grade. Was very helpful and understanding when I emailed him with questions. STUDY THE BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!

Take him ONLINE! I learned a LOT in his class. No discussion boards. Test questions are WORD FOR WORD from the back of each chapter. Three 400 word papers, easy grader. I didn't get a 100 only because the test was straight from the book and I was flying through it and accidentally didn't click the answer (got a 96). His class is a LIFE SAVER!

Great professor.. Homework is easy and test are easy.. He reminds me of George Lopez.. Makes the Class very interesting and fun to to be in you wouldn't want to miss any classes.

He is a funny teacher he makes the lectures impossible to not pay attention to (he's funny). You do read a lot for his class, tests are taken online, their open book so there much harder so read and take plenty of notes. He is very easy to talk to, he really cares about his students learning so take advantage of his office hours, homework is easy.

EASY A!! TAKE HIM. I'm currently taking him for summer 1 and its so easy. You will only 1 orientation assignment to do and also you will have three essay to write which they are very easy and 3 exams which they all come from the back of the book of every chapter. You will need the book because that is where all the test questions comes from.

Mr. Menchaca is an absolute awesome teacher to take!! He is extremely helpful and caring. He will do whatever it takes for his students to be successful. He is funny, knows how to lecture, (WILL NOT BE BORED AT ALL), and very outgoing. I would definitely recommend anyone to take him for any subject!!

If you're in need of this class as a pre-req or required class don't waste your time taking it a full semester. I'm taking his fast-paced online class and it's absolutely easy. 1 orientation assignment , 3 tests which includes the final and 3 EASY essays! Mr. Menchaca is a great professor, he teaches,sociology, psychology and English, im not sure what else, he's really funny but not too keen on giving extra credit most of the time. he's very straight forward and to the point, I took him for an 8 week course so the test were a bit harder since the were online open note and open book.

One of my favorite professors! He is hilarious but you better take him seriously. Not a class you can skip, he dropped a girl for being late twice so be on time and ready to learn. You have to do a video response due every class but they're not hard. Tests are HARD but open book so buy it. Very good professor

I took Menchaca's Intro to Psychology course (the 8 week session) and I absolutely loved it!! He is such an amazing teacher, he gives you the opportunity to get ahead, and he's an easy grader! Most of all, he makes the class really interesting and he's really funny! I would definitely take him again if I could!

Menchaca made this half of the semester awesome. He gives great feedback and opportunities for extra credit after each test. I took his 8 week class and was not disappointed. Be prepared to read an entire textbook because this class is dependent on doing so. I recommend any entry level psych student to this class.

I had a hard time with my first teacher transferred to his class had to play catch up but he was very understanding and he's a great teacher have to write a one page essay over videos easy and then there's 3 test the first one was easy but they get harder you'll be fine if you just study READ YOUR BOOK!!! Mr. Menchaca is laid back and really funny, you have to do service learning and have 3 exams overall and they get harder as you go but are open book. Even though you can use the book there isn't enough time to look up every answer so make sure you study! Have to write 1 page papers every week over a video you watch but easy 100. Overall great class

He s basically the real-life energetic version of Dumbledore. Awesome teacher who gives great lectures, always ties in his (hilarious) experiences in the field. Better yet - his tests are online and open book. You do have to watch a super boring video and write a one page essay before each class, but his lectures more than make up for it.

I took his 8 week online class. Straight forward about what is needed. Emails back quickly. 3 papers , 3 test 90min time limit, one time (one or the other due every other week) Reading the book and power point is required to pass these test. I took a test before it was due and I wasn't satisfied with my grade he let me retake it. Awesome experience

MENCHACA IS AMAZING. That is all I really have to say. You guys need to participate in class, it will help. He helps you if you need the help, but you actually have to try in the class, that is why participation is vital. He is super funny, and the lectures are fun.

I took his online class, highly recommend him. There's three papers and three tests, and gives you a schedule on when tests will be scheduled. Keep in mind, he doesn't always send reminders when tests and papers are due. You should be keeping track of that. He's very straight forward, easy essays and tests.

Very easy and straightforward course. 3 exams, 3 papers (very short), and and orientation assignment. The only con is that the assignments didn't open right away and exams were only open for 24hrs. He did extend every exam for either 2 or 3 days, but I just found that frustrating for an online course. However, would take again. Easy A!

By far my absolute favorite professor. His lectures are awesome; you won't believe some of his stories. Read the chapter before class so you can fully participate. Took in the fall of 2018, like others have said there are 3 test and 3 essays. First essay is kind of long but the other 2 are super easy with great topics. Test are on quizlet and are not proctored. Easy A.

Such a good professor. He answers all questions and tells you what you should write down and is very good at helping you know what's important. About 13 papers and they're all 1 page and you get 10 points no matter if its a bad paper. 3 exams all online. So open book, note, and internet. Very easy to pass if you dont read and easy A if you do read.

You do not have to buy a book he understands the struggle life for college students. His work is super easy. You take interesting notes in class and he goes into detail about the powerpoint. He is a great professor really funny. His lectures are so interesting. All his test are online at home. I was super sad when the class ended.

He is my favorite teacher. He helps students get involved, and he really seems to care what students/you as an individual have to say. He is really funny, and it is a great and interesting class. It is actually pretty fun to participate, as he is encouraging. Just make sure you turn in your papers (they are easy) and your volunteer service. Study!

Homework assignments were one page summaries of videos or articles. Three Chapter Test. Service Learning required. Does not accept late work. I enjoyed his lectures. He has real great stories and encourages class participation in the lecture discussion. A real kind and funny man. I would take another one of his classes if given the opportunity.

By far the easiest class I've taken so far. I took him for the 8 week course online and only had 3 papers and 3 exams. He provides powerpoints to the book so you don't have to necessarily purchase it. He is a very fast grader, just follow his guidelines and be on top of the due dates and you'll get an easy A.

I took this eight-week class, and it was my favorite. He made the class very fun, and his stories were unbelievably funny. It's a comfortable A/B if you do the papers assigned, and community service is required. If he taught another curriculum besides PSYC 2301, I would take it. The papers assigned were straightforward.

This class was AMAZING! He made sure to always keep the students involved and gave incredible speeches. You always walked out knowing something new. I highly recommend this class and him as the professor!

One of the best professors I've had, took this class as an 8 week or less term. Although we would communicate online due to this whole COVID-19 situation, I still managed to get a straight A on this class, easy grader, just turn in your work and you will pass his class. Prof Menchaca is awesome! I took him for an 8wk course and all material was online, no textbook needed. There's a paper due almost every week but they are completely doable. He is not a tough grader, just answer the prompt and you'll be good! I would definitely recommend him.

His class only consisted of reading a book (16 chapters), reviewing the PowerPoints on them , writing a paper about a topic within the chapters , then taking the exams. The work is divided in three sections so there are three papers and three exams.

I dont know why some reviews are saying only 3 test and 3 essays. Maybe he changed the course recently. There was like 12 essays and 3 test in a short semester. But its worth taking again. Meet the requirements and you will definitely pass.
